Aristotle Persuasion
In definition rhetorical theory is a theory where the speaker is giving a persuasion to the audience
in the form of logical, emotional, and ethical aspect. Greek philosopher Aristotle is the first person
that came to up the idea of the art of persuasion, an art that is use for public speaking, where he
explains that there are three types of persuasion such as, deliberative, forensic, and epideictic.
Aristotlealso includes that the important element of public speaking or persuasive communication
is the audience. Audience is the most important aspect of persuasion, considering if there is no
audience, then there is no act of persuasion. In the past Aristotle or ancient term and idea of

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Hvc
Modren HVDC systems are having many advantages than HVAC sytems. Two AC systems are
connected using a new VSC MMC based Hybrid HVDC system in this paper which gives many
advantages than the conventional HVDC systems and LCC VSC Hybrid systems. The proposed
system gives the fast dynamic response by using different control stratagies. The active and reactive
power is controlled and the dc line voltage is maintained constant at inverter station. Under steady
state and transient conditions the system performance is investigated by MATLAB simulations.
The results show the feasibility of the hybrid system.
Keywords: HVDC system, LCC VSC Hybrid system, MMC(Modular Multilevel Converter).

given and then the control strategies for the rectifier and inverter is presented. Finally the
performance of system under steady state and transient conditions is discussed with the help of

CONFIGURATION OF HYBRID HVDC SYSTEM
In this paper, a hybrid VSC MMC based HVDC transmission system supplying a passive load is
investigated. Fig.1 shows the basic configuration of the Hybrid HVDC Transmission system. It
consists of a VSC connected to the sending end AC network, and a MMC connected to the
receiving end network.
The power flow in the system is always unidirectional. The power is exported from the sending
end AC network via DC tie to the receiving end passive network. The proposed system is best
suited for power transmission to islands and remote load centers, since the receiving network is
usually weak or even passive.

Ezra Williams Research Paper
Along with William s engagement with Ezra Pound and the Imagist Movement, his poetry was
influenced by his many different travels. His travels around Europe and the United States was the
true reason that his poetry was a great success. On his travels throughout Europe, Williams met
other poets, and saw different ways in which poetryhad been written. One major travel of Williams
was his trip to London in 1910. Williams visited his friend Ezra Poundin London, to receive literary
advice on his poems he had written one year before. An example from his 1909 poems is a poem
called The Uses of Poetry. Williams wrote, I ve fond anticipation of a day/O er Filled with pure

The Financial Audit Of The World s Financial Audits
The majority of the world s financial audits are dominated by four major audit firms, which are
known as the Big 4 (PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst Young, KPMG, and Deloitte). Prior studies
suggest that these firms, on average, provide higher quality audit services and also exhibit a fee
premium in comparison with their non Big 4 auditfirms; however, it is questionable that whether all
these Big 4 audit firms are the same and that whether there are differences in audit quality within the
Big 4.
In term of total audit fee dollars, PwC maintains its leadership position among the Big 4
(Appendix A, table 1), followed by Deloitte, Ernst Young and KPMG. In 2014, PwC generated
$15 billion from its audit service 44% more than those earned by KPMG. PwC also ranked as
the most prestigious accounting firm (Appendix A, table 2) in 2015 according to the Vault s
annual Accounting Survey as reported in table 2, followed by Ernst Young, Deloitte and
KPMG. Following qualitative responses are also taken during the Vault s survey to describe
their perception of firms other than their own: Most prestigious of the Big 4 Very aggressive
firm but over promises in the marketplace Doesn t seem to care about audit anymore
Overworking employees beyond every other firm Not a good work/life balance Big 3 s kid
brother Least prestigious of the Big 4 . These responses indicate potential variations within the Big
4 firms based on the outside perception of a firm.

TTY Research Papers
The item I decided to do for my paper is the TTY. A TTY is a special device that lets people who
are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired use the telephone to communicate, by allowing
them to type messages back and forth to one another instead of talking and listening. This device
was built in 1964 by Robert Weitbrecht. He was a deaf scientist who was born on April 11, 1920
in California. He loved science since his teacher use to take them to factories and he started to be
interested in factories. He was taught how to read lips and talk from his mother but he also went
to school with other deaf kids. Robert didn t build the TTY until he got out of college but when he
was in high school he built his own telescope and he also built a camera... Show more content on

I think this object will be a key to the future since people already can t stay off their phones and
this would mean that everybody would need this type of technology to talk and to basically to do
anything that requires communication with another person. The TTY has five different names
that people have used for it over the years. One name for it is the teleprinter which is an
Electromechanical typewriter paired with a communication channel. The next name for a TTY is
Telecommunication device for the deaf which is a teleprinter designed for people with hearing or
speech difficulties. Another name is Text terminal which is a serial computer interface for text
entry and display. The other name for a TTY is called the Terminal emulator which is a program
that emulates a video terminal within some other display. The last name that the TTY has is the
Getty also known as the Unix which is allowing switching between X window system and
command line interface. But the TTY is also better now and days because with the cochlear implant
you have to get surgery done and who knows if they put it in right or if they mess the whole
surgery up and you don t function as good anymore unlike before the surgery. Plus now that all

The French Revolution Essay
In the latter years of the eighteenth century, France was an aristocratic bureaucracy, presided over
by sovereign monarch Louis XVI. France was ruled under the Ancien RГ©gime; a social and
political system established by the French in the early renaissance period of the fifteenth century,
until the late eighteenth century where it was violently overturned in the French Revolution. Under
the Ancien RГ©gime the richer a man was, the less he paid. 1 The French Revolution, beginning
in 1789 was an era of social and political upheaval that saw the collapse of the absolute monarchy
and its prejudice class system. Before the French Revolution of 1789, France was subject to a
social division dictated by ones circumstance of birth and wealth. The... Show more content on

The first estate, also known as the Clergy, experienced select entitlements, ...besides its honorific
preeminence, the Clergy possessed very great privileges. 2 The Clergy were exempt from
certain conventions of law and were not subjected to direct taxes, instead they were to give free
donations to the king, donations determined on the clergies own authority. This system meant
that those of the first estate were rarely obliged to any form of taxation, especially taxation of
free will. The Clergy were closely allied with the monarchy, whose divine right was symbolized
by the religious ceremony of coronation, the clergy exercised a control over thought in the
interests of both Church and king, possessed a monopoly in education and shared in the
censorship of everything that was lawfully printed. 3 Contributing to the Clergies power and
affluence was the collection of tithes on its property; bishops often acted as lords over a village,
and as a result, they were to receive payment from those they imposed taxes on. These were often
the poorest peasants who worked the land of the Clergy.
The Nobility, or the second estate, lived the most favorable existence of those in post renaissance
France. The Nobility did not possess as many exemptions and privileges as the Clergy, but were

Before I took the American Deaf Culture Quiz I thought I would have known a lot but come to

Sign Language. Also I had found that 90% of Deaf people marry other Deaf people. From this
test I learned some rules that apply in the Deaf world that would be totally different in the hearing
world. I thought that walking through a conversation would be considered rude, but in their world
it s impolite to just sit there and wait till they are done signing. Likewise their facial expression us

Social Play Analysis
A). Play as defined in our book is an activity that is intrinsically motivated, focused on means
rather than ends, different from purely exploratory behavior, nonliteral, and free from externally
applies rules (Gross, 225). There are different types of play such as play with objects, social play,
and pretend symbolic play. Play with objects depends on age for example a child between the age
of birth to 4 months uses exploratory type of play, repetitive motor movements such kicking
legs, reaching for or sucking their toes, and rolling over. Whereas a child who is between the age
of 24 months and 36 months uses fine motor play which allows them to play with Play doh and
put together puzzles. Social play is playing with a responsive human playmate. This could be the
child s mother, father or caregiver. Pretend/symbolic play usually emerges after the first birthday,
when children behave in a nonliteral way, acting as if they were performing familiar routines, such
as eating, going to sleep, or washing their face (Gross, 195).... Show more content on

This topic is interesting to me as it amazes me how as we grow playing takes different forms to
us. It is also interesting because as we get older we can give meaning to objects making playing
more intentional. Playing also caught my attention as before reading about this topic in our
book I would have never correlated pointing and naming games as mothers using it as a way to
teach their child, I use to believe they would do this just to have fun with their child. I was
interested in this topic as well because I never knew play was different in cultures I always
believed it meant the same thing. It also interested me as when I get older and have kids of my
own I will use play to teach, a process known as

The Life Of Prophet Muhammad
Amine Lehachi
Islamic History 1100
Mrs. Jorati
September 20th, 2015 The Life of Prophet Muhammad
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH Peace be upon him) is the messenger of God in Islam. He was
born in the city of Makkah (Mecca) in the Arabian Peninsula around 570 CE. Many historians
believe he became an orphan at a very early age. The Arabian Peninsula at the time had no law or
order; people were described as savages for their ill customs and traditions. People of Arabia
worshipped idols and ancient Arabian religions; some were also Christian and Jewish. When it
came to religion people were divided in the region, people were divided into tribes and had
different sets of beliefs. Prophet Muhammad set to change this, he wanted to unify the region and
establish an independent nation. Before he started his Prophecy he married an older woman, a
widow named Khadijah, for whom he had worked for in the caravan trade. When he was a
merchant, he was known as al Amin, the trusted one. When Prophet Muhammad was forty years
old, he had a profound experience that really changed his life. In this essay I will evaluate the
significant events of his career starting with The First revelation; The migration to Medina and
lastly the great Battle of Badr. These significant events play an important role on how the
foundation of a newly reformed monotheistic religion called Islam came to be.
A significant event that really changed the course of his life was when Prophet Muhammad was 40
years old.

Abolitionist Literature in the Eighteenth Century
Abolitionist literature was particularly influential during the eighteenth century because readers
were provided with a more complex understanding of the concept of slavery and of the damaging
effects that it had on individuals. The fact that individuals who actually experienced life as a slave
from a first person perspective were actively involved in producing abolitionist literature further
contributed to the intense feelings that people underwent as they were reading passages in these
books. Individuals like Frederick Douglass and Harriet Beecher Stowe were among the most
renowned abolitionist writers and their works played an essential role in emphasizing the
wrongness of slavery.
Frederick Douglass was among the people who were unfortunate enough to experience life as a
slave. However, in comparison to other individuals who were mentally and physically rendered
unable to fight for themselves and for their kind, he found the power to get actively involved in
criticizing the institution of slavery. The fact that he had a limited understanding of the
abolitionist movement at the time when he joined it did not stop him from producing one of the
most thrilling accounts regarding life as a slave. Douglass was a very good orator and this was
one of the most important reasons why he managed to induce strong feelings in individuals who
he spoke in front of. Moreover, his ability to read and write also assisted him greatly in a society
where these powers were rarely found in a

Dream Of The Rood Vs. The Bible
The Dream of the Rood vs. The Bible The Bible has been translated into 451 languages, sold over
6 billion times, and depicted in over 40 movies. The Bible and the crucifixion of the Messiah are
an important aspect in cultures all around the world today. The death, burial, and resurrection of
Jesus Christ has been translated, dramatized, televised, adapted, and cartooned. In The Dream of
the Rood, translated by R.M. Liuzza, the Biblical cross comes to life to tell its own version of
Christ s death and resurrection. The author changed the Biblical account to appeal to the Anglo
Saxon warrior group to effectively convert them. However, the story from the cross s perspective in
many ways matches the Biblical account of the crucifixion without... Show more content on

For example, most of the warriors this poem would have been told to were illiterate and may
have not heard of the gospel at all. Similarly, the interest of the listeners must be kept throughout
the poem. The point of the poem is to convert, but if attention is lost the poem is not effective in
its primary objective. Readers today read the poem and see that Christ has been turned into such
warrior that he eagerly jumped on the cross to die (introduction). The cross sees Christ as a
young hero made ready that was God almighty / strong and resolute; he ascended on the high
gallows, / brave in the sight of many, when he wanted to ransom mankind (38 40 emphasis
mine). A warrior would not shy away from battle or war; in this case the battle was against death
and sin, and the warrior is Christ. For readers today, the understanding of what happened at the
crucifixion and the significance of those events according the Bible, skews the way readers view
the poem. The perspective glasses of today s culture are often used to interpret the crucifixion
according to the Bible. The same perspective is used to read, analyze, and interpret The Dream of

Analysis Of The Dream Of The Rood
It is well known that the way a story is written has an impact on how the reader understands it.
There are certain aspects of a story where the author has the ability to control how it is
interpreted. The Dream of the Rood is written so that it makes it difficult for the reader to see
the difference between a savior and a warrior. If a story was written simply stating the individual
s goal rather than how that goal was achieved it would be easy to see them as a savior but it
could be difficult to see them as a warrior. Presenting literary analysis from different sources will
explain how the author portrayed the protagonists as both saviors and warriors and by comparing
characteristics of both will explain why they were portrayed this way.... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
In The Dream of the Rood if Christ was presented the same way, while he would still be
considered a savior, one would find it difficult to convince others to view him as warrior as well.
But, because Christ is presented as a confident hero, the poet displays his willingness and
selflessness to follow through with the crucifixion because he knows it is for the benefit of all
mankind.
In the poem, the rood, or cross, is depicted as the individual telling the story of the crucifixion. The
poet writes the story so it is understood that the cross is, like Jesus, a warrior. If the cross can tell a
tale it is assumed that it would possess the ability to experience feelings. By explaining the cross
experience in the way the poet does it is easy to see how the cross possesses warrior like
characteristics.
I trembled when the man embraced me; I dared not bow down to earth, stoop to the surface of the
ground, but I had to stand fast.
I was reared a rood; I raised up a mighty king, the heaven s lord; I dared not bow in homage.
(Dream of the Rood, 41 45)
The poem explains the feelings of the cross throughout the crucifixion and after. Because the cross
knows what the future holds when Christ is approaching and is able to withstand the torture and
remain strong, for it knows it is fighting alongside Christ throughout the ordeal, the cross is
deserving of being considered a warrior. If the cross was taken out of this story and replaced with a
man

Genetic Disorders Case Studies
Beth has a few options to determine if her baby is at risk for having a genetic disorder. The first
step Beth can take is visiting her gynecologist. While there she can start to discuss her concerns,
and go over her options. She can go through genetic counselling and then move onto ultrasounds
and amniocentesis. If further tests warrant she can do chorionic villus sampling or CVS.
Beth can go through genetic counselling which is where she can discuss her family medical
history and this will determine whether or not her baby is at risk. This is where the counselor
takes into consideration any diseases or problems that run in the family. They then can determine
if one of the parents is a carrier and their genotype by doing blood work. Both Beth and her

Samuel Gompers Chapter Summary
For this assignment, I chose to read Samuel Gompers and Organized Labor in America written

discusses his role in organizing the American Federation of Labor. Livesay evaluates Samuel
Gompers struggle to create the American Federation of Labor. He describes the struggle the
American Federation of Labor went through for survival. Basically, he tells the story of how
Samuel Gompers worked his whole adult life to create the American Federation of Labor. Livesay
divided the book into ten chapters, which were arranged chronologically. The headings for the
chapter were appropriate for each, as they described what would follow in each chapter. Each

He presented what I felt to be well researched and thorough information. He did not drift off of
topic or provide misleading information. He did not provide unnecessary information, I felt that
all information provided was essential for telling Gomper s story. However, I felt that even
though the chapters were divided chronologically, the author jumped around to different dates
too much. I felt that he should have waited to mention some things until there appropriate
chapters. He repeated some information that had been previously mentioned in other chapters. I
felt that the chronological order of the material is the way it should have been presented.
Presenting it in a topical organization would have probably thrown the reader off course. I had
only partially learned of Samuel Gompers in my studies and felt that the book enhanced my
knowledge of how much he struggled to make his dream a reality. The book tells how much he
gave up to make his dream possible. I did not realize how ruthless Gompers could be in making
the AF of L what it became. Livesay mentions Sam rarely admitted to his mistakes. But claiming
credit and ducking blame was just one of the ways Gompers consolidated his power (page 105).
This explains that Gompers was not always the honest and hardworking man I had thought he was.
But again, I hadn t learned much about him. This book helped me to get to know Gompers on a

The Change Of A New Executive Board
The notion of change is a concept often correlated with intimidation, apprehension and fear. The
uncertainty and risk revolving around the results of change is a gamble people do not like to
take. Whether it is as simple as trying a new dish at a favorite restaurant, adding new departments
to a business, electing a new executive board or entirely turning away from a previously
successful system to a experimental innovative structure, the parallel between the unknown
outcome and change often are a cause of trepidation. When it comes to altering a system in a
corporate setting the probability of failure, acts as prevention for adjustment or reformation to
occur. Once a prosperous platform or structure is established, it is unlikely for a conglomerate to
disaffiliate from those workings and follow a new path of novelty. However, the broadcasting
network, CBS, was not afraid to take the plunge of change as author, Todd Gitlan explains in the
chapter The Turn Toward Relevance. Realizing the networkwas claiming a static position in relation
to its production as well as the audience, CBS daringly reformed itself to reflect the changing
cultural times within the nation. Despite CBS s stability as a leader among other competing
broadcasting networks, the fear of failure in correlation to brand change did not alarm the network,
rather their understanding to implement of a new pace, audience and turn toward industrial change

City s Central park with human ecology in mind. Using the Victorian English country park as an
outline, he created a green space that negated the hustle and bustle of the populous city. The need
for such a park was obvious to Olmstead, providing a refreshment to both mind and nerves.
Following such a model is Teardrop Park, which successfully acts as both a refuge and restorative
addition to New York City. Located in the lower Manhattan region the park was designed by
Michael Van Valkenberg.
Valkenburg and his team of associates employed McHarg s Strategy, incorporating knowledge from

The Procurement Structure Of An Organization Essay
The Procurement Structure Figure 1 Organization Flow Chart The delivery method chosen here
is the Construction Manager at Risk. The explanation for selection of this method is given
below: A strict time frame: The time frame alloted is an overall period of 2 years in which only
14 months is alloted for the construction processes. So CM at risk would be a better option since
a construction manager can be appointed early on in the design phase and he can work closely
with the client s professional team and even offer advice on the project. A stringent Budget: The
budget given is a very strict one of $60 million. A proposal of using a GMP contract would be
beneficial to the client as the client can t allow more that the alloted $60 million. Flexibility: This
method offers good flexibility to the client throughout the project. He can make changes and look
for feasibility to make the changes with the Construction manager added in the team. Complexity
The project taken under consideration is considerably complex enough and of higher value and
might very well require sophosticated management techniques and hence this delivery method
seems to be a viable option. Love, Skitmore, Earl (1998) put forth the results obtained from
consultants in the form of a table which help us in the selection of a procurement method according
to the priorities of the client. Table 1 below shows the same. Table 1 Mean Utility factors of criteria

Machiavelli s Satire
The basic principles of satire include the usage of writing techniques to criticize, expose, and
ridicule a topic or group of people. Techniques include the usage of comedy, irony, and
exaggerations. Its purpose is to point out foolishness or flaws of said topic, in hopes for
improvement in the real world. Irony is a common form of satirein which something is done or
said, but has another (often opposite) meaning. Irony is a form of satire because a character in a
story/play being ironic can be considered satirical. Due to satire s comedic nature, it is capable of
exploiting and demonstrating follies in society or a group of people without coming off entirely
offensive, making it a desirable form of writing to spread ideas and beliefs. Machiavelli s

The Role Of Traditional Family Life Cycle
Traditional Family Life Cycle The stages the typical consumer passes through from childhood to
death of spouse or partner is known as the family life cycle. The typical stages of a traditional
family life cycle were as follows:
1.Bachelor stage
2.Young newlyweds with no children
3.Full nest I: youngest child under the age of six
4.Full nest II: youngest child over six
5.Full nest III: older married or with dependent children
6.Empty nest I: older married couples with dependent children, head in labor force
7.Empty nest II: older married couple, no children living at home
8.Solitary survivor in labor force
9.Solitary survivor retired
As the stages transition characteristics of the life cycle change as well. During different stages of
life the different circumstances lead to different priorities in their purchasing decisions. The family
life cycle listed above is becoming less traditional. People are making the choice to be and
remain single throughout the course of their lives. Many marriages end up in divorce and later
remarry to create blended families. Families may consist of two same individuals of the same
sex sharing a household and raising children, or a single person not involved in a relationship
raising a child. There are many types of households. For the purpose of this paper the nine stages
of the traditional family life cycle will be used to determine who would most be attracted the Avera

Essay on Basketball Needs To Be Fixed
Basketball Needs to Be Fixed
Professional and college basketball have become very popular in the hearts and minds of many
Americans. Millions of dollars a year are spent on apparel, tickets, and television all generated by
people s love for basketball.
But in the last couple of years, both the National Basketball Association (NBA) and college
basketball have lost a substantial amount of their competition and have caught much criticizim for
it. At the heart of this problem is a single cause, greed. The game of basketball has become all
about money instead of the game and its fans. This problem needs to be addressed, and the best
place to start is with the college players, or more specifically, the NBA draft. ... Show more content

College basketball markets their teams after their best players, when those players decide to go
pro early, the promotion of college basketball is hurt; along with the overall talent level of the
league is lowered drastically. Games become less interesting because the players are not as talented.
This in turn hurts the television networks because people do not like watching games in which they
do not know who the players are.
And then, that in turn hurts the league and the schools again because the networks will not pay as
much to televise the games as they once did.
The schools and the league are not the only ones hurt, by leaving school early hoping to make
the big bucks the players hurt themselves. In the world that we live in today, if you do not have a
college degree, opportunities are limited. Look at the statistics, 60 players are drafted each year,
and there are only 360 roster spots in the entire NBA. The chances that each player drafted will
make the team is almost an impossibility. Some people go back to school and try to finish their
degrees, but most do not because once you give up your eligibility, you cannot get it back, with
means most of them cannot afford to go back to school. This leaves a lot of people out of work and
with no degree. By keeping the college players in school, most will achieve

A Comparison Of Mark Twain And Mark Twain
Nelson Mandela once said, Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change
the world. As the world grew, Mark Twain and Langston Hughes became writers, poets, and so on.
With the knowledge that Hughes and Twain had, they made impacts on the world. However, the
ability that these two men had allowed them to be motivational historical figures. Still today, their
works and ideas for writing are still helpful to other writers. As writers, these two had fluent and
intellectual minds, they did not give up. So therefore, with Twain and Hughes being such prominent
figures with immaculate writing capabilities, their masterpieces can be compared.
Twain said, ...it is good to begin life poor; it is good to begin life rich these are wholesome; but to
begin it prospectively rich! The man who has not experienced it [poverty] cannot imagine the curse

addition, Mark Twain started writing short stories that evolved over time. Not all people in the
world have the most wealthiest lifestyle, Twain, on the other hand, was born 2 months premature
and also had to deal with poor health for ten years of his life. Mark Twain had no one to turn to

Investigative Techniques Of A Bomb Investigation
Investigative Techniques
In life every individual develops his or her way in which they do things. For example, you may
put your shoes on and then your coat to go outside while others may do that action in reverse. The
key though is that both people put their shoes and coat on before going outside. Just as in that
example there are certain steps to a bomb investigation, in which some investigators may do in a
different order but in the end all of the steps will be complete. There are certain questions an
investigator must ask while proceeding through those steps as well. The biggest thing that one
needs to know about investigating an explosion is that it is a rare occurrence and in the case of
recent events ends up affecting not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, TNT is roughly inexpensive and has roughly 15 different blends and can be detected
through nitro aromatics (Toal, Sanchez, Dugan, Trogler, 2007). As stated above there are several
different ways in which that compound can be detected is utilizing Photoluminescent Metallole
containing Polymers.
However, before one can look for any trace or components of an explosive we must first
understand what questions need to be answered. There are five questions that through an
investigation must be answered. If those questions are answered you will most likely arrive at a
perpetrator. These five questions are as follows:
1.Was the explosion accidental or intentional?
2.If it was intentional, what was the target?
3.What was used to make the explosive device?
4.What level of skill was needed to make the device?
5.Where were the materials to make the device obtained from?
If an investigator answers those five questions they more than likely will be able to answer the
more important question of who detonated the device. The question then becomes how one goes
about answering those questions. In a book written by Charles and Gregory O Hara (2003) there
was a comprehensive guide to these type of investigations that encompass six useful factors:
1.Target

An Influential Psychologists Of All Times
One of the most influential psychologists of all times is Burrhus Frederic Skinner, also known as
B. F. Skinner, who was born on March 20, 1904 in a small town called Susquehanna,
Pennsylvania. B. F. Skinner was raised in a warm and wealthy home. His father was a lawyer
and his mother was a stay at home mom. In Skinner s early childhood, it was noted that he and his
younger brother, Edward James, liked to build things such as arrows and shack in the woods, to
name a few ( ). These construction skills would enable an older Skinner to build the equipment
invented for his psychologyresearch. As he grew up, he went through all twelve grades at the same
school, graduating with less than eight students. Within these years, he developed an interest in art
and literature through drawing and later reading Shakespeare (Dews, 1970).
In Skinner s higher education, he attended Hamilton College in New York, where he majored in
English Literature to become a writer ( ). Soon after college, Skinner tried to write his first
psychological novel but failed to do so because of family trouble and lack of success. After
becoming discontent with his literary skills, and inspired by John B. Watson and Ivan Pavlov s
Behaviorism, he obtained a degree in psychology from Harvard University in 1928. Soon after,
Skinner graduated with his PhD from Harvard in 1931, which led him to the development of his

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has works from artists known around the world for their
beautiful creations. My focus was on artists from Spain, two of which were Diego VelГЎzquez and
El Greco from the seventeenth century. During the seventeenth century, many Spanish painters
were getting commissioned around the world to paint for monarchs. Diego Velazquez was born in
Seville, Spain. During his lifetime, he had visited Italy in search of artistic inspiration. Italy, which
happened to be very religious at the time, influenced Velazquez to include religion in many of his
works, but those are showcased in different parts of the world, not at the Met. Diego Velazquez was

El Greco was born in Crete, Greece, where he mastered Byzantine, and also Post Byzantine, art,
which is similar to Diego Velazquez. El Greco, like Diego Velazquez, also portrays religion
vastly in his paintings such as works like Opening of the Fifth Seal (1609, El Greco). In this
piece he has the people portrayed in a way as if they would be calling out or reaching out to grab
something or someone. The naked individuals are prosecuted martyrs are said to be crying out to
god for justice upon their persecutors on Earth (Book of Revelation (6:9 11)). However, El Greco
was focused mainly on mannerism, that dominated Italy all throughout the sixteenth century. He
learned mannerism when he moved from Crete to Rome, and he also learned more about the
Venetian Renaissance. Velazquez and his works had nothing to do with mannerism. But
nonetheless, both El Greco and Diego Velazquez, due to their time spent in Italy, used Venetian
colors: neutral, conservative shades of greens, reds, blues, grays and yellows. Spanish artists tended
to move around a lot during their era to learn how to perfect their crafts, and Italy was a hub of
their era for art. People were very critical of El Greco because of his demeanor towards God and
religion. Although his works tended to be focused on religion, it was not in a very good way. He
would put people on top of Christ in his paintings, which did not sit well in Italy or

Effects Of Hormones And Antibiotics On Animals And Humans
The Effects of Consuming Hormones and Antibiotics to Animals and Humans Not everyone
knows what they are eating on a daily basis. Some believe what they read from the label on a
package. While another will go with what a commercial that they heard on the television said. The
truth of the matter is that you can not go around believing everything that someone has said. The
only way that you can be certain as to what you are eating is if you actually know what has gone
into the process of preparing that meal. There are many ways that someone can protect themselves
and their family from getting these possibly life threatening illnesses that could harm not just your
life, but also a future child that could possibly be consumed later on down the road. Throughout the
past couple decades, researches have discovered the causes of consuming of hormones and
antibiotics in both animals and humans. Nine out of ten calves in the United States are given
hormonal growth stimulators. Some of the reasons why farmers would give their animals hormone
growth stimulators and antibiotics would be so the animals would grow faster than they normally
would. Since the animals are growing faster, the farmers are making more money. The way that
they are making more than what they would be without using hormones and antibiotics is because
the animals tend to eat more the longer they are alive. If the animals are getting a boost in their
growing process, they will not be consuming as much food,

Claudius s Craziness In Hamlet
As Hamlet might seem like one to be thoughtful of his actions, he changes as he suddenly acts
crazy. This craziness is used as a cover for a plan to kill Claudius. It is almost as if this sudden

his feet as he contemplates, Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift/ As meditation or the
thoughts of love/ May sweep to my revenge (I.vi.35 37). Speaking to the ghostof old Hamlet, he

With uncertainty of trusting the ghost, while pretending to be crazy, he organizes a play,
wherein I ll catch the conscious of the king (II.ii.634). Although it might seem like Hamlet
inherits philosophical aspects, it is the fear that is holding him back. He procrastinates the
murder of the king, as he apprehends facing death. This theme is further repeated when he says,
Now might I do it pat. Now he is a praying. / And now I ll do t. And so he goes to heaven. / And
so am I revenged. That would be scanned. / A villain kills my father, and, for that, / I, his sole
son, do this same villain send / To heaven. / Oh, this is hire and salary, not revenge (III.iii.77 84).
Hamlet begins to overthink his objective by postponing the murder. This waiting represents the
fear Hamlet contains. His conscience does not allow him to follow through with the murder.
These characters resemble correlative traits when Claudius ordered Hamlet to be sent to England
with fear and trepidation, To bear all smooth and even, / This sudden sending him away must
seem / Deliberate pause. Diseases desperate grown / By desperate appliance are relieved, / Or not
at all, (IV.iii.7 11) foreseeing danger if he stayed around. Afraid that his life may be threatened,
Claudius sends Hamlet away, instead of confronting him like a man. At this point, Claudius displays

Why US Consumers Buy Foreign Goods
For the first time in many years, ordinary people in the US are worrying about the economic
future of the country. The underlying reason for this worry is a realization that the secret
perpetual motion engine of the economy has run short of what you might call fuel , for want of
a better word. Here are the key steps in this critical cycle in the economic life of the nation: 1. US
consumers buy foreign goods 2. Part of the profit from these sales is invested in additional
foreign goods to be sold to US consumers and the remainder is invested in US financial
institutions 3. The financial institutions lend the dollars to US consumers 4. US consumers buy

However, they are extremely controversial. People tend to have extremely strong opinions about
credit cards. On one side, we have those who vehemently criticize credit cards as the modern evil
that has brought financial ruin to so many Americans. At the other extreme, we have those who see
credit cards necessary instruments for establishing and improving one s credit history and for
learning financial restraint ( Credit cards, n.d.). So, which side is correct? Do credit cards spell
financial doom or are they a useful and valuable tool in our society today? In order for us to

credit cards. First, think about some of the possible advantages of having credit cards. The first
thing that comes to my mind is convenience. Credit cards are so tiny that they can easily fit in
your pocket. Also, most places readily take credit cards these days. And we cannot forget that
credit cards can minimize our need to count money at the cash register or to wait to buy that

cards are relatively convenient to carry and use ( Credit cards, n.d., Pros section). Moreover,

Two AC systems are connected using a new VSC MMC based Hybrid HVDC system in this paper which gives many advantages than the conventional HVDC systems and LCC VSC Hybrid systems. The proposed system gives the fast dynamic response by using different control stratagies. The active and reactive power is controlled and the dc line voltage is maintained constant at inverter station. Under steady state and transient conditions the system performance is investigated by MATLAB simulations. The results show the feasibility of the hybrid system. Keywords: HVDC system, LCC VSC Hybrid system, MMC(Modular Multilevel Converter). INTRODUCTION Bulk power transfer can be carried out Over long distances by a high voltage direct current (HVDC) connection is cheaper than by a HVAC transmission line. His travels around Europe and the United States was the true reason that his poetry was a great success. On his travels throughout Europe, Williams met other poets, and saw different ways in which poetryhad been written. One major travel of Williams was his trip to London in 1910. Williams visited his friend Ezra Poundin London, to receive literary advice on his poems he had written one year before. An example from his 1909 poems is a poem called The Uses of Poetry. • 6. The Financial Audit Of The World s Financial Audits The majority of the world s financial audits are dominated by four major audit firms, which are known as the Big 4 (PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst Young, KPMG, and Deloitte). Prior studies suggest that these firms, on average, provide higher quality audit services and also exhibit a fee premium in comparison with their non Big 4 auditfirms; however, it is questionable that whether all these Big 4 audit firms are the same and that whether there are differences in audit quality within the Big 4. In term of total audit fee dollars, PwC maintains its leadership position among the Big 4 (Appendix A, table 1), followed by Deloitte, Ernst Young and KPMG. In 2014, PwC generated $15 billion from its audit service 44% more than those earned by KPMG. PwC also ranked as the most prestigious accounting firm (Appendix A, table 2) in 2015 according to the Vault s annual Accounting Survey as reported in table 2, followed by Ernst Young, Deloitte and KPMG. Following qualitative responses are also taken during the Vault s survey to describe their perception of firms other than their own: Most prestigious of the Big 4 Very aggressive firm but over promises in the marketplace Doesn t seem to care about audit anymore Overworking employees beyond every other firm Not a good work/life balance Big 3 s kid brother Least prestigious of the Big 4 . • 7. TTY Research Papers The item I decided to do for my paper is the TTY. A TTY is a special device that lets people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired use the telephone to communicate, by allowing them to type messages back and forth to one another instead of talking and listening. This device was built in 1964 by Robert Weitbrecht. He was a deaf scientist who was born on April 11, 1920 in California. He loved science since his teacher use to take them to factories and he started to be interested in factories. He was taught how to read lips and talk from his mother but he also went to school with other deaf kids. Robert didn t build the TTY until he got out of college but when he was in high school he built his own telescope and he also built a camera... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think this object will be a key to the future since people already can t stay off their phones and this would mean that everybody would need this type of technology to talk and to basically to do anything that requires communication with another person. The TTY has five different names that people have used for it over the years. One name for it is the teleprinter which is an Electromechanical typewriter paired with a communication channel. The next name for a TTY is Telecommunication device for the deaf which is a teleprinter designed for people with hearing or speech difficulties. Another name is Text terminal which is a serial computer interface for text entry and display. The other name for a TTY is called the Terminal emulator which is a program that emulates a video terminal within some other display. The last name that the TTY has is the Getty also known as the Unix which is allowing switching between X window system and command line interface. But the TTY is also better now and days because with the cochlear implant you have to get surgery done and who knows if they put it in right or if they mess the whole surgery up and you don t function as good anymore unlike before the surgery. France was ruled under the Ancien RГ©gime; a social and political system established by the French in the early renaissance period of the fifteenth century, until the late eighteenth century where it was violently overturned in the French Revolution. Under the Ancien RГ©gime the richer a man was, the less he paid. 1 The French Revolution, beginning in 1789 was an era of social and political upheaval that saw the collapse of the absolute monarchy and its prejudice class system. The prominent disparity between these three estates lead to social discontent that would cause the swift and vehement French Revolution. The first estate, also known as the Clergy, experienced select entitlements, ...besides its honorific preeminence, the Clergy possessed very great privileges. 2 The Clergy were exempt from certain conventions of law and were not subjected to direct taxes, instead they were to give free donations to the king, donations determined on the clergies own authority. This system meant that those of the first estate were rarely obliged to any form of taxation, especially taxation of free will. The Clergy were closely allied with the monarchy, whose divine right was symbolized by the religious ceremony of coronation, the clergy exercised a control over thought in the interests of both Church and king, possessed a monopoly in education and shared in the censorship of everything that was lawfully printed. 3 Contributing to the Clergies power and affluence was the collection of tithes on its property; bishops often acted as lords over a village, and as a result, they were to receive payment from those they imposed taxes on. These were often the poorest peasants who worked the land of the Clergy. The Nobility, or the second estate, lived the most favorable existence of those in post renaissance France. I was surprised on how much information I learned about the Deaf Community for example, that American Sign Language relates to French Sign Language. Also I had found that 90% of Deaf people marry other Deaf people. From this test I learned some rules that apply in the Deaf world that would be totally different in the hearing world. I thought that walking through a conversation would be considered rude, but in their world it s impolite to just sit there and wait till they are done signing. Likewise their facial expression us hearing people would assume it shows emotion when really it shows grammar. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Social Play Analysis A). Play as defined in our book is an activity that is intrinsically motivated, focused on means rather than ends, different from purely exploratory behavior, nonliteral, and free from externally applies rules (Gross, 225). There are different types of play such as play with objects, social play, and pretend symbolic play. Play with objects depends on age for example a child between the age of birth to 4 months uses exploratory type of play, repetitive motor movements such kicking legs, reaching for or sucking their toes, and rolling over. Whereas a child who is between the age of 24 months and 36 months uses fine motor play which allows them to play with Play doh and put together puzzles. Social play is playing with a responsive human playmate. This could be the child s mother, father or caregiver. Pretend/symbolic play usually emerges after the first birthday, when children behave in a nonliteral way, acting as if they were performing familiar routines, such as eating, going to sleep, or washing their face (Gross, 195).... It is also interesting because as we get older we can give meaning to objects making playing more intentional. Playing also caught my attention as before reading about this topic in our book I would have never correlated pointing and naming games as mothers using it as a way to teach their child, I use to believe they would do this just to have fun with their child. I was interested in this topic as well because I never knew play was different in cultures I always believed it meant the same thing. It also interested me as when I get older and have kids of my own I will use play to teach, a process known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Life Of Prophet Muhammad Amine Lehachi Islamic History 1100 Mrs. Jorati September 20th, 2015 The Life of Prophet Muhammad The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH Peace be upon him) is the messenger of God in Islam. He was born in the city of Makkah (Mecca) in the Arabian Peninsula around 570 CE. Many historians believe he became an orphan at a very early age. The Arabian Peninsula at the time had no law or order; people were described as savages for their ill customs and traditions. People of Arabia worshipped idols and ancient Arabian religions; some were also Christian and Jewish. When it came to religion people were divided in the region, people were divided into tribes and had different sets of beliefs. Prophet Muhammad set to change this, he wanted to unify the region and establish an independent nation. Before he started his Prophecy he married an older woman, a widow named Khadijah, for whom he had worked for in the caravan trade. When he was a merchant, he was known as al Amin, the trusted one. When Prophet Muhammad was forty years old, he had a profound experience that really changed his life. In this essay I will evaluate the significant events of his career starting with The First revelation; The migration to Medina and lastly the great Battle of Badr. These significant events play an important role on how the foundation of a newly reformed monotheistic religion called Islam came to be. A significant event that really changed the course of his life was when Prophet Muhammad was 40 years old. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Abolitionist Literature in the Eighteenth Century Abolitionist literature was particularly influential during the eighteenth century because readers were provided with a more complex understanding of the concept of slavery and of the damaging effects that it had on individuals. The fact that individuals who actually experienced life as a slave from a first person perspective were actively involved in producing abolitionist literature further contributed to the intense feelings that people underwent as they were reading passages in these books. Individuals like Frederick Douglass and Harriet Beecher Stowe were among the most renowned abolitionist writers and their works played an essential role in emphasizing the wrongness of slavery. Frederick Douglass was among the people who were unfortunate enough to experience life as a slave. However, in comparison to other individuals who were mentally and physically rendered unable to fight for themselves and for their kind, he found the power to get actively involved in criticizing the institution of slavery. The fact that he had a limited understanding of the abolitionist movement at the time when he joined it did not stop him from producing one of the most thrilling accounts regarding life as a slave. Douglass was a very good orator and this was one of the most important reasons why he managed to induce strong feelings in individuals who he spoke in front of. The Bible and the crucifixion of the Messiah are an important aspect in cultures all around the world today. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ has been translated, dramatized, televised, adapted, and cartooned. In The Dream of the Rood, translated by R.M. Liuzza, the Biblical cross comes to life to tell its own version of Christ s death and resurrection. For example, most of the warriors this poem would have been told to were illiterate and may have not heard of the gospel at all. Similarly, the interest of the listeners must be kept throughout the poem. The point of the poem is to convert, but if attention is lost the poem is not effective in its primary objective. Readers today read the poem and see that Christ has been turned into such warrior that he eagerly jumped on the cross to die (introduction). The cross sees Christ as a young hero made ready that was God almighty / strong and resolute; he ascended on the high gallows, / brave in the sight of many, when he wanted to ransom mankind (38 40 emphasis mine). A warrior would not shy away from battle or war; in this case the battle was against death and sin, and the warrior is Christ. For readers today, the understanding of what happened at the crucifixion and the significance of those events according the Bible, skews the way readers view the poem. • 15. Analysis Of The Dream Of The Rood It is well known that the way a story is written has an impact on how the reader understands it. There are certain aspects of a story where the author has the ability to control how it is interpreted. The Dream of the Rood is written so that it makes it difficult for the reader to see the difference between a savior and a warrior. If a story was written simply stating the individual s goal rather than how that goal was achieved it would be easy to see them as a savior but it could be difficult to see them as a warrior. Presenting literary analysis from different sources will explain how the author portrayed the protagonists as both saviors and warriors and by comparing characteristics of both will explain why they were portrayed this way.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Dream of the Rood if Christ was presented the same way, while he would still be considered a savior, one would find it difficult to convince others to view him as warrior as well. But, because Christ is presented as a confident hero, the poet displays his willingness and selflessness to follow through with the crucifixion because he knows it is for the benefit of all mankind. In the poem, the rood, or cross, is depicted as the individual telling the story of the crucifixion. The poet writes the story so it is understood that the cross is, like Jesus, a warrior. If the cross can tell a tale it is assumed that it would possess the ability to experience feelings. By explaining the cross experience in the way the poet does it is easy to see how the cross possesses warrior like characteristics. I trembled when the man embraced me; I dared not bow down to earth, stoop to the surface of the ground, but I had to stand fast. I was reared a rood; I raised up a mighty king, the heaven s lord; I dared not bow in homage. (Dream of the Rood, 41 45) The poem explains the feelings of the cross throughout the crucifixion and after. Because the cross knows what the future holds when Christ is approaching and is able to withstand the torture and remain strong, for it knows it is fighting alongside Christ throughout the ordeal, the cross is deserving of being considered a warrior. If the cross was taken out of this story and replaced with a man ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When it comes to altering a system in a corporate setting the probability of failure, acts as prevention for adjustment or reformation to occur. Once a prosperous platform or structure is established, it is unlikely for a conglomerate to disaffiliate from those workings and follow a new path of novelty. Ways that globalization has impacted my everyday life in a positive impact would be the things I accomplish, the people I confront and the things I observe. I have encountered many things in my daily life that showed me globalization is a part of each and everyone of us. I work at Wind Mobile and can see globalization within the phones I sale daily. Each phone was made in a different country showing the internally interaction that took place. Without globalization we would have been limited and would not be able to do or learn all the things we have. At the University of Windsor globalization takes place. The knowledgewe learn in class is globalization. They take material in many countries and teach us, it is impossible to just reaile in solely in your country s information. No country have all the information, so this is why globalization is extremely important. Many professors come teach in Canada from other international countries where we allowed to learn more perspectives, as well as international students they are able to teach us their ... • 35. An Influential Psychologists Of All Times One of the most influential psychologists of all times is Burrhus Frederic Skinner, also known as B. F. Skinner, who was born on March 20, 1904 in a small town called Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. B. F. Skinner was raised in a warm and wealthy home. His father was a lawyer and his mother was a stay at home mom. In Skinner s early childhood, it was noted that he and his younger brother, Edward James, liked to build things such as arrows and shack in the woods, to name a few ( ). These construction skills would enable an older Skinner to build the equipment invented for his psychologyresearch. As he grew up, he went through all twelve grades at the same school, graduating with less than eight students. Within these years, he developed an interest in art and literature through drawing and later reading Shakespeare (Dews, 1970). In Skinner s higher education, he attended Hamilton College in New York, where he majored in English Literature to become a writer ( ). Soon after college, Skinner tried to write his first psychological novel but failed to do so because of family trouble and lack of success. After becoming discontent with his literary skills, and inspired by John B. Watson and Ivan Pavlov s Behaviorism, he obtained a degree in psychology from Harvard University in 1928. Soon after, Skinner graduated with his PhD from Harvard in 1931, which led him to the development of his influential operant behaviorism ( ). B. F. Skinners had many contributions within in his ... • 36. Diego Velazquez Research Paper Justin Mignott Dr. Raverty World Art II 09/05/2018 Word count : 765 The Metropolitan Museum of Art has works from artists known around the world for their beautiful creations. My focus was on artists from Spain, two of which were Diego VelГЎzquez and El Greco from the seventeenth century. During the seventeenth century, many Spanish painters were getting commissioned around the world to paint for monarchs. Diego Velazquez was born in Seville, Spain. During his lifetime, he had visited Italy in search of artistic inspiration. Italy, which happened to be very religious at the time, influenced Velazquez to include religion in many of his works, but those are showcased in different parts of the world, not at the Met. Diego Velazquez was commissioned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... El Greco was born in Crete, Greece, where he mastered Byzantine, and also Post Byzantine, art, which is similar to Diego Velazquez. El Greco, like Diego Velazquez, also portrays religion vastly in his paintings such as works like Opening of the Fifth Seal (1609, El Greco). In this piece he has the people portrayed in a way as if they would be calling out or reaching out to grab something or someone. The naked individuals are prosecuted martyrs are said to be crying out to god for justice upon their persecutors on Earth (Book of Revelation (6:9 11)). However, El Greco was focused mainly on mannerism, that dominated Italy all throughout the sixteenth century. He learned mannerism when he moved from Crete to Rome, and he also learned more about the Venetian Renaissance. Velazquez and his works had nothing to do with mannerism. But nonetheless, both El Greco and Diego Velazquez, due to their time spent in Italy, used Venetian colors: neutral, conservative shades of greens, reds, blues, grays and yellows. Spanish artists tended to move around a lot during their era to learn how to perfect their crafts, and Italy was a hub of their era for art. People were very critical of El Greco because of his demeanor towards God and religion. Although his works tended to be focused on religion, it was not in a very good way. He would put people on top of Christ in his paintings, which did not sit well in Italy or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Food Intake Paper 1 Day Food Intake Paper Marisa Martinez SCI/220 7 10 2012 Dr. Angela Branch 1 Day Food Intake Paper Food intake is something that everyone should take very seriously in their daily lives. Food intake is regulated by the complex interaction of psychological and physiological events associated with ingestion. While the energy content of foods has an important role in determining the amount eaten, a number of other properties of foods also may be important. These include palatability, macronutrient composition, and form of the food for example solid vs. liquid, how it is prepared, and its energy density. After reviewing my iProfile Journal it has come to my senses that my dietary intake for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The chicken soup that I consumed was the only meal that consumed the recommended number of servings that any healthy meal should. In the future I think that I will begin to eat better foods that contain vitamins, minerals, nutrients, DRI s and unsaturated fats so that my body can consume the right amount of recommended number of servings for each meal group. My diet did not provide an adequate variety of foods because I could have chosen to eat healthier instead of eating fast food. According to the food pyramid in the iProfile I did not fulfill all of my goals that the food pyramid suggested me to do. I believe that in the future to fulfill pyramid goals I will increase vegetable and fruit intake, eat a variety of vegetables, especially more green, red, orange vegetables. I will also try to increase my intake of fat free milk or low fat milk products, such as yogurts, cheese and beans. After comparing my diet to Kelley Watson s diet I believe that even though my diet was not healthy Kelly Watson s diet was a lot worse than mine. The reason I state this is because she hardly consumed any of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that a person s diet should consume. In my opinion, I think that my diet would have to be the healthier one because in my diet there were vegetables, minerals and a small amount of nutrients that the body must have in a daily live. Even though both diets were not healthy like they should have been, my diet is the one that provides the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Effects Of Hormones And Antibiotics On Animals And Humans The Effects of Consuming Hormones and Antibiotics to Animals and Humans Not everyone knows what they are eating on a daily basis. Some believe what they read from the label on a package. While another will go with what a commercial that they heard on the television said. The truth of the matter is that you can not go around believing everything that someone has said. The only way that you can be certain as to what you are eating is if you actually know what has gone into the process of preparing that meal. There are many ways that someone can protect themselves and their family from getting these possibly life threatening illnesses that could harm not just your life, but also a future child that could possibly be consumed later on down the road. Throughout the past couple decades, researches have discovered the causes of consuming of hormones and antibiotics in both animals and humans. Nine out of ten calves in the United States are given hormonal growth stimulators. Some of the reasons why farmers would give their animals hormone growth stimulators and antibiotics would be so the animals would grow faster than they normally would. Since the animals are growing faster, the farmers are making more money. The way that they are making more than what they would be without using hormones and antibiotics is because the animals tend to eat more the longer they are alive. If the animals are getting a boost in their growing process, they will not be consuming as much food, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Claudius s Craziness In Hamlet As Hamlet might seem like one to be thoughtful of his actions, he changes as he suddenly acts crazy. This craziness is used as a cover for a plan to kill Claudius. It is almost as if this sudden change in character causes Hamlet to garner the true characteristics of his craziness. He thinks on his feet as he contemplates, Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift/ As meditation or the thoughts of love/ May sweep to my revenge (I.vi.35 37). Speaking to the ghostof old Hamlet, he suddenly pushes his plan in response to the news of his father s murder. He reacts quickly without ambition to conquer his motive. This evolving character proves to be hostile towards others as this revenge is no longer a train of thought, but instead, an action... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With uncertainty of trusting the ghost, while pretending to be crazy, he organizes a play, wherein I ll catch the conscious of the king (II.ii.634). Although it might seem like Hamlet inherits philosophical aspects, it is the fear that is holding him back. He procrastinates the murder of the king, as he apprehends facing death. This theme is further repeated when he says, Now might I do it pat. Now he is a praying. / And now I ll do t. And so he goes to heaven. / And so am I revenged. That would be scanned. / A villain kills my father, and, for that, / I, his sole son, do this same villain send / To heaven. / Oh, this is hire and salary, not revenge (III.iii.77 84). Hamlet begins to overthink his objective by postponing the murder. This waiting represents the fear Hamlet contains. His conscience does not allow him to follow through with the murder. These characters resemble correlative traits when Claudius ordered Hamlet to be sent to England with fear and trepidation, To bear all smooth and even, / This sudden sending him away must seem / Deliberate pause. Diseases desperate grown / By desperate appliance are relieved, / Or not at all, (IV.iii.7 11) foreseeing danger if he stayed around. • 40. Why US Consumers Buy Foreign Goods For the first time in many years, ordinary people in the US are worrying about the economic future of the country. The underlying reason for this worry is a realization that the secret perpetual motion engine of the economy has run short of what you might call fuel , for want of a better word. Here are the key steps in this critical cycle in the economic life of the nation: 1. US consumers buy foreign goods 2. Part of the profit from these sales is invested in additional foreign goods to be sold to US consumers and the remainder is invested in US financial institutions 3. The financial institutions lend the dollars to US consumers 4. US consumers buy foreign goods (that is, we return to step 1) This is a positive feedback loop. If... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, they are extremely controversial. People tend to have extremely strong opinions about credit cards. On one side, we have those who vehemently criticize credit cards as the modern evil that has brought financial ruin to so many Americans. At the other extreme, we have those who see credit cards necessary instruments for establishing and improving one s credit history and for learning financial restraint ( Credit cards, n.d.). So, which side is correct? Do credit cards spell financial doom or are they a useful and valuable tool in our society today? In order for us to honestly answer these questions, we must fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of credit cards. First, think about some of the possible advantages of having credit cards. The first thing that comes to my mind is convenience. Credit cards are so tiny that they can easily fit in your pocket. Also, most places readily take credit cards these days. And we cannot forget that credit cards can minimize our need to count money at the cash register or to wait to buy that must have product until we get our next paycheck. Therefore, it is accurate to say that credit cards are relatively convenient to carry and use ( Credit cards, n.d., Pros section). Moreover, credit cards are accepted in quite a number of foreign nations, making traveling or online purchases a whole lot simpler. Credit cards also give you much more peace ...
