1.What is the definition of Eugenics based on a video clip of Edwin Black?
According to Edwin Black, eugenics is the effort to create a white, blue eyed, blond haired,
Nordic master race in the United States, and wipe away the existence of everyone who did not fit
that ideal . Black goes further by explaining the implementation of this ideal, saying Now who did
they want to wipe away? They wanted to wipe away Mexicans, Italians. They wanted to wipe
away the Asians the Jews, those who they believed were feeble minded, the Deaf, the poor.
The Oxford University Press defines eugenics as the science of improving a human population by
controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics with a further
and rather illuminating explanation which states, Developed largely by Francis Galton as a method
of improving the human race, it fell into disfavor only after the perversion of its doctrines by the
Nazis .
2.What did you learn exactly from Edwin Black that you may have not learned in American
History?
If I had been asked when eugenics began in practice, I would likely have pointed at Nazi era
Europe prior to seeing Edwin Black s presentation. However, at the conclusion of his speech I
found myself shaken by the fact that eugenics was in practice in California before and during Nazi
power. I had thought of California as, in the past, a brave frontier, and at present, a shining beacon of

A Story About A Love Story
The typical love story would start with the sun blaring down; rays of sunlight finding their way
through the green leaves with heat prickling his skins like hot needles. It was to be expected, it
was summer after all. The wooden bench was warm under his touch, and he was thankful that it
wasn t made from iron or else, he couldn t sit there and wait. It was already near the end of
August yet the summer heat seemed to be lingering longer than usual. Sweats started dripping
down his back and the thin tank top he was wearing was starting to stick to his skin, making the
lad groaned in discomfort. He was never made for hot weather like these but then again he was
neither made for the cold as well. So the only thing he could do was sighing at the misfortune of
his body s toleration with the temperature of his surroundings. He was about to pull out his
phone to check the time for the nth time when a sudden hand gripped his shoulder, jolting him
in the surprise. A low chuckle left from the lips of the intruder and he could feel the butterflies
in his stomach flutter about. Frowning, he turned to his head to the other. You re late! Tyler
whined, pout replacing the former frown. The Black haired laughed, plopping down on the
empty space beside the smaller lad. I m sorry, the lecturer held us back for a bit to discuss an
assignment. His hand reached into his pocket and pull out a chocolate bar, dangling it in front of
Tyler s face. Take it and wipe that ugly look on your face. You

To His Coy Mistress
To His Coy Mistress Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress is a sieze the moment kind of poem
in which an anonomyous young man tries to woo the hand of his mistress. This kind of poem
gives the reader the idea that time is not only precious, but scarce. The speaker uses many smooth
tatics to persuade the young girl, starting with compliments and ending with a more forceful,
morbid appraoch. To His Coy Mistress is not only witty but imgagistic, full of wordplay, and
percieved differently by both males and females. Andrew Marvellwas born March 31st, 1621 in
yorkshire, England. Becasue he was the son of an Anglican preist, Marvell grew up in an
extremely Godly Home. He got his prmary education at Hull Grammar school. At only the age of...

By saying Of Humber would complain. I would/ love you ten years before the flood, ( Andrew
Marvell 276) he is letting his mistress know that he adores her. Starting out it seems like the
speaker is the only one in love, but by the end of the poem it is clear that she is equally as
passionate as he. Finally there is beauty. The speaker seduces her by validating her conciet. He
describes ever way she is beautiful in detail. This poem is disguised as a syllogism, a three part
argument with a final concusion. It is concluded that the speakers overall reasoning is illogical.
Although, Marvell s poem is described as sophisticated, evocative, and emotionally moving, (
Andrew Marvell 280) Recent criticisms say that a female reader could read this poem and look at
it different than a male. The reader, as a female, may percieve it as crude and vulgur. It could be
seens as smutt. Where as a male would see it as a smooth, masculine approach to woo a woman.
In the beginning of the poem, the female reader could identify the tone of the passage as
passionate, but later goes into a more forceful tone. A man reading the poem would pick up a
more masculine appeal to love (Kelly 283). Some believe that the text of the poem is aimed to
attempt the reader, particularly the male population, in a different way to seduce a woman.
(Pittock) The second criticism found was about imagery. Marvell s poem is seen differently by
every person. Poets use imagery so one

Essay on Samsung Electronics
Samsung Electronics 1. Introduction: With the introduction of new Chinese competitors in the
DRAM market it is necessary for Samung to access their strategy for the future. Looking at past
trends in the DRAM market, current market situation, and projections for the Flash market, the best
option for Samsung is to focus their efforts on growing the Flash technology, while maintaining
their DRAM output. This is the best course of action because Samsung s customer loyalty will
carry their market share in the DRAM market, while they are focusing on establishing this type of
dominance in the Flash market. 2. Problem Statement: Memory industry is... Show more content on

In the next section we will analyze the level of competition within memory industry based on
Porter s model, Samsung s competitive advantage and its sustainability considering the current
market situation. 3. Analysis: Considering Porter s model as a framework to analyze the level of
competition within DRAM memory business, the threat of new entrant is high compared to the
threat of substitutes and established rivals in horizontal competition. If we look at rivalry
within the DRAM industry between established players, Samsung has a clear advantage over its
competitors. Samsung is the market leader in DRAM memory business. It has a wide range of
products and its products has a higher brand value. Threat of new entrants is high as Chinese
competitors have easier access to large pool of local engineering talent and have a growing
market for these DRAM chips. The government is also providing all sorts of assistance, like
subsidized land, for the initial setup. Samsung has several options to deter the entry of new
Chinese competitors. One option Samsung have is to continue to explore and increase market
shares of flash memory markets which is a new and growing market. Samsung can also take
advantage by lowering the price of DRAM chips. This would force a price war and drive new

Black Dynamite
Black Dynamite Movie and its Camp aspects
The Movie Black Dynamite, released in 2009, is an action comedy film and a parody of the 1970
s blaxploitation genre. The film is mainly about a character, named Black Dynamite, a former CIA
agent, who spends the majority of his free time policing inner city streets, and protecting prostitutes
from their abusive pimps. When mysterious forces kill his brother, Black Dynamite roars back into
action, battling evildoers on an epic quest that takes him from the mean streets of L.A. to Kung Fu
Island to expose a conspiracy whose tentacles reach the highest levels of American power.
(A.O.Scott). The action, mainly by Black Dynamite, is involved in a fair amount of unreliable

The Black Dynamite film is full of frivols and exaggerated scene from the crack addicted orphan
children begging for a fix to a limitless supply of flamboyance. The acting is stiff, the dialogue
painfully self conscious, action sequences choreographed, and edited to look as cartoonish as
possible (Scott). Black Dynamite is always referred to by his full name. He is unbeatable with
exaggerated masculine, fighting ability, chevron mustache, and a vigilante. The actor cream corn
female impersonation, high hill, doing nail, for mocking purpose; and the decorative style of drug
dealers, prostitutes and Black Dynamite himself are all considered to be camp aesthetics. The
Main character seriousness, but failure to achieve that seriousness in the eyes of the beholder and
all the above points contributed for this film to be viewed as campy. Above all, Camp taste is,
above all, a mode of enjoyment, of appreciation, not judgement. Camp is generous. It wants to

The Good Earth O-Lan Quotes
In Pearl S. Buck s novel, The Good Earth, the protagonist, Wang Lung, starts out as a very poor
farmer in China. He marries a slave named O lan and starts a family with her. Famine soon strikes
the town and there is no food to be found anywhere. Wang Lung moves his family South in hopes
of finding a job there. Eventually, a group of poor people raid the homes of the rich. Wang Lung
and O lanboth join in, getting away with enough gold and valuables to get back to their land in the
North. Wang Lung uses this stolen money to buy more land and hire laborers. He quickly becomes
one of the richest men in his town. Wang Lung, however, does not know that with great wealth
comes great responsibility. His wealth corrupts him and his moral judgements become blurred.

When talking to O lan, Wang Lung implies that she is ugly. He exclaims, Now anyone looking
at you would say you were the wife of a common fellow and never of one who has land which he
hires men to plow! (pg.168) This statement is clearly disrespectful to O lan and it likely stems
from Wang Lung s wealth. Wang Lung then cheats on O lan with another woman (Lotus) from
the tea shop. The narrator says, Every day he went to the tea shop; every evening he waited until
she would receive him, and every night he went into her (pg.181). This suggests that Wang Lung
now prefers another woman over O lan. As if he hadn t done enough damage already, Wang
Lung brings Lotus into his house to stay there permanently. He says, Tell [Lotus] she shall do no
work of any kind in my house but she shall wear only silken garments and eat shark s fins every
day (pg.192). This is very disrespectful to O lan not only due to the fact that she is his wife, but
also because while she is doing housework, Lotus is being treated like a royal guest. It is evinced
that Wang Lung s wealth causes him to disrespect

A Mass Of Thousands Of People Walk Into The Capital City...
A mass of thousands of people walk into the capital city of Budapest. It is October 23, 1956, a
day that would forever be remembered by Hungarians as the day the Revolution began. This protest
quickly turned into a major rebellion against the Soviets and their policies. Although the Revolution
ended in failure, however, it left a mark on the Soviets, who would eventually lose control nearing
the end of the Cold War. Then, over 30 years after the Revolution, on October 23, 1989, Hungary
was declared as the Third Hungarian Republic. In Hungary today, October 23 is celebrated
nationally as Republic Day, to celebrate the two events that made Hungary what it is today. On
October 23 in Hungary today, there are many events to celebrate Republic Day. The raising of the
flag in Kossuth Square initiates the celebrations nationwide. A memorial ceremony is held with
speeches regarding the events celebrated. Most museums have free admission to see Hungary s
history. The Parliament building is open to the public, and the Grand Staircase, Cupola Hall, and
Holy Crown are able to be seen inside. These activities are held within Hungary, as it is their
national holiday. Before standing as an independent nation, Hungary was a dual monarchy with
Austria. Austria Hungary was the empire that declared war on Serbia, and the conflict soon grew

In the beginning of our great history of Texas Southern University, I ve come to learn that Texas

African Americans the opportunity to receive a college education. The college progressed and
improved so much that it became a member of the Association of Colleges and the Southern
Association of Colleges, which is all about the improvement of education in the South through

method, an excel spreadsheet has been created. This report explains how this spreadsheet is
created, how the spreadsheet works and also the benefits of this spreadsheet. 1 Business Issues As
instructed by AID an information system is needed to assist staff to carry out calculations and
produce reports. However, there were some issues to be considered during planning. Issues to be
considered include cost to build the school, advertising cost, government support and loans. 1.1

includes the cost for the teachers and also the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After obtaining the total cost of each construction for the respective schools to be built, the system
also allows the user to obtain the amount of government support that AID can get and also provide
the shortfall of fund that is needed that could be obtain as a loan from the bank. In order to ensure
data are input correctly, the project supervisor will be in charge of keying the data into the system
and the information will be verified by the project manager. Once data has been entered and
verified, the management of the developer would then be able to view all the relevant cost for the
campaign, the amount of government support obtainable and also the loan period or monthly
repayment amount. 3 AID Spreadsheet Report 3 Benefits of Implementing the System With this
system, AID will be able to compute and obtain the total cost to be incurred for every planned
project; this will help AID with their financial planning and provide clear and detailed cost
information for more efficient budgeting of cost. In addition, this system will reduce the time spent
by project team on calculating the cost of the project manually and at the same time ensure data
accuracy as the computations are perform automatically by the system thus reducing human
computation error. With the system implemented, only the project supervisor is required to input
the data into the system, as

Mr Van Daan Essay
My representation of Mr. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank (play version) was somewhat
accurate, and somewhat not. Research shows that Mr. Van Daan was optimistic and kept a
sense of humor, while in the play, they portrayed Mr. Van Daan as a grumpy, greedy old man
who was always putting people down, only cared for himself, and didn t get along with Anne.
Mr. Van Daan, whose real name is Herman Van Pels, was born in March 31, 1898, born in
Gehrde near Germany. On December 5, 1925, he marries Auguste Röttgen, called Mrs. Van
Daan in the play. One year later, on November 8th 1926, their son Peter Van Pels was born. Mr.

Van Daan was always in a bad mood when having no cigarettes, but based on history, Mr. Van
Daan tried to stay optimistic, gave advice, had a sense of humor, and always did what s best for
all of them. One example of Mr. Van Daan doing what s best for everyone and trying to protect
everyone is during a scary situation when burglars were robbing the building which the Secret
Annex was located. According to Anne s diary, Without thinking, Mr. van Daan yelled Police!
Hurried footsteps outside; the burglars had fled. The board was put back in the door so the
police wouldn t notice the gap, but then a swift kick from outside sent it flying to the floor
(Frank). This diary entry shows that instead of hiding and trying and letting Otto Frank attempt
to protect them like the play displays, he is brave and tries to scare the burglars away. The play
exaggerates how selfish Mr. Van Daan is, if he was at all. The play probably exaggerates Mr. Van
Daan s selfishness to create drama in the Annex, making the play more enjoyable. Furthermore,
while Mr. Van Daan was portrayed incorrectly for being selfish, he was portrayed correctly for not
getting along with Anne in the play, as the diary has many entries about their

A Midwife’s Tale by Martha Ballard Essay
When Thomas Jefferson wrote the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, it
became one of his greatest legacies. In the first line he wrote, We hold these truths to be self
evident, that all men are created equal (U.S. Constitution, paragraph 2). Jefferson wrote these
words to give inspiration to future generations in the hopes that they would be able to change what
he either would or could not. The word men in the Declaration in the early 1700 and 1800 s meant
exactly that, but even then it only was true for some men, not all. Women, children, and other
segments of the population such as slaves and Native Americans were clearly not included.

The Odyssey
The Odyssey
In Homer s epic, The Odyssey, each culture treats strangers and guests with distinct differences
from every other culture. One of the most hospitable cultures was that of the ancient Greeks,
exemplified in Homer s The Odyssey by both gracious hosts and guests. In Greece and The Odyssey
, not only was good hospitality etiquette expected, but the added pressure that if they didn t treat
their guests with respect the gods would punish them further compelled excellent manners. The
Odyssey illustrates the proper etiquette when dealing with guests. In Homer s ancient Greece their

strangers. As a guest, Odysseus is very selfish and inconsiderate towards his hosts. Throughout the
duration of Odysseus absence, the suitors are treated well, and in response to this, they refuse to
leave when asked. The suitors are fed and housed, and after a number of years they overstay their
welcome. In response to this Telemachus, prompted by Athena, informs the suitors that his
father is returning home and they are all to vacate Odysseus home. The suitors, in turn, ignore
him and continue to eat drink and be merry, at the cost of Telemachus and Penelope s household.
What are the consequences of these actions taken by the suitors? Although the primary
consequence is their death, they also lose the hand of Penelope. None of them are able to pass
the test of stringing the bow of Odysseus except Odysseus himself. This is followed by the main
consequence of the suitors execution at the hands of Odysseus and Telemachus. By not
respecting the hospitality given by Penelope, they set the stage for their own deaths. This is
quite possibly a reference to the fact that they saw hospitality as a way to honor the gods; giving
hospitality to a stranger was the same as offering it to a god. Zeus being the god of hospitality,
one of the primary ways to worship this aspect of Zeus godliness was to be hospitable to strangers
and travelers. A

three sizes stronger than for sign transmission. That has any kind of effect in impedance and in

RFID labels contain no less than two sections: an incorporated circuit for putting away and
preparing data, adjusting and demodulating a radio frequency (RF) sign, gathering DC power from
the episode peruse sign, and other particular capacities; and a reception apparatus for accepting and
transmitting the sign. The label data is put away in a non unpredictable memory. The RFID tag
incorporates either a chip wired rationale or a modified or programmable information processor for
transforming the transmission and sensor information, separately.
A RFID peruse transmits an encoded radio sign to cross examine the tag. The RFID tag gets the

Why Voting Is Important For Public Policy
Voting is very essential and one of the easiest methods to influence public policy. You just need
to be registered, and go to a polling station. It is simple because the government encourages
people to vote, to hear a broad range of opinions. It is a form of direct democracy because when
you vote, it directly affects the side or issue you support. Your vote is one more supporting
opinion for a candidate or issue that is counted. Some people may think that their vote won t
make a big difference, but if you look at it from another perspective it can impact smaller and
local issues. Although voting is imperative because you are given this privilege at the age of 18, it
is not the end of one s ability to influence government, but rather the beginning. Public policyis a
system of laws that the government created for the citizens in order to maintain order. Public
policy should be fair for all the citizens, however, on many occasions it is hard to accommodate
for all races and social classes such as lower, middle, and upper class. An example of an effective
method to utilize that influences public policy is civil disobedience. Let s use the policy that
imposed high taxation on tobaccoand alcohol to demonstrate one s ability to impact the
government. First and foremost the policy is beneficial for the government because it generates
revenue that is earned from the products, however the consequence is that it encourages illegal
activity. There

Summary Of Ballad Of Birmingham By Dudley Randall
The folk classic Ballad of Birmingham by Dudley Randall is a poem that speaks up about a
tragedy using simple rhymes and lyrics. It s clear that the ballad uses the Civil Rights Movement
and the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing as its historical context. The Civil Rights Movement
was a mass movement aimed to secure equal rights for African Americans. In the poem, the
daughter asked her mother if she could march the streets of Birmingham / To make our country
free, which references The Birmingham Campaign, also known as the Civil Rights Movement s
Project C, that included Freedom Marches (*). The mother refuses her daughter s request, saying
that the dogs are fierce and wild, / And clubs and hoses, guns and jails, as Project C was in

Awakening Essay
When Kate Chopin s The Awakening was published at the end of the 19th Century, many
reviewers took issue with what they perceived to be the author s defiance of Victorian proprieties,
but it is this very defiance with which has been responsible for the revival in the interest of the
novel today. This factor is borne out by Chopin s own words throughout her Prefacewhere she
indicates that women were not recipients of equal treatment. (Chopin, Preface ) Edna takes her own
lifeat the book s end, not because of remorseover having committed adultery but because she can
no longer struggle against the social conventions which deny her fulfillment as a person and as a

When Edna finally resolved to end her life it is not because she has been rejected by Robert but
because she can no longer lead the type authentic life which to her is the only life worth living, and
this is the result of the denial of equal rights to women by the society of that day.
Chopin has clearly taken care to anticipate criticisms that her suicide would leave the children
motherless by having her recently visit the children to find that they really had no need of her
and are perfectly content with the grandmother. In having Edna reflect that she would never
sacrifice herself for her children, Chopin was not arguing so much in defense of selfish ness as
against the view that a mother could be expected to deny her own freedom for the sake the
children in a manner that was not expected of the father. Thus, women s struggle is synonymous
with Edna s suicide as well as the events leading up to it. Edna plays a significant role in this story.
Overall, I personally construed K.
Chopin s novel as a repudiation of prevailing mores which govern women s behavior during that
period in time. Edna was an outsider. She did not comprehend that the personal freedoms she saw
all about her were well defined within a construct of old established social conventions,

I.INTRODUCTION
DNS is a protocol with some protocols for computers in exchanging data over the Internet. The
process is to turn a website like google.com into an machine readable address like 8.8.8.8 and
8.8.4.4 for IPv4 that computers use for identification on the network. In fact Google Public DNS
is largest DNS service in the world which handles more than 400 billion requests a day. All the
computers or hosts on the internet use IP Address to establish a connection with site they are
need. With the DNS service, we don t need to remember the whole bunch of numbers stacked at
each decimal point. We just use a DNS server and appropriate name servers and access the sites
with specific names. And this DNS server manages a massive database which maps the domain
names to those IP Addresses.
On a short note, DNS server search for the domain name as per the User Request. This process is
named as DNS name Resolution and this means DNS servers converts the domain name to IP
address. As mentioned earlier, google.com has IP address of 8.8.8.8 which you enter directly into
browser will give you the Google s page. Web site s IP addresses are dynamic and some sites use
many IP s with only one Domain name.Without DNS servers, Internet access would be a lot tougher.
II.DETAILED WORKING OF DNS:
When you are trying to access a domain, the hose

Themes Of Multiculturalism In Two Nation
Multiculturalism that promotes maintaining the distinctiveness of multiple cultures is often

Supernatural figures are defined as: events or things that cannot be explained by nature or

Employee Relations in the New British Economy
Employee Relations in the New British Economy Great Britain is currently recovering from one
of the worst economic periods since the 1930s. Everyone is feeling the pinch. As companies try to
compete in this new economic environment, and the government tries to reduce national debt,
many industries are finding themselves in situations where they must find ways to improve
employee relations on an industry wide basis. In the past, employee relations formed an
important part of the competitive advantage for individual firms. After falling out of favor for
some time, trade unions are now becoming more popular as a way of bolstering entire sectors of
the economy or industries. This research will explore the role of employee relations in both unitary

Gender Inequality And Ethnic Inequality
Introduction
To begin with, it might be necessary to define the terms of Gender inequality and ethnic inequality
in employment. While gender disadvantage refers to the prejudicial treatment of an individual or
group based solely on issues of gender (Robert, 2008); ethnic inequality indicates the unfair
distribution of opportunities and resources between the majority white and black and minority
ethnic groups in the labour market. The two issues have been rooted in the job market for long,
and despite recent progress of improvement, the issues remain and probably have evolved into
more covert and complex forms. In the following context, the two kinds of disadvantages will
firstly be introduced respectively, together with reasons behind the scene; yet, acknowledge the
relevance of gender differences to ethnic inequality, the explanations given for BME group s
predicament will be aware of the overlaps between gender and ethnicity issues; a brief conclusion
will also be provided in the final part, however, given the complexity of the picture, for example,
the extent to which women and men from different ethnic groups experience disadvantages varies
(Vittachi, 2011), it is hard to generalise and any predictions about future prospect may not be
realized.

Childhood Obesity And Its Effects On The United States Today
Introduction With the recently documented increases in prevalence s dating as late back as to
1980, pediatric obesity now represents one of the most pressing nutritional problems facing
children in the United States today. International population studies report comparable rates of
increase, so that if current trends remain unchecked, childhood obesity is likely to challenge
worldwide public health. Substantial consequences to physical and mental health, both short and
long term, must be anticipated. Unfortunately, there is no uniform definition of childhood
obesity. Childhood obesity has been variously described by absolute weight , triceps skinfolds ,
weight for height percentiles, percent of ideal body weight and, most recently, by body mass
index (BMI weight in kg=height in meters squared). Although these measures reflect slightly
different aspects of body composition or body size, they are moderately well correlated with
body fat, even in growing children. In addition to the lack of consistency in the anthropometric
measure , the degree of obesity varies from study to study; however, for the majority of studies, a
BMI greater than either the 85th or 95th percentile, or a weight for height greater than 120% of
ideal was considered obese. Although for most children, complications of childhood obesity do not
become apparent for decades, the metabolic consequences of obesity may be already evident in
young children. Even a young child, if severely obese, can suffer serious

Implication For Occupational Therapy ( 2014 )
Implication for Occupational Therapy According to Ridner et al. (2014), lymphedema is a chronic
condition that causes permanent damage to the lymphatic system. It is incurable, but can be
effectively managed by comprehensive complete decongestive therapy with the goal of decreasing
the limb volume to normal or near normal (Lawenda, Mondry, Johnstone, 2009; Ridner et al., 2014;
Rockson, 2016). According to (Lawenda, Mondry, Johnstone, 2009), the lack of effective early
lymphedema management results in increased swelling, fibrotic skin changes, pain, paresthesia,
and infections. Moreover, Lawenda et al. (2009) stated that early intervention decreases the
progression of the disease. Therefore, it is critical to provide early lymphedema intervention to help
to promote quality of life, and decrease functional disability, psychosocial deficits, and
complications that may be life threatening among the clients who are impacted by lymphedema
(Lawenda et al., 2009). Lymphedema is treated by a lymphedema specialist with physician orders to
evaluate and treat lymphedema (Rockson, 2016). Complete decongestive therapy is composed of
manual lymphatic drainage, three layer short stretch medical bandages, immaculate skin care, and
client education on self management techniques (Ridner et al., 2014). The lymphedema
intervention has two phases. Phase I involves limb volume reduction by certified lymphedema
therapists. Phase II involves self management using CDT interventions, which

India and Pakistan are So Close and Yet So Far from Each...
Why is it that despite sharing so much in terms of ethnicity, culture, religion, and language, India
and Pakistan hold such animosity and bitterness towards each other? Since their emergence as
independent states from the British Indian Empire in 1947, India and Pakistan have sacrificed
considerable blood battling each other. As part of the independence, India was divided into two
separate nations India and Pakistan. The Hindu states of British India formed the new country of
India, while those states with a Muslim majority became part of Pakistan. The violent partition of
Indiaand Pakistan resulted in large scale armed confrontations and has sustained a continuous
distrust between the two countries. They have been involved in four wars; the first immediately
following independence over the state of Jammu and Kashmir, another in 1965 over the same state,
a civil war in 1971 that stemmed into the creation of Bangladesh and the Kargil war of 1999 fought
in Kashmir. The hostility that remains even fifty five years later instigates questions in our minds
as to what lies in the future of the relationship between these two Asian countries. Is there hope for
peace in the near future? Is the antagonistic behavior between the two nations reflective of the
attitudes of their respective citizens? How has this bitterness affected the recent and current
generations of Indians and Pakistanis? And will this continue to affect the future generations?

Analysis Of The Peace Of Wild Things By Wetndell Berry
The Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Berry is a level three poem of Difficulty. The Peace of
Wild Things by Wendell Berry with its not uncommon language and diction would be a score of

However there are some uncommon words that might prevent the reader from understanding the
meaning fully. For example, words used that might do that are despair, least sound, and wood

of the next line would be confusing. If the reader didn t know what despair meant, it would make it

When all the stresses of life hit us at one time, we all need a place of quiet to release the stresses.
The theme would be a level 3 because not difficult to find and pick out, but because of the
phrasing the message isn t obvious right away. For example, when the character is talking anout
coming into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. it could
be confusing because the reader would not understand who the wild things are. This could throw
off the theme of peace and nature because the audience might not understand that part of the
charcters peace is being in nature with the wild things . The subject matter, very similar to
theme would be ranked a three also. The author is giving such a broad topic of the wild things ,
and how gives them peace and grace with the world, can be hard to understand the subject in the

matter is not any higher then a three because you can get this subject from phrases like, presence
of still water or grace of the world . Finally, the relatableness of The Peace of Wild Things is score

Ballistics In The Field Of Criminal Justice
What are the different types of ballistics that we study in the field of criminal justice? We study
three main types they are: internal, external, and terminal ballistics. Internal ballistics is the interior
workings of a weapon and the functioning of its ammunition. External ballistics is the study of the
flight of the bullet from the mussel of the gun to the target. Terminal ballisticsis what happens to the
bullet once it hits the target. We will take a closer look at each one of these throughout this paper.
Internal Ballistics Internal ballistics is the study of what occurs within the barrel of a firearm from
the exact moment when the firing pin hits the primer to the time that the bullet exists out of the
barrel of the firearm. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this can be broke down into two categories penetration ballistics, which is the capability
of missile to penetrate through materials. Wound ballistics which is the effect the missile has on
living tissue. Penetration potential is the penetration through different materials and is an
influential factor in shooting incidents. One of the most standard tests to the penetration levels
was pine boards of various thicknesses, which is often plagued with inaccuracies. In general
wound ballistics, which is the capability of a bullet to strike through a human being. The first of
these is where a bullet drills its way through the body leaving a small entry and an equally small
exit hole. The second is when bullet leaves a small entry hole and an enormous exit hole. The third
is when the victim is shot by something other than a rifle, and the impact is enough to throw the
person through the air. After leaving the barrel of the firearm there are three main factors that make
for unstable condition, which are: yaw is the angle between longitudinal axis of a projectile and its
line of flight as it exists before the bullet is stable. Precession is the rotational effect of the bullet
about its mid axis. Nutation is the constant corkscrew motion of the bullet. To stimulate body tissue
they use ballistic gelatin. So that the forensics team can demonstrate or recreate the crime scene in

GKE1 Task 3 Essay
After Columbus mistakenly discovered the Americas in 1492, European countries were soon
setting out to establish themselves in this new world. Spain was first to establish itself in the new
world, using their powerful military and their navy. The new colonies were completely dictated
by the king of Spain, such one of his policies allowing colonists to use the native tribes for forced
labor. France was the second major power to establish itself. Their main focus was fur trapping and
fur trading. The French quickly learned to work with the Native Americans. The few French
settlers, who did come to America, were focused on fur trapping and trading. Because of this, most
French settlements were either military forts or trading posts. England... Show more content on

In 1763, the Kingdom of Great Britain had just become victorious over France in the French and
Indian War. This victory had come at a great cost, severely straining Britain s economy and banks.
Britain felt that the American Colonists should have to pay some on its debts since most of the
war was fought to protect the colonists. Britain soon began passing new taxes such as the Stamp
Act of 1765. Colonist thought that it was unfair that they were being taxed since they were not
allowed representation in British Parliament. For the following ten years, colonists began to
realize that they wanted complete independence from Britain. They issued the Declaration of
Independence in July of 1776 declaring themselves independent of Britain. The Colonies were
now at full scale war with the mother country of Britain. America did not have grand army like
Britain in the beginning and would often employ guerrilla tactics. These tactics often involved
ambushing the British soldiers, and then quickly retreating to safety before the British soldiers
could inflict too many casualties. Eventually America s army would grow and train. They would
be able to stand toe to toe with Britain, which was considered to have the strongest army in the
world at the time. In October of 1781, Britain would surrender after losing the siege of Yorktown.
By 1783, Britain and the American Colonies would sign the Treaty of Paris, ending the American
Revolution and recognizing America as a country on

The Western Frontier Is An Important Part Of American Society
The Western Frontier is an important part of American society that captures the archetypal
curiosity that ever American has in search of new opportunities. Frederick Jackson Turner s
essay titled, The Significance of the Frontier in American History explains the relevance of
westward expansion in the late nineteenth century. Turner describes the western frontier as the
meeting point between savagery and civilization because once one crosses the boundary from
the East to the West; the laws of civilization no longer apply. The West is characterized by its
lawlessness and violence as the settlers struggle to stake their claim on the rough terrain
(Turner). Two western classics that are complete polar opposites Willa Cather s My Antonia and
Cormac McCarthy s Blood Meridian both depict the civilized but also the savage aspects of the
western frontier. The difficult and ever changing geography of the American West shapes each
character in both stories, since the American West is a harsh and tedious environment, it allows
Darwin s principle of survival of the fittest to be tested. In My Antonia, the protagonist, Antonia, is
shown to the reader through the memory of Jim Burden as his childhood sweetheart. Antonia
represents the captivating and peaceful beauty of the western prairie even as it endures harsh
conditions. On the other hand, Blood Meridian portrays a horribly savage image of the West,
where one is in a dog eat dog world and must choose to kill or be killed. McCarthy

There are different ways of determining what О» should be and I will cover how to obtain such
values by using the error terms of the sequence |x_k x^* | and |x_(k+1) x^* | which can be denoted
e_k and
гЂ– eгЂ—_(k+1) respectively.
By comparing different methods and using them on the same problems we will be able to find
out if and where different methods will be suited to different functions. In some instances one
method may not work because it is may not be able to find a descending path to follow hence
unable to find a minimizer, or possibly one method may take and ascending path firstly so it
could descend. By the end of this research I will be able to recognise such conditions and
restraints when applying a method to a function problem, as well as being able to use a correct
method of optimization and picking one with a high order of convergence to obtain a minimizer as
quickly as possible.
Due to there being multiple dimensions I will also look at when there is only one dimension to
worry about, these methods will include the Secant, Bisection and Fibonacci Methods, by looking
at these I can show my opinion on what would be the best type of method if the function problem
was in only one dimension, as perhaps a method which can be used for n dimensions may have
unnecessary work for a problem with a single dimension, I will do multiple comparisons between
the one dimension methods and then with methods that are used for multiple dimensions,

Heroin Addiction Paper
Heroin is a highly addictive illegal drug, derived from morphine and used by millions of users
around the world. It is a naturally occurring opiate found in opium poppies and is primarily grown
in Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Mexico, and Columbia (National, 2015), but has been illegal in
the United States since the early 1900 s. In its purest form, heroinis a fine white powder, but more
often, it is found to be rose gray, brown or black in color (Foundation, 2016). The coloring comes
from additives which have been used to dilute it (Foundation, 2016). These dilutes can include
sugar, caffeine or other substances (Foundation, 2016). In medicine, diamorphine, the main product
found in heroin, is used to treat sever pain, such as from a heart... Show more content on

The most common effects of heroin addiction include liver disease, skin disease, clouded mental
functions, collapsed/scarred veins, blood clots, stroke, respiratory depression, seizures (Delta,
2016). When people inject heroin, they are at risk of serious, long term viral infections such as
HIV, Hepatitis C, and Hepatitis B, as well as bacterial infections of the skin, bloodstream, and
heart (Centers for Disease and Control, 2015). Street heroin is sometimes cut with strychnine or
other poisons (Foundation, 2016). The various additives do not fully dissolve, and when they
are injected into the body, can clog the blood vessels that lead to the lungs, kidneys or brain
(Foundation, 2016). This can lead to infection or destruction of vital organs. Other common
effects of heroin addiction include overdose and in many unfortunate cases, death. People often
use heroin along with other drugs or alcohol. This practice is especially dangerous because it
increases the risk of overdose (CDC, 2015). A heroin overdose can cause slow and shallow
breathing, coma, and possible death (CDC, 2015). Like many other chemical dependencies, heroin
addiction is a chronic, relapsing brain disease with a wide range of medical consequences and
severe withdrawal symptoms (Pew, 2015). Addicts fear the unfavorable effects of withdrawal and
often times do not have the proper health support to overcome the

Analysis Of 2016 At T
Over the course of 2016 AT T has found itself at the center of many business and news articles.
However, they are not stories of praise or of the bright future that AT T faces but yet stories of
concern and challenges that lie ahead for the large world renowned telecommunication company.
Here we will take a deeper dive into the growing concerns of AT T and form an environmental
analysis of the three most significant factors, in my opinion that AT T is currently or will face in
the near future.
One of the biggest concerns for AT T falls into the category of Threat of Substitution and is the
same concern that many other cable companies have and that is the waves and waves of cord
cutters that are consuming TV in a very different manner. We... Show more content on

That leaves satellite margins at $42 and pushes DirecTV Now margins to slim, or even negative .
The only positive that AT T can take away from this is that almost every other cable company is
facing the same issues. However, it could prove to be detrimental to one of AT T s competitive
advantages, differentiated services.
Another looming concern posing a threat to AT T ties in with the first concern of AT T s new
cable plan through Direct TV, Direct TV Now and the free streaming feature the service offers.
Federal regulators raised new concerns about AT T Inc. s practice of excluding its new DirecTV
Now streaming service from data charges and, for the first time, lobbed similar questions at Verizon
Communications Inc. . Verizon similarly allows customers to stream NFL games from Twitter or
its go90 app without using data. The agency argues the practice could deter consumers from
accessing mobile video services not affiliated with the carriers, such as those from Netflix Inc. or
Hulu, which is co owned by Walt Disney Co., Comcast Corp., 21st Century Fox and Time Warner
Inc. 21st Century Fox and News Corp, parent company of The Wall Street Journal, share common
ownership . Both AT T and Verizon are insistent that allowing customers to steam content without
data usage or charges is beneficial to customer, but most view this practice as a way to diminish
competition in

Essay about International Differences
International Differences
Did you ever think about what it takes for an international student to come to America for a
college education? They have to leave their family and friends, just as we do, but at a much farther
distance. I cannot imagine amount of money and time it must take to plan a trip across the world,
all for a new, exciting learning experience.
Right now, many of us have just moved to a large university and begun a life on our own. It seems
like a tough idea to grasp when you are just starting to look at colleges, while still in high school or
another point in your life. When the time comes, though, hopefully you will be ready for a change.
International students have to live through this same situation, at an even ... Show more content on

She likes the Iowa State campus, as it is comfortable to her.
I asked Jennifer what some of the differences are here in America as compared to Indonesia. She
said that the classes in her city were small and students were to shy to ask questions. Here, there
are larger classes and more active students. She also said that people converse a lot more here
than in Indonesia. Americans spend a lot more time interacting in this way. One trivial fact I
learned was that in Indonesia you become boyfriend or girlfriend with someone before you go on
any dates. Here, of course, it is usually the opposite case.
Jennifer also told me of a few similarities she has noticed while spending time in the U.S. First,
we are all students, working toward a goal. Each person has his or her own personal goal and way
of working. Also, group work is an enormous part of the Iowa State community. She said that in
Indonesia, group work is not encouraged quite as much, but it is still an important element of a
good education.
Also, imagine what international students think about the terrorism of the last week. Can you
believe that it might be tough for them to handle the American s sad and angry feelings? Do you
think they might be worrying about their family and friends back home? I believe that it is hard
for anyone to endure a change in life. During these hard times, it seems natural for cultures to pull
together and work as one.

Essay on Navajo Code Talkers in WW2
Navajo Code Talkers: Unknown Heroes
Seldom has it ever occurred that heroes to our country, let alone in general, have had to wait
decades for proper acknowledgement for their heroic deeds. This is not the case for the Navajo
Code Talkers. These brave souls had to wait a total of six decades to be acknowledged for their
contributions to the United States and the Allied Forces of WWII. The code talkers were an
influential piece to the success of the United States forces in the Pacific. Thus had it not been for
the Native Americans that volunteered to be code talkers, there might not have been such a drastic
turn around in the fighting of the Pacific Theatre. Prior to the use of the Navajo language as code
there had only been one other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The key to this code was that it was entirely oral, nothing was ever written down. Thus the entire
code had to be memorized which would not prove to be too difficult since it was Native Navajos
speaking their own language. Some translations were rather simple bombs for example
reminded the code talkers of eggs so they used their word for eggs chosea ye shi. The native
word for frog; chal was used as code for an amphibious assault. A bomber plane now was jeeshoo
(buzzard), a submarine beeshloo (iron fish), and a battleship was lootsoh (whale). Britain
became Tota (between the waters), India Ee (white clothes), and Germany Beeshbich aahi (iron
hat). Each letter of the alphabet underwent a similar transformation. In the code wolachii (ant)
stood for В‘a , shash (bear) for В‘b and mosi (cat) for В‘c (DinГ©). On a more comedic note
Descriptive Navajo names for enemies and enemy leaders were coined. Adolf Hitler was
Daghailchiih (Moustache Smeller). ( Coded Contributions History Today, Jul 91) It is ironic that
the very language white Americans and settlers and missionaries have been urging and forcing
the Navajos to stop using since their arrival would be need by the whites in order to be
successful. Perhaps more ironic was that it was the son of a protestant missionary that came up
with a proposal for the idea. This man was named Philip Johnston. He had grown up on a Navajo
reservation in New Mexico. His proposal reached the

Gun Control Laws Should Have A Balance
America has the highest amount of gun related deaths each year in the world. In Germany 381,
in France 255, in Canada 165 in the United Kingdom 68, in Australia 65, in Japan 39 and in the
United States, 11,127 (Moore Michael, 51:15 51:48). Since the United States has the highest
number of deaths, it is important to have gun control laws that restrict people from owning
dangerous firearms like machine guns. Gun control laws should support both sides of the debate.
Of course, both sides will not be completely happy with the laws created, but America should have
a balance. In 2008, a poll was taken stating: Adult poll respondents views on the meaning of the
Second Amendment; An individual s right to bear arms: Republican 51% and Democrats 41% (The
History of the Right to Bear Arms). Today, the United States
is more divided on gun control than it
has ever been. The Second Amendment states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed
(Milestones in Federal Gun Control Legislation). Unless the Second Amendment is changed, we
cannot take the right from others to own guns. However, the government should regulate the types
of gun Americans can own and who can own a gun because times have changed and American s
mental health system is broken.
Decades ago, the United States was once a country where a gun was considered to survive and
protect. As Americans civilized the

A Hanging and A Tell-Tale Heart
Within a short story, there is usually an obstacle that the main character has to persevere through.
Between the characters of the guard from George Orwell s A Hanging and the servant from Edgar
Allen Poe s A Tell Tale Heart , they both experience the act of taking another person s life. The
guard from A Hangingworks at a prison in Burma where felons await execution. His job is to lead
the convicted men to their doom and makes sure everything goes routinely and swift. While the
servant from A Tell Tale Heart is a psychopathic man who lets his obsession over his boss s
glasseye lead him to plot and carry out his death. Throughout both stories, the protagonists reach a
moment when they need to take part in the organized killings... Show more content on

As shown, the guard finds it hard to accept the justifications for killing. He sees life as something
precious and feels that even if the option to end someone s life is there, using it would be
inhumane. On the other hand, in the story of The Tell Tale Heartit is clearly shows that the servant
has no regard for life. He states that whenever [the eye] fell upon me, my blood ran cold (Poe 1).
This very gradually (Poe 1) led him to the point where he made up [his] mind to take the life of
the old man, and thus rid [himself] of the eye forever (Poe 1). This alone displays that the
servant considers life as something that is simply disposable because he sees one flaw in the
old man. He feels that the only way to be able to be satisfied is to get rid of what is bothering
him. When it comes to both of these characters, their views on apply death are completely
different. The guard sees that there is something wrong with ending the life ofsomeone who is
completely healthy, while the servant feels that life is something that could be cut short and
ended without a second though. Finally, both protagonists differ in the way they react to the
deaths. For the prison guard as soon as the killing took place an enormous relief had come upon
[them] now that the job was done (Orwell 34 35). The killing causes such a burden on him and
the rest of the staff because it was their duty as guards, they never have any say as to if they could
spare the prisoner.

Chapter 1 Tong Summary
The quote I choose from this week reading is from Tong s (2014) Feminist Thought: A
Comprehensive Introduction. In chapter one Tong (2014) mentions in the 18th century, capitalism
began and women had no need to work outside of their homes because their husbands have become
wealthy enough to provide for their families. Many feminists today believe capitalism is the cause
of oppression to women, such as Marxist and socialist feminists. Tong (2014) states that liberal
feminists believe women should be given the same opportunities as men do especially when it
comes to education and working outside of the home. Tong (2014) mentions the liberal feminist
Mary Wollstonecraft thoughts about women being homemakers. According to Tong (2014),
Wollstonecraft compared such privilege women to members of the feathered race, birds that are
confined to cages and that have nothing to do but preen themselves and stalk with mock majesty
from perch. Middle class ladies were, in Wollstonecraft s estimation, kept women who sacrificed
health, liberty, and virtue for whatever prestige, pleasure, and power their husbands ... Show more

This has been the cultural norm for plenty of decades even so individuals today believe a woman s
only job is a homemaker. It is my belief that women should be given the equal opportunity to
choose. I believe a woman can work outside of the home and being a homemaker. Wollstonecraft
hit the nail on the head when she referred to these women in the 18th century, as birds in confined
cages. These women were not allowed to be who they wanted to be, none the less reach their full
potential. On the other hand, there were women who are satisfied with the role of only being a
homemaker. This lead others to critique liberal feminism because women having the same rational
thought as men, does not interest every woman (Tong,

Abstract
This study presents service quality as what customer says it is, as in the case of higher education
because the product generated by higher education is not visible, tangible that cannot be held,
analyzed and inspected for defects. The study offers insight on how universities in Tanzania have
managed service quality and student satisfaction.
A total of 102 respondents were involved in data collection process using questionnaires and
interviews on students, administrative staff and departments selected at random. The study used
descriptive cross sectional research design. The study on student satisfaction based on service
quality attributes of service responsiveness, reliability and availability. Findings spell out service
responsiveness; service reliability and service availability are significant in measuring service
quality and also the level of student satisfaction. In the study students were not satisfied with the
services that are rendered by different universities.
The findings imply that public and private universities should adequately analyze service quality
attributes ensuring that they meet the expectations and perceptions of the students as this will help
in satisfying their expectations. Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) should enforce

  • 2. Asl 3 Take Home Exam Cody Faucher 14 December 2016 ASL 3 Take Home Exam 1.What is the definition of Eugenics based on a video clip of Edwin Black? According to Edwin Black, eugenics is the effort to create a white, blue eyed, blond haired, Nordic master race in the United States, and wipe away the existence of everyone who did not fit that ideal . Black goes further by explaining the implementation of this ideal, saying Now who did they want to wipe away? They wanted to wipe away Mexicans, Italians. They wanted to wipe away the Asians the Jews, those who they believed were feeble minded, the Deaf, the poor. The Oxford University Press defines eugenics as the science of improving a human population by controlled breeding to increase the occurrence of desirable heritable characteristics with a further and rather illuminating explanation which states, Developed largely by Francis Galton as a method of improving the human race, it fell into disfavor only after the perversion of its doctrines by the Nazis . 2.What did you learn exactly from Edwin Black that you may have not learned in American History? If I had been asked when eugenics began in practice, I would likely have pointed at Nazi era Europe prior to seeing Edwin Black s presentation. However, at the conclusion of his speech I found myself shaken by the fact that eugenics was in practice in California before and during Nazi power. I had thought of California as, in the past, a brave frontier, and at present, a shining beacon of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Story About A Love Story The typical love story would start with the sun blaring down; rays of sunlight finding their way through the green leaves with heat prickling his skins like hot needles. It was to be expected, it was summer after all. The wooden bench was warm under his touch, and he was thankful that it wasn t made from iron or else, he couldn t sit there and wait. It was already near the end of August yet the summer heat seemed to be lingering longer than usual. Sweats started dripping down his back and the thin tank top he was wearing was starting to stick to his skin, making the lad groaned in discomfort. He was never made for hot weather like these but then again he was neither made for the cold as well. So the only thing he could do was sighing at the misfortune of his body s toleration with the temperature of his surroundings. He was about to pull out his phone to check the time for the nth time when a sudden hand gripped his shoulder, jolting him in the surprise. A low chuckle left from the lips of the intruder and he could feel the butterflies in his stomach flutter about. Frowning, he turned to his head to the other. You re late! Tyler whined, pout replacing the former frown. The Black haired laughed, plopping down on the empty space beside the smaller lad. I m sorry, the lecturer held us back for a bit to discuss an assignment. His hand reached into his pocket and pull out a chocolate bar, dangling it in front of Tyler s face. This kind of poem gives the reader the idea that time is not only precious, but scarce. The speaker uses many smooth tatics to persuade the young girl, starting with compliments and ending with a more forceful, morbid appraoch. To His Coy Mistress is not only witty but imgagistic, full of wordplay, and percieved differently by both males and females. Andrew Marvellwas born March 31st, 1621 in yorkshire, England. Starting out it seems like the speaker is the only one in love, but by the end of the poem it is clear that she is equally as passionate as he. Finally there is beauty. The speaker seduces her by validating her conciet. He describes ever way she is beautiful in detail. This poem is disguised as a syllogism, a three part argument with a final concusion. It is concluded that the speakers overall reasoning is illogical. Although, Marvell s poem is described as sophisticated, evocative, and emotionally moving, ( Andrew Marvell 280) Recent criticisms say that a female reader could read this poem and look at it different than a male. The reader, as a female, may percieve it as crude and vulgur. It could be seens as smutt. Where as a male would see it as a smooth, masculine approach to woo a woman. In the beginning of the poem, the female reader could identify the tone of the passage as passionate, but later goes into a more forceful tone. A man reading the poem would pick up a more masculine appeal to love (Kelly 283). Some believe that the text of the poem is aimed to attempt the reader, particularly the male population, in a different way to seduce a woman. (Pittock) The second criticism found was about imagery. Introduction: With the introduction of new Chinese competitors in the DRAM market it is necessary for Samung to access their strategy for the future. Looking at past trends in the DRAM market, current market situation, and projections for the Flash market, the best option for Samsung is to focus their efforts on growing the Flash technology, while maintaining their DRAM output. Analysis: Considering Porter s model as a framework to analyze the level of competition within DRAM memory business, the threat of new entrant is high compared to the threat of substitutes and established rivals in horizontal competition. If we look at rivalry within the DRAM industry between established players, Samsung has a clear advantage over its competitors. Samsung is the market leader in DRAM memory business. It has a wide range of products and its products has a higher brand value. Threat of new entrants is high as Chinese competitors have easier access to large pool of local engineering talent and have a growing market for these DRAM chips. The government is also providing all sorts of assistance, like subsidized land, for the initial setup. Samsung has several options to deter the entry of new Chinese competitors. One option Samsung have is to continue to explore and increase market shares of flash memory markets which is a new and growing market. Samsung can also take advantage by lowering the price of DRAM chips. This would force a price war and drive new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This diary entry shows that instead of hiding and trying and letting Otto Frank attempt to protect them like the play displays, he is brave and tries to scare the burglars away. The play exaggerates how selfish Mr. Van Daan is, if he was at all. The play probably exaggerates Mr. Van Daan s selfishness to create drama in the Annex, making the play more enjoyable. The suitors are fed and housed, and after a number of years they overstay their welcome. In response to this Telemachus, prompted by Athena, informs the suitors that his father is returning home and they are all to vacate Odysseus home. The suitors, in turn, ignore him and continue to eat drink and be merry, at the cost of Telemachus and Penelope s household. What are the consequences of these actions taken by the suitors? Although the primary consequence is their death, they also lose the hand of Penelope. None of them are able to pass the test of stringing the bow of Odysseus except Odysseus himself. This is followed by the main consequence of the suitors execution at the hands of Odysseus and Telemachus. By not respecting the hospitality given by Penelope, they set the stage for their own deaths. This is quite possibly a reference to the fact that they saw hospitality as a way to honor the gods; giving hospitality to a stranger was the same as offering it to a god. Zeus being the god of hospitality, one of the primary ways to worship this aspect of Zeus godliness was to be hospitable to strangers and travelers. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When Edna finally resolved to end her life it is not because she has been rejected by Robert but because she can no longer lead the type authentic life which to her is the only life worth living, and this is the result of the denial of equal rights to women by the society of that day. Chopin has clearly taken care to anticipate criticisms that her suicide would leave the children motherless by having her recently visit the children to find that they really had no need of her and are perfectly content with the grandmother. In having Edna reflect that she would never sacrifice herself for her children, Chopin was not arguing so much in defense of selfish ness as against the view that a mother could be expected to deny her own freedom for the sake the children in a manner that was not expected of the father. The process is to turn a website like google.com into an machine readable address like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for IPv4 that computers use for identification on the network. In fact Google Public DNS is largest DNS service in the world which handles more than 400 billion requests a day. All the computers or hosts on the internet use IP Address to establish a connection with site they are need. With the DNS service, we don t need to remember the whole bunch of numbers stacked at each decimal point. We just use a DNS server and appropriate name servers and access the sites with specific names. And this DNS server manages a massive database which maps the domain names to those IP Addresses. On a short note, DNS server search for the domain name as per the User Request. This process is named as DNS name Resolution and this means DNS servers converts the domain name to IP address. As mentioned earlier, google.com has IP address of 8.8.8.8 which you enter directly into browser will give you the Google s page. Web site s IP addresses are dynamic and some sites use many IP s with only one Domain name.Without DNS servers, Internet access would be a lot tougher. Childhood Obesity And Its Effects On The United States Today Introduction With the recently documented increases in prevalence s dating as late back as to 1980, pediatric obesity now represents one of the most pressing nutritional problems facing children in the United States today. International population studies report comparable rates of increase, so that if current trends remain unchecked, childhood obesity is likely to challenge worldwide public health. Substantial consequences to physical and mental health, both short and long term, must be anticipated. Unfortunately, there is no uniform definition of childhood obesity. Childhood obesity has been variously described by absolute weight , triceps skinfolds , weight for height percentiles, percent of ideal body weight and, most recently, by body mass index (BMI weight in kg=height in meters squared). Although these measures reflect slightly different aspects of body composition or body size, they are moderately well correlated with body fat, even in growing children. In addition to the lack of consistency in the anthropometric measure , the degree of obesity varies from study to study; however, for the majority of studies, a BMI greater than either the 85th or 95th percentile, or a weight for height greater than 120% of ideal was considered obese. It is incurable, but can be effectively managed by comprehensive complete decongestive therapy with the goal of decreasing the limb volume to normal or near normal (Lawenda, Mondry, Johnstone, 2009; Ridner et al., 2014; Rockson, 2016). According to (Lawenda, Mondry, Johnstone, 2009), the lack of effective early lymphedema management results in increased swelling, fibrotic skin changes, pain, paresthesia, and infections. Moreover, Lawenda et al. (2009) stated that early intervention decreases the progression of the disease. Therefore, it is critical to provide early lymphedema intervention to help to promote quality of life, and decrease functional disability, psychosocial deficits, and complications that may be life threatening among the clients who are impacted by lymphedema (Lawenda et al., 2009). Lymphedema is treated by a lymphedema specialist with physician orders to evaluate and treat lymphedema (Rockson, 2016). Why is it that despite sharing so much in terms of ethnicity, culture, religion, and language, India and Pakistan hold such animosity and bitterness towards each other? Since their emergence as independent states from the British Indian Empire in 1947, India and Pakistan have sacrificed considerable blood battling each other. As part of the independence, India was divided into two separate nations India and Pakistan. The Hindu states of British India formed the new country of India, while those states with a Muslim majority became part of Pakistan. The hostility that remains even fifty five years later instigates questions in our minds as to what lies in the future of the relationship between these two Asian countries. • 42. Ballistics In The Field Of Criminal Justice What are the different types of ballistics that we study in the field of criminal justice? We study three main types they are: internal, external, and terminal ballistics. Internal ballistics is the interior workings of a weapon and the functioning of its ammunition. External ballistics is the study of the flight of the bullet from the mussel of the gun to the target. Terminal ballisticsis what happens to the bullet once it hits the target. We will take a closer look at each one of these throughout this paper. Internal Ballistics Internal ballistics is the study of what occurs within the barrel of a firearm from the exact moment when the firing pin hits the primer to the time that the bullet exists out of the barrel of the firearm. ... Wound ballistics which is the effect the missile has on living tissue. Penetration potential is the penetration through different materials and is an influential factor in shooting incidents. One of the most standard tests to the penetration levels was pine boards of various thicknesses, which is often plagued with inaccuracies. In general wound ballistics, which is the capability of a bullet to strike through a human being. The first of these is where a bullet drills its way through the body leaving a small entry and an equally small exit hole. The second is when bullet leaves a small entry hole and an enormous exit hole. Spain was first to establish itself in the new world, using their powerful military and their navy. The new colonies were completely dictated by the king of Spain, such one of his policies allowing colonists to use the native tribes for forced labor. France was the second major power to establish itself. Their main focus was fur trapping and fur trading. The French quickly learned to work with the Native Americans. This victory had come at a great cost, severely straining Britain s economy and banks. Britain felt that the American Colonists should have to pay some on its debts since most of the war was fought to protect the colonists. Britain soon began passing new taxes such as the Stamp Act of 1765. Colonist thought that it was unfair that they were being taxed since they were not allowed representation in British Parliament. For the following ten years, colonists began to realize that they wanted complete independence from Britain. They issued the Declaration of Independence in July of 1776 declaring themselves independent of Britain. The Colonies were now at full scale war with the mother country of Britain. America did not have grand army like Britain in the beginning and would often employ guerrilla tactics. These tactics often involved ambushing the British soldiers, and then quickly retreating to safety before the British soldiers could inflict too many casualties. Eventually America s army would grow and train. They would be able to stand toe to toe with Britain, which was considered to have the strongest army in the world at the time. In October of 1781, Britain would surrender after losing the siege of Yorktown. • 44. The Western Frontier Is An Important Part Of American Society The Western Frontier is an important part of American society that captures the archetypal curiosity that ever American has in search of new opportunities. Frederick Jackson Turner s essay titled, The Significance of the Frontier in American History explains the relevance of westward expansion in the late nineteenth century. Turner describes the western frontier as the meeting point between savagery and civilization because once one crosses the boundary from the East to the West; the laws of civilization no longer apply. The West is characterized by its lawlessness and violence as the settlers struggle to stake their claim on the rough terrain (Turner). Two western classics that are complete polar opposites Willa Cather s My Antonia and Cormac McCarthy s Blood Meridian both depict the civilized but also the savage aspects of the western frontier. The difficult and ever changing geography of the American West shapes each character in both stories, since the American West is a harsh and tedious environment, it allows Darwin s principle of survival of the fittest to be tested. In My Antonia, the protagonist, Antonia, is shown to the reader through the memory of Jim Burden as his childhood sweetheart. Antonia represents the captivating and peaceful beauty of the western prairie even as it endures harsh conditions. On the other hand, Blood Meridian portrays a horribly savage image of the West, where one is in a dog eat dog world and must choose to kill or be killed. McCarthy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By the end of this research I will be able to recognise such conditions and restraints when applying a method to a function problem, as well as being able to use a correct method of optimization and picking one with a high order of convergence to obtain a minimizer as quickly as possible. It is a naturally occurring opiate found in opium poppies and is primarily grown in Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Mexico, and Columbia (National, 2015), but has been illegal in the United States since the early 1900 s. In its purest form, heroinis a fine white powder, but more often, it is found to be rose gray, brown or black in color (Foundation, 2016). The coloring comes from additives which have been used to dilute it (Foundation, 2016). These dilutes can include sugar, caffeine or other substances (Foundation, 2016). Street heroin is sometimes cut with strychnine or other poisons (Foundation, 2016). The various additives do not fully dissolve, and when they are injected into the body, can clog the blood vessels that lead to the lungs, kidneys or brain (Foundation, 2016). This can lead to infection or destruction of vital organs. Other common effects of heroin addiction include overdose and in many unfortunate cases, death. People often use heroin along with other drugs or alcohol. This practice is especially dangerous because it increases the risk of overdose (CDC, 2015). A heroin overdose can cause slow and shallow breathing, coma, and possible death (CDC, 2015). Another looming concern posing a threat to AT T ties in with the first concern of AT T s new cable plan through Direct TV, Direct TV Now and the free streaming feature the service offers. Federal regulators raised new concerns about AT T Inc. s practice of excluding its new DirecTV Now streaming service from data charges and, for the first time, lobbed similar questions at Verizon Communications Inc. . She also said that people converse a lot more here than in Indonesia. Americans spend a lot more time interacting in this way. One trivial fact I learned was that in Indonesia you become boyfriend or girlfriend with someone before you go on any dates. Here, of course, it is usually the opposite case. Jennifer also told me of a few similarities she has noticed while spending time in the U.S. First, we are all students, working toward a goal. Each person has his or her own personal goal and way of working. Also, group work is an enormous part of the Iowa State community. She said that in Indonesia, group work is not encouraged quite as much, but it is still an important element of a good education. Also, imagine what international students think about the terrorism of the last week. Can you believe that it might be tough for them to handle the American s sad and angry feelings? Do you think they might be worrying about their family and friends back home? I believe that it is hard for anyone to endure a change in life. In Germany 381, in France 255, in Canada 165 in the United Kingdom 68, in Australia 65, in Japan 39 and in the United States, 11,127 (Moore Michael, 51:15 51:48). Since the United States has the highest number of deaths, it is important to have gun control laws that restrict people from owning dangerous firearms like machine guns. Gun control laws should support both sides of the debate. Of course, both sides will not be completely happy with the laws created, but America should have a balance. In 2008, a poll was taken stating: Adult poll respondents views on the meaning of the Second Amendment; An individual s right to bear arms: Republican 51% and Democrats 41% (The History of the Right to Bear Arms). Today, the United States is more divided on gun control than it has ever been. The Second Amendment states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (Milestones in Federal Gun Control Legislation). Unless the Second Amendment is changed, we cannot take the right from others to own guns. This very gradually (Poe 1) led him to the point where he made up [his] mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid [himself] of the eye forever (Poe 1). This alone displays that the servant considers life as something that is simply disposable because he sees one flaw in the old man. He feels that the only way to be able to be satisfied is to get rid of what is bothering him. When it comes to both of these characters, their views on apply death are completely different. The guard sees that there is something wrong with ending the life ofsomeone who is completely healthy, while the servant feels that life is something that could be cut short and ended without a second though. In chapter one Tong (2014) mentions in the 18th century, capitalism began and women had no need to work outside of their homes because their husbands have become wealthy enough to provide for their families. Many feminists today believe capitalism is the cause of oppression to women, such as Marxist and socialist feminists. Tong (2014) states that liberal feminists believe women should be given the same opportunities as men do especially when it comes to education and working outside of the home. Tong (2014) mentions the liberal feminist Mary Wollstonecraft thoughts about women being homemakers. According to Tong (2014), Wollstonecraft compared such privilege women to members of the feathered race, birds that are confined to cages and that have nothing to do but preen themselves and stalk with mock majesty from perch.
