Breeds are classified in terms of
their utility like meat type, egg
type and ornamental type
PEKIN
 White Pekin is popular
 Originated from China
 Bill and legs are deep
orange.
 Lays about 160 eggs.
 Called as Emperor ducks
 Having efficient feed

AYLESBURY
 Bill is yellow and legs are
deep orange.
 The name comes from
Aylesbury, UK where large
scale breeding programme
was carried out.
 High percentage of creamy
white flesh
MUSCOVY
 White winged back
duck is popular.
 Native is south
America.
 Male has knob on the
head.
 Male is twice the size of
female
 7 varieties.
 Communication among
them is by hissing
ROUEN
 French origin.
 Good for roasting
 Eggs are sometimes
blue.
CAYUGA
 Lay characteristic eggs.
 Initially eggs are black,
then becomes blue.
KHAKI CAMBELL
 Cross of Indian runner,
Mallard and Rouen
 In male head, neck,wing are
lustrous green colour.
