This document provides information about a 36-month Erasmus+ project investigating micro-credentials from the learner's perspective. The project involves 10 European universities and aims to understand learner motivations and preferences regarding micro-credentials. It will produce reports on the learner perspective based on a systematic literature review and focus groups. The review found interest in micro-credentials has grown in recent years and that learners are mainly motivated by job and career reasons to pursue them. However, more research is still needed to better understand learner preferences regarding characteristics like format, duration and credentialing.
