It also demonstrated a healthcare readmissions use case and encouraged collaboration to influence IBM's direction. The presentation argued that cloud architectures are better suited for new applications leveraging big data and analytics.

Lessons We’re Learning
Shared nothing, stateless scale out cloud fabrics is not a suggestion of behavior,
it’s enforced
Economic equation flips from platform-centric integration being the most valuable
asset to application-centric
•Unbundling: When an app is deployed, the correct version of the runtime, frameworks, etc
are deployed
•Ability to dynamically retrieve the “right” versions of assets from code repositories a critical
factor
Cloud-based economics are drastically better for this emerging class of
applications
Small teams leveraging born on the cloud architectures delivers
Mixing fabric-based services & external services will introduce additional
considerations & complexity – work in progress understanding
Loosely coupled architectures work from teamwork perspective – few
coordination/status meetings, etc..
