Privacy is not described in law, and providing a definite definition is difficult. Privacy relates to the

Social Class In Jane Eyre
In the Victorian era women were held at a different standard than the men in the Victorian era. In the
novels of Jane Eyre and Tess of the d Urberville the social class of the women was challenged by both
leading ladies in the novels. Exploring both novels I will you examples from both to show how social
class effected women in the Victorian era. Beginning with Jane Eyre, the novel itself is a critical of
Victorian England s strict hierarchy. Bronte explores the complex social placements of governesses
which was the most prominent exploration of this theme. Jane was a figure of an ambiguous class
standing, and subsequently, a source of high tension for the characters around her in the novel. Jane s
overall mannerisms and education are those of high standings, of those of aristocrat. A Victorian
governesses, who tutored young children in life skills such as etiquette and as well as academics; Jane
was expected to embody the culture of the aristocracy. However, as a paid employee she was more or
less treated as servants; consequently Jane remains broke and powerless while residing a Thornfield.
Jane s understanding of the double standards against her become clear when she accepts her feelings
for Rochester. Jane is his intellectual, but not social equal. Even before Rochester s big secret about
Bertha Mason, Jane was hesitant to marry him because she knew that she would feel like she owed
him for condescending to marry her. In chapter seventeen, Jane s distress appears

Steven Universe Stereotypes
When kids sit down in front of their Saturday morning TV, what are they seeing? Maybe they re
watching Hannah Montana, and they see that their favorite pop star in disguise is totally freaking out
that the cutest boy in school asked her to prom. Or maybe they re watching Fairly Odd Parents and
notice that Timmy Turner always gets hearts in his eyes when he sees his crush, Trixie Tang. These
instances might mean little to nothing for the decidedly heterosexual, but heteronormativity leaves out
children who are questioning or exploring their sexualities. This is where Cartoon Network s Steven
Universe comes leaping to the rescue. This is a show that explores a spectrum of queer relationships
and identities without resorting to stereotypes. Representation like this is important because children
of all identities and orientations need to be shown that not only are they not alone, but people similar
to themselves can lead successful lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Religious Role In Canterbury Tales
During the Middle Ages in Medieval Europe, the Roman Catholic Church played an important role in
practically every aspect of life. It dominated and had a tremendous control over everyone. They
specifically had control over the decision of who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell therefore
creating a sort of fear amongst people who believed that their souls were the most important thing they
had and that the only way for their souls to go Heaven was through the church. For this reason exactly,
some religious figures started to take advantage of their position knowing how devoted people were to
the church. This led to the formation of stereotypes towards them and triggered distaste toward the
church. Chaucer was one mainly affected by religion and the church; it played an important role in his
poem the Canterbury Tales where he used religious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we think of a nun we usually think of a religious woman who dedicates her life to worshipping,
reading, and working in the convent or nunnery. They also take on the vows of poverty, chastity, and
obedience. If you were a prioress, however, you had the responsibility of managing the activities of
the nuns, administering discipline, and making decisions on things such as housing and work. In
Chaucer s Canterbury Tales we are seen with the character of Madam Eglantyne, a prioress who
obsesses with earthly pleasures. When you take on the role of being a nun you are prohibited from
owning, and especially wearing, any sorts of jewelry and intricate clothing. However, that prohibition
didn t stop her from wearing her elegant cloak and coral trinket. A Prioress was also supposed to love
God with all her heart, but Madam Eglantyne was infatuated with the concept of courtly love. Like

A Skin Disease Of Vitiligo
I am going to be discussing a skin disease called vitiligo. This skin disease occurs when one s
melanocytes, mature melanin forming cells, are ruined. Vitiligo is a disease that is not hard to
recognize and can be found at several spots on the body. The most common places to find this disease
would be on the hands, feet, around the mouth and eyes, and even around the genitalia. With some
skin diseases, melanocytes are destroyed, and the production of melanin, a dark brown to black
pigment that is found in the skin and is the reasoning for skin color, is simply just slowed down. This
results in hypopigmentation, which is the loss of skin color, but not a total loss. Other skin diseases,
such as vitiligo, have a complete absence of melanin. The depigmented skin color of someone with
this disease is similar to that of one who suffers from albinism.
The destruction of melanocytes can have three major causes in people with vitiligo. The first being
that a patient with vitiligo has inherited three of the vitiligo genes, which has caused their melanocytes
to destruct. The second being that the melanocytes themselves are different in a patient with vitiligo in
relation to those without vitiligo. Melanocytes of a vitiligo patient compared to a person without
vitiligo require a meticulous cultural condition and are more unstable around certain chemicals. The
cells can even die when exposed to such factors. Vitiligo genes are prevented from acting in a normal
fashion when they are

Badges of Trade
BADGES OF TRADE
Profit seeking motive
When a person enters into a transaction, we need to identify whether there is a profit seeking motive.
It is not the existence of a profit that is important, it is the motive to earn one. However, the ZRA will
really be interested in this issue if a profit has actually been earned, because then they have something
to tax. A Taxpayer may argue that they are trading in order to utilize a loss to reduce their Tax bill. The
taxpayer must however, demonstrate the motive rather than the existence of profit to establish that a
trade is being carried on.
Note:
Intention to trade clearly constitutes trading. Intention to make a profit may not necessarily be so.
In IRC Vs Reinhold (1953) the Tax payer bought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Cape Brandy Syndicate Vs IRC (1921), three individuals in the wine trade bought 10,000 gallons of
South African Brandy. This was blended, bottled and sold to over 100 separate buyers over a period of

In IRC Vs Livingstone (1972), a syndicate purchased a cargo vessel with a view to converting it into a
steam drifter and selling it at a profit. They had never previously done this, but they were held to be
trading!
Circumstances giving rise to the Realization
If a taxpayer sells an asset in order to raise money to help solve some financial problems it will be
difficult to prove that he is carrying on a trade. Incidentally, there have been few cases on this point.
In Page Vs Pogson (1954) the taxpayer built a house for himself and sold it six months later after
completion. He then built another one but had to sell it when his employment moved to another part of
the Country. He was held to be trading by the Commissioners of Taxes.
In addition to the six badges of trade there additional factors which have to be taken into account.
These are:
Taxpayer s other circumstances
If other circumstances of a taxpayer indicate the existence of a trade then even the current transaction
is likely to be interpreted as an indication

Characteristics And Weaknesses Of An Enterprise...
1. Given our studies of EA frameworks you are to identify five different criteria by which you can
assess the strengths and weaknesses of the: TOGAF, FEA, LightWeight and Zachman framework. (50
points)
Enterprise Architecture is an all inclusive approach to managing the complexity of IT from a business
viewpoint. A framework is used to help describe how to create and use an EA, in a manner that
delivers business benefit in a cost effective way. Each framework has a different approach to adding
value to the business. These criteria will identify the ways an enterprise architecture framework adds
business value, how adaptability and flexibility effect the overall adoption of an enterprise architecture
framework, how the deliverables contribute to the success of an enterprise architecture, how does each
framework take a strategic approach to reduce complexity of enterprise architecture, and how the
framework encompasses the Software Development Lifecycle.
The Zachman Framework considers that there may be different perspectives, however, each
perspective considers the requirements of the other and the restraints those may impose. It also allows
for different levels of complexity, depth, and breadth of details for each cell of the matrix based upon
the importance to a given organization. The Zachman Framework can be used to set standards and is
also easy to use with other tools and methodologies. TOGAF offers flexibility and is easily adaptable
for any organization. It

Prince Hamlet Versus Machiavelli s Prince Essay
Prince Hamlet Versus Machiavelli s Prince
The Prince is a celebrated and highly controversial piece of work by the Italian aristocrat Niccolo
Machiavelli. His work is a summation of all the qualities a prince must have in order to remain in his
position. Machiavelli supports the idea that a prince use his power for the ultimate benefit of all, but
he also does not condemn the use of any unpleasant means in order for the prince to maintain his
power. His ideas both compare and contrast to the methods used by Prince Hamlet of Denmark in
Shakespeare s Hamlet. Hamlet, as we know, struggles mightily to maintain his position as the prince,
and one must wonder if this is due to some of the highly essential qualities outlined by ... Show more

In the beginning, Hamlet struggles to remain good at all times, but this only causes him extreme
anguish. Hamlet must soon come to disregard his sense of morality in order to save himself, which is
essentially exactly what Machiavelli professed one must do. He shows little remorse in killing
Polonius, and he turns against his old friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Still, one has to believe
that Hamlet is not without a conscience, because his desire for revenge is fulfilled only at the very end
as he himself dies.
Another point made within Machiavelli s writings is that a prince must strive to avoid hatred, yet at
the same time, be feared by all those around him. Hamlet most certainly achieved the first goal, for I
believe he was highly regarded by all his subjects, but he rarely acted in a way to inspire fear in those
around him. Indeed, Polonius, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstem had no trouble plotting against him,
because they had no fear that he would turn against them in a violent or malicious manner. On the
other hand, I believe Hamlet was a threat to them once he began acting so insanely, because his
actions were much more unpredictable. A key point is that men are fickle and constantly changing, as
demonstrated by Hamlet himself, so one must be prepared for any turn of events.
Machiavelli goes on to stress that while it can be beneficial to appear a good and honorable man, a
prince must always be prepared to resort to

Comparing Brahms And Pachelbel s Poem Time Line
Time Line
I detect the scent of round two blowing on the wind that gently courses its way over the hilly horizon
as the sun sets on the final page of a new chapter ... can you see it? Can you feel it? It s warm and
moist and is the color of old, stained and tattered sepia photographs of another time a time lost and

it as real as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Jesus and peace.
Oh my! Where has the time gone, and who are the keepers of time? Have they absconded with it,
along with our dreams, our realities, our nightmares? Will they return with it, or shall we just sit here
awaiting the end like two fishermen waiting for a nibble in a dried up lake? The question remains
unanswered just like many others, but wait we must, because we are still at the end of a long line and

American Pie Summary
Don McLean wrote American Pie to make people cognizant of the plane crash that killed Buddy
Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P Richardson. Through metaphors and allegories, he tries to explain that
the death of these musicians was a sad and almost unholy event that he was grieving severely about. In
it though he also references things that other musicians did in their lifetimes. In the stanza We all got
up to dance/ Oh, but we never got the chance/ Cause the players tried to take the field/ The marching
band refused to yield, it in its entirety is an allegory for how the Beatles were trying to make music

Analysis Of The Book Toward Perpetual Peace Other...
In the book, Toward Perpetual Peace and Other Writings on politics, Peace and History , Immanuel
Kant shows us that we can find purpose in a life that seems to lack purpose. By not presupposing
individual purposiveness among humans, Kant discovers a natural purpose among all humanity.
Through this fundamental idea, we can see that Kant discovers a universal history from a
Cosmopolitan point of view. Cosmopolitanism centers around the idea that all of humanity belongs to
a single community and is based on a mutual universal morality (among rational individuals). This
essay will focus mainly on the arguments for purposiveness without purpose, specifically the
arguments for purpose and their implications. Furthermore, the question this ... Show more content on

In the human being (as the only rational creature on earth), those natural predispositions aimed at the
use of its reason are to be developed in full only in the species, but not in the individual. This can be
interpreted in my perspective as genes. Since we are not immortal we must practice and perfect our
skills, and by natures will, we pass our perfected genes on to the next generation so they may further
perfect the skill in hopes of finding insight or enlightenment. If this is not to be nature s purpose for
us, our natural capacities should be seen as without direction and useless. The Third Proposition states,
Nature has willed that human beings produce everything that extends beyond the mechanical
organization of their animal existence completely on their own, and that they shall not partake in any
happiness or perfection other than that which they attain free of instinct and by means of their own
reason (Kant, p. 5). Through this premise Kant is saying that nature takes nothing for granted. She is
neither wasteful nor reckless with means to her goal. By giving women and men reason and free will,
nature entails our purpose. Furthermore, nature did not purpose for us to live guided by instinct, as we
lack instinctive knowledge to nurture ourselves and must learn everything ourselves without
instruction, which also entails our purpose as reasoning things who must reason to survive and

Cost Benefit Analysis and Risk Assessment Essay
Introduction:
With regards to environmental policy, it is important for governments to consider concepts such as
risk, economic efficiency and cost benefit. A common concern voiced by proponents of regulatory
reform in recent decades has been that the costs associated with certain regulations outweigh the
benefits that the regulations are intended to provide (Tengs Graham, 1996). Another, and somewhat
related, view is that, more intelligent regulatory policies could achieve the same social goals (e.g.,
cleaner environment, safer workplaces) at less cost, or could achieve more ambitious goals at the same
cost (Tengs Graham, 1996). For the reasons above, Federal Agencies, have invested in using tools
such as the cost benefit analysis and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the latter, we must calculate net, marginal as well as total benefits (pg, 209, Vig Kraft, 2013).
Economic efficiency requires that we find the policy that will give us the greatest net benefits the
biggest difference between total benefits and total costs (pg.208, Vig Kraft, 2013). In this case the total
benefits are considered as the total benefits of reducing pollution (pg.208, Vig Kraft, 2013).
Perhaps, several concerns that Congress may have when using the cost benefit analysis are: assuring
greater consistency in techniques, defining the respective roles of cost benefit and other related
evaluation frameworks; and significantly increasing funds to do these analyses in a timely way
(Moore, 1995) . Moreover, critics of benefit cost analysis object to placing a dollar value on
environmental goods, suggesting that these priceless resources are devalued when traded in monetary
terms (pg, 209, Vig Kraft, 2013) . Although no economic argument can suggest whether explicit or
implicit consideration of benefits and costs is ethically preferable, the cost benefit analysis is used as
one of many inputs to the consideration of policy choices (pg, 209, Vig Kraft, 2013). In fact, it is

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The ICP Over Other...
The main analytical advantages of the ICP over other excitation sources are: (1) Arrangement of
elements could be measured in single analysis cycle (2) Accurate to determine elemental concentration
(3) Capability for efficient and reproducible vaporization, atomization, excitation, and ionization for a
wide range of elements in various sample matrices. This is probably due to the high temperature of
about 6000 7000 K, in the observation zones of the ICP. This temperature is much higher than the
maximum temperature of flames or furnaces of about (3300 K). The high temperature of the ICP also
makes it capable of exciting refractory elements, and renders it less prone to matrix interferences

Building A Sustainable Green Hotel
In recent years, environmental issues are being a fundamental topic around the world as the public
have been aware of the risks to our planet because of the harmful human being, such as deforestation,
over consumption of energy, different kinds of pollution, over construction, which are incurring
serious climate change and global warming. The replacement on the Millenium Development Goals to
17 sustainable development goals also alerted people to concern about how to make a better
environment in a sustainable way under a high density urban city, where there are constructions
contributed to this community. Especially in hotel industry, a surge of travelers leaded to the increase
of hotel, which required plenty of land, energy and resources to achieve this huge demand. However,
there are several factors we need to consider before the launch of the project, which are how to design
a sustainable green hotel with a long term vision instead of becoming a stranded asset in the future.
So, in the following is my location and design of my hotel, considering environmental factors and
integrating five sustainable development principles in my concept.
My hotel will launch a long term vision called Love the Earth which is related to green management
topic. It is committed to lead our hotel into a new stage towards sustainability development so as to
provide a better world for our generation in the future. With this mutual commitment as for the
companies and individuals, we would

Why Is Raphael Considered An Artist
I think of Raphael as an amazing artist who would make things that seemed impossible looked really

into a fever and, not telling his doctors that this was its cause, was given the wrong cure, which killed
him. Was Raphael Married? He was a Renaissance celebrity, known not only for his superb artistic

Compare And Contrast The Kite Runner And Antigone
A moral or lesson is a message that is conveyed to be learned from a story or an event. The Kite

Antigone is a greek mythology play about Antigone the daughter/sister of Oedipus, the play follows
Antigone on a journey of family loyalty. Works of literature often teach the readers a social or moral
lesson, both The Kite Runner and Antigone teach a very well build lesson that affects the reader s
moral ethics. Both works of literature have similar themes throughout the storyline that changes the

In The Kite Runner, the main lesson readers learn is redemption. Amir makes a mistake but in the end,
learns from it. An example of this is when Assif is beating up Amir: [Amir] What was so funny was
that, for the first time since the winter of 1975 I felt at peace. I laughed because I saw that, in some
nook in the corner of my mind, I had been looking forward to this. (Hosseini 289). This quote shows
us that while Assif is beating Amir, Amir s guilt is dieing down and he is at peace. This also shows that
Amir would do anything for Hassan and in a way he is redeeming himself for what he did to Hassan.
The moral of The Kite Runner is that no matter the sin, there is always a chance for redemption. The
themes of loyalty, sacrifice and betrayal that are present throughout this novel leads to the lesson of
redemption for Amir. In Antigone there are multiple lessons that the play teaches us, one of them is
that too much pride is going to lead to misfortune and another one is don t try to change your fate.
Both Antigone and Creon faced their misfortune for having excessive pride. The Kite Runner and
Antigone starts off with all the same themes but in the end both Amir, Hassan, Antigone and Creon
have different fate. For both Hassan and Antigone, their loyalty takes them to their graves. The lesson

both his teammates and his country for enduring unimaginable amounts of pain to see others succeed.
By placing his teammates before his own well being and priorities Shun shows interdependent self

culture is very centered around an interdependent self construal. Being family orient is a large
expectation many in the Asian culture believe, based upon religion that one must achieve the

Maintaining social connections and keeping harmony and peace is a core value in the Japanese

his goal of helping carry his teammates to victory. The interdependent self construal is a means of
valuing other opinions higher than that of your own. The respect gained from family and friends is of
higher importance to the self than that of the inner thoughts. These relationships are dependent on the

This resistance has played a major role in making the government more just, especially in the U.S.
where the people have a lot of freedom. Sometimes, someone would argue that to disobey the laws is

Examples Of Workplace Discrimination
1. How do I define discrimination in my own words and discrimination prevention in my own words?
Discrimination is a long word, difficult pronunciation, tough to spell; yet, usage is exceedingly
common. Righteous teaching discrimination is simple to define. Unfair, unjust, underserved treatment
upon one is my views of discrimination. Discrimination is done intentionally. One cannot state unfair
treatment upon an induvial was mistaken.
Discrimination is highly found in the workplace. Workplace discrimination is instituted mainly by
employers; however, it transpires among employees. A few examples of workplace discrimination is
not being promoted, hired, friended, praised, heard, or given earned salaries. Leading causes of the
above examples contributes to race, ethnicity, religion, age, weight and gender.
Why should anyone be discriminated in the workplace? Working people in today s society should
know discrimination is immoral! Sadly, many working people are not righteous; therefore,
discrimination is still an ongoing problem. Discrimination prevention program training has been
developed; basically teaching working adults how to be fair.

Cultural Values
Each person develops in some type of culture. It is the environment that we live in that determines

That would make me Hispanic in the United States. My origins are straight from Peru. I came to the

value more than before the close relationship I had with my relatives. I even realized that being a
country that gives many opportunities could allow me and my family to aid my members of the family
experiencing financial problems, unemployment, or other issues.
When I came to the United States I also came to put in practice the value of Simpatia ( kindness ) as
well as the value of Respeto. I was taught to value respect, and be kind to others. For example when
my parents, elders or other relatives need care I am responsible to care for them as just as they took

Examples Of Greed In Huckleberry Finn
Michelle Callahan November 5, 2014 ENGL 2328 6001 8W2 Violence and greed are two themes that
run rampant through all of Huckleberry Finn, driving the story along. Just when you begin to think
things have calmed down, something else happens to bring the themes back into the picture and
shatter the false sense of peace achieved by the slow float down the river. The characters are impelled
to continue living dangerously, despite the many other options available to them, to try and improve
their station in life. The violence and greed both come in early on, and it s no surprise that the two are
wrapped up together in a profound way. Huck s dad, Pap, comes back into the picture, and the readers
quickly find out that Huck has been abused many times in the past. Huck recalls how his father hasn t
been seen in a year and Huck was just fine with that as Pap used to always whale [Huck] when he was

that his son had come into a large sum of money and he wants it for his own. He tells Huck that he

Essay about Guide to Becoming a Jerk
Guide to Becoming a Jerk
Being a jerk can be fun. It gives you a feeling of dominance over others; you are more important then
the rest. You are the wolf among a flock of sheep; people fear you, and therefore look up to you. Being
a jerk is not hard; all you have to do is think about yourself and your own feelings, and forget that
everyone else has emotions. There are various ways of achieving this perception of importance; you
can put people down and belittle them, pretend you re better than everyone, or just be plain mean,
unpolite, and nasty. Sure, there might be some little voice inside saying that you are no better than
anyone else is, but you can drown out that nagging reminder with constant insults to others. Nothing

This will make the other person feel insecure and reluctant to talk to you; the people around you will
either think your comments are funny (they aspire to be a jerk like you), or they will consider you rude

no one else; you feel only your feelings and no one else s; so why should you be concerned with
anyone but yourself? You are king in your own mind, and your perception is everything.
If you can t be bothered to be a witty, sarcastic jerk, you can just be a regular, mean jerk. This kind of
jerk is intolerant and impatient (to a higher degree than the other type of jerk), rude, and
unsarcastically mean. The next time someone gives you something or does something for you, don t
say thank you or show gratitude; you should even go so far as to complain about what they gave you

that they can win your favor with good deeds; that s manipulation. You can t let anyone win your
favor; that would show weakness, and you have to be strong to show that you are of great importance.
Be disrespectful to everyone, and elders and authority figures especially. Respect can also be linked to
weakness, since respecting someone can be taken

The most common example of partnerships are professional partnerships, like in the case of law firms

A partnership, just like a corporation, is a juridical entity, which means that it has a personality distinct

frightened. All the noble knights flee in fear, except for one, Saint George. Saint George bravely faces
the dragon, but instead of using his sword, he kneels and prays to saint Michael to give him wisdom
and strength. Michael appears out of the heavens, and empowers Saint George, with courage, and

Kluckhohn and Strodbeck’s Value Model
Abstract: Culture is the holistic interrelationship of a group s identity, beliefs, values, activities, rules,
customs, communication patterns, and institutions. (Dodd, 1998) Values are important components of
a given culture accepted by individuals sharing that culture. They are deep and hidden elements of the
cultural iceberg that are seldom questioned or defended but can reflect different characteristics of
different cultures. Kluckhohn and Strodbeck s value model is used here to analyze distinct Chinese
and American culture. Key words:culture; values; Kluckhohn and Strodbeck s value model; Chinese

In the Bible story of Adam and Eve, God throws them out of the Garden of Eden because they ate the
fruit from the Tree of knowledge. But with modernism came a sense that progress improves the world
and the people in it, and actually already with Puritanism came the work ethic which in a sense
suggested that if a person works hard he can overcome his sinful nature as stated in busy hands make
for good morals and idle hands are the devil s opportunity . Democratic and educational ideals also
work toward the improvement of mankind. (Kulich, personal email to the author, 2007) So Americans
have changed to seeing humans as a mixture of good and evil despite that the traditional belief
continues to flourish, for example among fundamentalist Christians who follow the Bible in their daily
life. Influenced by the teachings of Confucius, The Chinese people believe that people are born pure
and innocent. Humans nature is good and the corruption only begins when people grow and are
affected by society. In order to prevent the corruption, parents, teachers and other related persons are
obligated to set up good examples for their protégés and educate them. So from a Chinese point of
view, ideally there are humans who are perfect

Examples Of Craft Techniques In Red Scarf Girl
2/6✔
Author s Craft: How is your nonfiction author using craft techniques to keep the central idea true?
What is your author doing that also incorporates his/her perspective in the theme? (Look at the
Informational Author s Craft Techniques and Goals BELOW for ideas.)
6
In Red Scarf Girl, I noticed one huge author s craft technique throughout the story. The author used a
lot of inner thinking. This makes sense, since the story is the author telling her own story. The inner
thinking really shows the main character s biggest conflict: her debating whether or not she should
stick with her family or take her own path and follow society. She is always thinking about this and
the two sides to it. Jiang doesn t know what is right, and she is always thinking about that to herself.
Another small technique I noticed was dialogue. In some books, there s not a lot of dialogue but I
really noticed it in Red Scarf Girl. This really helped to show the two sides to Jiang s conflict.
When she s talking to say a Liberation supporter, the way they are talking shows how Jiang supports
that side. On the other hand, when Jiang is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There could be lots of violence, mature content, bad language, and more. In the book The Hate U Give
by Angie Thomas, there were two main reasons that could be why the book was banned. The first (and
most obvious) reason why The Hate U Give could ve been banned is language. There is a lot of bad
and inappropriate words used in this book. Throughout the story, many of the characters would
express their emotions with profanity. This helps set the climate and mood of the story as well. While
it is a good reason to ban a book, it does help the story better explain each character and the lives they
live. The main character, Starr, is always cursing around her family, and they do the same. This really
helps to show their relationships and how close they

Vision: Audi the premium brand
In adopting its Strategy 2020, the Audi Group has focused its core brand Audi on the challenges of the
future. The strategy took on firmer contours during 2011 as the full potential of the mission We delight
customers worldwide was explored in greater depth. It now gives more weight to new issues that have
emerged as a result of heightened environmental awareness, growing uncertainty about the future
availability of fossil fuels and increasing urbanization.

Today, the Company focuses on the use of intelligent combinations of materials, which include
aluminum, carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP), modern steel alloys and magnesium. Then there
is Audi connect, the umbrella brand launched by the Company to bracket together trendsetting
navigation and infotainment functions, as well as technologies that connect drivers with the Internet,
the car and their surroundings. In addition to product based innovations, the Audi brand is working on
new mobility concepts. Since 2011, for example, customers mobility behavior in electrically powered
cars has been the subject of a study that is part of the A1 e tron fleet trial in Munich.
We create experiences
To delight its customers time and time again, the Company aims to create special, positive experiences
that customers will associate with the Audi brand. These include modern sales concepts such as the
showroom configurator, which makes it quick and easy for visitors to an Audi dealership to create the
Audi vehicle of their choice on large screens, with life like, three dimensional images. In 2011, the
Audi brand came up with a very special way of presenting its new Q3 premium SUV: the Audi Q3

customers and interested parties were given the opportunity to discover the Q3 s qualities in a mirror
filled cube up to 14 meters high.
Another way of experiencing the Audi brand emotionally

In the novels of Jane Eyre and Tess of the d Urberville the social class of the women was challenged by both leading ladies in the novels. Exploring both novels I will you examples from both to show how social class effected women in the Victorian era. Beginning with Jane Eyre, the novel itself is a critical of Victorian England s strict hierarchy. Bronte explores the complex social placements of governesses which was the most prominent exploration of this theme. Jane was a figure of an ambiguous class standing, and subsequently, a source of high tension for the characters around her in the novel. Jane s overall mannerisms and education are those of high standings, of those of aristocrat. • 8. Steven Universe Stereotypes When kids sit down in front of their Saturday morning TV, what are they seeing? Maybe they re watching Hannah Montana, and they see that their favorite pop star in disguise is totally freaking out that the cutest boy in school asked her to prom. Or maybe they re watching Fairly Odd Parents and notice that Timmy Turner always gets hearts in his eyes when he sees his crush, Trixie Tang. These instances might mean little to nothing for the decidedly heterosexual, but heteronormativity leaves out children who are questioning or exploring their sexualities. This is where Cartoon Network s Steven Universe comes leaping to the rescue. This is a show that explores a spectrum of queer relationships and identities without resorting to stereotypes. • 9. Religious Role In Canterbury Tales During the Middle Ages in Medieval Europe, the Roman Catholic Church played an important role in practically every aspect of life. It dominated and had a tremendous control over everyone. They specifically had control over the decision of who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell therefore creating a sort of fear amongst people who believed that their souls were the most important thing they had and that the only way for their souls to go Heaven was through the church. For this reason exactly, some religious figures started to take advantage of their position knowing how devoted people were to the church. This led to the formation of stereotypes towards them and triggered distaste toward the church. • 11. A Skin Disease Of Vitiligo I am going to be discussing a skin disease called vitiligo. This skin disease occurs when one s melanocytes, mature melanin forming cells, are ruined. Vitiligo is a disease that is not hard to recognize and can be found at several spots on the body. The most common places to find this disease would be on the hands, feet, around the mouth and eyes, and even around the genitalia. With some skin diseases, melanocytes are destroyed, and the production of melanin, a dark brown to black pigment that is found in the skin and is the reasoning for skin color, is simply just slowed down. This results in hypopigmentation, which is the loss of skin color, but not a total loss. Other skin diseases, such as vitiligo, have a complete absence of melanin. The depigmented skin color of someone with this disease is similar to that of one who suffers from albinism. The destruction of melanocytes can have three major causes in people with vitiligo. The first being that a patient with vitiligo has inherited three of the vitiligo genes, which has caused their melanocytes to destruct. The second being that the melanocytes themselves are different in a patient with vitiligo in relation to those without vitiligo. Melanocytes of a vitiligo patient compared to a person without vitiligo require a meticulous cultural condition and are more unstable around certain chemicals. The cells can even die when exposed to such factors. Vitiligo genes are prevented from acting in a normal fashion when they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is not the existence of a profit that is important, it is the motive to earn one. However, the ZRA will really be interested in this issue if a profit has actually been earned, because then they have something to tax. A Taxpayer may argue that they are trading in order to utilize a loss to reduce their Tax bill. The taxpayer must however, demonstrate the motive rather than the existence of profit to establish that a trade is being carried on. Note: Intention to trade clearly constitutes trading. • 13. Characteristics And Weaknesses Of An Enterprise... 1. Given our studies of EA frameworks you are to identify five different criteria by which you can assess the strengths and weaknesses of the: TOGAF, FEA, LightWeight and Zachman framework. (50 points) Enterprise Architecture is an all inclusive approach to managing the complexity of IT from a business viewpoint. A framework is used to help describe how to create and use an EA, in a manner that delivers business benefit in a cost effective way. Each framework has a different approach to adding value to the business. These criteria will identify the ways an enterprise architecture framework adds business value, how adaptability and flexibility effect the overall adoption of an enterprise architecture framework, how the deliverables contribute to the success of an enterprise architecture, how does each framework take a strategic approach to reduce complexity of enterprise architecture, and how the framework encompasses the Software Development Lifecycle. The Zachman Framework considers that there may be different perspectives, however, each perspective considers the requirements of the other and the restraints those may impose. It also allows for different levels of complexity, depth, and breadth of details for each cell of the matrix based upon the importance to a given organization. The Zachman Framework can be used to set standards and is also easy to use with other tools and methodologies. TOGAF offers flexibility and is easily adaptable for any organization. It ... • 14. Prince Hamlet Versus Machiavelli s Prince Essay Prince Hamlet Versus Machiavelli s Prince The Prince is a celebrated and highly controversial piece of work by the Italian aristocrat Niccolo Machiavelli. His work is a summation of all the qualities a prince must have in order to remain in his position. Machiavelli supports the idea that a prince use his power for the ultimate benefit of all, but he also does not condemn the use of any unpleasant means in order for the prince to maintain his power. His ideas both compare and contrast to the methods used by Prince Hamlet of Denmark in Shakespeare s Hamlet. Hamlet, as we know, struggles mightily to maintain his position as the prince, and one must wonder if this is due to some of the highly essential qualities outlined by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the beginning, Hamlet struggles to remain good at all times, but this only causes him extreme anguish. Hamlet must soon come to disregard his sense of morality in order to save himself, which is essentially exactly what Machiavelli professed one must do. He shows little remorse in killing Polonius, and he turns against his old friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Still, one has to believe that Hamlet is not without a conscience, because his desire for revenge is fulfilled only at the very end as he himself dies. Another point made within Machiavelli s writings is that a prince must strive to avoid hatred, yet at the same time, be feared by all those around him. Hamlet most certainly achieved the first goal, for I believe he was highly regarded by all his subjects, but he rarely acted in a way to inspire fear in those around him. Indeed, Polonius, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstem had no trouble plotting against him, because they had no fear that he would turn against them in a violent or malicious manner. On the other hand, I believe Hamlet was a threat to them once he began acting so insanely, because his actions were much more unpredictable. A key point is that men are fickle and constantly changing, as demonstrated by Hamlet himself, so one must be prepared for any turn of events. Machiavelli goes on to stress that while it can be beneficial to appear a good and honorable man, a prince must always be prepared to resort to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s warm and moist and is the color of old, stained and tattered sepia photographs of another time a time lost and forgotten somewhere in between addiction and sobriety; a time after the birth of our children but before the death of our parents; a time when love made sense and all the horror in the world couldn t knock us off the back of the unicorn we once believed into existence with enough conviction to make it as real as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Jesus and peace. In the book, Toward Perpetual Peace and Other Writings on politics, Peace and History , Immanuel Kant shows us that we can find purpose in a life that seems to lack purpose. By not presupposing individual purposiveness among humans, Kant discovers a natural purpose among all humanity. Through this fundamental idea, we can see that Kant discovers a universal history from a Cosmopolitan point of view. Cosmopolitanism centers around the idea that all of humanity belongs to a single community and is based on a mutual universal morality (among rational individuals). In the human being (as the only rational creature on earth), those natural predispositions aimed at the use of its reason are to be developed in full only in the species, but not in the individual. This can be interpreted in my perspective as genes. Since we are not immortal we must practice and perfect our skills, and by natures will, we pass our perfected genes on to the next generation so they may further perfect the skill in hopes of finding insight or enlightenment. If this is not to be nature s purpose for us, our natural capacities should be seen as without direction and useless. The Third Proposition states, Nature has willed that human beings produce everything that extends beyond the mechanical organization of their animal existence completely on their own, and that they shall not partake in any happiness or perfection other than that which they attain free of instinct and by means of their own reason (Kant, p. 5). Through this premise Kant is saying that nature takes nothing for granted. She is neither wasteful nor reckless with means to her goal. By giving women and men reason and free will, nature entails our purpose. Furthermore, nature did not purpose for us to live guided by instinct, as we lack instinctive knowledge to nurture ourselves and must learn everything ourselves without instruction, which also entails our purpose as reasoning things who must reason to survive and eventually ... • 19. Cost Benefit Analysis and Risk Assessment Essay Introduction: With regards to environmental policy, it is important for governments to consider concepts such as risk, economic efficiency and cost benefit. A common concern voiced by proponents of regulatory reform in recent decades has been that the costs associated with certain regulations outweigh the benefits that the regulations are intended to provide (Tengs Graham, 1996). Another, and somewhat related, view is that, more intelligent regulatory policies could achieve the same social goals (e.g., cleaner environment, safer workplaces) at less cost, or could achieve more ambitious goals at the same cost (Tengs Graham, 1996). For the latter, we must calculate net, marginal as well as total benefits (pg, 209, Vig Kraft, 2013). Economic efficiency requires that we find the policy that will give us the greatest net benefits the biggest difference between total benefits and total costs (pg.208, Vig Kraft, 2013). In this case the total benefits are considered as the total benefits of reducing pollution (pg.208, Vig Kraft, 2013). Perhaps, several concerns that Congress may have when using the cost benefit analysis are: assuring greater consistency in techniques, defining the respective roles of cost benefit and other related evaluation frameworks; and significantly increasing funds to do these analyses in a timely way (Moore, 1995) . Moreover, critics of benefit cost analysis object to placing a dollar value on environmental goods, suggesting that these priceless resources are devalued when traded in monetary terms (pg, 209, Vig Kraft, 2013) . Although no economic argument can suggest whether explicit or implicit consideration of benefits and costs is ethically preferable, the cost benefit analysis is used as one of many inputs to the consideration of policy choices (pg, 209, Vig Kraft, 2013). The main analytical advantages of the ICP over other excitation sources are: (1) Arrangement of elements could be measured in single analysis cycle (2) Accurate to determine elemental concentration (3) Capability for efficient and reproducible vaporization, atomization, excitation, and ionization for a wide range of elements in various sample matrices. This is probably due to the high temperature of about 6000 7000 K, in the observation zones of the ICP. This temperature is much higher than the maximum temperature of flames or furnaces of about (3300 K). The high temperature of the ICP also makes it capable of exciting refractory elements, and renders it less prone to matrix interferences (Xiandeng,H. Bradley, T.J. 2000).
