WHAT ARE BRAND GUIDELINES?
This is a key in making sure people are able to identify an artist or
band. Brand Guidelines are essentially a set of rules that explain how
your brand works. These guidelines typically include basic
information such as: An overview of your brand's history, vision,
personality and key values. Having a common theme is also crucial in
making sure that your brand is consistent and noticeable. It should fit
in with the image that you want to portray to a certain audience but
also have something unique which makes it eye catching.
LOGO
This connects an audience to an artist on a visual level. I went for a basic
block font which was not conjoined to represent my artist. Although my
artist is male, I didn’t want to conform to a certain style of font which would
attract a gender. This is why I kept it simple so that all genders can be
aesthetically pleased by the artists logo. Due to my artist reflecting the pop
genre, I wanted to have the boldness of the block letters but also
incorporating the calming/melodic sound of the song with the tone of the
font.
The background for the logo reflects the dark undertone of the song and
also the picture that I chose for my Digipak, however this is contrasted with
the bright colour of the actual text which highlights the positivity that the
artist is trying to convey.

COLOURS
Colour to me can really set the tone for who an artist is or what genre
of music they are trying to convey. My artist fits in with the pop genre
however the song I have chosen for my video doesn’t fit in with the
typical bright conventions that pop genre hold. For the most part of
my artist image i.e. clothing of actors in the video, logo and adverts I
have chosen very tones rather than colours because I feel that fitted a
lot more than big bold colours. By also using that throughout, it gives
the audience consistency and a sense of a key theme.
