Argentina's energy transition goals aim to limit emissions to 359 MtCO2e by 2030 through productive transformation, ecosystem preservation, sustainable transport, and a circular economy. The commitment also pursues eradicating poverty through a just transition that addresses population needs and secures integrated sustainable development without burdening future generations. Argentina will focus on energy efficiency, natural gas as a transition fuel, new nuclear/hydro power plants, hydrogen production, and renewable energies/distributed generation by 2030. Guiding principles for the transition include sustainability, equity, participation, and innovation to achieve stable, federal, sovereign, dynamic, and inclusive energy access promoting energy security and minimizing inequalities.
