I will be using Adobe Photoshop to create my colour schemes for my digipak and world tour
poster. For my online website product, I will be using the free website creating service – wix.
The colour scheme of my minor tasks will be similar in each component that makes up the
tasks.
This will be used for brand identity purposes and help connote the genre of rap, as well as
the explicit themes of the Space Bound song. I want to ensure that the colour scheme and
the backgrounds are black to symbolise the maturity within the content of the music video.
It also is affiliated with themes regarding to negativity.
Colour backgrounds will feature more prominent use in my online website because I would
like to use stock images to create the backgrounds of my digipak and world tour poster.
Colour #1 – Standard Black (Adobe Photoshop Code: 000000)
2. Font:
Due to the use of a black background, all colours will be able to stand out in the black
background. The font colour, like the background colour, is subjected to change after mock-
ups, if necessary.
The function of the font:
1. To have a good aesthetic and stand out against the background so that my audience
can consume the general messages and codes that have specified by the artist and
the institution. In order to do so, I am using a white colour font in order for
audiences to easily read information, as white colouring stands out best against in a
black backdrop.
2. To create meaning and make specific connotations to the genre of rap in order to
ensure that my product meets the industry’s standard. The white colour that I will
be using is quite a dull colour, as is black. This makes clear connections to the genre
of rap, as the dull colours show, again, that rap music is dark and gritty in the
content that it conveys; the white colour reiterates this point and thus creates
meaning. I also plan on using purple-pink colouring to serve as potential headings
and titles for my products. I plan to use blending options on Photoshop to give this
purple-pink colouring some glow to make it neon colouring, which creates space
innuendo. Though it has no relation to the genre of rap, It has a connection to my
song choice, ‘Space Bound’, and so I headings to further the idea of text looking like
a sci-fi title.
3. Colour #1 – Standard White (Adobe Photoshop Code: ffffff)
