broadened my horizons. Being exposed to so many different cultures around the US has made

Oscar Wilde writes about how Dorian Gray visits opium dens. The opium dens almost take Dorian
Gray out of reality and into the dream world.
On page 177 Oscar Wilde writes an amazing line that is very gothic ...the streets like the black
web of some sprawling spider. The monotony became unbearable, and as the mist thickened, he
felt afraid. This is just like how The Fall of the House of Usher describes the house that the
Usher family live in you can find this in the first two paragraphs of the story. When we first meet

The Hollow Men describe their whispers as quiet and meaningless / As wind in dry grass (7 8);
this is also partially true about the entire monologue. This poem is often associated with Eliot s
most famous poem, The Waste Land, because both works are set in Hellish environments and
concern people whose lives are fragmented and incoherent, written around the same period in
Eliot s life. Compared to The Waste Land, this poem reads much quieter and drier. In The
Hollow Men, the short length of the words and phrases from the Men creates frequent pauses, as
if each line were an ghostly gust of wind, changing directions to later return to the same place.
The poem would be considered free verse because no meter, rhythm, or rhyme scheme is
apparent. Eliot does not use a strict meter such as iambic penta or tetrameter, which he uses in
many of his other poems. The Hollow Men is similar to a dramatic monologue by the collective
group of Hollow Men, but the verses are not consistent like a traditional monologue. The five
sections in the poem also vary in total length and stanza length. The lines throughout all five
sections are short, causing the speech to be staccato, as if the Men run out of breath before getting a
complete thought out.
The Men never raise their voices, even when describing serious matters such as eternal suffering.

Explanation: Peter Singer s argument about global poverty can be broken down into three
distinct steps. The first is easily accepted. Nearly everyone can agree that starvation, lack of
shelter and a scarcity of medical care is a bad thing. His next is also frequently acknowledged. If
we are able to donate without sacrificing anything morally significant we morally ought to do so.
However, it s Singer s third ideal where he loses most people, including myself. In his third
premise he states that by donating to aid agencies, we can prevent suffering from lack of food,
shelter and medical care without sacrificing anything morally significant. But that arises the
question. What is considered morally significant? Moral significance varies from one person to
another making it nearly impossible to determine a universal constant everyone can follow. Along
with that, this premise speaks entirely towards a financial donation of giving money to aid
agencies. This again raises speculation and concern as to how much money is morally significant to
give away from one person to another.

for Disease Control and Prevention, Antibiotic resistance occurs when an antibiotic has lost its

antibiotics causes antibiotic resistance and has many effects associated with it. People may be
drug abusers and this can cause resistance in the body. Some people will only take antibiotics
