Ludwig van Beethoven, was born December 17, 1770, archbishopric of Cologne Germany kicked the

transitional period between the Classical and Romantic times.
Generally viewed as the best author who at any point lived, Ludwig van Beethoven overwhelming

Established in the Classical customs of Joseph Haydn and Mozart, his craft connects with including
the new soul of humanism and beginning patriotism communicated in progress of Goethe and
Friedrich von Schiller, his senior peers in the realm of writing; the stringently re imagined moral
objectives of Kant; and the standards of the French Revolution, with its energetic worry for the

The Big Time College Sports
In this era of big time college sports, it seems the main focus of Division I athletics evolves around the
money that schools and conferences make through different deals. These deals typically involve
television rights for individual conferences with major television networks. Currently the NCAA has a
14 year, $11 billion TV deal with CBS and Turner Broadcasting for the NCAA basketball Tournament,
and this upcoming year ESPN will pay around $470 million to broadcast the new college football
playoffs. The majority of this money is streamed to a teams athletic departments via their respective
conference. The largest percentage of this money goes to teams that perform well on the field and on
the court. Therefore the size of a school s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Followed closely behind is the ACC at $240 million, the Big 12 at $220 million, and lastly the SEC at
$205 million (the SEC Network that launched this past August should eventually launch the
conference to the top of this list) (Smith). Each conference s deal differs, so I will look at each
individually conference. The first and most profitable one is the Big Ten.
Big Ten
The Big Ten is known as the conference where the money is. Year in and year out the Big Ten has the
highest revenues. This can be credited to the prospering Big Ten Network. The Big Ten the first major
conference with their own network, most major conferences have now established a conference
affiliated network. The conference s revenues are expected to grow annually, and 12 of 14 Big Ten
schools are expected to gain $44.5 million during the 2017 18 year, the first year of a new television
deal (the two schools that are not projecting these numbers are Maryland and Rutgers which just
officially joined the conference this past summer and can not receive their full share until 2020 21).
Along with their Big Ten network deal, the conference also has a 10 year TV rights deal with ESPN
worth close to $1 billion that will be expiring in 2016 2017. While negotiations have begun to renew
this contract, it is likely that Fox will become a

The Sun Has Long Since The Darkness Of The Night
The sun had long since made its way across hemisphere, dipping behind the mountains. There was no
moon tonight, and what light there is, was swallowed up in the darkness of the night, although
watching a sunset was the last thing on my mind tonight.
I felt unsettle as I strode up to the corner bar, located in a neighborhood I would never be caught in
during the day, yet alone in the dead of night, and though I have been watching it for weeks now,
always from the shadows and keeping my distance. Tonight purpose drove me forward.
Pushing the large aged wooden entryway open took more strength than I expected, yet finally giving

I sat, sipping my Stoli and waited, still nursing my first shot, keeping the second for... breaking the

Logistics and Phyical Distribution
An organization focuses on many aspects and strategies that address customers needs and wants. The
organization develops a product that includes many steps such as, product life cycle, type of brand,
packaging and labeling, but the final step is how to have their product accessible to the consumer,
which is distribution. A distribution channel is the path where products, including their ownership,
flow from producer to consumer. There are many paths an organization can choose to send their
product. Physical distribution is the actual movement of products from a producer to consumers.
When an organization decides on what distribution channel to use, it creates the final link in the
supply chain. A supply chain is the complete order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Distribution costs and time is also another factor that the economy plays part it. Because of the
requirements of modern distribution, the issue of time is becoming increasingly important in the
management of commodity chains. Time is a major issue for freight shipping as it imposes inventory
holding and depreciation costs, which becomes sensitive for tightly integrated supply chains (Dr. Jean
Paul Rodrique and Dr. Markus Hesse, Logistics and Freight Distribution, 12/30/2007,
http://people.hofstra.edu/geotrans/eng/ch5en/conc5en/cn5c4en.html, accessed on April 15, 2008).
While the costs of fuel increases, more and more logistic buyers are taking this opportunity to
negotiate and renegotiate lower base rate increases with carriers such as less than truckload (LTL).
The market is also giving advantages to logistics to negotiate with carriers on fuel surcharges
schedules and caps, expecting a longer term benefit if fuel prices continue to increase. A Bears Stearns
analysts quoted, We have heard from both shippers and carriers that the carriers are having more
difficulty passing through fuel costs as shippers are increasingly negotiating lower surcharge
schedules or capping their existing fuel surcharges, lowering overall pricing in both short term and
long term. While trucking rates continue to stay low as their demand is low, high fuel prices and
overcapacity remain big problems. With this in mind, many buyers are interested in other options such
as rail

Gertrude s Treatment Of Women In Hamlet
The role and treatment of women throughout Hamlet causes the play to come across as misogynistic
and outdated. There are only two women introduced to the audience in the play, one being the
incestuous Gertrude and the other, naïve and weak Ophelia. Hamlet, having felt betrayed by his
Mother, becomes cynical about all women in general. He becomes obsessed with female sexuality, and
the obsolete idea that women should remain pure until marriage. Shakespeare portrays women as
weak and dirty creatures that men should be weary of, however easy it may be to manipulate them.
In Hamlet s agony over his father s death, he feels betrayed by Gertrude due to the fact that instead of
offering comfort she re marries to Hamlets uncle. The audience becomes

U.S Slavery History and North Korean Life
Slavery was, and is, the mistreatment of people as property. Slavery in British colonies dates all the
way back to 1619 when African Americans first arrived in Jamestown, Virginia. As soon as the
African Americans arrived they were no longer considered to be human . Slaves were property;
therefore they could be traded and sold. Slaves were cruelly whipped if they did something their
master did not approve of. Some slave owners were so violent that they whipped their slaves until they
bled and then they would rub salt into the wounds. Morosely, slaves were so horribly mistreated, some
chose to take their own lives over continuing to be a slave. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln issued the
Emancipation Proclamation which ended slavery once and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The North was extremely hard. Many houses were 10 to 20 miles apart, which meant slaves had to
move fast! Harriet Tubman helped 300 slaves achieve freedom within 19 trips. North Korea also has a
very helpful underground railroad. The North Korean Underground Railroad is a horrendous path
across China that leads to South Korea. It is a treacherous path because China sends about 200 North
Korean refugees back to North Korea each day. As soon as North Koreans are sent back, they either
end up in jail, in a prison camp or are killed. Similar to white people helping African American slaves
escape to freedom, many Chinese and South Korean people try and help North Koreans escape as
well. China does not want refugees to live in their country. Surprisingly, 300 thousand North Korean
refugees live in China because they managed to escape. Along the dangerous journey through China,
there are houses and helpers for those escaping North Korea. It is a shame that some people and
countries are afraid to help North Koreans because of all the powerful weapons that North Korea has
acquired. In conclusion, underground railroads have helped, and still are, helping many individuals
and families have a better life. Thankfully, as soon as slaves reached Canada, or any free Northern U.S
state, they were completely free. A few slaves feared that their owner was

The Value of Annual Screening Breast Exam and Its New Development
My mom makes herself go for a mammogram every year. The same as many other women, she doesn
t like it because the pain from the compression technique of the machine and the schedule is not very
nice sometimes. Despite the inconvenience, she trusts that the screening mammogram could save her
life from breast cancer. However, is the mammogram that valuable as a screening test? This question
has been a controversial issue since an annual screening mammography was recommended to women
above the age of 40. Recently, a vast study from Canada has casted doubts on the value of this
screening test again. Since it made headlines on newspapers and TV news on February, many
researchers have investigated and given opposing opinions on this Canadian study. Experts, including
the American Cancer Society and the American Radiology College, debunk this Canadian study and
strongly encourage women to continue their annual screening mammograms. Today, a development
version of mammography digital breast tomosynthesis is a promising technology that would improve
the quality of mammography. For a better healthy life, women should continue their annual breast
mammograms and request that the hospital use tomosynthesis technology to ensure the accuracy of
this crucial screening test.

Drones In The United States
The use of drones has brought an uproarious debate among both the people of the United States and
the people of the world regarding whether or not drones should be sold and used by the public. Drones
were first created for military use to scout and attack terrorists who plan to bring havoc to the United
States of America. Ever since the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, funding for the use of drones
sky rocketed because people came to the realization that there was a need to formulate different
methods of security and defense. Besides the use of security and defense, people have been
developing new uses for drones. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently issuing rules
outlining how they can be used. Ever since drones have hit the shelves for consumers to buy, more and

Trends in the climate suggest that the United States is receiving less and less water each year. Other
states such as California are suffering under drought conditions and need new methods to conserve
water. With the use of drones, farmers can view their fields from up above to determine whether crops
need water. These flying devices can help contribute to water conservation in the west and possibly
bring multiple states out of long periods of drought. Additionally, drones can be used to scout fields
for insect infestation and crop diseases. Crop farmers can evaluate the economic risk from the
potential effects from infestation. The use of drones can make it easier for crop farmers to diagnose
the issue so that they can prevent too much damage so that they can maintain a profit. Coordinates can
be marked where this issue is evolving from and pesticides, herbicides, and different methods of
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) can be applied to the area. Drones can contribute to crop farming
and scouting by reducing valuable resources and prevent production loss and

Research Paper On William Shakespeare
What s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet? William
Shakespeare. He himself describes who he is with ease with an excerpt from his book, Twelfth Night.
People all around the world are familiar with Shakespeare. His plays and sonnets are read in
classrooms of all ages around the world. But how does Shakespeare relate back to the time period he
was from? As historians and readers, we know that Shakespeare gifted us with his words, plays, and
sonnets, as well as benefited the people of his time with entertainment from plays. But, could
Shakespeare have changed history with his work? Is it possible that Shakespeare was a pivotal
member of creating the humanist idea and expanding the Renaissance? Did Shakespeare change the
way people thought about religion during this time? Is Shakespeare responsible for inspiring
democracy and putting English mistakes on paper and thus preventing the fall of the United States?

comical play As You Like It: All the world s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: They

certain though, because a lot of information about Shakespeare s life is still unknown. As an introvert,
Shakespeare found himself often times alone. During his private time, he would write. Many people

Johnston Reflection
So, if i would have stayed at johnston i know i would not have graduated. When i first started at metro
i hated it. I hated everyone. I have a people problem and that is why i didn t do so good at johnston.
The first week i was here it was pretty rough. I didn t really get along with any of the other students
and at the time i really didn t want to get to know anyone because at the time i didn t like people. Later
on, i started to act different toward everybody. I actually started to talk and be social with the teachers
and the students. Everyday when i would come to school everybody was always so happy and excited
to see me. Whenever i would need help there was always someone to help me, no matter what. I
actually really enjoyed going to metro for as long as i did. Johnston really did suck. Like in all
honesty, johnston was not for me. Metro has done a lot for me in the past 3 years. They have acted like
a family to me and have cared about me when i was in dark spots of my life. All the teachers have
treated me like i was their own child. Everyone says there here at metro for a reason and that is not a
lie. Metro takes so many different kinds of kids that there is a very diverse group of us. Metro is a

High Index Lenses Research
High index lenses are made from a substance that refracts more light than traditional lenses. This
makes the lenses thinner and lighter.
The index of a lens is its ability to bend light efficiently. The higher the index, the less lens material is
required to bend the same amount of light. So if you have a higher index, you can have a thinner lens.
How do High Index Lenses Differ from Regular Lenses?
High index lenses are made of a material that is capable of bending light to a stronger degree than
indexes with a lower rating. Because of their ability to bend light more efficiently, high index lenses
have thinner edges than lenses with the same prescription power that are made of conventional plastic
material. Thinner edges require less lens

Do you agree with the view that the British Public’s...
Do you agree with the view that the British Public s enthusiasm for the Empire increased during the
Second Boer War (1899 1902)? Explain your answer using sources 4, 5, and 6 and your own
knowledge. The Second Boer War was a landmark in British imperial history because of its impact on
British politics, society and military tactics. The Second Boer War led to drastic reforms amongst the
military and amongst the people as the Conservative party was removed from power by the Liberal
party in the post war election of 1906. However, enthusiasm for the war at the time was quite high;
patriotism amongst the British was a cause of much of the support the government at the time received
during the war. But did it increase or decrease, and why? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This lack of support became apparent in the 1906 general election in which the Conservative
government (Whom had been in control of the Empire during the Boer War.) was ousted in a landslide
defeat by the Liberal party. This was mainly because of the war and the effects it had on Britain. The
public had been outraged at British tactics during the Second Boer War. Especially that of
concentration camps, scorched earth tactics, the poisoning of wells and the burning of Boer
homesteads. Therefore, the transition from a conventional to a guerrilla war caused a loss in
enthusiasm amongst the British people for the Second Boer war. In conclusion, I somewhat agree that
enthusiasm for the Empire increased during the Second Boer War, however, I only believe that
enthusiasm increased as the early stages of the war progressed, but as soon as it transitioned from a
conventional war to a guerrilla war, enthusiasm decreased as casualties and costs increased along with
the brutal tactics used by the British in their attempts to combat the Boers strategy. The loss of
enthusiasm can be attributed to other things, for example, the discovery that 40% of Britons were unfit
for military service revealed how poor public health in Britain was at the time and how the laissez
faire attitude of the Conservative government contributed to it. But overall I believe that the loss of
enthusiasm can mainly be attributed to the actual war

Comparing The Next War And The Charge Of The Light Brigade
The Next War is a poem by Wilfred Owen written during World War One, and The Charge of the
Light Brigade is a poem written during the Crimean War based on a charge in which misinterpreted
orders led to over 150 of 600 killed or wounded. The two poems hold different ideas, techniques and
themes. The main themes presented in both poems revolve around the subject of death, common
techniques such as personification and imagery are used to enhance our understanding of the war
against Death. Owen and Tennyson also share contrasting ideas on a soldiers will to fight which is
expressed in these poems. The differences and similarities between the two poems show the audience
the reality of a soldier s mind when at war.

other men for flags (being their countries), but they fight against Death, in order to save the lives of
their brothers. In The Charge of the Light Brigade, Tennyson tells the audience to Honour the charge
they made! Honour the Light Brigade, Noble six hundred! (lines 48 50). He has used words such as
honour and noble to support their actions in following misinterpreted and unreasonable orders in
which he reasons, Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do die (lines 13

Parental Loss At A Young Age
Introduction
Parental loss at a young age has been linked to heightened risk of psychological problems in
adulthood, especially depression and lower self confidence (Mack, 2001; Mireault Bond, 1992; Saler
Skolnick, 1992*) It has also been linked to several different health conditions including chronic pain,
hypertension, heart disease, and immune disorders (Luekin Lemery, 2004; McEwen Seeman, 2006).
The way a child grieves over a lost parent shapes the way that information is interpreted and stored in
the brain as well (Lupien, Ouellet Morin, Hupbach, Tu, Buss, Walker, et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002)
and it can influence whether or not life events are defined as stressful (Lupien et al., 2006). Studies
conducted concerning childhood bereavement suggest that early parental loss can lead to the
development of poorly regulated neuro emotional response systems (Brotman, Gouley, Klein,
Castellanos Pine, 2003) and the alteration of brain structures that help with memory and cognitive
functioning (Lupien et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002). Because of the impact of the loss, often times,
children need help to recover from the loss of their parent. There have been several studies conducted
on effective interventions and strategies when it comes to helping a child grieve and recover from the
loss of their loved one.
Stages of Grief and the Grieving Process
Grieving children commonly pass through five different stages of grief, although they do not follow a
particular pattern

Causes Of Tension In Colonial America
Colonial America in the seventeenth century become very independent from England, this caused
tensions politically, socially, religiously and economically. The tensions did not automatically take
place; however, things that weren t considered issues previously became amplified problems as
England tried to tighten their control over the colonies. Having the tensions of social and economic
growth it lead to the Salem Witch trials that occurred in Massachusetts. There was a great amount of
independent growth throughout colonial America, tensions definitely rose as colonial America refused
to allow England to have full control. A major part of the independent growth was the legal system
that America had formed. While they adopted many of the essential elements of the English legal
system, they had major differences in the American legal system (Brinkley, 2012). For example,
punishment was different from England s, instead of prison or the gallows, the Americans took a
different route. The forms of punishment in colonial America was whipping posts, branding iron,
stocks, and the ducking stool (Brinkley, 2012). The colonists thought of law as reflection the divine
will or as a result of natural order, not as an expression of power (Brinkley, 2012). Another growth of
independence was politics in America. The Americans created groups of self government which was
very local and not dependent on the English (Brinkley, 2012). This was not much of an issue for a

Making Yeast Doughs
There are four basic ingredients used in making yeast doughs flour, water, yeast and salt. Lean doughs
contain these four, with or without addition of little sugar or fat. So how come there are so many kinds
of different breads: crunchy baguette, chewy bagel, soft rolls...? Proper manipulation of these same
ingredients can result with large variety of breads. If you add some more fat, sugar and eggs to this
mixture, you will make enriched yeast dough. Making Yeast Doughs There are nine basic steps in
making yeast dough: 1. Scaling the Ingredients It is important to measure ingredients accurately and it
is preferable to have them at the proper temperature. All ingredients combined and well kneaded
should reach 25ºC. The amount of flour may vary depending on the humidity level and the amount of
protein in the flour. Flour with more protein will absorb more water. 2. Mixing and Kneading the
Dough The yeast dough must be kneaded properly so the ingredients are combined uniformly and the
gluten is developed. There are several methods of mixing the yeast dough. Straight Dough Method is
the simplest and the most common method of mixing yeast dough. Yeast is firs dissolved in water, and
then it is added to flour and salt mixture. After that dough id kneaded until smooth and elastic. Sponge
Method has two stages. First yeast, liquid and half of flour is mixed to make a thick batter sponge (Fr.
poolisch). The sponge is then left to rise until doubled in size. After that

Cinematography Analysis Of Polanski s Chinatown
Cinematography Analysis in Chinatown
Chinatown is based on Roman Polanski s lifeworks. Polanski s goal is to emphasizes the meaning of
how cinematography is made, and how it inspires by understanding the concept of setting, lighting,
and how the image is captured. This film was released in 1974 by director of Roman Polanski to focus
on private investigator J.J. Gittes, played by Jack Nicholson to investigate the elements behind the
truth. Polanski s goal is to emphasize the audience to give an ominous feeling of the main character,
J.J. Gittes and his point of view by showing in color instead of black and white pictures. Due to these
reasons, Polanski wanted to use Panavision to give a flawed vision about the past, which the story is
set in the years of 1937. Polanski states, a traditional detective story with a new, modern shape for
Paramount picture. (1) This paper focuses on the film Chinatown which is neo noir, not only because
of the setting, but the concept of cinematography that connects duplicates occurrences together that
describe three categories: background of the cinematographer, point of view of the main character, and
the interpretation of the ending scenes.
First of all, Roman Polanski hired John A. Alonzo as the Director of Photography for Chinatown.
Therefore, Alonzo was well known for his notable works, as Director of Photography position after
Chinatown s successful film is Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Scarface, and Star Trek:

The Evolution of Primate Locomotion and Body Configuration
Primates first evolved from the trees of tropical forests, later to the ground. Through the times of

climatic changes over time. For the primates existed at that time had to adjust itself especially in body

There are five tarsier species that all live in the islands of Southeast Asia, where they inhabit from

lemurs and lorises (prosimian family) for the several traits that they share with Grade I primates while
having some anthropoid features as well. However, tarsiers have distinctive characteristics that isolate
them from other primates. They are categorized as the smallest creatures among the primate species

nocturnal insectivores but sometimes carnivorous. They catch insects by jumping at them and as they

Creative Writing On Nursing Home
The Bright Spot in My Day One morning bright and early, I went to the nursing home near my home
to do a community service project. The plan was for me to meet Ms. Clara Mae who is a resident
there. My expectations for the day were not the best, I dreaded the smell of being in a nursing home.
As I approached room 406, I noticed a faint lemon smell that floated around the hall. I cautiously
tapped on her wooden door and noticed a festive, fall wreath hanging crookedly by her mailbox. Ms.
Clara Mae? A small tinkling voice called out, Come in! As I entered her room, I noticed lemon yellow

told me that she normally took a nap before lunch. That was my cue that I must move on to visit the
other residents in the activity/recreation area. The scent of lemon wafted over to me once again, and I
realized that she had an air freshener plug in the wall nearest the window. Evidently, she did not like
the smell of nursing homes either. It suddenly hit me that she could be me in the future! She had a
similar story like me, she liked some of the same things I did, and she had a great sense of humor. All
Ms. Clara Mae needed was someone to listen to her and a little companionship. I had learned that her
family no longer visited her anymore and the only people that saw her on a routine basis was a group
that came from a church once a month. How sad! I felt connected to her and it crushed me to leave
her. She seemed to understand and reassured me that she knew I was busy and had lots of things to do.
As I stood to walk out of the yellow room, with the one plant and no electronics, I made a pledge that
I would try to be someone that she could rely on to come visit. Then I sadly realized that I would not

The Solubility And Temperature Of Ammonium Nitrate
The Solubility and Temperature Experiment was performed to find the relationship between the

76.5 Based on the data, solubility of Potassium Nitrate and temperature are directly proportional. This
is indicated in the results of the experiment because as the amount of solute in the solution increases,
the solubility of the solution increases. As the solubility increases, the temperature also increases,
meaning that the relationship is directly proportional. Most of the fish death occurred in the month of
December, when water temperature was relatively cold compared to other months in the year. Because
it was experimentally determined that solubility and temperature is directly proportional, if the water
temperature is low, this means that the solubility is also low. By analyzing the solubility curves of
Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium Phosphate, it can be concluded that enough Ammonium Nitrate
or Ammonium Phosphate can be dissolved in the river water during December that would be
dangerous to the fish.
However, by looking at the data of the Nitrate and Phosphate Concentrations in the White River

An Effective Power Of Attorney
#1 Ineffective Power of Attorney
Whether one has an effective Durable Power of Attorney document can mean the difference between
having a trusted person handle all of your affairs, in a manner that you would yourself if you could,
versus having to endure a costly Guardianship proceeding. Therefore, having an effective power of
attorney can be crucial. Keep in mind that all Power of Attorney documents are not the same.
In fact, even if you have a Durable Power of Attorney, you will want to make sure it has sufficient
language so that your Agent can indeed administer all your affairs without the need of judicial
intervention. In other words, by having a custom Power of Attorney document that meets all your
needs, you could save thousands of dollars by avoiding Guardianship Court.
#2 No Backup
So you have found your trusted person to act for you if you are unable. Perhaps you have chosen your

person you named is unable to act for you? For couples, they will often name a trusted adult child as a

The Castle Of Otranto And Romance Of The Forest Analysis
Romantic literature is very well known for its extensive use of imagery to express different themes

expectations thrust upon women in the 1700 s in a different and rather terrifying light than was seen at
that time. Romance of the Forest is also a Romantic Era story, created by Ann Radcliffe, which tells
the story of a woman who discovers a terrifying secret that exists just on the other side of her bedroom

Unit 9 And Systems Theory And Social Construction
Unit 9 Cybernetics and Social Construction Cybernetics/systems theory and social constructionism are
two closely related philosophical traditions that inform family therapy approaches (Gehart, p. 37,
2014). They are the foundation to the various family therapy models used by Marriage and Family
Therapist. All forms of family therapy, in one way or another has been influenced by one of these two
theories. More traditional forms of therapy such as MRI, Milan and Bowen s intergenerational and
psychoanalytic therapy have been influenced by cybernetics/systems theory. Newer therapies such as
narrative, collaborative and solution based therapies have been influenced by social constructionist
theory (Gehart, 2014).

The Patent Of Patent And Its General Applications
Patent is an exclusive rights that uses to protect intellectual property rights. In recent years, with the
development of electronic technology and the widespread use of electronic platforms, software patents
has become a hot topic that frequently discussed by the public. To a certain extent, the patent brought
many exclusive economic rights to the product inventors; the inventors can get a lot of additional
economic benefits with their product patent, especially in terms of software patent. However, on the
other hand, the negative effects of patents also should not be underestimated, such as it might obstruct
creativity, and it might cause an unnecessary litigation in order to compete the patent. Compared to the
positive effects of the patent, the negative effects of the patent seems to be more prominent. This essay
will discuss the usefulness and the harmfulness of patent from three parts. In the first part, the essay
will briefly discuss the concept of the patent and its general applications. Then, it will analyze the
disadvantages of patent. Finally, the essay will explore the effective solution for the vicious
competition of patent.
DEFINITION AND EXAMPLE
The patent is a very fuzzy concept. In general, it can be understood as an exclusive economic rights;
the inventors obtain substantial economic benefits from their invention patent. However, more people

The Prince vs. Henry V Essay
The Prince vs. Henry V A comparison of attributes After reading Machiavelli s The Prince and
watching Shakespeare s Henry V in class, one begins to notice similarities between the authors idea of
what a perfect king should be. The patterns between the ideal ruler of Shakespeare and the ideal ruler
of Machiavelli can be seen in numerous instances throughout this story. For the duration of this essay,
I will compare the similarities in both pieces to give the reader a better understanding of how
Shakespeare devised his view of what a perfect king should be. One can see an example while looking
back on Henry s youthful experiences. Before taking oath as king, Henry was involved with some

While speaking to the governor, Henry literally scares the people of Harfleur into submission and
gains entry to the city without further fighting. This shows a definite similarity in what Machiavelli
and Shakespeare view in their leader. As a king, Henry becomes known for being a man of resilience,
strategy, and combat. These traits, according to Machiavelli, are necessary to become the ideal king.
As stated by Machiavelli, ...a prince ought to have no other aim or thought, nor select anything else for
his study, than war and its rules and discipline; for this is the sole art that belongs to him who rules.
(Machiavelli) This can be seen when the Dauphin presents Henry with a gift of tennis balls and an
insulting speech practically telling him to stay out of grown men s affairs. This gives Henry the
leverage he needs to start a war with France without looking like the instigator. He can now put the
blame of war on the Dauphin and the many lives of whom will be killed. Henry uses this to move
toward his strength and show his full potential. Another example can be seen when Henry has to hang
Bardolph for plundering during the invasion of France. Years earlier, while drinking in the tavern,
Bardolph had asked Prince Henry this question, Do not thou, when thou art king, hang a thief? Prince
Henry replied, No, thou

The Importance Of Globalization
Globalization has been in a toss up on the valuableness of its control and how it benefits the world.
Many views have come up due to the advancement of the world collectively, some believe it has only
benefited society has a whole while others say it has brought only destruction to the social and cultural
aspects. Two professors at highly ranked universities discuss their views on Globalization and how it
has influenced the world. Globalization has greatly impacted the world through its social relations
through culture. Amartya Sen at Harvard University expresses his views on Globalization through the
spread of intellectual ideas and how it takes one great idea to spread across the globe.
Amartya Sen has a positive outtake on the developing nature on Globalization. He believes the rise in
Globalization in the past years as brought a new standard of living through social correlations. In an
example to prove Globalization has benefited the people he uses the history of mathematics, In his
history of mathematics, Howard Eves explains that around 1150 A.D., Gherardo of Cremona, in his
translations from the Arabic, rendered jaib as the Latin sinus, the corresponding word for a cove or a
bay. (Sen 2012, 18). Math is one language that is the same in any country across the globe, Sen was
referring to the concept sine and how it was created in India, but developed in other countries. It was
not just one country who came up with the concept of math. In his book, he shows how Indian

Pharmacist Application
The role of pharmacist is rapidly growing. With the advent of SB 493, pharmacist in California has
officially gained provider status. Their roles are no longer limited to dispensing medications and
counseling. The development of the Advance Practice Pharmacy certification has expanded the scope
of pharmacy practice. With the proper trainer and certifications, pharmacist can now assess patient
health care along with their provider resulting in a cohesive treatment. This change to pharmacy
motivates me to be part of that field, but I did not start out on a path to pharmacy at first.
I started college as a math major with the goal of becoming a teacher. I had a strong desire to teach but
eventually switch to pre pharmacy. I wanted myself to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My long term goal is to offer pharmacy services to minorities who may not fully understand what a

is a lack of communication due to language and cultural beliefs. My family who are Hmong,

Hmong families still practice their own form spiritual medicine such as shamanism. Because of their

Organizational Theories Of Change Within Human Organizations
Introduction An Organizations ability to survive and manage change has become increasingly
important in an environment where globalization and competition are more intensifying. In the mid
20th century there has been increased attempts that apply to an organizational s theories of change
within human organizations. The first theory is concerned only with stability and equilibrium and the
control of negativity or feedback. Cao and Mchugh s (2005) system views many organizations as
interacting within the environment. The orgazational environment is set up of relationships that relate
to stakeholders or agents that factor beyond an organizations control. In dealing with a phenomena
comples, the syaste no longer sees the concept adequate.
This has led to the new theory which focuses on non equilibrium, instability and the emergence of
new structures and patterns. Systems are considered self organizing or evolving in the complexity
paradigm. Contemporary organizations are pervasive with change and interdepencies can be either
drawn between the public or private sectors where similar environmental challenges. Many of these
changes have taken place in the economic and political environment. In order to help understand the
changes the better the management process more effectively, a more comprehensive and dynamic
change of management is suggested. By intergrating systems theories, complexity, the fluid process of
organizational change and the disruptive, organizational change

The Pros And Cons Of The CIA
The CIA, otherwise known as the Central Intelligence Agency, is a federal agency that is independent
and has the responsibilities of providing the country of the United States with national security
intelligence. The CIA is in charge of gathering information that is going on from other countries in
order to help our own national security to become stronger, and to be able to protect the citizens of the
United States better. However, what happens when the CIA tries to protect it s citizens by screwing
over other countries? What happens when the CIA is responsible for destroying other countries
governments or placing leaders where we do not belong as a country to try and control politics that we
should not even be involving ourselves in. While the CIA is meant to have good intentions for
providing our country with national security, a lot of times the United States is responsible for
meddling in affairs we never belonged in which cause harm, devastation, or death to the countries we
force ourselves upon. In early 1951, the nationalization of Iran s oil industry by Mosaddegh was the
trigger for the United Kingdom to begin discussion with the United States to overthrow Mosaddegh
and return the power to the shah. When the coup attempt was thwarted, the CIA decided to call off
continuing with the operation because they did not want it to get traced back to the United States.
However, Kermit Roosevelt believed that the United States should not be done interfering with Iran,

Urban Alienation in Ian McEwan s The Cement Garden Essay
Urban Alienation in Ian McEwan s The Cement Garden
It was not at all clear to me now why we had put her in the trunk in the first place. At the time it had
been obvious, to keep the family together. Was that a good reason? It might have been more
interesting to be apart. Nor could I think whether what we had done was an ordinary thing to do
In this essay I shall be examining the socio cultural context of The Cement Garden by Ian McEwan
(1948 ). Once placed within context, an examination of the internal worlds of the bereaved children
will follow. Attention is given to events from the perspective of Jack, the adolescent narrator and an
exploration is made of how the individual interior world of each child fuses into the others and ...

(p.9)
McEwan thus catapults the reader directly into the tormented mental world of Jack. We then only
observe the external world of Jack and his siblings from his single viewpoint. All is filtered through
his lonely and questionable perception. McEwan thus leaves it to the reader to analyse the action of
the novel from the filter of Jack s naïve, twisted but prevailing perspective. This creates a sense of the
claustrophobia that pervades the boy s world. The discomfort that readers feel parallels and prepares
them for Jack s anguished, alienated and contained inner world. The family, even before the parents
death, is divided within itself and isolated from other people. Thus Jack s lonely voice lends the
narration an air of obsessive and unhealthy emphasis on the very factors that create, generate and
sustain the isolated obsessions dominating this family.
The writer s concentrated narrative makes the cultural and social location of the family difficult to
determine. We know they are disassociated from mainstream society as a family unit, but individually
they attend work and school, so what makes them different as a group, and in what way is the family
different from wider society? We are told that they are a white family living on the decayed outskirts
of an unnamed British city. We are not told the father s occupation, but we

A Study Of Bitopological Spaces
Abstract. In 1995, A.A. Nasef and T. Noiri [6] introduced the notion of strongly
 irresolute functions. In the present paper, we generalize this notion to the setting of bitopological
spaces and obtain some characterizations and properties of pairwise strongly semi preirresolute
functions.
AMS Mathematics Subject Classifications (2010): 54E55, 54A05, 54C10, 54D05.
Key words and phrases: semi preopen, (i, j) semi preopen, semi preirresolute, pairwise strongly semi
preirresolute.
1. Introduction and preliminaries
The study of bitopological spaces was initiated by Kelly [4] in 1963. Abd ElMonsef et al. [1]
introduced the notion of
 open sets and
 continuity in topological spaces. On the other hand, Andrijevic [2] called
 open sets semipreopen and obtained many properties of such subsets. Recently, Khedr et al. [5]
have investigated the notions of semi preopen sets and semi precontinuity in bitopological spaces. In
1995, Nasef and Noiri [6] defined and studied the concept of strongly
 irresolute functions. The purpose of the present paper is to extend the concept of strongly 
irresoluteness to the setting of bitopological spaces.
Throughout the present paper, (X, 1, 2) and (Y, 1, 2) always mean bitopological spaces. For a
subset A of a space X, i c1(A) (resp. i int(A)) denotes the closure (resp. interior) of A with respect
to i
, for i = 1,2. However, i c1(A) and
i int(A) are briefly denoted by c1i(A) and inti(A), respectively, if there is no possibility of

Essay On Puritan Theology
Puritan Theology
Puritans always had very strict beliefs.Among these beliefs the puritans thought sin should not be
expressed and a sinner should be shamed, hell is the single most terrifying thing so they instilled fear
to get people to convert, and they are the city on a hill so they should lead by example and be the best.
In the sermons Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, A Model of Christian Charity, and a Sermon
Preached by Samson Occom the authors talk about some of these puritan beliefs.
Puritans thought of themselves as the elect . The elect is a group of people who were predestined to be
saved by God. John Winthrop knows that the puritans believe that and plays it to his advantage. He

He directly states the eyes of all people are upon us. Thus giving the puritans validation. He say this to
win the over and get them to see his side by telling something they already believe. He used the
puritan theology to prove his point. Another major aspect of puritan theology is the fear they instilled
into the public. They always made hell seem so atrocious (as they should have). They did this to get
people to convert to their religion. Edwards plays with idea, almost like Winthrop did, to establish fear
to get the puritans to confess and be saved. One quote that really stood out was,
The wrath of God burns against them; their damnation does not slumber; the pit is prepared; the fire is
made ready; the furnace is now hot; ready to receive them; the flames do now rage and glow. The
glittering sword is whet and held over them, and the pit hath opened her mouth under them. The devil
stands ready to fall upon them, and seize them as his own (Edwards

Chip Cards And Magnetic Stripe Cards
Chip Cards V.S. Magnetic Stripe Cards Nowadays, the use of cards is becoming more and more
frequent because of its convenience. And the technology provides the way to make cards become
more practical. Two most common types of cards that people use are chip cards and magnetic cards.
Both chip cards and magnetic stripe cards are broadly used all over the world in diverse areas of
people s life. However, chip cards and magnetic stripe cards are different from the security, function,
and the process of the transaction. The first difference between chip cards and magnetic stripe cards is
the security of the cards. Due to people put the data into the cards, the security of the cards is a serious
factor of the cards. Once the security is not reasonable that the data leaks out, the owner of the card
will suffer a large loss. The data includes the profile of a person, like the home and work addresses,
the phone number, and the most important element is the money that is in the credit cards and debit
cards. Basically, people pay the greatest attention to whether the money in the card is safe or not. Chip
card has high standard on the security. It is difficult to clone the information of the cards. And by now,
there are no examples of cloning the information on chip cards. According to one of the authorized
bank Chase, a chip provides an extra status of security to cards. It needs to produce one time code to
finish the process of the transaction. It protects cards from the illegal

The Big Time College Sports In this era of big time college sports, it seems the main focus of Division I athletics evolves around the money that schools and conferences make through different deals. These deals typically involve television rights for individual conferences with major television networks. Currently the NCAA has a 14 year, $11 billion TV deal with CBS and Turner Broadcasting for the NCAA basketball Tournament, and this upcoming year ESPN will pay around $470 million to broadcast the new college football playoffs. There are only two women introduced to the audience in the play, one being the incestuous Gertrude and the other, naïve and weak Ophelia. Slavery in British colonies dates all the way back to 1619 when African Americans first arrived in Jamestown, Virginia. As soon as the African Americans arrived they were no longer considered to be human . Slaves were property; therefore they could be traded and sold. Slaves were cruelly whipped if they did something their master did not approve of. Some slave owners were so violent that they whipped their slaves until they bled and then they would rub salt into the wounds. The North Korean Underground Railroad is a horrendous path across China that leads to South Korea. It is a treacherous path because China sends about 200 North Korean refugees back to North Korea each day. As soon as North Koreans are sent back, they either end up in jail, in a prison camp or are killed. Explain your answer using sources 4, 5, and 6 and your own knowledge. The Second Boer War was a landmark in British imperial history because of its impact on British politics, society and military tactics. The Second Boer War led to drastic reforms amongst the military and amongst the people as the Conservative party was removed from power by the Liberal party in the post war election of 1906. However, enthusiasm for the war at the time was quite high; patriotism amongst the British was a cause of much of the support the government at the time received during the war. But did it increase or decrease, and why? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This lack of support became apparent in the 1906 general election in which the Conservative government (Whom had been in control of the Empire during the Boer War.) was ousted in a landslide defeat by the Liberal party. This was mainly because of the war and the effects it had on Britain. The public had been outraged at British tactics during the Second Boer War. Especially that of concentration camps, scorched earth tactics, the poisoning of wells and the burning of Boer homesteads. Therefore, the transition from a conventional to a guerrilla war caused a loss in enthusiasm amongst the British people for the Second Boer war. In conclusion, I somewhat agree that enthusiasm for the Empire increased during the Second Boer War, however, I only believe that enthusiasm increased as the early stages of the war progressed, but as soon as it transitioned from a conventional war to a guerrilla war, enthusiasm decreased as casualties and costs increased along with the brutal tactics used by the British in their attempts to combat the Boers strategy. The loss of enthusiasm can be attributed to other things, for example, the discovery that 40% of Britons were unfit for military service revealed how poor public health in Britain was at the time and how the laissez faire attitude of the Conservative government contributed to it. Parental Loss At A Young Age Introduction Parental loss at a young age has been linked to heightened risk of psychological problems in adulthood, especially depression and lower self confidence (Mack, 2001; Mireault Bond, 1992; Saler Skolnick, 1992*) It has also been linked to several different health conditions including chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, and immune disorders (Luekin Lemery, 2004; McEwen Seeman, 2006). The way a child grieves over a lost parent shapes the way that information is interpreted and stored in the brain as well (Lupien, Ouellet Morin, Hupbach, Tu, Buss, Walker, et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002) and it can influence whether or not life events are defined as stressful (Lupien et al., 2006). Studies conducted concerning childhood bereavement suggest that early parental loss can lead to the development of poorly regulated neuro emotional response systems (Brotman, Gouley, Klein, Castellanos Pine, 2003) and the alteration of brain structures that help with memory and cognitive functioning (Lupien et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002). Because of the impact of the loss, often times, children need help to recover from the loss of their parent. Having the tensions of social and economic growth it lead to the Salem Witch trials that occurred in Massachusetts. There was a great amount of independent growth throughout colonial America, tensions definitely rose as colonial America refused to allow England to have full control. A major part of the independent growth was the legal system that America had formed. While they adopted many of the essential elements of the English legal system, they had major differences in the American legal system (Brinkley, 2012). For example, punishment was different from England s, instead of prison or the gallows, the Americans took a different route. The forms of punishment in colonial America was whipping posts, branding iron, stocks, and the ducking stool (Brinkley, 2012). The colonists thought of law as reflection the divine will or as a result of natural order, not as an expression of power (Brinkley, 2012). Another growth of independence was politics in America. Polanski s goal is to emphasizes the meaning of how cinematography is made, and how it inspires by understanding the concept of setting, lighting, and how the image is captured. This film was released in 1974 by director of Roman Polanski to focus on private investigator J.J. Gittes, played by Jack Nicholson to investigate the elements behind the truth. Polanski s goal is to emphasize the audience to give an ominous feeling of the main character, J.J. Gittes and his point of view by showing in color instead of black and white pictures. Due to these reasons, Polanski wanted to use Panavision to give a flawed vision about the past, which the story is set in the years of 1937. As I approached room 406, I noticed a faint lemon smell that floated around the hall. I cautiously tapped on her wooden door and noticed a festive, fall wreath hanging crookedly by her mailbox. The scent of lemon wafted over to me once again, and I realized that she had an air freshener plug in the wall nearest the window. Evidently, she did not like the smell of nursing homes either. This experiment was done to analyze the effect if water temperature on the amount of dissolved phosphates and nitrates in solution, which are two major pollutants that cause fish death. Below is the results of the experiment. Test Tube Mass (g) Temperature of Crystallization (°C) 2.0 34.1 4.0 47.9 6.0 59.5 8.0 76.5 Based on the data, solubility of Potassium Nitrate and temperature are directly proportional. This is indicated in the results of the experiment because as the amount of solute in the solution increases, the solubility of the solution increases. As the solubility increases, the temperature also increases, meaning that the relationship is directly proportional. Most of the fish death occurred in the month of December, when water temperature was relatively cold compared to other months in the year. Because it was experimentally determined that solubility and temperature is directly proportional, if the water temperature is low, this means that the solubility is also low. By analyzing the solubility curves of Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium Phosphate, it can be concluded that enough Ammonium Nitrate or Ammonium Phosphate can be dissolved in the river water during December that would be dangerous to the fish. Nor could I think whether what we had done was an ordinary thing to do In this essay I shall be examining the socio cultural context of The Cement Garden by Ian McEwan (1948 ). Once placed within context, an examination of the internal worlds of the bereaved children will follow. Attention is given to events from the perspective of Jack, the adolescent narrator and an exploration is made of how the individual interior world of each child fuses into the others and ... We then only observe the external world of Jack and his siblings from his single viewpoint. All is filtered through his lonely and questionable perception. McEwan thus leaves it to the reader to analyse the action of the novel from the filter of Jack s naïve, twisted but prevailing perspective. This creates a sense of the claustrophobia that pervades the boy s world. The discomfort that readers feel parallels and prepares them for Jack s anguished, alienated and contained inner world. The family, even before the parents death, is divided within itself and isolated from other people. Thus Jack s lonely voice lends the narration an air of obsessive and unhealthy emphasis on the very factors that create, generate and sustain the isolated obsessions dominating this family. The writer s concentrated narrative makes the cultural and social location of the family difficult to determine. We know they are disassociated from mainstream society as a family unit, but individually they attend work and school, so what makes them different as a group, and in what way is the family different from wider society? We are told that they are a white family living on the decayed outskirts of an unnamed British city. We are not told the father s occupation, but we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. A Study Of Bitopological Spaces Abstract. In 1995, A.A. Nasef and T. Noiri [6] introduced the notion of strongly  irresolute functions. In the present paper, we generalize this notion to the setting of bitopological spaces and obtain some characterizations and properties of pairwise strongly semi preirresolute functions. AMS Mathematics Subject Classifications (2010): 54E55, 54A05, 54C10, 54D05. Key words and phrases: semi preopen, (i, j) semi preopen, semi preirresolute, pairwise strongly semi preirresolute. 1. Introduction and preliminaries The study of bitopological spaces was initiated by Kelly [4] in 1963. Abd ElMonsef et al. [1] introduced the notion of  open sets and  continuity in topological spaces. On the other hand, Andrijevic [2] called  open sets semipreopen and obtained many properties of such subsets. Recently, Khedr et al. [5] have investigated the notions of semi preopen sets and semi precontinuity in bitopological spaces. In 1995, Nasef and Noiri [6] defined and studied the concept of strongly  irresolute functions. The purpose of the present paper is to extend the concept of strongly  irresoluteness to the setting of bitopological spaces. Throughout the present paper, (X, 1, 2) and (Y, 1, 2) always mean bitopological spaces. For a subset A of a space X, i c1(A) (resp. i int(A)) denotes the closure (resp. interior) of A with respect to i , for i = 1,2. However, i c1(A) and i int(A) are briefly denoted by c1i(A) and inti(A), respectively, if there is no possibility of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Essay On Puritan Theology Puritan Theology Puritans always had very strict beliefs.Among these beliefs the puritans thought sin should not be expressed and a sinner should be shamed, hell is the single most terrifying thing so they instilled fear to get people to convert, and they are the city on a hill so they should lead by example and be the best. In the sermons Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, A Model of Christian Charity, and a Sermon Preached by Samson Occom the authors talk about some of these puritan beliefs. Puritans thought of themselves as the elect . The elect is a group of people who were predestined to be saved by God. John Winthrop knows that the puritans believe that and plays it to his advantage. He uses this quote to prove to the puritans they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He directly states the eyes of all people are upon us. Thus giving the puritans validation. He say this to win the over and get them to see his side by telling something they already believe. He used the puritan theology to prove his point. Another major aspect of puritan theology is the fear they instilled into the public. They always made hell seem so atrocious (as they should have). They did this to get people to convert to their religion. Edwards plays with idea, almost like Winthrop did, to establish fear to get the puritans to confess and be saved. One quote that really stood out was, The wrath of God burns against them; their damnation does not slumber; the pit is prepared; the fire is made ready; the furnace is now hot; ready to receive them; the flames do now rage and glow. The glittering sword is whet and held over them, and the pit hath opened her mouth under them. The devil stands ready to fall upon them, and seize them as his own (Edwards ... And the technology provides the way to make cards become more practical. Two most common types of cards that people use are chip cards and magnetic cards. Both chip cards and magnetic stripe cards are broadly used all over the world in diverse areas of people s life. However, chip cards and magnetic stripe cards are different from the security, function, and the process of the transaction. The first difference between chip cards and magnetic stripe cards is the security of the cards. Due to people put the data into the cards, the security of the cards is a serious factor of the cards. Once the security is not reasonable that the data leaks out, the owner of the card will suffer a large loss. The data includes the profile of a person, like the home and work addresses, the phone number, and the most important element is the money that is in the credit cards and debit cards.
