How Vision Loss Affects Psychosocial Well Being Among The...
Abstract Purpose: to examine how vision loss affects psychosocial well being among the people in
the middle and upper class and how the cope with their visual impairment
The purpose of this study is to understand and discover the psychosocial state and well being for
individuals with vision loss among the upper and middle class. At this stage in the research, the
participants chosen will be asked about their mental state and vision loss, which will be generally
observed through interview questions on PTSD, depression and motivation. Previous studies have
stated that overall poorer mental well being and quality of life was found in visually impaired
people in comparison to fully sighted people (Stevelink Fear 2016).
Method: Qualitative study, interview research questions
Keywords: Visual Impairment, Vision loss, Psychosocial well being, PTSD, depression, motivation

Introduction
Visual impairment is a state wherein an individual experiences difficulty in seeing or not being
able to see anything physical presented to them. According to Mandal, MD (2013) It is a state
where a visually impaired person s eyesight cannot be corrected back to a normal level . Visual
impairment is often associated with old age. In Europe, an estimated 15.5 million people have
visual impairment and in seven countries in Europe, about 50% of blindness is caused by age related
macular degeneration. (Dibb,

The Pros And Cons Of Space Exploration
Space exploration has exploded in the past 56 years. From the first successful satellite mission in
1961, to the first mission space walk in 1969 a to the first time lettuce was grown and eaten in space
in 2015. These are just the beginning steps towards potential space exploration and advancing
technology to the maximum. Although space explorationis now being emphasized on and invested
in, what does this do to benefit earth or even every individual who lives on Earth? Many writers,
engineers, mathematicians, and chemists can agree that space exploration is going to provide
more research for medicine and environmental factors. Others may also argue that the risks of
exploring another planet will be too damaging because the life or atmosphere as it is will not be
the same after humans have made their print on it. Three main clusters that are developed under
this idea of space exploration is the benefits that are gained, ethical code and what it means with
regard to the future of the humanrace. In this paper I will talk about what major projects are being
worked on and who will benefit from these. This will also include what laws of space are and
ethical code. This will also identify the differing viewpoints on space exploration and whether the
big picture is worth the small steps being taken as to advancements in space technology and
sciences. One large project that is being pursued is colonizing marswith a human population. This
will mold the future and newer generations. It can make us question the future and what lies
ahead. It has been said that it will take no more than 50 years to fulfill the colonization of mars.
Ideas such as colonizing another planet is not unheard of and if humans do not consider the
possible impacts in a new environment, this can be detrimental. The article A NASA Funded
engineer s plan to colonize Mars from CNN was written by Kate Springer in 2017. One
statement that made was, I believe building in space is going to become commonplace in less
than 50 years. There s an abundance of energy and materials (in space) all we have to do is
design self replicating factories and build a lot of objects. In a short time, our capability to
manufacture in space will be many

Unlocking Youth Detention
Education and Training Key to Unlocking Youth Detention Crisis
Australia s juvenile detention system is breaking apart. It s time we started seeing our wayward
youth as young people needing support and rehabilitation rather than merely callous criminals to be
punitively punished, degraded and demeaned writes Anna Tran.
A child is beaten and bashed, bruised and battered to the point where he can no longer stand on his
own. It gets worse, much worse. He is teargassed and stripped, hooded and strapped into a
restraining chair. The scene could come straight out of Abu Ghraib Prisonor Guantanamo Bay; in
fact it comes out of our very own youth detention centres on Australian soil.
The world was shocked and Australians shamed when scenes like these were recently broadcast
from the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre in Darwin. Young Australians, under the care of the
State, have been systematically abused, demeaned and degraded in the very institutions built to re
educate and rehabilitate so that they will not reoffend. It s time we took responsibility for our
young offenders and provided them with the knowledge and positive life skills to make it on the
outside.

Soon, we will be hardworking citizens of our society, and wouldn t our taxpayer money be better
spent on improving our community? Sure, it looks like it would cost us a lot more to educate
juveniles on the surface, but in reality it costs less. It costs us soon to be taxpayers $109,782.60
per year or $301.60 each day to keep a juvenile in punitive punishment. While this seems like a
large sum of money, providing them with an education will stop the cycle of crime and therefore

The Green Revolution
In the Industrial Revolution big core countries developed quickly due to their wide use of coal and
them implementing its uses to improve their everyday life. Due to the use of coal factories could
produce more and more finished products which brought down the overall price of goods which
made things more affordable to everyone. The Green Revolution brought many advancements
towards societies in developing countries for many reasons. The new science advancements being
made in agriculturealong with investment from other countries and private companies led to the
economic growth of the country. Overall, these advancements lead to the Green Revolution being
a big success in developing countries. Although, many people will argue that the Green
Revolution wasn t a success in the developing countries and negatively affected the economic
status and environmental safety of the country. Many people say that the green revolution only
benefited the rich people, who are in charge, by getting them richer and the poor laborers only
getting poorer. They also bring up that the run off from the pesticides used to artificially make
the crops went into the rivers and polluted the clean drinking water for the lower class people
leading to many new diseases spreading. However, science advancements in the field of
agriculture and the overall economic growth of the whole country helped the Green Revolution be
a success. The world was struggling with a need for a mass production of food to

Miracles Throughout The Gospel Of Mark
Throughout the gospel of Mark, Jesus preforms miraculous miracles with the help of faith in God.
Jesus s miracles consist of healings, exorcism, feeding/ providing source of hydration, and power
over natural elements(1). Those who don t follow Christianity most likely don t understand the
purpose of these miracles. They might understand that the miracles are good but probably not the
symbolism of each miracle. Miracles are meant to help Christians grow stronger in their faith and
understand the ways of JesusChrist. It is simply impossible to look at it miracle performed by
Jesus and believe that it was completely pointless with no meaning to it. The greatest example of
this is the miracle of feeding the five thousand men alongside

In This Next Step We Uncover The Metaphysical World Around
In this next step we uncover the metaphysical world around us. The first text is About Meditating
on God s Unity, by Bonaventure. In this text we reflect on the idea of being, the all encompassing
state that we fall under in every second of every moment we are doing anything. God, just like us
comes under this category of being, as being comes not just from existence, but rather our essence.
The next text comes from Elizabeth Johnson called Speaking about the Living God, which focuses
on the name of God. God never tells us what God s gender is; only that God is. So by assigning
God a gender we limit the power that God has, by making God only male we limit the feminine
side of God s love as well as those who are uncomfortable with a ... Show more content on

The demon readily believes the fallacy that one s true self comes from taking care of the earthly
body and live an easy life, while Indra finds out that the true atman comes from the disembodied
self, or through living a life without earthly ties.
The final text comes from Huston Smith, a converted Hindu, called The Beyond Within . This
text elaborates more on the Hindu traditions of living a detached life. The best way to live this
way is to embrace the world and all that it has to offer; in this way we can experience the joy and
knowledge of the people and the world around us.
All of these texts share a profound sense of ambiguity. They show us that we can never truly be
sure if our metaphysical assumptions of the world are the correct ones. For example, in the
more religious texts like Bonaventure, Johnson, Smith, and The Chandogya Upanishad we see
various different ideas of who and what comprises god, and oddly enough all of them are
correct. The beauty of ambiguity is that we can t say that one idea about what is is the right
one, because the Hindu appreciation of many gods has just as much proof as the Christian idea
of one God. We also see this in the not so certain idea of the concept of being in texts like
Schrodinger s Cat, and The Allegory of the Cave both of which focus more on our perceptions of
the world. Where we can be so uncertain what actually is the best state for us to be in, one of
forced knowledge and certainty, or

Beethoven Piano Sonata Analysis
Beethoven was one of the most influential composers of the late classical era. Of all the forms of
music he composed one constant during Beethoven s career were his piano sonatas, which were
composed during his early, middle, and late periods. These sonatas far exceeded those created by
composers before and are considered to be the bridge between salon musicand the concert hall for
solo pianorepertoire. The early sonatas follow the same traditions established by Mozart and
Haydn and by the end of the late period are radically different from conventional form. The late
sonatas, Op. 101, 106, 109, 110, and 111, are distinctly different from the other sonatas that came
before in their style, forms, and composition. The pieces that I have chosen are the last five
piano sonatas from Beethoven s late period. These pieces are reflective of the changes of
Beethoven s compositional style as in his older age he began to stretch the limits of the classical
style. The piano sonatas are reflective of what he was doing in all of his later works and are sort
of condensed versions that still show the same ideas. Because piano sonatas were composed
throughout his lifetime, they can be interpreted as a timeline of the changes in Beethoven s style
of composing, particularly in the late sonatas. Beethoven had never been a very rapid composer
and these five sonatas were the chief output of six years of work in the second to last decade of his
life. Beethoven s increasing deafness was a major

Nikolai Kretzsky s Between Shades Of Gray
Did you ever wonder what it means to be a true hero? Nikolai Kretzsky in Between Shades of
Gray, by Ruta Sepetys, shows what it means to be a true hero. The story is about a fifteen year
old girl, named Lina Vilkas, who lived in Lithuania during the time of World War two. She was
deported to many different camps with her brother and mother, while her father was separated
and deported elsewhere. In this novel Nikolai Kretzsky was an NKVD officer that oversaw Lina
s group. Many people debate whether or not Nikolai Kretzsky was a hero or villain. Throughout
the story we see him acting in many heroic ways. In Lina s perspective, Kretzsky was a rude
person, but as the story goes on, we can see that he has some morals. Kretzsky is first introduced

The Nervous System and Sexual Function Essay
The nervous system is divided into three components: the central nervous system, which
encompasses the brain, brain stem, and the spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system, which
includes the sensory receptors and effector muscles and organs in the body, and the autonomic
nervous system which is part of both the peripheral and central nervous systemand controls visceral
and largely unconscious functions (Barker Barasi, 2005). The sexual response activates all these
systems.

Several hypothalamic areas have been shown to modulate erections in rats, including medial
preoptic (MPOA) regions (MacLean, 1996), while Barker and Barasi (2005) s findings suggest the
ventromedial area is the main control centre for the sympathetic nervous system and the lateral
hypothalamic area being the main centre for parasympathetic activation. Steer (2000) reviews
lesion, electrostimulation, and tracing data and identifies two pathways from the hypothalamus to
sacral autonomic centres. The first goes from the dorsomedial hypothalamus through dorsal and
central grey matter, travels to the locus coeruleus, and then projects to the mesencephalic reticular
formation, where descending efferent input is sent through the dorsal columns of the spine down to
the thoracolumbar and sacral autonomic nuclei. The other pathway arises from the dorsomedial and
ventromedial hypothalamus, travels through the ventral and central tegmental regions, the pontine
reticular formation, and the substantia nigra, and finally through the ventrolateral area of the pons
and medula and into the dorsolateral funiculus in the spinal cord. The hypothalamus also has direct
projections from the paraventricular nucleus to the autonomic areas in the spine involved in
erection (Saper et al., 1976) as well the sacral ventral horn, a penile somatic motor nucleus.
Ascending genital sensory input also plays an important role in central

Willia Virtue Based Ethical Theory
Introduction An ethical dilemma exists when a moral decision must be made between two or
more possible scenarios. It is defined as a situation requiring a person to take action or not to take
action based on moral grounds (Braunack Mayer, 2001). In business, such dilemmas occur
frequently as employees, leaders, and organizations, are faced with complex problems that may
impact multiple stakeholders in various ways that are not always equal or equitable. A sound
ethical decision begins with a set of core values that define the person facing the situation (UC San
Diego, 2014). The following case study identifies an ethical dilemma, compares the use of
consequentialist theory and virtue based theory to determine the best decision to make, and
analyzes the results. Ethical Dilemma The head of Potter Candy Corporation, William Potter, is

The Development Of The Psyche
As a child, people are in the most delicate phase of life. They are a freshly budded lily, absorbing all
the light, moisture, and nutrients possible in order to bloom into an adult. These essential
fertilizers predominantly come from their parents, who nurture them into the person they will
become. This unit commonly consists of a motherand father. The mother a symbol of intimacy and
maternal comfort, and the father a symbol of strength and stature. The balance of this yin and yang
is extremely important for the development of the psyche. Having a fatherless childhoodor a
childhood with a degenerate father is common in today s society. The effects of not having a father
figure ripple through childhood and lay roots in the subconscious. There are two types of a
fatherless childhood. Some grow up without a father in their life entirely, without any knowledge of
who he may have been. Others grow up with a father in their life that does more destructive impact
than constructive impact. Some may say that a destructive parent is still a parent to their child, but
arguably a parent without constructive development to their spawn is not a parent at all. This
hollow in a child s life leaves a space for destructive energy to breed. Many challenges adults face
within themselves reflect back into their childhood. The subconscious is the seed left over from the
lily s bloom, which died along with childhood innocence. The fight to gain back said innocence is
the ultimate struggle.

Industrial Revolution and Social Changes
Introduction:
Between 1760 and 1860, technological progress, education, and an increasing capital stock
transformed England into the workshop of the world. The industrial revolution, as the
transformation came to be called, caused a sustained rise in real income per person in England and,
as its effects spread, the rest of the Western world. Historians agree that the industrial revolution
was one of the most important events in history, marking the rapid transition to the modern age, but
they disagree about various aspects of the event. Of all the disagreements, the oldest one is over
how the industrial revolution affected ordinary people, usually called the working classes. One

Britain emerged from the Napoleonic Wars as the only European nation not ravaged by financial
plunder and economic collapse, and possessing the only merchant fleet of any useful size

was further aided by Britain s geographical position an island separated from the rest of mainland
Europe.
Another theory is that Britain was able to succeed in the Industrial Revolution due to the
availability of key resources it possessed. It had a dense population for its small geographical

Carboxylic acids (Lactic, propionic, caproic, acetic, picolinic etc.) are chemicals extensively used
in pharmaceutical, food and other allied industries, as they find diverse application as reactants,
solvents and even as catalysts in a few work instances (Talnikar et al., 2014). These acids when
obtained by fermentation of sugars, the presence of fermentation by products, media impurities
additives like antifoam agents interfere in purification process (Pursell et al., 2009). During
fermentation acids are produced essentially as mixture and mostly dilute solutions are obtained.
Moreover during hetero fermentation the broth contains mixture of acids as final product (Abdel
Rahman et al., 2013).
2.2.Outline of the process for preparation of carboxylic acid from biomass The process for
preparation of carboxylic acid from biomass includes pre treatment and hydrolysis of agricultural
waste to simple sugars. These sugars are than used as raw material for fermentation using
microorganism to produce carboxylic acids. These acids are generated either in form of free

Explain The Panopticon By Michel Foucault
According to Michel Foucault, power is knowledge and knowledge is power. He also believed that
as individuals, everyone will react to situations in different ways. Foucault said that power reaches
into the very grain of individuals, touches their bodies and inserts itself into their actions and
attitudes, their discourses, learning processes and everyday lives. 1 Foucault believed that
knowledgeis always a form of power, but he took it a step further and told us that knowledge can be
gained from power. Through observation, new knowledge is produced. Foucault presents these
thoughts in the following manner.
Knowledge linked to power, not only assumes the authority of the truth but has the power to make
itself true. All knowledge, once applied ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This building allowed the guard, who was usually located in the center tower, to monitor every
prisoner while no prisoner could see the guard. This created an illusion of being monitored even
when the guard was not looking at a particular inmate. This constant observation acted as a control
mechanism; a consciousness of constant surveillance is internalized. According to us, the
documentation of Sijil was similar to a Panopticon prison. It gave the Ottoman state, an ability to
constantly monitor every subject by recording them into Sijils. The documentation of its subjects
and the territorialisation of Sharia law can be considered as the process of govenrmentality (2nd

always knew how, what and when to exercise its power. This How What When represents the
knowledge which is required to yield power and power again gives them the ability to further
observe them and these new observations lead to new knowledge and news ways of exercising
power. Thus it becomes a vicious

The Mining Of Marcellus Shale Industry
The Marcellus Shale Industry in Pennsylvania Despite it s long history of coal, oil, and gas
development, Pennsylvania has seemingly been overcome by the rapidity and scale of production
demonstrated with the recent boom of Marcellus Shale industry, which has companies, workers,
environmentalists, etc. flocking to its northern tier. However, controversy seems to have followed
as the economic criticism of the drilling industry is that it booms and then busts, generating few
local jobs and leaving little lasting economic benefit (Schwartz). Thus making it critically important
not only the economic impact, but also those of social, institutional and environmental now and in
the years to come ( Marcellus Shale ).
Marcellus Shale is geologically defined as a sedimentary rock that is located at least a mile below
the surface and developed approximately 380 million years ago, during Devonian times, in a region
referred to as the Appalachian Basin, which explains its prominence in the northeastern region of
the United States ( What ). But, more importantly, Marcellus is a specific example of natural gas
that contains a substantial concentration of methane, trapped in low permeability shale, which
requires the hydraulic fracturing or fracking ( Marcellus Formation ). The natural gas occurs within
the Marcellus Shale in several ways, including: the pore spaces of the shale, the vertical fractures
that break through the shale, and adsorbed on mineral grains and organic

Dress Code Discrimination
Introduction The way in which females dress has played a large role in the sexualization of girls.
Recently, researchers have observed that the increase in production and marketing of sexy clothing
for females has resulted in the inducement of discrimination and sexualization towards girls
(Harbach, 2016). In the educational setting, these ideas have been laid out in policies such as dress
codes. The main purpose of school dress codes is to reduce disruption by removing the stimulus
that is causing the distraction (Arns, 2017). Moreover, as clothing has induced genderbased
discrimination towards females, their body has become the distraction. However, gender based
discrimination is not the only discrimination present in the dress... Show more content on

In earlier years, those of African American race were the main targets in schools. Gangs were
known to be made up of African American members. This steered schools to make their dress
codes stricter against African Americans in order to prevent and decrease gang violence in
schools (Wilson, 1998). During the 1960 s, immigrants from Mexico rapidly began to migrate to
America. This led to an augmentation in discrimination and exclusion of those of Hispanic race
(Mora, 2008). In recent years, sociologists have suggested that club owners have utilized dress
codes to discriminate against Hispanic and African Americans. The systematic evidence found
that African Americans and Hispanics were denied access to the clubs more often than those of
white race were (Goldsmith, 2017). In recent years, researchers have found that states such as
Oklahoma, Idaho and Florida have increasingly implemented stricter policies restricting natural
Black hairstyles such as dreads and afro puffs (Macon, 2015). On the other hand, in a poll
released last year through NPR by Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health, a majority of whites
say discrimination against them exists in America today (Gonyea, 2017). Notable, however, is that
from those who stated that their race is discriminated upon, a much smaller percentage says that
they have experienced it. Furthermore, racial discrimination seems to be present in every race,

Boston Fire Service Research Paper
Throughout the world, The United States is known to have one of the most aggressive, progressive
and passionate emergency fire services who constantly serve their localities. The fire service has
immensely developed in American culture, starting as early as the 1600 s in Colonial America and
continuing to today in the 21st Century. Firedepartments throughout the world have the similar
goal of protecting and saving life and property, however the United States has taken this to the
most extreme. This vital service to the community has always been and will always be a necessity
to a city in order to guarantee the prosperity of the public.

The City of Boston was the first to then set out to lay the groundwork for a progressing fire service.
In 1653, Boston instituted multiple codes which equipped buildings with firefighting tools and a
central water system. Then, in 1676 a new code issued a requirement for the use of fire resistant
material in building construction. Simultaneously in 1676, Boston purchased the first fire
pumper which would force water, from a tank, out of a hose. The tank in the pumper would
require a supply of water to keep the tank filled. The fire department had no way of obtaining a
constant or pressurized water supply, thus, Boston instituted the first paid per diem bucket brigade
staffed by twelve men, alongside the first fire captain, Thomas Atkins, who would transport and
operate the pump at a fire scene. After the success of the first organized fire department, by 1720,
ten new fire stations would develop in Boston consisting of six engines and twenty men, which
would assist each other if the fire demanded more manpower. The assisting of each other at fire
scenes instituted the rudimentary principle of mutual aid in the fire service, which plays a pivotal
role in the fire service today. (Collins

It is believed that the majority American public hold the beliefs that the mentally ill are
unpredictable, irrational, dangerous, bizarre, incompetent, and unkempt , and these stereotypes
have only strengthened from the 1950s to the present. (Thoits, 2011) Despite educational
campaigns, there is still a strong desire among the public to keep a social distance from the
mentally ill in an attempt to avoid awkward social interactions. Studies have shown that there s a
direct correlation between discrimination and low self esteem issues among mental patients. Low
self esteem is also linked to negative health effects. Not all patients who experienced social
rejection report a low self worth. It is stated that patients who experienced social rejection already
demonstrated low self worth and self esteem issues. Some studies even find that stigmatized
patients have a very high self esteem. (Thoits, 2011) A study done by National Alliance for the
Mentally Ill consumers, Wahl (1999) expressed that eighteen percent of the sample took the
stigma as a form of empowerment. Another study done by Lysaker (2007) showed that patients
with a high insight on their stigma were associated with lower depression, lower quality of life,
and lower self esteem. It was also found that these associations are stronger for patients with a high
self stigma than for those with a low self stigma. Low

Liquid Water On Mars Research Paper
The presence of water on Mars is highly related to the atmosphere conditions. Today, the Martian
atmosphere consists primarily of CO2 (95%). In addition, the pressure is about 6 millibars at the
Martian surface. The temperature is about 220 В°K average ( 53 В°C) at the Martian equator.
Accordingly, water is present in solid or vapor phases on Mars. Therefore, most of the potential
sources of water on Mars are not in liquid phase. [5]
To begin with, according to Russian scientists, the water vapor in the Martian atmosphere reaches
its highest content during summer. In the northern region the content of water vapor is 60 70
microns of released water, and 20 microns in the southern region. [6]
The liquid phase formation is inhibited due to the low temperature and pressure. However, there
are a few places where liquid water could exist. Recently, NASA had announced the strongest
evidence that liquid water is flowing on the Martian surface. Researchers found hydrated salts on
slopes where streaks were observed. The presence of these streaks and hydrated salts indicate that
water is present. [7]
Moreover, according to researchers, there are some expectations of liquid water in certain places,
yet not approved. Water in liquid form could exist on the surface as ... Show more content on

Classical Music and Its Affect On Society
How Classical Music Has Affected Society
Music and society have always been intimately related. Music reflects and creates social conditions.
Music s interconnection with society can be seen throughout history. Every known culture on the
earth has it. Music seems to be one of the basic actions of humans. The influence of it on society
can be clearly seen through ancient to modern history. The strongest effect given off from a genre
of music would have to be classical music. The genre s ability to increase one s ability to learn has
helped generations achieve greatness, but the more importantly classical music can even help grow
life. It can also both harm and heal people both physically and mentally. The power of music to

Melody and rhythm are the two essential components of music that work in very different ways:
melody is the essence that boosts creative thinking, while rhythm synchronizes these emotions with
the vital patterns. Human beings have since long been tied to musical tempos. The rhythms in the
heart beat, walking, jumping, speaking, chewing, and breathing all represent important patterns in
our life. It is this particular musical rhythm that increases the level of serotonin produced in the
brain, therefore enhancing critical thinking. What makes this music so valuable is the rigorous
mathematical order it offers.
We all know how greatly music affects our feelings and energy levels! Without even thinking about
it, we use music to create desired moods to make us happy, to enjoy movement and dance, to
energize, to bring back powerful memories, to help us relax and focus. As mentioned, Classical
music had three intent abilities: to teach, grow and heal.

The Importance Of Management Courses On Corporate Training
The Importance of Management Courses
One of the best ways to transform an organisation is through corporate training. Corporate training,
particularly for managers, is the ideal way to develop and implement strategies and incorporate
structure and standardisation. Managers who are well trained are better at making decisions, more
productive, and notably astute at enhancing their employees professional growth and development.
Continuous training helps managers feel more equipped to do their jobs and more confident in
their ability to carry out the company s mission and values.
Improve Self Awareness
Studies have found that self awareness is a necessary skill for managers to succeed. Managers that
are self aware are more in tune with their staff, more adept at recognising inefficient processes, and
highly effective overall. Self awareness helps managers see their own strengths and weaknesses and
achieve their goals quickly. Since employees are often a reflection of their management, managers
that are self aware will also have more self aware staff.
On the contrary, managers who are not self aware are a workplace hazard. They can compromise
their team s performance and abilities. Moreover, they do not realise the impact that their
communication and strategies have on others. Limited awareness can cause significant employee
dissatisfaction and ultimately lead to high attrition.
Fortunately, courses can help managers become more self aware and insightful. Management

History Of Hip Hop And Rap Essay
Owen Shields English IV 22 September 2015 The History of Hip Hop and Rap The controversy
of Hip Hop and Rap being that it is only about violence or uninfluential is one that has been
around since the eighties. But is it really all about violence, sex, drugs, or protest? Yes, there are
rap groups that only rap about violence, sex, drugs, or protest, but that is a genre called trap
music. When mentioning of the original artists in the trap music genre, rappers such as Waka
Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, and Lil Wayne come to mind which rap about sex,
drugs, and violence. There are other genres that rap about enlightenment, good morals, and
inspiration called conscious rap. Conscious hip hop or socially conscious hip hop is a subgenre
of hip hop that consists of political, religious, third eye enlightenment, or philosophical relations.
Most people only think there is one genre of rap and that is trap and that is the genre most
people don t realize even exist. With the rise of popularity of conscious rap hopefully people will
have a second and better opinion of the upcoming genre. If you look back from the beginning until
the present, the history of hip hop spreads out in every direction you could think of. It dates back
to the nine teen twenties when the earliest form of hip hop dance was first thought of. It includes
the Jamaican dancehall toasting era of the fifties and sixties. It spreads to the Last Poets and

Seeking treatment is unlikely for a majority of people that are physically abused, and the ones who
are seeking treatment are usually under some form of legal constraint. The prevention and treatment
options for physically abused children include: enhancing positive experiences early in the
development of the parent child relationship, as well as changing how parents teach, discipline, and
attend to their children.
Evidence based interventions include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as video

bees to continue to suffer. Albeit little in size, honey bees and different pollinators are essential in

Regarding asylum seekers in Nauru and PNG, conducts by the Australian Immigration Minister, the

to Australia, as they make up decisions to remove asylum seekers to Nauru or PNG on behalf of the
Australian government. Moreover, the conduct by Transfield, the contractor designated by the

exercises elements of governmental control over the centres.

An Analysis Of Walt Disney s The Lucky Rabbit Shorts

OPTIONS AND CORPORATE FINANCE
Answers to Concepts Review and Critical Thinking Questions
1.A call option confers the right, without the obligation, to buy an asset at a given price on or

given price on or before a given date. You would buy a call optionif you expect the price of the
asset to increase. You would buy a put optionif you expect the price of the asset to decrease. A call

1.a.The value of the call is the stock price minus the present value of the exercise price, so:
C0 = $60 [$45/1.055] = $17.35
The intrinsic value is the amount by which the stock price exceeds the exercise price of the call, so
the intrinsic value is $15.
b.The value of the call is the stock price minus the present value of the exercise price, so:
C0 = $60 [$35/1.055] = $26.82
The intrinsic value is the amount by which the stock price exceeds the exercise price of the call, so
the intrinsic value is $25.
c.The value of the put option is $0 since there is no possibility that the put will finish in the money.
The intrinsic value is also $0.
2.a.The calls are out of the money. The intrinsic value of the calls is $0.
b.The puts are in the money. The intrinsic value of the puts is $2.
c.The Mar call and the Oct put are mispriced. The call is mispriced because it is selling for less
than its intrinsic value. If the option expired today, the arbitrage strategy would be to buy the
call for $2.80, exercise it and pay $80 for a share of stock, and sell the stock for $83. A riskless
profit of $0.20 results. The October put is mispriced because it sells for less than the July put. To
take advantage of this, sell the July put for $3.90

Joseph Stalin And The Mensheviks
The Russian Revolution, specifically Joseph Stalin, and Mayas Rasoki a Hungarian Prime
Minister, created very similar situations in the ways that they affected the people living in the areas,
and how they maintained their power through the fear of the people. The Russian revolution was
started from the horrible impacts that World War I
had on Russia. Due to the high taxes, dearth of
food, and chaos in Russia the workers began a strike. The Czar lost power and two opposite
groups formed, the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks. Due to their differences, a civil war broke
out and the Bolsheviks, the communists, won. A Bolshevik by the name of Joseph Stalin took
over and wished for Russia to have rapid industrialization. This lead to different forms of
violence but Stalin did not care. Then Stalin began the purges which were very similar to what
occurred before the Hungarian Revolution. Stalin decided he needed to rid of anyone, including
the government, who were not enthralled with his ideas. He even executed Sergei Kirov a
popular party Chief and a member of the Politburo. He then arrested hundred of thousands of
people, even from the communist party, and sent them away never to be heard of again. Then he
began to hold show trials in Moscow, where he put senior advisors of the government on trials and
arrested their families and then put them on trial. He said they committed crimes , which really
were not, and 3,600 were executed. Stalin ruined families and many lives of Russians

comparedto the Church of Christ more strictly, for we will be jidge heavily for our sins. A good
example would be. Many Baptis Christians would state once saveed always saved appose to the
Church of Christ states when you sin you must truly repent by emerging again in water. This
person I truly loved, had committed himself as well as myself to the teaching of the Church of
Christ. He failed tremendously to follow the churchways of worshippong by committing adultery

leadership is defined as leadership that produces movement in the long term best interests of the

Four unexpected qualities of Inspirational leaders (Harvard Business Review, 2000)
They selectively reveal their weaknesses.
They rely entirely on their intuition to put forward their thoughts to action
They manage their followers with emotions
They outstand the crowd.

The same rules apply to the UK except to the second generation of citizen by descent (Macklin

the UK and also different from those of the US (Macklin Crepeau, 2010). At any given time over

suggesting that birthright citizenship is the most acquired citizenship method in the world and

still not a citizen) and some say it is over inclusive (such as a person born in Chicago to a

What Is Steve Prefontaine A Running Legend
Steve Prefontaine Running Legend Some People create with words or with music or with a

Its more than a race, it s a style, its doing something better than anyone else. It s being creative.
(Steve Prefontaine Quotes). Every time Prefontaine stepped on the track, his fans would just go
crazy. Pre, (as fans would call him) only had one thing on his mind, and that was to win. Some say
he s the best runner America has ever seen. Art is something that s created with imagination or skill
that expresses important ideas or feelings. If Prefontaine isn t considered an artist, then what is?
Runningis a form of art, and Steve Prefontaine definitely is an artist because he didn t settle for
anything less that the best and because he is a running legend. To give anything less than your
best, is to sacrifice the gift. (Steve Prefontaine Quotes). Prefontaine is an artist. This I true
because he never settled for second or third place. He always wanted to be the best. All of his

Why Apostille FBI Background Check Certificate
Why Apostille an FBI Background Check Certificate?
It is not uncommon for foreign countries and associated agencies to request Apostille authentication
on certain required documentation, especially when it comes to a background check. An Apostille
is a unique form of authentication used to validate specific documentation, and it is commonly
requested by countries that are a part of the Hague Convention of 1961. Whenever an individual is
considering relocating to, working in or adopting a child from a foreign country that is a part of the
Hague expansion, it is best that they obtain an FBI background check certificate with Apostille
authentication, as it will likely be required.
There are some countries, such as Korea, that automatically require that every American have an
Apostille FBI background check certificate in order obtain a work visa, and there are no
exceptions. Failing to obtain an Apostille authenticated FBI background check will result in the
denial of a work visa. It is also important to understand that while most state offices will Apostille

Science Fiction And Cultural Values
Science Fiction and Cultural Values
Introduction
Science fiction is a genre of creative writing which has stories that are connected with the future of
technology and science. This style of writing is often seen in graphic novels, fiction novels,
television series, and in film. Some common portrayals of science fiction include time and space
travel. At times, these stories feature life that is found on other planets apart from Earth. The tales
are usually based on new technologies, different social systems and scientific discoveries. Science
fiction may seem to be a fantasy because the technologies involved sometimes look unrealistic.
However, that fantasy becomes a reality when it changes how people view their daily lives.
History of science fiction
Philosophical stories and texts from centuries ago have some imagery that relates back to
science fiction. The stories imply that, even then, they predicted advances in science in future
years to come. Religious poems and stories that talk about the creation or demolition of the
universe have some elements that are like the elements of Science fiction. The powers used by
science fiction can be associated with those of the gods during and before biblical times. An
example of an old philosophical text which can be associated with science fiction is Plato s The
Republic . The topics and adventures discussed in the text are viewed as a fantasy and do not seem
practical in real life because they cannot be experienced using normal

some areas almost next door on another turn seemed destroyed. Many areas along these mountains
were eerily quiet. It felt chilling and creepy. Yet, it was peaceful and still I could find beauty in

  • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Space Exploration Space exploration has exploded in the past 56 years. From the first successful satellite mission in 1961, to the first mission space walk in 1969 a to the first time lettuce was grown and eaten in space in 2015. These are just the beginning steps towards potential space exploration and advancing technology to the maximum. Although space explorationis now being emphasized on and invested in, what does this do to benefit earth or even every individual who lives on Earth? Many writers, engineers, mathematicians, and chemists can agree that space exploration is going to provide more research for medicine and environmental factors. Others may also argue that the risks of exploring another planet will be too damaging because the life or atmosphere as it is will not be the same after humans have made their print on it. Three main clusters that are developed under this idea of space exploration is the benefits that are gained, ethical code and what it means with regard to the future of the humanrace. In this paper I will talk about what major projects are being worked on and who will benefit from these. This will also include what laws of space are and ethical code. This will also identify the differing viewpoints on space exploration and whether the big picture is worth the small steps being taken as to advancements in space technology and sciences. One large project that is being pursued is colonizing marswith a human population. This will mold the future and newer generations. It can make us question the future and what lies ahead. It has been said that it will take no more than 50 years to fulfill the colonization of mars. Ideas such as colonizing another planet is not unheard of and if humans do not consider the possible impacts in a new environment, this can be detrimental. The article A NASA Funded engineer s plan to colonize Mars from CNN was written by Kate Springer in 2017. One statement that made was, I believe building in space is going to become commonplace in less than 50 years. There s an abundance of energy and materials (in space) all we have to do is design self replicating factories and build a lot of objects. In a short time, our capability to manufacture in space will be many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Unlocking Youth Detention Education and Training Key to Unlocking Youth Detention Crisis Australia s juvenile detention system is breaking apart. It s time we started seeing our wayward youth as young people needing support and rehabilitation rather than merely callous criminals to be punitively punished, degraded and demeaned writes Anna Tran. A child is beaten and bashed, bruised and battered to the point where he can no longer stand on his own. It gets worse, much worse. He is teargassed and stripped, hooded and strapped into a restraining chair. The scene could come straight out of Abu Ghraib Prisonor Guantanamo Bay; in fact it comes out of our very own youth detention centres on Australian soil. The world was shocked and Australians shamed when scenes like these were recently broadcast from the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre in Darwin. Young Australians, under the care of the State, have been systematically abused, demeaned and degraded in the very institutions built to re educate and rehabilitate so that they will not reoffend. It s time we took responsibility for our young offenders and provided them with the knowledge and positive life skills to make it on the outside. Education is the key to a fulfilling life. Soon, we will be hardworking citizens of our society, and wouldn t our taxpayer money be better spent on improving our community? Sure, it looks like it would cost us a lot more to educate juveniles on the surface, but in reality it costs less. It costs us soon to be taxpayers $109,782.60 per year or $301.60 each day to keep a juvenile in punitive punishment. While this seems like a large sum of money, providing them with an education will stop the cycle of crime and therefore reduce this amount ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Due to the use of coal factories could produce more and more finished products which brought down the overall price of goods which made things more affordable to everyone. The Green Revolution brought many advancements towards societies in developing countries for many reasons. The new science advancements being made in agriculturealong with investment from other countries and private companies led to the economic growth of the country. Overall, these advancements lead to the Green Revolution being a big success in developing countries. Although, many people will argue that the Green Revolution wasn t a success in the developing countries and negatively affected the economic status and environmental safety of the country. Many people say that the green revolution only benefited the rich people, who are in charge, by getting them richer and the poor laborers only getting poorer. They also bring up that the run off from the pesticides used to artificially make the crops went into the rivers and polluted the clean drinking water for the lower class people leading to many new diseases spreading. However, science advancements in the field of agriculture and the overall economic growth of the whole country helped the Green Revolution be a success. • 9. In This Next Step We Uncover The Metaphysical World Around In this next step we uncover the metaphysical world around us. The first text is About Meditating on God s Unity, by Bonaventure. In this text we reflect on the idea of being, the all encompassing state that we fall under in every second of every moment we are doing anything. God, just like us comes under this category of being, as being comes not just from existence, but rather our essence. The next text comes from Elizabeth Johnson called Speaking about the Living God, which focuses on the name of God. God never tells us what God s gender is; only that God is. So by assigning God a gender we limit the power that God has, by making God only male we limit the feminine side of God s love as well as those who are uncomfortable with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The demon readily believes the fallacy that one s true self comes from taking care of the earthly body and live an easy life, while Indra finds out that the true atman comes from the disembodied self, or through living a life without earthly ties. The final text comes from Huston Smith, a converted Hindu, called The Beyond Within . This text elaborates more on the Hindu traditions of living a detached life. The best way to live this way is to embrace the world and all that it has to offer; in this way we can experience the joy and knowledge of the people and the world around us. All of these texts share a profound sense of ambiguity. They show us that we can never truly be sure if our metaphysical assumptions of the world are the correct ones. For example, in the more religious texts like Bonaventure, Johnson, Smith, and The Chandogya Upanishad we see various different ideas of who and what comprises god, and oddly enough all of them are correct. The beauty of ambiguity is that we can t say that one idea about what is is the right one, because the Hindu appreciation of many gods has just as much proof as the Christian idea of one God. We also see this in the not so certain idea of the concept of being in texts like Schrodinger s Cat, and The Allegory of the Cave both of which focus more on our perceptions of the world. Where we can be so uncertain what actually is the best state for us to be in, one of forced knowledge and certainty, or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Beethoven Piano Sonata Analysis Beethoven was one of the most influential composers of the late classical era. Of all the forms of music he composed one constant during Beethoven s career were his piano sonatas, which were composed during his early, middle, and late periods. These sonatas far exceeded those created by composers before and are considered to be the bridge between salon musicand the concert hall for solo pianorepertoire. The early sonatas follow the same traditions established by Mozart and Haydn and by the end of the late period are radically different from conventional form. The late sonatas, Op. 101, 106, 109, 110, and 111, are distinctly different from the other sonatas that came before in their style, forms, and composition. The pieces that I have chosen are the last five piano sonatas from Beethoven s late period. These pieces are reflective of the changes of Beethoven s compositional style as in his older age he began to stretch the limits of the classical style. The piano sonatas are reflective of what he was doing in all of his later works and are sort of condensed versions that still show the same ideas. Because piano sonatas were composed throughout his lifetime, they can be interpreted as a timeline of the changes in Beethoven s style of composing, particularly in the late sonatas. Beethoven had never been a very rapid composer and these five sonatas were the chief output of six years of work in the second to last decade of his life. Beethoven s increasing deafness was a major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nikolai Kretzsky in Between Shades of Gray, by Ruta Sepetys, shows what it means to be a true hero. The story is about a fifteen year old girl, named Lina Vilkas, who lived in Lithuania during the time of World War two. She was deported to many different camps with her brother and mother, while her father was separated and deported elsewhere. In this novel Nikolai Kretzsky was an NKVD officer that oversaw Lina s group. Many people debate whether or not Nikolai Kretzsky was a hero or villain. The Nervous System and Sexual Function Essay The nervous system is divided into three components: the central nervous system, which encompasses the brain, brain stem, and the spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system, which includes the sensory receptors and effector muscles and organs in the body, and the autonomic nervous system which is part of both the peripheral and central nervous systemand controls visceral and largely unconscious functions (Barker Barasi, 2005). The sexual response activates all these systems. Several hypothalamic areas have been shown to modulate erections in rats, including medial preoptic (MPOA) regions (MacLean, 1996), while Barker and Barasi (2005) s findings suggest the ventromedial area is the main control centre for the sympathetic nervous system and the lateral hypothalamic area being the main centre for parasympathetic activation. Steer (2000) reviews lesion, electrostimulation, and tracing data and identifies two pathways from the hypothalamus to sacral autonomic centres. The first goes from the dorsomedial hypothalamus through dorsal and central grey matter, travels to the locus coeruleus, and then projects to the mesencephalic reticular formation, where descending efferent input is sent through the dorsal columns of the spine down to the thoracolumbar and sacral autonomic nuclei. The other pathway arises from the dorsomedial and ventromedial hypothalamus, travels through the ventral and central tegmental regions, the pontine reticular formation, and the substantia nigra, and finally through the ventrolateral area of the pons and medula and into the dorsolateral funiculus in the spinal cord. The hypothalamus also has direct projections from the paraventricular nucleus to the autonomic areas in the spine involved in erection (Saper et al., 1976) as well the sacral ventral horn, a penile somatic motor nucleus. • 15. Willia Virtue Based Ethical Theory Introduction An ethical dilemma exists when a moral decision must be made between two or more possible scenarios. It is defined as a situation requiring a person to take action or not to take action based on moral grounds (Braunack Mayer, 2001). In business, such dilemmas occur frequently as employees, leaders, and organizations, are faced with complex problems that may impact multiple stakeholders in various ways that are not always equal or equitable. A sound ethical decision begins with a set of core values that define the person facing the situation (UC San Diego, 2014). • 17. The Development Of The Psyche As a child, people are in the most delicate phase of life. They are a freshly budded lily, absorbing all the light, moisture, and nutrients possible in order to bloom into an adult. These essential fertilizers predominantly come from their parents, who nurture them into the person they will become. This unit commonly consists of a motherand father. The mother a symbol of intimacy and maternal comfort, and the father a symbol of strength and stature. The balance of this yin and yang is extremely important for the development of the psyche. Having a fatherless childhoodor a childhood with a degenerate father is common in today s society. The effects of not having a father figure ripple through childhood and lay roots in the subconscious. There are two types of a fatherless childhood. Some grow up without a father in their life entirely, without any knowledge of who he may have been. Others grow up with a father in their life that does more destructive impact than constructive impact. Some may say that a destructive parent is still a parent to their child, but arguably a parent without constructive development to their spawn is not a parent at all. This hollow in a child s life leaves a space for destructive energy to breed. Many challenges adults face within themselves reflect back into their childhood. The subconscious is the seed left over from the lily s bloom, which died along with childhood innocence. The fight to gain back said innocence is the ultimate struggle. ... He also believed that as individuals, everyone will react to situations in different ways. Foucault said that power reaches into the very grain of individuals, touches their bodies and inserts itself into their actions and attitudes, their discourses, learning processes and everyday lives. 1 Foucault believed that knowledgeis always a form of power, but he took it a step further and told us that knowledge can be gained from power. Through observation, new knowledge is produced. Foucault presents these thoughts in the following manner. Recently, researchers have observed that the increase in production and marketing of sexy clothing for females has resulted in the inducement of discrimination and sexualization towards girls (Harbach, 2016). In the educational setting, these ideas have been laid out in policies such as dress codes. The main purpose of school dress codes is to reduce disruption by removing the stimulus that is causing the distraction (Arns, 2017). In addition, the pressure is about 6 millibars at the Martian surface. The temperature is about 220 В°K average ( 53 В°C) at the Martian equator. Accordingly, water is present in solid or vapor phases on Mars. Therefore, most of the potential sources of water on Mars are not in liquid phase. • 31. The Importance Of Management Courses On Corporate Training The Importance of Management Courses One of the best ways to transform an organisation is through corporate training. Corporate training, particularly for managers, is the ideal way to develop and implement strategies and incorporate structure and standardisation. Managers who are well trained are better at making decisions, more productive, and notably astute at enhancing their employees professional growth and development. Continuous training helps managers feel more equipped to do their jobs and more confident in their ability to carry out the company s mission and values. Improve Self Awareness Studies have found that self awareness is a necessary skill for managers to succeed. Managers that are self aware are more in tune with their staff, more adept at recognising inefficient processes, and highly effective overall. Self awareness helps managers see their own strengths and weaknesses and achieve their goals quickly. Since employees are often a reflection of their management, managers that are self aware will also have more self aware staff. On the contrary, managers who are not self aware are a workplace hazard. They can compromise their team s performance and abilities. Moreover, they do not realise the impact that their communication and strategies have on others. Limited awareness can cause significant employee dissatisfaction and ultimately lead to high attrition. Fortunately, courses can help managers become more self aware and insightful. I could see some effects of the rim fire, not up close and personal in the hot zone that I wanted to or ground zero that I had wanted to but enough that I could get an Idea what the area looked like from that view point.
