Freud creates the idea that all people are made up three main characteristics. The fist characteristic is

Edith Cavell was born in 1865 at Swardeston in Norfolk. Her father, Frederick Cavell, was a Church
of England vicar there. Even though her family was quite poor, Edith had a good childhood memory
playing with her father, brothers and sisters. At her young age, she was taught to share what she had
with others. The family Sunday lunch was always divided in half to give for the poor villagers. Edith
and her mother also liked to visit the poor and she became a Sunday School teacher and Godmother to
some of the poorer children in her hometown.

The cost of alcohol and substance abuse in the United States reaches heights of four hundred eighty
four billion dollars per year ( Magnitude ). That s about seven hundred eighty times the amount it cost
to diagnose and treat sexually transmitted diseases in the year 2000 (Chesson). The sole purpose of
this is not to persuade you one way or the other on this topic. Nor is the purpose to apologize for this
social issue. The purpose of this writing is to employ data showing the societal effects parental
addictions have on children, to show how this data has remained relevant in society, and to show how
it is affecting our future members of society.
In this paper, I look at forms of substance abuse and the effects on children. I will be using the
following headings to break down the different issues associated with this social problem: social
causes, phenomenon, and consequences. I hope to educate those that may be ignorant to the situation,
and help to spark a flame that can be used to not be a bystander, but a solution to the problem at hand.
Social Causes
An estimated twenty five percent of youth under eighteen are exposed to familial alcohol abuse
(Bellum). The Illinois Department of Human Services says that nearly six hundred seventy five
thousand children per year suffer serious abuse or neglect as a direct result of substance abuse (

Drawing on examples from chapters 3, 4 and 8 of Investigating Psychology, examine and assess the
extent to which psychological research is of value to society. Psychological research describes
investigations psychologists undertake in order to review and analyse a specific hypothesis, (a theory
about the relationship between defined variables). Research allows theories to be confirmed, amended
or rejected and often leads to further research as requirements evolve. Psychological research can take
many forms, from laboratory based experiments to non invasive viewing of subjects in their own

conventional pesticides food. It turned out that they had different insecticides, fungicides, and plant
growth regulators inside their bodies. The experiment began and everything in the kitchen was

I was raised by two very straight to the point parents who almost wholeheartedly exclude any detail

The environment has a major influence in the personal health of a child and many of them are not
aware of how it affects them drastically. Various health conditions are either caused or aggravated by
environmental factors. One of the major health causing hazards is air pollution which can results in

about how to protect themselves from these diseases. Students from the grades four through sixth need
