Business- to- Government e- commerce is
generally defined as commerce between
companies and the public sector. It refers to

licensing procedures, and government related
operations.

and services to government agencies.

Government- to- Business is a business
model that refers to government providing
services or information to business
organization.
Government uses B2G model website to
approach business organizations. Such
websites support auctions, tenders and
application submission functionalities.

The govt. plans to build a flyover. For this the govt.
request for tenders from various contractors. Govt. can
do this over the internet by using the G2B model.

E- COMMERCE  It is commonly known as electronic marketing.  It consist of buying and selling goods and services over an electronic system such as internet.  E- commerce is the purchasing, selling & exchanging goods and services over computer network or internet through which transactions or terms of sales are performed electronically.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF E- COMMERCE  (B2B) i.e. Business- to- Business Commerce  (B2C) i.e. Business- to- Consumer Commerce  (B2G) i.e. Business- to- Government Commerce  (C2C) i.e. Consumer- to- Consumer Commerce  (G2C) i.e. Government- to- Consumer Commerce  (G2B) i.e. Government- to- Business Commerce
  • 5. B2B COMMERCE B2B commerce is simply defined as commerce between companies. About 80% of e- commerce is of this type. Example: • Intel selling micro processor to dell • Heinz selling Ketchup to MC Donald's.
  • 7. B2C COMMERCE Business- to- Consumer e- commerce, or commerce between companies and consumers, involves customers gathering information; purchasing physical goods or receiving products over an electronic network. Example: • Dell selling me a laptop.
  • 9. B2G COMMERCE Business- to- Government e- commerce is generally defined as commerce between companies and the public sector. It refers to the use of the internet for public procurement, licensing procedures, and government related operations. Example: • Business pay taxes, file reports, or sell goods and services to government agencies.
  • 10. B2G COMMERCE BUSINESS ORGANISATION WEBSITE GOVERNMENT The B2G category covers contracts of all sorts – for goods, services and information – between businesses of all sizes and government at all levels (state, local and federal).
  • 11. C2C COMMERCE Consumer- to- Consumer e- commerce is simply between private commerce between private individuals or consumers. Example: • Marry buying an iPod from Tom on eBay.

G2C COMMERCE  This Model is also a part of e- governance.  The objective of this model is to provide goods and effective services to each citizen.  The Government provides the following facilities to the citizens through website.  Information of all government departments,  Different welfare schemes,  Different application forms to be used by the citizens.
  • 14. G2C COMMERCE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE CITIZEN A government can enforce laws pertaining to tax payments on individual consumers over the internet by using the G2C model.
  • 15. G2B COMMERCE Government- to- Business is a business model that refers to government providing services or information to business organization. Government uses B2G model website to approach business organizations. Such websites support auctions, tenders and application submission functionalities.
  • 16. G2B COMMERCE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE BUSINESS ORGANISATION The govt. plans to build a flyover. For this the govt. request for tenders from various contractors. Govt. can do this over the internet by using the G2B model.

ADVANTAGES OF E- COMMERCE  Faster buying/ selling procedure, as well as easy to find products.  Buying/ selling 24*7.  More reach to customers, there is no theoretical geographic limitations.  Low operational costs and better quality of services.  No need of physical company sets- ups.  Easy to start and manage a business.  Customers can easily select products from different providers without moving around physically.
  • 18. DISADVANTAGES OF E- COMMERCE  Unable to examine products personally  Not everyone is connected to the internet  There is the possibility of credit card number theft  Mechanical failures can cause unpredictable effects on the total processes.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT AND IT’S PRIME OBJECTIVE It is a total system approach to managing the entire flow of information, materials and services from raw material supplies through factories and warehouses to the end customers. PRIME OBJECTIVE: • Prompt and reliable delivery of high quality products and services at the cost. •To effectively meet rising customer expectations. • Give company a competitive edge. • Expand business operations.
