Evolution Of New Load Balancing Model For Cloud Computing
Evolution of new Load Balancing model for Cloud Computing Abstract Cloud computing is a vital
part of this new era IT world or we can say that it is a technology of new age which are used to
connect data and application from anywhere around the planet through the internet. Anything and
everything from servers to mobile phones can be connected to the cloud. It has also yielded up some
new companies which are providing consumer a large range of services. Due to this the upcoming
companies can now better concentrate on its major purpose and not have to worry about installing
their own servers and about its maintenance. They can be very easily outsourcing it to these cloud
suppliers saving a lot of capital and energy investment by them. Now, ... Show more content on

Dynamic schemes are more complex and use system information whereas static schemes are bit
simpler and system informations are not used here. Dynamic schemes get changed whenever the status
of the system gets changed. In our paper we have used dynamic schemes for flexibility. In our model
there is a main controller and balancer which gather and analyze each and every information. We
aimed at the public cloud in this load balancing model because public cloud has enormous nodes with
distributed computing resources present in many different locations. In this model public cloud is
being divided into several cloud partitions and when the load and environment is very large and
complex, these partitions simplify the load balancing. Due to its main controller the cloud can choose
suitable partition for the jobs which are arriving whereas the balancer for each cloud partition chooses
the best load balancing strategy Fig: Everything on the Cloud [16] Related works: There have been
many studies of load balancing for the cloud environment. Load balancing in cloud computing was
discussed in a white paper by Adler [3] who introduced the tools techniques commonly used for load
balancing in cloud. However load balancing is still a new problem in cloud computing that

The table below breaks down the economic value in use of the CMI pads according to both the
Colerick and Fazio tests. I used the data from each case to derive the number of hours of driving
required to complete the job with both the asbestos and CMI pads. The difference in time to complete
the job multiplied by the cost per real hours was one part of the economic value in use. The other
portion was the cost of the asbestos pads for each project.

Feet driven 15000 Hours Cost per real hr($238) x total hrs
Asbestos 100 $23,800
CMI 75 $17,850

The players in this segment are likely to be the larger international construction contractors like
Conmaco and Raymond International, as well as larger independent pile driving firms. The market can
be segmented by benefit because there are those consumers or purchase influencers who look at the
impact the pads can have from an engineering standpoint. Because CMI pads transfer the energy from
the pile more efficiently they were less likely to result in damage to the pile that may affect the
integrity of the foundation. The players that would be in this segment would be the architectural and
consulting groups, as well as the more sophisticated of the larger engineering/construction contractors.
There is a second benefit segment that you can identify as well. This group would be defined by there
need or want for a safer work environment. The use of asbestos pads would be undesirable to this
segment, and would be more likely to choose the CMI pads. This segment would be harder to identify
because they would be spread out amongst the different size firms. It is likely that at the time of the
case larger firms were not yet concerned about the major litigation issues surrounding the use of
asbestos. Since it is most likely site workers that would be identified in this segment it is likely that
smaller firms were the principle is on site at the projects would be the major part of the

Consequences And Symbolism In John Updike s A P
In A P , the author John Updike utilizes symbolism, point of view, setting, and imagery to convey the
message of choices and consequences in Sammy s life. The protagonist, Sammy, makes immature
decisions that he believes that s what adults do. But what he thinks is an act of courage and chivalry
doesn t catch Queenie and her friends attention, but he still facing the consequences of his child like
behavior. Throughout the story the author John Updike depicts Sammy s character as someone
judgmental towards other people. Such as his co workers, customers and even family. He s constantly
judging others, whether it be their looks or their way of being; She s one of those cash register
watchers, a witch about fifty with rouge on her cheekbones and no eyebrows... . Implying that this
woman has nothing better to do with her daily life than to be there to bother him. In addition, Sammy
also refers to one of his coworker s attitude towards the girls. Sammy seems to be criticizing them;
forgetting that he himself has been doing the same thing to the girls since they walked in the store. All
that was left for us to see was old McMahon patting his mouth and looking after them sizing up their
joints. He later goes on and says he s starting to feel sorry for the girls. Not realizing he was making
the same mistake as his coworker. Finally, Sammy is also very quick to judge the main girl Queenie to
be of a higher social class just based on how she speaks. Her voice kind of startled me,

Blood Transfusion
Blood transfusion is the process of transferring blood from one person, which is the donor, to another
person, which is the recipient. The earliest research of blood transfusion started in the 17th century, a
British physician named William Harvey discovered the circulation and properties of blood, which
then inspired others to operate blood transfusions. This led to the first successful blood transfusion in
1665, which was performed by Richard Lower in England. He managed to save a severely injured dog
by transfusing blood from another dog through a tied artery. The introduction of blood transfusion
made a huge impact on humans, because it plays an important role in saving millions of lives each
year. Blood transfusion is performed when a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay About Halloween
One of the most vibrant and thrilling times to visit Caliente Resort Spa is the last week of October
each year for the spectacle that s known as Halloween Week! Halloween is one of the most popular
holiday s here at Caliente Resort because rivals anything you could possibly ever encounter at Fantasy
Fest in Key West. One reason is because contrary to rumors showing too many of your bits or going
full monty could attract some unwanted police attention at Fantasy Fest. But, not here at Caliente
since it s private property, 21 older and clothing optional you can get as bare as you dare with your
costume! Another reason this time of year is so popular at the resort is because of the amazing
entertainment that is set up for the week of Halloween.

The Atlantic And The Indian Oceans
Moreover, this peninsula gave Russia access to the Mediterranean Sea and from there to both the
Atlantic and the Indian Oceans. In order to get this strategic objective, Russia conducted a very
complex operation that shook the whole world and changed the way the international security is
viewed. However, it was not only the capabilities of the Russian Army planners and troops that made
the operation a success. Multiple factors played a crucial role and ultimately facilitated the seizure of
the Crimean Peninsula. Understanding these factors is very important, especially for countries that
Russia considers as being within its interest zone, like Georgia, Moldova, etc. The following
paragraphs explain the factors and how they facilitated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among these tribes were Mongols and the Byzantines. Golden Horde, the Tatars, settled in Crimea in
the 15th century. The Tatars are considered Crimean natives. Although they later became Turkish
vassals, they remained very powerful and culture oriented. (Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia 2013,
12). Until the Stalin era, the peninsula had been invaded by other countries, like Russia and Germany
(in World War 1). However, it became part of the USSR in 1921. Same as the other Soviet Republics,
the native population was sent to other parts of the USSR, while native Russians were brought to the
peninsula. The purpose was obvious Russification (a form of cultural assimilation of a nation, making
them pro Russian) of the occupied or annexed territory (Ahsan 2015, 27). While in the Soviet Union,
Crimea became part of the Russian Republic in 1945. Later, it was transferred to Ukraine in 1954 and
remained part of it after the collapse of the Soviet Union. All these historical facts are important
because they show how much different all the countries that conquer, colonized or annexed the
peninsula were. Furthermore, all these countries, especially USSR, were trying to influence and even
displace the population. By the end of WWII, only 25% of the local population were Tatars and in
2001 even worse only 12% of the total population were Tatars. Meanwhile, the percentage of Russians
increased to 59% (Piticar 2014, 439). According to the above demographics, in

many years entertaining others and making people laugh, but his own life never seemed quite as
enjoyable. Robin was never a normal kid; he was always moving and getting picked on for what he

out on his own, after moving all over the country, Robin expected a normal life and he soon learned
that he was like no other and that nobody had a talent as exceptional as his.

Fiber Optics
Fiber optics is a cable that is quickly replacing out dated copper wires. Fiber optics is based on a
concept known as total internal reflection. It can transmit video, sound, or data in either analog or
digital form . Compared to copper wires it can transmit thousands of times more data (slide 2) . Some
of its general uses are telecommunications, computing, and medicine. br br The very first fiber was
made in 1870 by the British physicist John Tyndal. In this experiment that he showed to the Royal
Society he placed a powerful waterproof lamp inside a tank of water, which had closed pipes coming
out the sides. When he opened up the pipes so water could flow, to the amazement of the crowd, the
light totally internally reflected inside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you want a short range network without monstrous bandwidth needs, you can save money and get
the multimode. On the other hand, if you want a large network with a large bandwidth, you will need
to fork out the money for the singlemode. br br Fiber optic cable is constructed with an industry
standard with respect to that the cladding on all cable, whether single or multimode, must be 125 mm.
(slide 8) This is done so the same tools can be used for both types of cables. Fiber cables are also
bunched, much like their copper counterparts are. Individual cables are called simplex, double cables
are called duplex, and four cables wrapped together are quadplex. Wires with more than four cables
are also available. Some of the possible ones are groups of twelve, thirty six, and forty eight. br br
Another important aspect of fiber optics is attenuation, which is decrease in power from one point to
another. (Slide 9) Attenuation is measured in dB/km and a 3.0 dB/km loss corresponds to about a 50%
loss in 1 km. One of the major advantages of fiber over copper is lower attenuation. Copper wires
need repeaters about every three miles, but fiber can go without a repeater for sixty miles. br br There
are two types of attenuation: intrinsic and extrinsic. One of the two types of intrinsic attenuation is
scattering, which makes up about 96% of the intrinsic. This is caused by Rayleigh scattering in which
light rays collide with atoms in the cable and

Wars Of Religion
Religion can be an excuse for war however it is never the full reason, monarchs always have an
ulterior motive behind the backing of war. Religion is a belief that unites people while it separates
people, the belief that has cause countless wars and death all in its name. Well that is exactly what
happened in the sixteenth century of Europe, a conflict began over religious ideologies. Europe s Wars
of Religion was unlike most wars that claim to be based on religious reasons alone, the wars that
erupted around Europe were all civil wars within Christianity. The Age of Religious Wars, was a
period where everyone took what the Reformation could offer them and apply it to their own way of
life. Bits and pieces to form a new religious identity that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ideas that Luther gave to the populace, broke the society and people began to undermine
authority. A great example of that would be one of the first conflicts of the religious wars, the peasants
revolt. The ideologies were reaching the monarchs and they were converting to Protestantism for
personal gain, not for religious values. Supporting the movement, was perfect for them because they
finally have some control over the church officials. The king of Sweden was one of the first who
converted, he declared that the Lutheranism is the official religion of his country. This caused Charles
V the Holy Roman Emperor to give the converted Lutherans an ultimatum, return to the Catholic faith
or there will be dire consequences. This resulted in a military alliance called the Schmalkaldic League.
The Holy Roman emperor ended up defeating the league, Catholic France ended up coming to the
Lutherans rescue. Despite their difference in their religious views at the moment they have a common
enemy and that was enough. Charles gave into the pressure and realized that his empire is too vast for
him to rule alone. So he spilt his empire up and gave it to his brother Ferdinand and his son Philip II
and they came to the conclusion to divide the population. This had a catalytic event later when the

Analysis Of Frremont High By Jonathan Kozol
Most people assume that America has the best education in the world. In fact, my dad moved our
whole family here mainly for us (his children) to get a good education. However, what he and many
others are not aware of is the effects that economic inequality has on education. Jonathan Kozol s
Fremont High discusses how the lack of funding affects the quality of education that students are
receiving. Homeless on Campus by Eleanor J Bader brings light to the hardships of homeless college
students and the fact that school institutions aren t providing them any assistance. On the other hand,
Anu Partanen s Finland School Success explores how getting rid of economic inequality had greatly
benefited education in Finland.
Jonathan Kozol, who is an American writer, best known for his books on public education in the
United States wrote about the condition of which students at a public high school in Los Angeles were
going through. In his essay, Fremont High , Kozol informs us of how students success was being
affected because of the lack of well equipped classrooms, as well as necessary classes to help them
succeed in college. Kozol starts off with a vivid description of the classrooms he was visiting. He
describes the conditions of these classrooms by saying that nearly a third of all the classrooms in the
school, were located in portables...in converted storage closets windowless and nasty (713). This is
important because it gives the readers an opportunity to picture

The Formula And Percent Water Of Hydrated Magnesium Sulfate
Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to determine both the formula and percent water of hydrated
magnesium sulfate.
Background: According to George B. Kauffman of Britannica, a hydrate is any compound containing
water in the form of H2O molecules, usually, but not always, with a definite content of water by
weight. Within this, there are two aspects of the compound; the water of hydration and the anhydrous
salt. When a hydrate is heated, the water of hydration leaves the compound as vapor due to the
unsteady bonds between the water and salt molecules. The anhydrous salt ends up becoming the only
piece that is leftover. From the two, the percent water in a hydrate and the mass of the salt can be
determined from the loss of the water of hydration. As a result, the formula of the compound can be
found because the masses of the salt and the water can be used to determine the mole ratio, which are
both small, whole numbers.

Straight Commission Case Study
Straight Committee
Now, let s look at the pros and cons of working as a straight commission salesperson:
Benefit:
1. Opportunities higher overall. Straight commission opportunities almost always pay a higher
commission rate paid salary + commission from the same position. When I was faced with taking that
first, I was scared at first thought the decision not to have a stable wage income plummeted. However,
when I sit down with a calculator, I realized I could not lose. The commission rate is so high, only the
sales will pay how much I pay each month to the hair, and that only one sale a month and not spend a
lot of specific work. Finally, I quadrupled my income just by switching the commission, although I did
not sell more than I received.

Weathering the Storm On the morning of Monday, August 29, 2005, in southeast Louisiana, hurricane
Katrina made its second landfall. It began as a category one hurricane in the Bahamas and crossed the
southern tip of Florida into the Gulf of Mexico, where is mixed with the warm waters and grew into a
category five hurricane. After making landfall the second time, it weakened to a category three
hurricane but still caused catastrophic damage to everything in its path. Hurricane Katrina resulted in
at least 1833 deaths from both the storm and subsequent floods, making it the deadliest U.S. hurricane

The children in the family can t seem to bother with the possibility of the hurricane being anything but

for the general public, however it still does not clearly convey the amount of damage that can be
sustained from a category one hurricane as opposed to a category five hurricane. A category one
hurricane is classified as having winds between seventy four and ninety five mile per hour sustained
winds with a damage rating being described as having very dangerous winds will produce some
damage. Category two has winds between ninety six and one hundred and ten miles per hour, category
three has winds between one

me by one of the initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way (Carmen Hernandez). Hernandez had a deep
love of for the Jewish Liturgies especially the feast of Yom Kippur. Every single year the
Neocatechumenal Way in different countries has a retreat and in the retreat there is a special day
reserved for conversion(confession). On this day of conversion all the members of the
Neocatechumenal communities have to fast the whole day and feed themselves only with the word of
God(Bible reading) and at the end of the day they confess all their sins in a penitential celebration.
Hernandez always explained the relationship between Yom Kippur and the confession(penitential
celebration) for us Catholic, that is why I have a special love for this feast because I heard of it every
single year in the annual Neocatechumenal Way retreat. Another fact that pushed me to write about
Yom Kippur is that we are in the year of mercy. So my paper will be based on the history of the Feast
of Yom Kippur and Its origins and how it was prepared and celebrated among the Jewish. I will
describe how the feast is celebrated and I will show its values in the Jewish faith. I will show as well
how Jesus Christ celebrated the feast of Yom Kippur. Finally I will illustrated how Jesus fulfilled the
feast of Yom

Gun Control Persuasive Speech
I, a Boy Scout, am currently working on my Citizenship in the Nation merit badge, and I am writing to
you as part of one of my requirements for the merit badge. I am writing to you regarding your stance
on the issue of gun control in light of the recent Parkland shooting. As a high school student and
constituent, I would like to thank you for your support on recent bills to protect students security and
safety by increasing the age of purchase of semiautomatic rifles and authorizing measures to increase
safety programs, specifically H.R. 5909 and H.R. 4909.
As a student through a number of major school shootings across the nation, including Sandy Hook in
2012 and now the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, it is worrisome that
measures to prevent these acts of violence have not been effective. We must also remember the
numerous smaller shootings at schools and the unsafe environment that these shootings bring to
schools. In this advanced age that we live in today, it is difficult to understand why school shootings
are still happening. This sentiment is not new: after each shooting, we see the tragedy on mass media,
and we join up and protest for stricter gun legislation, for stronger programs to aid students with
mental illnesses. But each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

English Piracy Definition
Very few people today, perhaps those who have stared death in the face, can possibly comprehend
what it would have been like to stand on the gallows at high tide as the executioner fashioned a noose
around the pirate s neck; the last significant act before his final voyage, a short drop and a quick stop.
The English political and legal processes that delivered this defiant captain and hundreds of others
condemned for piracy to their final destination is the focus of this study.
Their contemporaries described them as Robbers, Opposers, and Violators of all Laws, Humane and
Divine. Many viewed themselves as a more selfish reincarnation of Robin Hood, stealing from
wealthy merchants, foreign traders, and abusive captains, and in doing so, threatening ... Show more

After nearly two decades of anti pirate policies in the colonies, colonial officials no longer deemed it
necessary to aggressively convict anyone suspected of piracy out of fear of losing their charter, as they
had prior to 1705. Furthermore, the defining legal question leading to extreme ambiguity in the
prosecution of pirates during the seventeenth century was at what point did acting outside of one s
commission constitute an act of piracy? The conclusion of Great Britain s hostilities with France and
Spain in 1713 rendered this question irrelevant as the new wave of pirates targeted primarily British,
not neutral or allied ships, clearly defining their aggression as piracy. The change in targets also
reduced the prosecution s need to rely on accomplice testimony, a source of controversy in civil law
proceedings, since attacks occurring off nearby shores provided easier access to victim testimony.
Finally, the increase in colonial newspapers and the dissemination of their publication of piracy trials
reports did assist in reducing procedural inconsistencies, but not in the way previously suggested.
Instead, it was the increased familiarity with civil law and piracy trial procedures within the reports,

Non cooperative, Semi cooperative, and Cooperative Games based Grid Resource Allocation
Straightforward access to large scale distributed computational assets is provided by computational
Grids. With the help of their size and geographic dissemination they help to create large computing
centers. Several simulation studies are performed for evaluating the mechanisms to allocate resources
in a Grid. There are three mechanisms to allocate resources in a Grid. The first method is the non
cooperative sealed bid method where the tasks are auctioned off to the highest bidder. Second, the
semi cooperative n round bid method in which each site delegates the task its work to others if it
cannot perform the work itself. Last, the cooperative method in which all the sites cooperatively
perform all the tasks as efficiently as possible. The simulation model has various leveled Grid
structure in which machines are built around larger computing centers called federations [1].
In a computational framework, a large computational task is divided up among individual machines,
which run calculations in parallel and then

The lecturer made the case that by reading and studying the interpretations of experienced interpreters,

Stereotypes In M. Butterfly, By David Henry Hwang
M. Butterfly is an award winning play written by David Henry Hwang in 1988. In this play, a young
French diplomat by the name of Rene Gallimard, falls in love with a man whom he believed to be a
woman, by the name of Song Liling. This play is based off of a real couple who s real names are
Bernard Boursicot and Shi Peipu. Rene Gallimard sees Song Liling, for the first time at an opera
show. After they begin seeing each other, he gives her the nickname of his butterfly . From there, their
love grows into a twenty year relationship, until Rene Gallimard discovers that his butterfly is truly a
man as well as a spy for the Chinese government. Overall, the play conveys themes of racial, sexual,
and gender related stereotypes, as well as deceit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most obvious racial stereotypes, is the stereotype of oriental women from a western point
of view, which is what Gallimard believes to be true. According to Google, Orientalism is defined as
the representation of Asia, especially the Middle East, in a stereotyped way that is regarded as
embodying a colonialist attitude . In other words, it s the view of Asia from outside countries, that are
usually stereotypical. From a western point of view, oriental women are viewed as innocent, delicate,
sexual, doll like beings. Song is aware of the stereotypes, and performs the role of an oriental woman,
which allows Gallimard to be fooled for over 20 years. The western s stereotypical racial view of
oriental women wasn t the only one in play... along with it was the stereotypical racial view ofmen. In
line with the theory of Orientalism, both of these stereotypes are derived not from real evidence or
observation, but from an Othering of the East as the opposite of the rational, masculine, and powerful

Diego Velázquez s Las Meninas
Las Meninas by Diego Velázquez is depicted as a group portrait of Spanish King Philip IV (8 April
1605 17 September 1665) at the Habsburg court. The painting well demonstrates Velázquez s painting
techniques that can be recognized by dramatic mood, rich color and extreme contrast between light
and dark. It is absolutely extraordinary and implies influences Velázquez has had, especially Flemish
Baroque realism. Velázquez had a deeper ambition in his mind when creating this masterpiece. He
wanted to earn the title that can ensure him a high position in society. So, Velázquez had this desire for
an aristocratic title better than any other single court positions he could get.

Steroid Use Of Sports On Sports
Joe Butts Mrs. Gallos English 3H 2 May 2016 Steroid use in Sports Steroid use in sports has became a
large factor of impact in the sports world today. Everyone has their own opinion on it. They either
enjoy watching athletes be ridiculously good at their sport, and they find it entertaining, or they like to
see athletes play by the rules. Steroid use is a big part of most sports, mostly baseball. Most records
held by the greatest of baseball players used steroids. Steroid usage has many negative effects. Even a
few that can be life threatening. Some people think that making it legal in sports will make more
people want to watch and more money will come to the sport. There are many different opinions for
this substance, and not all of them are agreeable either. Taking drugs to get an advantage in a sport has
increased in teens through the years. This is very dangerous for those teens who take them because the
effects that follow, especially when someone takes them at such a young age. White and blue collar
workers, females and, most alarmingly, adolescents take steroids all linked by the desire to hopefully
look, perform and feel better, regardless of the dangers (Walder) . Steroid use in women has also
increased. It causes women to have deeper voices and lose breast development. The only reason
someone would think of a woman taking steroids, other than sports, would be if they lifted a lot of
weights as a bodybuilder. Men and young adolescent boys who take steroids

Energy Drinks Market
Energy Drinks Red Bull
What are energy drinks? Cola and coffee drinks have long been promoted and known as energy drinks
meant to give you a little pick me up, mostly in the form of caffeine and sugar. Jolt Cola in the 80s
was one of the early entries in the energy drink market, with double the caffeine of normal colas, it
was marketed towards teens and college students as a way to get an energy edge and keep you awake
and energized. Their slogan, in fact, was twice the caffeine . Jolt has in fact recently been reincarnated
given the success of other energy drinks. What are the most popular energy drinks? Red Bull, created

smaller cans, which is part of their image.
While the UK is certainly not the only market in Europe where energy and sports drinks are big

Bars and clubs remain important outlets for energy drinks across Europe Many people will try an
energy drink brand for the first time in a bar, with or without alcohol there is a growing trend towards
everyday consumption as a source of energy.
This in itself throws up other challenges not least how the brands, and the stores that sell them,
distinguish themselves from each other. This has led to a range of new products, which differentiate
themselves from Red Bull through packaging, or colour, or taste, or through what they contain, said
Hall. Consumers are increasingly knowledgeable, and they understand more and more about the
ingredients in these drinks, so if the science is good, it can be a real selling point.
Sports drinks are perhaps a case in point. They are generally linked with energy drinks, and indeed
have a number of similarities in terms of functionality and target audience. Yet they are generally
consumed in different situations they are unlikely to be consumed in a bar, for example and have
different effects on the body.

The mid August heat is blazing as crews break down the temporary stage from last night s concert.
The stage was set in what looks to be almost a half mile long and football field wide dry river bed. I
can see the appeal of placing a stage here with the Aventine and Palatine Hills on each side to
accommodate hundreds of thousands of spectators who would be able to see the stage. Once the stage
is broken down this prime real estate in the middle of Rome, Italy will serve as a large park, but it was
not always this way, the same reasons this park is used for concerts today is why the Circus Maximus
was constructed here in the Valley of Murcia, Rome. The Circus Maximus began with the Valley of
Murcia being used much as it is today. A small stream which ran off the Tiber river would dry enough
to race around the banks. The natural rise of the land on the sides of the valley allowed spectators to

were its biggest opposition requiring constant reconstruction. It is believed that the threat of fire
caused Emperor Trajan to rebuild the Circus in the newly discovered concrete, marble, stone, and only

design was an option of my choice, I had always wanted a rifle like this one. My rifle, in my opinion,

camouflage , synthetic stock. As you go up the gun, you arrive at the metal parts, and this matte finish
of black really matched the stock, which gave it my attention as I focused on it at first glance. The
barrel, at the peak of the gun adjacent to the opening system, was thick, so if I was to shoot multiple
times in a row the barrel wouldn t warp after constant heating through the violent explosion of the
cartridge as the bullets races through the end of the barrel. On the other hand, the bullet measurements
were just as important. At the time I was given the gun, I wasn t very old or strong. If I was too have

There are many benefits of doing this project. I will learn how to use the different woodwork tools and
machines used to make wooden things like a carcase table. I may also learn about marketing and how
similar things can be produced and sold. I will learn some good life skills and I will know how to
construct wooden object using the different woodwork machines and tools.
To complete the task I will design my carcase table according to the correct specifications and
measurements. Once I have designed my carcase table I will create it in the workshop by first cutting
it out and gluing the appropriate pieces together. Once it is constructed I will sand it and put a finish
on it.

Description: A very modern Carcase table. It is very square and has curved legs. It would suit someone
with a modern life style.
Positives: It is very eye catching, and appeals to the target audience. It enhances the décor and would
look great in a modern home. The rectangular top of this carcase table would be quite easy to make.
Negatives: The legs are curved and would be quite hard to make. The legs would all have to be the
exact same in size and volume which would be extremely hard to do. The knob used to pull the draw
in and out is metal, which is not aloud.

were disproved as tricks of the eye. Spacecraft in the 1960 s and 1970 s reported that Mars was very

THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE To best understand the thematic preoccupation of this work, the
concept of critical mass theory as it applies to the adoption of a new communication technology is
desirable and would be used. The term comes from physics, where critical mass refers to the minimum
amount of material needed to trigger and sustain a radioactive chain reaction. The term has been
loosely applied to communication and refers to the minimum number of people needed as adopters
before a new communication technology can have a permanent place in the society Kaye and Medoff,
2001. Williams, Strover and Grant (1994) corroborate
An interesting aspect of the critical mass perspective is that widespread use appears to have a
snowball effect. Once a perceived critical mass is using the technology, those without it are strongly
motivated to adopt it. The reasoning here is that despite the drawbacks, such as cost or difficulty in
using the technology, people (and institutions) are pressured to adopt the technology because failure to
do so may exclude them from existing communication networks. Markus (1987), while making a case
for the adoption of interactive communication technologies, suggested three propositions in the
adoption process as cited in Kaye and Medoff (2001). First, the adoption and use of technology is an

Mrs. Smith is a stay at home mom as they just had their first child 6 months ago.
The Smiths chose the home they purchased partly because of its close proximity to many things such
as: schools, doctors and a town that is not too far from them. The close proximity to everything
needed feels like a warm and inviting community setting; therefore, some people live in a community
because it is where they grew up. Others choose a community because it is where they found work,
such as the Smiths were able to accomplish (Jackson Sinclair, 2011).
The Smiths home location has enabled them to budget the 500 mile a month limitation for now. Urban
sprawl has enabled a multitude of families to venture further from big cities into home communities
that are less expensive; however, the distance required to most amenities can be vast. It is not unheard
of for some workers to commute greater than 50 miles per day. This would not be plausible if there
was a 500 mile limitation on driving a personal vehicle. A typical month of driving for the Smiths has

Different Kinds Of Polymers And Polymers
A polymer is a large molecule that is made from many small repeating chemicals called monomers. In
the Greek language, polymer literally means many parts. Polymers are being used more and more in
medical devices, such as drug delivery, screws, plates, fixation pins, suture anchors and many other
applications. Some of the most useful polymers for medical uses are poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and
poly(glycolic acid) (PGA). They are useful in medicine because of the fact that they can degrade
within the body to lesser components that will cause very minimal negative effects. Scientists have
found many different ways to control the degradation of these two polymers. Combining two or more
different kinds of monomers during polymer formation is called copolymerization. Changing the
amount of different kinds of monomers during copolymerization of either poly(lactic co glycolic)
(PLGA) or PLA can change degradation characteristics. [2] For example, combining lactic acid and
glycolic acid to make PLGA will degrade quicker. There are also stereo copolymers, such as L lactic
acid, and D lactic acid which are the same chemical, but are mirror images of each other (figure 1).
These can be combined to also lower the degradation times of PLA or PGLA. Figure 1. Difference

to me. This jacket is worthless to anyone else, but to me it is priceless. When my age teacher, Mrs.

John Peter Brief Biography
John Peter (1900 1950) began his career in the early 1920 s, after a musical childhood and several
years of study in US. By the time his first opera, The Protagonist (Peter Georg), was performed in
April 1926, he was an established young German composer. But he had already decided to devote
himself to the musical theater, and his works with Bertolt Brecht soon made him famous all over
Europe. He fled the new Nazi leadership in March 1933 and continued his indefatigable efforts, first in
Paris (1933 35), then in the U.S. until his death. Certain common threads tie together his career: a
concern for social justice, an aggressive pursuit of highly regarded playwrights and lyricists as
collaborators, and the ability to adapt to audience tastes no matter where he found himself. His most
important works: the Violin Concerto (1925), The Threepenny Opera (Bertolt Brecht, 1928), Rise and
Fall of the City of Mahagonny (Brecht, 1930), The Pledge (Caspar Neher, 1932), The Seven Deadly
Sins (Brecht, 1933), Lady in the Dark (Moss Hart and Ira Gershwin, 1941), Street Scene (Elmer Rice
and Langston Hughes, 1947), Lost in the Stars (Maxwell Anderson, 1949). He died of heart failure in
1950, shortly after he and Anderson began work on a musical adaptation of Huckleberry Finn, leaving
behind a large catalogue of works and a reputation that continues to grow as more of his music is
performed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Recess had just ended when my stomach began to hurt. Soon, the pain was unbearable, and my
teachers had to drag me into the atrium so my screams would not disrupt the other students. But I
insisted to my teachers that my teeth hurt. Even at three and a half years old, I had been admitted to
the hospital several times. I did everything in my power to avoid returning there. Of course, my
teachers realized what was going on and called my parents. My medical problems have not gone
away, but I have realized that as much as I hate living with pain, I don t know if I can live without
medicine. Each time I visit the hospital, I become more interested in procedures, research, and ...

But only .00052% of babies born in the Western world have a type 1 choledochal cyst. These babies
suffer from pancreatitis and chronic abdominal pain, and undergo countless procedures, tests, and
surgeries. But nobody hears about patients like this because of what in the medical world is called
failure to thrive. These patients spend so much time in hospitals that they become disconnected from
life outside the hospital, quit activities because of pain, and fall behind in schoolwork. Many become
addicted to pain medications. The fact that I am able to thrive at school is in itself rare. But that I still
have a drive to make a difference in the world is unheard of. I do not fail to thrive, I thrive in spite of
my anatomical failures. My medical experiences give me a unique perspective that will increase the

Multiple Suicide
This write up follows after the news of multiple suicide that shook the democratic republic of Nepal
this week; one case of a general public who committed suicide after allegation of pirating a block
buster Nepali movie Chakka Panja , and another; the curious case of Anil Adhikari who was famously
known world wide with his rapper alias Yama Buddha
This should be my 15th attempt at erasing/re writing the intro of this write up. Suicide has been such
an ostracized topic that one does not speak until it hits the news. I found it very hard to even think
about how I was going to present my thoughts on it. Until, I feel like I speak to you directly, Yama
Budhha, and hundreds of less known nevertheless equally important souls.
Hi,
My assumption is that there is internet on the other side and you guys can see my posts on Facebook.

How Did Cleopatra Changed History
EXTENSION HISTORY DRAFT
How and why has the depiction of Cleopatra changed over the course of history?
Cleopatra was the last pharaoh of Egypt. She is famous in Western culture because of her alleged
affairs with Julius Caesar and Marc Antony, these affairs are, which over the years have been
famously depicted as political decisions. Cleopatra was a strong, intelligent leader, and was very good
at gaining and keeping political power. She believed that women deserved power as much as men,
since she would not rule Egypt equally with her brother. Primary sources such as paintings and
sculptures have presented her as an extravagant and beautiful woman. In the 20th century Cleopatra s
story was preserved and further developed through film. Many ... Show more content on

Only selections of coins depict her and a few busts are believed to portray the Egyptian queen, but
these cannot be verified. However, almost everyone in the Western world could conjure a picture of
Cleopatra if asked to do so. But without question this image will be of an actress portraying the queen
on film. Cleopatra has been a central character in over fifteen major films and countless television
programmes. The first cinematic portrayal of Cleopatra was in the silent film of 1917 starring
seductive actress Theda Bara. At the time this film was made it was the most expensive film to be
made, this was due to the films opulent sets and costumes. However dues to some of the costumes the
Hay Movie Codes deemed the film risqué the film is partially lost as the last known prints were burnt
by a fire that happened at Fox Studios and Museum of Modern Art in New York. However a few
fragments of the film survived. This may have been the first cause of the dramatic pattern of change in
the perception of Cleopatra as a sexualised entity. Another portrayal of Cleopatra that has changed the
perception of Cleopatra is the 1945 film Caesar and Cleopatra directed by Gabriel Pascal. The film the
first colorized film of Cleopatra, unlike most other versions of Cleopatra, this version is a romantic
comedy that wasn t meant to be historically accurate in anyway. The 1963 version of Cleopatra is very
highly regarded and is the most

The Evolving Relationship Between The U.s. Government And...
Chaelee Dalton Burnett Honors World Religions November 7 2014 The Evolving Relationship
Between the U.S. Government and the Mormon Church In 1844, Joseph Smith, ecclesiastical leader of
the Latter day Saints and presidential candidate, was murdered by an angry mob. This mob was
fostered by the release of a newspaper questioning Smith s practices (including polygamy),
qualifications, and intentions for his potential presidency. More than 150 years later, Mitt Romney, a
member of the LDS Church, launched a presidential campaign and garnered forty two percent of the
popular vote. Although these two candidates share a faith, their political roles and views are
substantially different. This is representative of the significant changes in the relationship between the
Mormon church and the U.S. government. A homegrown religion originating in the late 1820s,
Mormonism arose as a rejection of the existing Christian sects and a return to what the Mormons
considered to be pure Christianity. Similarly, the members believed their desire for a new kind of
government stemmed from their disillusionment with what they believed was a corrupt government
and a desire for the reestablishment of true American values and the original intent of the founding
fathers. This sentiment is epitomized by Joseph Smith s presidential platform, which states No honest
man can doubt for a moment, the glory of American liberty is on the wane; and that calamity and
confusion will sooner or later destroy the

Thin, Light And Light
Thin. Light. Flexible.
So I assume many of you have heard of LED screens or panels, chances are you are probably reading
this on one of them. Or if you re one of those people who still use that stuff called paper then maybe
on that. Well whatever you are reading this on prepare to empty you re wallet s because this new
technology will surly brighten your day!
LED s or Light Emitting Diodes have been around since the 60 s and I think they are starting to
decline. The new technology slowly replacing LED s are OLED s or Organic Light Emitting Diodes.
Now these are special because they contain small quantities of organic material such as carbon. OLED
s feature many vase improvements over its older friend LED s, these include: flexibility, durability,
transparency and the list goes on! Although this all comes with an unfortunately large price tag.
While OLED s are a great technology nowadays they have not always been so advanced. The first
working OLED was created in 1987 by Ching W. Tang and Steven Van Slyke at Eastman Kodak.
Although this was the first technically working OLED, electroluminescence the principle OLED s use
was first reported in 1953 by A. Bernanose, M. Comte, and P. Vonaux, using a high voltage electrical
field. Electroluminescence is when a material emits light in response to the passage of an electric
current or to a strong electric field being applied through the substance (J. Chim p.50, 64.).
In the early days of production OLED s were very

  • 2. Evolution Of New Load Balancing Model For Cloud Computing Evolution of new Load Balancing model for Cloud Computing Abstract Cloud computing is a vital part of this new era IT world or we can say that it is a technology of new age which are used to connect data and application from anywhere around the planet through the internet. Anything and everything from servers to mobile phones can be connected to the cloud. It has also yielded up some new companies which are providing consumer a large range of services. Due to this the upcoming companies can now better concentrate on its major purpose and not have to worry about installing their own servers and about its maintenance. They can be very easily outsourcing it to these cloud suppliers saving a lot of capital and energy investment by them. Now, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dynamic schemes are more complex and use system information whereas static schemes are bit simpler and system informations are not used here. Dynamic schemes get changed whenever the status of the system gets changed. In our paper we have used dynamic schemes for flexibility. In our model there is a main controller and balancer which gather and analyze each and every information. We aimed at the public cloud in this load balancing model because public cloud has enormous nodes with distributed computing resources present in many different locations. In this model public cloud is being divided into several cloud partitions and when the load and environment is very large and complex, these partitions simplify the load balancing. Due to its main controller the cloud can choose suitable partition for the jobs which are arriving whereas the balancer for each cloud partition chooses the best load balancing strategy Fig: Everything on the Cloud [16] Related works: There have been many studies of load balancing for the cloud environment. Load balancing in cloud computing was discussed in a white paper by Adler [3] who introduced the tools techniques commonly used for load balancing in cloud. The players in this segment are likely to be the larger international construction contractors like Conmaco and Raymond International, as well as larger independent pile driving firms. The market can be segmented by benefit because there are those consumers or purchase influencers who look at the impact the pads can have from an engineering standpoint. Because CMI pads transfer the energy from the pile more efficiently they were less likely to result in damage to the pile that may affect the integrity of the foundation. The players that would be in this segment would be the architectural and consulting groups, as well as the more sophisticated of the larger engineering/construction contractors. There is a second benefit segment that you can identify as well. This group would be defined by there need or want for a safer work environment. The use of asbestos pads would be undesirable to this segment, and would be more likely to choose the CMI pads. This segment would be harder to identify because they would be spread out amongst the different size firms. It is likely that at the time of the case larger firms were not yet concerned about the major litigation issues surrounding the use of asbestos. Since it is most likely site workers that would be identified in this segment it is likely that smaller firms were the principle is on site at the projects would be the major part of the ... Consequences And Symbolism In John Updike s A P In A P , the author John Updike utilizes symbolism, point of view, setting, and imagery to convey the message of choices and consequences in Sammy s life. The protagonist, Sammy, makes immature decisions that he believes that s what adults do. But what he thinks is an act of courage and chivalry doesn t catch Queenie and her friends attention, but he still facing the consequences of his child like behavior. Throughout the story the author John Updike depicts Sammy s character as someone judgmental towards other people. Such as his co workers, customers and even family. Implying that this woman has nothing better to do with her daily life than to be there to bother him. In addition, Sammy also refers to one of his coworker s attitude towards the girls. Sammy seems to be criticizing them; forgetting that he himself has been doing the same thing to the girls since they walked in the store. All that was left for us to see was old McMahon patting his mouth and looking after them sizing up their joints. He later goes on and says he s starting to feel sorry for the girls. Not realizing he was making the same mistake as his coworker. Finally, Sammy is also very quick to judge the main girl Queenie to be of a higher social class just based on how she speaks. The earliest research of blood transfusion started in the 17th century, a British physician named William Harvey discovered the circulation and properties of blood, which then inspired others to operate blood transfusions. This led to the first successful blood transfusion in 1665, which was performed by Richard Lower in England. The Tatars are considered Crimean natives. Although they later became Turkish vassals, they remained very powerful and culture oriented. (Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia 2013, 12). Until the Stalin era, the peninsula had been invaded by other countries, like Russia and Germany (in World War 1). However, it became part of the USSR in 1921. Same as the other Soviet Republics, the native population was sent to other parts of the USSR, while native Russians were brought to the peninsula. The purpose was obvious Russification (a form of cultural assimilation of a nation, making them pro Russian) of the occupied or annexed territory (Ahsan 2015, 27). While in the Soviet Union, Crimea became part of the Russian Republic in 1945. Later, it was transferred to Ukraine in 1954 and remained part of it after the collapse of the Soviet Union. All these historical facts are important because they show how much different all the countries that conquer, colonized or annexed the peninsula were. Furthermore, all these countries, especially USSR, were trying to influence and even displace the population. By the end of WWII, only 25% of the local population were Tatars and in 2001 even worse only 12% of the total population were Tatars. If you want a short range network without monstrous bandwidth needs, you can save money and get the multimode. On the other hand, if you want a large network with a large bandwidth, you will need to fork out the money for the singlemode. br br Fiber optic cable is constructed with an industry standard with respect to that the cladding on all cable, whether single or multimode, must be 125 mm. (slide 8) This is done so the same tools can be used for both types of cables. Fiber cables are also bunched, much like their copper counterparts are. Individual cables are called simplex, double cables are called duplex, and four cables wrapped together are quadplex. Wires with more than four cables are also available. Some of the possible ones are groups of twelve, thirty six, and forty eight. br br Another important aspect of fiber optics is attenuation, which is decrease in power from one point to another. (Slide 9) Attenuation is measured in dB/km and a 3.0 dB/km loss corresponds to about a 50% loss in 1 km. One of the major advantages of fiber over copper is lower attenuation. Copper wires need repeaters about every three miles, but fiber can go without a repeater for sixty miles. br br There are two types of attenuation: intrinsic and extrinsic. Religion is a belief that unites people while it separates people, the belief that has cause countless wars and death all in its name. Well that is exactly what happened in the sixteenth century of Europe, a conflict began over religious ideologies. Europe s Wars of Religion was unlike most wars that claim to be based on religious reasons alone, the wars that erupted around Europe were all civil wars within Christianity. A great example of that would be one of the first conflicts of the religious wars, the peasants revolt. The ideologies were reaching the monarchs and they were converting to Protestantism for personal gain, not for religious values. Supporting the movement, was perfect for them because they finally have some control over the church officials. The king of Sweden was one of the first who converted, he declared that the Lutheranism is the official religion of his country. This caused Charles V the Holy Roman Emperor to give the converted Lutherans an ultimatum, return to the Catholic faith or there will be dire consequences. This resulted in a military alliance called the Schmalkaldic League. The Holy Roman emperor ended up defeating the league, Catholic France ended up coming to the Lutherans rescue. Despite their difference in their religious views at the moment they have a common enemy and that was enough. Charles gave into the pressure and realized that his empire is too vast for him to rule alone. In fact, my dad moved our whole family here mainly for us (his children) to get a good education. However, what he and many others are not aware of is the effects that economic inequality has on education. Jonathan Kozol s Fremont High discusses how the lack of funding affects the quality of education that students are receiving. Homeless on Campus by Eleanor J Bader brings light to the hardships of homeless college students and the fact that school institutions aren t providing them any assistance. On the other hand, Anu Partanen s Finland School Success explores how getting rid of economic inequality had greatly benefited education in Finland. Jonathan Kozol, who is an American writer, best known for his books on public education in the United States wrote about the condition of which students at a public high school in Los Angeles were going through. In his essay, Fremont High , Kozol informs us of how students success was being affected because of the lack of well equipped classrooms, as well as necessary classes to help them succeed in college. Background: According to George B. Kauffman of Britannica, a hydrate is any compound containing water in the form of H2O molecules, usually, but not always, with a definite content of water by weight. Within this, there are two aspects of the compound; the water of hydration and the anhydrous salt. When a hydrate is heated, the water of hydration leaves the compound as vapor due to the unsteady bonds between the water and salt molecules. The anhydrous salt ends up becoming the only piece that is leftover. From the two, the percent water in a hydrate and the mass of the salt can be determined from the loss of the water of hydration. As a result, the formula of the compound can be found because the masses of the salt and the water can be used to determine the mole ratio, which are both small, whole numbers. It began as a category one hurricane in the Bahamas and crossed the southern tip of Florida into the Gulf of Mexico, where is mixed with the warm waters and grew into a category five hurricane. After making landfall the second time, it weakened to a category three hurricane but still caused catastrophic damage to everything in its path. • 21. How Yom Kippur Is The Most Important Feast Of The Jewish... Yom Kippur is the most important feast in the Jewish calendar. The Jewish people celebrates this feat on every consecutive year. I chose to speak about the feast of Yom Kippur because it was inspired to me by one of the initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way (Carmen Hernandez). Hernandez had a deep love of for the Jewish Liturgies especially the feast of Yom Kippur. Every single year the Neocatechumenal Way in different countries has a retreat and in the retreat there is a special day reserved for conversion(confession). On this day of conversion all the members of the Neocatechumenal communities have to fast the whole day and feed themselves only with the word of God(Bible reading) and at the end of the day they confess all their sins in a penitential celebration. Hernandez always explained the relationship between Yom Kippur and the confession(penitential celebration) for us Catholic, that is why I have a special love for this feast because I heard of it every single year in the annual Neocatechumenal Way retreat. Another fact that pushed me to write about Yom Kippur is that we are in the year of mercy. So my paper will be based on the history of the Feast of Yom Kippur and Its origins and how it was prepared and celebrated among the Jewish. I will describe how the feast is celebrated and I will show its values in the Jewish faith. I will show as well how Jesus Christ celebrated the feast of Yom Kippur. The English political and legal processes that delivered this defiant captain and hundreds of others condemned for piracy to their final destination is the focus of this study. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After nearly two decades of anti pirate policies in the colonies, colonial officials no longer deemed it necessary to aggressively convict anyone suspected of piracy out of fear of losing their charter, as they had prior to 1705. Furthermore, the defining legal question leading to extreme ambiguity in the prosecution of pirates during the seventeenth century was at what point did acting outside of one s commission constitute an act of piracy? The conclusion of Great Britain s hostilities with France and Spain in 1713 rendered this question irrelevant as the new wave of pirates targeted primarily British, not neutral or allied ships, clearly defining their aggression as piracy. The change in targets also reduced the prosecution s need to rely on accomplice testimony, a source of controversy in civil law proceedings, since attacks occurring off nearby shores provided easier access to victim testimony. Finally, the increase in colonial newspapers and the dissemination of their publication of piracy trials reports did assist in reducing procedural inconsistencies, but not in the way previously suggested. • 37. Online Journalism and the New Media; Implications for... INTRODUCTION The new media announces a new period of media development in the world over, it is the one that preaches the significance of new communications technologies. The new media is not just a kind of information technology but also part and parcel of the social being of man in this modern society. At the threshold of this fairly new millennium (2000 A.D.), there was a sporadic turn around in the existing branches of the global media. This catapulted the world into a new information order that forcefully attempted to erode the conventional media. This turn around made the traditional media¡¦s dictators and gatekeepers to loose their hold. The sub ¡V editors, and editors who control what comes into the news, and by implication, what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dominick 2005: 312 THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE To best understand the thematic preoccupation of this work, the concept of critical mass theory as it applies to the adoption of a new communication technology is desirable and would be used. The term comes from physics, where critical mass refers to the minimum amount of material needed to trigger and sustain a radioactive chain reaction. The term has been loosely applied to communication and refers to the minimum number of people needed as adopters before a new communication technology can have a permanent place in the society Kaye and Medoff, 2001. Williams, Strover and Grant (1994) corroborate An interesting aspect of the critical mass perspective is that widespread use appears to have a snowball effect. Once a perceived critical mass is using the technology, those without it are strongly motivated to adopt it. The reasoning here is that despite the drawbacks, such as cost or difficulty in using the technology, people (and institutions) are pressured to adopt the technology because failure to do so may exclude them from existing communication networks. Markus (1987), while making a case for the adoption of interactive communication technologies, suggested three propositions in the adoption process as cited in Kaye and Medoff (2001). First, the adoption and use of technology is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Future Of Gas Prices The Future of Gas In the not so distant future, gas prices have the potential to hit a staggering $10 a gallon. Government policies also will limit the consumption to each family to a maximum of $250 per month. The cars of this time period have not increased the gas mileage per vehicle to any more than a dismal 20 miles per gallon. Families must find new ways of dealing with this situation and learn to manage only 500 miles of driving potential for the family car per month. The Smith family, consisting of a husband and wife with one beautiful child, proves to be whimsical and creative to manage this. In order to overcome this epic conservation mandate, oil reserves must be replenished or alternates fuel sources must be instituted and made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mrs. Smith is a stay at home mom as they just had their first child 6 months ago. The Smiths chose the home they purchased partly because of its close proximity to many things such as: schools, doctors and a town that is not too far from them. The close proximity to everything needed feels like a warm and inviting community setting; therefore, some people live in a community because it is where they grew up. Others choose a community because it is where they found work, such as the Smiths were able to accomplish (Jackson Sinclair, 2011). The Smiths home location has enabled them to budget the 500 mile a month limitation for now. Urban sprawl has enabled a multitude of families to venture further from big cities into home communities that are less expensive; however, the distance required to most amenities can be vast. It is not unheard of for some workers to commute greater than 50 miles per day. This would not be plausible if there was a 500 mile limitation on driving a personal vehicle. A typical month of driving for the Smiths has been reduced to less than 500 miles; consequently, this makes the carbon footprint they produce very small and saves them money along the way. The data presented in figure 1 above, illustrates that they are slightly negative for the month. This is OK, as the end of the month approaches; they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Different Kinds Of Polymers And Polymers A polymer is a large molecule that is made from many small repeating chemicals called monomers. In the Greek language, polymer literally means many parts. Polymers are being used more and more in medical devices, such as drug delivery, screws, plates, fixation pins, suture anchors and many other applications. Some of the most useful polymers for medical uses are poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(glycolic acid) (PGA). They are useful in medicine because of the fact that they can degrade within the body to lesser components that will cause very minimal negative effects. Scientists have found many different ways to control the degradation of these two polymers. Combining two or more different kinds of monomers during polymer formation is called copolymerization. Changing the amount of different kinds of monomers during copolymerization of either poly(lactic co glycolic) (PLGA) or PLA can change degradation characteristics. [2] For example, combining lactic acid and glycolic acid to make PLGA will degrade quicker. There are also stereo copolymers, such as L lactic acid, and D lactic acid which are the same chemical, but are mirror images of each other (figure 1). These can be combined to also lower the degradation times of PLA or PGLA. Figure 1. Difference between L and D lactic acids (Gupta et al, 2007) Synthesis of PLA and PLGA Synthesis of PLA is started through the fermentation of bacteria. • 41. John Peter Brief Biography John Peter (1900 1950) began his career in the early 1920 s, after a musical childhood and several years of study in US. By the time his first opera, The Protagonist (Peter Georg), was performed in April 1926, he was an established young German composer. But he had already decided to devote himself to the musical theater, and his works with Bertolt Brecht soon made him famous all over Europe. He fled the new Nazi leadership in March 1933 and continued his indefatigable efforts, first in Paris (1933 35), then in the U.S. until his death. Certain common threads tie together his career: a concern for social justice, an aggressive pursuit of highly regarded playwrights and lyricists as collaborators, and the ability to adapt to audience tastes no matter where he found himself. His most important works: the Violin Concerto (1925), The Threepenny Opera (Bertolt Brecht, 1928), Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny (Brecht, 1930), The Pledge (Caspar Neher, 1932), The Seven Deadly Sins (Brecht, 1933), Lady in the Dark (Moss Hart and Ira Gershwin, 1941), Street Scene (Elmer Rice and Langston Hughes, 1947), Lost in the Stars (Maxwell Anderson, 1949). He died of heart failure in 1950, shortly after he and Anderson began work on a musical adaptation of Huckleberry Finn, leaving behind a large catalogue of works and a reputation that continues to grow as more of his music is performed. ... Cleopatra was a strong, intelligent leader, and was very good at gaining and keeping political power. However, almost everyone in the Western world could conjure a picture of Cleopatra if asked to do so. But without question this image will be of an actress portraying the queen on film. Cleopatra has been a central character in over fifteen major films and countless television programmes. The first cinematic portrayal of Cleopatra was in the silent film of 1917 starring seductive actress Theda Bara. At the time this film was made it was the most expensive film to be made, this was due to the films opulent sets and costumes. However dues to some of the costumes the Hay Movie Codes deemed the film risqué the film is partially lost as the last known prints were burnt by a fire that happened at Fox Studios and Museum of Modern Art in New York. However a few fragments of the film survived. This may have been the first cause of the dramatic pattern of change in the perception of Cleopatra as a sexualised entity. Another portrayal of Cleopatra that has changed the perception of Cleopatra is the 1945 film Caesar and Cleopatra directed by Gabriel Pascal. • 45. The Evolving Relationship Between The U.s. Government And... Chaelee Dalton Burnett Honors World Religions November 7 2014 The Evolving Relationship Between the U.S. Government and the Mormon Church In 1844, Joseph Smith, ecclesiastical leader of the Latter day Saints and presidential candidate, was murdered by an angry mob. This mob was fostered by the release of a newspaper questioning Smith s practices (including polygamy), qualifications, and intentions for his potential presidency. More than 150 years later, Mitt Romney, a member of the LDS Church, launched a presidential campaign and garnered forty two percent of the popular vote. Although these two candidates share a faith, their political roles and views are substantially different. This is representative of the significant changes in the relationship between the Mormon church and the U.S. government. A homegrown religion originating in the late 1820s, Mormonism arose as a rejection of the existing Christian sects and a return to what the Mormons considered to be pure Christianity. Similarly, the members believed their desire for a new kind of government stemmed from their disillusionment with what they believed was a corrupt government and a desire for the reestablishment of true American values and the original intent of the founding fathers. This sentiment is epitomized by Joseph Smith s presidential platform, which states No honest man can doubt for a moment, the glory of American liberty is on the wane; and that calamity and confusion will sooner or later destroy the ... Well whatever you are reading this on prepare to empty you re wallet s because this new technology will surly brighten your day! LED s or Light Emitting Diodes have been around since the 60 s and I think they are starting to decline. The new technology slowly replacing LED s are OLED s or Organic Light Emitting Diodes. Now these are special because they contain small quantities of organic material such as carbon. OLED s feature many vase improvements over its older friend LED s, these include: flexibility, durability, transparency and the list goes on! Although this all comes with an unfortunately large price tag. While OLED s are a great technology nowadays they have not always been so advanced. The first working OLED was created in 1987 by Ching W. Tang and Steven Van Slyke at Eastman Kodak. Although this was the first technically working OLED, electroluminescence the principle OLED s use was first reported in 1953 by A. Bernanose, M. Comte, and P.
