Guilt In Hamlet Essay
Guilt is not a response to anger, it is a response to one s own action or lack of action the fact that
king claudius killed Hamlet s father and he does nothing about it, through a lack of action this is
how he obtains his guilt. Evidently Dunny from Davies fifth business experiences the same type of
guilt by dodging a snowball intended for him, but injuries Mrs Dempster instead. Although the time
in which guilt was experienced differs greatly, Davies Fifth Business and Shakespeare s Hamletboth
have characters that experience guilt through a lack of action, and face isolation due to it. As a
result, both characters go through an internal conflict regardless of how long they have felt that
guilt.
Dunny and Hamlet experience the same type of guilt but go about different ways of enduring or
solving their problems. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Hamlet s Guilt is not being able to do
anything about his father s death. He is indecisive on what to do for most of the play, weighing
is options out and going back and forth about killing his uncle and how he will go about doing it.
Subconsicley guilt builds up in him and pours out at certain moments in the play. Hamlet does
not understand how to get his revenge which takes over his every thought causing him to feel
frustrated with himself. He is angered by the fact he has not killed his uncle yet and that he will
not take action. peasant slave am I ( Shakespeare 2.2.535) This quote is a paradox, he emphasizes
the struggle he is facing and continuing to shows that he is upset with himself. Hamlet calls
himself the complete opposite of what he is, he is of royalty but compares himself to the lowest
form of life in this time period. It seems though this helps Hamlet understand what he needs to do
and how he should face his guilt, by creating the play that lead him to insure that he will kill his
uncle. After all Hamlet goes through he is still hesitant about what he should do, but he finds hope
in someone to help push himself to conquer the guilt that he is facing. Fortinbras is the person that
helps Hamlet with his guilty conscious, not directly but indirectly. Since Fortinbras had
accomplished what Hamlet is trying to do, he sees him as a inspiration in the situation that

The Us Constitution
Provide the class with the details of the project (location, acres restored, methods used, species
benefited if available, etc.). Be sure to integrate what you find with what you are learning in your
text and other readings and supplement it with additional research.
ALSO, as September 17th is Constitution Day, I want you to reflect on this and comment on it in
your forums for this week. The preamble of the US Constitution directs the Federal Government to
promote the general welfare .... secure the blessings of liberty . ..and protect ourselves and our
posterity . When thinking about our obligation to protect the environment (e.g., plants, animals,
habitat, ecosystem services), can a case be made that we are constitutionally bound to do so based
on the quotes I gave you? What do you think? If so, how does that play into our responsibility to
conserve and restore the environment? If not, why not?
For this week s forum, after searching for wetlands restoration, I found a local wetlands restoration
project that was completed in November 2011 and encompassed an area of 150 acres. The San
Dieguito Wetland Restoration Project included the coastal area of San Dieguito Lagoon and the
San Dieguito River Park estuarine and riverine wetland systems, respectively which serve an
important role in the local ecology. They provide a stop for birds along the Pacific Flyway, nesting
and foraging areas for endangered species and serve as a fish hatchery.

Social Factors Of Indonesia Essay
Social Factors
Demographic dividend (Domestic issue) Positive factor
Indonesia population is 250 million, which on the 5th position over the world (Central Intelligence
Agency, 2014). The majority of the population age is between 14 to 30 years old. So Indonesia
has been seen as a young country with the demographic dividend. It provides more lost cost labour
to boost the economy and requires more job opportunities.
Consumer Culture (Domestic issue) Positive factor
Thompson stated that from a social and cultural point of view to examine the consumption choices
will benefit the country s economy (Thompson, 2005). Therefore the understanding of Indonesian
consumer s behavior is the priority of any investment.
Religion is an important element in Indonesian society. Investors should note that more than 90%
population of Indonesia is Muslim which means the business must not break the Muslim doctrines.
However, individual purchasing power increased with the strong economic growth in the past
decade. The lifestyle of the younger generation changed and easily adopts the western consumer
culture, which reduced the entry cost for foreign investors. For example, the ... Show more content

growth.
As a consequence, how to recruit qualified talents becomes a critical challenge for investors.
Because that nearly 50 million people and most skilled workers are living in the capital area and
Java islands, if companies look for talents outside the capital area will be difficult. Therefore, if
investors wish to set companies outside the Java islands need to take extra considerations.

Annotated Bibliography On Software Firewalls Essay
CHAPTER 6
EXERCISE 1
SOFTWARE FIREWALLS:
A Firewall basically prevents the private network connected to the internet from being accessed by
unauthorized user and therefore handles the traffic of internet. Hardware and software firewalls are
the types of this network security system. It examines the each data in the network and blocks the
data which is not valid and are from unauthorized user. We will discuss here only software firewalls.
Software firewalls:
Software firewall is suitable for the personal computers at home and it is software so it can be
easily installed by the user and then user can easily manage its properties and functions. Thus we
can protect our system form the unauthorized access and also from different harmful viruses. There
are further two types of software firewalls:

Compare and Contrast How the Main Protagonists Experience...
Compare and contrast how the main protagonists experience being outsiders within their
respective societies. The experience of being outsiders is explored by William Shakespeare in
Othello , Emily Bronte in Wuthering Heights and Robert Browning in his Dramatic Monologues.
Shakespeare explores the theme of alienation through a character considered an outsider by the
society in which he lives in. Similarly Emily Bronte explores Heathcliff and the obstacles he faces
at Wuthering Heights. Browning s Dramatic Monologues illustrate the minds of psychotic lovers
who are all possessive and delusional. In all the three texts the outsiders are rejected and are to an
extent responsible for their own position in the society. While some are... Show more content on

The narrator in The Last Ride Together is also rejected by his mistress but in contrast his
acceptance of this makes him dissimilar to the Duke and Heathcliff. In this poem Browning
portrays human success and the limitations people face. Although the lover s life has been meant
for fails , he has accepted his fate with his mistress and so accepts his failure of not being able to
get her as part of his success. Othello on the other hand has major success in wooing Desdemona
which could suggest that the rejection and success these characters receive could reflect the
extent to which they are seen as outsiders. Porphyria s lover is depicted as an outsider like the
Duke but the narrator in this poem is far more psychotic. Browning s use of language indicates
that Porphyria is from a higher class than her lover gay feast , dripping cloak and shawl , soiled
gloves paints an image of a wealthy and independent woman. There is a clear issue of class and
wealth in both of these Browning poems and it seems to be the root of the problems faced by the
lovers. In Wuthering Heights money and power is also a major issue which causes the unfortunate
events endured by the protagonist. When Heathcliff returns to the Heights as a gentleman in dress
and aspect rather than a scavenger , there is a rise in his wealth and power. Although he abuses his
new status to fulfil is evil

Give Me Liberty By Eric Foner Summary
In this excerpt from Eric Foner s Give Me Liberty!, he discusses the significance of religion in the
lives of Native Americans, as well as the social relations of Native Americans and the freedom and
liberty they attempted to acquire. As mentioned in the previous discussion, certain tribes in North
America were diverse. Although, they shared a common ideal and that was religion. Despite what
most of us may think, their religion was not quite different to those of Europeans. Moreover,
owning property was also something Native Americans believe as being a common resource, not an
economic commodity, whereas in the United States, the only people that owned land and property
were white males. Like every society, social status played a major role in determining one s
reputation. For instance, kindness and trade were valued tremendously. In addition, the Native
Americans valued attributes like generosity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women s lives were different compared to other countries because women were open to do such
tasks, premarital sex, marriage, and divorce. Men, on the other hand, contributed in communities
by hunting and played a sort of role model of what a successful leader is like. Society wasn t
really a patriarch yet because women contributed in religious ceremonies as tribal leaders. Because
of these different ideals and beliefs, the Europeans perceived the Native Americans as noble
savages, as opposed to their first encounter describing them as beautiful of stature and build.
However, as time went on, so did the Europeans desire for conquest, which resulted in the
conquering of their lands. The Native Americans were then forced to do labor and like many
endured throughout history, they were mistreated. The arrival of the Europeans started the
promotion of a patriarchal society, having women do housework and men taking authority
ultimately taking some freedom away from the Native

Phaedo Socrates Research Paper
However, Socrates views went beyond these societal barriers by encouraging the practice of open
mindedness. I firmly believe that Socrates is an admirable and inspirational figure to both
philosophers and the people through his use of words throughout the dialogues of Plato.
One of Socrates main argument that changed the way I looked at a particular subject was in the
dialogue, Phaedo which explains that the soul is alive prior to being born and it stays alive long
after you die. This made me contemplate about the afterlife, as I thought when you die theres
nothing left, but Socrates justifies that the soul is immortal. This changed my perception about the
meaning of life, the soul, and what does it means to die. The fear of death is such

Medicare And The Elderly Of The United States
The quantity of Medicare eligible individuals continues to grow as the median age of the
population of the United States rises. The old Medicare system has become outdated and strained
because of the volume of individuals that are currently receiving benefits within the program. Since
the enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicarehas become the main source of
delivering healthcare insurance for the elderly of the United States. In order to meet the current
requirements of the ACA, Medicare must be reformed in order to provide the promised services for
the individuals that are currently receiving benefits and for the future survival of the program.
Medicare was established by the federal government to provide healthcare insurance initially for
the elderly and included the disabled a few years after the program s inception. As of 2013, there
were 52.3 million beneficiaries of Medicare, with an average of $11,910 spent on each individual
for healthcare, with a total annual budget of $582.9 billion (NCPSSM, 2015). Medicare is funded
through two trust fund accounts that are held by the U.S. Treasury: the Hospital Insurance (HI) and
Supplementary Medical Insurance (SMI) Trust Funds (Medicare.gov, 2015). These trust funds are
financed by payroll deductions, Social Security benefit taxes, premiums paid by Medicare
beneficiaries, interest from investments, and funds furnished by Congress (Medicare.gov, 2015).

Bernini Vs Michelangelo Essay
Art has always played an enormous role in history. Historical art has frozen in time events and
ways of life in different time periods so that we may learn and understand how our history has
evolved over hundreds of years. Two well known historical art periods are the Baroque and
Surrealist, which contrast each other significantly in style and are from two different time
periods. One such piece of art from the Baroque time period was the sculpture of David. This
sculpture was actually created by two different artists. Gianlorezo Bernini and Michelangelo s
versions of the sculpture of David are very different in comparison. In Chapter 10, Sayre suggests,
Bernini s sculpture of David commissioned by a nephew of Pope Paul V, appears to be an
intentional contrast to Michelangelo s sculpture of the same subject (Sayre 310). There are many

Surrealism as a literacy movement. Surrealists believed in the idea of new art instead of anti art .
Breton and Picasso argued that Picasso had showed the way to Surrealist art in his Les Demoiselles

System through the Department of Homeland Security, and the management system connecting the
support entities. Additionally, it will cover the response to the terrorist attacks of 9/11, and the
response to Hurricane Katrina. Specifically, this paper will look into a few areas where
emergency response has failed and why. Furthermore, it will look at lessons learned from failings
associated with these responses. Finally, this paper will look at what emergency response methods

There were six original agencies that combined together to create what is recognized today as
FEMA. FEMA is in charge of coordinating and managing relief efforts for large, and/or lesser
scale disaster efforts. When FEMA is notified into action, it sets in motion a wide range of entities
that collaborate together to provide assistance. Roughly, a few types of assistants that are set into
motion would include financial and physical support.
When FEMA is called into action, they utilize a specific system called the National Incident

systematic way of coordination between the public and private sectors to manage response efforts
for several types of incidents to aid in preventing loss of life and damage. It is also designed as a
standard, cooperate tool used for managing incidents. The concepts contained herein provide for a
flexible but standardized set of incident management practices with emphasis on common

Circus Persuasive Speech
Summarize Written Text 1. A herd of elephants flies past you at sixty miles perhour, followed by
a streak of tigers, a pride of lions, and a bunch of clowns. What do you see? It must be a circus
train! One of the first uses of the circus train is credited to W.C. Coup. He partnered with P.T.
Barnum in 1871 to expand the reach of their newly combined shows using locomotives. Before
circus trains, these operators had to lug around all of their animals, performers, and equipment
with a team of more than 600 horses. Since there were no highways, these voyages were rough
and took a long time. Circuses would stop at many small towns between the large venues.
Performing at many of these small towns was not very profitable. Because of these limitations,
circuses could not grow as large as the imaginations of the operators. After they began using circus
trains, Barnum and Coup only brought their show to large cities. These performances were much
more profitable and the profits went toward creating an even bigger and better circus. Multiple
rings were added and the show went on. Today, Ringling... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You guessed it: it s a ninja! Perhaps the only thing more elusive than a ninja is the source of the
word ninja. In China ninja are more often referred to as shinobi. The Chinese word shinobi, short
for shinobi no mono, means to steal away. The word shinobi appears in Chinese poems as far
back as the eighth century. So how did this word become ninja? Some believe that during the
Edo period in Japan, the word shinobi no mono was appropriated and transformed to the very
similar word ninja. This probably happened because it was a lot quicker and easier to just say
ninja. It is difficult to see how such a transformation could have occurred when we look at the
words using our alphabet, but if you look at the kanji representing these words, it may make more

Section 8 Housing Case Study
I chose to focus on the rent voucher/section 8 housing, because it is very common in my town
and the surrounding towns I grew up in. Section 8 housing was created to help those who could
afford housing, particularly for those who are low income. Voucher housing better known as
section 8 housing allows low income people to live in a private market housing unit, the landlord,
who is in a contract with the government, is not allowed to take anymore than 30% of your income
for rent (Palen, 255). In 2000, there were more than 1.4 million families that lived in section 8
housing, but many families could not find apartments that they could afford to qualify, because
their income was to high (Palen, 255). Because of the lack of section 8 apartments the Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has increased the amount of apartments open to receive
section 8 housing (Palen, 255). Although section 8 housing is very popular for developers and
business people, many section 8 housing apartments have had many tough times because of
dishonest officials (Palen, 255). The construction of new low income housing has seen its share of
failures in the past , which is why rent vouchers tend to be more common rather than building a
whole low income housing unit that could... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Supernatural in The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
If you can get past most of the superficial and unlikeable characters in The Picture of Dorian
Gray, this story does indeed have its place in the horror genre. While I understand the setting and
the characters were a reflection of the actual class distinctions during the Victorian time period, I
found the shallowness and narcissism of Dorian Gray and his circle of acquaintances tedious.
Fops came to mind more than once along with don t these people have a purpose other than to
dine out and indulge themselves? Even the women were for the most part portrayed as imbeciles.
It almost hurt to read the section in chapter four where Lord Henry s wife appears for the first and

It is interesting to note that he doesn t ask for it to show his sins, only take on his aging. The
painting gets progressively more horrible throughout the story, but it is not just aging it shows,
it seems to portray an awful decay. Dorian uses a mirror to compare himself to the painting (one
that Lord Henry gave him) and seems to take pleasure in his corruption: ...looking now at the
evil and aging face on the canvas, and now at the fair young face that laughed back at him from
the polished glass. The very sharpness of the contrast used to quicken his sense of pleasure. He
grew more and more enamored of his own beauty, more and more interested in the corruption of
his own soul ... wondering sometimes which were the more horrible, the signs of sin or the signs
of age (Wilde 106). The use of the mirror further points out his narcissism. This is also the same
mirror that he crushes under his feet the night he tries to kill the painting. The devil is suggested
a couple of times (and I may have missed more instances). Once by the woman at the bar talking
to James Vane: They say he has sold himself to the devil for a pretty face (Wilde 160). I think the
more important reference was by Basil Hallward in viewing the painting the night Dorian killed
him: Christ! What a thing I must have worshipped! It has the eyes of a devil (Wilde 131). Last but
not least is the role Lord Henry played with the corruption

What s Good About Palestine
What s Good About Palestine
Palestine s attributes; like the atmosphere, culture, and cuisine cause it to be a great country. I
have lived in both America and Palestine for a very long time so I have enough knowledge about
the two to differentiate between them. I was born and raised in Palestine so, of course, it holds a
special place in my heart. Palestine is not perfect, just like any other countries there are some bad
things about it, but the good qualities outweigh the bad ones.
The people in Palestine are some of the friendliest, most enthusiastic people I have ever met.
Whether you are sitting on your front porch, shopping for groceries, or out taking a walk, if
anyone walks past you, they will stop and say hello and have a conversation with you. There s
something refreshing about a friendly hello in Palestine, I do not that feel here in America. People
here are not as friendly as the ones in Palestine. Sometimes when I am out in America, I smile at
people and they do not even smile back here. You can feel that Palestinian peopleare genuinely
nice; they greet each other, they have small talk, and they care about the well being of one another,
unlike the people in America. Palestinian people do not discriminate against race or religion, or
differentiate between social status. You can always count on Palestinian people to invite to their
house and over feed you with sweets, because that truly is Palestinian hospitality.

expand; Jakarta, Indonesia may be one such option. As the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta has
experienced an economic upturn in the past decade. Their new presence in the global market has
peaked interests in several firms М¶ this one included. While this interest may appear to make
Jakarta a favorable opportunity for expansion, the area is not without barriers. Generally accepted
business practices in Indonesia, specifically Jakarta, appear typical of other Southeast Asian
countries. Individual ethnic and religious populace is marginally more diverse in relation to
surrounding areas, with predominant backgrounds accounting for a considerable portion of
corporate decorum. Research from agencies to include the Central Intelligence Agency, the U.S.
Embassy in Jakarta, national news media, and doctoral proposals corroborate all inferences. By
utilizing these resources, and based on the three examined topics of communication, business and
social interaction, and common business protocol, a final recommendation on expansion
practicality will be articulated.
Communication and Language Correct use of language and communicative techniques is vital
when interacting with Jakarta residents. Understanding both verbal and non verbal indicators may

Similarities Between Stalin And Hitler
Stalin and Hitler: Similarities and Difference Stalin and Hitler emerged when political and
economic instability had crippled the USSR and Germany in the 1920s. They began making
improvements which encouraged their people to believe that a prosperity awaited them. This
notion would unfortunately turn out as an illusion. Both figures would eventually rule by decree.
Despite treading on different paths of dictatorship, both figures still find some commonalities. Two
prominent differences would certainly come to mind when distinguishing Stalin and Hitler. The
first notable difference lies in the fact that both men had reigned over different territories. Stalin

Hitler and Stalin had created the Gestapo and NKVD respectively (Waugh, 2001). Both
organizations consisted of thugs whose sole duty was to purge those deemed disloyal by their
respective totalitarians (Feeney, 2014). Such ruthlessness would result in people becoming too
intimidated to voice their dissatisfaction against the state (Feeney, 2014). They also utilized
propaganda to strengthen their influence over their peoples lives (Feeney, 2014). This became
evident when Stalin and Hitler used propaganda to glorify themselves and to criticize Western
ideals (Waugh, 2001). This enabled them to rule with an iron fist (Feeney, 2014). With this
achieved, both men would then their sights on world domination (McAleavy, 2002). In conclusion,
Stalin and Hitler are separated by their ideologies and geographical boundaries. In addition, they
uniquely vary from each other in terms of how they consolidated power in their respective nations.
However, the resemblance shared by their ability to subdue their people cannot be downplayed.
Both figures were ultimately reckoned as tyrants responsible for mass atrocities which still haunts

Why A College Education Should Be Free
Foundations of Writing
Argument Paper
Aby Adams
Why Education should be free Everyone needs education if they plan to go anywhere in their
future. Even as teenagers, education is so important. It prepares teenagers for their future and
college education. But it is so expensive. Once one graduates from high school they re off on their
own paying their own expenses on top of all the college education expenses. Education is so
expensive, especially in today s world. So why is it not free yet? First off, if education was free,
college students wouldn t be in so much debt. The average college student graduates college with
$60,000 in debt. Today college students are highly in debt, and some are in debt for the rest of

1Was Silvio the right choice for general manager of SchindlerВЎВ¦s India operations? Why/Why
not ВЎV give details.
This question can be answered by taking following 3 things in consideration.
1.1SilvioВЎВ¦s characteristics
This can be better explained by detailing his strengths and weaknesses.
1.1.1Strengths:
As per Luc Bonnard, they trust him 100%, he has courage, he is young and flexible, he is
generalist not specialist, and willing to go to India.
So here is the list of his strengths with the reason why this strength makes him the right candidate
for the mentioned job.

When this is compared with the business plan, we can say it is clearly not on track. Based on this
information we can conclude that the work was not done as per the plan and so the work was not
good.
If we just look at the end result, we may overlook the best management team that Mr. Napoli had
created. We may also overlook the groundwork Mr. Napoli had done for the start up in India.
„ÏSummary:
After carefully evaluating all the 3 points mentioned above, I can conclude that Mr Napoli was
certainly a good choice for the job looking at his strengths as his past experience and
qualifications. In my view the problem was with the aggressive business plan. I can see 2 flows
with the business plan.
„«It was very aggressive. 50 units in the first year considering the new location, new setup, new

people die each year from conditions caused by poor air quality (Danelski, 2016). When compared
to our neighboring cities and counties our death rate is significantly higher. While both local and
state governments have enforced many different regulations to combat air pollution. Point Sources

levels of sulfur, nitrogen oxides, and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
The second significant point source for air pollution is wildfires. In 2017 alone, there were 7,117

In our society there are costs both socially and culturally for individuals who choose to violate their
own gender and/or sex norms. We live in a time when, though great advancements have been made,
gender roles are still differentiated out from each other with specific behavior and lifestyle
expectations built into our value system and ascribed to individuals. The past decade has seen a
growing move away from such distinct male/female expectations, however in areas such as sport

Things changed though, with technology. More and more it was necessary for women to work and
become involved in the public sphere. Out of circumstances they were becoming fiercer, and more
competitive. This challenged the traditional roles women were required to fill and gradually,
women fought back. They began to reclaim themselves and their rights not just in the domestic or
private sphere, but in a public realm as well. They demanded equal rights both in terms of politics
and opportunity. This meant they wanted equal opportunity in everything education, the job
market, and sports.
Title 9 guaranteed these rights. In paper, it guaranteed these rights. In reality, it was still a battle for
women to identify themselves as serious athletes and be taken seriously. It was getting easier

sport. The advancements made opened many opportunity and also many peoples minds. There are
still many problems though, as to where sports and athletics can be allowed to merge with
femininity, masculinity, and traditional gender roles.
The world of sports highlights the problems that still exist for women as well as problems with

Sports goggles come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials. How do you find the right goggles

Tips for Selecting Sports Goggles

All sports lenses should have an anti scratch coating. It is very easy for untreated polycarbonate

keeps the wearer seeing cleaning.
Select a tinting that is appropriate to your sport. For example, if you are going to be doing

Do Video Games Cause Violence And How Does Video Games...
Many people think video games can cause violence. Most of the people reading this would say
yes, that video games do cause violence because a lot of times you see video games connect with
violence on the news, but how often are video games the main reason that the act of violence
someone caused happened. But what is video gameviolence and how do these scientists classify it?
Most importantly how do you measure aggression? There have been 300 studies give or take
between 2005 to 2013. That s on average 37.5 studies per year over eight years. Yet none has
yielded a good answer on if video games cause violence or not. When it comes down to the risk
factors of violence ВЁno single risk factor consistently leads a person to act out their
aggression.ВЁ(Tibi Puiu) Most of these studies were on a time of two to three hours a day.
Along with all of these studies there have been four meta analysis. Meta analysis is a statistical
analysis that combines groups of similar data usually to show the effect size. With all of this
data surely the world would get a good firm answer. Nope, the research has yet to show a causal
relationship. Among kids between the ages of 12 and 17 97% play some sort of game with
violence. (Susan Scuttl) Now violent games can be seen as violent by one person and
nonviolent by another. It s all on perspective People who want to blame video games for real life
violence point to a literary that a person would believe supplies evidence to the association.
Counter claim can be reading a sad book would lead a person to sad thoughts but people say that
this doesn t cause depression. Dr. Christopher Ferguson a professor at Stetson University studies
103 young adults who were randomized to play no video game, a non violent video game, a

He found that those kids who had history of playing violent video games had fewer hostile feeling

A Research Study On Sordaria Fimicola
Introduction
Sordaria fimicola is a commonly studied species of fungi from the phylum of Ascomycota,
commonly known as the sac fungi or ascomycetes. Sordaria is more specifically studied in many
mycology labs to gain a greater understanding of the exceptional formation of as many as 8
haploid ascospores. Normally Sordaria and other fungi exists as a haploid organism, but
occasionally when the mycelium from two individuals meet, a diploid zygote is formed. The
diploid cell is formed by the fusion of the haploid wildtype and one of the haploid mutant strain.
After DNA replication, we are left with two sister chromatids connected with a centromere. During
meiosis a process called synapsis occurs. Synapsis allows matching up of two homologous pairs of
chromosomes prior to their segregation, and possible genetic recombination amongst them by
breaking and then reconnecting to the other chromosome thus allowing for crossing over to occur.
The further away a gene is from the centromere, the more frequently the crossing over can occur.
Both meiosis I and meiosis II generates four haploid products, and after one further round of
mitosis, eight products are formed and all retained as haploid together forming a reproductive
structure called a perithecium.
Genetic recombination can ultimately lead to the production of traits in the new generation that
differ from those found paternally or maternally. One of the benefits of synapsis (or chromosomal
crossover) is the formation of new

Reflection Of Writing Poetry
I have always been interested in systems and structures. As a child I enjoyed the challenge of
writing poetry, the intense structures mirrored in sentence fragments and the chaos of words.
Somewhere along the way this semester I remember listening in on a conversation about
rhyming words, we are obsessed with rhyming. As a lover of poetry I began to ponder why we
love rhyming words so much, my conclusion is that it gives a through line of sound in a chaotic
language. Education is much like poetry, it finds itself grounded in structure but there are little
nuances along the way that allow chaos to form, shifting the ideal into reality. As said by John
Dewey in 1916 in Democracy and Education, ... there is a kind of passivity, willingness to let
experiences accumulate and sink in and ripen which is essential of development... we are all
instructors to realize that quality of mental process, not the production of correct answers, is the
measure of educative growth... (Allen, 2011, p.30). If my brain was a filing cabinet at the start of
the semester everything I thoughtit knew got thrown on the floor, as time passed and I organised my
thoughts new documents began to find their way into the piles, changing the system that was
previously created. Growth, reflection and perception have dominated my thought processes this
semester, the through line is assessment. Assessment regarding learningbut also assessment as
reflection of thought, convergent, divergent and lateral modes of thinking. The three modes of
thinking are as follows described in teachthought.com, convergent being logical and critical
thinking, Divergent being imaginative and creative thinking and lastly, lateral being both
convergent and divergent in balance with each other equalling thinking outside the box (Staff,
2017). When reflecting on my semester it is important to me to consider all areas of growth in my
journey. From the flow of chaos in the classroom to the filing cabinet that holds all my theory and
the mode of thought that I approach my daily activities with.
Understanding the pragmatics of something requires us to first go to the roots, the classroom
culture. At the beginning of the semester I thought of culture being how an external

What Is The Difference Between Phonetics And Phonology
English linguistics has many specialties. Whereas semantics about sentence interpretation and

The similarity between them is that they are both a branches of linguistics and the two is dealing
with the sounds structure and human speech sounds. Moreover, they are used in language
development, mostly in development of transcription and orthography, and it also said that
phonology begins from where phonetics ends which means that phonology is a continuation of
phonetics. Therefore, without one the other cannot exist. So when we move to the difference

The Culture And Customs Of Ghana
Textile industry for centuries has played an important role in most West African societies. It has
been also a form of art that can give us information about the history of African s countries. The
materials used, the patterns, and the colors of the clothes can be associated with specific
communities. For example, Kente clothes are made from cotton, silk, and raffia. Salm and Falola
claim that, The cultures and customs of Ghana today are a product of diversity in indigenous form,
influenced by a long history of Islamic and European contacts. They represent a dynamic process of
adoption and adaptation, incorporating elements of outside cultures.
The Ghana Boy tunics are a good example of how African artists combined elements of traditional
African work with European elements. They are made in bright colors, and incorporate abstract
symbols of Western commodities and styles. This type of cloth clearly announces that people had
been abroad and know other cultures and languages.
This paper intends to show a comparison between two important symbols of the Ghanaian people s
history, the smocks and the Kente clothes, and it will be focused on the textile industry and their
makers.
The research questions developed for this study are:
In which part of Ghana are these two Ghanaian textiles usually worn?
Do these two different Ghanaian textile styles serve the same function?
What are the Challenges Ghana s textile industry has been facing during the last years?

Political Importance Of Gandhi
Reflection 3
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an important figure in the history of South Asia of the
twentieth century, Based on your readings, assess the political importance of Gandhi and compare
Metcalf`s approach with that of Jalal and Bose.
In the time of colonization, emerged a great number of political and religious figures that have had
a profound impact on the people of India, many of them are to this day remember as national
heroes. Perhaps the most famous of them all was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who albeit being
targeted by controversies by some historians, has been a hero for the Indian community.
Gandhi was very different form the other leaders of that era, He was not just a political figure but
also a humanitarian and spiritual leader, He was called Mahatma which means Great Soul .One
with an uncanny ability to connect with a common man which is perhaps why his movements had
such a good following. One other thing which distinguished Gandhi was the fact that his ideology
was not limited to a single community or country. His commandments of non violence and peace
could be applied anywhere in the world and would`ve been just as effective. One such example is
of Adul Ghaffar Khan, the North West Frontier had a reputation for violence and aggression, the...

The peasants of UP had no hesitation, in Gandhi s name, in looting bazaar and attacking
landlords and in February 1922, an incident took place in a police station in Chauri Chaura, in
which 22 Indian policemen got killed, so Gandhi called off his non cooperation movement. This
further proves the fact that Gandhi was true to his word, as it is not easy to call off such a huge

Conbolism In The Symbols Of The Hamburger Mary s
Hamburger Mary s. According to Mrs. Young (2017), the rainbow can be displayed in the form of
a sticker, tattoo, or flags (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). There is also a symbol
of the LGBTQ community that is not as commonly known. Per Mrs. Young (2017), there is a
yellow equal symbol with a blue background (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). I
have seen this symbol becoming popular as a bumper sticker on automobiles. Mrs. Young (2017)
also talked about the sexual symbols such as two women and two men, as well as the puns. The
puns can include Gaydar and Born this way slogans (Young, personal communications, June 26,
2017). With artifacts being expressed openly other members of the subculture are aware of the
shared subculture of which they are a part of. When members of the subculture find out about a new
member it does not make them instant friends. According to Mrs. Young (2017), many people that
are not a part of the subculture make the huge misconception that everyone that is in the subculture
knows one another. Furthermore, those that are a part of the subculture make friends the same way
as those outside of the subculture. Just because another person is LGBTQ does not make them
instant friends (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). The LGBTQ is an increasingly
known subculture. The members of the subculture not only have their own functions, but they also
make an impact in our Colorado community. I have noticed the impact of the subculture becoming
well known and is still on the rise of recognition.
There are bars, parades, community gatherings, and even restaurants that are available to the
public for those involved in LGBTQ. According to the Hamburger Mary s website (2017),
Hamburger Mary s is a restaurant that is open to the LGBTQ community and the public. This is
currently a Local restaurant located in Denver, Colorado, as well as, sixteen other locations in the
United States (Hamburger Mary s, 2017). The restaurant chain is available in many locations,
making it clear that the LGBTQ subculture is larger than Colorado alone. Furthermore, the
restaurant is open to the public, not just the LGBTQ subculture. When I was at the Denver location

Music And Its Influence On Music
Introduction:
Music is a very telling form of expression. Whether it is the lyrics themselves, the tone in which
they re said or the rhythm of the music, there are many methods in which music expresses the artist
s opinion to his audience. The introduction of new methods of expression in music by tinkering
with old methods are how new musical ideas are discovered. In the past, Miles Davis explorations
into jazz fusion and modal jazz music pushed the envelope. Now, Kanye West s explorations
through samples, orchestration and rhythms shape the direction of music.
For both Miles Davis and Kanye West, the fields of music (Jazz and Hip Hop) in which they have
had most of their influence are considered to be predominantly dominated with ... Show more

It accomplishes this through providing first hand quotes from Miles himself as well as quotes from
other jazz musicians around Miles, thus also establishing its creditbility.
Perhaps the most useful source of evidence comes from the quote French jazz pianist RenГ©
Urtreger: Miles was proud and touched by the fact that in France, jazz was considered to be very
important music . For in this quote we get a context about just how important jazz is to Parisian
culture. This can speak to our claim that Miles, along with other black music artists, fit into the role
of entertainment to the French. It is only in contexts where the French/ whites decide where black
can gain economic success and recognition. In this instance, it was in the case of Jazz where the
French deemed important and where Miles crossed over into perfectly.
This source also provided some background as to the decreased popularity of Jazz music in
American culture during the same time period with historical information. Yet despite all the
economic success and fame obtained in Paris, Miles s opinion on Paris seemed to be a negative
one as evident in his soundtrack for the film noir Ascenseur pour l Echafaud (Lift to the Scaffold),
evidence introduced in the article but will be discussed later in another source.

Transforming Species Into Molecular Biology
Transforming Species into Molecular Biology Between 1850 and 1950, the definition of what
science was and what it could become radically changed through means of breakthrough theories,
ideas and experimentations from scientists exploring the realms outside of the traditional religious
views. The method of how science was conducted drastically altered as well. The development of
new technologies allowed scientists to step away from simple observation, towards more
sophisticated and complex research. Through those influential hundred years, one question
remained, what is life? And how do we appropriately characterize it? Because of this, three of
sciences revolutionary icons approached their respective inquiries in different manners. All three
men used outside correspondences with their peers to help them develop their own assumptions and
eventually revolutionizing the concept of science. Watson and Crick s work, along with Darwin s
represent some of the greatest alterations of scientific thought and development of current common
beliefs. In this disquisition, I will provide a brief biography of these men as well as their respective
influences and the types of methods they used to create their deep seated ideas. For example,
Darwin found inspiration from previous scientists such as Linnaeus, Buffon, Malthus, Cuvier, and
Lyell. men. These helped shape how Darwin thoughtfully and deeply observed the environment.
Watson and Crick also compounded data from vying peers, such

The operating review of the company lists down the operating losses that the company faced
over year and compared it with the past years operating performance. The results suggest that the
sales revenue for the company grew over the year; however, due to higher increase in the cost of
sales the company had to face a higher gross loss than the past year (Refer to appendix A).
Moreover, the company discontinued its noncore retailing operations for the year in an attempt to
reduce the losses sustained in the past year, but the result was not positive, and the company had to
face higher loss from its core business in 2010 then both the operations combined in the past year
(JJB Sports PLC, 2011).
The KPI s did not provide a better picture for the company except for showing growth in revenues
and gross margin, and all the results were unsatisfactory (Appendix B). The net loss per share also
rose to 61.8 pence per share from the last year figure of 20.84 pence per share.
The key risks that the company faces are economic conditions, competition, key employees,
suppliers, availability of credit, financial risks, business continuity, revenue dependence, cost
saving, leased property portfolio, as well as, some other minor risks. The amount of risks faced by
the company is high, and the realization of those risks is a good possibility in light of the
performance of the company.

  • 2. Guilt In Hamlet Essay Guilt is not a response to anger, it is a response to one s own action or lack of action the fact that king claudius killed Hamlet s father and he does nothing about it, through a lack of action this is how he obtains his guilt. Evidently Dunny from Davies fifth business experiences the same type of guilt by dodging a snowball intended for him, but injuries Mrs Dempster instead. Although the time in which guilt was experienced differs greatly, Davies Fifth Business and Shakespeare s Hamletboth have characters that experience guilt through a lack of action, and face isolation due to it. As a result, both characters go through an internal conflict regardless of how long they have felt that guilt. Dunny and Hamlet experience the same type of guilt but go about different ways of enduring or solving their problems. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Hamlet s Guilt is not being able to do anything about his father s death. He is indecisive on what to do for most of the play, weighing is options out and going back and forth about killing his uncle and how he will go about doing it. Subconsicley guilt builds up in him and pours out at certain moments in the play. Hamlet does not understand how to get his revenge which takes over his every thought causing him to feel frustrated with himself. He is angered by the fact he has not killed his uncle yet and that he will not take action. peasant slave am I ( Shakespeare 2.2.535) This quote is a paradox, he emphasizes the struggle he is facing and continuing to shows that he is upset with himself. Hamlet calls himself the complete opposite of what he is, he is of royalty but compares himself to the lowest form of life in this time period. It seems though this helps Hamlet understand what he needs to do and how he should face his guilt, by creating the play that lead him to insure that he will kill his uncle. After all Hamlet goes through he is still hesitant about what he should do, but he finds hope in someone to help push himself to conquer the guilt that he is facing. Fortinbras is the person that helps Hamlet with his guilty conscious, not directly but indirectly. Since Fortinbras had accomplished what Hamlet is trying to do, he sees him as a inspiration in the situation that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Us Constitution Provide the class with the details of the project (location, acres restored, methods used, species benefited if available, etc.). Be sure to integrate what you find with what you are learning in your text and other readings and supplement it with additional research. ALSO, as September 17th is Constitution Day, I want you to reflect on this and comment on it in your forums for this week. The preamble of the US Constitution directs the Federal Government to promote the general welfare .... secure the blessings of liberty . ..and protect ourselves and our posterity . When thinking about our obligation to protect the environment (e.g., plants, animals, habitat, ecosystem services), can a case be made that we are constitutionally bound to do so based on the quotes I gave you? What do you think? If so, how does that play into our responsibility to conserve and restore the environment? If not, why not? For this week s forum, after searching for wetlands restoration, I found a local wetlands restoration project that was completed in November 2011 and encompassed an area of 150 acres. The San Dieguito Wetland Restoration Project included the coastal area of San Dieguito Lagoon and the San Dieguito River Park estuarine and riverine wetland systems, respectively which serve an important role in the local ecology. They provide a stop for birds along the Pacific Flyway, nesting and foraging areas for endangered species and serve as a fish hatchery. The basis for this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Compare and Contrast How the Main Protagonists Experience... Compare and contrast how the main protagonists experience being outsiders within their respective societies. The experience of being outsiders is explored by William Shakespeare in Othello , Emily Bronte in Wuthering Heights and Robert Browning in his Dramatic Monologues. Shakespeare explores the theme of alienation through a character considered an outsider by the society in which he lives in. Similarly Emily Bronte explores Heathcliff and the obstacles he faces at Wuthering Heights. Browning s Dramatic Monologues illustrate the minds of psychotic lovers who are all possessive and delusional. In all the three texts the outsiders are rejected and are to an extent responsible for their own position in the society. While some are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The narrator in The Last Ride Together is also rejected by his mistress but in contrast his acceptance of this makes him dissimilar to the Duke and Heathcliff. In this poem Browning portrays human success and the limitations people face. Although the lover s life has been meant for fails , he has accepted his fate with his mistress and so accepts his failure of not being able to get her as part of his success. Othello on the other hand has major success in wooing Desdemona which could suggest that the rejection and success these characters receive could reflect the extent to which they are seen as outsiders. Porphyria s lover is depicted as an outsider like the Duke but the narrator in this poem is far more psychotic. Browning s use of language indicates that Porphyria is from a higher class than her lover gay feast , dripping cloak and shawl , soiled gloves paints an image of a wealthy and independent woman. There is a clear issue of class and wealth in both of these Browning poems and it seems to be the root of the problems faced by the lovers. In Wuthering Heights money and power is also a major issue which causes the unfortunate events endured by the protagonist. When Heathcliff returns to the Heights as a gentleman in dress and aspect rather than a scavenger , there is a rise in his wealth and power. Although he abuses his new status to fulfil is evil ... • 10. Give Me Liberty By Eric Foner Summary In this excerpt from Eric Foner s Give Me Liberty!, he discusses the significance of religion in the lives of Native Americans, as well as the social relations of Native Americans and the freedom and liberty they attempted to acquire. As mentioned in the previous discussion, certain tribes in North America were diverse. Although, they shared a common ideal and that was religion. Despite what most of us may think, their religion was not quite different to those of Europeans. Moreover, owning property was also something Native Americans believe as being a common resource, not an economic commodity, whereas in the United States, the only people that owned land and property were white males. Like every society, social status played a major role in determining one s reputation. For instance, kindness and trade were valued tremendously. In addition, the Native Americans valued attributes like generosity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Women s lives were different compared to other countries because women were open to do such tasks, premarital sex, marriage, and divorce. Men, on the other hand, contributed in communities by hunting and played a sort of role model of what a successful leader is like. Society wasn t really a patriarch yet because women contributed in religious ceremonies as tribal leaders. Because of these different ideals and beliefs, the Europeans perceived the Native Americans as noble savages, as opposed to their first encounter describing them as beautiful of stature and build. However, as time went on, so did the Europeans desire for conquest, which resulted in the conquering of their lands. The Native Americans were then forced to do labor and like many endured throughout history, they were mistreated. The arrival of the Europeans started the promotion of a patriarchal society, having women do housework and men taking authority ultimately taking some freedom away from the Native ... I firmly believe that Socrates is an admirable and inspirational figure to both philosophers and the people through his use of words throughout the dialogues of Plato. One of Socrates main argument that changed the way I looked at a particular subject was in the dialogue, Phaedo which explains that the soul is alive prior to being born and it stays alive long after you die. This made me contemplate about the afterlife, as I thought when you die theres nothing left, but Socrates justifies that the soul is immortal. This changed my perception about the meaning of life, the soul, and what does it means to die. The fear of death is such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Medicare And The Elderly Of The United States The quantity of Medicare eligible individuals continues to grow as the median age of the population of the United States rises. The old Medicare system has become outdated and strained because of the volume of individuals that are currently receiving benefits within the program. Since the enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicarehas become the main source of delivering healthcare insurance for the elderly of the United States. In order to meet the current requirements of the ACA, Medicare must be reformed in order to provide the promised services for the individuals that are currently receiving benefits and for the future survival of the program. Medicare was established by the federal government to provide healthcare insurance initially for the elderly and included the disabled a few years after the program s inception. As of 2013, there were 52.3 million beneficiaries of Medicare, with an average of $11,910 spent on each individual for healthcare, with a total annual budget of $582.9 billion (NCPSSM, 2015). Medicare is funded through two trust fund accounts that are held by the U.S. Treasury: the Hospital Insurance (HI) and Supplementary Medical Insurance (SMI) Trust Funds (Medicare.gov, 2015). These trust funds are financed by payroll deductions, Social Security benefit taxes, premiums paid by Medicare beneficiaries, interest from investments, and funds furnished by Congress (Medicare.gov, 2015). • 13. Bernini Vs Michelangelo Essay Art has always played an enormous role in history. Historical art has frozen in time events and ways of life in different time periods so that we may learn and understand how our history has evolved over hundreds of years. Two well known historical art periods are the Baroque and Surrealist, which contrast each other significantly in style and are from two different time periods. One such piece of art from the Baroque time period was the sculpture of David. This sculpture was actually created by two different artists. Gianlorezo Bernini and Michelangelo s versions of the sculpture of David are very different in comparison. In Chapter 10, Sayre suggests, Bernini s sculpture of David commissioned by a nephew of Pope Paul V, appears to be an intentional contrast to Michelangelo s sculpture of the same subject (Sayre 310). • 15. Circus Persuasive Speech Summarize Written Text 1. A herd of elephants flies past you at sixty miles perhour, followed by a streak of tigers, a pride of lions, and a bunch of clowns. What do you see? It must be a circus train! One of the first uses of the circus train is credited to W.C. Coup. He partnered with P.T. Barnum in 1871 to expand the reach of their newly combined shows using locomotives. Before circus trains, these operators had to lug around all of their animals, performers, and equipment with a team of more than 600 horses. Since there were no highways, these voyages were rough and took a long time. Circuses would stop at many small towns between the large venues. Performing at many of these small towns was not very profitable. Because of these limitations, circuses could not grow as large as the imaginations of the operators. After they began using circus trains, Barnum and Coup only brought their show to large cities. These performances were much more profitable and the profits went toward creating an even bigger and better circus. Multiple rings were added and the show went on. Today, Ringling... In China ninja are more often referred to as shinobi. The Chinese word shinobi, short for shinobi no mono, means to steal away. The word shinobi appears in Chinese poems as far back as the eighth century. So how did this word become ninja? Some believe that during the Edo period in Japan, the word shinobi no mono was appropriated and transformed to the very similar word ninja. This probably happened because it was a lot quicker and easier to just say ninja. It is difficult to see how such a transformation could have occurred when we look at the words using our alphabet, but if you look at the kanji representing these words, it may make more sense to ... Section 8 housing was created to help those who could afford housing, particularly for those who are low income. Voucher housing better known as section 8 housing allows low income people to live in a private market housing unit, the landlord, who is in a contract with the government, is not allowed to take anymore than 30% of your income for rent (Palen, 255). In 2000, there were more than 1.4 million families that lived in section 8 housing, but many families could not find apartments that they could afford to qualify, because their income was to high (Palen, 255). Because of the lack of section 8 apartments the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has increased the amount of apartments open to receive section 8 housing (Palen, 255). Although section 8 housing is very popular for developers and business people, many section 8 housing apartments have had many tough times because of dishonest officials (Palen, 255). The construction of new low income housing has seen its share of failures in the past , which is why rent vouchers tend to be more common rather than building a whole low income housing unit that could... The Supernatural in The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde If you can get past most of the superficial and unlikeable characters in The Picture of Dorian Gray, this story does indeed have its place in the horror genre. While I understand the setting and the characters were a reflection of the actual class distinctions during the Victorian time period, I found the shallowness and narcissism of Dorian Gray and his circle of acquaintances tedious. Fops came to mind more than once along with don t these people have a purpose other than to dine out and indulge themselves? Even the women were for the most part portrayed as imbeciles. The painting gets progressively more horrible throughout the story, but it is not just aging it shows, it seems to portray an awful decay. Dorian uses a mirror to compare himself to the painting (one that Lord Henry gave him) and seems to take pleasure in his corruption: ...looking now at the evil and aging face on the canvas, and now at the fair young face that laughed back at him from the polished glass. The very sharpness of the contrast used to quicken his sense of pleasure. He grew more and more enamored of his own beauty, more and more interested in the corruption of his own soul ... wondering sometimes which were the more horrible, the signs of sin or the signs of age (Wilde 106). The use of the mirror further points out his narcissism. This is also the same mirror that he crushes under his feet the night he tries to kill the painting. The devil is suggested a couple of times (and I may have missed more instances). Once by the woman at the bar talking to James Vane: They say he has sold himself to the devil for a pretty face (Wilde 160). I have lived in both America and Palestine for a very long time so I have enough knowledge about the two to differentiate between them. I was born and raised in Palestine so, of course, it holds a special place in my heart. Palestine is not perfect, just like any other countries there are some bad things about it, but the good qualities outweigh the bad ones. Whether you are sitting on your front porch, shopping for groceries, or out taking a walk, if anyone walks past you, they will stop and say hello and have a conversation with you. There s something refreshing about a friendly hello in Palestine, I do not that feel here in America. People here are not as friendly as the ones in Palestine. • 36. Do Video Games Cause Violence And How Does Video Games... Many people think video games can cause violence. Most of the people reading this would say yes, that video games do cause violence because a lot of times you see video games connect with violence on the news, but how often are video games the main reason that the act of violence someone caused happened. But what is video gameviolence and how do these scientists classify it? Most importantly how do you measure aggression? There have been 300 studies give or take between 2005 to 2013. That s on average 37.5 studies per year over eight years. Yet none has yielded a good answer on if video games cause violence or not. When it comes down to the risk factors of violence ВЁno single risk factor consistently leads a person to act out their aggression.ВЁ(Tibi Puiu) Most of these studies were on a time of two to three hours a day. Along with all of these studies there have been four meta analysis. Meta analysis is a statistical analysis that combines groups of similar data usually to show the effect size. With all of this data surely the world would get a good firm answer. Nope, the research has yet to show a causal relationship. Among kids between the ages of 12 and 17 97% play some sort of game with violence. (Susan Scuttl) Now violent games can be seen as violent by one person and nonviolent by another. It s all on perspective People who want to blame video games for real life violence point to a literary that a person would believe supplies evidence to the association. Counter claim can be reading a sad book would lead a person to sad thoughts but people say that this doesn t cause depression. Dr. Christopher Ferguson a professor at Stetson University studies 103 young adults who were randomized to play no video game, a non violent video game, a violent where they played the good guy, and a violent video game where they played the bad guy . He found that those kids who had history of playing violent video games had fewer hostile feeling during a frustration test. • 37. A Research Study On Sordaria Fimicola Introduction Sordaria fimicola is a commonly studied species of fungi from the phylum of Ascomycota, commonly known as the sac fungi or ascomycetes. Sordaria is more specifically studied in many mycology labs to gain a greater understanding of the exceptional formation of as many as 8 haploid ascospores. Normally Sordaria and other fungi exists as a haploid organism, but occasionally when the mycelium from two individuals meet, a diploid zygote is formed. The diploid cell is formed by the fusion of the haploid wildtype and one of the haploid mutant strain. After DNA replication, we are left with two sister chromatids connected with a centromere. During meiosis a process called synapsis occurs. Synapsis allows matching up of two homologous pairs of chromosomes prior to their segregation, and possible genetic recombination amongst them by breaking and then reconnecting to the other chromosome thus allowing for crossing over to occur. The further away a gene is from the centromere, the more frequently the crossing over can occur. Both meiosis I and meiosis II generates four haploid products, and after one further round of mitosis, eight products are formed and all retained as haploid together forming a reproductive structure called a perithecium. Genetic recombination can ultimately lead to the production of traits in the new generation that differ from those found paternally or maternally. One of the benefits of synapsis (or chromosomal crossover) is the formation of new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The researchers used a questionnaire based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) which was developed to assess individual s perception of susceptibility to illness, severity of illness, costs and benefits of action, and cues to action. Data was collected from 177 New Jersey nurses, attending an emergency care conference, using a 56 question survey. The results were analyzed and compiled into 5 different tables in regards to the susceptibility, role, knowledge and experience of nursing in disaster preparedness and response. A strength of the study was that 79% of the nurses who completed the survey were special certified and 70.5% of the respondents have more than 10 years of experience in emergency nursing. This allowed for the researchers to gather information that was accurate and actually pertained to the population. There were several limitations of the study including, the small sample size and potential demographic bias. • 39. Reflection Of Writing Poetry I have always been interested in systems and structures. As a child I enjoyed the challenge of writing poetry, the intense structures mirrored in sentence fragments and the chaos of words. Somewhere along the way this semester I remember listening in on a conversation about rhyming words, we are obsessed with rhyming. As a lover of poetry I began to ponder why we love rhyming words so much, my conclusion is that it gives a through line of sound in a chaotic language. Education is much like poetry, it finds itself grounded in structure but there are little nuances along the way that allow chaos to form, shifting the ideal into reality. As said by John Dewey in 1916 in Democracy and Education, ... there is a kind of passivity, willingness to let experiences accumulate and sink in and ripen which is essential of development... we are all instructors to realize that quality of mental process, not the production of correct answers, is the measure of educative growth... (Allen, 2011, p.30). If my brain was a filing cabinet at the start of the semester everything I thoughtit knew got thrown on the floor, as time passed and I organised my thoughts new documents began to find their way into the piles, changing the system that was previously created. Growth, reflection and perception have dominated my thought processes this semester, the through line is assessment. Assessment regarding learningbut also assessment as reflection of thought, convergent, divergent and lateral modes of thinking. The three modes of thinking are as follows described in teachthought.com, convergent being logical and critical thinking, Divergent being imaginative and creative thinking and lastly, lateral being both convergent and divergent in balance with each other equalling thinking outside the box (Staff, 2017). When reflecting on my semester it is important to me to consider all areas of growth in my journey. From the flow of chaos in the classroom to the filing cabinet that holds all my theory and the mode of thought that I approach my daily activities with. Understanding the pragmatics of something requires us to first go to the roots, the classroom culture. At the beginning of the semester I thought of culture being how an external ... In the time of colonization, emerged a great number of political and religious figures that have had a profound impact on the people of India, many of them are to this day remember as national heroes. Perhaps the most famous of them all was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who albeit being targeted by controversies by some historians, has been a hero for the Indian community. Gandhi was very different form the other leaders of that era, He was not just a political figure but also a humanitarian and spiritual leader, He was called Mahatma which means Great Soul .One with an uncanny ability to connect with a common man which is perhaps why his movements had such a good following. One other thing which distinguished Gandhi was the fact that his ideology was not limited to a single community or country.
