Defective Linear Tires
The objective of this tutorial is to instruct the reader how to swap a defective car tire for a spare. Spare
tires can be used as a makeshift fix so that the driver can safely make it to a repair shop. Basic
knowledge of tools and fasteners is needed for this tutorial. Failure to follow instructions closely may
lead to personal injury, damage to your vehicle, or can cause an accident on the road. If you are in
doubt whether or not you can handle the tutorial, call a professional or a towing company to assist
you. Changing a car tire requires a set of basic tools. Many of these can be found in the average
emergency car kit, but some parts need to be purchased extra. A crucial tool to the process is a car
jack. This will hold the car up while you are working. Also, some form of a wrench to tighten and
loosen the lug nuts will be necessary. There are many options for this, such as a pneumatic or
hydraulic powered wrench. However, since this tutorial is focused mainly on emergency situations,
the most common form of wrench is called a tire iron. Most hardware and auto shops have these.
While it may be the most difficult way to tighten lug nuts, tire irons are easily stored and are the
cheapest form of wrench. Assuming you are on the road when a blow out were to occur, the first step
of changing a tire is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Find the socket on the tire iron that fits snugly over your size lug nut. Begin applying force on the tire
iron going counterclockwise, or left. To break the nuts requires a lot of strength. If necessary, you may
need to use all of your body weight or stomp on the tire iron to loosen them. Turn the hubcap upside
down and place each lug nut in there to prevent losing them. Continue the process for all five or six
lug nuts, depending on the car model. After all nuts have been removed, the tire and rim should slide
off of the pins that the tire rests

Analysis Of The Farewell Of Telemachus And Eucharis
The Farewell of Telemachus and Eucharis by Jacques Louis David
This painting is an oil on canvas. It was painted by Jacques Louis David in 1818. It is depicting a
couple from Fénelon s novel, Les Aventures de Télémaque, which was inspired by Homer s Odyssey.
This painting was about a young mythological couple who were madly in love with each other.
Telemachus, the son of Penelope and Odysseus, and Eucharis a daughter to the goddess Calypso were
so strongly in love with each other, that they were absolutely devastated when the lover s learned that
they were going to be torn apart. The viewer sees Eucharis draping over Telemachus before he leaves
to find his father. Telemachus and Eucharis both look very saddened that Telemachus had to leave.
Portrait of the Sisters Zénaïde and Charlotte Bonaparte by Jacques Louis David
This painting was also an oil on canvas and was also painted by the same artist listed above. It was
painted in 1821 in France, depicting two sisters, Zénaïde and Charlotte Bonaparte, who are the nieces
to Napoleon. The sisters are reading a letter from their father, Joseph Bonaparte, who was exiled in the
United States when they had previously lived in Belgium. Jacques Louis David painted the two sisters
in a way that displayed both their different ages and personalities. The oldest sister, wearing a black v
shaped dress, is staring at the viewer and has a protective looking demeanor towards her younger
sister. The younger sister, wearing a more

Summary Of Hiding Behind The Screen By Roger Scruton
Hiding Behind the Screen In today s world we use our screens to hide behind, from making avatars, to
Facebook, to simply adding a friend on any media site. We constantly avoid human interactions, using
media as a front. Hiding Behind the Screen was written by English philosopher Roger Scruton. This
article goes into great depth about Scrutons views on the use of technology. A title such as Hiding
Behind the Screen can catch the attention of pretty much anyone, mostly more of the younger crowd.
The words hiding and screen already sets up that this article is going to be about social media in some
form. From the beginning to the end of the article his usage in strong arguments, words, and
information appeals to his readers. Listing more and more ways the media plays tricks on our
perception of the world around us.
The author Roger Scruton is 73 years old; he grew up in Buslingthorpe, Lincolnshire England. Roger
Scruton is a well rounded writer, because of his vast array of works ranging from novels to operas.
Scruton, a conservative and has written many books. Most of which were about being a conservative;
for example, his book How to be a Conservative (2014). Not only did Scruton write, he taught
Philosophy at Birkbeck College,Oxford University, and The University of St. Andrews. Scruton
became known after he and three other British philosophers founded the Jan Hus Educational
Foundation, which was an underground education network where professors would teach

How Does Huckleberry Finn Criticize Society
As pinnacle texts of nineteenth century USA, The Scarlet Letter (1850), by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), by Mark Twain, provide an in depth, yet equally critical
representation of their respective societies, with a variety of methods the main focus of this essay. In
an attempt to discuss the types of criticisms which are presented in the novels, the essay will first
identify the aspects of society which are most evidently controversial in each novel, and ultimately
explore the dramatic techniques with which Twain and Hawthorne criticise them. Primarily, I will look
at how the writers manipulate narrative voice to criticise their societies. Following on from this will be
an exploration of the choice of character (and its relation to contrast and humour), which will
ultimately lead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When observing his new situation in the Grangerford family, Huck notes how [his nigger] had a
monstrous easy time, because [he] warn t used to having anybody do anything for [him] (AHF, p.
238). Rather than take advantage of his superior status as a white person, Huck defies societal
expectations and refuses to make use of the slave he has been assigned, this heightened level of
morality being suggestive of what feeling can accomplish in opposition to apparently irrefutable fact.
Much like The Scarlet Letter, the irony arises due to the fact that Huck takes up a position which
would not be expected of him in that society, as a consequence of his developed conscience. Through
allowing Huck to feel , instead of accepting the apparently irrefutable fact of his superiority over
African Americans, Twain cleverly criticises his society, by noting its condoning nature of slavery,
compared to Huck s cleverly disguised dismissal of

A Description Of Insanity
Insanity In mourning is my delight, like a star in eternal night. As black as an endless pit, in pestilence
of my cindered soul. A pulse and beat! Lo, my heart cries forth, insanity insanity is Terra s mark. A sky
at night, a shining light; in black I mourn a star s delight. In the blackest arts, a drum, a beat, a shrill in
terror of the night s delight. In night I swoon my darkened plight, clothed in black I mourn the fading
night. In blackest delight is sanity s plight; a fading shadow of light. Sanity s darkest hour; in
mourning I dress for black delight. Insanity by strike of Terra s cultural blight, my orbit a dark delight.

Investigating The Effect Of Ligand On The TFT Properties...
To investigate the effect of ligand on the TFT properties, we focused on the In2O3 NCs films cured at
150 °C. Both the ligand molecules OA and BET were conserved on the NCs surface in the TFT
devices at a curing temperature of 150 °C. The TGA curves confirmed no weight loss at 150 °C
(Figure. 4). Moreover, the FTIR spectrum of the thin films cured at 150 °C also supported the
existence of the ligand molecules OA and BET with high intensity peaks of the alkyl group Csp3 H
and carboxylate group COO (Figures 5(a) and 5(b)). Therefore, The µ increased after the ligand
exchange process because of the decrease ligand length from OA (1.97 nm) to BET (0.48 nm). In the

Table 1. TFT characteristics of the In2O3 OA NCs and In2O3 BET NCs thin films annealed at
different temperatures.
The µ of In2O3 OA NC and In2O3 BET NC thin films increased by 2 4 orders of magnitude with
increasing annealing temperatures from 150 °C to 350 °C, at which the OA or BET ligands
decomposed as discussed in the TGA (Figure 4) and FTIR results (Figures 5(a) and 5(b)). Specially,
the highest mobility obtained in this study are 4.1 cm2V 1s 1 for the In2O3 BET NC TFT annealed at
350 °C. This can be explained by thermal decomposition of the organic ligands OA or BET on the NC
surface, decreasing the d between the neighboring nanocrystals with increasing annealing
temperatures [15]. This was further supported by investigating the crystalline domain sizes of the NCs
from the XRD pattern of the thin films (in the supplementary information). The crystalline domain
sizes were not significantly affected by the annealing temperature, indicating that the In2O3 NC thin
films still consisted of an assembly of the single crystalline NCs [15].
Temperature dependence of In2O3 NC TFT devices To know the charge transport mechanism, the
relationship between the mobility and temperature was investigated. The temperature dependence of
the mobility takes the general form

MSC Qualification In Healthcare Leadership
On the 29th June 2015 I started my MSC qualification in Healthcare Leadership. I was given my first
assignment to deliver a teaching session to a small group of colleagues on why leadership behaviours
matters to health and social care. I was immediately anxious and nervous about delivering this session,
I didn t want to say the wrong thing or not be able to answer questions properly. I did a teaching
session a few weeks prior on a different subject and initially felt the same.
Afterwards, I was reassured in myself that I had delivered a well structured and informative session
that my colleagues could relate to.
At the time I did not feel that my colleagues were interested in the session or understood the context
that leaders can have an influence in patient care. One of the first reviews carried out shows that
leaders are able directly to affect the safety of their team s actions and outcomes an extremely
important finding for patient care. (Jenny Firth Cozens and Derek Mowbray). I decided to develop the
session around the Francis report of mid Staffordshire. This gave a true reflection into why leadership
behaviours directly affect patient care. This report was an example where hundreds of people were let
down by the NHS. The evidence from the inquiries showed there was lack of care, compassion,
humanity and leadership. I felt that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the system was put ahead of the priority that should have been given to the protection of patients . It

neglected here with detrimental consequences; therefore little leadership was

Explain Why Kids Should Get Paid To Do Chores Around The Home
In my opinion I don t think kids should get paid to do chores around the house. When you do little
things like laundry, or cleaning your room, or swiping I think you should just do it. The reason why
you should just do it is because it is a favor your parents have asked you for. Help your parents out
they already have to deal with you,and if you have any animals or siblings they have to deal with
them. Just take my advice I have to do chores but I suck it up and don t ask for money like some
people do. Just take the fact that you are old enough to have responsibility and old enough to do it.

The Effects Of Environmental Sustainability On Western...
The Effects of Environmental Sustainability in Western Harbour
With the development of society, the life quality of human has been greatly improved. However, it
also leads to the destruction of nature, and this result in climate change. Climate change affects human
life in various aspects such as environment, economic, and social. For solving these problems, an idea
of sustainable urbanism was put forward. Brundtland Commission defined in 2010 that sustainable
urbanism is a urban development which not only can meet the needs of contemporary citizens, but
also have the ability to meet the needs of future generations. Sustainable urbanism can slow down
climate change while at the same time balancing environment, economic and social. Among these,
environmental sustainability is most important. In 1995, Goodland reported that environmental
sustainability is an eternal challenge which requires the environment which human being lives is not
damaged, whilst the present and future generations can be fed and housed well. This essay will focus
on the effects of three aspects as recycling, energy use and natural design of environmental
sustainability in Western Harbour, Malmö, Sweden.

The Role Of Zinc In The Gastrointestinal System
The aim of this article is to show the role of Zinc in the gastrointestinal system and its utility in
children with diarrhea. Diarrhea remains a serious health problem in the developing countries and
predominantly affects children under five years old. Diarrheal diseases are the second leading cause of
death for children and one of the main causes of malnutrition in children under five. However, they
are preventable and treatable diseases.
Malnourished refers to a pathological condition caused by lack of intake or absorption of nutrients
including proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins and/or minerals. Malnutrition causes various health
problems affecting the normal growth and development, can lead to mental and intellectual retardation

mortality rates from diarrheal disease. On the other hand, Zinc supplementation has shown
effectiveness to diminish severity and duration related to the increase of morbidity and malnutrition in
children under 5 years old. So, Zinc supplementation is an inexpensive and secure adjunctive therapy.
Besides, it might avoid treatment of diarrhea with unnecessary antibiotics and other drugs. Zinc

Competition And Sustainability For Reducing Production Costs
Competition and sustainability in the third party IT contracting industry in the United States are driven
by economic factors such as outsourcing, globalization, mergers, and acquisitions (Rose Anderssen,
Baldwin, Ridgway, 2011). In turn, these factors shape and transform third party IT contracting
companies (Jancikova Brychta, 2009). IT outsourcing (ITO) is a business solution for reducing
production costs (Desar McGee, 2010). This approach is used frequently in the operation of call
centers to provide customer service. For example, in Germany, a labor regulatory framework is used
to reduce labor costs in the operation of registered companies (Weinkopf, 2009). Work is outsourced
to less developed countries with less costly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Representatives of most IT companies, particularly call centers, use cloud computing software to
allow connectivity and sharing of resources in company data centers (Beverakis, Dick, Cecez
Kecmanovic, 2009). Cloud computing software is an advanced tool used in outsourcing, particularly
for communications, because of the capacity to collect and access massive amounts of data. This
software is commonly operated in a data center, which allows access to associated data in a variety of
ways (Anthes, 2010). Because most call centers operate using cloud computing, third party IT
contracting security is a primary concern (Anthes, 2010; Gatewood, 2009).
During the 1980s and 90s, outsourcing organizational activities became the standard for many
organizations (Kahai et al., 2011). Outsourcing, as a part of an organization s overall strategic plan,
has been effective in helping achieve organizational goals and objectives (Kahai et al., 2011).
Currently, many organizations incorporate outsourcing into the strategic plan, and this trend will
probably increase in the future (Heikkila Heikkila, 2010). Although outsourcing will not solve all of
the problems inherent in attempting to achieve competitive advantages and organizational cost
reductions in an organization, the practice is increasingly part of an organization s overall
comprehensive strategy in the business world (Andreff, 2009). While

Fix It. Although he served time in prison the fact that he can fix things makes him a good choice.
There will be plenty of houses, cars and other things needing to be fixed. Had the criminal charges
been for murder or something of that nature, he would not have been a good choice, because one
might question his trustworthiness. These four were easy because one needs: a leader to keep things
organized, someone to provide spiritual and emotional support, and someone to put things back
together again.
For the last two slots in the shelter they had a hard time deciding. Some wanted to pick the 16 year old
pregnant girl because she would be able to help repopulate the world. Plus, it s just hard to think about
killing someone carrying a child. They had stated, though that they would use logic and, other than
bringing a child into the world she no other attributes. A movie star and an athlete are nice for
entertainment purposes, but are they necessary for rebuilding a new society. Not really. The committee
decided to give the last two slots to third year medical student and African American militant
biological researcher. The medical student can provide medical care to those that get sick or hurt. The
biological researcher can provide insight into the effects the nukes had on the environment. When
building a new society there is going to be bumps along the way. The medical student and biological
researcher can provide treatment for injuries and sickness. They can

Truman s Vision Statement
When I enrolled at Truman State University, I did not realize how my race impacted me on both a
personal and global level. I believed we lived in a post racial society where race and ethnicity did not
matter. However, on Monday, November 24th, 2014, when officer Darren Wilson was not indicted for
the killing of Michael Brown, I experienced an epiphany. Race matters. Whether an individual
believes that race did or did not play a role in Michael Brown s death, race was reignited as a
prominent topic in America due to the Black Lives Matter movement. Roland Martin, the host of

Klyukovski, I pondered how my institution dealt with diversity. He proposed examining Truman s
vision statement to understand what the institution will do when issues of diversity arise. After
conducting some preliminary research on vision statements and generic criticism, I knew this is what I
wanted to study. I was ecstatic that I was able to add to the scholarly conversation centered on vision
statements within higher education. It was incredible learning how such a short statement served as a
reminder of where an organization wants to go. During the McNair program, I discovered a part of me
that I never knew existed, a researcher. I never thought of myself as that because I believed
researchers were naturally smart, which I was not. However, intelligence is not determined by grades
or GPA. It is about grit, which I gained by never being the victim of my circumstances. As mentioned
earlier, coming to terms with my racial identity definitely impacted my academics. While I was
enraged by Truman s aura, I realized I could not let that take away from my mental energy anymore.
With the arrival of my senior year, I channeled all that frustration in graduate applications and studies
because unless I did well in those two avenues, I would not be leaving Truman anytime soon. Now, I
have been accepted into five different Master Programs (as of 3/18) at the University of Texas San

techniques are used to show the relationship between the speaker and the swamp. In Crossing the
Swamp imagery is a technique used by the author to develop a relationship between the speaker and

serve as one of the most famous female American Missionaries to grace the modern world. Jean was
second in birth order to her brother, Michael, who would later inspire her in her divine missionary
work. The Donovan family resided in upper middle class Westport, Connecticut where her father
provided a comfortable life as an engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft Division for United Technologies

It is also recorded that, in gratitude of his support, Jean would bake Romero a batch of chocolate chip

1980 while leading an evening Mass. Soon after, an all night wake was held in memory of his blessed
life. During the wake, the El Salvadorian Government launched bombs into the mourning crowd,
killing 30. In conquering the trauma, Jean was greatly moved by this event and her desire to walk in
the path of God further strengthened. Jean was also motivated by St. Francis of Assisi. Out of
exhaustion, Jean took a six week vacation to reunite with her family in September of that year. During
this time, she confessed her fear of being killed on her mission and confided in God for strength. Jean
was clearly fearful of the violence in El Salvador, but through God, she regained confidence and
returned to El Salvador. Jean returned refreshed with the Holy Spirit. She began to sweep the streets,
feeding the hungry, consoling the worried, and strengthened the weak through prayer and worship.
Jean was filled with the Lord s Word and worked to share it with the needy. Despite her positive spirit,
the lurking danger and increasing violence slowly proved to be an inevitable barrier against Jean in
her remarkable mission.

There Will be Blood was released in 2007. The director and the screenwriter was by Paul Thomas

Uterus Persuasive Speech
A uterus transplant is a whole organ transplant that is allowing women the opportunity of being
pregnant. There are millions of women worldwide that have uterine factor infertility, UFI, which has
left them unable to carry a pregnancy due to the lack of no uterus. In the past, women with UFI could
only have children by surrogates or by adopting. The transplant patients t and donors are tested and
matched. The uteruses have been donated by a chosen donor of the recipient s choice, patient s
mother, family member, or close friend. The removal of the uterus from the donor takes twice as long

It can become very complicated if the terms between the person carrying the child and the person
receiving child is not clearly stated and understood. There are many medical bills, the surrogate s time

become detached after carrying the infant for nine months. This is a very strong emotional tie that
could cause the surrogate to reconsider the whole deal. Even many years down the road the surrogate
could want or try to become involved in the child s life. Surrogacy is legal in the United States. In the

Wealth Health Gradient In The Film Unnatural Causes
The lives of the characters in the film Unnatural Causes exemplifies concepts like the wealth health
gradient and the importance of power and control. As the narrator in the film states the wealth health
gradient is: 70% of affluent Americans report that they ve got good health this is twice as many as
people who are poor in America. The lives of the lives of Jim Taylor, Tondra Young, Corey Anderson
and Mary Turner exemplify the concept because they all are living proof that the wealth health

Corey s stress is job related, his job requires him to work long difficult hours and it is very demanding.
Mary Turners stress is financially brought on. As said in the film Many has always been poor. It is
heart wrenching to me to think that there are people our there skipping meals to feed their children.
However, it is happening every day. In a way, society enables people to live in poverty. Mary states
that if she gets a job she may loose her medical coverage. This is absolutely true. In Maine people who

The Apology And Phaedo By Socrates
In the Apology and Phaedo, as Socrates prepares to die his friends are concerned about him and why
he does not fear death, but rather looks forward to this. Plato through Socrates makes this statement of
his beliefs of death and what lies beyond this final barrier of consciousness. Plato believes that we live
on through our souls and into another body. Socrates faces death with excitement because in his eyes
to die is to practice perfect philosophy. This comes from his Argument of Opposites and the Theory of
Forms. As we discussed previously Theory of Forms, states that everything in the world fits into two
categories, the abstract universals, things such as beauty itself, equality itself, and piety itself and the
second category is concrete particulars, things that exist in space and time, such as sunsets, music, and
people. However Socrates derives his confidence from a combination of the argument of opposites
and the theory of forms. This Argument from the Theory of Forms for the immortality of the soul: If
we assume the theory of forms is true, and there is a form of Life itself, then souls are the sources of
life because they participate in the form of life, then souls cannot participate in the opposing form of
life, death, at the same time, if the principle of non contradiction is true. Now since death is the
opposite of life, souls can t participate in it, therefore souls are immortal. Socrates makes these claims
to comfort his friends and followers who are concerned

Environmental Factors Involved In Hunger
The body uses a balance of fuel (food); energy used, and body weight to determine homeostasis.
When the energy level is low, and the nutrient reservoir (adipose tissue) is triggered. When the brain is
low on glucose (glucoprivation), or the body is low on fatty acids (liporivation), it activates the hunger
cycle. However, there are other factors involved in hunger. Environmental factors (senses), which may
signal hunger even when an individual was not hungry. The five senses (smell, taste, sight, and sound)
contribute to the feelings of hunger.
A stomach growling is a signal for a food, or even thirst. The body requires a certain amount of
nutrients (carbohydrates, fats, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals) in order to survive. Metabolism is
the chemical course in the body to keep it alive. There are two phases in metabolism, the absorption
phase, and the fasting phase. In the absorption phase is the digestive system absorbs nutrients, and
excessive nutrients are stored in adipose tissue for future use. The fasting phase occurs when nutrients
are unavailable to the digestive system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ghrelin sends a message to the hypothalamus that monitors body functions. Once the hunger is
appeased, there is a reduction in the production of ghrelin. Researchers believe that overwhelming
elevations of ghrelin is the cause of overeating; however, researchers are unsure why the hormone
increases. The body stores the nutrients in the stomach, and a nutrient reserve. Carlson (as cited in
Novin, VanderWeele, and Rezek, 1973) explained that the hepatic portal vein in the liver transmits
hunger signals to the brain when glucose is low. Unfortunately, the body uses up more energy than it
takes in, which is the time the hunger cycle begins

Effects Of Multitasking On The Brain
Introduction: Audience: Future Scientist and Known Multi Taskers, also the President
The Effects of Multitasking on the Brain
Hook: Everyone thinks that multitasking is good for the brain and that everyone should want that skill.
Well unfortunately studies proven by scientist at the institute in Paris Santé et de la Recherche
Médication found that the brain splits into two, basically splitting the attention. It was said that at the
most someone can do two things at once depending on the ease of the tasks. The reason being for this
is due to the two frontal lobes of the brain designed to help someone with tasks.
Intro of subject/issue: Through people may think may think well i can do my homework, check my
phone, and listen to some dance music all at the same time , but the ease of turning on a screen,
pressing play on the screen while looking at notifications, also while reading and writing doesn t
compare to driving a car while checking the phone. According to neuroscientist Etienne Koechlin
extensive practice of a single task to where there is no room for improvement makes multitasking a lot
easier for large task such as putting on makeup while driving (moms).
Thesis: All of this is quite fascinating but according to neurologist Adam Gazzaley of the University
of California, San Francisco multitasking is harder with age. Meaning memory has a part in
multitasking as to being able to switch off certain networks of the brain responsible for processing
information.

The Military Decision Making Process Essay
The Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) is an analytical and deliberate process that
commanders follow using seven steps that includes the receipt of the mission, mission analysis, course
of action development, course of action analysis, course of action comparison, course of action
approval and orders production. The MDMP gives leaders a thorough process to follow that provides
clarity and synchronization for operations even under time constrained environments. We need an
Army that is trained on making decisions, able to anticipate needs and able to be proactive in
accomplishing tasks even when unexpected duties arise. The MDMP sets the Army up for success in
getting to this point. Without the MDMP, leaders will struggle to make crucial decisions and they will
certainly struggle to make them under pressure during time sensitive missions.
Not just our own history but the history of other countries has shown that running military operations
without planning properly can result in inconceivable losses. At the National Defense Executive
Reserve Conference on November 14, 1957, Dwight D. Eisenhower was quoted as stating: I heard
long ago in the Army: plans are worthless, but planning is everything. The MDMP is a single,
established, and proven analytical process (US Department of the Army, 1997). The process is crucial
to our success not just because of the course of action (COA) developed out of it but more so because
of what we learn out of the process along the way.

How Liesel’s Actions Place Her and Others in Dangerous...
Reluctance or stubbornness in ending impulsive actions can have consequences. In the Book Thief by
Markus Zusak, Liesel Meminger s inability to halt her dangerous habits put her and others lives in
dangerous situations. Three main examples of Liesel s dangerous activities are when she steals books,
when she demonstrates kindness at improper times, and when she disrespects others for her own
selfish reasons. In all these examples, there is always one moment where Liesel places her or others in
harm s way and narrowly escapes punishment. Every time Liesel steals books from people, she
consistently places the lives of others at risk. An example of this is when Liesel is worried about Max
dying and wants to steal a book and read it to him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people perceive kindness in different ways as what they might think seems nice, could be
harmful to others. When Liesel tries to communicate with Max, she does not pause to think that such
an action would put her and Max in danger. On page 513, the book narrates He cried as the soldiers
came and a small collection...Standing, he was whipped . It was Max who was the one whipped by the
soldiers because they saw Liesel hugging and talking to him. Max s life was placed in danger because
Liesel thought she was being kind by talking to him. It is understandable that she wanted to
communicate with Max after a long time of not seeing him, but the manner in which she conveyed her
emotions to him was too obvious to the soldiers watching. Had Rudy not been quick on his feet to go
and help her, she would ve been punished more for speaking with Max. In addition to the immediate
damage done, other people who witnessed the situation would think that Liesel s family was
sympathetic to Jews, something not considered good at that time. The long term consequences of
Liesel s stubbornness to speak with Max set an even deeper impression to when Hans gave the bread
to the Jews and therefore puts her and her family in more danger. This is another example of Liesel s
stubbornness, or perceived kindness, which place her and others lives in danger. Lastly, there are many

The Portrayal Of Richard Kearney And The Negative Side Of...
The atrocities of the Holocaust, along with the suffering of its victims, are spoken of in literary texts
and shown in films. Can the Holocaust actually be represented ethically, in a way that honors the
horrific suffering of the victims, and in a real sense, by either of these forms of narrative
representations, especially film? Critics argue both sides of this question; some stating that the movie,
Schindler s List, trivializes the Holocaust; whereas, others defend the film. This paper will look at
both sides of this argument; the positive side of Richard Kearney and the negative side of Claude
Lanzmann.
In regards to one positive critique of the film, Schindler s List, Richard Kearney believes that fiction
can actually serve to bring out a truth that otherwise remains concealed (Kearney, 2012). This belief
came about, during a talk in Montreal, when a woman Holocaust survivor came up to Kearney and
said, You know, I was one of the survivors. I was on Schindler s list. I was never able to return to the
experience, never able to revisit it, never able to talk about it, never able to think about it, remember it,
until I saw the film. And when I saw the fictional account played by fictional characters, I was then
and only then able to identify with myself as a real victim. Her words led Kearney to see Schindler s
List as a positive cinematic portrayal of the Holocaust because it took fiction for her to be able to
experience it for the first time (Kearney, 2012).

The questions that I asked myself while watching this lesson was where could I insert questions while
reading to students and where would I change instruction for a better assessment of student abilities.
While watching the teacher read to students there was little questions asked during reading, but at the
end, they make a prediction quickly and then check the prediction with the end of the book. I would
have asked more prediction questions throughout the book and also given students more time to think
about the story and how it differs from a version they have heard before.
For the beginning letter assessment sheet at the end, I would have included in the instruction to use
lower case letters for all things that are not proper nouns, and then do a quick review of what words
should get an upper case letter. I also would have taken time with students to go over any possible
confusion they might have with pictures or letters, by working briefly with them to check their work.
Often times, students get the chance to go back and recheck their work, and this is a good skill to

To Lead You Must First Have Self-Awareness
Kouzes and Posner (2011) propose that to lead you must first have self awareness. In leading change it
is therefore important for the change leader to be aware of their style of leadership and their approach
to change. This section examines the Author s styles and is then followed by a description of their
recommended approach for the change. The Balogun s and Hope Hailey s (2004) framework is used to
describe this approach. 3.1 Leadership Style Goleman, D (2000) details five styles of leadership,
Coercive, Authoritative, Affiliative, Democratic, Pacesetting, and Coaching. Figure 3 1 provided a
view of results from a Leadership Style Questionnaire (Hay Group, 2007) detailing the Author s
dominant and Figure 3 1 Authors Leadership styles (Adapted from Goleman D (2000) and Hay Group
(2007) backup styles. The results show that the Author s dominant styles are Affiliative and Coaching.
These are backed up by the Authoritative and Pacesetting styles. This means that when leading the
Author will have a predisposition to putting people first and a try this approach (Goleman D, 2000).
Given the diversity of those involved in the change this style will need to be recognised in the change
design and will need to be compensated for as required. 3.2 Change Style A second important aspect
of a change leader s style is how they are inclined to think and act during the change process. De

Speech On True Forgiveness Is True Freedom
Take on the really tough things that happen in life. Anything, yes, anything can be forgiven if you
truly desire to remove the pain from continuing in your life. You will not change what happened, and
you will control how it reflects in your future. Stop a minute and ponder, what would your life feel
like with the power to forgive anything, and anyone, including yourself? True forgiveness is true
freedom.
Many life lessons are learned from nature. Stand on the edge of the canyon and shout. Listen to echo
as it bounces around and comes back full circle. The mind is much the same way. Your thoughts create
active echoes. As long as you choose to hang onto the resentment and anger an active echo bounces
around and affects your every decision. The offender wins. You never progress to become completely
free of the damaging behavior. The echos are sometimes hard to identify and they come back a little
muffled. Still they deliver the same chemical messages to the brain and the whole emotional cycle
runs through, even if you are not sure why. It doesn t always connect with a straight line. What is
echoing in your mind?
This is not about saying the offender is not responsible for the negative behavior. It does not mean that
you allow the offender back in your life to wreak havoc. It does not mean that you have to tell anyone
about your situation, and yet you can if it helps you with the journey. It is a journey. It does not
happen without mountains and valleys. And you are not

Affairs, Wealth, and Murder in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The...
In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald tells about affairs, describes wealth, and tells about Murder. There are
three different murders in The Great Gatsby. An automobile hit and killed Tom s mistress, Myrtle s
companion shot Jay Gatsby, and Wilson committed suicide. Most of these murders happened as a
consequence of the love affairs that happened throughout the book. Two love affairs in particular are a
cause for all three of these murders. One was Tom Buchannan and Myrtle Wilson and the other was
Daisy Buchannan and Jay Gatsby.
The first murder that occurred is the car accident. Tom and Jay Gatsby had a forceful quarrel over
Daisy. This dispute left Daisy tense and puzzled. Daisy left the hotel with Gatsby. Gatsby decided to
let her drive to calm her nerves. As they were passing the gas station that Myrtle and George Wilson

overlooked it. Instead of decreasing in momentum, Daisy amplified her pace and hit Daisy, Tom s
mistress. Daisy did not stop after hitting Myrtle, instead she sped off (Baker). Once Nick, Tom, and
Jordan passed the gas station, they saw the commotion and decided to stop and check it out. They

Growing Up Tethered By Sherry Turkle Essay
There are few places on this Earth, if any, where the possibilities are truly endless. However, if you
detach yourself from the physical world and emerge into the online world, you find that this just might
actually be accurate in this realm. The World Wide Web has had so much to offer to us since the early
1990s, but with this comes controversy. Unleashed onto a plane of seemingly immeasurable freedom
of anonymity, was the world ready for such responsibility? Since those early days when new emerging
technology changed our lives immensely, have we at all become a better place, or have we bitten off
more than we can chew, and doomed our human relations forever? Exploring these concepts are three
in depth articles, including: Growing Up Tethered by Sherry Turkle, The Loneliness of the
Interconnected by Charles Seife, and Cybersexism by Laurie Penny. Although it is thought that the
Internet brings the world together, it actually does not help us politically, culturally, and economically
like one would believe, as it makes us unable to be independent, isolates us from different points of
view, and encourages real world violence against women and other minority groups. One of the
overall concerns regarding easily accessible technology is our dependency on it. When we take a
closer look, we see an interesting dynamic: we feel a sense of isolation and danger if we are without
our technology, so much so that we risk even further greater danger (literally and figuratively)

  • 2. Defective Linear Tires The objective of this tutorial is to instruct the reader how to swap a defective car tire for a spare. Spare tires can be used as a makeshift fix so that the driver can safely make it to a repair shop. Basic knowledge of tools and fasteners is needed for this tutorial. Failure to follow instructions closely may lead to personal injury, damage to your vehicle, or can cause an accident on the road. If you are in doubt whether or not you can handle the tutorial, call a professional or a towing company to assist you. Changing a car tire requires a set of basic tools. Many of these can be found in the average emergency car kit, but some parts need to be purchased extra. A crucial tool to the process is a car jack. This will hold the car up while you are working. Also, some form of a wrench to tighten and loosen the lug nuts will be necessary. There are many options for this, such as a pneumatic or hydraulic powered wrench. However, since this tutorial is focused mainly on emergency situations, the most common form of wrench is called a tire iron. Most hardware and auto shops have these. While it may be the most difficult way to tighten lug nuts, tire irons are easily stored and are the cheapest form of wrench. How Does Huckleberry Finn Criticize Society As pinnacle texts of nineteenth century USA, The Scarlet Letter (1850), by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), by Mark Twain, provide an in depth, yet equally critical representation of their respective societies, with a variety of methods the main focus of this essay. In an attempt to discuss the types of criticisms which are presented in the novels, the essay will first identify the aspects of society which are most evidently controversial in each novel, and ultimately explore the dramatic techniques with which Twain and Hawthorne criticise them. Primarily, I will look at how the writers manipulate narrative voice to criticise their societies. Much like The Scarlet Letter, the irony arises due to the fact that Huck takes up a position which would not be expected of him in that society, as a consequence of his developed conscience. • 7. Investigating The Effect Of Ligand On The TFT Properties... To investigate the effect of ligand on the TFT properties, we focused on the In2O3 NCs films cured at 150 °C. Both the ligand molecules OA and BET were conserved on the NCs surface in the TFT devices at a curing temperature of 150 °C. The TGA curves confirmed no weight loss at 150 °C (Figure. 4). Moreover, the FTIR spectrum of the thin films cured at 150 °C also supported the existence of the ligand molecules OA and BET with high intensity peaks of the alkyl group Csp3 H and carboxylate group COO (Figures 5(a) and 5(b)). Therefore, The µ increased after the ligand exchange process because of the decrease ligand length from OA (1.97 nm) to BET (0.48 nm). The µ of In2O3 OA NC and In2O3 BET NC thin films increased by 2 4 orders of magnitude with increasing annealing temperatures from 150 °C to 350 °C, at which the OA or BET ligands decomposed as discussed in the TGA (Figure 4) and FTIR results (Figures 5(a) and 5(b)). Specially, the highest mobility obtained in this study are 4.1 cm2V 1s 1 for the In2O3 BET NC TFT annealed at 350 °C. This can be explained by thermal decomposition of the organic ligands OA or BET on the NC surface, decreasing the d between the neighboring nanocrystals with increasing annealing temperatures [15]. This was further supported by investigating the crystalline domain sizes of the NCs from the XRD pattern of the thin films (in the supplementary information). The crystalline domain sizes were not significantly affected by the annealing temperature, indicating that the In2O3 NC thin films still consisted of an assembly of the single crystalline NCs [15]. Temperature dependence of In2O3 NC TFT devices To know the charge transport mechanism, the relationship between the mobility and temperature was investigated. • 13. Competition And Sustainability For Reducing Production Costs Competition and sustainability in the third party IT contracting industry in the United States are driven by economic factors such as outsourcing, globalization, mergers, and acquisitions (Rose Anderssen, Baldwin, Ridgway, 2011). In turn, these factors shape and transform third party IT contracting companies (Jancikova Brychta, 2009). IT outsourcing (ITO) is a business solution for reducing production costs (Desar McGee, 2010). This approach is used frequently in the operation of call centers to provide customer service. Representatives of most IT companies, particularly call centers, use cloud computing software to allow connectivity and sharing of resources in company data centers (Beverakis, Dick, Cecez Kecmanovic, 2009). Cloud computing software is an advanced tool used in outsourcing, particularly for communications, because of the capacity to collect and access massive amounts of data. This software is commonly operated in a data center, which allows access to associated data in a variety of ways (Anthes, 2010). Because most call centers operate using cloud computing, third party IT contracting security is a primary concern (Anthes, 2010; Gatewood, 2009). During the 1980s and 90s, outsourcing organizational activities became the standard for many organizations (Kahai et al., 2011). Outsourcing, as a part of an organization s overall strategic plan, has been effective in helping achieve organizational goals and objectives (Kahai et al., 2011). Currently, many organizations incorporate outsourcing into the strategic plan, and this trend will probably increase in the future (Heikkila Heikkila, 2010). • 25. The Apology And Phaedo By Socrates In the Apology and Phaedo, as Socrates prepares to die his friends are concerned about him and why he does not fear death, but rather looks forward to this. Plato through Socrates makes this statement of his beliefs of death and what lies beyond this final barrier of consciousness. Plato believes that we live on through our souls and into another body. Socrates faces death with excitement because in his eyes to die is to practice perfect philosophy. This comes from his Argument of Opposites and the Theory of Forms. As we discussed previously Theory of Forms, states that everything in the world fits into two categories, the abstract universals, things such as beauty itself, equality itself, and piety itself and the second category is concrete particulars, things that exist in space and time, such as sunsets, music, and people. However Socrates derives his confidence from a combination of the argument of opposites and the theory of forms. This Argument from the Theory of Forms for the immortality of the soul: If we assume the theory of forms is true, and there is a form of Life itself, then souls are the sources of life because they participate in the form of life, then souls cannot participate in the opposing form of life, death, at the same time, if the principle of non contradiction is true. Now since death is the opposite of life, souls can t participate in it, therefore souls are immortal. Socrates makes these claims to comfort his friends and followers who are concerned ... When the energy level is low, and the nutrient reservoir (adipose tissue) is triggered. When the brain is low on glucose (glucoprivation), or the body is low on fatty acids (liporivation), it activates the hunger cycle. However, there are other factors involved in hunger. Environmental factors (senses), which may signal hunger even when an individual was not hungry. The five senses (smell, taste, sight, and sound) contribute to the feelings of hunger. A stomach growling is a signal for a food, or even thirst. The body requires a certain amount of nutrients (carbohydrates, fats, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals) in order to survive. Metabolism is the chemical course in the body to keep it alive. There are two phases in metabolism, the absorption phase, and the fasting phase. Well unfortunately studies proven by scientist at the institute in Paris Santé et de la Recherche Médication found that the brain splits into two, basically splitting the attention. It was said that at the most someone can do two things at once depending on the ease of the tasks. The reason being for this is due to the two frontal lobes of the brain designed to help someone with tasks. Intro of subject/issue: Through people may think may think well i can do my homework, check my phone, and listen to some dance music all at the same time , but the ease of turning on a screen, pressing play on the screen while looking at notifications, also while reading and writing doesn t compare to driving a car while checking the phone. The Military Decision Making Process Essay The Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) is an analytical and deliberate process that commanders follow using seven steps that includes the receipt of the mission, mission analysis, course of action development, course of action analysis, course of action comparison, course of action approval and orders production. The MDMP gives leaders a thorough process to follow that provides clarity and synchronization for operations even under time constrained environments. We need an Army that is trained on making decisions, able to anticipate needs and able to be proactive in accomplishing tasks even when unexpected duties arise. The MDMP sets the Army up for success in getting to this point. Without the MDMP, leaders will struggle to make crucial decisions and they will certainly struggle to make them under pressure during time sensitive missions. Not just our own history but the history of other countries has shown that running military operations without planning properly can result in inconceivable losses. At the National Defense Executive Reserve Conference on November 14, 1957, Dwight D. Eisenhower was quoted as stating: I heard long ago in the Army: plans are worthless, but planning is everything. The MDMP is a single, established, and proven analytical process (US Department of the Army, 1997). The process is crucial to our success not just because of the course of action (COA) developed out of it but more so because of what we learn out of the process along the way. ... In the Book Thief by Markus Zusak, Liesel Meminger s inability to halt her dangerous habits put her and others lives in dangerous situations. Three main examples of Liesel s dangerous activities are when she steals books, when she demonstrates kindness at improper times, and when she disrespects others for her own selfish reasons. In all these examples, there is always one moment where Liesel places her or others in harm s way and narrowly escapes punishment. It was Max who was the one whipped by the soldiers because they saw Liesel hugging and talking to him. Max s life was placed in danger because Liesel thought she was being kind by talking to him. It is understandable that she wanted to communicate with Max after a long time of not seeing him, but the manner in which she conveyed her emotions to him was too obvious to the soldiers watching. Had Rudy not been quick on his feet to go and help her, she would ve been punished more for speaking with Max. In addition to the immediate damage done, other people who witnessed the situation would think that Liesel s family was sympathetic to Jews, something not considered good at that time. The long term consequences of Liesel s stubbornness to speak with Max set an even deeper impression to when Hans gave the bread to the Jews and therefore puts her and her family in more danger. • 35. The Portrayal Of Richard Kearney And The Negative Side Of... The atrocities of the Holocaust, along with the suffering of its victims, are spoken of in literary texts and shown in films. Can the Holocaust actually be represented ethically, in a way that honors the horrific suffering of the victims, and in a real sense, by either of these forms of narrative representations, especially film? Critics argue both sides of this question; some stating that the movie, Schindler s List, trivializes the Holocaust; whereas, others defend the film. This paper will look at both sides of this argument; the positive side of Richard Kearney and the negative side of Claude Lanzmann. In regards to one positive critique of the film, Schindler s List, Richard Kearney believes that fiction can actually serve to bring out a truth that otherwise remains concealed (Kearney, 2012). This belief came about, during a talk in Montreal, when a woman Holocaust survivor came up to Kearney and said, You know, I was one of the survivors. I was on Schindler s list. I was never able to return to the experience, never able to revisit it, never able to talk about it, never able to think about it, remember it, until I saw the film. And when I saw the fictional account played by fictional characters, I was then and only then able to identify with myself as a real victim. Her words led Kearney to see Schindler s List as a positive cinematic portrayal of the Holocaust because it took fiction for her to be able to experience it for the first time (Kearney, 2012). ... However, if you detach yourself from the physical world and emerge into the online world, you find that this just might actually be accurate in this realm. The World Wide Web has had so much to offer to us since the early 1990s, but with this comes controversy. Unleashed onto a plane of seemingly immeasurable freedom of anonymity, was the world ready for such responsibility? Since those early days when new emerging technology changed our lives immensely, have we at all become a better place, or have we bitten off more than we can chew, and doomed our human relations forever? Exploring these concepts are three in depth articles, including: Growing Up Tethered by Sherry Turkle, The Loneliness of the Interconnected by Charles Seife, and Cybersexism by Laurie Penny. Although it is thought that the Internet brings the world together, it actually does not help us politically, culturally, and economically like one would believe, as it makes us unable to be independent, isolates us from different points of view, and encourages real world violence against women and other minority groups. One of the overall concerns regarding easily accessible technology is our dependency on it.
