2. Field Of Dreams
At the time I saw the movie, Field of Dreams (1989) I thought it was one of the weirdest movies I d
ever seen. Holly and I kept looking at each other during the movie and whispering, What s going on
now? But it was about baseball, so I thought I should keep watching. The movie is a favorite for
millions of people. AFI voted it in the top ten of the fantasy genre. One of the famous lines in this
movie is, If you build it, he will come. The question the audience kept asking during the movie was,
Who is he? Who will come? The story of the movie is that while working in his cornfield, a novice
farmer, Ray Kinsella, played by Kevin Costner, hears a voice that whispers, If you build it, he will
come , and then he sees a vision of a baseball ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

way he knew how. The other he who arrives is the version of Ray who needed emerge in order to
enjoy the fulfillment of his dream. As they begin to play catch, we see hundreds of cars, lined up for
miles approaching the field. In the end, people gather to have another chance to reach their dreams.
Some left dreams behind because of other pursuits, some because of mistakes they made, others
because circumstances took the opportunities from them. This movie impacted many people because
of its message about unfulfilled dreams, the relationships with fathers and sons, regrets, and second
chances. It awakens a cry in a person s heart, to let the adventures begin. We often discover through
the act of preparing for something amazing, that something amazing begins to happen in

In 2008 when the global economy took a turn for the worst Canada managed to come out on top. This
is thanks to the export of natural resources and commodities. The Canadian government immediately
took charge and start making budget cuts in order to have a full recovery by 2015. (D.R., 2011)
Canada has a large threat in its path; its dependence on the outside world.
Canada fared much better than was expected while other countries throughout the world declined and
fell into a recession. There are nine specific key indicators that are important to consider when talking

For many tribes of Plains Indians whose bison hunting culture flourished during the 18th and 19th
centuries, the sun dance was the major communal religious ceremony . . . the rite celebrates renewal
the spiritual rebirth of participants and their relatives as well as the regeneration of the living earth
with all its components . . . The ritual, involving sacrifice and supplication to insure harmony between
all living beings, continues to be practiced by many contemporary native Americans. Elizabeth

The fork of the lodge represents the eagle s nest. The eagle plays a large part in the Sun Dance for it is
one of the Plains Indians most sacred animal. The eagle flies high, being the closest creature to the
Sun. Therefore it is the link between man and spirit, being the messenger that delivers prayers to the
Wakan Tanka (god). (Atwood) In addition to being a messenger, the eagle also represents many
human traits. We can see what values and traits these cultures saw as being important in a person by
those traits imposed upon such a sacred animal. The eagle is seen as courageous, swift, and strong. He
has great foresight and knows everything. quot;In an eagle there is all the wisdom of the world. quot;
(Atwood) During the Sun Dance the eagle is the facilitator of communication between man and spirit.
The Crow may be accompanied by a dancing eagle in his visions, the eagle quot;instructing him about
the medicine acquired through the vision. quot; (Atwood) The eagle s feathers can cure illnesses.
During the Sun Dance a medicine man may use his eagle feather for healing, first touching the feather
to the sun pole then to the patient, transferring the energy from the pole to the ill. It is the buffalo,
however, that makes up the main theme of the Sun Dance. In various stories it was the buffalo that
began the ritual. The Shoshone believe that the buffalo taught someone the proper way to carry out the
dance and the benefits in doing it. Buffalo songs, dances, and feast

6. Betrayal, Justice and Passivity in Roald Dahl s Lamb to...
Roald Dahl, a British novelist, offered his readers a classical short story, Lamb to the Slaughter, with
the tale of betrayal, justice, injustice and passivity. Two main characters of the story are detective Mr.
Patrick and Ms. Patrick who live in small town. Roald Dahl tries to reflect human nature of perversity,
and cruelty through the Lamb to the Slaughter . As the story progresses, theme of love, passion,
betrayal and injustice grow stronger. Author smartly shows us how an idle wife becomes a smart
criminal to take the revenge of her betrayal and successes to trick officers. As the first paragraph is
introduced, Roald Dahl develops an image of Mrs. Patrick Maloney as an idle housewife. Description

Thus, Author greatly described 1960s housewife as loving, passionate and energetic for her husband.
Author also surprises readers, when he introduces conflict between a couple that used to love each
other deeply. Diverting the story from love to betrayal, author develops an irony. In the story, reader
sees two examples of betrayal. Ms. Maloney, while talking with her tired husband, finds out her
husband no longer want to keep their marriage. Without giving any kind of reason, Patrick betrays her
wife with a decision of breaking marriage. Mary shocks, when her husband, boldly, says, This is going
to be bit shock of you (P. Maloney) Author creates a total opposite picture of Patrick by describing
him as a husband who used to give her wife surprises; he is now giving her shock in the middle of her
pregnancy. Mary, who was previously shown as anxiety less (Dahl), with a slow smiling air (Dahl)
and curiously tranquil (Dahl), had began to get upset and now inculcate her eye with a bewildered
look. After betrayed by her husband, she, without any argue, she goes to the basement to look for
frozen food. She decides to have leg of a lamb as a last dinner with her husband, but she smashes the
frozen leg in to Patrick s head with killing him. Mary betrays her husband by killing him and takes
revenge of her betrayal. Later, Author confirms her as a murdered with the statement of I ve killed him

7. Ok Computer Thom Yorke Analysis
Ok Computer, an album that is considered the last great rock album of the 20th century, has never
stopped expressing its clear message. Most critics have all come to the same conclusion when
discussing the meaning and message of this album. The album touches on the personal experiences of
the writer and the problems of society at the time. Thom Yorke, songwriter, expresses his dislike for
all the fast paced controlled city life with the songs Fitter Happier, Let Down, and Electioneering.
Thom Yorke also reveals his personal issues and experiences with the songs Paranoid Android and
Karma Police. This album shows how Yorke handles his personal life with the dislike for big city life

The title of the book is The City of Ember, because the story is set in Ember, a small underground city.
The city runs on light bulbs, because no natural light reaches the city. These lightbulbs represent
ember, creating light in the dark. I think the author intended both children and adults to read The City
of Ember. He wrote the story to inspire anyone to explore their world, and find ways to make it more
efficient. Also he wanted to show that even children could make a tremendous difference for the entire
community. The time period is set a couple hundred years ahead in the future. This story is set in an
underground city built by the city s elders. If I could change the setting it would be set on another

(first quote)We as a group are divided with these statements above. A few of us agree with the first
quote ... over the past decade or more, Americans have become... less likely to see things from a

stereotypes or because opinions from adults have been shoved down their throats and they just began

the fact that the author is correct in her statement, children now have a different perspective on their
daily tasks. Children now have a one track mind meaning that once they have an idea in mind they do
not want to consider any other suggestions. Adults could argue that 21st century children have

11. A Call for the Continued Prohibition of Marijuana and...
A Call for the Continued Prohibition of Marijuana and Other Drugs Alcohol, if consumed in high
quantities, poses serious personal and public health and safety issues. In the realm of public safety,
engaging in said activity significantly impairs cognitive activity, affecting one s ability to utilize
proper judgment and operate machinery, among other things. Thus, operating machinery while under
the influence of alcohol puts not only the operator, but also others in the vicinity of the operator, in
danger of being harmed. This is a universally recognized and accepted reality. In the realm of personal
safety, long term alcohol abuse severely compromises major organs and bodily function, chiefly
among them the lungs and fluid operability of the blood vessels. Thus, excessive alcoholic intake can
lead to eventual chronic and debilitating health problems, such as liver cancer and diabetes. This is
also a universally recognized and accepted reality. It is because of the widespread acceptance of these
relative hazards that alcohol, although legal, has been seemingly sequestered by American society into
a niche category of vices that are appropriate when consumed responsibly, but dangerous and overtly
negative when consumed otherwise. Why then, has marijuana seemed to sidestep this particular form
of judgment and swung itself onto the complete opposite end of the pendulum; the end that says it is
completely harmless to consume? Whether one points to popular culture, the efforts

The unwanting desire to face reality and confront the isolation in which one is living is a struggle that

inner struggles and difficulty being socially accepted. During the party, Gabriel is anxious and nervous
because he wants to uphold this reputation of a confident man. Therefore, he creates a script allowing
him to have a sense control and comfort which he lacks. In Contrast, the little boy perceives himself to

Gabriel is rather opposite to the little boy because Gabriel is conscious of his actions, however, in both
of these cases, love becomes a blinding factor to these characters (Gabriel and the little boy). Even
though during the party Gabriel was anxious and nervous he remained calm and collected with the
hopes of impressing his wife Gretta. Their relationship is almost one that should be admired.
However, as Gretta was listening to The Lass of Aughrim being played Gabriel stood still and began
observing, There was grace and mystery in her attitude as if she were a symbol of something... If he
were a painter he would paint her in that attitude (Joyce 2192). In this brief moment husband and wife
become strangers, the distance between them makes Gabriel see his wife in a new light. Although this
may be arousing for him he questions how well he knows her. His connection to a painter depicts the
idea that he is starting to understand the internal beauty of his muse, Gretta. Adding on, every painter
starts with a blank canvas so Gabriel can ignore her mistakes and paint her without flaws, depicting
Gretta perfect. Gabriel s need to be accepted by this perfect woman is important to him because
without her he feels insecure and degrades himself. Having a human interaction and being understood
can demonstrate the social acceptance of these characters. The little boy is eager to impress his crush
and swoon her off her feet, but because he is

London, 1827. I m off to work! Cole shouts to his parents as he closes the house door behind him.
Today is his first day of work, and he is very excited. When Cole moved to the city, he found a job in
one of the factories, and being inspired by machinery, he applied and was accepted. Cole is 17 years
old, and is tall with black hair and a thin build. As a kid, he loved school, and would go voluntarily,
unlike some of his classmates, and so he is expecting great things from his first job. From his house,
Cole starts walking down the main street of the city. People bustle all around him, and he is shoved in
all directions. Desperate to avoid the flow of pedestrians, Cole pushes through to the side of the road,
out of the way. I can finally rest, he thought to himself. Just when all seemed calm, he hears a loud
sound on his right. Turning, he sees that there is a huge machine passing on a bridge near him. I think
it s called a train , he wonders. The massive machine speeds across the city with a thundering noise.
What a monstrous yet beautiful invention. How could anyone even think of something of such
complexity... His thoughts are suddenly interrupted by another man who shouts, Get out of the way
kid, I ve got a job to be at! He then shoves Cole, knocking him to the side, and continues walking. His
head spinning, Cole stumbles back onto the sidewalk, the bustle of people having passed by, and he
lays down to ease off the pain from the encounter. One aspect about Cole is that he never becomes
angry, not even when a person hits him. From his position on the ground, Cole tries to look up at the

already finished. He had never seen such large buildings, but he had also never seen so many in one
area. Neither had he seen a place like the city where tens of thousands of people are walking in the

15. Love Is A Tender And Resilient Matter
Love is a tender and resilient matter, existing in all things since the Lord created the heavens and the
Earth. However, the proper ways to love would be following Jesus s commands to always love one
another regardless of race or background because everyone values love, love shapes what s good and
it is explained in the Bible of the three different and enduring kinds of love: Eros, Agape and Philos.
The first love is exponentially described in the Bible Eros love. This specific kind of love is based off
of the physical traits associated with sexual as well as emotional involvement. That endearing click
people hope to discover at least once in their lives. Eros goes off of strong feelings opposite sexes,
even same sexes, have for one another. However, the bible proficiently claims that unless redeemed by
the Lord s presence, then this love, Eros, can become a possessive, belittling feeling instead, since it
tries to conquer first and then control, such an example being a marriage discovering problems that did
not previously exist due to the other party not going about handling situations the way they had
previously, or purposefully belittling the other. Eros love is a beastly form of love, a love that not
unlike the famous Beauty and The Beast is based off of physical characteristics as well as sentiment
from one being to another. It also exists in the form of pure amorousness gone bad an example of this
being a woman marrying a man she treats in a way society

Anne Chapin argues that Minoan art landscapes are not necessarily indicators of shrines, but do hold a
religious context. She continues on to say that they exist for the elite, that few common people would
have seen them, at that if they ever did it would signify to them the elite s power and connection to the
gods. She begins her argument by introducing past interpretations and the issues that arise from them,
then explains the possible significance of the floral motifs in landscapes, and finishes with her
interpretation of their meaning to the Minoan people. Evans begun the debate of what the landscapes
mean in Aegean art when he declared that the Monkeys and Blue Bird Fresco was for a secular use of
just existing for its aesthetic. Marinatos observed that the existence of crocuses and lilies are normally
used as decoration for alters and offering tables, and that monkeys and doves are often in connection
with goddesses, giving the fresco a much more religious connotation than Evans had originally
believed. She also pointed out the inclusion of flowers from all different seasons and environments
which led her to believe it was more than just wall decoration, and was contextualizing a room that
was shrine. Another fresco from Room 14 of the Royal Villa, has all stirred discussion. Originally
viewed as a bedroom due to remains of a bed found, now may be seen as a shrine due to a low

19. Most Of The Times Nietzsche Understands And Uses The Word
Most of the times Nietzsche understands and uses the word morality as the set of values and ideals
typical of Christian western society. In this sense, it is safe to say that Nietzsche opposes morality and
that genealogy serves the ultimate goal of undermining it. However, genealogy has of course a scope
for application beyond the particular morality of 19th century Germans. Accordingly, my claim is that
in Nietzsche Christian western morality represents a particular instance of a more general concept of
what morality is. So for example, in the preface to On the Genealogy of Morals Nietzsche claims that
the object of the book is the value of morality, or, of [...] all that has hitherto been celebrated on earth
as morality [...]. (GM P:3) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On one hand, Schacht s talk of spheres of life leads to transcend our often restricted understanding of
morality as including simply the realm of ethical rights and duties, or as being focused on explaining
why and how we should act in order to live morally. In Schacht s sense, morality rather seems to
include the mores of the Latin or the ethoi of the Greek. In other words, our morality is the set of
norms we live by in all the different situations we come across in our existence, including many areas
of life that the restricted understanding of morality would not consider as relevant. In this sense, when
we read the expression normative codes we should avoid thinking of the normative as something
necessarily imposed on us from an external authority. This, follows insofar our mores/ethoi really
shape us down to our essence, basically including any behaviour we may assume. More often than not,
we should understand these codes as normative insofar as they form our un reflected habits namely,
the way we automatically express ourselves in a particular context.
Lear work seems to go in a direction similar to Nietzsche s. Hence, in the first chapter I employed a
notion of morality built on Wittgenstein s and Taylor s understanding of morality/ethics as
encompassing everything which holds value for us thereby including for example

also contains a character that is in search of the truth, which ultimately leads to his own demise, as
well as the demise of many around him. Arthur Miller s play, The Death of a Salesman, tells of a
tragic character so wrapped up in his delusional world, that reality and illusion fuse, causing an
internal explosion that leads to his downfall. Each play enacts the struggle of a man attempting to

Oedipus foolish decisions ultimately lead to his downfall in the play. Oedipus chooses to kill Laios.
He chooses to marry Iocaste. He chooses to forcefully, and publicly, assume the mission of
discovering the identity of Laios murderer saying ironically, I say I take the son s part, just as though I
were his son, to press the fight for him and see it won, (633). He proceeds on this mission and chooses
to ignore the warnings of Creon, Iocaste, Teiresias, the messenger, the shepherd, and anyone who
attempts to stand between him and the truth; and, he chooses to blind himself. In the end, Oedipus
most foolish choice prevails throughout the play; the choice of illusion over reality ultimately costs
him his life.
Similar to the quest for truth in Oedipus case, so does Hamlet lead to his own decease. In the first act
of William Shakespeare s Hamlet, after Hamlet is aware of the tormented ghost of his father walking
on the ramparts, he goes to witness it for himself. This immediately exemplifies the theory that
Hamlet, like Oedipus, is in search of the truth, until he realizes it is too much to bear. Subsequent to
seeing the apparition, he is convinced to avenge his father s murderer. The ghost tells him, Revenge
his foul and most unnatural murder, (29). As Hamlet lays the trap for the new King Claudius, he is
procrastinating in order to solve his self doubt. Even after the ghost tells Hamlet how his father was
murdered, Hamlet has the players act

When the Separatists bordered the ship, the Mayflower, with other individuals seeking different lands,
such as Captain Myles Standish, a popular soldier, the ship missed its destination and landed in New
England. Upon arriving, the group chose leaders that would effectively lead the group, such as
William Bradford, a self taught scholar who could speak many languages and communicate with
many different types of people and was later discovered to be elected 30 times as governor for the
Pilgrims. The chosen leaders of this group of people, the Pilgrims, created a brief Mayflower Compact
which signified an agreement to form a crude government and always submit to the regulation of
majority rules . This pact was a step towards the idea of America s self government. Since the Pilgrims
wisely chose educated leaders, the population usually got along well, and its colonization made it one
of the most moral and spiritual at the time. The Pilgrims fought through harsh winters and celebrated
bountiful harvests, which would later lead to the creation of Thanksgiving, and demonstrated a

23. Gardening And The Life Cycle Of A Plant
I did my project with Taylor McNeil and we decided to focus our world on gardening. When we were
assigned this project, we brainstormed some different ideas that our world could revolve around. The
first idea that we had was the season of Fall. We thought that it would be a great idea to revolve our
world around fall because it was the season that we are currently in but then we decided to do
something different. Some of our other ideas included birthdays, recycling, and gardens. We then
narrowed it down between two choices, gardening and recycling. Both of us are passionate about our
environment and so these topics were extremely intriguing. We then decided that we were the most
interested in gardening and selected it to be our world. Gardening is a pretty broad topic so we
focussed more on the reason behind gardening and the life cycle of a plant. When looking at all the
Common Core Standards there were many standards that could be incorporated into a lesson about
gardening, so many that we chose six of them. The first one we chose was CCSS.ELA
LITERACY.RL.2.1. In this standard, students would ask and answer questions demonstrating that they
understand the text. A way to incorporate this into a classroom would be to ask students questions,
about gardening and plants, before you read aloud a book about gardens to them. Instead of having the
students answer the questions right away, have them think about these questions while you read aloud
the book. After you finish reading

24. Fitzgerald s Definition Of Truth In The Great Gatsby
What do you believe truth is? There probably are a few different definitions of truth. I consider truth
being honesty and facts. I don t care about truth. I want some happiness. said Fitzgerald s version of
truth. Hansberry says, Perhaps I will be a great man... I mean perhaps I will hold on to the substance
of the truth and find my way always with the right course. O Brien s truth is, I want you to know what
I felt. I want you to know why story truth is truer sometimes than happening truth. These three have
some decent definitions, but truth itself doesn t really have just one right definition, it s more open
ended.
Fitzgerald says, I don t care about truth. I want some happiness. It supports with truth because truth
can be happiness, if you believe in it. Fitzgerald s version of truth doesn t totally fit with truth, but it
does work because truth is a wide range. The reason it doesn t totally go with the flow is because he
says he does not care about truth, which can be a big deal depending on the situations and what not. In
the Great Gatsby someone said, I mean it was careless of me to make such a wrong guess. I thought
you were rather honest, straightforward person. (chapter 9) This fits in because it goes with the
thought that people do follow the concept of truth and honesty. ... Show more content on

Art of War is one military tactical text that has survived for centuries. The author of the text, Sun Tzu
left the world with knowledge to carry on for generations. Art of War is a compilation of Tzu s
military strategies, various principles passed down his ancestral clan, and Taoism for the world to

small force can overcome a powerful enemy (Galvin and Giles 15). These tactics have been

from April 2003 to April 2008 to graph SCL. We use S P 500 as the market because it contains the
stocks of 500 Large Cap corporations and can reflect the market change broadly. As shown in exhibit
1, we can get the SCL: Ri Rf = 0.001 + 0.1649(Rm Rf). So the beta is 0.1649 and the alpha (intercept)
is 0.001. From the regression line, we find the R square is only 0.103. It reflects the degree that X
variable explains Y variable is 10.3%. That is, Ri Rf has no close relationship with Rm Rf. In addition,
due to the fact that beta is only 0.1649, it also provides the same result which Ri Rf and Rm Rf have
no strong positive relationship. It is a good issue to consider why Wal Mart stock return does not relate
with S P 500 return very well. From exhibit 2, we find the Wal Mart price did not change very much
while S P 500 price went up. The major reasons may be that S P 500 includes many high tech stocks
and those stocks performed very well during the period; therefore the volatility is greater than Wal
Mart. Moreover, maybe Wal Mart has lower weight in S P 500 so its trend of price change is different
from S P 500. From exhibit2, we also find Wal Mart had good relationship with S P 500 before 2004.

31. How Is The Pirates Of The Caribbean Historically Accurate
The Black Death The movie series, The Pirates of the Caribbean, was very good for many reasons.
Not only was it entertaining, it was also historically accurate. Many different factors helped the film
achieve a high level of realism portraying pirate life in the 16th 17th centuries. For example, in the
movie, the character Jack Sparrow was both similar and different to the pirates that lived in real life
historical times. In addition to that, the weaponry used in real pirate life was almost exactly the same
to the weaponry used in the movie. Another example is that the pirate code in the movie is very
similar to the real pirate codes. There were many of the same rules in the codes. Mostly the sea myths

The pirate code in the movie states that the nine Pirate Lords elected pirate captains. Like in the movie
some pirates voted for important affairs on Bart Roberts s ship, but there weren t nine lords. In the
series, the pirate code also states that each crewmember got the same share of the treasure found, but it
is historically accurate that captains actually got more than everyone else and they gave bonuses to
boatswains, quartermasters, and other officials. Other than that all crewmembers got the same share of
treasure. Also any man that is injured is left behind in the movie, but pirates actually gave injured
pirates a compensation ranging from 400 to 800 pieces of eight. Like in the movie, real pirates were
also marooned and left with nothing but a gun and some rum. Another accurate fact in the pirate code
of the movie is that when a pirate found a ship to attack, that pirate would get the best pistol. This is a
rule according to Edward Low s pirate code. Jack Sparrow said that pirates never betray or steal from
others because it was not issue on his ship. He had forbidden it, but in other pirate codes like John
Phillip s, it said that they would be marooned if a pirate betrayed or stole. Some of these movie pirate
codes are very similar to real pirate

Throughout the years, science and technology have developed exponentially through the work of
several scientists and researchers. By the 1800s, citizens craved comfort and wanted jobs to be done
faster. These desires created the Industrial Revolution and the age of mass production. This prompted
new technology and faster ways to save lives. Now, citizens have internet on their phones, GPS
tracking systems, and live longer. However, while the Revolution was prosperous in the long run, it
deeply affected people during the 1800s. During the Industrial Revolution, people worked strenuously,
the emerging middle class could afford to spend more on daily business, and quality of life at home
decreased.
At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the working class who made up 80% of society had
little bargaining power with their new bosses. Working conditions were very tough, and sometimes
tragic. Factory employers demanded a complete change of pace and discipline from the village life.
Laborers worked twelve hours a day, six days a week, without vacations or holidays. There were
safety hazards at the job as well due to the dangerous machinery they had to work with. Under such
dangerous conditions, accidents occurred regularly. The majority of the workers also saw very little

it drastically fails, due to the many differences between the world s nations. Iran is one example of a

First, I will explain the general idea behind postcolonial theory, specifically orientalism, as it is one
major approach in postcolonial studies. Then I will look at some historical aspects of Iranian identity
development, discussing various events that have affected the psyche of Iranians as a community. I
will focus on Tehran s metropolitan area as it is the major city in Iran. As an outsider to Iranian culture

5. What are the three primary methods for implementing security on this network, as well as the
advantages and disadvantages each? WEP is an older security protocol for wireless networks that
encrypts transmitted data. WEP uses a security code chosen during configuration called a WEP key,
which uses a sequence of hexadecimal digits. WEP keys can be formed in different lengths depending
on the type of WEP encryption being utilized. However it is generally not recommended to use WEP
especially when we re talking about networks that need more advanced security. The biggest
disadvantage found with WEP is really it s main weakness, a skilled hacker could actually crack the
security key within a matter of minutes using special software. The most commonly used and
recommended network security method is WPA2

A differentiation strategy seeks to provide products or services that offer benefit that are different from
those of competitors and that are widely valued by buyers. (Johnson, Scholes Whittington, 2008). The
aim of using differentiation strategy is to achieve competitive advantage. This could be achieved for
example like the clothing brand ZARA, by offering better products at the same price. A differentiation
strategy must be based on two key factors: the strategic customers, the company has to identify their

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the practical implications of David G. Carnevale and Kay Ham
s publication Going Beyond Human Resource Management Technique found in Chapter 11 of the
Handbook of Human Resource Management in Government. The core theme of Carnevale and Ham s
article is that human resource management (HRM) should be more than just an enforcing or technical
entity. While there remains a need for policies to be written, FMLA paperwork to be processed,
classification studies to be conducted, and a bureaucratic approach that upholds consistent execution
of HR principles, HRM should play a strategic role in an organization s development as well. HRM
that operates strategically focuses on qualitative data, and leaves room for interpretation, whereas
control oriented HR methods follow a scientific, rigid formula. HRM can be conducted in both
manners, and the two paradigms can work symbiotically (Carnevale Ham, 262 263). The human
resource department in Davidson County interacts with DavidsonWorks, a county department and the
local workforce development board, within two HRM paradigms identified by Carnevale and Ham

Terrorism has been around since the early to late 11th century and it is directly related to the Middle
East and Muslims. The Hashshashin (roughly translated as the Assassins ) arose as an offspring of the
