2. INDIE POP ARTISTS LOGO’S
I researched various artists logo’s from the same
genre as our song [indie pop] . There is a recurring
theme of minimalistic fonts and colours. Also artists
Florence and the Machine and Lorde have their own
graphic art part of their brand. I will attempt to create
my own graphic art logo and for the font I will use a
minimalist, clear but plain font.

4. Analysis and Picking my Font
I liked this font as I thought it was eye catching and
different to the stereotypical block font used by many
artists. However I do not think it is the right font for
my digipak as it does not look very professional and
is not very bold so may be overpowered by the
images or overlooked by a viewer as it is quite thin
and grey.

This font is very similar to indie pop artist ‘Florence and the
Machine’. This means it has the codes and conventions of a font
used in the genre. It is very simplistic and minimalist which I like
and I think this portrays the artist well as the songs are raw and
about emotion. The only negative about this font is that it does
not stand out much and I’m not positive it will show off the artist
when placed on a busy, bright background.
This font is similar to font 2 but it is a bit more bold and
stands out more. This makes it a good contender for
being the font used for my branding. However this is
quite plain and common so is not distinctive to the artist.

I like this font a lot as it is bold and typical to a font
used by other indie pop artists however it is different
to any other font I have looked at. This means that an
audience would be able to recognise it as the artists
brand and not get confused with another artist. It is
also bold and stands out but is not boring and one
block colour.
This font is interesting as it is simplistic and bold
which is what I was looking for but has the
smudge / blur effect. This would be good if I used
the blur tool in photoshop when editing my
digipak images as it would fit in well.
This is another one of my favourite fonts as it is
similar to fonts 2 and 3 but is a bit more bold and
interesting. This makes it good for a digipak as an
audience can clearly read it.

a white background by simply drawing
white on a separate layer and putting
this layer underneath the drawing.
I then outlined the hands with a

removed the background so I was
left with a solid white circle with the
hand drawing inside.
