Elizabeth Bishop s childhood was not the typical mom and dad experience. Her
father died when she was 8 months old and her mother, when she was five, was
checked in at an insane asylum. She stayed in the asylum until she died. Most of

having a religious connection of some sort. As I was reading her poem, Roosters ,
she refers to the roosters in comparison with a religious event, the denial of St. Peter.
Although she had no recorded religious background, I believe the story of Peter s
denial of knowing Jesus. The poem Roosters , is a comparison with her life as well
as is with the last hours leading to Jesus death, regarding St. Peter, his disciple.
How this poem relates to her life is quite simple. As a child she was forced move to
different homes, all within family relations. She had to have the feeling that her
family denied her when things got hard and they acted as if they didn t know her
and shipped her off. This experience made it easy for her to write this poem. The
first stanza of Roosters , At four o clock in the gun metal blue dark we hear the first
crow of the first cock (Bishop1 3) , it is the very moment that Peter denies ever
knowing Jesus. When we look at the context that the Bible talks, Jesus told Peter,
this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times. (Matthew
26: 34) . When looking about any piece of work, you must pay attention to this
words that are being saying. Bishop says we... in the first stanza. Who is this we

How Do Changes in Temperature and pH Levels Affect Enzyme Activity? Lab Report
In biology class, we ve learned that sugars produce energy and to use sugars to gain
energy, an organism needs a proper enzyme should exist to break it down the
chemical bonds of the sugar. Enzymes and proteins are important in organisms
because they are involved in most chemical reactions that take place inside of an
organism. Our example of an important enzyme was catalase, which breaks down
H2O2. H2O2 is a natural by product and toxic. When H2O2 contacts catalase, it
breaks down into water and oxygen. Our group got curious about how changes in
temperature and pH levels affect enzyme activity. Since enzymes are group of
protein and protein can break easily by acid, base, and hot temperature. To
experiment our question, we used catalase solution, 3% H2O2 solution, 0.1 M
HCl solution, 0.1 M NaOH solution, a beaker, an O2 gas sensor, sensor interface
on a Chromebook, pH paper, and safety gloves. Therefore, we conducted
experiments to test how enzyme activity in different conditions. Plus, we predicted
that if temperature increases or enzyme have contacts with acid or base, enzyme
activity will decrease. We held four controlled experiments which are controller,
temperature, HCl Acid, and NaOH Base. We controlled the amount of catalase to 10
mL and H2O2 solution to 4 mL. First we mixed catalase with H2O2 solution and
used O2 sensor to gather

theater as it hoped to prove as a model for other developing countries. It also sought
to break the spell of the resource curse which it is generally known, is that countries

an unnamed boy, has an undying admiration for Mangan s sister. James Joyce

believe that Early Childhood Education heavily impacts the lives of children and their
families. As an educator and a mother of three young children, I have witness first
hand the benefits of Early Childhood Education programs. Over the years, I found
that what happens early, matters for a lifetime. Preschools are not just about learning
the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors. Instead, its about developing critical
thinking, problem solving, social emotional, and motor skills. I think it is essential
for children to discover, communicate, and play. Learning through play and constant
interaction is an appropriate way for children to learn in the beginning stages of
their life. I feel that when play is purposeful, it provides children with opportunities
to be creative, build on skills, and develop their understanding of specific concepts.
Over the course of my studies this semester, I have learned that it takes a high quality
