Pros And Cons Of Atropos The Scourge Elemental
Atropos the Scourge Elemental is a disabler, whose function in group is streamlined on ganking

neither competitive games. I m not a competitive player myself, but I assume there are 3 primary
reasons Bane is seldom picked on tournaments: First of all, bane draws terrebly at pushing. No

Floppy Disk Fallacies By Elizabeth Bohnhorst
The Evolution of Technology What if all through schooling, grades first through twelfth, the use of
any technology was not allowed? Not even as a learning resource or tool? What would our world
be like today? Elizabeth Bohnhorst, author of Floppy Disk Fallacies, believes that technology is
having a negative impact on students and that it is taking away from their education. Bohnhorst
wrote her essay in 2005, when computers were still an essential in every day life; it was only ten
years ago. Technology has evolved quite a bit, but I can still remember sitting in my freshman high
schoolclasses, with multiple computers in every classroom, there to assist us with research, media,
and learningprograms. Learning about and how technology works at an early age is critical for
students and young adults to succeed in their future.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

are a very popular option for the working college student and professors allow laptops in their

How To Write An Essay On Billy The Kid
Billy the Kid was born William Henry McCarty Junior. on November 13, 1859 in New York,
New York. William was a healthy baby with a happy life for a short period of time. It is thought
that when William was very, very young his father, William Henry McCarty either died or left
William and his Mom. A few years later, William s mom, Catherine McCarty married Williams
stepfather, William Antrim. Billy the Kidhad a brother, Joseph McCarty, who went with Jo for
short, but it is unknown whether he was older or younger. Little is known about Billy the Kid s
childhood, but when he was fifteen years old Billy s mom, Catherine McCarty passed away
because of tuberculosis. This was a hard and difficult tragedy for the Billy and Joseph to get over,
considering that they never even met their father. After the McCarty brother s mom passed away

The Benefits of Performance Enhancing Drugs Among Athletes...
Since the dawn of the twenty first century, performance enhancing drugs have become a religious
practice in the lives of some sport figures. The use of these supplements have given the user an
edge, an edge to perform at maximum capability. Most major athletes all agree on the fact that the
competitive drive to win can be quite intense. Besides the satisfaction of personal accomplishment,
athletes commonly pursue high hopes of attaining a medal, a college scholarship or the once in a
lifetime opportunity to play on a professional team. In such an environment, the use of performance
enhancing drugshas become increasingly common (Athletes Drug Use). For most athletes, winning
at all costs includes taking performance enhancing drugs. The... Show more content on

When blood and muscles are full of oxygen, one s body can perform better than normal. An athlete
who uses a performance enhancing drug to get more oxygen to his or her muscles can perform for
longer periods of time at optimum level. A third reason an athlete would choose to use
supplements is to stimulate the body (Athletes Drug Use). The reasons athletes need to keep their
body stimulated are to reduce fatigue, gain assertion, and maintain aggression (Athletes Drug Use).
It is really not much different from a person drinking coffee in the morning to perk up. One final
reason an athlete would use performance enhancing drugs is to mask an injury (Athletes Drug
Use). For example, if a quarterback breaks his toe or sprains his knee during a game, there are two
options: one, the quarterback can be taken out of the game or two, the trainer can give the
quarterback an injection to take the pain away, allowing the quarterback to return to the remainder
of the game. With the reasons for taking performance enhancing drugs in mind, this essay should
mention the many categories of performance enhancing drugs available on the market today,
including steroids, growth hormone stimulants, pain killers, and diuretics. Most athletes strive for
success in the sense that motivation comes from gaining college scholarships to high paying
positions on professional teams or becoming an Olympic

Theme Of The Metamorrphosis And It s A Wonderful Life
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life, directed by Francis
Copra, don t seem to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature
classes, and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common
themes of unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The
Metamorphosisand It s a Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go
through a transformation where they see what their lives are like without them. We will
examine the characters, the journeys they went through, and the different outcomes of similar
experiences. George s transformation in It s a Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s
character George s unhappiness. His job, which he never wanted to get stuck with in the first
place, is going bad, and he feels like nothing he does makes any difference. He is about to get
blamed for something he didn t do and is backed into a corner. This is when George s
transformation begins. His unhappiness is compounded when his business is failing and he is
blamed. He is threatened with prison and ruin. He is unable to keep it together for Christmas
Eve. He sees his life as a life of sacrifice for his friends, family, and the good of the town, and he
sees it as all for nothing. All his efforts are leading to his ruin. When he goes home after the
money is missing, and after realizing all the implications that are attached to that, the stress is
compounded by his family. His daughter is sick, the piano is playing the same thing over and
over. He is bombarded with questions and the problems pile up until he loses his temper. He
feels that he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and it is all crashing down. Nothing he
does is good enough, and nothing he has done would stop him from going to prison if he couldn
t come up with money. That is when he remembers his life insurance. If he died the bank would
be taken care of and his family would be taken care of. If he died he wouldn t be stuck in the same
old town, with all the responsibility. He stands on the bridge ready to jump and wishes he had
never been born, He gets his wish and is shown what life would be like

The most common is Mean Girls cyber bullying which has been seen in the case of Tina Meir
who committed suicide at age 13 (Billitteri 385). Mean Girls refers to the type of cyber bullying
in which is usually performed by a group of young girls looking to have fun in the act. The
group girls most often want others to know who they are and what they are doing in order to
feel powerful. Research has shown that females are almost twice as likely to be involved in
cyber bullying either being a victim or perpetrator. The second category would be Inadvertent
cyber bullying which consists of role playing. The perpetrator may not realize they are cyber
bullying, yet they interpret their offensive and cruel remarks through a joking manner. The next
category is somewhat similar in the sense that the bully may not realize that they are virtually
cyber bullying. Vengeful Angel refers to an individual who is defending themselves or others
from an attack, which ultimately leads them to becoming a cyber bullying as well. The last
category can be similar to the school yard bully, which is the Power Hungry bully. This category
refers to those who may be victims of bullying themselves. A Power Hungry bully wants to feel
powerful and control others through their cyber bullying. Overall experts say that it is most
common for the perpetrators to be classified as popular student with self esteem who are trying to

We see the world through our own lens, curved by our life s events. Our lenses are simply a
reflection of how we see ourselves. Through his distinctive writing style, George Saunders
provides his readers with an in depth view of how the lense of an individual is molded by a
synergistic combination of both the environment and the personalities he is presented with. In his
chef d Е“uvre, In Persuasion Nation, George Saunders utilizes one of his short stories, Jon, to
fabricate a story revolving around a character reaching self actualization despite having the majority
of his life indirectly dictated by institutional powers. This character, Jon, lacks an identity; but,

Satire In Mark Twain s The Damned Human Race
Mark Twain s logical fallacies wash over his readers like depression in the mind. They creep in
like a soft voice heard just by the ears at first, but soon they take over the entire limbic system.
Attacking the amygdala in a verbal hijacking, rendering the host unable to feel conversely. Satire is
by definition Mark Twains View of the man in The Damned HumanRace. It s his use of ridicule to
expose and criticize people s stupidity or vices and follies to scorn (Merriam Webster.com). Mark
Twain s approach to prove his hypothesis that; man is at the bottom of evolution, is enticing but not
successful.
The purpose of the reading for Mark Twain was to show: That the human race is of one distinct
species. That other animals also more or less distinct and that they are in the procession. They are
links in the chain which stretches down from the higher animals to man at the bottom (Twain). He
eases his readers into his claims strategically by presenting his facts and findings. He frantically
unravels as he depicts his findings to show the believed evidence as he attempts to stake his claim.
He vexes in an attempt to persuade the reader from the beginning with his experiment of the
anaconda and the English Earl . Showing how the hunters killed many buffalo for theater of the
Earl and only consumed part of one leaving the rest of the buffalo to rot (Twain). While the
anaconda on the other hand was presented with multiple calves and only killed one in entirely,
leaving the rest unharmed or bothered (Twain). Here Twain uses logos as proof to support his
claim with his experiments and findings. He also uses pathos to enrage his reader in the sheer
waste that the human man can produce but as everyone knows not all men are created equal.
In one of his examples he speaks of a two cages (Twain). One filled with assorted animals the
other with different men from different religions and locations (Twain). He hopes to prove how
animals very quickly learned the most basic survival technique to cohabitate where the man did
not. He lacks logos, as the man is an intellectual species and has evolved, surpassing other animals.
The animals do not wear clothes, nor do they choose how they present themselves and what

that changes from soft to loud and has a more upbeat tempo. The second piece preformed was,
Sedona by Steven Reineke. I really like this piece a lot. It reminds me of Christmas and happy
times. I like how in the beginning the piece starts off softer, but you can still hear all the
different instruments playing their part. The tone of the flutes is very beautiful to listen to and
I really enjoyed how the piece slowed down to really enhance that sound. Overall, I really
enjoyed this piece and it was very well played. The next piece played was, Salvation is created

Bobo The Doll Experiment Summary
Albert Bandura s Bobo the Doll Experiment was performed to solidify and add credence to his
belief that all human behavior is learned through social imitation, rather than inherited through
genetic influences. During the 1960s, many psychologists debated whether genetics or
environmental factors, such as social learning, effected a child s development. Bandura designed
the Bobo Doll experiment to prove that children imitate behaviors set by role model s. Bandura s
research hastened the evolution of the 20th century experimental psychologyfrom pure behaviorism
into what is now known as social cognitive learning (Artino, 2017). The 1961 experiment followed
thirty six boys and thirty six girls from the Stanford University Nursery School (Bandura,... Show

Bandura s findings and his social learning theory help explain this correlation. The American
Academy of Pediatrics decided to explore if this correlation can be scientifically exhibited in
research studies. They discovered that media does indeed influence children because of the ideas
founded by Bandura s theory. A child can learn aggressive behaviors by imitating others, including
those who are portrayed in the media. This is because children younger than eight years have
difficulty being able to distinguish reality from fantasy (Media Violence, 2009). Therefore, they
can be vulnerable to learning, or adopting the attitudes and behaviors of a role model found in the
media. However, this discovery is not always detrimental. Much of prosocial media uses Bandura s
theory to their advantage, and creates role models that exhibit excellent behavior (Ng,

Gandhi Servant Leadership
In the contemporary world, the application of servant leadership by individuals and organizations
may be similar or vary significantly depending on the cultural and religious backgrounds. That is for
sure because the Western culture and Christianity execution of servant leadership may have
similarities or differences with other cultures and religious affiliations respectively. Primarily, the
global servant leader of interest in this discussion is Mahatma Gandhi, who demonstrates servant
leadershipthrough the humanitarian work he accomplished in his lifetime.
Despite the differences in cultural and religious backgrounds between the Western Culture and
Mahatma Gandhi s Indian culture, similarities in servant leadership execution are apparent. A case
in point of such similarity of servant leadership application is the humanistic aspect that both
Western Culture and Christian servant leaders, as well as Mahatma Gandhi, demonstrate in their
execution of servant leadership. That is for sure because Mahatma Gandhi invested in his followers
needs as well as supporting, encouraging and inspiring them. All of these aspects demonstrate

example, Gandhi adopted peaceful campaigns in his pursuit of fighting for human rights for the

Research Paper On The Divine Comedy
Divine Comedy The Divine Comedy is a lengthy poem composed by a considerable Italian poet
that worked primarily in the late middle ages. Composed by Dante Alighieri, who was a
political thinker, writer, and poet who is remembered mostly for composing The Divine
Comedy, which made a lasting impact on theology, as well as literature. Many consider Dante a
genius when it came to literature, a wise man full of knowledge. He was born in Florence, Italy
and lived from 1265 to 1321. Many believe Dante studied tuscan poetry while in school but it is
not known where and when he went to school. He is remembered as a very influential writer
who used Italian language rather than Latin. He was born into a family that was supposedly
involved deeply with the Florentine political scene which was a large influence on him and his
ideals which is evident throughout his works. Dante s mother had died when Dante was very
young. At just 12 years old, Dante had his marriage arranged with a woman who was a family
friend named Gemma Donati. The couple got married sometime around 1285, but there was just
one problem. Dante had proceeded to fall in love with another woman Beatrice Portinari, who
would become a huge significance to his life and especially his work, she was very influential to
him. Dante later went on and composed The New Life (La Vita Nuovo) using Beatrice as an ideal.
After the unexpected death of Beatrice, Dante became quite intrigued in studying philosophy and

The Stylish Way Of Advertising
The stylish way of advertising As competition increases between automotive brands,
advertisement of their vehicles start to change. Each brand tries to draw everyone s attention
and persuade people into buying their vehicles. Some strategies consist of targeting specific
audiences and grabbing their attention with the use of action packed images. One particular
automotive brand that uses this strategy is the Toyota Motor Corporation, especially for the
newer models. To actually see this strategy we have to analyze some of their ads and their
components with greater detail. The first ad, published by the Toyota Motor Corporation to
advertise their family sedan, the Camry. Being one of the best selling sedans in the market, and
considering Toyota s Slogan: Let s Go Places , this ad really shows what they stand for. The
element of adventure and the way it was composited really attracts and grabs the attention of the
audience. To begin analyzing this ad, we first look at the objects that first grab our attention. In
this case, the wording in the left of the ad that says: THE BOLD NEW CAMRY . Under these
words it says: One bold choice leads to another Together, this first part leads me to look at the

because of the red. We also have a woman reading some papers, some of these being on the ground

Antisocial Personality Disorder
Antisocial Personality Disorder is a psychological disorder in which an individual s way of
thinking and way of relating to others is dysfunctional and destructive. People with antisocial
personality disorder usually have no regard for right and wrong and often disregard the rights
and feelings of others (Mayo Clinic 1). They tend to antagonize and manipulate others for
pleasure or personal benefit and often violate the law and end up in trouble most of the time, but
show no remorse or regret for their actions. Some examples of the type of people with this disorder
can include serial killers and politicians.
Antisocial Personality Disorder symptoms may begin in childhood and become fully evident for
most people during their 20s and 30s. In children, cruelty to animals, bullying behavior, social
isolation, and poor school performance may be early signs of the disorder. Most of the people
diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder show symptoms that violate the rights of others. The
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) states all the possible symptoms of
the disorder:
These individuals tend to fail to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors by
performing acts that result in arrest. They are also masters of deception because they lie
repeatedly by using aliases or by conning others for personal profit or pleasure. They rarely plan
and act on impulse when they perform their actions. They also become very irritable and aggressive,

names no conclusion can be made on who was and was not there. There is one popular belief
that King Arthur was one individual or the product of the combination of several people. There s
little hard evidence on who Arthur could have been based off of: for the most part it is
speculation. The Real King Arthur is an article on a website called lordsandladies.org that is
strictly used for educational purposes. In this article four historical figures are presented as being
inspiration for Arthur, the first runner up is Magnus Clemens Maximus. Maximus was a Celt and
general who became the nephew of the Welsh King Coel Godhebog through marriage. Maximus s
base was Carmarthen or Caernarvon. Another article from The History Files confirms that King
Godhebog was indeed Maximus s uncle through marriage. There is one flaw in this conclusion and
that is due to Monmouths The History of the Kings of Britain which states that Maximus was of
Imperial descent and that Constantius was his ancestor. Maximus s dad was Maximianus who was

Health Insurance Fraud Essay
Faking a death is the most common type of life insurance fraud and has even been the plot of
many movies, books and shows; although it is difficult to pull off. This occurs after a person
takes out a life insurance policy on their self and after a few months of it being in effect they
disappear and are declared dead. Then the beneficiary, a family member or spouse, then attempts to
collect the life insurancepolicy
Double billing is a scheme that is common in health insurance fraud. Doctors will bill for
treatments that were not rendered or medically necessary as well as billing for a different service
that is covered under the patient s policy instead of billing for a treatment that is not covered.

Insurers can refuse to pay claims or delete claims, deny or cancel coverage as well as underpay
medical expenses. Fraudulent insurance companies can also collect premiums and pay for
inexpensive care before disappearing if a large claim is filed. It has also been known for
companies to look through insurer claims to intentionally drop them saying the insurer did not
disclose previously.
One of the most targeted insurance lines is auto insurance fraud. There are many known schemes
that take place in this fraud that can vary in seriousness and complexity. There are small schemes
to defraud; filing multiple claims for a single injury, filing claims for vehicle damage or injuries
that were not caused by and auto accident and padding the cost of repairs. The schemes can
become more complex involving staged accidents, faking injury or falsely reporting a stolen vehicle.
Other schemes in auto insurance fraud occur mostly to avoid paying higher premiums. People
might register their car in a different town so they have cheaper rates. It is also common for
fake primary drivers to be listed to avoid a bad driving record or young drivers that are indeed the
sole driver. Another scheme is a policy holder reporting a false auto insurance claim that occurred
before the policy period

Social Cultural Context Of Behavior Change Interventions
Much of the current scholarly literature argues that managing workplace culture is an increasingly
vital subject in any organisation. Workplace culture, also known as organizational culture can be
defined as the values, beliefs, norms and assumptions that contribute to the unique social and
psychological environment of any organization (The Business Dictionary, 2015). Research has
recognized that a strong workplace culture is not only important for the successfulness and
sustainability of a company, but for the welfare of the individuals who work in it (Glisson, 2007).
Over the years numerous interventions have been implemented within organisations in order to
improveworkplace culture. This review will aim to report findings on the social cultural context of
behaviour change interventions based on teamwork interventions, mindfulness interventions
leadershiptraining interventions.
Teamwork is a significant element in any workplace, as it offers all employees the sense of unity,
reliability and support, and gives them the ability to work together efficiently. An intervention
conducted by Bleakley et al (2012) aimed to investigate whether an education intervention would
result in a significant development of attitudes towards teamwork across a surgical provision. The
intervention was based on Crew Resource Management (CRM), which uses participatory action
research to familiarize the strategies within the specific team context. A longitudinal quasi
experimental design was

Spiritual condition evaluation
Throughout the life of my person of interest, knowledge of the existence of a creator has had a
crippling effect in his struggle to reconcile his perception of life and the great desire for divine
approval and acceptance. This is a result of the common belief that moral and spiritual development
is attained through the shedding of dogmatic belief structures, resulting in the elimination of God
towards the attainment of self realization.
Strangely, although the secular aspect is quite vividly seen in his way of life, the religious
references and biblical allusions cannot be ignored. Despite the lack of cultivation and learning
in the morals and ethics of Christianity, he is able to form his own code of behavior based on
example and the behavior he views from others. It should be noted that his instinctive sense of
morality comes without knowledge of God or a creator and while this may seem to be an atheistic
or at least secular way of thinking about how morality is inborn it is impossible to ignore the way
the Bible and religious learning influence even this aspect of his life.
It would seem that he views other people as closer to God, not simply because of his own
isolation, but because he witnesses their apparent ability to function in a world of God. This is
seen on his act of acquiring a sense of morality through observation of behaviors of others
It is evident

Chicago Defender Argumentative Essay
Housing and racial discrimination of the 1950 s and 1960 s can not start without the discussion of
the great migration of African Americans. African Americans left the south and moved to the north
to large cities like Portland, Detroit, Seattle and topic at hand Chicago. In search of new lives and
to avoid tough segregation laws blacks flooded the Chicago area. According to online reports more
than 6 million African Americans moved up north from 1916 to 1970. The mistreatment of the
southerners and segregation alone was a huge incentive for African Americans to leave the south.

Art Museum Of Fort Worth Texas
This influence and style continued at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth Texas. Louis Kahn is
a modern architect that designed the Kimbell Art Museum. Kahn emerged from the Beaux Arts
movement but became one of the foremost American Modernist architects of the 1950 s and 60 s
(Kimball, 1990). Kahn created a building for the Kimbell Art Museumthat also complimented the
art and did not distract the viewer (Kimball, 1990). He was commissioned to design the Kimbell
Art Museum from 1966 1972). Kahn s museums are individual to the point of idiosyncrasy, yet
they remain transparent to the works of the art they house (Kimball, 1990). The Yale University Art
Gallery, designed by Kahn, has an intimate studio feel as employed at the Museum of Modern Art
(Binns, 2004 p. 17). Kahn also utilized similar materials that Goodwin and Stone incorporated.
The Yale University Art Gallery is made of large pieces of glass and steel (Binns, 2004, p. 17).
Many of the materials used at Kahn s three museums are glass, steel, concrete, and brick
(Eliasoph, 2009, p. 317). During the 2005 remodeling, the team attempts at restoring much of
Kahn s original design elements at it considers it a very important part of architectural history

The Hidden Characteristics Of The Renaissance
The Baroque style is the product of the obsession with perfection from the Renaissance and the
strangeness of the Mannerists. These two periods combine with each other and what you get is the
Baroque. The Renaissance had hidden meanings and complex theologies hidden in their paintings.
The Baroque simplified that formula and made art more accessible to people, no hidden meanings
and no hidden symbols. Not only did it have this but the Baroquejust did not simply tell a story but
a moment in time from that story. This moment in time technique not only allowed for some
showmanship in skill but allowed the viewer to take part of the moment with usually and empty
space for the viewer. Because of this does the viewer remain just that, a viewer or do we become
part narrative? This interaction between the viewer and the art is no longer like the outside and
miniscule feeling one gets from looking at the perfection of Renaissance masters. And it is
definitely not like the strange exchange and confusion that comes from the harsh mannerists. But
rather, the Baroque offers the viewer a space in the scene, an interaction. It is often warm and
inviting when appropriate and allows even uneducated people to understand what is going on. The
Baroque has more of a human quality than a divine one. The use of spot lighting by certain artists
such as Caravaggioand his followers allow the story to become the most important and the
interaction between the viewer and the art becomes a story of its

An Example Of Impression Management Theory
Making good impressions in significant throughout life, it is human nature to be concerned with
how you are perceived to others. People have a certain expectation on how they view themselves
and what other to view them. Impression management is a conscious or subconscious process in
which people attempt to influence the perceptions of other people about a person, object or
event. They do so by regulating and controlling information in social interaction.[1] It was first
conceptualized by Erving Goffman in 1959, and then got expanded in 1967. An example of
impression management theory in play is in sports such as soccer. At an important game, a player
would want to showcase themselves in the best light possible, because there are college recruiters
watching. Without a doubt, this person would have the flashiest pair of cleats and try and perform
their best to show off their skills. Their main goal may not be to win the game but instead to
impress the college recruiters in a way that increases their chances of being chosen for a college
team.[2]
Impression management is usually used synonymously with self presentation, in which a person
tries to influence the perception of their image. The notion of impression management was first
applied in face to face communication, but then was applied to computer mediated communication.
Also this concept was applied into different field of study from academic research in the field of
psychology and sociology to practical fields such as

Implementation Of Light Fidelity ( Li Fi ) On 3rd Gen...
Abstract: This paper explains an idea for implementation of Light Fidelity (Li Fi) on 3rd Gen
Modular projects (such as Oil Gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, power plants and other processing
industries). In particular, it will show how the application of Li Fi on 3rd Gen Modular project
avoids all the instrument wiring systems and Wi Fi(Wireless Fidelity) based wireless instrument
problems and reduces the life cycle cost of instrumentation system. The implementation of optical
wireless instrument communication systems on 3rd Gen Modular projects will result in enhanced
wireless capacity to realize Industrial Internet of Things (I2oT) and contribute to the key
performance indicators for the 4th Gen. Modularization and beyond. The availability of Li Fi
communication system provides multiple benefits over wired and Wi Fi based wireless
instrumentation systems. The paper covers all the key areas of engineering, design and
construction/fabrication, deliverables requirement, while implementing Li Fi on modularization
projects to achieve the plants requirement in an optimized way.

In the city south of Mesopotamia known as Sumer, there were these large stepped structures
called ziggurats . Ziggurats were elevated buildings raised on a flat plain with a temple or shrine
mounted on top. This elevation was very helpful in keeping the shrines from flooding and
protecting their artifacts within. Ziggurats were the most extraordinary remains to come from the
Sumerians. It is believed that the ziggurats were built on top of other ruins and then the new ones

When explaining his process of becoming more virtuous, he says While my care was employed
in guarding against one fault, I was often surprised by another; habit took the advantage of
inattention; inclination was sometimes too strong for reason (Franklin 69). Franklin is able to
step back and analyze his daily tendencies, and decide if they are faults or not. He is now set
above an everyday person, who normally does not analyze everyday habits. Benjamin then went on
to list thirteen virtues he will tackle and try to improve in order to live a better life for him and the
people around him. Thirteen virtues are a lot to face, and difficult all at once. But he is able to
categorize them, and say Temperance first, as it tends to procure that coolness and clearness of the
head, which is so necessary where constant vigilance was to be kept up, and guard maintained
against unremitting attraction of ancient habits, and force perpetual temptations (Franklin 70).
Franklin chose Temperance as the most important and urgent virtuebecause it allows his head to be

ultimately leading him to living a virtuous life. Franklin was able to conjure this plan entirely on
his own. He wanted to improve life so he can live happier, not to please

Consumer Culture Of The 1950s Research Paper
The 1950s is described as the golden age of capitalism, where a comfortable standard of living
became accessible to many new, middle class Americans (991). According to Foner, the official
poverty rate, 30 percent of all families in 1950, had declined to 22 percent a decade later (991).
The poverty rate declined as more Americans entered white collared jobs with increased wages.
Essentially, the American standard of living during the 1950s was characterized by the ability of
citizens to participate in the mass consumerist society; this was only possible through an increase
in income. Jack Straus, the chairman of the board of Macy s stated The consumer is the key to our

Three types of performers make the show more interesting to watch on and off the stage. There

Fice Of National Statistics Crime Survey Essay
The Office of National Statistics Crime Survey for England and Wales (2016) reported that
violence against the person offences recorded by the police rose by 24% in the latest year with the
latest figures representing the highest number of violence against the person offences recorded in a
12 month period since the introduction of the National CrimeRecording Standard (NCRS) in April
2002. The Offences Against the Person Act (1981) defines the violent forceful infliction of physical
injury as Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH), whether this be with intent (section 18) or without intent
(section 20), as unlawfully wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm (Crown Prosecution Service,
n.d.) These are indictable only offences with the charge of GBH Section 18, with intent; actus reus

intent. With a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, this reflects the significant life changing
psychological and physiological ramifications impacted upon its victims.
In considering the offence of GBH, I shall critically consider two criminological theories and relate
these theories to this serious violent offence, noting the extent to which they explain this behaviour.
Finally, I will consider how these theories fit into the broader context of criminological thinking.
Research suggests that violence arises from interactions among individuals psychosocial

vessels. However, the rescue, surprisingly, comes down to a group of coasties from Chatham,
MA. Bernie, a 24 year old coasty, and his crew knowingly volunteer to go out into the perilous

Liberals LOVE Gun Control Essay
Liberals Love Gun Control
Gun Control can be called the acid test of liberalism. All true
liberals must favor stricter gun controls. After all, doesn t the United States
have the most heavily armed population on the earth? Are we not the world s most
violent people? Surely these facts must be at least casually connected.
Therefore the apparently desperate need to do something about the vast
quantity of firearms and firearms abuse is obvious.
Guns are employed in an enormous number of crimes in this country. In
other countries with stricter gun laws, gun crimes are rare. Many of the
firearms involved in crime are cheap handguns, so called Saturday Night Specials
for which there is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The moderate gun control groups propose measures such as
requiring an individual to successfully complete a firearms safety course before
being allowed to possess a gun, or to wait for a mandatory period of time before
taking possession of a gun.
Today, there are approximately 20,000 different gun control lawsin
existence, ranging from those enacted by municipalities and states, to those
enacted by the federal government. Gun control is ineffective and tougher
sentencing of criminals and stricter parole policies would do far more to combat
crime.
Statistics show that Canada is less violent than the United States.
Fewer guns are only part of the story. The inner city slums of the United States
are murderous, bombed out looking places. American visitors to Canada s big
cities often ask where the slums are. The answer is that there really aren t any
slums, and the lack of violence there reflects it.
Canada s more generous welfare benefits and universal health insurance
have made for safer cities. The contrasts between extreme wealth and extreme
poverty are fewer and less striking. Poor inner city families do not
disintegrate to the extent they do in black American ghettos. Canadian murder
rates in big cities are about the same as in isolated rural areas.
According to THE ECONOMIST magazine; Blacks, 12% of the United

Globalization and Lower Living Standards for Americans...
Kofi Annan, a UN diplomat, once said, ...that arguing against globalization is like arguing against
the laws of gravity. He is undoubtedly correct in this assessment. Indeed, globalization is no longer
something to be skeptical of, it is very real and is changing our world exponentially. The affects of
globalization, however, continue to be a heated topic for debate. Proponents praise the overall
economic lift provided by free trade, the diffusion of cultures, and the spread of democracy and
capitalism. Critics cry foul at the loss of national identity, the accelerated and uncontrolled use of
natural resources, and the redistribution of wealth into the hands of a few very powerful people
and corporations. Globalization is a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it had not been for the increasing awareness of other cultures brought about by globalization
Yoga would never have grown to the fad it is today. This prevalence of global fads can be seen in
many ways, especially in entertainment and technology. When I was younger I regularly read
Japanese manga comics. These comics, long popular in Japan, only recently became popular in
America due to the proliferation of American fan translations on the internet. Through manga I
learned a lot of Japanese culture and found hours of entertainment that I would not have
experienced otherwise. As with the entertainment of Japanese comics, I also play several video
games designed in Japan and regularly use technology such as the Sony Playstation. In fact, the
computer I type on is of Korean origin. Without globalization these parts of my life would be
quite different. The prevalence of technology and ideas can only have a positive impact on the
world and my life. The more minds in the world that can cooperatively work to improve our lives
the better. My life has definitely been impacted by this aspect of globalization and I am grateful for
it. How many hours of enjoyment have I gotten from international entertainment, how much easier
does my computer make my life? These things are not immediately quantifiable, but I can be sure
that I would rather have these experiences and technologies than to have missed out on them. In
addition to the affects of globalization on my life

Qualities Of Being Human In Lord Of The Flies
In film, the scene that best describes the first characteristics of being human which is that we are
created in the image and likeness of God, is when Simon says God has a plan for him and that God
had made him the way he is, he explains this during reverend russel s service. Simon believes he is
special and godhas a job for him he must complete. In the last scene, at near end Simon fulfills
God s intentions by helping others. He steps in and helps everyone escape the sinking bus. he
risked his life saving the last kid on the bus out of the goodness of his heart . By doing that, his
brave actions are what God would have done.

He would not let the reverend doubt his belief and faith in God s work. In the scene, where
Rebecca s passes away, Simon cries and begs for forgiveness. Joe shows frustration when he
finds out that mr. Baker is not his father, he cries out It s not fair. This trait is also shown where
Joe tells Simon that he loves him and that he is his best friend, in the end Simon passes away and
Joe cries by his side.
The Sixth trait of being human is that humans are blessed with a conscience is shown when
Simon releases the emergency exit and escorts everyone out of the bus, I think that in his mind
God was telling Simon to do the right thing and save the children after the bus driver left. Also
when simon found out that the reverend was Joe s father because it was the righthting to do and it
had to be said right away. During those scenes it shows that humans have conscience to listen to the
voice God, who will guide us into making good decisions that will benefit the common good, for

as I can tell with my precision) dead on. I like the adjustments on the side for repetitive cuts (1

too much board at once then it can handle. Powerful! This planer seemed to laugh at the 10 inch
wide oak boards I sent through it. I cut the boards from a tree with a Alaskan chainsaw portable
sawmill. Each board needed numerous passes to get it down to nice smooth usable lumber. The
blades lasted quite a long time. Changed blades after 20 boards, 10 long, 10 wide, receiving around
5 (on average) passes per side, I just turned around the blades and continued planing. The double
sided blades are nice. I had an old 12 delta and as I used to either have to get the blades re

Gender In Jane Eyre
Bildungsroman is a novel genre that follows the path to maturity of a character, focusing on the
changes and experiences that shape this character as they move from youth to adolescence. The
plot of Jane Eyre, written by Charlotte BrontГ«, is one such example of a Bildungsroman. The
growth of the main character, Jane Eyre, begins from her tragic childhood and leads up to her
becoming the mistress of Mr. Rochester. Along this journey, Jane faces various difficulties and
confronts many challenges that shape her personality and lead to the construction of the person
we see at the end of the novel. Gender is a topic regularly highlighted as a key component of the
novel, in particular gender roles and who does or does not want to be defined by their... Show more

Rochester is the only man that Jane is able to meet as an equal in the novel, albeit only after
receiving her inheritance and her refusal to be Rochester s mistress. Although their social status
and backgrounds are different, Jane s presence in Thornfield seems to invigorate Rochester.
Rochester is also important to Jane, as he provides her with the sense of family and love that she
has never experienced until now. It could be argued that Rochester is presented as superior to Jane,
both intellectually and in terms of his knowledge of the world, but the revelation of his marriage to
Bertha Mason demonstrates that in this relationship, it is Jane that possesses the moral and
ethical superiority. Jane rejects Rochester s marriage proposal after she discovers his marital
status to Bertha, not only because she feels it would be against the law and her religion, but
possibly due to her fear that Rochester will end up imprisoning her through marriage, despite his
best intentions, just as Rochester has imprisoned Bertha in Thornfield. I am not talking to you
now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit
that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God s
feet, equal as we are! It is ironic that when Jane finally does agree to marry Rochester, he has been
left blind following a fire at Thornfield started by Bertha. Rochester is now suddenly dependent on
Jane,

He won an Oscar for this song. An amazing accomplishment for anybody, let alone a musician.
Bruce had now reached legend status, and filled his time with huge, sold out shows, recording
songs, or being a husband and dad. He was changing the world, not just emotionally but socially as
well, one song at a time. A couple years ago a documentary titled Springsteen and I, was released.
Although several documentaries had already been made about Bruce Springsteen, this one was
different and perhaps more special. It is a documentary completely about Bruce s fans and the
impact he, and his music has had on them. It shows fans crying at his concerts, dancing in their
kitchen to his songs, even one man proposing to his wife after singing a Bruce Springsteen song
to her. It includes heartfelt, and tearful messages to Bruce. It is a documentary that just shows
how much of an impact this man and his music has had on some people. He inspires his fans so
much, and gives 110% of himself during shows. He leaves everything on the stage, and in his
music. Bruce Springsteen has truly changed music, and his fans forever. His music not only
reaches to their souls but also touches on social issues around the world. He makes his fans aware
of current issues. He is a living legend who has used his position on pop culture to

Not even as a learning resource or tool? What would our world be like today? Elizabeth Bohnhorst, author of Floppy Disk Fallacies, believes that technology is having a negative impact on students and that it is taking away from their education. Bohnhorst wrote her essay in 2005, when computers were still an essential in every day life; it was only ten years ago. Technology has evolved quite a bit, but I can still remember sitting in my freshman high schoolclasses, with multiple computers in every classroom, there to assist us with research, media, and learningprograms. A third reason an athlete would choose to use supplements is to stimulate the body (Athletes Drug Use). The reasons athletes need to keep their body stimulated are to reduce fatigue, gain assertion, and maintain aggression (Athletes Drug Use). It is really not much different from a person drinking coffee in the morning to perk up. One final reason an athlete would use performance enhancing drugs is to mask an injury (Athletes Drug Use). For example, if a quarterback breaks his toe or sprains his knee during a game, there are two options: one, the quarterback can be taken out of the game or two, the trainer can give the quarterback an injection to take the pain away, allowing the quarterback to return to the remainder of the game. With the reasons for taking performance enhancing drugs in mind, this essay should mention the many categories of performance enhancing drugs available on the market today, including steroids, growth hormone stimulants, pain killers, and diuretics. • 6. Theme Of The Metamorrphosis And It s A Wonderful Life The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life, directed by Francis Copra, don t seem to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature classes, and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common themes of unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The Metamorphosisand It s a Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go through a transformation where they see what their lives are like without them. We will examine the characters, the journeys they went through, and the different outcomes of similar experiences. George s transformation in It s a Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s character George s unhappiness. His job, which he never wanted to get stuck with in the first place, is going bad, and he feels like nothing he does makes any difference. He is about to get blamed for something he didn t do and is backed into a corner. This is when George s transformation begins. His unhappiness is compounded when his business is failing and he is blamed. He is threatened with prison and ruin. He is unable to keep it together for Christmas Eve. He sees his life as a life of sacrifice for his friends, family, and the good of the town, and he sees it as all for nothing. All his efforts are leading to his ruin. When he goes home after the money is missing, and after realizing all the implications that are attached to that, the stress is compounded by his family. His daughter is sick, the piano is playing the same thing over and over. He is bombarded with questions and the problems pile up until he loses his temper. He feels that he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and it is all crashing down. Nothing he does is good enough, and nothing he has done would stop him from going to prison if he couldn t come up with money. That is when he remembers his life insurance. If he died the bank would be taken care of and his family would be taken care of. If he died he wouldn t be stuck in the same old town, with all the responsibility. • 10. Satire In Mark Twain s The Damned Human Race Mark Twain s logical fallacies wash over his readers like depression in the mind. They creep in like a soft voice heard just by the ears at first, but soon they take over the entire limbic system. Attacking the amygdala in a verbal hijacking, rendering the host unable to feel conversely. Satire is by definition Mark Twains View of the man in The Damned HumanRace. It s his use of ridicule to expose and criticize people s stupidity or vices and follies to scorn (Merriam Webster.com). Mark Twain s approach to prove his hypothesis that; man is at the bottom of evolution, is enticing but not successful. The purpose of the reading for Mark Twain was to show: That the human race is of one distinct species. That other animals also more or less distinct and that they are in the procession. They are links in the chain which stretches down from the higher animals to man at the bottom (Twain). He eases his readers into his claims strategically by presenting his facts and findings. He frantically unravels as he depicts his findings to show the believed evidence as he attempts to stake his claim. He vexes in an attempt to persuade the reader from the beginning with his experiment of the anaconda and the English Earl . Showing how the hunters killed many buffalo for theater of the Earl and only consumed part of one leaving the rest of the buffalo to rot (Twain). While the anaconda on the other hand was presented with multiple calves and only killed one in entirely, leaving the rest unharmed or bothered (Twain). Here Twain uses logos as proof to support his claim with his experiments and findings. He also uses pathos to enrage his reader in the sheer waste that the human man can produce but as everyone knows not all men are created equal. In one of his examples he speaks of a two cages (Twain). One filled with assorted animals the other with different men from different religions and locations (Twain). He hopes to prove how animals very quickly learned the most basic survival technique to cohabitate where the man did not. He lacks logos, as the man is an intellectual species and has evolved, surpassing other animals. The animals do not wear clothes, nor do they choose how they present themselves and what ... Bobo The Doll Experiment Summary Albert Bandura s Bobo the Doll Experiment was performed to solidify and add credence to his belief that all human behavior is learned through social imitation, rather than inherited through genetic influences. During the 1960s, many psychologists debated whether genetics or environmental factors, such as social learning, effected a child s development. Bandura designed the Bobo Doll experiment to prove that children imitate behaviors set by role model s. Bandura s research hastened the evolution of the 20th century experimental psychologyfrom pure behaviorism into what is now known as social cognitive learning (Artino, 2017). Bandura s findings and his social learning theory help explain this correlation. A child can learn aggressive behaviors by imitating others, including those who are portrayed in the media. This is because children younger than eight years have difficulty being able to distinguish reality from fantasy (Media Violence, 2009). Therefore, they can be vulnerable to learning, or adopting the attitudes and behaviors of a role model found in the media. However, this discovery is not always detrimental. Spiritual condition evaluation Throughout the life of my person of interest, knowledge of the existence of a creator has had a crippling effect in his struggle to reconcile his perception of life and the great desire for divine approval and acceptance. This is a result of the common belief that moral and spiritual development is attained through the shedding of dogmatic belief structures, resulting in the elimination of God towards the attainment of self realization. Strangely, although the secular aspect is quite vividly seen in his way of life, the religious references and biblical allusions cannot be ignored. Despite the lack of cultivation and learning in the morals and ethics of Christianity, he is able to form his own code of behavior based on example and the behavior he views from others. It should be noted that his instinctive sense of morality comes without knowledge of God or a creator and while this may seem to be an atheistic or at least secular way of thinking about how morality is inborn it is impossible to ignore the way

In search of new lives and to avoid tough segregation laws blacks flooded the Chicago area. According to online reports more than 6 million African Americans moved up north from 1916 to 1970. Kahn emerged from the Beaux Arts movement but became one of the foremost American Modernist architects of the 1950 s and 60 s (Kimball, 1990). Kahn created a building for the Kimbell Art Museumthat also complimented the art and did not distract the viewer (Kimball, 1990). He was commissioned to design the Kimbell Art Museum from 1966 1972). Kahn s museums are individual to the point of idiosyncrasy, yet they remain transparent to the works of the art they house (Kimball, 1990). The Yale University Art Gallery, designed by Kahn, has an intimate studio feel as employed at the Museum of Modern Art (Binns, 2004 p. 17). • 30. The Hidden Characteristics Of The Renaissance The Baroque style is the product of the obsession with perfection from the Renaissance and the strangeness of the Mannerists. These two periods combine with each other and what you get is the Baroque. The Renaissance had hidden meanings and complex theologies hidden in their paintings. The Baroque simplified that formula and made art more accessible to people, no hidden meanings and no hidden symbols. Not only did it have this but the Baroquejust did not simply tell a story but a moment in time from that story. This moment in time technique not only allowed for some showmanship in skill but allowed the viewer to take part of the moment with usually and empty space for the viewer. Because of this does the viewer remain just that, a viewer or do we become part narrative? This interaction between the viewer and the art is no longer like the outside and miniscule feeling one gets from looking at the perfection of Renaissance masters. And it is definitely not like the strange exchange and confusion that comes from the harsh mannerists. But rather, the Baroque offers the viewer a space in the scene, an interaction. It is often warm and inviting when appropriate and allows even uneducated people to understand what is going on. The Baroque has more of a human quality than a divine one. The use of spot lighting by certain artists such as Caravaggioand his followers allow the story to become the most important and the interaction between the viewer and the art becomes a story of its ... • 31. An Example Of Impression Management Theory Making good impressions in significant throughout life, it is human nature to be concerned with how you are perceived to others. People have a certain expectation on how they view themselves and what other to view them. Impression management is a conscious or subconscious process in which people attempt to influence the perceptions of other people about a person, object or event. They do so by regulating and controlling information in social interaction.[1] It was first conceptualized by Erving Goffman in 1959, and then got expanded in 1967. An example of impression management theory in play is in sports such as soccer. At an important game, a player would want to showcase themselves in the best light possible, because there are college recruiters watching. Without a doubt, this person would have the flashiest pair of cleats and try and perform their best to show off their skills. Their main goal may not be to win the game but instead to impress the college recruiters in a way that increases their chances of being chosen for a college team.[2] Impression management is usually used synonymously with self presentation, in which a person tries to influence the perception of their image. The notion of impression management was first applied in face to face communication, but then was applied to computer mediated communication. Also this concept was applied into different field of study from academic research in the field of psychology and sociology to practical fields such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Sixth trait of being human is that humans are blessed with a conscience is shown when Simon releases the emergency exit and escorts everyone out of the bus, I think that in his mind God was telling Simon to do the right thing and save the children after the bus driver left. Width of finished board is (as far as I can tell with my precision) dead on. I like the adjustments on the side for repetitive cuts (1 /8,1/4, .. etc). The cut depth gague in the front is nice so I accidentally don t try to make it take too much board at once then it can handle. Powerful! This planer seemed to laugh at the 10 inch wide oak boards I sent through it. I cut the boards from a tree with a Alaskan chainsaw portable sawmill. • 51. Gender In Jane Eyre Bildungsroman is a novel genre that follows the path to maturity of a character, focusing on the changes and experiences that shape this character as they move from youth to adolescence. The plot of Jane Eyre, written by Charlotte BrontГ«, is one such example of a Bildungsroman. The growth of the main character, Jane Eyre, begins from her tragic childhood and leads up to her becoming the mistress of Mr. Rochester. Along this journey, Jane faces various difficulties and confronts many challenges that shape her personality and lead to the construction of the person we see at the end of the novel. Gender is a topic regularly highlighted as a key component of the novel, in particular gender roles and who does or does not want to be defined by their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rochester is the only man that Jane is able to meet as an equal in the novel, albeit only after receiving her inheritance and her refusal to be Rochester s mistress. Although their social status and backgrounds are different, Jane s presence in Thornfield seems to invigorate Rochester. Rochester is also important to Jane, as he provides her with the sense of family and love that she has never experienced until now. It could be argued that Rochester is presented as superior to Jane, both intellectually and in terms of his knowledge of the world, but the revelation of his marriage to Bertha Mason demonstrates that in this relationship, it is Jane that possesses the moral and ethical superiority. Jane rejects Rochester s marriage proposal after she discovers his marital status to Bertha, not only because she feels it would be against the law and her religion, but possibly due to her fear that Rochester will end up imprisoning her through marriage, despite his best intentions, just as Rochester has imprisoned Bertha in Thornfield. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God s feet, equal as we are! It is ironic that when Jane finally does agree to marry Rochester, he has been left blind following a fire at Thornfield started by Bertha. Rochester is now suddenly dependent on Jane, ...
