Albert Gonzalez Parents
Albert Gonzalez was born in 1981 in Cuba. Gonzalez s parents immigrated to the United States from
Cuba. He attended South Miami High School in Miami, Florida, where he was described as the
troubled pack leader of computer nerds. He bought his first computer when he was 12. When his
computer was infected with download virus, he took an interest in computer security.
By the time, he was 14 had hacked into NASA, which resulted in a visit by F.B.I. agents to his South
Miami high school and lived under house arrest for six months. After completion of school, he went to
Miami Dade College. During the first year of the college, he dropped out of college. He had taught

While in Kearny, he was accused of being the mastermind of a group of hackers called the
Shadowcrew group. He was a moderator and rising star on Shadowcrew.com website, an underground
cybercriminal market whose users traffic in stolen credit card data and share information about banks,
retailers, and other corporations vulnerable to cyber attacks.
This website created by a part time student in Arizona and a former mortgage broker in New Jersey.
Shadowcrew had hundreds of members across the United States, Europe, and Asia. He was arrested in
New Jersey in 2003 while working as an administrator for this website (Verini, 2010). After his arrest,

Baboon Cliques Research
It may seem odd for non human forms of life to form groups or cliques seeing to as it is a human
trait, but some species of animals actually do form cliques instinctively.Baboons and fish form social
groups between each other.Experiments were tested to prove that baboon clique idea was accurate. The
test began by setting out food likes bread rolls and hard boiled eggs on the edge of trails the animals
frequently journeyed to.The researchers kept up with time it took different animals to explore close
enough to check out the new foods and another for ones that had the courage to taste them. As
expected, the curious set of baboons all belonged to the same group. What caught the eye of the
scientists is that gender was not a factor. The monkeys

Social Hierarchy In Jacob s Life
The main character, Jacob, never expected his parents to fall out of his life. He had a happy life at
Cornell, he was well on his way to earning a degree in veterinary medicine when his parents were
killed in a car accident. He felt a sense of powerlessness, he felt lost. He had nowhere to go: his home
was empty, and no one was willing to take care of him. The mission in Jacob s life now turned into a
mission of survival. He had to learn to become much more dependent on himself. This was hard for
him, and led him to walk out of one of his final exams to become a vet. Once all hope was lost, he
found a circus that changed the course of his life. There he encountered more powerlessness and
survival, both circumstances he already knew. The world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the central figures in these hierarchy s use power and manipulation to cause others to become
powerless. One example of this today would general managers in baseball. They have the power and
authority to send players to the major leagues, or the minor leagues. Many of these players depend on
their salary from baseball to support themselves and their families. When the time comes for call ups,
many of the players are left out, similar to how many of the circus workers were left out and largely
ignored by Uncle Al. They are kept in the minor leagues, where the average salary is between $3,000
and $7,500 for a five month season. This salary is lower than a fast food workers, and is a testimony to
how minor leaguers are largely disregarded by the MLB. The general managers have the power to call
up and send down the players on his team at will, giving him a large amount of power. Another trait
that is relevant in our world today is survival. For MLB players, this is a concept they have gotten
very familiar with. In our generation, new technologies have been developed that show many aspects
of a players play on the baseball field. There is a lot of pressure on MLB players to be consistently
good, because the alternative of being sent down is one they don t want to face. This is very cruel, and
can also be seen in Water for Elephants. Many of the circus workers have to fight for duties that are
relevant to Uncle Al in order to get paid. Uncle Al is similar to a general manager in this regard, as he
can decide how much each person gets paid based on their role in the circus. Three baseball players
are suing the MLB with hope that they will raise the wages minor leaguers get paid, but there is little
hope. The MLB is exempt from an anti trust law, meaning that all of this is legal. The minor league
players all have hope that they can make the major leagues someday, but the reality is that few
actually do.

Hobbes Leviath Human Desire
Jaime Rivas
POL 004 Essay 2
Human Desire In Hobbes Leviathan, man s nature is given an arguably pessimistic description by
Hobbes, So that in the first place, I put for a general inclination of all mankind, a perpetual and
restless desire of power after power, that ceaseth only in death (58). This conclusion of man s nature
comes as the logical end point of his discussion of bodies in motion, power and other aspects of
human nature. The description of man s nature by Hobbes also becomes the fundamental base for his
argument for the state of nature being a state of war or even a war of all against all . Hobbes man and
his nature is the fundamental basis for the creation of Hobbes Leviathan in response to the state of
constant war ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These ideas of good and evil with our desires and aversions become the basis for Hobbes idea of
power which is The power of a man (to take it universally) is his present means to obtain some future
apparent good (50[1]). This interpretation of power by Hobbes states that the idea of power is the
ability to obtain objects which are good to you for the future or to state simply, it is to have a present
means to gain future desires. So, power by Hobbes terms is anything that aids you in gaining objects
of your desire either in the present or in the future, and it is this power which is man s main appetite
according to Hobbes. From this restless appetite comes Hobbes description of man s nature of restless
desire. Hobbes description of man s nature as a restless desire for power is the central foundation for
the creation of Hobbes state of nature. Life in what is considered a state of nature is the nature in the
condition without government. Hobbes states the scenario as the condition of mere nature (84[18]), a
state where no authority exist other than whatever authority, privacy, security or power an individual is
able to gain privately by themselves. Under this state of nature Hobbes assigns man a right of
preservation of themselves which he calls the right of nature (79[1]) where each man hath to use

Morality In Ignatius A Confederacy Of Dunces
Whereas Ignatius rather nonsensical pessimistic worldview comes from his sense of being morally
greater than his society (and, therefore, from looking at it in disgust), and from a position of general
opulence, Elie s stems from a macabre realization that all people, including himself, are bestial and
selfish, and from a position of total destitution. Ignatius believed himself to be a beacon of morality in
an otherwise dismal society. For instance, throughout A Confederacy of Dunces, he would write about
the evils of the hedonistic, bourgeois society in which he lived, and about how the world would be in a
much better position if based on the medieval principles (such as divine right and cruel forms of
torture) in which he subscribed were

The Distributive Style Of Negotiation
How do we explore getting more in the deal than what was originally discussed? Some may not feel
making the deal should mean adding more to it than the original bargain There is a lot of, what is in it
for me? And what do we get out of this deal? Negotiation deals have either integrative or distributive
properties. What are the contrasts between these two styles and what are their comparisons? This
paper will explore the styles and how they are able to help expand the deal. The distributive style of
negotiation is where both parties discuss a fixed sum or end state. Usually, one of the sides loses and
the other gains. A gain by one side is made at the expense of the other. This is also known as a zero
sum negotiation (Negotiating Outcomes, 2007). The integrative negotiation allows both parties to
cooperate and achieve maximum outcomes from the agreement. It is done by allowing both sides to
integrate their interests into the agreement. Each side makes trade offs to get the things it values most,
giving up other, less critical factors (Negotiating Outcomes, 2007). These two styles are the basics of
negotiation. One is more helpful in expanding the deal. The term, expanding the pie , should be
interpreted as building a larger agreement. Remember, it is not about gaining power at the expense of
other. Your having more power doesn t mean less power for the other person. The pie is expanded

Title:
An in vitro comparative evaluation of physical properties of four different types of core materials
Clinical Question:
What is the best core buildup material for a posterior tooth with significant decay that extends
subgingivally.
Clinical Relevance:
Patient presents with significant decay on a previously crowned tooth number 30 that has decay
extending subgingival.
Summary/Key results/Applicability:
The study compared four different core buildup material based on multiple categories: a dual cure
resin core ( Paracore), dual cure composite( Luxacore), silorane based composite(P 90 FiltekTm), and
amalgam core as the control group(1). 15 samples of each material were taken and placed in a
universal testing machine to determine their compressive strength, diametral tensile strength and
flexural strength levels. The results showed no statistically significant difference between the four
material in terms of compressive strength(1). The main trait that is necessary for resisting intraoral

highest and vitremer had the lowest compressive strengths (2).There was also significant differences
in flexural strength with fluorocore being the highest(2) and amalgam being the lowest. The low
flexural strength of the amalgam is evident in both studies(1,2). The study concludes that dual cure
core resins are great replacements for amalgam in posterior teeth due to their high strengths. The use

Moving Beyond Criminalization
Growing up, my father was a prosecutor. I always had this image of good versus evil and thought that
these bad people were sent to prisons to be punished for their actions. Throughout this course and
through the many readings we were assigned, I have started to see my perspective shift. These ideas of
putting people away for committing crimes has been so pounded in my brain over the last twenty
years that it is hard to perform a 180. Yet, I feel that know I have a deeper understanding of the
complexity to the prison and justice system, realizing that this notion of good v. evil is not reality.

Stereotyping Stereotypes
When we use stereotypes, we are criticizing someone, for example, when we say all police officers are
corrupt, all men who aren t into sports are gay or all blonde women are dumb. Stereotyping is a result
of incompetence on distorted information accepted as a fact without question. A stereotype is simply a
widely held belief that an individual is a member of a certain group based upon characteristics.
Stereotyping can be positive, for example, all Blacks are good at sports, all Asians are good at math or
French people are romantic. Stereotypes can also help identify how to interact with each other, for
example Canadians are exceptionally polite. Either way stereotyping is morally wrong and
judgmental. If your group is positively stereotyped in an area, then you can endure a lot more
frustration and difficultly before you assume or infer that you don t belong in that domain (Steele,
2010). This paper will focus on the origin of stereotyping, how stereotypes affect judgement and
behavior and will explore profiling versus stereotyping.
Stereotyping is defined as an oversimplified, usually pejorative, attitude people hold toward those
outside one s own experience who are different. They are a result of incomplete or distorted
information accepted as fact without question. A stereotype is simply a widely held belief that an
individual is a member of a certain group based on characteristics. Due to the process of
overgeneralization within social perception, stereotyping leads to a great deal of inaccuracy in social
perception (Chandler, n.d.). ##My stance is## Stereotyping is always morally wrong and judgmental.
How you reach your opinion of others makes it morally wrong, when you encounter someone for the
first time you should not have a prejudged notion of that person, first impressions should always start
from zero. The most ethical place to begin is to acknowledge that you have biases and stereotypes and
once your interaction starts then place them accordingly. Stereotyping is a mental shortcut and this isn
t always negative although we should be aware that we all harmlessly do it and must always be
conscious of it.
As humans, we want to associate quickly for instance, tiger, danger, don t

Same-Sex Couples Should Be Allowed To Raise Children
There is always a debate going on within the LGBTQ+ community. One conflict of interests questions
whether or not same sex couples should be allowed to raise children. People are claiming that
development is being affected by the young who are raised by a gay, lesbian, or bisexual couple.
Americans should start worrying about their own children. Those who are brought up with two
mommies or two daddies are not being affected in any way and should be treated no differently than
those with parents of the opposite gender.
Many arguments exist criticizing why same sex couples should not be parents. The main reason for
debate exists within the religious community. Those who are strict followers of the bible believe that
homosexuality is a sin. Therefore, they think this community should not be able to raise a child.
Another argument presented in this article is, children in will grow up to be lesbian or gay, if they are
brought up in a homosexual household. The author also explains that kids raised by two of the same
sex parent will be more likely to be bullied. It is true that children raised by a gay couple are more
likely to be harassed in school (Clarke ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These children do not have permanent homes and approximately 100,000 are eligible to be adopted. It
was not until 2015, when the Obergefell v. Hodges case was officially passed and legalized gay
marriage. This then gave the right for same sex couples to adopt a child together. Homosexual couples
outnumber heterosexual couples seeking to adopt. Which is great for, after the ratification of this law,
more opportunities are arising for children to be given a permanent home. However, discrimination
still exists. In some states, while it is not illegal for a gay couple to adopt, a law still exists, making it
easy for agencies to be biased because of their religious or moral objections (The Effects of Lesbian

Analysis Of Helft Mir, Ihr Schwestern
Analysis of Helft mir, ihr Schwestern Helft mir, ihr Schwestern is song number five from Robert
Schumann s song cycle Frauenliebe und leben. The song cycle was set to the text of a poem cycle of
the same name by Adelbert von Chamisso. Each poem in the cycle provides a glimpse into the story of
a woman falling in love with a man, getting engaged and married to him, getting pregnant and having
a child, becoming a widow and finally sharing her life story with her granddaughter. At the time that
Schumann wrote this song cycle, he was going through a legal battle with his future wife s father over
the right to marry her. This poem cycle contains themes of unending love, devotion, and longing that
Schumann could personally relate to with his feelings for Clara Wieck, who would soon become Clara
Schumann. In this essay, I will demonstrate how Frauenliebe und leben is directly reflective of Robert
Schumann s own life experiences. In so doing, I will be analyzing the ways in which Schumann set
the music in a fashion that emphasized the structure and emotional content of the poetry.
Robert Schumann used a variety of musical elements to support the text of Helft mir, ihr Schwestern
in both structurally and emotionally impactful ways. Each stanza of the poem has six lines, where the
third and sixth lines rhyme. With the setting of music to the poetry, three lines of text constitute a
phrase, and each stanza, in turn, has two phrases. This ultimately aligns the rhyme and phrase

John F. Kennedy s Civil Rights Speech
Does everyone deserve civil rights? John F. Kennedy believed so during the Civil Rights Movement.
The Civil Right Movement began around 1950 and ended around 1970. A few of the major leaders
were Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and John F. Kennedy. The purpose of the Civil Rights
Movement was to end discrimination and prejudice among whites and blacks. Many African
Americans did not have the same rights as Caucasians mainly due to their skin being a different color.
A famous speech delivered by John F. Kennedy was The Nation Faces a Moral Crisis Regarding Race

during the Civil Rights Movement by using the rhetorical devices of tone and repetition. Kennedy
advocates greater civil rights for African Americans. Because of increasing violence and chaos
between whites and blacks, Kennedy felt the need to address the nation concerning racism. In John F.

Difference Between A Resting Heart Rate
This experiment was conducted to see, what is the difference between a resting heart rate in girls and
boys compared to their scared heart rate. What was done to test the variable (heart rate) was I got each
person in a room alone and they watched a video ( YouTube ). They were told that it s a slide show of
different videos, because most people said, there s going to be a pop up . In the video that was shown
to them is a picture of a cat and it is on the screen for about 30 seconds then a scary woman screaming
pops up. The results concluded that the majority of people s heart rates went down. Going against the
hypothesis stated.
Introduction
Nearly 100,000 beats per day, or about 37 million beats per year; most of the time you are unaware
that your heart does this ( WebMD ). The question is, what is the difference between your resting heart
rate, compared to your scared heart rate. For the age group tested (12 16 year olds) their healthy heart
rates could vary between 70 and 100 beats per minute. The importance of this project is knowing if
you are pushing yourself too hard, and to know if certain things trigger unhealthy problems, like
horror movies. The hypothesis stated is, if you scare a person from a resting heart rate to a scared heart
rate their heart rate will increase because adrenaline is released into the blood.
In addition, heart rates vary according to exercise, physical needs, age, gender, air temperature, etc. In
this experiment the dependent variable

Frances Ha Essay
Frances Ha, released in 2012, is a film primarily focused on a young quirky white girl named Frances
who lives in New York City and is trying to figure out what she is supposed to be in her life. The film
is edited together as a series of montages that display her appealing character moving through a dark
period in her life where she is having trouble functioning as an adult, to where she discovers and
embraces what is in herself that she excels at. Nearly all of the scenes in the film have Frances as the
lead subject, only cutting away from her to show activities that are proceeding around her. Greta
Gerwig s unique professional career and personal life made her perfect for the lead role as Frances, a
character full of hopefulness, spontaneity and quirkiness. Although Greta s performance appears on

The Influence Of Copyright On Popular Culture
As of the early twenty first century, capitalism has been the dominant economic system in most parts
of the world and has had a huge influence on the production of popular culture. Geared towards the
generation of profit, a capitalistic economy ensures that individuals and corporations possess the
power of creating and distributing wealth, as opposed to the public or the state. In order to maximize
profit, as is the main goal for individuals in capitalism, copyright appears to have become one of many
tools used by corporations most directly involved in the culture industry.
Though copyright may have been originally developed with the thought that it would increase
indigenous culture production, it is not feasible for artists to create work ... Show more content on

Intimacy In Looking For Alaska
One hundred thirty six days before. We meet a loner, though not by choice but circumstance, named

Young (Green 131). Love is something Miles never expresses for Lara because they lacked the
emotional intimacy that Alaska and Miles shared. Now whether or not sixth graders would

We Are A Camera, By Nick Paumgarten
Although a memory may deteriorate over the span of years or even decades, a photograph will last a
lifetime. Images are more than an object to have for safe keeping. In his article, We Are A Camera,
Nick Paumgarten discusses the uprising of the popular recording device known as the GoPro. This
device is used to record events and experiences from different perspectives, whether that is from
underwater or zip lining through a forest in a first person view. Moreover, videos and photography

Essay about Salvation by Langston Hughes
Salvation by Langston Hughes
Salvation , by Langston Hughes is part of an autobiographical work written in 1940. The author
narrates a story centering on a revival gathering that happened in his childhood. During the days
leading up to the event, Hughes aunt tells him repeatedly that he will be saved , stressing that he will
see a light and Jesus will come into his life. He attends the meeting but when Jesus fails to appear, he
is forced by peer pressure to lie and go up and be saved . Hughes uses his story to illustrate how easy
it is for children to misinterpret adults and subsequently become disillusioned.
Adults sometimes forget that children communicate on a much more literal level than they do; their

As time passed the congregation became more and more animated, wailing for Hughes to come up and
be saved. Hughes became more and more impatient and extremely agitated. At the same time he must
have been very curious as to why all the others were going up to the altar.
During childhood we begin to learn the meaning of integrity. Having patiently awaited Jesus?
appearance for what must have seemed an interminable amount of time, the pressure on Hughes to get
up and go to the altar must have been ponderous. Finally, when Jesus failed to make an appearance
that evening Hughes had a choice of continuing to wait or rising and satisfying the expectations of the
congregation. In making his decision to approach the altar, Hughes is fearful, as most children are
when disobeying the ?rules?. Hughes? reticence in coming forward probably reflects his type of up
bringing, and he watches his friend to see what punishment God will mete out and bases his decision
on the fact that nothing appears to happen. In embracing his friend Westley?s deception, in being
saved without seeing Jesus, and because of his own up bringing, Hughes had to acknowledge his own
dishonesty.
Children trust the words of adults and despite the misunderstanding associated with the words his aunt
used, Hughes believed her unquestionably. Later that evening when his aunt heard Hughes crying in
bed, she assumed it is because he had been moved by his experience at church in receiving

Starvation, Illness and Death of the Native Americans in...
One of the greatest injustices of American history included, starvation, illness, and death. These
hardships were undeservingly forced upon an innocent group of people the Native Americans. One
may think that the Trail of Tears was only a simple journey the Indians made to discover new
frontiers. This is not the case. The Trail of Tears was the result of the white man s selfishness, causing
Indians to lose their homes and belongings. The act was full of unfair treatment, cruelty, and
heartlessness. This tragic event took place in the nineteenth century, and was mostly initiated by
President Andrew Jackson. In 1814, Jackson proposed an idea for a new act called the Indian Removal
Act. (pbs) This act was not widely accepted throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was because their right of occupancy was subordinate to the United States right of discovery. In
response to the great threat this posed, the Creeks, Cherokee, and Chickasaw instituted policies of
restricting land sales to the government. They wanted to protect what remained of their land before it
was too late (pbs).
Jackson had always appeared to want all of the Indians gone. He decided that he could propose a law
that would force every Indian to evacuate. The purpose of making them leave was so that the white
men could come in, search for gold, and gain other various benefits
Reeves 4 associated with the land. As one can see, Jackson always wanted to get rid of the Indians and
had no intention of being on their side.
In an 1829 letter to the Congress of the United States, Gov. George Gilmer Charged the Cherokee
Nation with violation of Georgia s sovereignty. He reiterated his demand that the Cherokees dissolve
their republican government, submit to the laws of the state, renounce their claim to territory within
Georgia s chartered boundaries, and move west of the Mississippi River (Anderson 55).
Following this incident was yet another issue involving Georgia s State court. In May 1830, congress
passed the Indian Removal Act by one vote (Salas 20). The Cherokee Indians were extremely
displeased with this decision, and wanted to go to court

The Ideas On Social Reform
yler Skeen
HIST 281
11/16/2016
Lest we forget at least an over the shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our
legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins
or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so
effectively that he at least won his own kingdom Lucifer (Alinsky, Personal Acknowledgement). Saul
Alinsky was a social reformer during the Cold War era in American History. He published Rules For
Radicals in 1971. As the name implies, the manifesto contains some radical ideas on social reform.
The manifesto outlines the ethics, tactics and philosophy of how to successfully shift power from the
Haves to the Have nots. Alinsky created a controversial body of propaganda in the way he challenges
core moral values of American beliefs for the time period such as Capitalism and the class system. He
further challenges American beliefs by questioning the foundational ideologies of Americans such as
the extent of equality, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. To argue that Saul Alinsky s Rules For
Radicals does not have radical ideals is a misconception as the document challenges the class system
created by inequality, however, Saul Alinsky s vision in Rules For Radicals ethics, tactics and
philosophy is represented by ideals of equality, liberty and justice making the manifesto a continuum
of traditional American ideals fueled by the idea

Messages In The Perils Of Indifference By Elie Wiesel
Author, Elie Wiesel in his morose yet optimistic speech, The Perils of Indifference, asserts that
indifference is dangerous and we as individuals, a nation, and a global community should learn from
the indifference of the past. He supports his message by revealing his past experience through the eyes
of a young boy who witnessed the Holocaust and America s eyes full of rage as a reaction to the
survivors pain. Additionally, Wiesel describes many other events that have occurred, for example, like
Cambodia, resulting in violent suffering and mass indifference. The sinful act of indifference is
something that everyone should fear as Wiesel describes it. Lastly, he warns the audience that we need
to prepare ourselves for what is yet to come, for the past is going to repeat itself if we do not learn
from our mistakes. Wiesel s purpose is to inform readers about indifference as well as the negative
outcomes that come with it in order to bring about a change in humanity. The author establishes a
serious tone for readers by using stylistic devices such as repetition, rhetorical questions, and imagery
in order to achieve his message that indifference is a danger we the future will interact with, but still
hope never comes.
Horrifyingly so, the holocaust is not the only indifferent caused event Wiesel mentions in The Peril of
Indifference. An event much like the holocaust, Cambodia had labor camps where physical abuse,
disease, exhaustion, and starvation were extremely prevalent, killing about 1.7 2 million Cambodians
during Khmer Rouge s 4 year reign. Although scholars and others in the West tried to bring attention
to the atrocities being committed, no one actually stepped in to help prevent this from continuing. No
one in Cambodia resisted because they couldn t think of a plan to since the doctors, teachers and other
educated people, as well as monks, the rich, and anyone perceived to be in opposition were tortured
and killed. Children and babies were not exempt from their cruelty; it was often noted to stop the
weeds you must also pull up their roots. Many of the Khmer Rouge s members escaped to Thailand

Eye Opening Trip To The Caribbean Essay
The Eye Opening Trip to The Caribbean It was a Sunday morning in the middle of May when our
family was on our way to the Caribbean. With that being said, we had a long 14 hour flight ahead of
us, but the sky was blue and we were all filled up with excitement as to what would come next. I had
never been in the Caribbean before and I did not know what to except. As we sat impatiently waiting
to board our plane, I started writing my diary for the trip. Because we were going to be away for a
good month or even more, I had to write a diary of my experiences and what I learned so that I could
turn it in when I got back to school. As I began writing, I started to brainstorm of what I thought it was
going to be like being in a very different culture with people you had never seen before. As a blond,
young girl, I did not know much about different cultures as I am from a country with very little
diversity. The only thing I knew was that the Caribbean was far, ... Show more content on

Later on, we swam into the Island and met the rest of the family. We sat down in the shadows of a

we had something to eat we strolled down to the beach and that was when it happened, the rare

Philosophy During the 1930 s What significant changes occurred in the field of Philosophy during the
1930s?
Philosophy is not just the intellectual activity that people engage in, but it is a subject matter worth
studying. The word philosophy comes from two words; philein which means love and soph wisdom,
having this in mind, philosophy can be defined as the love of wisdom. Philosophy is not a single
subject which is unified but it can be subdivided into small fields that include logic, ethics, political,
aesthetics, epistemology and metaphysics and other small groupings. Philosophy has continued to
change over the years and this paper will intelligently discuss various changes that have happened in
different subfields of philosophy. The paper will also document the implications that these changes
has brought in the field of philosophy.
Naturalism theory was declined in the 1930 s. Naturalism believed that all beings and events in this
world are natural. Naturalism denies the existence of supernatural realities. Naturalism encountered a
great vogue in 1930 when many critics came up against its beliefs. During this period, Rahv, Trilling
and Cowley came up with critics against this concept (Purcell, 2013). These philosophers attacked the

Introduction:
Public services had been argued to have a more strategic outlook for factors such as ageing

what difficulties remain for pubic managers trying to do so, as well as how can a successful strategy
can help managers to overcome and focus on the external and internal environment of the

Ground sloths are a diverse group of extinct sloths, in the mammalian superorder Xenarthra. The term
ground sloth is used as a reference for all extinct sloths because of the large size of the earliest forms
discovered, as opposed to the extant tree sloths. However, this is a historical convention and should
not imply that all extinct sloths were strictly terrestrial in nature.[1] Their most recent survivors lived
in the Antilles, where it has been proposed they may have survived until 1550 BCE;[2] however,
radiocarbon dating suggests an age of between 2819 and 2660 BCE for the last known occurrence of

people throughout the country. She was most appreciated by the poorer working class in the country.
The working class championed behind Eva Perón not necessarily because of who she was, but what
she represented. Eva was born an illegitimate, poor child. Her father died, leaving her and her siblings
to be raised by their mother, his mistress. He left no assets, only an allowance to use his last name.
Eva ran away from home at 15 to go to Buenos Aires. Here she managed to rise to the top by carefully

opinion in her direction. She would go on huge tours across Europe where she would wear extravagant

her real goal. However she was not loved by all. The country s military leaders hated this young

II.BASIC CONCEPTS
II.A NEURON
The human brain is a collection of concerning 10 billion interconnected neurons. Every single neuron
is a cell that uses biochemical replies to accord, procedure and send information. It is an electrically
excitable cell that procedures and transmits data across mechanical and chemical signals. These
signals amid neurons transpire via synapses, enumerated connections alongside supplementary cells.
Neurons can link to every single supplementary to form neural networks. A neuron s dendritic tree is
related to a thousand bordering neurons. As one of those neuron fires, an affirmative or negative price
is consented by one of the dendrites.

The Achaemenid Persian Empire (559 330 B.C.) As we are introduced to the Great Persian Empire,

only establish and prosper their world dominant empire, but to maintain it for over two centuries. The
thesis of the book, Day of Empire by Amy Chua, is about the study of colossal power and the
conditions needed to maintain it . Not only this, but it discusses the contest between ethnic purity and
ethnic pluralism . Amy Chua argues that The Achaemenid Persian Empire was one of the first hyper

a whole began. Although we do not have the exact facts from this late time period, historians have
studied Greek depictions of increasing brutality and repression of the later Achaemenid kings,
provoking violent uprisings among the subject people. (Day of Empire pg. 21) The pivotal point of
failure occurred when Darius III took the power of the Empire. During this time, growing intolerance,
unrest, and violence (Day of Empire pg. 21) was happening amongst the subject peoples. As more and
more people were conquered, the Persian Empire had so many diverse people that there was no unity
amongst the Persian Empire. Soon, the whole empire came to a fall when Alexander of Macedon
began to conquer cities and replace the Persian

Randall Jarrell Poem
In his poems, Randall Jarrell creates feeling verging on sentimentality. The use of children as
characters or a child s point of view creates nostalgia every person can identify with. Childlike themes
like fairy tales or the use of dream work add to the nostalgia and sentiment. The personae of the poems
make them more dramatic, and distance Jarrell from the story of the poem, to add the emotional effect
that wouldn t be there if it were his own point of view. His main choices of characters almost routinely
being children, soldiers, invalids, or prisoners, all of whom are people who suffer easily. The use of a
suffering personae allows Jarrel to convey sympathy and indignation for his character, his attitude
toward those cornered beings who inhabit his poems is invariably sympathetic; he never mocks them;
he is never impatient ( Humphrey 124). It shows the softer side to the stories, while they are conveyed
by the broken and suffering, they are not chastised or disrespected. His repetitive use of ... Show more

Sometimes he didn t quite reach it, but at his best moments he surpassed sentimentality. He tells
stories of loneliness, the world s failure to keep us, and failure to keep each other. (Williamson)All of
his poems could have childhood based meanings, rooting to woes of separation he experienced
himself. The child characters he uses are obvious objectifications of the fears and hostilities that
marred Jarrell s childhood as well as our own (Beck 177). He so accurately conveys the emotions
because he, like many others, personally experienced them. The themes of sentimentality carried into
his own life, which create the relatable emotions that are universally felt. His work is a story that
resonates with the earliest, most forgotten experiences of life (Williamson 204). The memories of
which lie in the subconscious, and are brought forth through his dream works, and their developed

Islamic Teachings And Principles Of Isis
Humom Asamarai
Eng 1021.32
Final Draft 3
Poindexter
Inevitable Blowback Many claim that ISIS has been created as a result of Islamic teachings and
principles. This is false. Islam has existed for over 1,400 years. If the above claim had an ounce of
truth to it, ISIS would have emerged long ago. Constant instability in the Middle East and the struggle
for political power in the region are some, but not all of the reasons for ISIS existence. State
sponsored Islamophobia and fear mongering of Muslims in America are largely contributing causes to
the creation of barbaric groups such as ISIS. As a result of the tragic events that took place on 9/11,
Islamophobia was born. It has been over a decade and Islamophobia is not only still existent, but it s
unfortunately growing in the heart of the average American more and more each day. For this we can
thank our lovely media. Muslims are being targeted at every corner. In this country, you are taught by
society to fear Islam. You are led to think that it is a violent cult that preaches hate and teaches
violence. The sad part is, whether Islam does any of this is still a question that is being debated. Only
just recently, CNN attacked Reza Aslan during a live interview for not condemning the religion of
Islam and its teachings. When he replied and defended Islam with supporting facts, they attacked him
for being hostile. In this country, you are taught that Muslims hate your great American freedom, even
though Muslim and American

Financial Statements Are Tied Together
1. Walk me through how major financial statements are tied together.
The income statement shows the net income, which adds to retained earnings on the balance sheet.
The Cash flow statement describes the changes in cash in the balance sheet from one year to the next.
2. What is the impact of different depreciation methods on the bottom line?
More depreciation now, means more recorded expenses, which means a lower net income and a lower
tax payment.
3. Depreciation is a non cash expense. How come depreciation changes have cash consequences?
Depreciation affects net income which effects the tax expense, this tax expense is paid with cash, so
there are cash consequences to the amount and method of depreciation.

Value investors use a variety of analytical techniques in order to estimate the intrinsic value of
securities in hopes of finding investments where the true value of the investment exceeds its current
market value.
8. Walk me through how DCF model works.
The DCF model attempts to find the intrinsic value of the firm based on all the estimated future cash
flows. Then those cash flows are discounted to a present value, and the sum of those discounted cash
flows is the estimated intrinsic value of the firm.
9. Describe the process of computing free cash flows.
EBIT(1 Tax Rate) + [Depreciation Amortization] [Change in Net Working Capital] [Capital
Expenditure]
10. What is the discount rate used in DCF Modeling?
Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC)
11. The biggest weakness of the DCF model is ____?
The assumptions, relies on making many assumptions about the future of the market that can vary
drastically from analyst to analyst.
12. The main drivers of the DCF Model are:
Growth rate, discount rate, free cash flows.
13. What is the present value of a set of positive cash flows that are growing at 15% and the relative
discount rate is 12%
This perpetuity would have a hypothetically infinite value because growth rate exceeds discount rate.
14. What is WACC?
WACC is the weighted average cost of capital, it estimates the firms ability to raise new funds by
either selling debt or equity. Using financial weights, the WACC balances these two different methods

An Analysis Of Madeleine L Engle s A Wrinkle In Time
In the given passage from A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L Engle the main character, Meg, gives a
tone of misery as she discusses the story of her father s disappearance with Calvin. Meg first shows
this tone when the passage says, Nothing happened, Meg said. That s the trouble. Well, what about
your father s letters? They just stopped coming. You haven t heard anything at all? No, Meg said.
Nothing. Her voice was heavy with misery. In the last sentence it says that Meg s voice is heavy with
misery, therefore, showing that she has been miserable since her father left, this also sets a tone of
misery for the reader. Meg next sets a tone of misery when in the text it says, Again Meg leaped up,
and again Calvin pulled her down. No!

Perfume Character Analysis
Patrick Süskind s seminal 1985 novel, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, achieves that rare feat of
creating a main character that portrays a protagonist that lacks conventional heroic qualities or in other
literature term, an anti hero. The novel discusses the main character Grenouille, who became an
infamous criminal who lived in the unhygienic and uprising rebellion in Paris, France, 18th century.
He had experienced life chiefly through his highly developed sense of smell. Süskind s did a
marvelous job in portraying personality traits that can be attributed and recognized to an actual serial
killer. Moreover, he has been more in depth within Grenouille s personality by adding common mental
disabilities and psychological abuse that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

any logical or spiritual reasoning, it would lead them to the idea that the person or object considers
being abnormal. Without a possession of a personal fragrance, he was titled as unidentified and
abominable. This led him the absence of someone to guide him and comprehending the difference
between what is considered morally right or wrong. On a contrary, unlike Grenouille, Ed Gein
isolation was due to the fault of parental guidance. Gein lived a repressive and solitary life on his
family homestead with a weak brother, violent unemployed alcoholic father, and domineering mother.
His mother, moved into a desolate location to prevent outsiders from influencing her sons. ( Ed Gein:
Real American Psycho. Ed Gein: Real American Psycho.) Gein only left the premises to go to school
and she blocked any attempt he made to pursue friendships. With a slight growth over one eye and an
effeminate demeanor, the young Gein became a target for bullies. His mother made a habit of
punishing her boys for even trying to make friends. Despite receiving a substantial amount of abuse
from his mother, Gein was obsessed with pleasing her. His mother, a devoted and fanatical Lutheran,
drummed into her boys the innate immorality of the world, the evil of drink and the belief that all
women (herself excluded) were prostitutes and lewd. When

  • 4. Social Hierarchy In Jacob s Life The main character, Jacob, never expected his parents to fall out of his life. He had a happy life at Cornell, he was well on his way to earning a degree in veterinary medicine when his parents were killed in a car accident. He felt a sense of powerlessness, he felt lost. He had nowhere to go: his home was empty, and no one was willing to take care of him. The mission in Jacob s life now turned into a mission of survival. He had to learn to become much more dependent on himself. This was hard for him, and led him to walk out of one of his final exams to become a vet. Once all hope was lost, he found a circus that changed the course of his life. There he encountered more powerlessness and survival, both circumstances he already knew. The world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the central figures in these hierarchy s use power and manipulation to cause others to become powerless. One example of this today would general managers in baseball. They have the power and authority to send players to the major leagues, or the minor leagues. Many of these players depend on their salary from baseball to support themselves and their families. When the time comes for call ups, many of the players are left out, similar to how many of the circus workers were left out and largely ignored by Uncle Al. They are kept in the minor leagues, where the average salary is between $3,000 and $7,500 for a five month season. This salary is lower than a fast food workers, and is a testimony to how minor leaguers are largely disregarded by the MLB. The general managers have the power to call up and send down the players on his team at will, giving him a large amount of power. Another trait that is relevant in our world today is survival. For MLB players, this is a concept they have gotten very familiar with. In our generation, new technologies have been developed that show many aspects of a players play on the baseball field. There is a lot of pressure on MLB players to be consistently good, because the alternative of being sent down is one they don t want to face. This is very cruel, and can also be seen in Water for Elephants. Many of the circus workers have to fight for duties that are relevant to Uncle Al in order to get paid. Uncle Al is similar to a general manager in this regard, as he can decide how much each person gets paid based on their role in the circus. Three baseball players are suing the MLB with hope that they will raise the wages minor leaguers get paid, but there is little hope. The MLB is exempt from an anti trust law, meaning that all of this is legal. The minor league players all have hope that they can make the major leagues someday, but the reality is that few actually do. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Hobbes Leviath Human Desire Jaime Rivas POL 004 Essay 2 Human Desire In Hobbes Leviathan, man s nature is given an arguably pessimistic description by Hobbes, So that in the first place, I put for a general inclination of all mankind, a perpetual and restless desire of power after power, that ceaseth only in death (58). This conclusion of man s nature comes as the logical end point of his discussion of bodies in motion, power and other aspects of human nature. The description of man s nature by Hobbes also becomes the fundamental base for his argument for the state of nature being a state of war or even a war of all against all . These ideas of good and evil with our desires and aversions become the basis for Hobbes idea of power which is The power of a man (to take it universally) is his present means to obtain some future apparent good (50[1]). This interpretation of power by Hobbes states that the idea of power is the ability to obtain objects which are good to you for the future or to state simply, it is to have a present means to gain future desires. So, power by Hobbes terms is anything that aids you in gaining objects of your desire either in the present or in the future, and it is this power which is man s main appetite according to Hobbes. From this restless appetite comes Hobbes description of man s nature of restless desire. Hobbes description of man s nature as a restless desire for power is the central foundation for the creation of Hobbes state of nature. Life in what is considered a state of nature is the nature in the condition without government. Hobbes states the scenario as the condition of mere nature (84[18]), a state where no authority exist other than whatever authority, privacy, security or power an individual is able to gain privately by themselves. • 8. The Distributive Style Of Negotiation How do we explore getting more in the deal than what was originally discussed? Some may not feel making the deal should mean adding more to it than the original bargain There is a lot of, what is in it for me? And what do we get out of this deal? Negotiation deals have either integrative or distributive properties. What are the contrasts between these two styles and what are their comparisons? This paper will explore the styles and how they are able to help expand the deal. The distributive style of negotiation is where both parties discuss a fixed sum or end state. Usually, one of the sides loses and the other gains. A gain by one side is made at the expense of the other. This is also known as a zero sum negotiation (Negotiating Outcomes, 2007). The integrative negotiation allows both parties to cooperate and achieve maximum outcomes from the agreement. It is done by allowing both sides to integrate their interests into the agreement. Each side makes trade offs to get the things it values most, giving up other, less critical factors (Negotiating Outcomes, 2007). These two styles are the basics of negotiation. One is more helpful in expanding the deal. The term, expanding the pie , should be interpreted as building a larger agreement. Remember, it is not about gaining power at the expense of other. Your having more power doesn t mean less power for the other person. The pie is expanded (Diamond, S., 2010). What is expanding the pie? It is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Stereotyping Stereotypes When we use stereotypes, we are criticizing someone, for example, when we say all police officers are corrupt, all men who aren t into sports are gay or all blonde women are dumb. Stereotyping is a result of incompetence on distorted information accepted as a fact without question. A stereotype is simply a widely held belief that an individual is a member of a certain group based upon characteristics. Stereotyping can be positive, for example, all Blacks are good at sports, all Asians are good at math or French people are romantic. Stereotypes can also help identify how to interact with each other, for example Canadians are exceptionally polite. Either way stereotyping is morally wrong and judgmental. If your group is positively stereotyped in an area, then you can endure a lot more frustration and difficultly before you assume or infer that you don t belong in that domain (Steele, 2010). This paper will focus on the origin of stereotyping, how stereotypes affect judgement and behavior and will explore profiling versus stereotyping. Stereotyping is defined as an oversimplified, usually pejorative, attitude people hold toward those outside one s own experience who are different. They are a result of incomplete or distorted information accepted as fact without question. A stereotype is simply a widely held belief that an individual is a member of a certain group based on characteristics. Due to the process of overgeneralization within social perception, stereotyping leads to a great deal of inaccuracy in social perception (Chandler, n.d.). ##My stance is## Stereotyping is always morally wrong and judgmental. How you reach your opinion of others makes it morally wrong, when you encounter someone for the first time you should not have a prejudged notion of that person, first impressions should always start from zero. The most ethical place to begin is to acknowledge that you have biases and stereotypes and once your interaction starts then place them accordingly. Stereotyping is a mental shortcut and this isn t always negative although we should be aware that we all harmlessly do it and must always be conscious of it. As humans, we want to associate quickly for instance, tiger, danger, don t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Same-Sex Couples Should Be Allowed To Raise Children There is always a debate going on within the LGBTQ+ community. One conflict of interests questions whether or not same sex couples should be allowed to raise children. People are claiming that development is being affected by the young who are raised by a gay, lesbian, or bisexual couple. Americans should start worrying about their own children. Those who are brought up with two mommies or two daddies are not being affected in any way and should be treated no differently than those with parents of the opposite gender. Many arguments exist criticizing why same sex couples should not be parents. The main reason for debate exists within the religious community. Those who are strict followers of the bible believe that homosexuality is a sin. Therefore, they think this community should not be able to raise a child. Another argument presented in this article is, children in will grow up to be lesbian or gay, if they are brought up in a homosexual household. The author also explains that kids raised by two of the same sex parent will be more likely to be bullied. Homosexual couples outnumber heterosexual couples seeking to adopt. Which is great for, after the ratification of this law, more opportunities are arising for children to be given a permanent home. However, discrimination still exists. In some states, while it is not illegal for a gay couple to adopt, a law still exists, making it easy for agencies to be biased because of their religious or moral objections (The Effects of Lesbian and Gay Parenting ... • 13. Analysis Of Helft Mir, Ihr Schwestern Analysis of Helft mir, ihr Schwestern Helft mir, ihr Schwestern is song number five from Robert Schumann s song cycle Frauenliebe und leben. The song cycle was set to the text of a poem cycle of the same name by Adelbert von Chamisso. Each poem in the cycle provides a glimpse into the story of a woman falling in love with a man, getting engaged and married to him, getting pregnant and having a child, becoming a widow and finally sharing her life story with her granddaughter. At the time that Schumann wrote this song cycle, he was going through a legal battle with his future wife s father over the right to marry her. This poem cycle contains themes of unending love, devotion, and longing that Schumann could personally relate to with his feelings for Clara Wieck, who would soon become Clara Schumann. In this essay, I will demonstrate how Frauenliebe und leben is directly reflective of Robert Schumann s own life experiences. In so doing, I will be analyzing the ways in which Schumann set the music in a fashion that emphasized the structure and emotional content of the poetry. Robert Schumann used a variety of musical elements to support the text of Helft mir, ihr Schwestern in both structurally and emotionally impactful ways. Each stanza of the poem has six lines, where the third and sixth lines rhyme. With the setting of music to the poetry, three lines of text constitute a phrase, and each stanza, in turn, has two phrases. This ultimately aligns the rhyme and phrase ... The Civil Right Movement began around 1950 and ended around 1970. A few of the major leaders were Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and John F. Kennedy. The purpose of the Civil Rights Movement was to end discrimination and prejudice among whites and blacks. Many African Americans did not have the same rights as Caucasians mainly due to their skin being a different color. A famous speech delivered by John F. In The Nation Faces a Moral Crisis in Regard to Race , John F. Kennedy inspires his intended audience during the Civil Rights Movement by using the rhetorical devices of tone and repetition. Kennedy advocates greater civil rights for African Americans. Because of increasing violence and chaos between whites and blacks, Kennedy felt the need to address the nation concerning racism. What was done to test the variable (heart rate) was I got each person in a room alone and they watched a video ( YouTube ). They were told that it s a slide show of different videos, because most people said, there s going to be a pop up . In the video that was shown to them is a picture of a cat and it is on the screen for about 30 seconds then a scary woman screaming pops up. The results concluded that the majority of people s heart rates went down. Going against the hypothesis stated. The question is, what is the difference between your resting heart rate, compared to your scared heart rate. For the age group tested (12 16 year olds) their healthy heart rates could vary between 70 and 100 beats per minute. The importance of this project is knowing if you are pushing yourself too hard, and to know if certain things trigger unhealthy problems, like horror movies. The hypothesis stated is, if you scare a person from a resting heart rate to a scared heart rate their heart rate will increase because adrenaline is released into the blood. The film is edited together as a series of montages that display her appealing character moving through a dark period in her life where she is having trouble functioning as an adult, to where she discovers and embraces what is in herself that she excels at. In order to maximize profit, as is the main goal for individuals in capitalism, copyright appears to have become one of many tools used by corporations most directly involved in the culture industry. When Alaska falls asleep atop of Miles that same night, he says, I love you Alaska Young (Green 131). • 21. We Are A Camera, By Nick Paumgarten Although a memory may deteriorate over the span of years or even decades, a photograph will last a lifetime. Images are more than an object to have for safe keeping. In his article, We Are A Camera, Nick Paumgarten discusses the uprising of the popular recording device known as the GoPro. This device is used to record events and experiences from different perspectives, whether that is from underwater or zip lining through a forest in a first person view. Moreover, videos and photography allow people to capture images to reminisce about past experiences, to share these moments with others, and even remember those whom you have lost. There are countless debates about how distracting cell phones and other electronic devices can be however, they can still be used in positive ways, such as capturing images. Images are a way of recalling events or memories. Certainly, with these images a person would depict a picture far more vividly than what they could have conjured up by simply trying to remember the moment. After going through a great experience, people tend to want to reflect and rejoice at what they had done or gone through. The most memorable moment of my past would have to be my seventh birthday party. It was a small surprise in the middle of a park in Fort Lauderdale on a scorching hot day. I recall playing soccer on the grassy plains, receiving gifts and the abundance of laughter in the air. The only problem is, I only remember vague images in my mind that I pieced ... • 22. Essay about Salvation by Langston Hughes Salvation by Langston Hughes Salvation , by Langston Hughes is part of an autobiographical work written in 1940. The author narrates a story centering on a revival gathering that happened in his childhood. During the days leading up to the event, Hughes aunt tells him repeatedly that he will be saved , stressing that he will see a light and Jesus will come into his life. He attends the meeting but when Jesus fails to appear, he is forced by peer pressure to lie and go up and be saved . Hughes uses his story to illustrate how easy it is for children to misinterpret adults and subsequently become disillusioned. Adults sometimes forget that children communicate on a much more literal level than they do; their conversation is often ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As time passed the congregation became more and more animated, wailing for Hughes to come up and be saved. Hughes became more and more impatient and extremely agitated. At the same time he must have been very curious as to why all the others were going up to the altar. During childhood we begin to learn the meaning of integrity. Having patiently awaited Jesus? appearance for what must have seemed an interminable amount of time, the pressure on Hughes to get up and go to the altar must have been ponderous. Finally, when Jesus failed to make an appearance that evening Hughes had a choice of continuing to wait or rising and satisfying the expectations of the congregation. In making his decision to approach the altar, Hughes is fearful, as most children are when disobeying the ?rules?. Hughes? reticence in coming forward probably reflects his type of up bringing, and he watches his friend to see what punishment God will mete out and bases his decision on the fact that nothing appears to happen. In embracing his friend Westley?s deception, in being saved without seeing Jesus, and because of his own up bringing, Hughes had to acknowledge his own dishonesty. Children trust the words of adults and despite the misunderstanding associated with the words his aunt used, Hughes believed her unquestionably. Later that evening when his aunt heard Hughes crying in bed, she assumed it is because he had been moved by his experience at church in receiving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These hardships were undeservingly forced upon an innocent group of people the Native Americans. One may think that the Trail of Tears was only a simple journey the Indians made to discover new frontiers. This is not the case. The Trail of Tears was the result of the white man s selfishness, causing Indians to lose their homes and belongings. The act was full of unfair treatment, cruelty, and heartlessness. This tragic event took place in the nineteenth century, and was mostly initiated by President Andrew Jackson. In 1814, Jackson proposed an idea for a new act called the Indian Removal Act. He decided that he could propose a law that would force every Indian to evacuate. The purpose of making them leave was so that the white men could come in, search for gold, and gain other various benefits Reeves 4 associated with the land. As one can see, Jackson always wanted to get rid of the Indians and had no intention of being on their side. In an 1829 letter to the Congress of the United States, Gov. The Ideas On Social Reform yler Skeen HIST 281 11/16/2016 Lest we forget at least an over the shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom Lucifer (Alinsky, Personal Acknowledgement). Saul Alinsky was a social reformer during the Cold War era in American History. He published Rules For Radicals in 1971. As the name implies, the manifesto contains some radical ideas on social reform. The manifesto outlines the ethics, tactics and philosophy of how to successfully shift power from the Haves to the Have nots. Alinsky created a controversial body of propaganda in the way he challenges core moral values of American beliefs for the time period such as Capitalism and the class system. He further challenges American beliefs by questioning the foundational ideologies of Americans such as the extent of equality, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. To argue that Saul Alinsky s Rules For Radicals does not have radical ideals is a misconception as the document challenges the class system created by inequality, however, Saul Alinsky s vision in Rules For Radicals ethics, tactics and philosophy is represented by ideals of equality, liberty and justice making the manifesto a continuum of traditional American ideals fueled by the idea ... • 25. Messages In The Perils Of Indifference By Elie Wiesel Author, Elie Wiesel in his morose yet optimistic speech, The Perils of Indifference, asserts that indifference is dangerous and we as individuals, a nation, and a global community should learn from the indifference of the past. He supports his message by revealing his past experience through the eyes of a young boy who witnessed the Holocaust and America s eyes full of rage as a reaction to the survivors pain. Additionally, Wiesel describes many other events that have occurred, for example, like Cambodia, resulting in violent suffering and mass indifference. The sinful act of indifference is something that everyone should fear as Wiesel describes it. Lastly, he warns the audience that we need to prepare ourselves for what is yet to come, for the past is going to repeat itself if we do not learn from our mistakes. Wiesel s purpose is to inform readers about indifference as well as the negative outcomes that come with it in order to bring about a change in humanity. The author establishes a serious tone for readers by using stylistic devices such as repetition, rhetorical questions, and imagery in order to achieve his message that indifference is a danger we the future will interact with, but still hope never comes. Horrifyingly so, the holocaust is not the only indifferent caused event Wiesel mentions in The Peril of Indifference. An event much like the holocaust, Cambodia had labor camps where physical abuse, disease, exhaustion, and starvation were extremely prevalent, killing about 1.7 2 million Cambodians during Khmer Rouge s 4 year reign. Although scholars and others in the West tried to bring attention to the atrocities being committed, no one actually stepped in to help prevent this from continuing. No one in Cambodia resisted because they couldn t think of a plan to since the doctors, teachers and other educated people, as well as monks, the rich, and anyone perceived to be in opposition were tortured and killed. With that being said, we had a long 14 hour flight ahead of us, but the sky was blue and we were all filled up with excitement as to what would come next. I had never been in the Caribbean before and I did not know what to except. As we sat impatiently waiting to board our plane, I started writing my diary for the trip. Because we were going to be away for a good month or even more, I had to write a diary of my experiences and what I learned so that I could turn it in when I got back to school. As I began writing, I started to brainstorm of what I thought it was going to be like being in a very different culture with people you had never seen before. II.BASIC CONCEPTS II.A NEURON The human brain is a collection of concerning 10 billion interconnected neurons. Every single neuron is a cell that uses biochemical replies to accord, procedure and send information. It is an electrically excitable cell that procedures and transmits data across mechanical and chemical signals. These signals amid neurons transpire via synapses, enumerated connections alongside supplementary cells. Neurons can link to every single supplementary to form neural networks. A neuron s dendritic tree is related to a thousand bordering neurons. As one of those neuron fires, an affirmative or negative price is consented by one of the dendrites. II.B NEURAL NETWORK Neural network is a computer arrangement of biological neurons, composed of nonlinear computational agents working in parallel. A neuron s dendritic tree is related to a thousand bordering neurons. As one of those neurons fire, an affirmative or negative price is consented by one of the dendrites. The strengths of all the consented prices are added jointly across the procedures of spatial and temporal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Amish Rejection Throughout my life I have gone through more destitution than numerous people expect a teenager to go through. I have gained confidence and an independent spirit from the hardships I have experienced. The rejection I have experienced from my family is the obstacle bearing the greatest impact on my life. After my family left the Amish, we faced rejection and were shunned by the rest of the family. To this day, sixteen years later, this shunning is still occurring. I have not met or even seen most of my extended family as a result of this punishment. While this hardship has caused much suffering, it has also brought out strengths in myself I did not know I had. One of these strengths is the sense of independence I have gained. Being content with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Persian Empire Chapter Summaries The Achaemenid Persian Empire (559 330 B.C.) As we are introduced to the Great Persian Empire, we find that Amy Chua s thesis talks about how tolerance was critical in allowing the Persians to not only establish and prosper their world dominant empire, but to maintain it for over two centuries. The thesis of the book, Day of Empire by Amy Chua, is about the study of colossal power and the conditions needed to maintain it . Not only this, but it discusses the contest between ethnic purity and ethnic pluralism . Amy Chua argues that The Achaemenid Persian Empire was one of the first hyper powers in world history, governing a territory larger than all the ancient empires, including even Rome s. (Day of Empire pg. 4) Along with this, she argues that the Persian Empire was one of the most culturally diverse and religiously open empires in history. (Day of Empire pg. 4) Therefore, the author argues that The Persian Empire is relevant when discussing large powerful world authorities with a large size, long period of ruling, and ethnic tolerance it ... Although we do not have the exact facts from this late time period, historians have studied Greek depictions of increasing brutality and repression of the later Achaemenid kings, provoking violent uprisings among the subject people. (Day of Empire pg. 21) The pivotal point of failure occurred when Darius III took the power of the Empire. During this time, growing intolerance, unrest, and violence (Day of Empire pg. 21) was happening amongst the subject peoples. As more and more people were conquered, the Persian Empire had so many diverse people that there was no unity amongst the Persian Empire. Soon, the whole empire came to a fall when Alexander of Macedon began to conquer cities and replace the Persian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Randall Jarrell Poem In his poems, Randall Jarrell creates feeling verging on sentimentality. The use of children as characters or a child s point of view creates nostalgia every person can identify with. Childlike themes like fairy tales or the use of dream work add to the nostalgia and sentiment. The personae of the poems make them more dramatic, and distance Jarrell from the story of the poem, to add the emotional effect that wouldn t be there if it were his own point of view. His main choices of characters almost routinely being children, soldiers, invalids, or prisoners, all of whom are people who suffer easily. The use of a suffering personae allows Jarrel to convey sympathy and indignation for his character, his attitude toward those cornered beings who inhabit his poems is invariably sympathetic; he never mocks them; he is never impatient ( Humphrey 124). It shows the softer side to the stories, while they are conveyed by the broken and suffering, they are not chastised or disrespected. His repetitive use of ... He tells stories of loneliness, the world s failure to keep us, and failure to keep each other. (Williamson)All of his poems could have childhood based meanings, rooting to woes of separation he experienced himself. The child characters he uses are obvious objectifications of the fears and hostilities that marred Jarrell s childhood as well as our own (Beck 177). He so accurately conveys the emotions because he, like many others, personally experienced them. The themes of sentimentality carried into his own life, which create the relatable emotions that are universally felt. His work is a story that resonates with the earliest, most forgotten experiences of life (Williamson 204). • 44. Islamic Teachings And Principles Of Isis Humom Asamarai Eng 1021.32 Final Draft 3 Poindexter Inevitable Blowback Many claim that ISIS has been created as a result of Islamic teachings and principles. This is false. Islam has existed for over 1,400 years. If the above claim had an ounce of truth to it, ISIS would have emerged long ago. Constant instability in the Middle East and the struggle for political power in the region are some, but not all of the reasons for ISIS existence. State sponsored Islamophobia and fear mongering of Muslims in America are largely contributing causes to the creation of barbaric groups such as ISIS. As a result of the tragic events that took place on 9/11, Islamophobia was born. It has been over a decade and Islamophobia is not only still existent, but it s unfortunately growing in the heart of the average American more and more each day. For this we can thank our lovely media. Muslims are being targeted at every corner. In this country, you are taught by society to fear Islam. You are led to think that it is a violent cult that preaches hate and teaches violence. The sad part is, whether Islam does any of this is still a question that is being debated. Only just recently, CNN attacked Reza Aslan during a live interview for not condemning the religion of Islam and its teachings. When he replied and defended Islam with supporting facts, they attacked him for being hostile. In this country, you are taught that Muslims hate your great American freedom, even though Muslim and American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Financial Statements Are Tied Together 1. Walk me through how major financial statements are tied together. The income statement shows the net income, which adds to retained earnings on the balance sheet. The Cash flow statement describes the changes in cash in the balance sheet from one year to the next. 2. What is the impact of different depreciation methods on the bottom line? More depreciation now, means more recorded expenses, which means a lower net income and a lower tax payment. 3. Depreciation is a non cash expense. How come depreciation changes have cash consequences? Depreciation affects net income which effects the tax expense, this tax expense is paid with cash, so there are cash consequences to the amount and method of depreciation. 4. What does it mean to ... Value investors use a variety of analytical techniques in order to estimate the intrinsic value of securities in hopes of finding investments where the true value of the investment exceeds its current market value. 8. Walk me through how DCF model works. The DCF model attempts to find the intrinsic value of the firm based on all the estimated future cash flows. Then those cash flows are discounted to a present value, and the sum of those discounted cash flows is the estimated intrinsic value of the firm. 9. Describe the process of computing free cash flows. EBIT(1 Tax Rate) + [Depreciation Amortization] [Change in Net Working Capital] [Capital Expenditure] 10. What is the discount rate used in DCF Modeling? Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) 11. The biggest weakness of the DCF model is ____? The assumptions, relies on making many assumptions about the future of the market that can vary drastically from analyst to analyst. 12. The main drivers of the DCF Model are: Growth rate, discount rate, free cash flows. 13. What is the present value of a set of positive cash flows that are growing at 15% and the relative discount rate is 12% This perpetuity would have a hypothetically infinite value because growth rate exceeds discount rate. 14. What is WACC? WACC is the weighted average cost of capital, it estimates the firms ability to raise new funds by either selling debt or equity. Using financial weights, the WACC balances these two different methods of

An Analysis Of Madeleine L Engle s A Wrinkle In Time In the given passage from A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L Engle the main character, Meg, gives a tone of misery as she discusses the story of her father s disappearance with Calvin. Meg first shows this tone when the passage says, Nothing happened, Meg said. That s the trouble. Well, what about your father s letters? They just stopped coming. You haven t heard anything at all? No, Meg said. Nothing. Her voice was heavy with misery. In the last sentence it says that Meg s voice is heavy with misery, therefore, showing that she has been miserable since her father left, this also sets a tone of misery for the reader. • 49. Perfume Character Analysis Patrick Süskind s seminal 1985 novel, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, achieves that rare feat of creating a main character that portrays a protagonist that lacks conventional heroic qualities or in other literature term, an anti hero. The novel discusses the main character Grenouille, who became an infamous criminal who lived in the unhygienic and uprising rebellion in Paris, France, 18th century. He had experienced life chiefly through his highly developed sense of smell. Süskind s did a marvelous job in portraying personality traits that can be attributed and recognized to an actual serial killer. Moreover, he has been more in depth within Grenouille s personality by adding common mental disabilities and psychological abuse that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This led him the absence of someone to guide him and comprehending the difference between what is considered morally right or wrong. On a contrary, unlike Grenouille, Ed Gein isolation was due to the fault of parental guidance.
