The Music Of Ludwig Van Beethoven
Throughout the course of history there has never been a more influential, creative and versatile
composer as Ludwig Van Beethoven. If not for his ability to expand the way in which music is
created, played and heard, current music would lack the polyphonic sound that is needed in order to
create texture and depth. Beethoven is believed to be purely a classical composer. However, to the
contrary he can also be considered purely romantic. His compositions consisted of a form that was
never heard before and in turn inspired future artists to copy him. This form was believed to have
created the basis for music during the Romantic Era. Ludwig Van Beethoven s ability to break
compositional boundaries, ultimately created an everlasting sound because the forms and style in
which he wrote in, are still used and applied to music today. Ludwig Van Beethoven was born on
December 16, 1770. He grew up in the city of Bonn, Germany, which was in the Electorate of
Cologne, a principality of the Holy Roman Empire (Bio). Beethoven had two younger brothers named
Caspar and Johann. They however were not as musically inclined as young Ludwig. Their mother,
Maria Magdalena van Beethoven, was a slender gentle woman while his father, was a mediocre court
singer better known for his alcoholism than his musical abilities (Bio). At a young age Beethoven s
father pushed him into becoming a musical prodigy by forcing him into rigorous practice regiments
rather than going to school. Hoping that his son

Defining Moment-Personal Narrative
Off we go! Mama shouted. We (Gracie, Sarah, and me) were on our way to Carowinds, in Charlotte,
North Carolina. It was a very humid morning. I looked around and all I saw were the tall trees of the
Blue Ridge Mountains. When we arrived, I made them ride the biggest roller coaster. It was called the
Fury 325. I bet it was 5 miles long! The line was a long boring wait, but it was worth it. It was as long
as the distance from Clay, to Ivydale. When we were going swiftly down the humongous coaster I
heard Sarah scream and Gracie yell No no no! You ll be fine I screamed in a very high pitched shout.
No, I won t! Exclaimed Gracie. That was the first time I had heard Sarah and Gracie scream.

Superposed Community Essay
Dat Talk
What is a speech community? This may be a question asked by many. A Speech community is a group
of people who share the same norms and expectations regarding the use of language. Everyone
belongs to some type of speech community based on their demographic background, race, or age.
Every day I use words that may only be acceptable and understood by the people included in my
speech community. Depending on the place or scenario my words may slightly be altered to adjust to
the speech community I am entering. When I m with my friends a normal conversation may go, what s
good bro? meaning what is going on or how are you doing? You at the crib bro? a phrase used to know
if one of our friends is at his place of residence. In my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel that slang and language itself has come a long way. There was a day where I asked an elderly
lady at my job if she knew what molly was she explained with a confused face that she didn t. I told
her that molly was the street name for the drug ecstasy. She then told me that when she was my age
they called it ex or the love drug I had never heard of the love drug before. This is an example of how
words used are change based on your age, race, or norm of that time period. I feel that race has a lot to
do with the words people use this day in age; for example an African American may call his house a
crib and a European American may call it his home. In many cases, people would call this speaking in
ebonics. Some words that my speech community use are widely used by others around the same age,
and that is also a factor of the drastic change in word development. When a member of my group
hears an elder use slang younger people use it s amusing I feel like the older generation is stepping out
of their norm when it comes to staying up to date with the new slang. There are a few older people
who catch on to the lingo my group and I use, and try to incorporate it into their lives to feel young
,and keep up with the norms of the constant changing world. During our daily lives the members of
my speech community seem to know what slang to use during a certain situation. I belong to a few
speech communities, but my friends seem

How Did The Beatles Impact Society
The Beatles was a revolutionary 1960 s rock and roll band that inspired other bands and society with
their image and their music during the era of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. The band included Ringo
Starr, drummer and singer, George Harrison, lead guitarist and singer, Paul Mccartney, bass guitarist
and singer, and John Lennon, rhythm guitarist and singer. The four men created the band in 1960, and
gained popularity very quickly. They first became popular in the U.K., but after time they started to
become popular in America, starting the British invasion. Soon after their popularity grew in America,
the Beatles became one of the best rock and roll bands of their time, and eventually the best of all
time. They impacted society with their image and their music, and they changed rock and roll forever.

College Critical Thinking Skills
In many of the essays used in college critical thinking is one of the most important skill used. No
matter what class it is we have to always think. Many of the topics students find themselves critically
thinking about are why the character in the storyline have caused them to live or died , what equations
are used to solve a problems or we think about in the long term how recycling will affect our planet.
Critical thinking is also used in real world situations. These situations also vary from bringing in new
ideas to the work place to promoting team work in a classroom and uncovering difficult problems. No
matter where we are or what we do, we are critically thinking. This skill is especially important for my
paper that I had to write for human resources. We had to use critical thinking to reevaluate a situation

An Essay On Why Should Guard Dogs Be Feded
Most dogs used as guard dogs are German Shepherds, with an occasional Doberman Pinscher, Boxer,
or Labrador Retriever. The average weight of an adult male guard dog is about 70 pounds. None
should weigh less than 50 pounds. To satisfactorily provide a guard dog with adequate amounts of
energy and nutrients every day, its food should have the following three characteristics: 1) It should
contain approximately 2000 calories in each pound. 2) It should have the nutrients balanced to be fed
at about 40 available calories per pound of body weight. 3) The overall digestibility of the food should
not be less than 80 percent.
No food exists, in normal commercial food channels, that will satisfy the characteristics just listed.

But, because of the high water content of meat foods, their addition actually reduces the caloric
density of the final diet combination.
Caloric density can be increased by the addition of corn oil. This procedure works well only when
increased energy needs are minimal. With a guard dog s energy requirements, however, so much corn
oil is needed that it, too, will dilute the food and nutrient deficiencies are apt to occur.
All guard dogs should be fed by strict portion control. How each dog s weight, general condition, and
performance are affected by its diet can be much more accurately compared when feeding by portion
control. Guard dogs whom are from a self feeder are apt to become overweight, sluggish or
unresponsive. The last two are particularly fatal to a guard dog and its mission.
Guard dogs should be fed no less than three hours, before or after, their tour of duty. To feed any
closer to the tour is an invitation to bloat, torsion or other gastric distress. The danger of these diseases
is further increased if the dogs are eating low quality foods containing poorly digested

As a British protectorate, without having to contribute tax revenue to the United Kingdom, Guernsey
enjoys the national security, political stability and the advanced financial systems offered by the UK
Crown. Figures released as recently as January 30th 2013 from Guernsey Finance state that Guernsey
remains the domicile of incorporation for more non UK entities listed on the London Stock Exchange
(LSE) than any other jurisdiction globally ; meaning that Guernsey continues to provide a gateway to
accessing capital from around the world.
This convenient state of affairs is not without its challenges. To date, non EU member Guernsey has
resisted pressure from the EU to establish a level playing field with the EU members and set a

even if Guernsey were to adopt a 10% levy on corporate taxation, Guernsey would still remain the

Advances in automotive technology and regulations have contributed to the decrease in car accidents.
The chances of dying in a crash in newer vehicle models have decrease by more than a third in the last
years. The main factors that contribute to safer vehicles are improved structural designs and the
inclusion of passive safety features. Even with this car accidents are still the ninth leading cause of
death among people of ages 15 to 29. The federal government mandated the presence of seatbelts in

The And Placebo Effect On Human Sciences
Since every object, event and story can be interpreted from multiple perspectives, people gain their
knowledge in a way largely influenced by the perspective. It is difficult to be convinced of any
knowledge that is without bias. The knowers all pursue the answer to their questions when researching
or learning the knowledge, which results in the similar way of thinking among the similar
communities. Few can detach themselves from the contemporary situation since the cultural
background, various eras, and diverse ways of knowing all help to shape the pursuit of knowledge.

Although the Chinese government promised to investigate the incident thoroughly, many western
media bitterly criticized the supervision system of food safety in China. From different perspective,
the foreign reporters did not have the intention to harbor the crime of the Chinese food companies and
the incompetence of Chinese ruling system. Moreover, foreign journalists began to suspect that the
Chinese press may have delayed reporting the incident in order to keep the perfect appearance during
the Olympic Games. For the 2008 Chinese milk scandal, the Chinese press held the perspective which
mostly preserves the prestige of Chinese government, while the foreign press boldly deduced and

contemporary events happened around them. Only the descendants, analyzing from new perspective,
can draw a conclusion more comprehensively while learning the history. Historians from different eras

Essay about Japanese Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
JAPANESE FDI In the era of globalization, international trade and international investments are
expanding at exponential rates. Almost all developed countries are involved in Foreign Direct
Investment processes, both in the form of outward and inward FDI. Among those developed countries
there is the case of Japan that is different; Japanese attitude towards FDI has always been, in fact, very
cautious. One one hand, Japanese outward foreign investment and exports have played a fundamental
role in the postwar period of economic rise; on the other hand, the accesses to the domestic market by
foreign investors, the so called Inward FDI, has been very limited. (Paprzycki, Fukao, 2008). Japan is

Therefore, it has been obliged to deregulate foreign exchange controls by observing article 8 of the
IMF (International Monetary Fund) charter. Despite all this, Japanese government at that time
considered inward foreign investment as a threat for local market; in 1967, in fact, the Gaishi
Shingikai (Foreign Investment Deliberation Council) highlighted the negative points of the liberal
capitalization, defining the domination of foreign firms as negative for Japan s economy. (Suginohara,
2008). From 1960, with the approval by the government of the Basic Plan for Liberalization of Trade
and Foreign Exchange, a major number of sectors was liberalized; Japan subsequently liberalized
imports, capital transactions and financial sector. Starting from the second half of the 1960s Inward
and outward FDI were liberalized step by step, and in May 1972 the possession of foreign currency by
residents was liberalized. In December 1980 the Foreign Capital Law was incorporated to the Foreign
Exchange Law. This revised law was aimed to liberalize capital account transactions (Aramaki, 2006).
The revision of the Foreign Exchange Law permitted the creation of a large number of foreign owned
companies and a consequent phenomenal growth of FDI in the manufacturing sector (from 1,092
millions $ in 1976 1980 to 2,359 millions $ in 1981 1985 and 7,092 millions $ between 1986 and

Essay Analysis of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Analysis of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens, the revolutionary 19th century novelist, wrote a bildungsroman of Phillip Pirrip (Pip)
and the reality of his own Great
Expectations in his pursuit to become a gentleman. In Chapter 8, the reader is introduced to Miss
Havisham and Estella and this is where
Pip first becomes dissatisfied with the life at the forge.
There were many writers in Dickens day whose works are no longer read; this is possibly because
Dickens did something idiosyncratically different from his contemporaries. The plot of Great
Expectations is quite complex, yet it is the way that Dickens handles the various elements of the plot
that makes the novel appealing. For instance, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By introducing this character, the questions of why she is withdrawn and how this is related to the
subplot concerning the convicts are left unanswered. It is not until during Chapters 40 42 that the
reader finds out about Miss Havisham s connection with the convicts. Dickens is deliberately vague
about Miss Havisham s past. This allows him later to introduce the idea that she might be Pip s
benefactor.
From the first point of contact Dickens is creating twists and turns later in the novel.
The eccentricity and eeriness of Miss Havisham fascinates the reader, as she is one of fiction s
strangest (Ch. 8 p. 46) women. Questions are posed in this chapter about the connection between her
and Estella and why is she wearing bridal dress (Ch. 8 p. 50). The reader may assume several reasons
but their innate inquisitiveness helps propel the novel forward.
This device is used because of the structure of the novel. It was originally printed in weekly
instalments. This means that Great
Expectations does not have the structure of a conventional novel.
Instead of moving towards a general climax, the story has many mini resolutions of the plot. Each new
episode needed a cliffhanger type ending in order to ensure that the public would buy the next
instalment. This has often been seen as a weakness of Charles
Dickens novels as the story can become repetitive. An advantage of this is that the original reader, if
having missed an issue, can have

article Strategies to Incorporate the Voices of People with Significant Disabilities in UCEDD
Information Gathering and Operations it addressed research based information on people with diverse
abilities. People with disabilities have the right to active participation in their voice in policies that
affect them. This research is current because it allows people with significant disabilities to present
their research in a public forum. People with disabilities get to know and work closely in their
research. Also, people with significant disabilities may have the opportunity to attend a conference
and present their research and work in a public forum. In evaluating the credibility of this article, it
provides information on evaluating bibliographic citation and reference list that evaluate the
credibility of the author. The research questions are significant to my study for people with significant
disabilities because it brings to the forefront how people with significant disabilities communicate
their concerns. The main steps in this research process are to uncover the concerns and voices of
people with disabilities. It is important to help disabled people with developmental disabilities to
become independent, productive, and included in all facets of community life. The DD Act requires

Italian Education Vs American Education Essay
One thing in common from all the countries in the world is that they have an education system. In
school, students learn the basic subjects such as mathematics, english, science, social studies, and
other extra subjects if offered. Students don t think about the importance of basic subjects that affects
their everyday life that they got from the school years of education. Although the school system seems
like it s all the same from all the countries, it is not. How the school organize each subject, each grade
level, and the requirements for each school fall to a different situation. The education system such as
in the United States and Italy happens to be an example of that.
When the school year starts, students in Italy and the United States start and end around the same

The Declarative Process Model
to create an infographic with the keywords Declarative process model . Background information about
this topic The constraint based approach in business process management regards pro cesses not as
imperative, but as declarative models. Traditional process modeling languages work with models of
the imperative approach. Imper ative process modeling defines that processes must be executed
strictly in the course they have been specified, i. e. activities need to be performed in exactly in the
form of the predefined model. Any change in execution or omitting of activities is prohibited by this
means. This is why imperative process model fall into the trap of being over specified sometimes.
However, not all processes need an exact representation of the control flow, such as informal
processes. On the contrary to the traditional imperative approach, the declarative process model is

A lot of the time there is an infinite number of possible executions in a process model allowed. This

graphical representations of LTL (linear temporal logic) semantics. With this graphical representation
declare templates are understandable people even if they are no experts in logic. [6] The constraint

The Reality of Married Life
THE REALITY OF MARRIED LIFE
John J. Robinson in his book Of Suchness gives the following advice on love, sex and married life. Be
careful and discreet; it is much easier to get married than unmarried. If you have the right mate, it s
heavenly; but if not, you live in a twenty four hour daily hell that clings constantly to you, it can be
one of the bitterest things in life. Life is indeed strange. Somehow, when you find the right one, you
know it in your heart. It is not just an infatuation of the moment. But the powerful urges of sex drive a
young person headlong into blind acts and one cannot trust his feelings too much. This is especially
true if one drinks and get befuddled; the lousiest slut in a dark bar can look like a Venus ... Show more

Then, much to the disappointment of both parties, the proverbial veil that had so far been concealing
the innermost feelings of each partner is removed to expose the true nature of both partners. It is then
that disillusion sets in.
Material Needs
Love by itself does not subsist on fresh air and sunshine alone. The present world is a materialistic
world and in order to meet your material needs, proper financing and budgeting is essential. Without
it, no family can live comfortably. Such a situation aptly bears out the saying that when poverty
knocks at the door, love flies through the window . This does not mean that one must be rich to make a
marriage work. However, if one has the bare necessities of life provided through a secure job and
careful planning, many unnecessary anxieties can be removed from a marriage.
The discomfort of poverty can be averted if there is complete understanding between the couple. Both
partners must understand the value of contentment. Both must treat all problems as our problems and
share all the ups and downs in the true spirit of a long standing life partnership.
A feeling of security and contentment comes from mutual understanding which is the SECRET of a

Jewish faith is clear and the main theme that he wishes to express in all his writings, but it is apparent
he has placed his faith in Realism, not Judaism (Rogers). In Defender of the Faith, Sergeant Marx

At this point is important to mention about one of the reformers that was while Calvin was young. The
reformer that was at that time was Luther, he influenced in some way to Calvin, they had different

Humanist side and they share also some doctrine. Some of the different way to think that they had are;
One of the most important disagree that they have is that Calvin believed that Christ died only for the

Animal Cells And Their Functions
Animal cells and their functions
Cell Membrane
The cell surface membrane is a semi permeable membrane whose function is to control the exchange
of substances between the cell and its environment. Semi permeable means that only certain molecules
are allowed to be transported in and out of the cell. The membrane is mainly made up of Lipid and
protein. On the diagram, the Cell Membrane forms the outer shell of the animal cell, and can be seen
as the bold line around it.
Nucleus
The Nucleus has a sphere shaped body that encloses a variety of organelles, including the nucleolus,
and is home to the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) of a cell inside the
chromosomes. It is typically seen as the largest part of the animal cell. The nucleus controls many of
the functions and activities inside an animal cell, and is known as the control centre of a cell. On the
diagram, the nucleolus can be located as the black dot in the middle of the Nucleus, and is the main
site for ribosome formation.
Nuclear Membrane
The Nuclear Membrane surrounds the Nucleus, which is known as a Porous Membrane. This is
covered in pores, which are tiny holes that allow the exchange of RNA to move between the nucleus
and the cytoplasm. Proteins that are desired by the Nucleus are also able to move through these pores.
Nucleolus
The Nucleolus is the organelle structure inside the nucleus; it supports the synthesis of ribosomes,
which is where the Ribosomal RNA is produced. Some cells

Battle Of Belle Wood Essay
The Battle of Belleau Wood is significant in Marine Corps history because it spawned its most notable
nickname The Devil Dogs . It was the Germans who gave them this name because of their fighting
strength and it also produced some of the most famous quotes in history. During World War 1
Germany occupied France in Belleau Wood which is located near the Marne River. In March 1918,
nearly 50 additional German divisions were sent to France or the Western Front after the surrender of
the Russians on the Eastern Front. (History com, pg.3). They hoped to defeat the allies before
reinforcements could be sent. The British Fifth Army was virtually destroyed and German forces

Brief History of the Domestication of Cats and Dogs
You can find at least one cat or dog in almost every home in America. In fact, approximately 67
million households have pets and there are 164 million owned pets in the U.S. (U.S. Pet Ownership).
But, do we know where our beloved pets came from? Many know that the dog descended from wolves
and the cat descended from some larger wild cat but it is a little more complicated than that.
So just what country did cats originate from? Researchers found that cats have been involved with
humans for about 4,000 years. They also found a feline that roamed Eurasia and Africa more than 34
million years ago! That s a long time! This early cat weighed about twenty pounds and was the size of
the bobcats we see today. It was called the Proailurus, which means early cat (Cat History). The NC
Museum of Natural Scientists states that cats came to North America with Colonial settlers in the 1700
s. Humans have helped spread them throughout the world by keeping them as companions (Pushy
Plants).
Unlike dogs, cats are said to have domesticated themselves. When humans started settling North
America and farming land, cats came in and protected the crops from rodents. The humans saw that
they were good so they fed and protected the cats (Carver). The humans also began to store crops,
such as grain, and with storage, came rats. The cats were delighted by the great amounts of prey and
the people appreciated cats even more (Zax).
The earliest breed of cats in Europe was the Angora. Scientists

What Is The Target Audience
Phase One, define the target audience: The first step in project is to meet with all the project stake
holders to define the target audience. This is a critical step because it will inform all the others
regarding the look, feel, content, and over all aesthetic of the site. Given that this website is a
marketing tool for VIVASEL, the target audience for the website will be the same target audience that
will use the product.
Phase Two, create a site map/wireframes: In this step the website will be outlined by the development
team and the other stakeholders. The team will create rough images of what the different web pages
will look like, functionality will be discussed, and a general design direction will be agreed upon.

which will ensure all of the website content is compliant and displayed correctly.
Phase five, tracking and analytics: In this step, the completed website will have its tracking suite
installed. Given that the website is based on a Joomla CMS, the best tracking suite to use is JRealTime
analytics. This 3rd party plug in will integrate with the website to provide detailed tracking data for
every single element. The developers will also install tracking code from Google analytics, which
provides the same functionality, for consistency. Tracking is critically important to the website
because it will provide relevant information that will be measured against the website s Key
Performance Indicators. This data will inform all the stakeholders on how effective the website is.
Phase six, testing: This is when the website will be tested by both internal employees familiar to the
project, as well as outside individuals. The feedback from both groups will be compared and analyzed

Relationship between Incentive Pay and Employee Work Performance
An incentive pay program can reward employees who continue to produce superior work or encourage
employees who already produce good work to best. Sometimes, use an incentive system when
employees are lack of enthusiasm of getting down to work and improving things. If everyone in the
same job classification gets the same pay, there is no real incentive to do an outstanding job (French,
1990). Various incentive plans used to motivate all employees such as production staff, sales staff,
administrative staff and managerial and professional staff on an individual basis. To be improved
employee work performance, the incentive pay programs need to be fairly matched with the
employees expectation. Properly designed and maintained incentive pay program has the potential to
increase employees productivity and work performance.
There are three main types of incentive plans an organization can be practiced. These are individual
incentive plans, group incentive plans and company wide incentive plans. Moreover, suggestion plans
and positive reinforcement programs can be considered as incentive plans (French, 1990). Flexible

The Shack, a Discussion of Symbolism

The Shack: A Discussion of Symbolism
The Shack, written by William P. Young, tackles one man s quest for faith and reassurance in God
through several metaphors, parables and symbols. These symbols are used to compare the story
religion itself; and from this comparison it is easier to grasp a deeper understanding. However, with
this underlying symbolism, it s possible to over analyze and disregard the fictitious nature of the book.
Despite this, there are many symbols within The Shack that are essential to the story and the deeper
significance within it. Symbols are used within The Shack to really enunciate the relationship

Another symbol found several times throughout the story would be the lady bug. Before the family
leaves to go on a camping trip, Missy asks her mother and her father if she can bring her insects with
her. Her father says yes, while her mother says no, because they will be safer at home. This is
symbolic because it turns out that Missy would have been safer at home too. Perhaps the most noted
symbols in the entire story would be the physical human representations of the Trinity. God is
represented by a large African American woman; however this is just the form that God chose to
spoke to Mack through, because Papa (God) says that God is neither male nor female. (93) Jesus is
portrayed as a clumsy Jewish man. While the Holy Spirit is an Asian woman, who behaves rather
strangely and flits in and out of Mack s vision and can appear in more than one place at once, (128)
these are all metaphorical representations of the manifestation of the Trinity. Mack in his first meeting
with God following his cathartic regeneration of unloading his anger and rage sees God in a quite
different manner than he expected, which is why God is portrayed this specific way. This
materialization of God in this form is important because this isn t a literal assembly with God. This is
a parable or metaphor that represents Mack s introduction to a God that isn t the remote, presentiment,
ominous, hypercritical figure that Mack has believed him to be,

This is emphasized in the play when Eva Smith asks Mr Birling for more money. They were all rather
restless, and suddenly decided to ask for more money ... I refused, of course , Birling explained why

Maycomb s usual disease is just another way of saying racism and prejudice, both of those things are

bring no good, the same applies for racism and prejudice, a disease can ruin a life (or lives), and the
same applies for prejudice and racism. It is a truly evil thing and even though the book takes place in

Aruba s first known inhabitant dates to 1000 A.D. The earliest known settlers were known as the

Eastlyn Koons Robots Are Better Than Humans
The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of technology can lead to a

intelligence machines have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear the uprising of robot

The fact that the camouflage prey stimulated a lower predation rate compared to the non camouflage
prey indicated that camouflage, body coloration has a significant effect on an organism in a specific
environment. In addition, having camouflage features not only reduced the predation rate, but
influenced a better survival rate. Those who were able to become invisible to their prey were able to
live longer compared to those who were easily identified. Similar results were evident in an
experiment comparing the effects of background color of chameleons on birds and snakes. Stuart
(2008) did an experimental study that showed a greater response to birds rather than snakes, due to
slight color blindness. Poor color discrimination limited the snakes to determine the location of their

point of view as he looks and watches whatever that girl is doing. For example, we see his point of
view as he watches Nakia (Zoë Kravitz) erase something in her notebook with her pencil to which he
then helps her solve the problem she was working on. Also, later on, we see through Malcolm s eyes,
Lily (Chanel Iman) swimming topless in the pool as she too stares back at Malcolm. Whenever
Malcolm faces possible danger, we also then switch to his viewpoint. Like when Malcolm and his
friends look around for the guy in the red El Camino that wants the drugs, we use Malcolm s line of
sight and see his eyes search the curb for the car. Also, we jump into Malcolm s viewpoint when he is
in the school s bathroom hiding from the two patrol officers and the drug dog to escape getting caught
with the dope that is in his backpack and return to the SAT test that he is supposed to be taking.
Another time when we are shifted into Malcolm s perspective is when is attempting to figure
something out. Like when Malcolm and his friends get rejected by the bouncer at Dom s party, we see
from Malcolm s eyes a solution of using the band equipment that needs to be carried in to get them
inside the building for the party. Yet another example of Malcolm putting two and

Personal Narrative Of John Harold Johnson s Life
I am immensely grateful to have the opportunity to share my knowledge of someone who has inspired
and motivated me throughout my lifetime and deserves recognition. John Harold Johnson was born in
January 1918 in Arkansas City, Arkansas. Sadly, African Americans had no chance for an education
beyond eighth grade in Arkansas City, Arkansas, so, Johnson and his family moved to Chicago where
he attended DuSable High School. Like myself, Johnson was born in a small town and born into
poverty; however, he rose above poverty and racial discrimination to become a successful
businessman and publisher. Throughout my lifetime, my mother has always quoted Johnson. Two of
his quotes that have stuck by me and fueled my ambition throughout my lifetime

Internationalization refers to the increasing importance of international trade, international relations,
treaties, alliances.2.
Regionalisation means a less interconnected world , with a stronger regional spirit. (Mercosur for
example).
A definition of Globalisation would be that : Globalisation typically refers to the process by which
different economies and societies become more closely integrated3.
Another definition would be that: Globalisation describes a process by which national and regional
economies, societies, and cultures have become integrated through the global network of trade,
communication, immigration and transportation. 4
According to those definitions, globalisation seems to be a process that creates an international market
for goods and services, that creates a rise of standardised norms and social behaviour, that facilitated
centralisation of international politics through supranational entities such as the United Nations, the
World Bank or the World Trade organisation.
Looking towards history, markets has been increasingly integrated to a global market, which was
followed by the spread of ideologies (liberalism, democracy, capitalism, human right).

Julius Caesar Ignorance
Beware of the Ides of March, were the cries of those who knew what was to come. Three times Caesar
was forewarned and three times he did deny. What brought this prominent and mighty lear down was
not the conspirators as would seem to deem but as Jan Smuts states, A man is not defeated by his
opponents but himself.
In the Shakespearean tragedy Julius Caesar, the infamous Caesar is assassinated by those whom many
consider friends and even brother. Caesar is foretold by many the fate of his destiny. At the end, the
man who considers himself the north star in which Rome revolves around, and the cornerstone and
pillar of the edifice of the empire is brought low.
Everyone agrees Julius Caesar should have ignored the warnings of others; ... Show more content on

The night before the assassination, Calpurnia states... Fierce fiery warriors [fought] upon the clouds.
In ranks and squadrons and right form of war, which drizzled blood upon the capital. This dream and
the odd portents during the night became the second confirmation to Caesar of the events that would
take place if he proceeded to the senate. However, the voice of another darkens the voice of his wife.
And the once wise and noble Caesar is manipulated to his fall. Throughout the play Caesar is not only
deaf to those who care for him the most but the voices in which need his closest attention are
relinquished like words that drift through the air.
The third reason it is imperative for the emperor to regard the warnings is to strengthen character. The
last and final caution Caesar receives is in the streets on the way to the Senate, when he brushes aside
Artemidoro. However, this final plea is not enough to dissuade Caesar from going to the Senate. These
encounters reveal much of Caesar s character one in which lacked discernment. Faced over and over
again to evaluate and make the right decisions Caesar always makes the wrong one. Julius
miscalculates everything and pays for it at the

Part 1 Exam
1.) Anticipatory and response based business models are the two ways used by firms to fulfill
customer requirements. The fundamental difference in the two models is timing. Anticipatory model
has been the traditional business practice, which was mainly forecast driven. Since information about
purchasing behavior was not available, and the channel partners were collaborating loosely, businesses
were driven by forecasts. The forecasts used by the manufacturers, wholesales, distributors, and
retailers were often different that led to a lot of excess inventory. All the work was performed in
anticipation of future projections, so the likelihood of misgauging customer requirements ... Show

Another difference is that the number of suppliers of a firm is generally less than the number of
customers making the procurement cycle more direct.
Manufacturing support performance cycles serve as the logistics of production. These functions
maintain orderly and economic flow of materials and work in process inventory to support production
schedules. The goal is to support manufacturing requirements in the most efficient manner. These are
internal cycles to the firm, thus they are rarely affected by behavioral uncertainty. Customer
accommodation performance cycles are those associated with processing delivering customer orders.
They link customers through timely economical product availability. Physical distribution integrates
marketing and manufacturing efforts. To improve the effectiveness forecast accuracy must improve to
reduce uncertainty.
3.) Transactional marketing, in the perspective of luring the customer for a one off purchase, focuses
strongly on price and short term benefits and product performance, with limited service. Relationship
marketing is all about generating repeated sales and customer interactions, thus focusing on bringing
value to the customer, and assuring long term performance and service, all aspects of quality become
major concerns. Relationship marketing brings customer centricity to the spotlight. This vision has

  • 2. The Music Of Ludwig Van Beethoven Throughout the course of history there has never been a more influential, creative and versatile composer as Ludwig Van Beethoven. If not for his ability to expand the way in which music is created, played and heard, current music would lack the polyphonic sound that is needed in order to create texture and depth. Beethoven is believed to be purely a classical composer. However, to the contrary he can also be considered purely romantic. His compositions consisted of a form that was never heard before and in turn inspired future artists to copy him. This form was believed to have created the basis for music during the Romantic Era. Ludwig Van Beethoven s ability to break compositional boundaries, ultimately created an everlasting sound because the forms and style in which he wrote in, are still used and applied to music today. Ludwig Van Beethoven was born on December 16, 1770. He grew up in the city of Bonn, Germany, which was in the Electorate of Cologne, a principality of the Holy Roman Empire (Bio). Beethoven had two younger brothers named Caspar and Johann. They however were not as musically inclined as young Ludwig. Their mother, Maria Magdalena van Beethoven, was a slender gentle woman while his father, was a mediocre court singer better known for his alcoholism than his musical abilities (Bio). At a young age Beethoven s father pushed him into becoming a musical prodigy by forcing him into rigorous practice regiments rather than going to school. Hoping that his son ... I looked around and all I saw were the tall trees of the Blue Ridge Mountains. When we arrived, I made them ride the biggest roller coaster. It was called the Fury 325. I bet it was 5 miles long! The line was a long boring wait, but it was worth it. It was as long as the distance from Clay, to Ivydale. When we were going swiftly down the humongous coaster I heard Sarah scream and Gracie yell No no no! You ll be fine I screamed in a very high pitched shout. No, I won t! Exclaimed Gracie. • 4. Superposed Community Essay Dat Talk What is a speech community? This may be a question asked by many. A Speech community is a group of people who share the same norms and expectations regarding the use of language. Everyone belongs to some type of speech community based on their demographic background, race, or age. Every day I use words that may only be acceptable and understood by the people included in my speech community. Depending on the place or scenario my words may slightly be altered to adjust to the speech community I am entering. When I m with my friends a normal conversation may go, what s good bro? meaning what is going on or how are you doing? You at the crib bro? a phrase used to know if one of our friends is at his place of residence. In my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel that slang and language itself has come a long way. There was a day where I asked an elderly lady at my job if she knew what molly was she explained with a confused face that she didn t. I told her that molly was the street name for the drug ecstasy. She then told me that when she was my age they called it ex or the love drug I had never heard of the love drug before. This is an example of how words used are change based on your age, race, or norm of that time period. I feel that race has a lot to do with the words people use this day in age; for example an African American may call his house a crib and a European American may call it his home. In many cases, people would call this speaking in ebonics. Some words that my speech community use are widely used by others around the same age, and that is also a factor of the drastic change in word development. When a member of my group hears an elder use slang younger people use it s amusing I feel like the older generation is stepping out of their norm when it comes to staying up to date with the new slang. There are a few older people who catch on to the lingo my group and I use, and try to incorporate it into their lives to feel young ,and keep up with the norms of the constant changing world. During our daily lives the members of my speech community seem to know what slang to use during a certain situation. I belong to a few speech communities, but my friends seem ... The average weight of an adult male guard dog is about 70 pounds. None should weigh less than 50 pounds. To satisfactorily provide a guard dog with adequate amounts of energy and nutrients every day, its food should have the following three characteristics: 1) It should contain approximately 2000 calories in each pound. 2) It should have the nutrients balanced to be fed at about 40 available calories per pound of body weight. 3) The overall digestibility of the food should not be less than 80 percent. Almost all developed countries are involved in Foreign Direct Investment processes, both in the form of outward and inward FDI. Among those developed countries there is the case of Japan that is different; Japanese attitude towards FDI has always been, in fact, very cautious. One one hand, Japanese outward foreign investment and exports have played a fundamental role in the postwar period of economic rise; on the other hand, the accesses to the domestic market by foreign investors, the so called Inward FDI, has been very limited. (Suginohara, 2008). From 1960, with the approval by the government of the Basic Plan for Liberalization of Trade and Foreign Exchange, a major number of sectors was liberalized; Japan subsequently liberalized imports, capital transactions and financial sector. Starting from the second half of the 1960s Inward and outward FDI were liberalized step by step, and in May 1972 the possession of foreign currency by residents was liberalized. In December 1980 the Foreign Capital Law was incorporated to the Foreign Exchange Law. This revised law was aimed to liberalize capital account transactions (Aramaki, 2006). The revision of the Foreign Exchange Law permitted the creation of a large number of foreign owned companies and a consequent phenomenal growth of FDI in the manufacturing sector (from 1,092 millions $ in 1976 1980 to 2,359 millions $ in 1981 1985 and 7,092 millions $ between 1986 and 1990) . Essay Analysis of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens Analysis of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens Charles Dickens, the revolutionary 19th century novelist, wrote a bildungsroman of Phillip Pirrip (Pip) and the reality of his own Great Expectations in his pursuit to become a gentleman. In Chapter 8, the reader is introduced to Miss Havisham and Estella and this is where Pip first becomes dissatisfied with the life at the forge. There were many writers in Dickens day whose works are no longer read; this is possibly because Dickens did something idiosyncratically different from his contemporaries. The plot of Great Expectations is quite complex, yet it is the way that Dickens handles the various elements of the plot that makes the novel appealing. For instance, the ... It is not until during Chapters 40 42 that the reader finds out about Miss Havisham s connection with the convicts. Dickens is deliberately vague about Miss Havisham s past. This allows him later to introduce the idea that she might be Pip s benefactor. From the first point of contact Dickens is creating twists and turns later in the novel. The eccentricity and eeriness of Miss Havisham fascinates the reader, as she is one of fiction s strangest (Ch. 8 p. 46) women. Questions are posed in this chapter about the connection between her and Estella and why is she wearing bridal dress (Ch. 8 p. 50). The reader may assume several reasons but their innate inquisitiveness helps propel the novel forward. This device is used because of the structure of the novel. It was originally printed in weekly instalments. This means that Great Expectations does not have the structure of a conventional novel. Instead of moving towards a general climax, the story has many mini resolutions of the plot. Each new episode needed a cliffhanger type ending in order to ensure that the public would buy the next instalment. This has often been seen as a weakness of Charles Dickens novels as the story can become repetitive. An advantage of this is that the original reader, if having missed an issue, can have a ... Background information about this topic The constraint based approach in business process management regards pro cesses not as imperative, but as declarative models. Traditional process modeling languages work with models of the imperative approach. Imper ative process modeling defines that processes must be executed strictly in the course they have been specified, i. e. activities need to be performed in exactly in the form of the predefined model. Be careful and discreet; it is much easier to get married than unmarried. If you have the right mate, it s heavenly; but if not, you live in a twenty four hour daily hell that clings constantly to you, it can be one of the bitterest things in life. Life is indeed strange. Somehow, when you find the right one, you know it in your heart. It is not just an infatuation of the moment. The present world is a materialistic world and in order to meet your material needs, proper financing and budgeting is essential. Without it, no family can live comfortably. Such a situation aptly bears out the saying that when poverty knocks at the door, love flies through the window . This does not mean that one must be rich to make a marriage work. However, if one has the bare necessities of life provided through a secure job and careful planning, many unnecessary anxieties can be removed from a marriage. The discomfort of poverty can be averted if there is complete understanding between the couple. Both partners must understand the value of contentment. Both must treat all problems as our problems and share all the ups and downs in the true spirit of a long standing life partnership. In fact, approximately 67 million households have pets and there are 164 million owned pets in the U.S. (U.S. Pet Ownership). But, do we know where our beloved pets came from? Many know that the dog descended from wolves and the cat descended from some larger wild cat but it is a little more complicated than that. So just what country did cats originate from? Researchers found that cats have been involved with humans for about 4,000 years. They also found a feline that roamed Eurasia and Africa more than 34 million years ago! That s a long time! This early cat weighed about twenty pounds and was the size of the bobcats we see today. It was called the Proailurus, which means early cat (Cat History). The NC Museum of Natural Scientists states that cats came to North America with Colonial settlers in the 1700 s. Humans have helped spread them throughout the world by keeping them as companions (Pushy Plants). Unlike dogs, cats are said to have domesticated themselves. When humans started settling North America and farming land, cats came in and protected the crops from rodents. The humans saw that they were good so they fed and protected the cats (Carver). The humans also began to store crops, such as grain, and with storage, came rats. The cats were delighted by the great amounts of prey and the people appreciated cats even more (Zax). The earliest breed of cats in Europe was the Angora. Scientists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Blindness And Photosynthesis The fact that the camouflage prey stimulated a lower predation rate compared to the non camouflage prey indicated that camouflage, body coloration has a significant effect on an organism in a specific environment. In addition, having camouflage features not only reduced the predation rate, but influenced a better survival rate. Those who were able to become invisible to their prey were able to live longer compared to those who were easily identified. Similar results were evident in an experiment comparing the effects of background color of chameleons on birds and snakes. Stuart (2008) did an experimental study that showed a greater response to birds rather than snakes, due to slight color blindness. Poor color discrimination limited the snakes to determine the location of their prey, the chameleons, compared to the birds (Stuart 2008). Overall, camouflage advanced the tested chameleons ability to survive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
