2. Blogging Experience
I really enjoyed making my own blog and having the
freedom of writing what I want to write about.
Writing for a blog is much more easy and laidback than
writing a paper in MLA or APA format.
Blogging allows you to write more freely, voice your
opinion, and write in your own personal style without
someone criticizing.
I am a communications major so working with social
media and blogs is helping me for the future.
3. Layout, background, and color
For my blog, I chose a travel Template with a simple
background
I have a Navy/Blue color scheme as well for Westfield
State’s school colors.
Every blog post has blue text to reiterate the Westfield
colors.
4. Favorite Blogging tools
The Heading, Subheading, and minor heading tool
The Heading allowed me to state the main focus of the
post.
The Subheading serves as a thesis statement for the
post.
The minor heading tool can be used for bullet points
that analyze key facts and points of the blog post.
5. Photoshop experience
This was my first Photoshop experience so I was not too
familiar with editing photos.
Trial and error is how I learned to correctly edit photos.
There are so many different tools and functions that
may not seem useful until you actually start playing
around with them.
6. Favorite tools/techniques
My personal Favorite tool was the transform tool.
This tool allowed me to create some really unique
shadows in my photos.
I did not know it was possible to edit and warp a picture
enough to make it look way more defined and unique.
8. Continued
This picture was taken from an iphone 5 and it is hard
to believe.
I didn’t do much to this picture besides put a heavy
shadow on the buildings and trees.
I thought that editing the picture to make the lighting
dark and shadows heavy would put emphasis and focus
on the colors in the sky.
9. Blogging with photos
Incorporating photos into your blog is a great way of
grabbing the viewers attention.
No person reading a blog wants to stare at blank text
the whole time, Visuals are key.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I
believe this.
Placing a photo in your blog post will make it easier for
the reader to get a visual look on what your blog post is
focused on.
