Tsar Nicholas II’s Abdication was Preventable
Tsar Nicholas II s abdication in February 1917 was an event that both he could have prevented,
however a number of factors meant it was out of his control. A revolution in Russia was inevitable
and Nicolas was hapless to have been crowed a time of liberation; however his personality traits
and actions lead to abdication in February 1917. Nicholas lack of political understanding was a
constant delimitative factor throughout his rule, especially regarding Russiarevolutionary stance, the
Russo Japanese War, the 1905 revolution, The October Manifesto, Russia s participation in World
War and the influencing factors of his wife and Gerogery Rasputin. Which lead to the question,
was it Nicholas alone that led to his abdication in February 1917 or was it is combination of
influencing factors?
By 1894, Russia was economically and socially backwards, needing a ruler who could guide them to
modernisation and reform, without this a revolution is inevitable. Due to its proximity, Westernisers
were contrasting their lifestyle to that of the Europeans post industrialisation, identifying clear
injustices in their society. Literary critic Belinsky explains Everything great, noble , human and
spiritual came up, grew, burst into splendid bloom and brought fourth sumptuous fruit on European
soil (after the industrial revolution) Russians never had much to contrast their lifestyle to, however
the boom of Europe proposed an idea of an alternation which could be achieved in Russia. This

Class and Social Difference in Blood Brothers by Willy...
In the play Blood Brothers Willy Russell explores the differences between a working class
family and a middle class family during the downturn of industry in Liverpool in the 1960 and
70 s, resulting in The Recession in the early 1980 s. There is a twist on the fact that they are just
two opposite class families Mickey and Edward. They are two genetically identical twins; however
Mickey was brought up in a working class family and Eddie in a middle classfamily. By using these
two complete extremes, Russell has explored the history of the British class system in a very
extreme way. Seeing the different class upbringings teaches us about Nature vs. Nurture in society.
Russell chooses to open Blood Brothers with a Narrator speaking a ... Show more content on

This obviously immediately gives us the impression that Edward is from a middle or upper class
family because he uses so much formal language, even when saying bad things. By using this
strong language in their first meeting it gives the audience a clear view of the extremes in the
classes. The audience can find the first meeting quite funny because the actors play the two
extremes in quite humorous ways. Initially this can make the difference in class seem quite a
light subject when really, as we find out later in the play, it is an enormously important subject. I
think Russell is positively biased towards Mickey in this first meeting of the boys, possibly
because Mickey is from a lower class family and so was Russell. I think Russell is biased
because Mickey is bragging for the small things he loves to play with. However, even though
Edward probably has more than Mickey he doesn t make a show of it. Russell has made this first
meeting a very bold statement, as the boy s don t seem to show a difference between each other
in this first scene, they seem like two, normal, seven year old friends even though the difference
between the two classes is very obvious. I think this helps to introduce the differences lightly to
draw the audience in, so that they are ready for the drama that comes, later on in the play.
As the boys grow older, their different classes become more significant to the play. Edward goes off

The Economic Crisis Of 1997
The Indonesian economic crises that emerged out of the greater Asian Financial Crises of 1997 is
often presented as an example of an International Monetary Fund (IMF) project that created
problems for the receiving nation. As the video Globalization at a Crossroads stated in its final
words, It supported the case that economic globalization actually increased economic instability.
Indeed, there were immediate, and in some cases, irreversible consequences of the IMF s
intervention into Indonesia s economy. Examples of negative consequences included riots, massive
inflation and contraction in the economy (Shari, 1998). However, through the lens of the current
Indonesian economy, almost 20 years later, IMF intervention may have eventually worked as
intended, as the country has demonstrated economic stability and growth through several more
contemporary economic crises.
In the beginning of the IMF s intervention in Indonesia, it seemed as though the IMF could do
nothing right. On multiple occasions, Suharto, Indonesia s dictator, had upstaged and embarrassed
the IMF and IMF officials. The embarrassment hit a high note on May 14th, 1998 when riots and
fires ran the remaining IMF delegation out of the country, but not before they were shaken down
by immigration officials in exchange for food and water (Shari, 1998).
As Michael Shari reported in Business Week in 1998, the IMF s faith in Suharto as a trustworthy
and capable leader was severely flawed. At first, Suharto...won

Taylor Family Research Paper
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Christmas was always in my mind no
matter what time of year it was. I discovered a couple months back that our close family friends,
the Taylors, could not afford anything to get their children any Christmas presents. I had a
prompting to share this detail with the rest of my family members and we acted upon this news.
We decided to take this opportunity to serve our great family friends, which we owed so much to
them for all that they have done for us. We decided to save our money and that we each would not
get more than five Christmaspresents for ourselves. Instead, we would have our Christmas
presents be contributed towards the family. That would be our Christmas present. To be able to
give back and see how happy the Taylor family would be on Christmas day.... Show more content

This list was very long, for they have fifteen members of their family. Preparing the list meant that
the next step was shopping for the family. That also meant a lot of shopping for the Taylor family.
Another act of service was shown when our other family friends, the Gilberts, donated two
thousand dollars to help purchase gifts for the Taylor family. They are also close with the Taylors
and wanted to help contribute to this Secret Santa act.
As the list was finally finished, the shopping began. I got to travel to many stores with my
mother as we searched for the needed items for the Taylors. I couldn t contain my excitement
while we were shopping. I just had a joyful feeling as we shopped. It really brought the Christmas
spirit and made me even more excited to hear about the Taylors Christmas. We collected and
bought all the presents for the Taylors and our living room was filling up with the many gifts. That
meant it was time for us to begin

How Psychology Helps Us Understand the Concept of Language and Intelligence as Related to
Human Beings
Psychology, the study of behaviour and mental processes concerns itself with the reasons
organisms do what they do and how they behave in a particular way, For example why acquired
skills are not lost when learnt ; Why do children rebel against parents and, why humans speak, love
and fight each other. These examples of learning and behaviour are directly related to intelligence
and language in human beings.
It is said that language, foresight, musical skills and other hallmarks of intelligence are connected
through an underlying facility that enhances rapid movements. To most observers, the essence of

Alfred Binet and Theodore Simon together developed a test called the ( Simon Binet Test ), to
assess the ability of children s performance at school. They developed a table used to compare the
mental age of a child to the actual age to produce the concept of I.Q. The conclusion was that a
particular intelligent person often seem quick and capable of juggling many ideas at once.
Not to be outdone, Wechler developed intelligence scales for both adults and children (WAIS
WISC). The scales are in two parts VERBAL AND PERFORMANCE, giving a clear picture of the
person s IQ; by identifying their strength and weaknesses in specific areas .The information can be
used in planning individualized instruction programs.
To help us understand the nature side of intelligence versus the nurture side Psychologists

In the case of Bouchard and McGue the correlations thus provided were:

Identical twins reared together.86 compared to
Non identical twins reared together .60
Siblings reared apart.47
Then child and natural parent.50 while.

which are the platoons. To hold a higher position comes with great responsibility among the

Commercial Truck Drivers Research Paper
Vehicles are an iconic, essential part of American culture. For goods to be shipped between states,
commercial truck drivers have to have vehicles that can carry massive amounts of products.
Unfortunately, these trucks are not held to the same standard as personal trucks. Weak federal
regulations and profit driven manufacturers put profits over safety for truckdrivers. As a result,
commercial vehicles do not have the same safety requirements as personal vehicles.
A large commercial truck can easily weigh 20 times as much as a passenger car. If a commercial
truck crashes into a small passenger car, the small vehicle will be completely crushed. This problem
is worsened by the fact that many drivers are tired and trying to beat the deadline.

Spaying And Neuter Pets Essay
the Arms of an Angel and there are dogs and cats sitting behind a closed kennel door looking at
the camera with sad eyes. This breaks my heart every time I see this commercial or hear the song
playing on the radio. There are many millions of animals that are unloved, neglected and
abandoned in shelters each year because people do not participate in getting their animals spayed
or neutered or the animals are over bred for profit.
Animal overcrowding in shelters is only one reason of many as to why pet owners should spay or
neuter their pets, but it is the most important reason of all. Shelters all over the United States are
past the overcrowded level and even dog rescue groups are finding it harder and harder everyday to
find homes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you think about all these situations, the amount of animals in a shelter can rapidly increase
every day, and this is very sad that we have done this to our furry friends .
Spaying and neutering your animal can not only help with the overcrowding in shelters but can
actually be beneficial to your home and pets. Male dogs and cats when un neutered have a
tendency to mark their property. When they mark their territory it can lead to a very unpleasant
smell in and around your home. Have you ever walked a dog and noticed them peeing frequently
on fire hydrants, trees, corners or certain sections in the yard? This would be your male animal
stating that he is a male. When you neuter your male animal, this behavior decreases and thus
you can have a cleaner smelling house. Also, it is a recognizes concept amongst pet owners that
getting your animal fixed can help with behavioral issues such as aggression, dominance, and
also sexual arousal around a female animal. Female dogs and cats go into a heat cycle, similar to
that of a female human. Their cycle causes them to bleed for about two weeks and can make
quite the mess if you are not planning for it. Also, spaying can help with the females behavior as
well; they mellow down and are less fussy. If you re a female you know that when you re on your
cycle you can be temperamental, it s the same for female dogs and cats.
There is also health related issues that are more prominent in animals that aren t

Later on 12th December 2016, Trump slammed Lockheed Martin for the high cost expenditure
tied with its F 35 program. The market reaction was quite immediate where the shares of the

considered that the jet manufacturer was on the point to lose its military contract from the
government due to the high cost involved. As a response to this, this tweet has spurred the
investors to forgo on such investment, driving the prices down. A slight recovery from the losses

Water Potential Essay
The western part of the country has exhibited the criteria that has warranted water relocation
efforts. For a time, the water diversion efforts worked to serve the communities around it
appropriately. However, as the withdrawal of water has exceeded the supply and as climate change
has contributed to decreasing water supply, there are serious threats to the future of available water
in the western United States. One proposed solution involves diverting water from the Great Lakes

Thus, there is a high demand for water. At present, Pennsylvania does not face the water shortages
that warrant water relocation, however, if surface and groundwater withdrawals increase it could
push Pennsylvania closer to considering installing more hydrological alterations and exacerbate the
problems that currently face the nation as a whole.
There is a clear demand for water in locations that do not naturally have an adequate supply. Water
diversion projects serve their purpose in providing water for individual consumers as well as for
irrigation and industry. However, as illustrated in this paper, there are severe consequences that
arise when disrupting the natural flow of water the ecosystem around it. To mitigate some of the
consequences national geographic has suggested restricting the construction of dams, providing
incentives for farming business to reduce the use of pesticides, establishing protected wetlands
areas, and regulating water withdrawal for human use (Freshwater Threats, 2016). It is important
that the solutions to reduce the negative effects of hydrological alterations are aimed at various
areas. Efforts should be aimed at reducing the demand for water by increasing efficiency in industry
and irrigation as well as increasing the efficiency of water delivery. Efforts should be aimed at the
careful planning, engineering, and construction of the hydrological alterations with special attention

A Research Paper on the Life of John Stuart Mill
This research paper focuses on the life of John Stuart Mill and how it affected his economic
theories. John Stuart Mill s grew up unlike most, raised since his adolescence to be the face of
utilitarianism. This upbringing may have had some effect on his theories and overall beliefs in his
economic policies.
Born in 1806, John Stuart Mill was the son of economist James Mill. From a very early age his
father instilled a discipline of studies. When he was very young he began to read Latin, and
comprehend algebra arithmetic. Being the oldest of the family, he was the one in charge of
teaching his fellow siblings everything he had learned. He also studied Greek, and followed the
works of Plato. Although learning these amounts of work may seem like a good thing, it was
clear he could not handle such amount of knowledge. Missing out on much of his youth, and
straying away from a typical kid s life, it wasn t soon until John Stuart Mill began to self implode.
His father s plans was to create a genius, to carry on the legacy. James Mill sent his son with
Jeremy Bentham, and originator amongst utilitarianism. Jeremy Bentham was the first to
acknowledge the theory of utilitarianism. This theory acknowledges that everyone must act in a
manner as to produce the greatest aggregate happiness. This theory is the strong hold that John
Stuart Mill practiced in his years to come, and would later be recognized as a forefather. One of the
main problems with utilitarianism was that

Homework Assignment Analysis
Writing has always been a passion of mine. I love sitting and putting my thoughts on paper. I
make lists, write God letters, send people cards, and pour my thoughts and feelings out through
the scribble of a pen. Since I love to write, I am always encouraging my grandkids to write as

Be excited about this new adventure and let the child know it is a big deal not just another

Seeing you write in your journal sets an example for them and can also peak their interest. Another
benefit of working on the journal together, at least in the beginning, is that you can help the child
arrange their thoughts and coach them along as they attempt to put them on paper. My rule is
spelling; grammar and punctuation are not being graded so the child is free to be creative without
fear of being judged for their mistakes.
There are many different styles of journals these days, but I prefer the ones that are not dated. If
the child gets busy and skips a few days it can be discouraging to go back and start writing again.
If there is no date no big deal just start writing. I do recommend that you start each new entry with
a date; this will help in years to come to remember when you wrote the entry.

your little writers to put down how they are feeling; what makes them happy or sad and special

Sexism In Modern Society
Sexism is the failure to give equal weight to women s interests. It is the antithesis of feminism, a
moral, political, and social movement that seeks justice for women. Sexism is important because
it undermines the welfare of one half of the human population and is a major source of women s
oppression. The concept of women as inferior to men originates from ancient civilization. Since the
beginning of time, men are gifted the titled as strong, independent, and the bread winner for the
entire households. In a sense, men are superior as they hold all the power and ability to decide for
their household and nation. On the other hand, women are limited to only reside in the home as
their duties cleaning, cooking, and nursing belongs at home. This suppression and imbalance in
power is still a constant battle for women even after the Women s Rights Movement. Women fought
for equality and desired to have the freedom to express their minds and do activities outside the
home like men. They were eventually granted this freedom as time progressed, but genderroles are
still present in modern society. One particular stereotype portrayed by the media is women s
inability to fight and protect themselves. Female characters are often depicted as a damsels in
distress, always in need of protection or rescuing from a male character. Sadly enough, this
perception is not always true. Women are not weak, fragile, or incapable of protecting themselves.
If anything, females have the capability to

his options. This meant that McGuire may have backdated his options granting himself shares

saying they were not handling stock options correctly (Lewis, 2006). McGuire in February sold

This exercised that he owned 6% of the company but back in November of 2004 he sold shares as

Nonviolent Resistance To Martin Luther King
Some of Martin Luther King s ways to end segregation were nonviolent and direct action. The way
the people handled this was amazing but at the same time is was incredibly dangerous. The
definition of nonviolent, direct action is using peaceful means rather than force, especially to bring
about political or social change. Furthermore, examples of non violent direct action (also known as
nonviolent resistance or civil resistance) include sit ins, strikes, workplace occupations, blockades,
or activism, while violent direct action may include political violence, sabotage, property
destruction, or assaults.
Meanwhile people believe that if the violence were only on the part of the white community, but on
the other hand people disagree because back then the only people that was criticized called names
and hit and treated disrespectfully was African Americans. And the people of did these terrible
things was the white people. For example, Over 15,000 African American democrats were arrested

Marine Corps Essay
The Marine Corps has been protecting America s freedom and acting as a symbol of strength
since 1775. The United States Marine Corps is a force for greatness, bound to the words liberty
and justice, sworn to protect every American soul. Marines have battled on land, in air, and at
sea for their country and many brave men and women have lost their lives in the line of fire.
These brave soldiers are lead by intelligent officers who are strong leaders, quick decision makers,
and possess great mental toughness. The young men and women blessed with the privilege of
being officers in the Marine Corps face many hardships on their journey to greatness, yet many

There are many different ways to become an officer in the Marine Corps, but the most common
way is through college. Students must graduate college with at least a bachelor s degree and be
a current U.S. citizen. After completing college students must then apply to OCS (Officer

Proper Prostrate Cancer Treatment Essay
Being diagnosed with cancer has always been taken as a death sentence by a majority of the
population. This can partly be contributed by the fact that most people do not understand clearly
what cancer is. The way most reporters and some journalist have reviewed information relating to
prostate cancer has been hazardous.
Proper cancer treatment, especially prostate cancer in men is possible as reviewed in this article.
The article is a citation from the referenced materials and sources in which it is possibly saying,
cancer gets presented as any other form of illness hugely misinterpreted and one that can easily be
cured.

They guide how soon one should start prostate cancer screening.
Men of African American descent and those with a prostate cancer family history are considered
to be in a high risk. Therefore, they should start their prostate cancer screening at the age of forty
years. This is approximately ten years earlier than other men who are in the low risk group.
Belonging to the high risk group makes those in the high risk group more susceptible to prostate
cancer.
The main complications that indicate a potential prostate cancer development are; a burning
sensation when urinating, urgency to urinate, and increased frequency in urination coupled with a
fever. These are all symptoms of urinary tract infection which can point towards prostate cancer.
Bladder obstruction is also a prostate cancer pointer. In bladder obstruction, one is unable to urinate
or has remarkably little urine despite having drunk enough fluids. There is exceedingly little urine
despite one straining to experiencing pain due to a full bladder.

There is acute kidney failure which has indications similar to those seen in bladder obstruction
and deep bone pain. Deep bone pain is usually as a result of prostate cancer having spread to the
bones. One is likely to experience pain in the back, thighs or hips.
Bone fracture in some cases, are seen when prostate cancer has advanced to the bones. Spinal cord

The Causes Of World Hunger In The World
Tommy Luong Dave King English 150 20 September 2017Without Food Death Is All I Have
Left To Eat The day usually starts with breakfast but there is no food to be seen or be eaten, so
all that is left to do is starve and wait until your next opportunity to eat happens. This is a reality
for those around the world as some people are unable to get food for themselves or for their
families. This is contributed by the world s population being around 7 billion people and still
growing to a higher population. This high population and its rapid growth rate of about 80
million births per year can lead to potential food shortages in different places in the world that
makes world hunger becoming a major social problem that can lead to disease and countries
dying because of starvation. Some would say that helping world hunger is a waste of developed
nations resources. However that is something I disagree with because a lot of the world
production of goods come from undeveloped countries. In order to reduce the problem they re
should be a way to limit the population growth in countries in the world that are highly
populated besides China s one child law already in place or have a way to better sustain the
world s growing population. The causes of world hunger in the world is due to the increase in
population in very developed countries allowing a longer life span causing the world population to
increase more quickly because there would be a higher consumption of food and it would

Semiotic Analysis of True Detective
Semiotic Analysis of True Detective In 1951, the first television crime drama series, Dragnet
significantly influenced our American culture. According to the New Oxford American Dictionary,
the term dragnet is a symbol, for, a system of coordinated measures used to apprehend criminals or
suspects. Most crime drama series solve a different case each episode. Although, in current pop
culture crime dramas focus on one particular crime, throughout an entire season. Similar, to the
show Homeland, the HBO crime drama True Detectiveadds a twist on the conventional series. The
show depicts a subject matter that has affected modern society as a whole. Southern Louisiana
policedetectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart, in 2012, are asked to revisit their solving of a
ritualistic murder case from 1995. The murder of a former student of the Light of the Way Christian
Academy lays the foundation, for detective Cohle s doubts about the true design of religion. The
True Detective storyline portrays the utilization of religion, education, and politics, by men in
power who manipulate and control young innocent children. Questioning the validity of religion
within a crime drama series is relative to modern society. The conspiracy within the Catholic
Church to suppress hundreds of child molestations committed, by Catholic priests is a pertinent
sign represented in True Detective . Southern Louisiana is located in the heart of the American
Bible belt, where religion is not a choice, but a

How Carbonated Water Affects The Production Of Amylase By...
Almost everyone has sat down on their couch, turned on the T.V., and sat there for hours, eating
chips and drinking soda. It may have never occurred to people that, when they do this, a chemical
reaction is being catalyzed in their mouths by the enzyme amylase. This chemical reaction happens
all the time, but with soda in the mix during this reaction, the outcome could be different. This
experiment will test how carbonated water, like that of soda, affects the production of sugars by
breaking down starch through amylase. Amylase is an enzymethat breaks down plant starches into
simple sugars like glucose. There are many types of amylase, but the one found in humans saliva
is alpha amylase. Alpha amylase breaks up polysaccharide bonds within the starch molecules by
using water in order to reduce them to glucose. This breaking up is called hydrolysis. The alpha
amylase... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This project expands on previous research by providing a direct connection between carbonated
water and amylase s production of glucose. Now, the only information found connecting these
topics is that they both aid in digestion. In this project the effect of carbonated water on the
production of glucose by amylase will experimented to different degrees. The independent,
manipulated variable is the amount of carbonated water and the dependent, responding variable is
the amount of glucose produced by amylase. Various percentages of a carbonated water and water
solution, including just water and just carbonated water, will be combined with starch to make
many different solutions. Amylase will be poured into each of those solutions and then, the amount
of glucose created from the hydrolysis of the starch in the solution will be recorded. This will show

Aquinas Legality Of War
Among some of the subjects that Aquinas tackles in On Law, Morality, and Politics is the
dilemma of War and Killing. Aquinas sums up the legality of war through three criteria: that the
war waged is done by a legitimate authority, that the war is just because the enemy has done
something grossly wrong, and the intention of the war is to solely right the wrong. Also we see
Aquinas say that the killing of an innocent person is justified if God will s it. Aquinas argues that
one of the objectives in order to make a war justified is when a legitimate authority declares it.
Typical it is usually a country s top leadership that would count as legitimate authority, however in
the United Statesit is not the President who can legally declare... Show more content on

If this was the policy that was to be followed, the United States would not be a country since it
was private citizens, who according to Aquinas are certainly not legitimate authority, who armed
themselves and rebelled against the British. The former colonies who revolted and rebelled
against their Imperial European countries would not be awarded their own countries because the
people who are ruled are not in authority and thus, according to Aquinas, cannot wage war. The
second criterion for waging war because the enemy has done something wrong against the first
country I can agree with Aquinas is just. When a country has repeatedly harassed another country,
made consistent threats and provokes another country to war by building up their military and
does represent a threat to the country and/or the surrounding countries, then I believe it is just for
the first country to act and to ensure stability by eliminating the threat. A country who constantly
causes trouble within its own borders and/or nearby countries cannot be left about if diplomacy
and negotiating for peace goes nowhere, waiting will only stir more trouble and peace will
become more threatened if it hasn t already been removed. The third is somewhat unrealistic in
my opinion. Throughout mankind, wars have been waged never solely to right a wrong . Lives
are lost, land and property are damaged and destroyed, life is hell during war. It

Analysis Of What You Eat Is Your Business By Radley Balko
Today, America is suffering from one of the world s biggest problems that is obesity .The
government is trying to solve obesity by forbidding junk food in school testing restaurant s menu,
and having specific food options for consumers. By the name of the article What You Eat

Therefore the author Radley Balko argues that it is not the government responsibility, it is each
individual responsibility.

American consumers, our government ought to be working to foster a sense of responsibility in

What I disagree with is that Balko says that the government involvement is the wrong way to fight

Why Are Asylum Seekers Be Allowed In Australia
Asylum seekers
Asylum seekers are not illegal, it is a human right to seek asylum by boat in Australia, and this is
shown by the UN refugee convention and Australian migration act 1958. Thousands of asylum
seekers have asked to be protected over the past decade. The main reasons why so many asylum
seekers are coming to Australia is because war, civil UN rest and persecution. 1000 asylum seekers
have died trying to get to Australia over the past decade and 27 people have died in the Australian
detention centres over the past 12 years.
My view
I believe that asylum seekers should be allowed into the country. I think all women who have
children should not be but in detention centres, and they should be first priority to enable them
access to a safe place. However if they are coming into our country they need to follow our rules. I
believe that the nature and context of asylum seekers is an economic and historical. ... Show more

An asylum seeker is a person who has fled from their country but is not yet accepted as a refuge.
Their refugee status is processed by the United Nations high commissioner for refugees or a
government that is a participant to the United Nations refuge conventions. They decide whether
they are in danger, or if they are trying to get into the country for free, in that case the government
does not have to follow the convention relating to the status of refugees.
Why do asylum seekers come to Australia?
Asylum seekers come to Australia, because for some people coming to Australia, it is the closest
country accepting asylum seekers to them. There are very few countries between Australia and the
countries they are coming from. Asylum seekers come to Australia because they may have been

The Types Of Support That An End User May Require
Chapter 2: Literature Review
The four types of support that an end user may require are general support, functional support,
data support, and purchasing support. General support includes networks, software, hardware, and
other training related support (Govindarajulu, 2014). General Support is the only form of support
that will be included in this study. A university will on average work only with general support for
their users. While some authors (Gibson, 2014, for example) focus on a general overview of help
desk requirements, others PChelps (2008) look more closely at different aspects including costs,
where users get their support (Govindarajulu, 2014), and how to evaluate a help desk (Sheehan,
2007). This case study will take a quantitative approach to evaluation of a help desk instead of a
qualitative as other researchers have conducted. This literature review will discuss how the help
desk affects a company s reputation, the costs it has to a company, how a help desk can be
evaluated, and how to improve a help desk s customer service.
Purpose of Help Desk
The purpose of a help desk is to provide internal users (employees or students) and external users
with technical support. This support is optimizing computer software, network troubleshooting,
virus removal, password resets, and any other types of computer related problems that the user may
encounter (Gibson, 2014). The help desk staff is generally the most likely to be contacted by users,

gets to the meeting, he enters just to sit and rest until someone encourages him to listen to the

never heard anyone speak so vividly of the realities he was facing each day, causing him much

finds a new job, under a socialist boss, Sinclair makes it obvious that this is a much better political
party than capitalism since Jurgis is making thirty plus dollars each month. This new wage is
nothing compared to the amount he was making before. Throughout the novel capitalism is
portrayed as a destructive form of government while Sinclair promotes socialism. Another major

Implementing The Universal Protocol Procedure
In 2003, as an outcome of all the sentinel events reported to the Joint commission lead to the
creation of the The Universal protocol for preventing wrong site, wrong procedures, and wrong
person surgery (Mulloy Hughes 2008). So, one of the ways that could have potentially prevented
the situation from happening at the first place was implementing the universal protocol
procedure. According to the protocol the conduction of proper pre as well as post operating
procedures are extremely mandatory. Therefore, by enforcing a standardized routine pre operating
procedure such as verifying the patient as well as the correct site for the procedure, by having the
medical staff or preferably the physician marking the operating site with his or her initials before
the surgery will be an effective preventive measure (Mulloy Hughes 2008). Also, by properly
conducting a time out session where the patient is provided with a standardized briefing prior to the
patient is sedated in the OR could also eliminate some the sentinel or adverse events in the OR.
Furthermore, follow a checklist, which not only pertains to the surgery itself, but also focuses on
the other procedures involved such as admissions, anesthesia equipment, and discharge (Mulloy
Hughes 2008). Using Technology to Improve Patient Safety Another effective measure that could
have potentially helped to avoid the situation at the first place was implementation of technology

Freedom to Change
Linguistic innovation is a crucial component in Hip Hop or Rap music and in everyday life. As
Curzan and Adams mention in How English Works, there are an infinite number of possible
utterances one can create from the English language. Therefore, who determines what is
acceptable and what is not? Over the centuries, language has changed because of different
influences. For example, Hip Hop and Rap music emerged when African Americans used it as an
expression of their struggle against oppression and economic limitations. These changes may be
acceptable in some circles, but are frowned upon by the society that judges a person by the way
they speak. We the people change the English language and no authority can control those changes.
The use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One might argue that this cannot be acceptable, perhaps for now soon this word too will become
of the vernacular of the majority. The use of creative utterances encompasses most of Jay Z and
Kanyes lyrics. They refer to the car as a whip (56). There appears to be an association with a fast
whipping action and the car alluding that the car is also fast. A common utterance appears in
line 59, I m about to kill it, an expression that is used by many people. This phrase translates to be
great at something and excel. One understands that he means this rather than actually about to
murder something. People often say to wish them luck by expressing, hope you kill it, or knock
them dead. This example is full of evidence f how language has changed and is changing every
day. Lupe Fiascos shows how powerful language and language choice can be in his song, Dumb
it Down. He begins a very lyrically poetic verse, explaining how he is unable to hear, or see what
is going on. Lupe is describing how the use of intellectual language is not preferred by the Rap
music industry. This shows how language controls the perception of many people. Lupe is
attempting to expose how people define people by the way they speak. In How English Works, the
power of language is focused on, Words have the power to hurt

The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie Summary
In The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie narration is a key element in the appeal of the story. The book
starts off in medias res and continues to make use of both analepses and prolepses. Many believe
that an omniscient narrator, in part because of the anachrony, recounts the book but in this essay I
will argue that the book has an unreliable narratorthrough examination of the narration of character

By doing all this she makes the narrator unreliable. She consciously or unconsciously endorses the
treatment of Mary by Miss Brody and her set. This endorsement of the treatment of Mary result in a
narration with biased details which brings into question the entire narrative discourse because if she
is unreliable toward Mary, then we can presume that she might be unreliable towards other

Arm Wrestling With My Father By Brad Manner
The love this father has for his son is unique and unequivocally expressed, as one will discover in
this compassionate and heartwarming short essay Arm Wrestling with My Father, written by Brad
Manner. Brad Manner wrote this persuasive essay for his freshman composition course, where he
shared his unique relationship with his father, as the two bonded through ritualistic father son
competitive arm wrestling. His father s arm symbolizes the strength and love he has for his son.
However, as the story progresses into Manner s college years, the symbolical power and strength of
his father begins to fade as his father s unwavering strength weakens with the inevitable and
unforgiving progression of ageing. During an arm wrestling competition, for the first time Manner
surprisingly takes his father s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Viewing the arm as he always had, strong and fast, Manner was prepared to lose. Manner
realized that this time was vastly different from all other arm wrestling matches. All aspiration to
win had passed, leaving Manner feeling empathetic towards his father. Manner compared this
particular experience arm wrestling with his father to that of a kid hooking the trophy fish, the
old fish that Lake Ouachita holds, but you can never catch, and when you finally think you ve
got him, you want to let him go, cut the line, keep the legend alive (Manner 170). Manner
realized that the roles between he and his father were beginning to change. His father s arms
were once a symbol of his father s strength, love, and security. Manner himself said, Whenever I
am near him I am unafraid, knowing his arms are ready to catch me and keep me safe , (170).
Manner would prefer that this inevitable change does not occur, and questioned if he could
physically carry his father, as his father once did for him when he was ill with

Classical Liberalism V.S. Reform Liberalism on the Issue...

Classical Liberalism V.S. Reform Liberalism on the issue of Wealth Redistribution and Income
Classical Liberalism is against government interventionism in all realms of life. They believe that
everyone should be treated equally regardless of income. This differs from reform liberalism, as
they want government intervention to guarantee equality of opportunity. This is made possible by
progressive income tax, government regulation on big business, and social welfare. In My opinion
Classical Liberalism is superior as its fair and easier to implement than reform Liberalism.

The Classical Liberalist, would oppose any regulation on the economy. As they believe that those
who are able to make money based on the principle of supply and demand already have helped the
welfare of other in the process. Classical Liberalist s understand inequality as an inevitable result
of free competition, and actually see it as beneficial in the long run as capital is reinvested, to
create new technology, employment and opportunities. If this capital were to be taxed heavily
instead, many opportunities and jobs would be lost further adding to the inequality of wealth and
opportunity for the poor.
The biggest difference s between the set s of ideologies is that Reform Liberalism believes in
equality of opportunity, and that it is ethical to reduce the freedom for some if it means increasing
it for others. Classical Liberalist s believe that the invisible hand will regulate the economy and that
any wealth redistribution to the poor would harm them in the long run. They believe that everyone
should be completely in control of their own destiny. I think that Classical Liberalism is the
superior theory as it sticks to very simple principles, and it hold everyone responsible for their
actions.

The Culture Of The Gaming Culture
On November 9th, 1994, there was a chemical element called Darmstadtium. It s a radioactive
heavy metal that is name after the city Darmstadt, Germany where it was first found. It s a
manmade element that Yuri Oganessian Vladimir Utyonkov at the JINR made isotope 273 by
combining plutonium and sulfur together. Within the same year, Peter Armbruster and Gottfried
Munzenberg from the GSI unit uses lead and nickel to combine it with isotope 269 into the
previous isotope. With the combinations it created a new element and called it element 110. There
is still little known things about the element such as the boiling point and the melting point. I
noticed cultural events are something that has influenced me as I was growing up, such as my
mentioning about Cambodia. Since my mom is a refugee, those news were brought to her by a
friend who could understand English. It s because of her actions and mentioning Cambodia, it
gave me more of a connection with my culture. The gaming culture is something that has
influenced me heavily. With the releases of gaming consoles, my brother and I would play games
a lot. It eventually made me branch out to PC gaming and mobile gaming. Spongebob is a very
known cartoon here in the U.S. that influenced my childhood to interact with other kids by quoting
the shows. And because it s one of the longest running kid shows, my nine year old niece has a
connection with me by understanding the Spongebob references I made. It s interesting how

  • 2. Tsar Nicholas II’s Abdication was Preventable Tsar Nicholas II s abdication in February 1917 was an event that both he could have prevented, however a number of factors meant it was out of his control. A revolution in Russia was inevitable and Nicolas was hapless to have been crowed a time of liberation; however his personality traits and actions lead to abdication in February 1917. Nicholas lack of political understanding was a constant delimitative factor throughout his rule, especially regarding Russiarevolutionary stance, the Russo Japanese War, the 1905 revolution, The October Manifesto, Russia s participation in World War and the influencing factors of his wife and Gerogery Rasputin. Which lead to the question, was it Nicholas alone that led to his abdication in February 1917 or was it is combination of influencing factors? By 1894, Russia was economically and socially backwards, needing a ruler who could guide them to modernisation and reform, without this a revolution is inevitable. Due to its proximity, Westernisers were contrasting their lifestyle to that of the Europeans post industrialisation, identifying clear injustices in their society. Literary critic Belinsky explains Everything great, noble , human and spiritual came up, grew, burst into splendid bloom and brought fourth sumptuous fruit on European soil (after the industrial revolution) Russians never had much to contrast their lifestyle to, however the boom of Europe proposed an idea of an alternation which could be achieved in Russia. • 3. Class and Social Difference in Blood Brothers by Willy... In the play Blood Brothers Willy Russell explores the differences between a working class family and a middle class family during the downturn of industry in Liverpool in the 1960 and 70 s, resulting in The Recession in the early 1980 s. There is a twist on the fact that they are just two opposite class families Mickey and Edward. They are two genetically identical twins; however Mickey was brought up in a working class family and Eddie in a middle classfamily. By using these two complete extremes, Russell has explored the history of the British class system in a very extreme way. Seeing the different class upbringings teaches us about Nature vs. Nurture in society. Russell chooses to open Blood Brothers with a Narrator speaking a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This obviously immediately gives us the impression that Edward is from a middle or upper class family because he uses so much formal language, even when saying bad things. By using this strong language in their first meeting it gives the audience a clear view of the extremes in the classes. The audience can find the first meeting quite funny because the actors play the two extremes in quite humorous ways. Initially this can make the difference in class seem quite a light subject when really, as we find out later in the play, it is an enormously important subject. I think Russell is positively biased towards Mickey in this first meeting of the boys, possibly because Mickey is from a lower class family and so was Russell. I think Russell is biased because Mickey is bragging for the small things he loves to play with. However, even though Edward probably has more than Mickey he doesn t make a show of it. Russell has made this first meeting a very bold statement, as the boy s don t seem to show a difference between each other in this first scene, they seem like two, normal, seven year old friends even though the difference between the two classes is very obvious. I think this helps to introduce the differences lightly to draw the audience in, so that they are ready for the drama that comes, later on in the play. As the boys grow older, their different classes become more significant to the play. Edward goes off to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Economic Crisis Of 1997 The Indonesian economic crises that emerged out of the greater Asian Financial Crises of 1997 is often presented as an example of an International Monetary Fund (IMF) project that created problems for the receiving nation. As the video Globalization at a Crossroads stated in its final words, It supported the case that economic globalization actually increased economic instability. Indeed, there were immediate, and in some cases, irreversible consequences of the IMF s intervention into Indonesia s economy. Examples of negative consequences included riots, massive inflation and contraction in the economy (Shari, 1998). However, through the lens of the current Indonesian economy, almost 20 years later, IMF intervention may have eventually worked as intended, as the country has demonstrated economic stability and growth through several more contemporary economic crises. In the beginning of the IMF s intervention in Indonesia, it seemed as though the IMF could do nothing right. On multiple occasions, Suharto, Indonesia s dictator, had upstaged and embarrassed the IMF and IMF officials. The embarrassment hit a high note on May 14th, 1998 when riots and fires ran the remaining IMF delegation out of the country, but not before they were shaken down by immigration officials in exchange for food and water (Shari, 1998). As Michael Shari reported in Business Week in 1998, the IMF s faith in Suharto as a trustworthy and capable leader was severely flawed. At first, Suharto...won ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spaying and neutering your animal can not only help with the overcrowding in shelters but can actually be beneficial to your home and pets. Male dogs and cats when un neutered have a tendency to mark their property. When they mark their territory it can lead to a very unpleasant smell in and around your home. Have you ever walked a dog and noticed them peeing frequently on fire hydrants, trees, corners or certain sections in the yard? This would be your male animal stating that he is a male. When you neuter your male animal, this behavior decreases and thus you can have a cleaner smelling house. Female dogs and cats go into a heat cycle, similar to that of a female human. Their cycle causes them to bleed for about two weeks and can make quite the mess if you are not planning for it. John Stuart Mill s grew up unlike most, raised since his adolescence to be the face of utilitarianism. This upbringing may have had some effect on his theories and overall beliefs in his economic policies. Born in 1806, John Stuart Mill was the son of economist James Mill. From a very early age his father instilled a discipline of studies. When he was very young he began to read Latin, and comprehend algebra arithmetic. Being the oldest of the family, he was the one in charge of teaching his fellow siblings everything he had learned. He also studied Greek, and followed the works of Plato. Although learning these amounts of work may seem like a good thing, it was clear he could not handle such amount of knowledge. It is the antithesis of feminism, a moral, political, and social movement that seeks justice for women. Sexism is important because it undermines the welfare of one half of the human population and is a major source of women s oppression. The concept of women as inferior to men originates from ancient civilization. Since the beginning of time, men are gifted the titled as strong, independent, and the bread winner for the entire households. In a sense, men are superior as they hold all the power and ability to decide for their household and nation. On the other hand, women are limited to only reside in the home as their duties cleaning, cooking, and nursing belongs at home. This suppression and imbalance in power is still a constant battle for women even after the Women s Rights Movement. Women fought for equality and desired to have the freedom to express their minds and do activities outside the home like men. They were eventually granted this freedom as time progressed, but genderroles are still present in modern society. One particular stereotype portrayed by the media is women s inability to fight and protect themselves. Some would say that helping world hunger is a waste of developed nations resources. However that is something I disagree with because a lot of the world production of goods come from undeveloped countries. In order to reduce the problem they re should be a way to limit the population growth in countries in the world that are highly populated besides China s one child law already in place or have a way to better sustain the world s growing population. The causes of world hunger in the world is due to the increase in population in very developed countries allowing a longer life span causing the world population to increase more quickly because there would be a higher consumption of food and it would ... According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, the term dragnet is a symbol, for, a system of coordinated measures used to apprehend criminals or suspects. Most crime drama series solve a different case each episode. Although, in current pop culture crime dramas focus on one particular crime, throughout an entire season. Similar, to the show Homeland, the HBO crime drama True Detectiveadds a twist on the conventional series. The show depicts a subject matter that has affected modern society as a whole. Southern Louisiana policedetectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart, in 2012, are asked to revisit their solving of a ritualistic murder case from 1995. The murder of a former student of the Light of the Way Christian Academy lays the foundation, for detective Cohle s doubts about the true design of religion. The True Detective storyline portrays the utilization of religion, education, and politics, by men in power who manipulate and control young innocent children. Questioning the validity of religion within a crime drama series is relative to modern society. The conspiracy within the Catholic Church to suppress hundreds of child molestations committed, by Catholic priests is a pertinent sign represented in True Detective . • 25. How Carbonated Water Affects The Production Of Amylase By... Almost everyone has sat down on their couch, turned on the T.V., and sat there for hours, eating chips and drinking soda. It may have never occurred to people that, when they do this, a chemical reaction is being catalyzed in their mouths by the enzyme amylase. This chemical reaction happens all the time, but with soda in the mix during this reaction, the outcome could be different. This experiment will test how carbonated water, like that of soda, affects the production of sugars by breaking down starch through amylase. Amylase is an enzymethat breaks down plant starches into simple sugars like glucose. There are many types of amylase, but the one found in humans saliva is alpha amylase. Alpha amylase breaks up polysaccharide bonds within the starch molecules by using water in order to reduce them to glucose. This breaking up is called hydrolysis. The alpha amylase... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This project expands on previous research by providing a direct connection between carbonated water and amylase s production of glucose. Now, the only information found connecting these topics is that they both aid in digestion. In this project the effect of carbonated water on the production of glucose by amylase will experimented to different degrees. The independent, manipulated variable is the amount of carbonated water and the dependent, responding variable is the amount of glucose produced by amylase. Various percentages of a carbonated water and water solution, including just water and just carbonated water, will be combined with starch to make many different solutions. Amylase will be poured into each of those solutions and then, the amount of glucose created from the hydrolysis of the starch in the solution will be recorded. This will show what the effect of carbonated water on the production of glucose by amylase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Aquinas Legality Of War Among some of the subjects that Aquinas tackles in On Law, Morality, and Politics is the dilemma of War and Killing. Aquinas sums up the legality of war through three criteria: that the war waged is done by a legitimate authority, that the war is just because the enemy has done something grossly wrong, and the intention of the war is to solely right the wrong. Also we see Aquinas say that the killing of an innocent person is justified if God will s it. Aquinas argues that one of the objectives in order to make a war justified is when a legitimate authority declares it. Typical it is usually a country s top leadership that would count as legitimate authority, however in the United Statesit is not the President who can legally declare... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this was the policy that was to be followed, the United States would not be a country since it was private citizens, who according to Aquinas are certainly not legitimate authority, who armed themselves and rebelled against the British. The former colonies who revolted and rebelled against their Imperial European countries would not be awarded their own countries because the people who are ruled are not in authority and thus, according to Aquinas, cannot wage war. The second criterion for waging war because the enemy has done something wrong against the first country I can agree with Aquinas is just. When a country has repeatedly harassed another country, made consistent threats and provokes another country to war by building up their military and does represent a threat to the country and/or the surrounding countries, then I believe it is just for the first country to act and to ensure stability by eliminating the threat. A country who constantly causes trouble within its own borders and/or nearby countries cannot be left about if diplomacy and negotiating for peace goes nowhere, waiting will only stir more trouble and peace will become more threatened if it hasn t already been removed. The third is somewhat unrealistic in my opinion. Throughout mankind, wars have been waged never solely to right a wrong . Lives are lost, land and property are damaged and destroyed, life is hell during war. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thousands of asylum seekers have asked to be protected over the past decade. The main reasons why so many asylum seekers are coming to Australia is because war, civil UN rest and persecution. 1000 asylum seekers have died trying to get to Australia over the past decade and 27 people have died in the Australian detention centres over the past 12 years. General support includes networks, software, hardware, and other training related support (Govindarajulu, 2014). General Support is the only form of support that will be included in this study. A university will on average work only with general support for their users. While some authors (Gibson, 2014, for example) focus on a general overview of help desk requirements, others PChelps (2008) look more closely at different aspects including costs, where users get their support (Govindarajulu, 2014), and how to evaluate a help desk (Sheehan, 2007). This case study will take a quantitative approach to evaluation of a help desk instead of a qualitative as other researchers have conducted. This literature review will discuss how the help desk affects a company s reputation, the costs it has to a company, how a help desk can be evaluated, and how to improve a help desk s customer service. Purpose of Help Desk The purpose of a help desk is to provide internal users (employees or students) and external users with technical support. So, one of the ways that could have potentially prevented the situation from happening at the first place was implementing the universal protocol procedure. According to the protocol the conduction of proper pre as well as post operating procedures are extremely mandatory. Therefore, by enforcing a standardized routine pre operating procedure such as verifying the patient as well as the correct site for the procedure, by having the medical staff or preferably the physician marking the operating site with his or her initials before the surgery will be an effective preventive measure (Mulloy Hughes 2008). Also, by properly conducting a time out session where the patient is provided with a standardized briefing prior to the patient is sedated in the OR could also eliminate some the sentinel or adverse events in the OR. For example, Hip Hop and Rap music emerged when African Americans used it as an expression of their struggle against oppression and economic limitations.
