Walt Disney s Debt Portfolio
Walt Disney s debt portfolio is well diversified. The total debt is $6 billion in short term, $.2
billion in revolving credit, $.5 billion in term loans and $13.6 billion in bonds. Disney had $15
billion in long term debt in January 2016, and in 2014 $12.7 billion. Disney s Equity or market
capitalization was $181.9 billion in 2016, compared to $165 billion 2014. This change was
because of the increase in the Disney stock which increased from $90 in 2014 to $103 in 2016.
Disney s enterprise value also increased, from $179.8 billion to $200.7 billion which shows
growth. Disney gives the impression of being careful with its borrowings since its debt to equity
has been steady from 2010 to 2015. Net margin is typically considered a good metric since it
provides how much profit earnings for common shareholders. From 2006 to 2015, Disney s net

Four Book Of Confucianism
To begin with, Confucianism also known as Ruism, is described as tradition, a philosophy, a
religion, a humanoid or rationalistic religion, a way of governing, or simply a way of life.
Confucianism developed from what was later called the Hundred Schools of Thought. It s got that
name by Confucius. A Confucian revival began during the Tang Dynasty of 618 907. In the late
Tang, Confucianism developed in response to Buddhism and Taoism and was reformulated as Neo
Confucianism. There are still people today who still practice this religion and there are a lot of them.

Harold PinterВґs Among the Hidden and the Theme of Propaganda
It s so easy for propaganda to work, and dissent to be mocked, believes Harold Pinter, Nobel Prize
winning English playwright, screenwriter, director and actor. Various propaganda from the
totalitarian government of Among the Hidden will affect citizens, baron or farmer. Either way,
there will be attempts to voice other sides of the story. The governmentis spreading lies about the
population police; their deceptive ways will change citizen s lives.
Luke is the third child of a farmer s family, and propaganda deeply interfered with his life. Ever
since he was a toddler, he was obliged to a strict set of rules from his paranoid parents. Then they
started running all that on TV about the Population Police, how the Population Police had ways of
finding out everything, how they d do anything to enforce the law... And your dad started hearing
rumors in town, about other babies... (10 11) Luke s mother replied to his questioning. His mother
was telling him about the government s propaganda, the propaganda they had believed. Luke s
parents fell right into the government s trap of lies. Therefore, Luke was forbidden from watching
TV, using the computer, or calling someone on the phone, blocking him from the outside world.
Being a farmer s third child practically meant Luke was clueless when it came to real life. The
doctrines of the government changed Luke s life.
Barons were impacted, in a distinct way. They say. But everybody knows the Government s not that

1. Introduction: Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are used for long term, large scale
oceanographic monitoring. They are classified into different types battery powered AUVs,
propeller driven AUVs and buoyancy driven under water gliders. Among these, underwater
gliders are highly efficient compared to the other types of gliders, because they spend most of
their time in stable, steady motion and they spend their energy only when they are changing their
equilibrium state. There are various ways in which these gliders can use buoyancy for
maneuvering. For this model the movement of these gliders is controlled by the servo actuators
which move the mass relative to the vehicle s frame and their motion control is affected by
varying the parameters which affect the steady motion, such as the center of mass and buoyancy.
These parameters are to be controlled for attaining a steady state motion. For this a control system
needs to be designed which provides feedback in response to the errors which are present in the
state of motion. [1][3] The main important area of concern for the underwater gliders has been their
efficiency, then motion control is the secondary concern.

Descriptive Essay On Beauty
I had to decorate my head with flowers and was looking exquisite. My father had prohibited me
from using scented perfumes. I also did not have slightest of interest in that. I have been brought
up in nature. Where does beauty live? Is it in jewelry or clothes, in the body, in soul or in the eye
of the beholder? I was wondering.
Four chariots named Rug, Yarju, Sam and Atharva were constructed. The great father Brahma sat
on Rug. Twayi and Anwikshika were sitting in Yarju. Varta and Niti were in Atharva. Yarju was
decorated with beautiful flowers. A drape of flowers covered the front of the chariot. The fourth
chariot Atharva was appearing like a bouquet of red flowers.
I sat in the chariot Sam, which was decorated with vines and fragrant flowers. In front of me, a
garland of white jasmine was hanging. I was bathing with the fragrance of the flowers. My whole
body, my mind, and my soul were all filled with fragrance.
No one could see me from outside the chariot. But, I could see through the vines and thorns. I did
not know the logic behind bringing me to heaven like a prisoner. I was sitting with suppressed
curiosity, but was enjoying the scenery of the Indraloka.
Even though heaven s beauty amazed me, my mind was thinking about my motherland, the earth.
My playground, the elegant forest on the foothills of the Himalayas was no way less beautiful. I
could never accept that my unique mother land is less prosperous than the kingdom of Indraloka.
After attending godhood, it was natural to become a lover of luxury. Hence, the kingdom of gods
was so much a show off. If my motherland was a selfless hermit, the heaven was a hedonist beauty.
If the Indraloka was so attractive, then how attractive Indra would be?
After the discussion, I was supposed to come out of the chariot as if for a display. That time I
could see without any hindrance and Indradeva could also see me.
I remembered my first encounter with Indra. He was visiting my father in the ashram. His chariot
was in the garden and I sat in it pretending to navigate it. As soon as I saw him returning to the
chariot, I got scared. I slipped and fell while descending from the chariot and twisted my feet. I did
not cry. Indradeva was already there. Before he

Swidden Farming and the Logging Industry in Indonesia...
With over 130 million hectares of forest area, Indonesia has the third largest forest in the world.
These forests are home to many diverse wildlife and unique creatures not found naturally
anywhere else in the world. Before the 1950 s, these forests were dense and in a natural balance.
With the introduction of greed in the form of humans and reckless machinery over 60 or so years,
Indonesia has won the dubious honour in becoming the World leader of deforestation . This has led
to an unnatural balance and is causing humans to try to control the environment more than they
should. They practice the act of Swidden farming just like the indigenous people of those regions
have. It is the action of cutting down trees and burning any unnecessary... Show more content on

These pollutants may remain in the forest area. They can move into the cities and add to the factory
released pollutants. Or, they can go over into innocent neighbouring countries and disrupt their
lifestyles and their health. In 2013, a pollution cloud from Indonesia covered and filled Singapore.
The Pollutant Standards Index surged and obtained a reading of 371. This is the highest level of
pollution Singapore has ever had and they did not contribute to the burning. This pollution causes
difficulty with navigation and will give a person skin irritations, breathing difficulties, and
respiration issues from the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons found as a by product of Swidden
farming.
Another issue with pollution from Swidden farming is its exacerbation to global warming. The
fires of Swidden forests release greenhouse gases. These gases build up in the atmosphere and keep
in infrared radiation. This is the natural way the Earth maintains the temperature. A dense,
greenhouse gas atmosphere is not a good idea. Yet, the Indonesian logging industry continues to
slash and burn down forests for money. An example of a greenhouse gas rich atmosphere is the
atmosphere on the planet Venus. Venus is known to have the highest surface temperature of any
known planet. It is unlikely that Earth will become like this but, if the rest of the Earth were like
Indonesia, the characteristics will eventually become identical. The increase in carbon emissions in

Television Bias Essay
Most of people believe that television news programs present biased information. On the other
hand, there are people who believe that TV news just states the facts, and that it is not biased.
These people who believe that TV news states the facts believe whatever they hear and see on TV.
It s very important to know how news stations can influence their viewers. Postman and Powers
give a great example in their TelevisionNews: The Language of Pictures article. They said,

They use a specific language to make their viewer believe in their viewpoints. For example, there
was a football game between Umm Salal Qatar and Al Ittihad Saudi Arabialast year in Asian
champion league. After the end of that match, there was a fight between the two sides of the
teams. Cameras show the fight from a height distance, and they didn t zoom in. So nothing was
clear for audiences, who were watching the match on TV, they couldn t see who started the
fight, or even what was going on there. Saudi s sport channel, Al Riadiah, in their late news,
mentioned that Qatari players started the fight. They showed a picture of a Qatari player
pushing one of their players and stated, Here we see how Ahmed (Umm Salal Qatar player)
pushes Nasser (Al Ittihad Saudi player), this bad behavior from Umm Salal player made our
player angry and nervous (Rashid, 2009). In the other hand, Qatar s sport channel, Al Dawri Wa Al
Kass, in their afternoon news, mentioned that Saudi players were the one that started the fight.
They interviewed with one of their players to explain what happened on the pitch after the game.
The Qatari player explained, Saudi player, Khalid, started saying bad words to our player Ahmed
which made him nervous and do what he did (Mohammad, 2009).

Put A Persons Health At Risk
put a persons health at risk. For example, pollution caused from transportation and manufacturing
plants causes a threat to ones well being and overall health. If we look at the root of this particular

that reduced the amount of available resources harming the environment, it is also creating a

Water is essential for us to live and yet there are still so many issue linked to contamination of
water and the health of people. A large proportion of the World s population around 1.1 billion
people does not have access to improved sources of water (Thompson et al., 2003). Many people
take for granted their ability to access clean water. When in reality this problem has been occurring
for a very long time and affects a vast amount of people. The first documented attempts to treat
drinking water, which may date back to 4000 B.C., were recorded in Greek and Sanskrit writings
(Barry M and Hughes J, 2008). Even with the technology and knowledge we have today this
problem is still occurring. In order to fully understand its implications on people it has to be looked
at in a global context.
According to Thompson et al. (2003), a long term goal of Global Health is to cut in half the
number of people who do not have access to clean water. This initiative will necessitate innovative,
collaborative, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral efforts, with commitment from national leaders
and heads of international agencies and with public private partnership (Barry M and Hughes J,
2008). Blending ideas from people with different backgrounds will increase the likelihood of
accomplishing this goal. Diseases associated with the consumption of contaminated water cause
serious problems that people in both

High Stakes Testing In High Schools
Schools across the nation are eliminating programs that enhance creativity or even discussions
about the current world events. They all have an identical curriculum and are set up to proceed
one type of mind that processes information in one way. Thus, high stakes testing pressures
students to improve their performance. Lisa Collier states, ... So many Michigan students stayed
home when their assessment tests were given last year that several high schools were threatened
with loss of accreditation. In Illinois, 200 students expressed their scorn for the state s exam by
showing up and deliberately giving the wrong answers. Critics feel the students are being turned
off to learning because they re being force fed the dry facts and figures needed to excel on high

At my high school, all students from 9 through 12 grade levels were required to take the Regents
exam authorized by the state of New York. If students did not pass the Regents exam in June,
their first time, and were forced to go to summer school and take the Regents again, and if they
did not pass the test again they were held back a grade or they did not graduate with their class.
Thus, it is hard to test students in this way since no one was taught the same way all 12 years or
learned the same exact things. That s not all, before taking the Regent exam in June, we had 4
district assessments each quarter. Higher amounts of testing will end up frustrating the students and
they will feel tired when taking state tests. Thus, high stakes testing is profoundly a mistaken

Charles Baudelaire And Victor Hugo
In France, Charles Baudelaire and Victor Hugo defined new grounds to the Romantic movement
with his poems. Often compared with Wordsworth, Baudelaire s French poems surfaced an ease of

His poems including the L Ame du Vin and Mort des Artistes are popular for the thematic basis of
defining the pursuits of life and art.
The English romantic poetry is dense and divided into two eras; William Wordsworth, Samuel

The study of the heroic couplet links us to the neo classical age, where Dryden uses the technique

in the romantic era with Keats poems including the Lamia and Samuel Jonhson s The Vanity of
Human Wishes and The Deserted Village.

Supernatural Elements In A Prayer For Owen Meany
There are few people in this world who are willing to sacrifice their life for someone else s. The
sacrifice of life is the single largest sacrifice one can make and it takes more bravery and
compassion than any other act. Even so, in John Irving s A Prayer for Owen Meany, Owen is
more than willing to do just that. Although he makes many sacrifices, his biggest sacrifice is his
own life. In the beginning of the novel, Owen comes across as slightly different with his minuscule
size and high pitched voice, but as the novel progresses and Owen ages, his inhuman qualities
become more and more prevalent. Eventually, Owen Meany s supernatural qualities combine with
his selflessness and people begin to view him as more than just a compelling... Show more content

Owen uses this moment as his time to prove himself a hero. Johnny explains, He went straight up,
never turning to face me, and instead of dropping the grenade and leaving it on the window
ledge, he caught hold of the ledge with both hands, pinning the grenade against the ledge and
trapping it there safely with his hands and forearms (Irving 623). While Owen could easily run
from the grenade, he decides instead to hold it in place to ensure the safety of the Vietnamese
children and the others in the room. Owen Meany giving up his life for the Vietnamese children
encapsulates his everlasting desire to make sacrifices for the well being of others. Owen Meany
s supernatural qualities along with his desire to sacrifice himself for others contribute to him
being viewed as a religious figure. In the novel, Owen is depicted as a supernatural, superior
being, but his selfless facet is the quality which actually makes people associate him with
religion. The way in which Owen uses his power to sacrifice for others is the characteristic which
separates him from others with similar power. Since Owen is considered supernatural, he makes
sacrifices to provide assurance of his faith. Owen confirms this notion when he exclaims,
WHOSOEVER LIVETH AND BELIEVETH IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE, while he himself is
dying (Irving 626). This shows that Owen knows in this moment that he is using his supernatural
abilities to sacrifice himself

being an athlete of Major League Baseball and National Football League, he has defied the odds
of what an epic athlete and human portray. He was capable of great strengths and overcame
losses with courage. His life was a series of events that led him to travel over a vast setting. He

documentary of Bo s life was captured with essence and awe as viewers see for themselves the
hero before their eyes. From a young boy, Bo Jackson showed his potential for great deeds. His
acts were seen as ungodly by many. By the time he was in eighth grade, Bo had dunked a stick,

What Is Southwest Airlines Case Study
Recommendation
Over the years Southwest Airlines has steadily grew, but their growth has been highly controlled.
This highly controlled growth has allowed them to avoid the trap of growing beyond their means.
With the acquisition of AirTran Air, it accelerated Southwest Airlines entry into the international
markets. As we hold a large investment in Southwest Airlines, I believe this merger with AirTran Air
will not affect the strategy and culture of Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines strategy and
culture has a history of being successful as well as creating large profits for the company and its
stakeholders. I do see Southwest Airlines maintaining their laser like focus on their basic strategy,
but it will take time to fully transition Southwest Airlines strategy and culture to AirTran Air. With
this said we should retain our investment in Southwest Airlines as the company has been
consistently profitable for decades and has weathered hardships such as, the September 11 terrorist
attacks, and the 2008 2009 recession. While making my decision to retain our investment in
Southwest Airlines I analyzed Southwest Airlines performance in the U.S airlineindustry, as well as
looked at Southwest s operations, strategy/culture. The advantages to my recommendation of
retaining our investment in Southwest Airlines is that our company could see high returns for our
customers and shareholders. In addition, our investment in Southwest Airlines could increase in
size, which would

Bullying At A Young Age
Have you ever been called a nasty name? Or even made fun because of your hair, or even your
clothes? Or have you have made fun of someone because of their hair or clothes? Bullying is
something that is active across the world, and it doesn t just happen in schools, it can happen
anywhere at any time to anyone. We can all always do our best to prevent it but the outcome is
very low.
Statistics show that between the ages of 5 and 7 is when bullying is very hot. In the article Bullying
at a young age it states that between these ages is when children are maturing and starting to
realize new things about others children do not intend to pick on one another they just simply
do don t know how to be polite about the situation. When bullying is in action most of the time
other tend to believe the parents are not connected with their children as much as they should be.
Sometimes a person begins to bully others because of their situation and lifestyle at home. We all
know things at home can sometimes get a little out of hand, in all families. A child may come
from a single parent home or their parents may have just recently split up. In other instances, a
person may live in a poor neighborhood and their parents or guardians may not be handling the
responsibility of being a parent in a way that they should. The most popular reason for a bully to
start bullying in the first place usually is a cry for help.

Our watershed, the chesapeake bay stretches more than 64,000 square miles and is home to
about 18 million people. The bay provides us with a lot of things like fishes, salt and water for
farming etc. But, the bay is starting to get polluted and many organisms in the bay are dying
because of sediments, algae blooms etc. One of the major problems and also a problem in my
neighborhood is sediments. Sediments forms when rocks and soil erode or weather. About 5.2
million tons of sediment enter the bay every year. When it rains, those sediments are carried to the
bay by runoff. Because of the small size, the particles float on the surface of water and often travel
long distances during rainstorms. When there are too many of these sediments, the water

The Open Window, By Hernando Tellez
All authors have a purpose when writing their stories, and that is to provide a message to their
readers. This message is known as theme, and literature from all around the world provide one.
The themes of H.H. Munro s The Open Window, Hernando TГ©llez s Just Lather, That s All,
and Alden Nowlan s The Fall of a City, all relate to humanity, and our roles in society. H.H
Munro states that we deceive others of their reality, while Hernando TГ©llez demonstrates that
each person has their own place in society, and Alden Nowlan discusses how one s actions and
words can affect others. H.H. Munro demonstrates that as human beings, we deceive others, and
turn their perception into reality. This is shown through the characters of The Open Window, Mr.
Nuttel and Vera. Vera notices Framton s nerve problem and takes advantage of the situation. In
this situation, she uses a real object, in this case the open window, to draw in her victim. When
the niece tells the story of the disappearance of three men and a dog, she makes the scenario
sound very possible. The window becomes symbolic. It represents the possibility that the men just
might walk in after being lost for three years. This is what Mr. Nuttel perceived as the truth.
Therefore, Framton expects to see three ghosts, so when he saw three men come in, what he
perceived as the truth in her story, becomes his reality. For example: Framton grabbed wildly at his
stick and hat...a cyclist coming along the road had to run into the hedge

The Consequences Of European Standards Of Beauty On Black...
The consequences of European Standards of beauty on Black women Melissa Bandoo 03/31
/2015 Abstract As a consequence of history and European standards of beauty upheld in society
black women are conditioned to loathe attributes distinctive to their race which, therefore, leads
to low self esteem. Black women today have a plethora of advertisements thrown at them that
white wash, body shame, and encourage them to assimilate to European standards of beauty for
example straightening their hair which ultimately alters a woman s outlook on self. Hypothesis
African American women have low self esteem due to European standards of beauty but their
expectations of beauty differ from women and young women of other races due to cultural
differences and surroundings. Darker skinned African Americans are less confident in
themselves due to the glorification of lighter skin. Introduction As we know, history has
separated African American people from the greater white society . Black women in early
history were maids and slaves that were often separated by skin complexion, women that were
lighter in complexion were put in the house as slaves as maids and caregivers and women with a
darker complexion were put out in the field to work on crops. A large amount of house slaves,
who were offspring of their masters, had lighter complexions and were told that they were better
than their fellow darker skinned slaves. Social status among slaves was brought about by the house

The Importance Of Critical Pedagogy In Teaching
Introduction
Critical pedagogy entails a teaching method motivated through critical hypothesis along with
different drastic philosophies that aims at aiding students inquire and experiment speculated
domination alongside underpinning the dogmas and practices assumed to rule. It can also be
defined as a postulate and attempts of aiding students attain critical awareness. Besides, the writing
of critical pedagogy remains exceptionally expansive in fact and involves thick information. Truth
be told, the political point of view of critical pedagogy regarding the educational programs provides
a lot in making bounteous grants in the field. Furthermore, as the same number of creators see,
basic instructional method does not have an arrangement of unmistakable standards that builds the
way toward setting an integrated meaning on its premises quite difficult. All the same, the
execution of parts regarding critical pedagogy within the classroom environment can have vast
scale outputs in the showing procedure overall. Thus, it stands imperative to offer a short
examination of the writing on basic teaching method, a scrutiny of its centre standards as well as an
examination of the critique coordinated contrary to its suppositions.
Moreover, critical pedagogy has its underlying foundations in Paulo Freire, an individual broadly
thought as the inaugural theorist of basic teaching method (Freire Slover, 1983). Despite the fact
that initially Freire devoted his endeavours on matters

In this article, the key research questions and hypothesis proposed are: 1) does the family
acceptance and supportive behavior predicts show a difference in ...self esteem, social support,
general health status, depression, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, and behaviors (cite?) and can
be influential to the health and mental health of LGBT adolescents and young adults? 2) Can the
relationship between family and their children s LGBT identity as they go into adulthood effect
their health and mental health status? The hypothesis states that being accepted of LGBT
adolescents can be connected to a decreased in mental and behavior health s then increasing the
chance of having positive influences in the phases of their adulthood. Sample. The LGBT young

Linear Regression Analysis Paper
In this paper I will be defining the term graph sequence, recursion formulas and arithmetic
sequence. I will also solve the two problems given. Lastly, I will tell how the sums compare to one
another.
Definition
So what exactly is a graph sequence? A graph sequence is basically a setof discreet points on a
graph. So they are basically the points that we plot on a graph. The recursion formulas are the nth
number term of a sequence. It is the function of the term and can also define sequences using the
recursion formulas. The recursion formula looks something like this; an = 1/n. The last definition
that I will cover is the arithmetic sequence. The arithmetic sequence is defined as a sequence in
which each term after the first differs from the preceding term by a constant amount. An example of
how the formula would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To solve this is very simple just add 5836 + 6185 + 6585 + 7020 = 25,626. So our answer to Part A
is $25,626.
For Part B we would use the arithmetic sequence formula to solve this problem. In this problem n
= the number of years. We are going to use the formula provided an = 395n + 5419.
So our first problem will look like this; a (1) = 395 (1) + 5419 = 5814. The second year, a (2) = 395
(2) + 5419 = 6209. The third year; a (3) = 395 (3) + 5419 = 6604. The fourth year, a (4) = 395 (4) +
5419 = 6999. So now we have the sums of all four years. Which are: 5814, 6209, 6604, and 6999.
To solve for Part B we will be using the formula given Sn = (n/2) (a1 + an). So, a1 = the first year
sum, n= the fourth year and fourth year sum. This is how the problem looks written out with the
correct numbers plugged in S4 = 4/2 (5814 + 6999). So to get this answer you will simply divide 2
into 4 and you get 2 or 4/2 = 2. Then you add the sums in the parenthesis or (5814 + 6999) = 12813.
Finally you will multiply 2(12813) and get

Social media websites and activities such as Facebook, Instagram, Blogs, and open forums
allows people to seek the attention from others. Apps and websites that focus on a persons
appearance affects how one might think of themselves. The self esteem of Young adults and
adolescence ages 15+ are greatly affected. The thought of being appealing and gaining status is a
target for young adults to change their color or dark personality traits as an accommodation

people place negative connotations associated with being an introvert. Also examined is the
importance of introverts in society and how powerful introverts really are despite what many

According to Organizational Behavior: Emerging Knowledge, Global Reality, Introverts do not
necessarily lack social skills. Rather, they are more inclined to direct their interests to ideas than
to social events. Introverts feel quite comfortable being alone, whereas extroverts do not
(McShane Von Glinow, 2015, p. 41). The Roosevelt s, Franklin and Eleanor, were two of the
most influential people in American history during the twentieth century. However, when it
comes to their leadership styles, they are completely different. Franklin was what people would
call an extrovert. He was outgoing, he didn t mind big crowds, and loved mingling with others.
On the other hand, Eleanor was what most people would call an introvert. She was very timid
and shy, she didn t like crowds, nor did she like socializing or mingling much with others. Over
time; however, Eleanor grew to like social events and often spoke out publically proclaiming her
beliefs and opinions on political issues of the time. In the third part of Quiet: The Power of
Introverts, Cain informs readers that despite what Western cultures believe, not all cultures share
the same way of thinking in regards to extroversion. Extroversion is not necessarily an ideal
characteristic in cultures such as China or Japan, for example.

The False Validity Of The Chemical Imbalance Myth
Americans should be more aware of the false validity of the Chemical Imbalance Myth in our
society today because of the immense usage of Antidepressants and the negative consequences they
have on our physical and emotional health. The writers goal in writing this paper is not to say that
mental illnesses are not real, rather, to point out some of the myths and traditions that are related to
depression. We as a people tend to confuse normal emotions with clinical depression, in which they
are prescribed antidepressants to make them feel better. The myth focused on in this paper is the
Chemical Imbalance theory, which has been adopted by our society for years. The number of
people in America that are currently on antidepressantmedications is alarming and this issue must
be addressed. A mistake that many well meaning American s make is taking pills when those pills
are not necessary. These pills are rather damaging to an individual s physical, emotional, and family
health. When individuals take responsibility for their emotions and meet their core needs as a
human, the normal emotionof sadness can be resolved. Manufactured Depression

Muslim and Hindu Wedding Ceremony
INTRODUCTION:
The Islamic and Hindu religions have an array of similarities and differences regarding their
customs and laws in relation to the wedding ceremony .
Within Islam, the wedding ceremony is believed to be both a religious and social obligation to
get married. As a result, there is a great weight placed on religious, social and cultural dimensions
of the ceremony which tends to be simple in nature, paralleling Islamic beliefs. Hindus also place a
lot of importance on marriage ceremonies which signify customs, rituals and elaborate
celebrations. However, a key difference lies in the fact that Islamic marriages are seen as
contractual agreements, whereas Hindu marriages are perceived to be sacrilegious.

The Hindu service is performed by a male Brahmin priest ( Pundit ), in accordance with the holy
verses ( mantras ) from the Vedas the Hindu Holy Book. Often the ceremony can be conducted in
Sanskrit which gets its roots from Hinduism and embraces a rich tradition of poetry as well as
practical and philosophical texts.
The Venue
An Islamic wedding ceremony can take place in many places apart from a Mosque, even though
a Mosque is highly preferred. Before the ceremony, the bride and groom should find out whether
it s possible to video and take photos of the event. Flowers and ornaments are not allowed in the
Mosque even though the bride and groom are decorated with flowers for the service. If the
ceremony takes place in a venue which isn t a Mosque, the bride and groom have more freedom
to decorate, providing they seek advice from the local Imam , of what is appropriate.
The Hindu marriage usually takes in the bride s hometown or city. The venue is generally a town
or community hall, or a hotel, depending on the budget of the bride s family. There are often
blessings in the temple before or after the service.
Wedding Attire
Customarily, the Arab Muslim bride wears a simple white dress and veil, very similar to the
Christian faith. An Asian Muslim bride however, is much more colourful and wears glittering
clothes, plenty of jewellery and flower garlands around her. The hands and feet of the bride are
often decorated with henna ( Mehndi ). The

Alka Seltzer Dissolving at Different Temperatures Essay
Alka Seltzer Dissolving at Different Temperatures
The variable that I will change will be the temperature of the water that the Alka Seltzer is put in.
For my results I will measure the time taken for the Alka seltzer tablet to completely dissolve in
water at different temperatures.
Input variables:
* Varying surface area of Alka Seltzer tablet, i.e. if cut into smaller pieces or crushed it will
increase the surface area. (If the surface area is increased (more powdered) the rate of reaction also
increases. This means that there are more collisions between the solid and liquid.)
* Amount of tap water H2O used, i.e. volume (ml).
* Amount of Alka Seltzer tablets used, i.e. quantityof tablets.
(one is used)
* ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* As pH decreases, acidity in solution is high. This makes H+ ions in solution readily available for
HCO3 ions in the tablets, hence making it fizz quickly forming carbon dioxide and water. So as
pH decreases, the rate of reaction increases as well.
Preliminary Work:
I did this preliminary work using the following apparatus. The results obtained are tabulated below:
Apparatus:
В· 300ml beaker
В· Tap water
В· Alka Seltzer Tablets
В· Thermometer
В· Bunsen Burner
В· Tripod
В· Heat mat
В· Gauze
В· Goggles
Method:
В· I set up the apparatus as shown in the diagram. I then placed a thermometer into the beaker
which I already filled with 150ml of water. I then set the water to the required temperature by
heating it
(although I did not have to do this for the first temperature which was 20В°C, where I just kept the
water as it was without heating it).
When the water reached the required temperature I placed an alka seltzer tablet into it, and as I did
so I started the timer. When Alka seltzer tablet dissolved (just until the actual tablet was not visible
anymore, even though there was still some white scum in the water) I stopped timing and wrote

In 1970, the Chaparral Region of Southern California suffered immense devastation from wildfires
that burned for several days, burning more than half a million acres of land, destroying over 700
structures and killing 16 people. During the subsequent debriefing and critiques done by the two
primary agencies, Los Angeles County and Los Angeles City FireDepartments, four major obstacles
were identified. The two departments agreed that while there was cooperation between the
departments, the identified obstacles definitely impeded the efforts put forth to extinguish the fire.
Terminology between the departments was an initial obstacle that needed to be addressed. The
critique found that because each agency had a variety of terms for the same equipment, there was
confusion when requesting or identifying it. Due to the lack of distinct planning for the wild land
fires, the commanders did not have the ability to deploy the proper units when or where needed.
Units were incorrectly sent to areas, or mistakenly instructed to stand down or stay in quarters when
not needed. The inconsistency in response plans of the different agencies was also an obstacle
worth discussing. Again, each agency had there own... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Critique Of A Research Article
Critique of a research article
This paper is a critique of Alison Fuller and Lorna Unwin s research article Knowledge Workers as
the New Apprentices: The Influence of Organisational Autonomy, Goals and Values on the
Nurturing of Expertise Vocations and Learning . Professor Alison Fuller, formerly of the University
of Southampton, has been Chair in Vocational Education and Work at the Institute Of Education
(IOE) since September 2013 while Lorna Unwin is Chair in Vocational Education at the IOE.
This research article explores the concept of apprenticeship model in the context of the professional
formation of knowledge workers and was carried out within a project funded by the UK s
Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Learning as Work: Teaching and Learning Process
in the Contemporary Work Organisation . This project intends to break new theoretical and
methodological ground by examining the interplay of the organisational context with processes of
individual/group teaching and learning at work. Hence, the emphasis unavoidably leads to
interpretations that reflect the values of the organisation and Fuller and Unwin s world.
With this in mind, this paper will examine the merits of the research by focusing on the strength
weaknesses, as well as limitations, of the claims it presents.
What is the problem that is addressed in the research?

First Person Narrative Research
First person narrative research is a term that uses a group of approaches that in turn depend on
spoken words, written works or pictures/drawings of people. These approaches tend to focus on the
lives of individuals as told through their own stories. The importance and focus within such
approaches is in the narrative, usually based on both what and how it is narrated. The audience
validates narrative research. Being a very useful tool and all, narrative method may not always
be strong enough to stand alone as a central piece of evidence in concluding a point. Regardless if
it is part of a presentation or whether it is a stand alone piece of information, it must be accepted,
based on its own merits as an individual experienceand... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrative method allows for an intimate look into the emotions, thoughts and experiences
within a story based on the fact that another has witnessed such or intern through another s work
along for a great picture to be established. Being easily able to validate a claim or narrative account
through another is also a huge benefit of the method making it easier for the truth to come out and
harder for lies to see the light. Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods
tend to come from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not
seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. Nevertheless, many problems can also
be seen within the method harder and less likely to prevent. The limited perspective is detrimental
in the sense that only that one perspective s views through emotion and feeling are used to describe
the situation if there had only been one account. Unless there are multiple viewpoints from different
individuals who think and act differently put together to create one image from all different sides,
which isn t very practical to do. The narrative method also creates a restricted view in the sense that
anything the reader does not know, you don t know. Such as taking into consideration different
socio contexts and the individuals thinking spectrums. The narrative account may also be biased,
understanding the story through ones eyes, leaves room for events and facts to change based on
what the individual thinks, wants, and knows at the

Many film adaptions of the famous play have been created by director s eager to create their own
take on this tragedy, but the two film versions of act 4 that will be analyzed in this essay are the
1990s Franco Zeffirelli version starring, Mel Gibson and the 1996 Kenneth Branagh version. Both

According to the Tax Fairness.org Facts Sheets, say that many wealthy Americans have ways to

comes to the tax topic, because most of our societies consist of working class individuals and
even below the poverty line group. So when we talk about the wealthy, is that 1%, whom are

Donald Trump s proposition sounds very interesting, killing the estate tax would cost [roughly]

Matsushita And Phillips Case Analysis
Matsushita and Phillips Phillips and Matsushita are both electronics companies that started
relatively around the same time, faced problems around the same time and went through failures
and successes that they themselves created. Phillips Introduction Phillips started out in Holland and
became very successful, very quickly, becoming the third largest light bulb producer in Europe.
Phillips continued to focus on light bulbs as others in the industry began to branch out. By 1919,
however, Phillips entered into an agreement with General Electric and began to become a less

The National Organizations (NOs) during the war proved to be the most successful, due to their self

responsiveness extended beyond adaptive marketing. They began to take from one market and

Describe The Trapping Mechanism And Digestion Process
The Venus flytrap preys on insects with its unique shaped terminal portions on its leaves called
the leaf blade. Each trap has between two to five trigger hairs on each lobe. The edge of the trap is
lined with finger like cilia that lace together when the trap closes. The trapping mechanism and
digestion process is divided into four phases: the initial snap, the tightening phase, the sealing
phases, and the reopening phase. In the initial snap, the trigger hairs are the indicator for the plantto
know if a possible prey is in the trap. If one or two trigger hairs are touched twice within a short
amount of time, the trap will spring shut immediately. If the initial snap of the trap is successful in
capturing the prey, then the trap will

Ben Carson As A Super Surgeon
Introduction
Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower
others. (John C. Maxwell). Ben Carson has exemplified this quote by his perpetual efforts to
transform his abilities and empower those around him. Ben Carson is one of the world s
foremost pediatric neurosurgeons. He was rated by the Time issue titled America s Best as a
super surgeon . He was also selected by CNN and Time as one of the nation s top 20 physicians
and scientists, and by the Library of Congress as one of 89 living legends . Coming from humble
beginnings, he still managed to attend University and became the Director of Pediatric
Neurosurgery at John Hopkins Hospital at age 33. He is known for successfully separating
conjoined twins and performing a hemispherectomy (a very rare surgical procedure). He
currently works at the John Hopkins Medical School where he is the Professor and Chief of

My Passion For Literature
It was an honest question, one not verbose to the point of obscurity, What language do they speak
in England? there was a beat, and I, with my ten year old witticism responded to my 17 year old
half sister s question with a candid retort, English, duh! . This amused my parents who continued
packing their suitcases and travel books, her question stemmed from our much anticipated
departure to Great Britain the next day and it had left us all buzzing with excitement. Well when
did you become such a know it all? she veered, it was a half hearted jest, more so antagonistic than
spiteful as all siblingbanter was. For me, variations of that question follow my retorts even now. I
am the product of two English teachers as parents, my name, Elizabeth, stems from their equal
obsession for the works written in the Elizabethan Era namely William Shakespeareand John Lyly. I
am the product of my own genetics, my love for literature and passion for writingonly fuels my
ambitious nature and the pursuit to understand everything that this world offers.
As a child my father read to my younger brother and I every night, we would jump onto the
couch and he would walk in behind us with a book in hand, he read all sorts of books from
Watership Down to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and while my brother would fall asleep after
the first few pages I would be there chapter after chapter anticipating what would happen next.
While this was a way to lull us to sleep that isn t the effect books

The Transcript Of Chicken Dinner
In the transcript of Chicken Dinner , two couples are shown eating a meal together. Each line
has abbreviated the following names: Shane (SHA), Vivian (VIV), Michael (MIC), and Nancy
(NAN). The focus here is between lines 33 through 55. Line 39 has Shane turn his body followed
with the statement, all of a sudden. Shane and Michael then engage in a mutual eye gaze. This
suggest Shane wants to grab the attention of Michael, that he is the primary recipient, and the
mutuality of the gaze suggest Michael is attentive to Shane s story. When Shane continues by
saying, dis guy go EH, followed by an imitation of the sound of the car s horn and the iconic
gesture of one pressing down on the horn, the eye gaze from Michael is broken and shifted

Policy In Pakistan
US policy in Pakistan largely centres around expending military aid to combat regional terrorism
and facilitate peace in Afghanistan. However, it has hardly achieved any tangible results.
The Pakistani army, which supersedes it s elected government, diverted these funds towards anti
India terror factions for covert proxy wars due to it s historic rivalry with India. These terror
factions carried out the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, attracting censure from Pakistan s civilians
and international condemnation at a time when US strategic convergence with India was growing.
Simultaneous changes in Pakistan s military leadership led to attempts to dissolve these groups,
who turned on it instead. They subsequently allied themselves with ... Show more content on

The fundamental problem was a lack of leverage : Pakistan had no interest in a peaceful
Afghanistan but the US had no other partner to turn to.
Eventually, the Pakistan army lost control over some of these terror groups, who linked up with al
Qaeda, Talibanand more recently, the Islamic State, across the porous Afghanistan border. In light
of pressure from the US and it s growing non state actors, the Pakistan military attempted to curb
these groups but failed. Consequently, these groups pledged alliance to one of al Qaeda, Taliban or
the Islamic State and amped up terror attacks within Pakistan. This reached the tipping point in
December 2014, when members of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan killed 243 children in an army
school. In response, the Pakistani army killed 3500 terrorists of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan and
other internal terror factions in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) near the Afghanistan
border, over the last two years. Simultaneously, the Pakistani media blamed the US for Pakistan s
thriving internal violence and anti American sentiment amongst civilians grew.
While this was a major counter terrorism initiative, Pakistan has an episodic history of reverting to
proxy terrorism. It continues to harbour anti India terror groups, which could be refocused towards
India, once tensions with the Tehrik i Taliban subside and Pakistan could resume double crossing
the US. However,

Nuclear Weapons Of Mass Destruction
Karla Ximena Leyte
Though Paper #3
Weapons of mass destruction and their ability to challenge security and create large scale
obliteration have become the most significant threat in international politics, causing vast
concern of the consequences that may arise if they were to emerge in the hands of dangerous
non state actors. Chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons not only possess the ability to end
the life of many but also pose negative effects on the environment and global economy. While
their ability to wipe out a mass of civilians causes terror throughout the world, the major concern
in regards to WMD is the possibility of their landing in the hands of treacherous terrorist groups.
This fear expanded in 2001 after the terrorist use of anthrax in the United Sate s postal services
(Reed). Although all nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons acquire the ability to terrorize a
civilization, nuclear weapons pose the deadliest threat. Chemical weapons seize the ability to
wipe out thousands of lives with effective gas attacks while biological threats influence the
spread of deadly diseases. What makes these two forms of WMD less severe than nuclear
weapons is that protective clothing and gear can be worn to avert lethal gas and it is difficult for
a pandemic disease to become large scale in today s era (Macfarlane). The United States should
focus its concern on nuclear weapons and the fatal threat they pose not only on human life but also
on infrastructure. Arming an

Why Minions Sell A Man
Why Minions Sell
A man, his two kids and a lady are standing over a counter making their orders for minions to a
group of three staff behind a counter, a lady is approaching and a gentleman is walking away from
the counter with a plate of minion. The environment around the minion store is neat with pictures
of different tastes of minions and their preferred drinks mounted on the upper part of the counter.
The customers are anxiously waiting with the two kids and the lady directly staring at the staff. The
minion commercial does not compare itself with other adverts in the market but instead focuses on
winning the market for minions by enlightening the customers on the supplementary drinks that
best accompany minion and displaying the environment surrounding its consumption. The
commercial generally tries to portray minion s dominance in the platform of snacks by using
different groups who have embraced its consumption in the society and its influences in the
consumption of different complementary drinks.
The aim of advertising commercials is to win the interest of different groups in the society. Art
Markman who has a PhD and is a professor of Psychology and Marketing at the University of Texas
writes in his publication What Does Advertising Do that the most powerful effect of advertising is
to create a good feeling about a product by surrounding it with other things that consumers like (1).
The commercial tries to convince the people that its consumption has been embraced

Internship Statement For Internship
This summer I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in a research and
development internship at the world s largest snack company, MondelД“z International, which is
known for its iconic brands such as Oreo, Sour Patch Kids, Triscuit, Trident, Swedish Fish,
Cadbury, and many more. The headquarters for this international giant is located in Chicago,
Illinois; however, I was employed in the research and development center positioned in East
Hanover, New Jersey. Completing my second year at Penn State last May fully aware that I would
be moving to New Jersey from my small hometown around Erie, PA, I was under the perception
that I had an idea of what the summer would hold for me. However, this was an overstatement, for
what I experienced in the time between May and August truly altered my viewpoint on education,
business, and food science. Accepting the offer to participate in an internshipwith MondelД“z
International last fall, I understood that the experiencewould be very enriching, for this was what
my professors and older students conveyed. I set goals such as attempting to act as a sponge,
extracting every single experience/knowledge that I could from professionals in the industry,
networking with other food science students participating in the internship as well as the mentors
that would be leading me through the project, exposing myself to a different lifestyle as a salary
employee and resident of uniquely cultured New Jersey, and many others.

Margaret (peggy) Timberlake Eaton Essay example
Margaret (Peggy) O Neal (who preffered to be called Margaret) was born in 1799 in Washington
DC. She was the daughter of William O Neal, who owned a thriving boarding house and tavern
called the Franklin House in that same town. It was frequented by senators, congressmen, and all
politicians. She was the oldest of six children, growing up in the midst of our nations emerging
political scene. She was always a favorite of the visitors to the Franklin House. She was sent to one
of the best schools in Washington DC, where she studied English and French grammar,
needlework and music. She also had quite a talent for dance, and was sent to private lessons,
becoming a very good dancer. At the age of twelve, she danced for the First Lady Dolley... Show

The real cause for the disapproval was that Margaret and Eaton had been living together before
Timberlake was killed. There were also rumors that Margaret had miscarried Eaton s child before
they were married, but it is hard to say if there is any truth in that.
All of the preceding events rose many eyebrows in Washington DC, especially among the elite
politician s wives. Floride Calhoun, wife of Vice President John Calhoun, accepted a social call
from the Eatons after their marriage, but refused to pay a return visit. This was viewed in
Washington DC as a snub. Jackson s advisors encouraged him not to appoint Eaton into his
cabinet, saying that his reputation would damage Jackson s chances for the Presidency. This only
angered Jackson, who recalled the earlier mistreatment of his wife, Rachel, during his first run for
the presidency. There had been a misunderstanding about her previous divorce, and it turned out
that she and Jackson had not been married when they had thought, since her divorce was not yet
final. They had in fact, been living quite publicly in sin for over two years. They quickly repeated
their vows, but the political and personal repercussions had already taken effect. Rachel died of a
heart attack less than three months before Jackson s inauguration, and Jackson always blamed his
competing party for her death.
Jackson was determined to have the Eatons accepted in polite

The Dark Knight Rises Film
Even to this day, many have failed to replicate what has been known to be the most successful
superhero trilogy of all time. With awards totaling south of over seventy total wins and over 100
nominations, the Dark Knight Rises remains to be everything a film needs to be to always remain a
timeless classic. The method the team used to overwhelm the world with this immaculate trilogy
was to create the last installment as more than just a film, but as a piece of art as well. Many
methods were used to reach this profound approach to filmmaking, however it was the brilliant
cinematography, the acting that brought the characters to life, and the director s genius ending that
transitioned the Dark KnightRises from an ordinary film, into an admired piece of art to all.
One of the major reasons for the success of the Dark Knight Rises film is because of its award
winning cinematography that the brilliant Mr. Wally Pfister orchestrated throughout the vigorous 3
hour film. Without a doubt, the vividness portrayed from the gritty lightening aids the goal of
achieving timeless art through the process of using natural light to depict the different array of
natural colors to create beauty. Another method of the brilliant cinematography that this film
contains is the directing of the action sequences. Christopher Nolan constructed a scene prop that
allows him to film night scenes during the day. This allows him to overexpose the lightening during
the actual fighting that gives those

Propaganda In 1984
War is peace, Freedom is slavery, Ignorance is strength. George Orwell s 1984 depicts a dystopian
state which is controlled by a totalitarian government. The government uses propaganda as a
cornerstone of exploiting people to remain in power. Techniques such as doublethink, slogans,
newspeak and laws are cunningly used by the regime in order to maintain authority. Every action
of an individual is controlled by the state through manipulation, thus restricting an individual from
using their own intellect in order to make effective decisions. The propaganda evident in 1984 can
be compared to the propaganda found in the film Goodbye Lenin, which is a film set in the period
preceding and succeeding the fall of the Berlin wall. The propaganda technique of... Show more

Citizens are made to believe that the actions of the ruling party is for the benefit of the people
and in this way the regime maintains total power over the minds of the innocent. Doublethink can
be seen as a form of plain folks since it allows one to hold two contradictory beliefs at the same
time [2]. Government integrates slogans and maxims which hold contradictory meanings, paving
the way for manipulation, hence making the people believe that the ideals of government are the
same as the peoples ideals. An example of doublethink is found in the parties slogan, War is
peace, Freedom is slavery, Ignorance is strength (Orwell 1949). Citizens innocently believe that the
country is at constant war in order to maintain peace within society and these wars are merely for
the safety and security of the people. Individuals are indoctrinated by the party s slogan since the
slogan suggests that by having too much freedom the people would enslave themselves in their own
ideas and senses. By doing this, the party restricts the thoughts and actions of people preventing the

Rikki Tavi Theme
Rikki Tikki Tavi Argumentative Essay
Theme is the colossal idea we grab from a story after reading it. It s a central idea in literary work.
In the story Rikki Tikki Tavi , by Rudyard Kipling the theme is good versus evil.
Rikki tikki and Nagaina are the main characters of this story. Rikki tikki is the hero, in this short
story or protagonist, and the antagonist, Nagaina is the viscous, mean one. Rikki helps people
and Nagaina is greedy and selfish. This story can possibly have another theme to it. Throughout
the story, Rikki tikki tavi ,Rikki tikki represents the good side of the theme in this story. He s
protective because he asked Nag if he thought it was right for him to eat fledglings that fall out of a
nest. Rikki tikki is also courageous because he isn t afraid to fight Nagaina. In the story Rikki tikki

Forrest Hall Building For University Essay
I agree with the students who want to change the name of the Forrest Hall Building on MTSU

Personal Narrative Essay On Cross Country
Hmm, I think I ll wake up tomorrow and run 10 miles! , said no non Cross Country runner ever.
This is a prime example of why a lot of people don t do it. It is a very rigorous sport that requires
a very special type of person to participate in. What kind of people does Cross Country attract? If
you asked me, I would say that Cross Country is the toughest, geekiest sport there is. Essentially,
Cross Country is a chaotic sport for chaotic people. Although the reputation of Cross Country
might be viewed as just a bunch of scrawny, skinny, awkward kids unable to handle the difficulty
of real sports like football or sewing, I say with confidence that there is not any other physical

with pompoms, no tailgating fans at the finish line, no way of using your semi athletic abilities to
land a hot homecoming date. It is a sport for those that search for unrecognized, unappreciated
accomplishments. At the end of the day, Cross Country runners don t need fancy equipment, a
huge fan base, or a scoreboard to feel good about what they have done. They just reflect on what
they have done and accomplished and know that they their hard work will pay

Collagen is the predominant protein in animal bodies,...
Collagen is the predominant protein in animal bodies, constituting approximately 30% of the total
protein (Birk Bruckner, 2005; Unlua et al. 2014). It is an extracellular matrix protein that can either
directly or indirectly interact with cells to alter cellular activity. At least 27 different types of
collagenhave been indentified, correspondingly named types I to XXVII (Birk Bruckner, 2005).
Structure
Collagen is characterized by the right handed triple helical rod structure which is formed by three
left handed helix polypeptide chain. Although the triple helical structure is the main characteristic
of collagen, some globular proteins are indentified as collagen due to the repeating trilets and small

associate at the C termini to form dimers and at the N termini to form tetramers. In addition to
these end to end interactions, the triple helical domains intertwine to form supercoiled
structures. FACIT collagen stands for fibril associated collagen with interrupted triplehelice,
which includes types IX, XII, XIV, XVI, and XIX collagens (Prockop Kivirikko 1995; Van Der

of preexisting fibrils of the fibril forming collagens. Type VI is the only known collagen that can

end to end interaction. The globular domain of the type VI collagen dimer forms a tetramer with
other type VI collagen dimer. The tetramer further aggregates with another tetramer to form the
beaded filament (Prockop Kivirikko 1995). Collagen of anchoring fibrils is composed by type
VII collagen. Type VII collagen has two non collagen domain, NC1 and NC2. Type VII collagen

The governmentis spreading lies about the population police; their deceptive ways will change citizen s lives. Luke is the third child of a farmer s family, and propaganda deeply interfered with his life. Ever since he was a toddler, he was obliged to a strict set of rules from his paranoid parents. Then they started running all that on TV about the Population Police, how the Population Police had ways of finding out everything, how they d do anything to enforce the law... And your dad started hearing rumors in town, about other babies... (10 11) Luke s mother replied to his questioning. His mother was telling him about the government s propaganda, the propaganda they had believed. Luke s parents fell right into the government s trap of lies. Therefore, Luke was forbidden from watching TV, using the computer, or calling someone on the phone, blocking him from the outside world. Simulation:10 4. Results:11 5. Conclusions:11 6. Future Work:11 1. Introduction: Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are used for long term, large scale oceanographic monitoring. They are classified into different types battery powered AUVs, propeller driven AUVs and buoyancy driven under water gliders. Among these, underwater gliders are highly efficient compared to the other types of gliders, because they spend most of their time in stable, steady motion and they spend their energy only when they are changing their equilibrium state. There are various ways in which these gliders can use buoyancy for maneuvering. For this model the movement of these gliders is controlled by the servo actuators which move the mass relative to the vehicle s frame and their motion control is affected by varying the parameters which affect the steady motion, such as the center of mass and buoyancy. These parameters are to be controlled for attaining a steady state motion. For this a control system needs to be designed which provides feedback in response to the errors which are present in the state of motion. [1][3] The main important area of concern for the underwater gliders has been their efficiency, then motion control is the secondary concern.

  • 8. Descriptive Essay On Beauty I had to decorate my head with flowers and was looking exquisite. My father had prohibited me from using scented perfumes. I also did not have slightest of interest in that. I have been brought up in nature. Where does beauty live? Is it in jewelry or clothes, in the body, in soul or in the eye of the beholder? I was wondering. Four chariots named Rug, Yarju, Sam and Atharva were constructed. The great father Brahma sat on Rug. Twayi and Anwikshika were sitting in Yarju. Varta and Niti were in Atharva. Yarju was decorated with beautiful flowers. A drape of flowers covered the front of the chariot. The fourth chariot Atharva was appearing like a bouquet of red flowers. I sat in the chariot Sam, which was decorated with vines and fragrant flowers. In front of me, a garland of white jasmine was hanging. I was bathing with the fragrance of the flowers. My whole body, my mind, and my soul were all filled with fragrance. No one could see me from outside the chariot. But, I could see through the vines and thorns. I did not know the logic behind bringing me to heaven like a prisoner. I was sitting with suppressed curiosity, but was enjoying the scenery of the Indraloka. Even though heaven s beauty amazed me, my mind was thinking about my motherland, the earth. My playground, the elegant forest on the foothills of the Himalayas was no way less beautiful. I could never accept that my unique mother land is less prosperous than the kingdom of Indraloka. After attending godhood, it was natural to become a lover of luxury. Hence, the kingdom of gods was so much a show off. If my motherland was a selfless hermit, the heaven was a hedonist beauty. If the Indraloka was so attractive, then how attractive Indra would be? After the discussion, I was supposed to come out of the chariot as if for a display. That time I could see without any hindrance and Indradeva could also see me. I remembered my first encounter with Indra. He was visiting my father in the ashram. His chariot was in the garden and I sat in it pretending to navigate it. As soon as I saw him returning to the chariot, I got scared. I slipped and fell while descending from the chariot and twisted my feet. I did not cry. Indradeva was already there. Before he ... • 9. Swidden Farming and the Logging Industry in Indonesia... With over 130 million hectares of forest area, Indonesia has the third largest forest in the world. These forests are home to many diverse wildlife and unique creatures not found naturally anywhere else in the world. Before the 1950 s, these forests were dense and in a natural balance. With the introduction of greed in the form of humans and reckless machinery over 60 or so years, Indonesia has won the dubious honour in becoming the World leader of deforestation . This has led to an unnatural balance and is causing humans to try to control the environment more than they should. They practice the act of Swidden farming just like the indigenous people of those regions have. It is the action of cutting down trees and burning any unnecessary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These pollutants may remain in the forest area. They can move into the cities and add to the factory released pollutants. Or, they can go over into innocent neighbouring countries and disrupt their lifestyles and their health. In 2013, a pollution cloud from Indonesia covered and filled Singapore. The Pollutant Standards Index surged and obtained a reading of 371. This is the highest level of pollution Singapore has ever had and they did not contribute to the burning. This pollution causes difficulty with navigation and will give a person skin irritations, breathing difficulties, and respiration issues from the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons found as a by product of Swidden farming. Another issue with pollution from Swidden farming is its exacerbation to global warming. The fires of Swidden forests release greenhouse gases. These gases build up in the atmosphere and keep in infrared radiation. This is the natural way the Earth maintains the temperature. A dense, greenhouse gas atmosphere is not a good idea. Yet, the Indonesian logging industry continues to slash and burn down forests for money. An example of a greenhouse gas rich atmosphere is the atmosphere on the planet Venus. As we hold a large investment in Southwest Airlines, I believe this merger with AirTran Air will not affect the strategy and culture of Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines strategy and culture has a history of being successful as well as creating large profits for the company and its stakeholders. I do see Southwest Airlines maintaining their laser like focus on their basic strategy, but it will take time to fully transition Southwest Airlines strategy and culture to AirTran Air. With this said we should retain our investment in Southwest Airlines as the company has been consistently profitable for decades and has weathered hardships such as, the September 11 terrorist attacks, and the 2008 2009 recession. While making my decision to retain our investment in Southwest Airlines I analyzed Southwest Airlines performance in the U.S airlineindustry, as well as looked at Southwest s operations, strategy/culture. This message is known as theme, and literature from all around the world provide one. The themes of H.H. Munro s The Open Window, Hernando TГ©llez s Just Lather, That s All, and Alden Nowlan s The Fall of a City, all relate to humanity, and our roles in society. H.H Munro states that we deceive others of their reality, while Hernando TГ©llez demonstrates that each person has their own place in society, and Alden Nowlan discusses how one s actions and words can affect others. H.H. Munro demonstrates that as human beings, we deceive others, and turn their perception into reality. This is shown through the characters of The Open Window, Mr. Nuttel and Vera. Vera notices Framton s nerve problem and takes advantage of the situation. In this situation, she uses a real object, in this case the open window, to draw in her victim. When the niece tells the story of the disappearance of three men and a dog, she makes the scenario sound very possible. The window becomes symbolic. It represents the possibility that the men just might walk in after being lost for three years. This is what Mr. Nuttel perceived as the truth. Lastly, I will tell how the sums compare to one another. Definition So what exactly is a graph sequence? A graph sequence is basically a setof discreet points on a graph. So they are basically the points that we plot on a graph. The recursion formulas are the nth number term of a sequence. It is the function of the term and can also define sequences using the recursion formulas. The recursion formula looks something like this; an = 1/n. The last definition that I will cover is the arithmetic sequence. The arithmetic sequence is defined as a sequence in which each term after the first differs from the preceding term by a constant amount. An example of how the formula would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To solve this is very simple just add 5836 + 6185 + 6585 + 7020 = 25,626. So our answer to Part A is $25,626. For Part B we would use the arithmetic sequence formula to solve this problem. In this problem n = the number of years. We are going to use the formula provided an = 395n + 5419. So our first problem will look like this; a (1) = 395 (1) + 5419 = 5814. The second year, a (2) = 395 (2) + 5419 = 6209. The third year; a (3) = 395 (3) + 5419 = 6604. The fourth year, a (4) = 395 (4) + 5419 = 6999. So now we have the sums of all four years. Which are: 5814, 6209, 6604, and 6999. To solve for Part B we will be using the formula given Sn = (n/2) (a1 + an). So, a1 = the first year sum, n= the fourth year and fourth year sum. This is how the problem looks written out with the correct numbers plugged in S4 = 4/2 (5814 + 6999). So to get this answer you will simply divide 2 into 4 and you get 2 or 4/2 = 2. Also examined is the importance of introverts in society and how powerful introverts really are despite what many believe. Introduction Section How will you spend your Friday night? Will you spend it in a crowded restaurant or on the couch reading a good book? Maybe your answer to this question is obvious to you or you might find yourself somewhere in the middle between the two. Whatever your answer may be, the origin of your feelings may lie in how your brain responds to day to day activities. According to Organizational Behavior: Emerging Knowledge, Global Reality, Introverts do not necessarily lack social skills. Rather, they are more inclined to direct their interests to ideas than to social events. Introverts feel quite comfortable being alone, whereas extroverts do not (McShane Von Glinow, 2015, p. 41). The Roosevelt s, Franklin and Eleanor, were two of the most influential people in American history during the twentieth century. However, when it comes to their leadership styles, they are completely different. Franklin was what people would call an extrovert. He was outgoing, he didn t mind big crowds, and loved mingling with others. On the other hand, Eleanor was what most people would call an introvert. She was very timid and shy, she didn t like crowds, nor did she like socializing or mingling much with others. Over time; however, Eleanor grew to like social events and often spoke out publically proclaiming her beliefs and opinions on political issues of the time. In the third part of Quiet: The Power of Introverts, Cain informs readers that despite what Western cultures believe, not all cultures share the same way of thinking in regards to extroversion. Extroversion is not necessarily an ideal characteristic in cultures such as China or Japan, for example. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The False Validity Of The Chemical Imbalance Myth Americans should be more aware of the false validity of the Chemical Imbalance Myth in our society today because of the immense usage of Antidepressants and the negative consequences they have on our physical and emotional health. The writers goal in writing this paper is not to say that mental illnesses are not real, rather, to point out some of the myths and traditions that are related to depression. We as a people tend to confuse normal emotions with clinical depression, in which they are prescribed antidepressants to make them feel better. The myth focused on in this paper is the Chemical Imbalance theory, which has been adopted by our society for years. The number of people in America that are currently on antidepressantmedications is alarming and this issue must be addressed. A mistake that many well meaning American s make is taking pills when those pills are not necessary. These pills are rather damaging to an individual s physical, emotional, and family health. When individuals take responsibility for their emotions and meet their core needs as a human, the normal emotionof sadness can be resolved. Manufactured Depression Introduction Depression has always been a mystery to us; throughout time, we have tried to figure out what causes depression and how to cure it. In the 17th century, a British clergy and scholar named Robert Burton wrote a book called The Anatomy of Melancholy. He believed that depression or melancholy is produced by an excess of black ... Muslim and Hindu Wedding Ceremony INTRODUCTION: The Islamic and Hindu religions have an array of similarities and differences regarding their customs and laws in relation to the wedding ceremony . Within Islam, the wedding ceremony is believed to be both a religious and social obligation to get married. As a result, there is a great weight placed on religious, social and cultural dimensions of the ceremony which tends to be simple in nature, paralleling Islamic beliefs. Hindus also place a lot of importance on marriage ceremonies which signify customs, rituals and elaborate celebrations. The Venue An Islamic wedding ceremony can take place in many places apart from a Mosque, even though a Mosque is highly preferred. Before the ceremony, the bride and groom should find out whether it s possible to video and take photos of the event. Flowers and ornaments are not allowed in the Mosque even though the bride and groom are decorated with flowers for the service. If the ceremony takes place in a venue which isn t a Mosque, the bride and groom have more freedom to decorate, providing they seek advice from the local Imam , of what is appropriate. The Hindu marriage usually takes in the bride s hometown or city. The venue is generally a town or community hall, or a hotel, depending on the budget of the bride s family. There are often blessings in the temple before or after the service. Wedding Attire Customarily, the Arab Muslim bride wears a simple white dress and veil, very similar to the Christian faith. Alka Seltzer Dissolving at Different Temperatures Essay Alka Seltzer Dissolving at Different Temperatures The variable that I will change will be the temperature of the water that the Alka Seltzer is put in. For my results I will measure the time taken for the Alka seltzer tablet to completely dissolve in water at different temperatures. Input variables: * Varying surface area of Alka Seltzer tablet, i.e. if cut into smaller pieces or crushed it will increase the surface area. (If the surface area is increased (more powdered) the rate of reaction also increases. This means that there are more collisions between the solid and liquid.) * Amount of tap water H2O used, i.e. volume (ml). * Amount of Alka Seltzer tablets used, i.e. quantityof tablets. California Fire Department In 1970, the Chaparral Region of Southern California suffered immense devastation from wildfires that burned for several days, burning more than half a million acres of land, destroying over 700 structures and killing 16 people. During the subsequent debriefing and critiques done by the two primary agencies, Los Angeles County and Los Angeles City FireDepartments, four major obstacles were identified. The two departments agreed that while there was cooperation between the departments, the identified obstacles definitely impeded the efforts put forth to extinguish the fire. Terminology between the departments was an initial obstacle that needed to be addressed. The critique found that because each agency had a variety of terms for the same equipment, there was confusion when requesting or identifying it. Due to the lack of distinct planning for the wild land fires, the commanders did not have the ability to deploy the proper units when or where needed. Units were incorrectly sent to areas, or mistakenly instructed to stand down or stay in quarters when not needed. These approaches tend to focus on the lives of individuals as told through their own stories. The importance and focus within such approaches is in the narrative, usually based on both what and how it is narrated. The audience validates narrative research. Being a very useful tool and all, narrative method may not always be strong enough to stand alone as a central piece of evidence in concluding a point. Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods tend to come from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. Chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons not only possess the ability to end the life of many but also pose negative effects on the environment and global economy. While their ability to wipe out a mass of civilians causes terror throughout the world, the major concern in regards to WMD is the possibility of their landing in the hands of treacherous terrorist groups. This fear expanded in 2001 after the terrorist use of anthrax in the United Sate s postal services (Reed). Although all nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons acquire the ability to terrorize a civilization, nuclear weapons pose the deadliest threat. Chemical weapons seize the ability to wipe out thousands of lives with effective gas attacks while biological threats influence the spread of deadly diseases. What makes these two forms of WMD less severe than nuclear weapons is that protective clothing and gear can be worn to avert lethal gas and it is difficult for a pandemic disease to become large scale in today s era (Macfarlane). Rikki tikki is the hero, in this short story or protagonist, and the antagonist, Nagaina is the viscous, mean one. Rikki helps people and Nagaina is greedy and selfish. This story can possibly have another theme to it. Throughout the story, Rikki tikki tavi ,Rikki tikki represents the good side of the theme in this story. He s protective because he asked Nag if he thought it was right for him to eat fledglings that fall out of a nest. Rikki tikki is also courageous because he isn t afraid to fight Nagaina. In the story, she said, We got the garden all to ourselves and were not sharing with any of you. Woah!!! That was harsh! Nagaina also sent Nag into the house to kill the family while she stayed outside. This too shows how selfish she truly is.The next example shows how Nagaina also threatens the child saying, Son of the big man that killed Nag she hissed, Stay still, because I m not ready yet. If you move I ll strike, and if you, do not move I strike. Nagaina is very determined to fight Rikki tikki because she said I m ready to fight you so get over here. The alternative claim could be courage versus fear. Rikki tikki has courage and Chuchundra has fear. Rikki tikki shows courage in the way he stands up to the cobras, who are the bullies, no matter if he s small or not. Chuchundra shows fear because he s afraid to mess with the bigger bullies so he stays clear and on the outside of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Forrest Hall Building For University Essay I agree with the students who want to change the name of the Forrest Hall Building on MTSU campus, because I think our students have the responsibility as those with the power to change this name since we don t want to our state university to represent something hateful. When MTSU built its ROTC building in 1954, President Smith named it Forrest Hall in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrests reputation as an interpid confederate cavalry leader who won fame with his brilliant raids. Maybe that was Forrest s reputation in 1954, but in 2015 Forrest s reputation becomes one of hate, racism, and violence. We do not want or need that at MTSU. A quick background on Nathan Bedford Forrest, was a lieutenant general in the CSA Army and he was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the mid 1950s, Forrest s image dominated campus life, on decals, bookstore supplies, and campus newspaper Sidelines, not to mention the new ROTC building named Forrest Hall ( also chosen by President Smith ). Students formed a Nathan Bedford Forrest Club, and others sold rebel falgs to boost the school s southern spirit . From 1945 to 1967, That blue Devil rode along the sidelines of MTSU football games at Horace James Field while Dixie played in the stands. In 1962, MTSU classrooms finally integrated with athletic integration coming three years later when the first African American athlete debuted on the track and field team. In 1967, MTSU built a new student center, and on the outside of that building was placed a large seal of the uiniversity s official mascot Nathan Bedford Forrest on horseback. In 1968, Sylvester Brooks Write a sideline I think a lot of the stuff its s history, I mean these things are factual, but they belong in a history book, and they belong in museum, they don t belong in places like that and put them in places where they ought to be at . • 56. Personal Narrative Essay On Cross Country Hmm, I think I ll wake up tomorrow and run 10 miles! , said no non Cross Country runner ever. This is a prime example of why a lot of people don t do it. It is a very rigorous sport that requires a very special type of person to participate in. What kind of people does Cross Country attract? If you asked me, I would say that Cross Country is the toughest, geekiest sport there is. Essentially, Cross Country is a chaotic sport for chaotic people. Although the reputation of Cross Country might be viewed as just a bunch of scrawny, skinny, awkward kids unable to handle the difficulty of real sports like football or sewing, I say with confidence that there is not any other physical activity out there that is as rewarding and painful as Cross Country!... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s a sport for the strange kids of society and loners who don t mind being trapped inside their own heads. It is for those people that can endure the pains of racing. It is also for those that can withstand the mental stress of thinking, Why am I doing this? . During races, there are no dancers with pompoms, no tailgating fans at the finish line, no way of using your semi athletic abilities to land a hot homecoming date. It is a sport for those that search for unrecognized, unappreciated accomplishments. At the end of the day, Cross Country runners don t need fancy equipment, a huge fan base, or a scoreboard to feel good about what they have done. They just reflect on what they have done and accomplished and know that they their hard work will pay ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 57. Collagen is the predominant protein in animal bodies,... Collagen is the predominant protein in animal bodies, constituting approximately 30% of the total protein (Birk Bruckner, 2005; Unlua et al. 2014). It is an extracellular matrix protein that can either directly or indirectly interact with cells to alter cellular activity. At least 27 different types of collagenhave been indentified, correspondingly named types I to XXVII (Birk Bruckner, 2005). Structure Collagen is characterized by the right handed triple helical rod structure which is formed by three left handed helix polypeptide chain. Although the triple helical structure is the main characteristic of collagen, some globular proteins are indentified as collagen due to the repeating trilets and small triple helical rod (Prockop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It includes types I III, V, and XI, which are similar in size, approximately about 1000 amino acids. Network forming collagen is type IV collagens found in basement membranes and type VIII and X collagens. This class of collagen forms net like structures in which monomers associate at the C termini to form dimers and at the N termini to form tetramers. In addition to these end to end interactions, the triple helical domains intertwine to form supercoiled structures. FACIT collagen stands for fibril associated collagen with interrupted triplehelice, which includes types IX, XII, XIV, XVI, and XIX collagens (Prockop Kivirikko 1995; Van Der Rest Garrone 1991). They do not form fibrils themselves but are found attached to the surfaces of preexisting fibrils of the fibril forming collagens. Type VI is the only known collagen that can form beaded filament. The type VI collagen forms a dimer with another type VI collagen with end to end interaction. The globular domain of the type VI collagen dimer forms a tetramer with other type VI collagen dimer. The tetramer further aggregates with another tetramer to form the beaded filament (Prockop Kivirikko 1995). Collagen of anchoring fibrils is composed by type VII collagen. Type VII collagen has two non collagen domain, NC1 and NC2. Type VII collagen forms a dimer with another type VII collagen by the interaction with two NC2 domains. The dimer further aggregates with other dimmers to form fibrils. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
