Golden Retrievers Pros And Cons
The Golden Retriever is a popular breed of dog that was used as a retrieving dog while hunting wild
fowl in the past. It is one of the most common dogs for families now as it is very tolerant, easy to
handle and doesn t require much from the owners besides exercise, food and visits to the vet. Though
known to get along well with other dogs and people, they sometimes get human traits and then are not
very fond of other dogs. Due to its friendly nature, Golden Retrievers are not good watchdogs.
However, they are liked for their fondness of people.
Golden Retrievers are athletic dogs that are well balanced. They are a large breed, but are slightly
longer than they are tall. Golden Retrievers have an outgoing temperament with a very luxurious ...

They continued to breed as they were the idea of the best hunting dog. The idea was to create a dog
that was not only powerful but gentle and affectionate towards people.
Unfortunately since they are often profitable dogs, many corrupt breeders don t take care of them and
they are prone to quite a few diseases. Hip dysplasia is a common problem in the breed, along with
von Willebrand s disease and cataracts. Potential owners should check to make sure that the parents of
the dog had healthy hips as well.
Since purebred Golden Retrievers are in high demand, many are sadly abandoned by owners who no
longer care for them. The dogs end up in animal shelters, but fortunately there are many organizations
which try to rescue and adopt these abandoned Golden Retrievers. They are often placed in foster
homes until a permanent home for them is found.
There are also quite a few famous Golden Retrievers, such as Comet from Full House, the star of the
movie Air Bud, Liberty, President Ford s pet and Speedy from The Drew Carey Show. Golden
Retrievers are popular because of their caring attitude towards people and the wonderful
companionship that they can bring to a

Presentation Of A Super Bowl Viewing Party
Introduction:
This fall our class collaborated with Big Brother Big Sister of the Ocean State. Their issue that they
brought to Bryant is that they were in desperate need of more male Bigs to satisfy the huge number of
boy Littles without a Big.
The Experience:
By no means did this project move smoothly from start to finish. During my brief time, here at Bryant
University I have worked and lead in various group projects, this group was by far the most efficient
and well rounded group I have been apart of. However, we did not even come close to our potential.

After about twenty minutes of comparing schedules, we finally found a time, in which we could set
our weekly meeting (Wednesdays at 7:00 P.M.). On several occasions when we had to meet outside
this time, we would have to miss a team member during the meeting due to the major scheduling issue
we faced all semester. As a team, we faced another issue; one group member seems to be negligent to
the team and fails to complete quality/timely work as well as a non active group member during
meetings. Being the group leader, I feel personally responsible for the lack of motivation this group
member has so in order to try to resurrect their motivation I attempted to talk individually with the
person and send individual reminders numerous times before deadlines and lend a helping hand if
needed. Unfortunately, my attempts can be considered a failure due to the regression in this person s
work as well as mental/physical attendance during meeting hours. Going off my group leader blunders
also throughout the Service Learning Project I failed to implement the Dashboard and Gantt Chart into
my team s daily life. Without these management maintenance and planning tools our team seemed to
be semi chaotic and unorganized at times, which lead to minor quality of work issues ultimately taking
away from our outcomes as a team.
Throughout the Service Learning Project, my team had one reoccurring issue with our sponsoring
organization, lack of communication. In an attempt to broaden

Gregory Crewdson s work is very inspiring he manages to complete an entire story an entire character

To contemplate what is going on in this photograph I think it is left up to the viewer to find for
themselves what the meaning is behind the photograph does this make crewdson s work not as deep
because there is no hidden message or meaning in his work I don t believe it should be just on those
criteria what took me to this image in the first place was the mystery where the narrative to this image
is open to interpretation were the photograph is not showing what has happened before or after it is

anything at all the image hovers around reality and fiction and the image remains open ended.
Gregory Crewdson works in two distinct ways to create his photographs. On one hand, he works on

Comparison Between Surface And Ipad Ads Essay
Flat Out Computing
A Comparison between Surface and iPad Ads
Edison vs. Tesla. Colt vs. Wesson. Sarnoff v.s Farnsworth. Throughout modern history, rivalry and the
race for dominance have plagued the ever accelerating world of technology. In the early 1900s bicycle
shop owners Orville and Wilber Wright battled with Glenn Curtiss, a motorcycle engineer, in
pioneering powered flight. Later, in the middle of the same century, the United States and the Soviet
Union stood nose to nose as they wrestled to prove each other s superiority in outer space exploration.
This century brings a new challenge for technology makers to fight about: Information, and
particularly, the way in which consumers consume it. Computer giants, Microsoft and Apple have
been at each other s throats since the 1980s, and to this day the two companies still can t get along like
mature adults, but they continue to compete by inventing better and faster ways for people around the
world to work, learn and play. As we will see, their competitive advertising says volumes about the
personalities of the companies and the audiences for which they strive, and we ll excavate this by
comparing two very different ads for two very similar products, the Microsoft Surface Tablet and the
Apple iPad. When it comes down to pure, objective logic, I found the dry security of the Microsoft ad
most effective as a sales piece, compared to the vague and emotional iPad spot, because it has the
most complete and abundant product

Baby Suggs Dichotomy
While the lash marks from whippings remain on their skins, the former slaves within Toni Morrison s
Beloved are scarred most by their mental trauma. While connecting to the community is used as part
of the healing process, Morrison abolishes the concept that all communities are healing. Specifically,
communities in which the relations of power are equal and members treated as ends in themselves are
critical in overcoming adversity, while an imbalance of power, as well as seclusion, can incite the
trauma from the beginning.
The dichotomy between collective support and an individual in isolation is evaporated as Paul D,

Baby Suggs affirms her own identity. Requiring no identity from her masters, parents, or even lover,
Baby Suggs is the most self actualized of all characters; while still needing her son s help to legally be

Web architecture:
1 A diagram explaining how the internet works and description of the world wide web
The World Wide Web is a system of internet servers that contain documents formatted in HTML. This
supports links to other documents and also supports graphics, audio and video.
2 Internet Service Providers (ISP);
An internet service provider (ISP) is a service that provides access to the internet. They provide the
user with services such as broadband and phone services. For a monthly price the user is provided
with a router which they can then connect to either with a wired or wireless connection. An internet
connection enables the user to connect many devices to the internet at the same time. The router and
phone are normally plugged in to the same socket which then connects the router to the internet.
Internet service providers may also provide the user with an e mail address as a part of the service.
Different providers offer different packages for different prices, for example some may have a capped
usage which may be better for people who do not use the internet as much and would be able to save
money by purchasing this. Different companies compete to gain more customers and will claim to
have a higher upload and download rate than other companies. Also, usually a package with a higher
upload and download speed will be more expensive.

of adults are taken advantage of it. It is very convient for that working adult with spouse and kids or
the adult going back to school. However some adults are not as savvy with the Internet or computer.
Both items are essential in order to become a distance learning student. Therefore I have created a

How and where to find academic resources online
Usually where to look is sometimes just as important as how to look for information on the web. If
you find a good search engine once it does not mean it will always be the best engine to use.
Sometimes you need to check many different types of search engines. Like everything on the World
Wide Web search engines come in many different shapes, sizes and styles. Some are real, poorly
developed and some just want to find a way to throw spam at you and hope that you spend money on
their, ever so useless product. Let us start with real search engines and the different types, such as
directories, library directories, library catalogs, spider search engines, super searchers, and alternatives
to search engines.
Directories are topical lists of resources. These are usually compiled information on various topics,
usually by a set of individuals who manage the site. Depending on the management s standards, the
quality of these as in any engine can vary (Ackermann, 2005). A definite positive to using a directory
is that they usually carry less resources of higher quality, thus lessening the haystack, in order to find
the proverbial needle. Search engines, are directories, but most often; these are very large if they are
run with a program considered a spider or robot. Spider or robot programs gather document links and
load them into their databases, using them for your

San Elizario is a beautiful small town, with a loving and united community. It has a historical
background in which it makes it even more special. We see many tourists hang at the Placita where the
chapel is located but I am sure the tourists are aware of the surroundings, like the houses, and the
streets, they are not pleasurable to watch. There is countless of trash around the streets, also including
the houses front yards. I come to propose if we put more trash cans all around town, there would be
less littering. To increase sanitation, we can set up community walks at least once a month, to clean

Designing A Mousetrap Powered Device
The purpose of this project is to design and construct a mousetrap powered device that could move a
hacky sack along a rectangular track 2 meters wide x 15 meter long. The device must not be powered
by any outside source. It must be a product of creative and innovative solution with the application of
the fundamentals of engineering. The device must also incorporate the five solution criteria; novel
solution (device must be surprising), effective solution (hacky sack should travel at least 15 meters),
elegant solution (device should be simple and understandable), germinal solution (opens up new
ideas) and lastly the creativity of the device. This project also aims to help develop the capabilities of
each student as a team member in a group work activity.
2 Creativity in Design
The team started the process by doing individual research and drawing a design plan for the most ideal
device to build. We started brainstorming and suggested several ideas of devices, such as, a three
wheel and a four wheel car, a catapult device and a flying mousetrap device. Afterwards we have
come up with several factors to consider in choosing which device to build. These are as follows;
It is simple and easy to build
Must have enough force to carry the hacky sack for more than 15 meters
The materials needed are cheap and easy to find
The device must be aesthetically pleasing but must remain to provide sufficient functionality
Most of all, must incorporate the five solution criteria

Arguments Against The Lobbyists
Lobbyists are a group of people who defend and advance their interests through lobbying which is to
inform, persuade, and pressure policymakers to support the groups objective. With more policies set in
place, the more lobbyists get involved and a great example is the financial crisis since the Great
Depression of the 1930 s. When the Obama administration stepped in and proposed to repair the
regulation and increase oversight, the lobbyists were there to support and represent banks, mutual
funds, credit card companies as well as companies in retail, manufacturing, and service that this
proposal could affect.

Frances starts to smoke, drink, and perform very cheap shows at the age of sixteen. She is prostituting
herself to older men, and it is horrible because of the manner she is performing her acts: Frances will

communion glove to perform vile acts is atrocious, because when that glove is used for a religious

representing the Devil because of her actions. Laura Robinson states that instead of labouring quietly
for little pay, doing charitable work, and having reverence for patriarchs, Frances performs loudly,
prostitutes herself, and demonstrates no respect for her father (Robinson 37). However, she also goes
on to say that France works to provide the funds for Lily s escape from home and the dangers of the

away when the time comes. At heart,

Healthcare Payers In Competitive Markets
Hospitals generally compete with each other. In such an atmosphere of fierce competition, managers
must assess the ability of their organizations to influence the prices paid for the services offered.
(Gapenski, 2008, p.194). And because most services provided in such marketplace are similar in
nature, the economic theory suggest that prices will be set forth by local supply and demand
conditions. Thus, the actions of a single participant, whether the participant is a provider or a payer,
cannot influence the prices set in the marketplace. (Gapenski, 2008, p.194). In such a competitive
market, the prices of services are constrained and as such, providers are said to be price takers.
Moreover, some healthcare payers

me that they are also taught to catch students exhibiting the appropriate behavior and to praise the

supposed to be doing.
When asked Ms. Peck about the forms and locations in which the expectations are posted on the

that helps the students inforce what the expectations are. She stated that in the hallways you can find
signs that encourage students to be positive and productive with one another. Also in her class she has

they all had to sign it in the beginning of the year. When students do not follow the contract she tends
to remind them they are breaking a rule from the class. I honestly think that schools should have signs
around the school that reminds the students on what is expected from them. This helps the students
stay on track. Also it is very important for the teacher to have expectations for the class visible for the
students to see. By having it visible students

What Is The Mood Of The Flounder
The story begins with a Fisherman that does fishing for a living. He suddenly caught a Flounder with a

into the water. Afterwards he informed his wife of the situation; however, his wife was displeased as
she advises him that the fish has the ability to grant wishes and sent her husband back to wish for a
better place to live. The water as well as the surroundings changes each time the desirous wife forces

water. The flounder implored the fisher to release him implying that he does not taste good. Feeling
sympathy, the fisherman released him; however, when once he returned to the fisher spot suggested by
his wife, the water changed to two different colors: yellow and green. The fisherman summoned the
flounder caught earlier with the following chant: Mandje! Mandje! Timpe Te! Flounder, flounder, in
the sea! My wife, my wife Ilsebill, Wants not, wants not, what I will. For each wish, the water changes
to different colors and conditions: Purple dark blue as well as gray and dense, dark grey and becoming
violent with a foul smell, black and dense with a strong wind, red sky with little blue in the middle
including roaring water occupied by tossing ships with distress signals and lightning, and a pitch black
sky with dark waves as hell as a mounting. In the second translation, the fisher uses a different chant
to summon a large flounder: Flounder, flounder in the sea, Come, I pray thee, here to me. For my wife,
good ilsabil, Wills not as I d have her will. The difference from the previous version is that the water
produces bubbles as it roars when the fisherman came back to the flounder wishing for the wife to be
an emperor and ships were shooting guns as well as leaves falling during the fisherman s trip to the
water to wish the wife to be a pope. In the video adaptation version of the story, the fisherman made a
chant that differs from the previous versions: Flounder, flounder in the sea, come I pray thee here to
me, for my good wife, Penelope, wishes what she should not be. In this adaptation, the flounder has

I Am A Great Or Horrible Thing
Flooding, depending on how one deals with it, can be a great or awful thing. The day after Houston s
historic flood started with gloomy gray skies, horrendous humidity, and me sitting on the couch
staring blankly at the T.V. The ecstatic voices of each advertisement after advertisement filled my ears.
This was supposed to be a day of excitement and fun but it seemed as if the rain had destroyed those

tired of sitting down half the day, I called them up to see if they had any idea of what we could do to

Acute Failure And Chronic Failure
CHF occurs when the heart is no longer able to adequately pump blood causing a decrease in nutrients
and oxygen to the body. The term CHF has widely been replaced by the terms acute failure and
chronic failure because not all types of heart failure are accompanied by pulmonary congestion.
However, in this pt s case, she suffered from severe edema and fluid build up in the lungs due to the
failure. CHF is generally precipitated by other cardiac related conditions including, HTN, CAD, and
past MIs, all of which are present in this pt s history (Lewis, Heitkemper, Dirksen, Bucher, Camera,

This transfer of ions is what generates the electrical impulse of the heart and causes the heart to act as
a single unit instead of individual cells (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). Cardiac conduction occurs because
there are gap junctions for ions to pass through and because of the heart s intrinsic conduction system,
which is composed of non contractile cardiac cells that are specifically designed to start and distribute
electric impulses through the cardiac cells so that depolarization and contractions are orderly and
sequential. The contractile cells sustain stable membrane resting potential when they are unstimulated,
however, the resting potential of the autorhythmic cells, that create the intrinsic conduction system, is
unstable and is constantly depolarizing, which is called pacemaker potentials and initiate the action
potential that causes the heart to contract (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). The pace maker potential occurs
because of the ion channels which causes hyperpolarization at the end of the action potentials. This
hyperpolarization causes the K+ channels to close while simultaneously opening the Na+ channels,
which allows an imbalance of K+ and Na+ to occur making the cardiac cells to become more positive.
When the pacemaker potential is reached at around

Legalization of Marijuana on the economy
If one were told that the United States had all of the answers to their economic issues growing within
their country wouldn t people take advantage of it? Even if the solution was currently considered as an
illegal substance. George Shaw stated, If history repeats itself, and the unexpected always happens,
how incapable must Man be of learning from experience. Mr. Shaw s wisdom particularly applies to
the current debate on the legalization of cannabis, and if it should be legal state or nationwide. The
present day prohibition on marijuana is not any different than the past prohibition on alcohol in the
roaring 20 s. The legalization of marijuana, similar to alcohol not only means more money for the
government, but also more revenue, jobs, and savings. The debate can be tough to follow with all of
the political jargon. Americans must keep in mind that is substantial to find a solution to the lingering
question, should marijuana be legalized? It is vital for the United States to end the expensive and
uneconomical prohibition. Besides the infinite reasons for legalization such as ending panic over
drugs, lowering crime rate and ending drug related pollution there is one clear motive for legalization,
the money. The Huffington Post reported The government would save an estimated $13.7 billion on
prohibition enforcement costs and tax revenue by legalizing marijuana. How is it

China s Reform And Opening Up
As the three FIE Laws were introduced at the start of China s reform and opening up, they serve as
fundamental laws for foreign investment issues in China for almost 40 years. However, because of the
rapid and deeper development of China s economy in recent years, these laws face a number of issues.
1.1. Conflicts with the Company Law Under current relevant laws and regulation, foreign investors
have several options to set up their businesses in China. They can establish corporations in the form of
EJVs, CJVs or WFOEs under the EJV law, CJV law or WFOE law respectively. In addition, they can
set up limited liability companies ( LLC ) under the Company Law as well. Generally, Company Law

These supervisors should be appointed or elected by shareholders and employees. As the FIE laws do
not mention this matter, limited liability FIEs like EJVs should also comply with Article 52. However,
under the FIE laws, shareholders meeting is not regarded as an authoritative body and therefore there
is no provision or framework for FIEs to deal with the shareholders voting procedures. Although the
board of directors, which is the highest authority under the FIE laws, can appoint supervisors, the
appointment would be inappropriate and doubtable because supervisors responsibility is to supervise
those directors . 1.2. Excessive regulation of foreign invested enterprises According to the current FIE
laws, a case by case approval system is applied to all FIEs. Obtaining of positive approvals for
investment projects from National Development and Reform Commission ( NDRC ) is the first step;
Afterwards, approval for establishment should be acquired from MOFCOM; In order to operate the
firm, a business license, which is granted by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce (
SAIC ), is required . Approvals are also required on every significant issues such as the transfer of
controlled capital or shares, merger and acquisition, liquidation and so on. In the case Qingyue Gao v

Australian Defence Policy Essay
The discourse surrounding an appropriate defence policy in Australia has been an intense debate,
extending back to the beginning of the 20th century. Stemming from the Creswell Foster divide has
emerged two sides, the state centric, geostrategic concept of the Defence of Australia and the alliance
centric concept of the Security Based Defence . As well as these policy approaches is the state
coercive notion of puritive deterrence .
The following paper aims to compare and contrast the main arguments regarding Austalian defence
policy, through the relevance of geo strategic location and gobalisation. It will appraise the three
aforementioned options of defence policy, as presented by Paul Dibbs, Michael Evans, and Ross
Babbage and will then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They state that transnational issues...are not always military problems, but military resources may
prove useful to monitoring, controlling or recovering from them. They later go on to say that the
armed forces may be required to coordinate their operations with humanitarian relief organisations , as
non state actors influence their warfighting.
Peter Dean and Ken Gleiman of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), have also noted the
revised role of the ADF in combating these unconventional threats, which has led to amphibious
forces across the globe being deployed to support a range of operations, including assaults, raids,
withdrawals and demonstrations. These forces have been used in counter piracy operations in the Gulf
of Aden and Indian Ocean, and against radical groups such as Al Shabaab in Somalia.
It is thus evident that globalisation has had a great impact on defence policy, due to the emergence and
increased danger of non state actors, highlighting a need to revise policy formulation in order to
combat the threats they pose.
Conclusion
By assessing the relevance that geostrategic location and globalisation have on Australian defence
policy, this paper has been able to compare the stances of Paul Dibbs, Michael Evans and Ross

Latinx Feminist Theory
The term feminism encapsulates a vast variety of topics important to women s rights. Unfortunately,
feminist theory is often talked about within the restrictions of a reproductive binary. Latinx feminist
theory is more than just a reproduction binary. As women of color, Latinx women have historically
been undermined and excluded from social narratives. Latinx women however, challenge various
forms of oppression, such as the perpetuations of sexism, racism, and violence, by sharing their

Khepera Mobile Robots For Search And Rescue Operation
Khepera Mobile Robots for Search and Rescue Operation
Keywords: Mobile Robot, Explore Unknown Map with Obstacles, Gas Detection, V rep, Khepera III,
Albers Algorithm.
Abstract: Nowadays, using robots instead of humans in risk operations is an interesting point in the
field of robotics. In this paper we introduce an integrated approach for search and rescue operation of
detecting gas sources in large areas; e.g. houses, factories, and labs. This aims at saving people s lives
at bottlenecks resulting from gas leak and ignition of fires. Experiment is performed using master
Khepera robot supplied with gas sensor circuit to search map, in addition to two slave Khepera
supplied with gripper to take the best path to clinch the victim.
Moreover, this paper proposes an improvement of Albers exploration algorithm to reduce the time
required to explore unknown map with different polygon obstacles. The proposed approach aims to
minimizing the overall exploration time, making it possible to localize fire sources in an efficient way,
as demonstrated in
Vrep simulation as well as real world experiments with Khepera III robot. A comparison among
different algorithms has showed the effectiveness of the proposed one where the percentage of
performance speedup is about 30% to 57% depending on size of the map and number of obstacles.

Smallpox And The Epidemic Of Smallpox
During the 19th and 20th centuries, a now eradicated disease called smallpox killed an estimated 300
500 million people. This life threatening disease is marked by a rash of blisters filled with a thick,
opaque fluid that cover the face, arms and legs (see Figure 1). Many of those who managed to survive
smallpox were left with permanent complications such as scars, blindness, and in some instances, limb
deformities. Occurrences of smallpox are believed to go as far back as 10,000 BC. One of the earliest
examples of the disease is the pustular rash found on the mummified body of Pharaoh Ramses V of
Egypt who died in 1157 BC.
For a millennia, generations watched helplessly as their children fell prey to the devastating disease.
But after rigorous vaccination campaigns in the 1960 s, the World Health Organization had confirmed
the eradication of smallpox in 1979 with the last naturally occurring case being reported in 1977. In
order to ensure another epidemic on the same scale smallpox doesn t plague the human population,
vaccinations against infectious diseases such as polio, diphtheria and rubella should be enforced
without exclusions.
The key to combating these virulent diseases is to create an immunization in the general public
through the use of vaccines. In an effort to build a person s immunity towards a particular disease,
vaccines that contain weakened or dead microbes are administered using a hypodermic syringe. By
imitating the substances that cause the

Reflection Paper On Restless Leg Syndrome
Chronic Disease Analytical Reflection Paper Introduction to Restless Leg Syndrome Willis Ekbom
Disease, commonly referred to as restless leg syndrome is a disorder of the nervous sensory system
that causes an uncomfortable urge to move the legs as defined by Sales, Sanghera, Klocko, and
Malcom (2016). These symptoms are majorly observed in the evening or during nighttime when one
assumes a resting position in bed. Consequently, they cause difficulties in falling asleep. The
interference in sleep makes resting leg syndrome be classified as a sleep disorder. The symptom of
resting leg syndrome may also appear when one is undertaking a long rest during the day, travelling or

Aesthetic Aspect People with a sedentary lifestyle, mostly the citizens of highly developed countries,
are known to take part in activities with less energy requirement and eat fat food. Thus, there rises a
need to encourage citizens to do daily exercises to reduce chances of developing sedentary disorders.
Socio political Aspect Alcohol and drug abuse are known to aggravate the symptoms of multifactorial
diseases. Washington and Zweber (2008) state that alcohol is known to interfere with the
pharmacokinetics, as well as the pharmacodynamics of numerous drugs, including those used in the
treatment of diabetes. Reduced effectiveness of the drugs may aggravate the conditions. Finally,
alcohol is known to penetrate the blood brain barrier and thus, have an effect on the central nervous
system. The governments thus need to tighten laws that discourage citizens against drug usage.
Personal Aspect With reduced quality of sleep caused by restless leg syndrome, ethical problems
appear, such as lack of concentration at work place, as well as drowsiness during a social gathering.
As a result, they may lead to reduced self esteem of an individual suffering from restless leg
syndrome. Ethical Aspect Similarly, hyperactivity brought about by restless leg syndrome may
compromise relationship between the patient and his close associates including his workmates or

Golden Retrievers ProsAnd Cons The Golden Retriever is a popular breed of dog that was used as a retrieving dog while hunting wild fowl in the past. It is one of the most common dogs for families now as it is very tolerant, easy to handle and doesn t require much from the owners besides exercise, food and visits to the vet. Though known to get along well with other dogs and people, they sometimes get human traits and then are not very fond of other dogs. Due to its friendly nature, Golden Retrievers are not good watchdogs. However, they are liked for their fondness of people. Golden Retrievers are athletic dogs that are well balanced. Comparison Between SurfaceAnd Ipad Ads Essay Flat Out Computing A Comparison between Surface and iPad Ads Edison vs. Tesla. Colt vs. Wesson. Sarnoff v.s Farnsworth. Throughout modern history, rivalry and the race for dominance have plagued the ever accelerating world of technology. In the early 1900s bicycle shop owners Orville and Wilber Wright battled with Glenn Curtiss, a motorcycle engineer, in pioneering powered flight. Later, in the middle of the same century, the United States and the Soviet Union stood nose to nose as they wrestled to prove each other s superiority in outer space exploration. This century brings a new challenge for technology makers to fight about: Information, and particularly, the way in which consumers consume it. Computer giants, Microsoft and Apple have been at each other s throats since the 1980s, and to this day the two companies still can t get along like mature adults, but they continue to compete by inventing better and faster ways for people around the world to work, learn and play. As we will see, their competitive advertising says volumes about the personalities of the companies and the audiences for which they strive, and we ll excavate this by comparing two very different ads for two very similar products, the Microsoft Surface Tablet and the Apple iPad. For a monthly price the user is provided with a router which they can then connect to either with a wired or wireless connection. An internet connection enables the user to connect many devices to the internet at the same time. The router and phone are normally plugged in to the same socket which then connects the router to the internet. Internet service providers may also provide the user with an e mail address as a part of the service. Different providers offer different packages for different prices, for example some may have a capped usage which may be better for people who do not use the internet as much and would be able to save money by purchasing this. Different companies compete to gain more customers and will claim to have a higher upload and download rate than other companies. Also, usually a package with a higher upload and download speed will be more expensive. 3 Web hosting services; A web hosting service allows individuals and companies to make their website ... Surviving Technology Essay SurvivingTechnology Computers, Internet, electronics are all apart of technology. Businesses are being buffeted by an increasingly rapid rate of change. There are new products, new regulations new customers and new technology in almost every industry. Part of that new technology is distance learning. More and more of adults are taken advantage of it. It is very convient for that working adult with spouse and kids or the adult going back to school. However some adults are not as savvy with the Internet or computer. Both items are essential in order to become a distance learning student. Therefore I have created a student survival guide that would be useful for a new online student. How and where to find academic resources online Usually where to look is sometimes just as important as how to look for information on the web. If you find a good search engine once it does not mean it will always be the best engine to use. Sometimes you need to check many different types of search engines. Like everything on the World Wide Web search engines come in many different shapes, sizes and styles. Some are real, poorly developed and some just want to find a way to throw spam at you and hope that you spend money on their, ever so useless product. Let us start with real search engines and the different types, such as directories, library directories, library catalogs, spider search engines, super searchers, and alternatives to search engines. Directories are topical lists of resources. These are usually compiled information on various topics, usually by a set of individuals who manage the site. Depending on the management s standards, the quality of these as in any engine can vary (Ackermann, 2005). A definite positive to using a directory is that they usually carry less resources of higher quality, thus lessening the haystack, in order to find the proverbial needle. Search engines, are directories, but most often; these are very large if they are run with a program considered a spider or robot. Spider or robot programs gather document links and load them into their databases, using them for your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

San Elizario San Elizariois a beautiful small town, with a loving and united community. It has a historical background in which it makes it even more special. We see many tourists hang at the Placita where the chapel is located but I am sure the tourists are aware of the surroundings, like the houses, and the streets, they are not pleasurable to watch. There is countless of trash around the streets, also including the houses front yards. I come to propose if we put more trash cans all around town, there would be less littering. To increase sanitation, we can set up community walks at least once a month, to clean our yards and the streets around the area we live in. As a result, the entire community will benefit by this cleanup project. For this to happen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Encourage your children to throw trash in the trash can and not on the floor, but set the example first. Designing A MousetrapPowered Device The purpose of this project is to design and construct a mousetrap powered device that could move a hacky sack along a rectangular track 2 meters wide x 15 meter long. The device must not be powered by any outside source. It must be a product of creative and innovative solution with the application of the fundamentals of engineering. The device must also incorporate the five solution criteria; novel solution (device must be surprising), effective solution (hacky sack should travel at least 15 meters), elegant solution (device should be simple and understandable), germinal solution (opens up new ideas) and lastly the creativity of the device. This project also aims to help develop the capabilities of each student as a team member in a group work activity. 2 Creativity in Design The team started the process by doing individual research and drawing a design plan for the most ideal device to build. We started brainstorming and suggested several ideas of devices, such as, a three wheel and a four wheel car, a catapult device and a flying mousetrap device. Afterwards we have come up with several factors to consider in choosing which device to build. These are as follows; It is simple and easy to build Must have enough force to carry the hacky sack for more than 15 meters The materials needed are cheap and easy to find The device must be aesthetically pleasing but must remain to provide sufficient functionality Most of all, must incorporate the five solution criteria ... Arguments Against TheLobbyists Lobbyists are a group of people who defend and advance their interests through lobbying which is to inform, persuade, and pressure policymakers to support the groups objective. With more policies set in place, the more lobbyists get involved and a great example is the financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930 s. When the Obama administration stepped in and proposed to repair the regulation and increase oversight, the lobbyists were there to support and represent banks, mutual funds, credit card companies as well as companies in retail, manufacturing, and service that this proposal could affect. Fall on YourKnees Essay examples Faizan Sadiq Frances Piper: The Devil s Advocate? In Fall On Your Knees, Ann Marie MacDonald presents a vivid and life like character in Frances Piper. Frances Piper is one of the four Piper girls, and she is different from the rest of them. From her early childhood, Frances is a bold and naughty girl who is always getting herself into trouble. She has a great mischievous streak which troubles her father, James Piper, immensely. James Piper himself has a demon like personality at various times throughout the novel, some of which he collects from his father in his early childhood. A hand job costs two fifty she has a special glove she wears, left over from her first communion. (293) Using a communion glove to perform vile acts is atrocious, because when that glove is used for a religious service, not a vile act. This is an instance where the reader can start to imagine that Frances may be representing the Devil because of her actions. Laura Robinson states that instead of labouring quietly for little pay, doing charitable work, and having reverence for patriarchs, Frances performs loudly, prostitutes herself, and demonstrates no respect for her father (Robinson 37). However, she also goes on to say that France works to provide the funds for Lily s escape from home and the dangers of the family (Robinson 37). MacDonald also mentions in the novel that Frances wants to start saving her money for Lily, and is putting her money away in a secret place (293). She realizes that what she is doing is for a good cause: to protect her younger sister Lily and to save enough money to send her away when the time comes. At heart, ... Healthcare Payers InCompetitive Markets Hospitals generally compete with each other. In such an atmosphere of fierce competition, managers must assess the ability of their organizations to influence the prices paid for the services offered. (Gapenski, 2008, p.194). And because most services provided in such marketplace are similar in nature, the economic theory suggest that prices will be set forth by local supply and demand conditions. Thus, the actions of a single participant, whether the participant is a provider or a payer, cannot influence the prices set in the marketplace. (Gapenski, 2008, p.194). Students At HerSchool Teachers Ms. Peck the 3rd grade teacher that I interviewed mentioned to me that at her school the teachers are taught to teach appropriate behavior to their students. They are also supposed to model and practice appropriate behavior to show the students what they expect from the students. Ms. Peck mentioned to me that they are also taught to catch students exhibiting the appropriate behavior and to praise the students upon it. By praising the students on the appropriate behavior it shows students what they are supposed to be doing. When asked Ms. Peck about the forms and locations in which the expectations are posted on the school grounds and in the classroom, she explained to me that they are many signs around the school that helps the students inforce what the expectations are. She stated that in the hallways you can find signs that encourage students to be positive and productive with one another. Also in her class she has a contract on the wall where it informs the students to promise to do their best and show respect and they all had to sign it in the beginning of the year. When students do not follow the contract she tends to remind them they are breaking a rule from the class. I honestly think that schools should have signs around the school that reminds the students on what is expected from them. This helps the students stay on track. For each wish, the water changes to different colors and conditions: Purple dark blue as well as gray and dense, dark grey and becoming violent with a foul smell, black and dense with a strong wind, red sky with little blue in the middle including roaring water occupied by tossing ships with distress signals and lightning, and a pitch black sky with dark waves as hell as a mounting. For my wife, good ilsabil, Wills not as I d have her will. The difference from the previous version is that the water produces bubbles as it roars when the fisherman came back to the flounder wishing for the wife to be an emperor and ships were shooting guns as well as leaves falling during the fisherman s trip to the water to wish the wife to be a pope. In the video adaptation version of the story, the fisherman made a chant that differs from the previous versions: Flounder, flounder in the sea, come I pray thee here to me, for my good wife, Penelope, wishes what she should not be. The day after Houston s historic flood started with gloomy gray skies, horrendous humidity, and me sitting on the couch staring blankly at the T.V. The contractile cells sustain stable membrane resting potential when they are unstimulated, however, the resting potential of the autorhythmic cells, that create the intrinsic conduction system, is unstable and is constantly depolarizing, which is called pacemaker potentials and initiate the action potential that causes the heart to contract (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). Abstract: Nowadays, using robots instead of humans in risk operations is an interesting point in the field of robotics. In this paper we introduce an integrated approach for search and rescue operation of detecting gas sources in large areas; e.g. houses, factories, and labs. This aims at saving people s lives at bottlenecks resulting from gas leak and ignition of fires. Experiment is performed using master Khepera robot supplied with gas sensor circuit to search map, in addition to two slave Khepera supplied with gripper to take the best path to clinch the victim. Moreover, this paper proposes an improvement of Albers exploration algorithm to reduce the time required to explore unknown map with different polygon obstacles. The proposed approach aims to minimizing the overall exploration time, making it possible to localize fire sources in an efficient way, as demonstrated in Vrep simulation as well as real world experiments with Khepera III robot. A comparison among different algorithms has showed the effectiveness of the proposed one where the percentage of performance speedup is about 30% to 57% depending on size of the map and number of obstacles. 1 INTRODUCTION Autonomous Robots are meant to perform searching operations inside buildings, mines and caves , which are considered extremely serious. Smallpox And TheEpidemic Of Smallpox During the 19th and 20th centuries, a now eradicated disease called smallpox killed an estimated 300 500 million people. This life threatening disease is marked by a rash of blisters filled with a thick, opaque fluid that cover the face, arms and legs (see Figure 1). Many of those who managed to survive smallpox were left with permanent complications such as scars, blindness, and in some instances, limb deformities. Occurrences of smallpox are believed to go as far back as 10,000 BC. One of the earliest examples of the disease is the pustular rash found on the mummified body of Pharaoh Ramses V of Egypt who died in 1157 BC. For a millennia, generations watched helplessly as their children fell prey to the devastating disease. But after rigorous vaccination campaigns in the 1960 s, the World Health Organization had confirmed the eradication of smallpox in 1979 with the last naturally occurring case being reported in 1977. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is mainly procedural as well as substantive. It is justified because I have vast knowledge in business and industry field. This will give me a cutting edge advantage in presenting substantive agendas to the committee. I would also focus to confirm that the entire business and industry sector achieves the set goals and decisions. The implementation of government regulations also serves best for various industries, and people should respect the fact that business operations need to follow the rules and regulations that will make them successful. 1 Lastly, I would like to serve Economic Small Business Development Committee. This house committee concerns itself with development and support of the small scale businesses; unemployment compensation and wages and collective bargaining (Texas House of Representatives). This committee deals with both substantive and procedural laws. As a member of the Economic Small Business Development Committee, I will focus on presenting pertinent concerns of the small scale traders, who face a lot of challenges in growing their businesses. This will benefit my district, bearing in mind that it has the highest number of Small and Medium Size Enterprises in the State. I have a deep passion for entrepreneurship, which makes me the ideal member of this committee as I have knowledge on the challenges facing small scale entrepreneurs. Apart from being a member in these committees, I look forward to be a youth ambassador for substance and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
