The Wild West Of America
THE WILD WEST OF AMERICA The Wild West of America, or what historian referred to as the
Old West, since the 1800 s men and women all wanted to move to the west to start a new life,
have land, find gold and silver ,and to escape the law hence the Wild West. The West of the U.S.
started off from the west of the Mississippi all the way to the west coast. With all the open land
and the people in the west, legends and stories are being made throughout time, and these stories are
for the future generation to hear about the adventurous time of the Wild Wild West. From the
beginning of time, people have told stories of their adventures, survival, the crazy gunfights, and the
danger they been through in the west. Most of these stories and tales starts off at campfires, where
is told to friends and families about their experience. Sometimes these tales were true, others
exaggerations, and occasionally nothing more than some crazy tales which seems too good or too
outrageous to be true. The more interesting part of these tales were passed along from friends to
friends and from one generation to the next, and along the way the tales grows stronger to the point
they became legends and urban myths. With all the story tellings through the years, it becomes a
small part of history and then in popular culture. Where it turns into music, dance, movies, tv
shows, and cultures. For two centuries the Wild West was molded into the american s culture that
transpire in popular entertainment.

Rhetorical Analysis Of LGBT Discrimination And The Advocates
Losing rights for being one s self
Even though fellow Americans use the constitution as an excuse to discriminate against LGBT
peoples and women because of their freedom of speech, the civil rights act should protect all
LGBT communities and women. John Oliver s LGBT Discrimination and The Advocates The
Equality Act is Necessary demonstrates that all Americans should be treated as equals and not
discriminated against because of Color, Race, Sex, or National Origin.
Have you ever thought that progress would move backwards? Even though the gay rights
movement is gaining back the respect and rights of gay people, it should go even further than that.
It should include all peoples of the LGBT community. The movement started in the mid 1960 s and
is still continuing today, but very gradually. John Oliver s LGBT... Show more content on

The Sidewalk Racer Analysis
Views of Being Alone
The two poems and the passage I read are alike. The characters in the poems The Sidewalk Racer
, When I Read , and the character in a passage from Z for Zachariah have different point of views.
There are similarities and differences in the way the characters view being alone.
First, in the poem, The Sidewalk Racer by Lillian Morrison, the author addresses the meaning of
being alone by writing about someone who is riding a skateboard and likes being alone. In the
poem the speaker says, I m the one and only single engine human automobile. This has meaning.
If the rider was riding with someone, they wouldn t be the one and only. Because of this, I think
this person enjoys being alone. Because the author wrote in a positive tone, I think the character
likes it. This person is obviously excited about what she does. This person views themselves as
superior when they re alone I suppose.
Second, in the poem, When I Read by Lillian Morrison, the author addresses the meaning of
being alone by writing about someone who runs but reads books. They like to be alone in my
opinion. In the poem, the speaker says But when I read then I m a diver! . This person is ... Show

O Brien, the author addresses the meaning of being alone by writing about someone who s
isolated and sees life. In the passage, the girl says, At first when all the others went away, I hated
being alone, and I watched the road all day and most of the night hoping that a car, anybody,
would come over the hill from either direction. She uses the words at first . Earlier in the
passage, she can see someone gradually getting closer to her land, she thinks about how if he
doesn t come, she d be okay. She was afraid of him. Even though she was excited at first, she
became skeptical and wondered if he was a psychopath. Clearly, she d rather be alone. She
definitely has a different point of view compared to the other

How Cortez Changed My Life
I never want to be this person, but I feel like at this point I have no choice. Working here has
become something I dread. Seriously dread. It s emotionally draining on me and it s all getting to

A few weeks back there was a week where three out of the four days I worked a guest confronted
me with a mistake; a mistake Cortez had made. Two people in the same week telling me that
Cortez put in reservations for them yet nothing was in the system. One was a group of four rooms

When I asked Cortez about it he brushed it off as a miscommunication between them. He s brushing

Individuals in the Organization
Chapter 4
Individual in the Organization
A study of the individual in an organization is important, for the bulk of the adult population spends
more than a third of its waking hours in the organization by which it is employed. And for most
people, formal organizations represent a major part of the environment that exerts a significant
effect upon their behavior.
To represent individual in an organization, we must look into organization as a social system.

These definitions point to the dual aspects of organization, as both function and framework or a
process and structure. It is a human activity and, at the same time, it is a group of people. Its
existence is by deliberating design and not by accidents. It exists because of an objective which it
seeks to attain effectively and efficiently.
Concepts of an Organization An organization is a structural process in which persons interact for
objectives. This view of organization contains several important points:
1.The organization is always made up of people.
2.The people in organizations interact; that is, the people in the organization are related to one
another in some way.
3.The interactions of people are ordered by some structure that can be described.
4.The structured interactions are designed to achieve the personal objectives of the people
interacting. In other words, people join and/or participate in organizations in order to achieve their
own objectives.
5.The interactions which result in the achievement of personal objective of any member.
The Organization Context A complete understanding of organizational behavior requires both an
understanding of human behavior and the understanding of the organization context within which
human behavior is acted out. The organizational context is the specific setting within which
organizational behavior is enacted.

Abortion for Underage Children Should Require Parental...
Underage people are prohibiting smoking, drinking, or going in field trips without their parents
permission. Therefore, how can a teenage girl have an abortion without the approval of her parents?
Abortion itself is a controversial subject, and underage abortion is even more controversial. Minors
should not have an abortionwithout the consent of their parents or their legal guardians for a variety
of reasons. First, most adolescents are not mature enough to make decisions that will change their
lives forever. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen
Sebelius state, Some older adolescents have the cognitive ability and capacity to reason similarly to
an adult. However, neuroimaging studies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents must be included in their children s decisions because parents can influence their children
in a significant way. For instance, parental consent laws reduce the minor abortion rate by 19
percent (qtd. in Davis). A 2008 study done by Michael J. New, Ph.D. shows that parental
involvement laws reduce the abortion rate among 17 years old by 18.3 percent, among 16 years
old by 14.3 percent, and among 15 years old by 8.6 percent (qtd. in Davis). These statistics show
that the states that require parental involvement laws the abortion rates decline greatly.
Sometimes, teens want to have an abortion because they are afraid of their parents. However, if
the law requires minors to inform their parents about their pregnancy and the possibility of an
abortion, their parents will be able to help them. If a teen does not inform her parents about her
being pregnant, this teen will never know if her parents would have been supportive and guide
her through this difficult process. Finally, the most crucial reason to why parental consent laws
for abortion should be legal is the potential medical dangerous that can occur before and after an
abortion (Earll). Parents that are aware of their children desire to have an abortion and support
their children s decisions can provide important medical history to a physician (Christian Med.). A
minor may not be fully conscious of a family history that makes surgical or medical abortion

Power In Stephen Frears Film, The Queen And Shakespeare s...
Power is the ability to manipulate and control whatever one desires, to do what one pleases to
do, without answering to authority. Political authority and power play an extensive role in both
Stephen Frears Film, The Queen and Shakespeare s play, King Lear. Frears explores the theme of
power through, Queen Elizabeth II, a hardline traditionalist who is blinded by old world protocols
and traditions all but failing to see the transfer in balance of power. Similarly, Shakespeare
explores the theme through the protagonist Lear, a king fascinated with grand showings of his
sovereignty by staging and arranging situations that praise his ego. The very nature of power is in

The emotive grandstanding language illustrates the dynamic prominence of exercising power
imprudently and in haste. However, in contrast to The Queen, Lear s transference of political
authority to his daughters is on the prerequisite of flattery with an over exaggerated speech which
must appeal and appease his ego: Which of you shall we say doth love us most, that we our largest
bounty may extend. (Act 1.1.45 50) Lear s actions have afforded his daughters the opportunity to
take advantage of him. This strengthens Shakespeare s theme of power, that authority is nothing
more than a show and a display of status through language and verbal praise.
In addition, Frears demonstrates the fragility of power and where leadership is vehement when
Princess Diana is killed. The Queen loses some informal authority torn between old world
protocols and customs, remarking that, This isn t a matter of state, it s a private matter. The
Queen does not want to join the public in mourning, she wants to keep it separate. Her cold aloof
persona displays a woman trapped between two eras and as such fails to see what is happening
around her. She is naГЇve and out of touch,

Internet Safety And The Internet
Internet safety has been an extensive issue for children and adolescents since accuse to the Internet

Bipolar Disorder And Manic Depressive Disorder
Bipolar disorder, previously manic depressive disorder, is a disorder that has a myriad common
misconceptions surrounding it within the general public. Unless one has taken the time to
research what Bipolar Disorder is/entails or is suffering from the disorder itself, knowledge
about the disorder typically comes from hearsay. Before reading Kay Redfield Jamison s novel,
most of what I knew or had learned about Bipolar Disorder was from other individuals. I knew it
was some form of disorder but the details eluded me. Many times you will hear teenagers say
things like Oh, she is so bipolar when a friend shifts from happy one minute to mad the next or
The weather is so bipolar when it shifts from sunny to raining rapidly. From this, I assumed that
Bipolar Disorder had something to do with a rapid shift in moods. However, other than looking
up on one occasion whether Bipolar Disorder and Manic Depressive Disorder are the same
thing, I did not pay much more attention to what Bipolar Disorder was or what those suffering
from the disorder dealt with on a daily basis. It was not until I came to college where we briefly
covered the disorder in classes, like intro, and read Jamison s memoir for another course that I
really began to understand what Bipolar Disorder is and how it affects those who suffer from it.
After having read Jamison s memoir, the life of those suffering with Bipolar Disorder became a
little easier to imagine. It most certainly is not an easy

Building Blocks Of A Team
Building Blocks of a Team When it comes time to build an effective team for a growing
organization, the first and most important step is to determine what work will be done. The
second step is to analyze and create a plan to define the goals and objectives, by defining specific
roles and tasks you will ensure that there are no responsibilities being overlapped that could
cause problems and tension down the road. Once the goals have been defined, the next step is to
choose the individuals that will best support the common goal of the organization as well as
what strengths and abilities each team member should hold. Building a team for a growing
organization takes a lot of thoughts and research in order to make the team and business thrive
(Mindtools.com, 2015). The first stage of the team building is the forming stage, this is where
the members all become acquainted with one another and the goals and objectives are set. This is
where the members will propose ideas that will help the Health Care Inc. become more
competitive. The second stage is the storming stage where the team members will have to
overcome any diversity or conflicts that will arise so that they can move ahead and continue to
brainstorm. The team members need to make amends during this stage in order to move on to the
next stage to have a team of unity. By the third stage, group members are occupied in active
acknowledgment of all members contributions and solving of group issues. Members are willing to

The Effect Of Birth Order On Personality
For many years, there s been an ongoing debate as to whether birth order truly has an effect on the
way we behave throughout our development. The article I ve selected argues against the notion that
these two correlate. The sample can be found at PNAS.org, otherwise known as the Proceedings of
the National Academy of the United States of America. Titled, Examining the Effects of Birth Order
on Personality three authors collectively come to this agreement that there are no lasting effects
from birth order in long term personality traits. The names of these authors are, Julia M. Roher,
Boris Eglaff, and Stefan C. Schmukle. They explore previous research on the subject from various
psychologists, and later decide to conduct their own research and draw conclusions thereafter.
I found the article to be very straightforward in its approach. The subject matter was presented
clearly within the opening sentences. Each point was elaborated thoroughly, and it was written in a
way both professionals, and average readers could comprehend the language. The terms were
relatively relatable, no advanced medical terminology was mentioned, and evidence was given for
each argument presented in their research. Statistics and table charts played a significant role in
demonstrating credibility of the findings.
There were three distinct points made in contrast to birth order affecting personality. Age, sibship
size, and family design. Age was a contributing factor in terms of long standing

Folk Culture In Bell Hooks s Let The Good Times Roll
With our modern day technology and ever changing society, it is important to keep folk cultures
alive and not allow them to slip away. Piecing it all Together by bell hooks describes how she
remembers her grandmother patiently and skillfully telling the story of her life through the art of
sewing a tedious quilt. Chris Rose in his article Let the Good Times Roll depicts the tragedy,

their heritage and traditions. Folk cultures are the backbones that shape and mold every individual
during their lifetime blending together traditions and skills, foods, beliefs, heritage and shared
values that are taught and/or passed down from generation to generation, providing a common

In today s world, hardly any species of wildlife become extinct from natural causes. Europeans hunt
animals to such an extent that we classify it as overhunting. We destroy their habitat, and introduce
other animals that are a threat to endangered animals or are competition for resources and food.
Habitat destruction is the greatest threat to both animals and plants.
Deforestation of rainforests as such, physically kills of plant species, and these plants and the
environment they form are the habitats that are vastly inhabited by all types of living matter, from
elephants in the African jungles, to the beetles that live in logs. An approximation of extinct
species of mammals would be about 60, since 1600. 125 species of birds have also become extinct
since then. Currently, there are around 1000 to 1100 species of birds and mammals that are facing
extinction, or on the brink of extinction. Including plants and invertebrates too would bring this
number to 20 000. This is solely to do with the fact that Europeans use whatever land available to
make way for industrial, commercial and residential use.

of gum trees, contain flammable oils. Dead leaves and some branches fall of these trees and
gather on the ground for prolonged periods of time, which form a kind of fuel for bushfires.

What Is The Mood Of The Poem Blackberry-Picking
In the poem Blackberry Picking, the author discusses the harshness of life by describing his
experience picking blackberries. While the poem is rather dark, he maintains the message that
childish hopes still exist despite the continual blockade of reality.
In the first stanza, Heaney describes the berry picking as a rather unimportant task. The blackberries
represent the hope and excitement that summer is: summer s blood was in it (6). The childish
hopefulness is expressed in the conversational tone, created by the syntax found within the rhythm.
The author organizes the sentences in a way that varies the stressed and unstressed syllable to keep
the experience of berry picking casual and light.
The rhyme scheme of AABB keeps a sense of organized structure throughout the poem.
The author often includes slant rhyme to eliminate the sing song pattern many poems have: for
/hunger (7 8).
The use of descriptive diction allows the reader to clearly visualize the experience. The clear
imagery of the berry s flesh (5) sweetened like thickened wine ... Show more content on

enough to search for even when wet grass bleached our boots (10), displays a depressing picture
of the world around us. Although human possessions, in this case the berries, do not live forever,

Jack And Lord Of The Flies Essay
My Chinese Literature teacher told me, Everyone is special as they born in this world, but people

Hellenistic Miletus Research Paper
The Milesian system was structured originally on six tribes, but when they changed to a more
democratic system under Athenian influence they changed over to 12 tribes. It is highly
probable that they submitted their candidates for offices from these tribes. In order to become a
citizen one had to be enrolled in these tribes. Milesian territory was broken up into 5 or 7 demes
or districts. The earliest officials mentioned in decrees of Hellenistic Miletus are the synedroi,
whose status is not clear. They have been considered as either a standing committee of the city
council or as an ad hoc commission created to deal with specific problems. cg p. 67 They worked
with other city officials and institutions and were possibly responsible to the assembly. In the third
century there were around 75 members, which was reduced down to 10 in the late second century.
However, it is hard to know how frequent and the dates that the assembly met, but it is probable
that the assembly met at least once a month. It is also probable that they held special sessions that

Miletus started under the influence of Athens, but with time and the influence of Alcibiades and

throughout the war. However, there was some confusion of who was in control and attempts to
throw out these powers from Miletus. Sparta in 405 BC helped change Miletus back to an

Dnp Ethical Dilemmas
Waxman (2013) challenges DNP nurses and students to have a clear understanding of the
financial health of organizations and learn to speak the language of finance, being able to clearly
articulate the financial impact when building their case for change, and being able to read
financial statements (Waxman, 2013, p. xiii). It is the purpose of this paper to discuss some of the
key financial skills DNP s need to function effectively in today s health care marketplace including
general points in relation to accountability and budgeting, long range financial planning, budget
items to be included in the transition to a wellness clinic practice, and an exploration of ethics and
DNP essentials as they relate to budget and finance. In response to the need... Show more content on

In the second AACN essential for the doctor of nursing practice (DNP), DNPs are challenged to
understand principles of practice management including balancing productivity with quality of
care. Learning to sustain change at the organizational and policy level, DNP education is geared
to provide DNP students with the education to address changes in the ever more complex
healthcare marketplace, address emerging practice problems and the ethical dilemmas that emerge
as new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies evolve (AACN, 2006). Additionally, the AACN
discusses the role of the DNP in changing organizational and professional culture and navigating
the financial aspects of a system to support the integration of evidence based practices In addition,
DNP graduates have the ability to evaluate the cost effectiveness of care and use principles of

Laminar Flow and Convective Heat Transfer of Water-Alumina...
Laminar flow and convective heat transfer of water/alumina nanofluid inside horizontal annuli with
a streamwise moving inner cylinder are investigated theoretically. Employed model for alumina
/water nanofluid is the modified two component four equation non homogeneous equilibrium model
that fully accounts for the effects of nanoparticles volume fraction distribution. Aiming to consider
the effects of thermal boundary conditions on nanoparticles migration, two cases including constant
heatflux at the outer wall and insulated inner wall (Case A) and constant heat flux at the inner wall
with insulated outer wall (Case B) have been considered. The numerical results obtained indicated
that the thermal boundary conditions at the pipe walls are significantly affecting the nanoparticle
volume fraction distribution particularly in the cases where the ratio of Brownian motion to
thermophoretic diffusivities is small. Moreover, increasing the velocity of the moving inner
cylinder reduce the heat transferrate for case A. In this case nanoparticles migration has negative
effects on the performance of the heat transfer system as it decreases the heat transfer rate. In
contrast, in case B, movement of the inner cylinder enhance the heat transfer rate and anomalous
heat transfer enhancement take place when the thermophoretic force is dominant (larger
nanoparticles).
Nanoparticles volume fraction distribution developed under the mutual effects of thermophoretic
and Brownian motion forces.

How To Break A Social Norm
I brainstormed and contemplated about what social norm I should break in order to achieve this
assignment. I fathom the idea that some social norms and expectations would be quite difficult to
accomplish. Surprisingly, without much thought I knew exactly what norm I wanted to break. I
decided to break the well known concept that each gendermust go to the restroom in their
designated restroom area. I planned on starting the assignment by choosing a few public restrooms
in which I would enter the men s restroom. That particular behavior breaks a social norm because
with most public restrooms; genders are separated by signs or names. Thus, there should be no
reason why men or women end up going into the same restroom. I personally believe that... Show

When I entered the men s restroom, I acted as if I were using the bathroom in one of the stalls.
Pretty soon I overheard two young men enter. After they shut their stalls, I flushed my toilet and
started to rinse my hands. The men finished and came out of their stalls at the same time. They
both froze and looked directly at me. They looked like UNC Charlotte students. One of them
stated, what the f*ck? The other guy laughed, and asked me if I knew I was in the wrong
restroom. I stated that I did know. His response was, why would you come in here? I told him, I
needed to use the restroom, is it wrong for a lady to use the men s restroom? They both laughed
and the other guy asked if it was a prank. Right when that question was asked, an older man
entered the restroom. When the man saw all of us in there, he looked confused and decided to
walk right back out. At that point I told the two guys speaking to me that I did it for a school
assignment. We all laughed again and then the young man I was speaking with mostly, asked for
my number. I politely declined and left the restaurant afterwards.
Breaking the social norm was definitely interesting seeing that I did not fully know what to
expect. Overall I was kind of nervous at first but I knew it had to be done. I liked how the two
young men had a good sense of humor about it as well. Aside from it being an assignment, I would

I Have For My Remix Project
For my Remix project, I have done the blog kind of think that helps the students what they
should do while they are in college. I have seen so many students in Michigan State
University(MSU) who feel pretty stressed out about their studies. I think that is because so
many people do not do the things that they suppose to do. The other reason I have selected this
topic to do the remix on, is that I have seen one of my friends go though this, I mean he was
about the drop out of the college, but he changed his life style totally. Like, he started going to
class and taking notes and all other things. I have used Storify, which is one of the best platforms
for writing the blogs. I have used this website because I was familiar with it and I knew how to use
it.
For this remix project, my audience was the group of people who want to do well in college like
high school students, and other group of people who are thinking about dropping the college or
even feeling stressed out (I also consider some international students too). I tried to make the blog
as funny as I can. I mean the reason for that is if you go online and try to find this type of article
that talks about the same topic as mine, you probably end up with boring article. The article that
I used to do the remix on was the most boring article and it also talks about this type of topic
which clearly makes it much more boring that is why I decided to add some pictures and some
GIF things so that I can attract number of people.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Mlk Letter To Birmingham Jail
Dr. Martin Luther King letter was a statement on why the city is trying to change the segregation
laws. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an activist leader in the African American Civil Rights
Movement and apart of Southern Leadership Council. Dr. King Letter from Birmingham Jail
composed this writing which is known as the most important writing during the civil rights period.
This letter aided the movement s trials and tribulations that were endured by the negro community
on their fight for equality. Dr. King speaks out about his plan of nonviolent approach to settle
racial conflicts among the community. Detailing each rhetorical device in this letter, Dr. King s
work became a crucial element in projection to end segregation. Dr. King makes use of logos in
the writing of his letter. The logic approach he uses is when he ensures his agreement and reasons

The Civil Rights Movement And The African American Freedom...
However, Soundtrack For A Revolution only shows half of what the Civil Rights Movement is
about. This documentary fails to show the Armed resistance aspect of the African American
Freedom struggle. As the documentary shows the nonviolent part of the Civil Rights Movement it
leaves out how important the role of armed resistance was in the African Americanfreedom struggle.
It unsuccessfully shows how armed resistance made the Civil Rights Movement possible and
protected many civil rights leaders such a Martin Luther King. Soundtrack For A Revolution does
not demonstrate how gun owners protected institutions of the movement like churches and freedom
house nor does it explain how nonviolent protesters would ve been driven out of town without
armed resistance. Armed resistance was a vital part of the Civil Rights Movement and the failure to
include it in the documentary does not accurately represent the African American freedom struggle.
While on the subject of nonviolence, Soundtrack For A Revolution also does a good job in utilizing
many important civil rights activists who were apart of the nonviolent movement, some of which
are SCLC and SCLC members, John Lewis, and Martin Luther King. Although conversely, the film
exhibits the myth of the Civil Rights Movement being King Centric. The documentary focuses on
many facts of Martin Luther King s life including, his involvement in Southern Christian Leadership

Metaphors Of A Magnifico By Wallace Stevens Essay
Modernist poetry is too abstract to convey any meaningful social or political message. Do you
agree?
Modernist poetry is not too abstract to convey any meaningful social or political message
because it depends on the readers how they read it or analysis it. If the readers read the poem
carefully and think afar, then the poem conveys meaningful social and political messages.
However, the poem Metaphors of a Magnifico by Wallace Stevens convey both social and
political messages where the social message that he conveys to the reader is to work in group
rather than working individual in the society and the political message that the poet conveys to the
readers is that in order to write a book or poem, the author or the poet needs to borrow the ... Show

The beginning of the poem visibly tells us the social meaning that the poet conveys to the
readers. The line from the text Twenty men crossing a bridge, into a village, Are twenty men
crossing twenty bridges, into twenty villages (Harmonium, 1923) visibly tell us that the poet is
trying to convey the readers that in order to have a good and better community, the people in the
community have to work together. The line from the text Or one man crossing a single bridge into
a village (Harmonium, 1923) informs the readers that the ideas of twenty people are better
compared to idea of a single person. The poet uses the tone of numerical exactness in order to

the poem where the poet is comparing single man with twenty men. The line from the text This

Renaissance Period Research Paper
The Renaissance Period Lasting for a little more than a century, the Renaissance took a huge
leap from the art of the Middle Ages. Focus shifted from the intangible religious world to the
tangible real world. However, religious art did not die out. Instead, it too became more realistic
looking as new techniques emerged. Perspective now played an immense role in much of art, as
did the three dimensional portrayal of human figures. Also, it became extremely fashionable to be
multi skilled. To be skilled in many arts or trades was to be a Renaissanceman. Three pieces of art
exemplify this pivotal era: Jan van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding , Michelangelos Pieta , and Leonardo
da Vincis Mona Lisa . First is Arnolfini Wedding by Jan van Eyck.

Look at the difference! Mr. Rochester urges Mr. Woods and Mr. Briggs to compare Jane Eyre s

Example Of Campaign Finance Reform
Campaign Finance Reform It is time that the voters are the only one s deciding elections.
Candidates should be running on issues, not money. They should not be allowed to get money
from wealthy investors, who keep the playing field unlevel. Any person who wants to run for
office, and is qualified to run for office, should be able to regardless if they have a lot of money to
set up a campaign or not. It is time for Campaign Finance Reform. The Fair ElectionsNow Act was
introduced by Senator Durbin of Illinois in February 2014, and it would change the way
Congressional candidates can finance their elections. The Act stipulates that qualified
Congressional candidates would earn grants, matching funds, and television vouchers based on a
minimum amount of small dollar contributions from their local community (Durbin, 2015). This
bill has still not been adopted, or accepted into law. This type of campaign finance reform is
needed for Presidential elections as well. I think reform of the American political system is
possible. There are many movements right now that have already begun to raise awareness of the...

Air Pollution Is An Unavoidable Mixture Of Substances That...
Air pollution is an unavoidable mixture of substances that we breathe in. There is no way to
escape air pollution nowadays since it can be encountered indoors as well as outdoors. The type
of pollution we breathe in can be divided between indoor and outdoor by the different types of air
pollution that are released in these environments. Fine particles such as burning fossil fuels (such
that come from traffic and energy production), tobacco smoke, and chemical vapors are found in
the air breathed in from outdoors, while solvents (such as found in household cleaners and
products), mold, and carbon monoxide are sadly breathed in from within homes and businesses on
a daily basis.
There is no question to anyone s mind that these air pollutants cause harmful effects to one s health.
Studies have been conducted to link air pollution to the hundreds of ailments that many men,
women and children have suffered over the years. Cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses are
without a doubt caused by air pollution as studies have shown. Today there are studies showing that
Autism is linked to air pollution. The purpose of this paper is a review of the current state of

Why Is Gord Downie Significant To Canadian History
Gord Downie was a proud Canadian, rock musician, writer, and activist. He was the lead singer
and songwriter for the The Tragically Hip, from Kingston Ontario, which he began in 1984 and
proudly fronted in until his death in 2017. Gord Downie is significant to Canadian history because
he has raised awareness for Indigenous peoples, helped gain substantial amounts of donation for
cancer research, and wrote songs about Canadaand its history.
To begin, Gord Downie is significant to Canadian history because he made Indigenous issues
more prevalent to Canada s modern day society. To start, Gord Downie helped bring awareness to
Indigenous people by writing a book and an album about their struggles called The Secret Path

Their songs not only spotlighted Canadian stories, but did so in a unique, unconventional, often

convicted of the rape and murder of a woman. Milgaard stayed in jail for 22 years, and then
finally was let out because he was proven not guilty(6).This is significant because The Tragically
Hip are perceived as a Canada loving band, and though they are, they still write and sing about
controversial issues and have critiqued Canada when our nation does wrong. Another song that
was written about Canadian history is Fifty Mission Cap . This song was written about Bill
Barilko, a Toronto Maple leaf player who had scored the winning goal for Toronto s first Stanley
Cup. Barilko, later on that year went on a fishing trip, but his plane crashed on the way home. He
was found dead 11 years after(9). The song talks about important moments in Canadian sports
history, which touches the hearts and is relevant to the large population of people who are
passionate about hockey. To continue, Gord Downie wrote a song called Three pistols . This song
was written about Tom Thomson, a Canadian painter who the founder of the famous Canadian
painting group called The Group Of Seven. Thomson was out at Algonquin Park on Canoe Lake,
painting and canoeing and was later found dead due to drowning. From then on, there have been
many conspiracy theories about his death(8). This song is relevant to Canadians that are passionate
about art and art history because there are so few songs that are about art, not to mention Canadian
art. Overall, Gord Downie told Canadian history throughout his music, and touched on contrasting
Canadian topics, solidifying his significance to

The merger of global brewing giant InBev with Anheuser Busch created an even more dominant
global brewer, Anheuser Busch InBev. Since the merger in 2008 there were a variety of notable
pros and cons I plan to share with you today. First and foremost, the merger of InBev with
Anheuser Busch created the world s largest brewer with leading abilities to distribute all across the
globe. In addition, this merger increased sales, stock prices skyrocketed, and earnings and profit
margins rose steadily. Although the merger brought some great advantages to the table for

All The Bright Places By Jennifer Niven
All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
1.Making Personal Connections.
All The Bright Places is a story about love and depression, where a boy, Finch, helps Violet find
the will to live, while he has trouble keeping his head above water. My family has gone through the
stress, anger and sadness of depression, too: my cousin, Mitch, committed suicide by hanging
himself. Although it has been two years, the pain has still not completely gone away.
Violet Markey has lost her older sister (and best friend) in a fatal car crash on an icy bridge. She
is overwhelmed by guilt, as she was the one who begged her sister to take her home, and told her
to take the shortcut, ultimately leading to Eleanor s death. When this happens, she loses friends
and is afraid to make any, afraid she will lose them too. After losing Mitch, I also lost my Nana
and Papa (grandmother and grandfather). My cousin, Dimity had bowel cancer and although
she is alive and well now, it is still scary to think how close we were to losing her. This made me
realize, unlike other people my age, how close death is in our everyday lives, and, unlike
cartoon character, we cannot peel ourselves from the rubble and complete our quest or journey.
Losing some of the major people in my life has, just like Violet, made me scared to let go of
people and even more scared of letting them into my heart. However, just like with Violet, her
friends help her world to grow.

comparison to exploration and production, BP made the decision to reduce its interests in refining

merger was the production of petrochemicals. BP had operations for this segment more
widespread than the others and distributed to over 60 countries. Amoco, on the other hand,

The Death Of Trotsky By David Ives
Violence has been a part of plays for centuries. It keeps the play interesting and intriguing, but
however, most of the time there is a greater purpose of violence. When looking for it in plays one
would automatically look for weapons or signs of physically harming someone like. However,
verbiage can be an act of violenceas well. The phrase, sticks and stones may break my bones, but
words will never hurt me is false. Your tongue has no bones, but is strong enough to hurt another
person. Like in the playThe Stronger by August Strindbergwhere Miss Y is verbally insulted
countless of times. Whereas in the play Variations on the Death of Trotsky by David Ives one can
see the physical violence by the tragic murder that occurred. After distinguishing where the violence
is coming from one can then analyze the true role of the violence and compare how the violence
affect the dramas.
When looking at The Stronger you can see just how Miss Y in verbally insulted over and over
again by Mrs. X. While Miss Y is just sitting at a table by herself minding her own business when
Mrs. X shows up. During the entire play Miss Y does not say one word while Mrs. X insults her
and says rude things like, Poor Amelia, I pity you, nevertheless, because I knew you are
unhappy, unhappy like one who has been wounded, and angry because you are wounded. () She
just assumes that she is unhappy because she is in a cafГ© by herself on a holiday. She does not

transformation to be inclusive of every American s health care needs. In particular, ACA has
dramatically increased contraceptive coverage for women. Under the ACA s contraceptive

United States must cover at least one form of contraception in each of the of the 18 methods as

Democrats will support the additional coverage for men. The major health care industry players
such as insurers, employers, and conservative states, may push against strengthening the mandate
because of the extra cost they may incur as a side effect. On the other hand, progressive states,
physicians, hospitals, condom companies, and advocacy groups will likely advocate for the

How Is Lady Macbeth s Vaulting Ambition
Ambition is typically seen as a pathway to success, yet in the play Macbeth by William
Shakespeare, it is clearly evident that this is not always the case. As the play progresses, Macbeth
s overall aspirations in order to become king are continually tested. By looking at his overall
motives, the adverse choices which reshape his destiny, and the fatal conclusions based on his
insufficient decisions, we can clearly see how vaulting ambitions can be destructive rather than
beneficial. To begin, Macbethhas many motives which persuade him towards becoming king.

The Effect Of Milk And Milk Of Magnesia On Seed Germination
Background
A seed is the plants way of reproducing and allows the plant to produce plants of the same kind. A
seed is a developing plant that is bounded by a seed coat that covers the seed and usually has stored
food and nutrients inside. Seeds allow the plant to reproduce so they don t become extinct. Radish
seeds are rapid growing seeds that grow best in full sunlight with their own space, soil with a pH
level of 6.5 7, water with a pH level of 7, and cool/moist soil. Lemonade has a pH level of 2.5 and
is acidic, so the seed most likely will grow at a very slow rate compared to a seed with normal tap
water. Milk of magnesia has a pH level of 10.5 which is more basic and higher than the pH level
of water, the substance radish seeds grow best in. Therefore, the milk of magnesia might be too
strong for the seeds and will cause them to either grow extremely slow or not at all. The effect of
lemonade and milk of magnesia on seed germination can be measured by using a ruler and
measuring the sprout growth of each seed in centimeters daily.
Question
Will lemonade and milk of magnesia affect radish seed germination and growth?
Hypothesis
If I have 5ml of lemonade and 5ml of milk of magnesia and dilute each liquid with 5ml of tap water
and apply each solution twice to ten radish seeds, I believe the seeds will grow at a slower rate than
radish seeds with 10ml of tap water.

Realism In Tony Kushner s Angels In America
Angels in America: Millennium Approaches by Tony Kushner can be conventionally defined as
a work of Theatricalism. Breaking the preconceived notions of theatre such as gender casting,
fluent scenes, and varying extremes ranging from characters, to visuals, to the introduction of
historical figures. However, the work strikes a note of realism. We find ourselves encompassed
by passionate actors sharing real emotions with us, scenes based in historical events, and
characters placed in events that we then find to be our own realities. While we find our realities
to be true and heightened by those in the work could it be possible that some of these characters
realities are in fact false, or being defined by the theatricality that surrounds them? Harper serves

shortly after we see Harper in her cold place Joe commits what we know to be his first sexual act

the ability to create it s bounds and limitations, which is unique and signifies that she is other

The West of the U.S. started off from the west of the Mississippi all the way to the west coast. With all the open land and the people in the west, legends and stories are being made throughout time, and these stories are for the future generation to hear about the adventurous time of the Wild Wild West. From the beginning of time, people have told stories of their adventures, survival, the crazy gunfights, and the danger they been through in the west. Most of these stories and tales starts off at campfires, where is told to friends and families about their experience. Sometimes these tales were true, others exaggerations, and occasionally nothing more than some crazy tales which seems too good or too outrageous to be true. The more interesting part of these tales were passed along from friends to friends and from one generation to the next, and along the way the tales grows stronger to the point they became legends and urban myths. Rhetorical Analysis OfLGBT Discrimination And The Advocates Losing rights for being one s self Even though fellow Americans use the constitution as an excuse to discriminate against LGBT peoples and women because of their freedom of speech, the civil rights act should protect all LGBT communities and women. John Oliver s LGBT Discrimination and The Advocates The Equality Act is Necessary demonstrates that all Americans should be treated as equals and not discriminated against because of Color, Race, Sex, or National Origin. Have you ever thought that progress would move backwards? Even though the gay rights movement is gaining back the respect and rights of gay people, it should go even further than that. The Sidewalk RacerAnalysis Views of Being Alone The two poems and the passage I read are alike. The characters in the poems The Sidewalk Racer , When I Read , and the character in a passage from Z for Zachariah have different point of views. There are similarities and differences in the way the characters view being alone. First, in the poem, The Sidewalk Racer by Lillian Morrison, the author addresses the meaning of being alone by writing about someone who is riding a skateboard and likes being alone. In the poem the speaker says, I m the one and only single engine human automobile. This has meaning. If the rider was riding with someone, they wouldn t be the one and only. Because of this, I think this person enjoys being alone. Because the author wrote in a positive tone, I think the character likes it. This person is obviously excited about what she does. This person views themselves as superior when they re alone I suppose. Second, in the poem, When I Read by Lillian Morrison, the author addresses the meaning of being alone by writing about someone who runs but reads books. They like to be alone in my opinion. She uses the words at first . Earlier in the passage, she can see someone gradually getting closer to her land, she thinks about how if he doesn t come, she d be okay. She was afraid of him. And for most people, formal organizations represent a major part of the environment that exerts a significant effect upon their behavior. To represent individual in an organization, we must look into organization as a social system. 1.Social System a. It is a human activity and, at the same time, it is a group of people. Its existence is by deliberating design and not by accidents. It exists because of an objective which it seeks to attain effectively and efficiently. Concepts of an Organization An organization is a structural process in which persons interact for objectives. This view of organization contains several important points: 1.The organization is always made up of people. 2.The people in organizations interact; that is, the people in the organization are related to one another in some way. 3.The interactions of people are ordered by some structure that can be described. 4.The structured interactions are designed to achieve the personal objectives of the people interacting. In other words, people join and/or participate in organizations in order to achieve their own objectives. 5.The interactions which result in the achievement of personal objective of any member. The Organization Context A complete understanding of organizational behavior requires both an understanding of human behavior and the understanding of the organization context within which human behavior is acted out. Abortion for UnderageChildren Should Require Parental... Underage people are prohibiting smoking, drinking, or going in field trips without their parents permission. Therefore, how can a teenage girl have an abortion without the approval of her parents? Abortion itself is a controversial subject, and underage abortion is even more controversial. Minors should not have an abortionwithout the consent of their parents or their legal guardians for a variety of reasons. First, most adolescents are not mature enough to make decisions that will change their lives forever. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius state, Some older adolescents have the cognitive ability and capacity to reason similarly to an adult. However, neuroimaging studies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Parents must be included in their children s decisions because parents can influence their children in a significant way. For instance, parental consent laws reduce the minor abortion rate by 19 percent (qtd. in Davis). A 2008 study done by Michael J. New, Ph.D. shows that parental involvement laws reduce the abortion rate among 17 years old by 18.3 percent, among 16 years old by 14.3 percent, and among 15 years old by 8.6 percent (qtd. in Davis). These statistics show that the states that require parental involvement laws the abortion rates decline greatly. Sometimes, teens want to have an abortion because they are afraid of their parents. However, if the law requires minors to inform their parents about their pregnancy and the possibility of an abortion, their parents will be able to help them. If a teen does not inform her parents about her being pregnant, this teen will never know if her parents would have been supportive and guide her through this difficult process. Finally, the most crucial reason to why parental consent laws for abortion should be legal is the potential medical dangerous that can occur before and after an abortion (Earll). Parents that are aware of their children desire to have an abortion and support their children s decisions can provide important medical history to a physician (Christian Med.). Power In StephenFrears Film, The Queen And Shakespeare s... Power is the ability to manipulate and control whatever one desires, to do what one pleases to do, without answering to authority. Political authority and power play an extensive role in both Stephen Frears Film, The Queen and Shakespeare s play, King Lear. Frears explores the theme of power through, Queen Elizabeth II, a hardline traditionalist who is blinded by old world protocols and traditions all but failing to see the transfer in balance of power. Similarly, Shakespeare explores the theme through the protagonist Lear, a king fascinated with grand showings of his sovereignty by staging and arranging situations that praise his ego. The very nature of power is in fact hazardous and has the ability to devour those who wield it,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The emotive grandstanding language illustrates the dynamic prominence of exercising power imprudently and in haste. However, in contrast to The Queen, Lear s transference of political authority to his daughters is on the prerequisite of flattery with an over exaggerated speech which must appeal and appease his ego: Which of you shall we say doth love us most, that we our largest bounty may extend. (Act 1.1.45 50) Lear s actions have afforded his daughters the opportunity to take advantage of him. This strengthens Shakespeare s theme of power, that authority is nothing more than a show and a display of status through language and verbal praise. In addition, Frears demonstrates the fragility of power and where leadership is vehement when Princess Diana is killed. The Queen loses some informal authority torn between old world protocols and customs, remarking that, This isn t a matter of state, it s a private matter. Bipolar Disorder AndManic Depressive Disorder Bipolar disorder, previously manic depressive disorder, is a disorder that has a myriad common misconceptions surrounding it within the general public. Unless one has taken the time to research what Bipolar Disorder is/entails or is suffering from the disorder itself, knowledge about the disorder typically comes from hearsay. Before reading Kay Redfield Jamison s novel, most of what I knew or had learned about Bipolar Disorder was from other individuals. I knew it was some form of disorder but the details eluded me. Many times you will hear teenagers say things like Oh, she is so bipolar when a friend shifts from happy one minute to mad the next or The weather is so bipolar when it shifts from sunny to raining rapidly. From this, I assumed that Bipolar Disorder had something to do with a rapid shift in moods. However, other than looking up on one occasion whether Bipolar Disorder and Manic Depressive Disorder are the same thing, I did not pay much more attention to what Bipolar Disorder was or what those suffering from the disorder dealt with on a daily basis. It was not until I came to college where we briefly covered the disorder in classes, like intro, and read Jamison s memoir for another course that I really began to understand what Bipolar Disorder is and how it affects those who suffer from it. After having read Jamison s memoir, the life of those suffering with Bipolar Disorder became a little easier to imagine. It most certainly is not an easy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Building Blocks OfA Team Building Blocks of a Team When it comes time to build an effective team for a growing organization, the first and most important step is to determine what work will be done. The second step is to analyze and create a plan to define the goals and objectives, by defining specific roles and tasks you will ensure that there are no responsibilities being overlapped that could cause problems and tension down the road. Once the goals have been defined, the next step is to choose the individuals that will best support the common goal of the organization as well as what strengths and abilities each team member should hold. Building a team for a growing organization takes a lot of thoughts and research in order to make the team and business thrive (Mindtools.com, 2015). The first stage of the team building is the forming stage, this is where the members all become acquainted with one another and the goals and objectives are set. This is where the members will propose ideas that will help the Health Care Inc. become more competitive. The second stage is the storming stage where the team members will have to overcome any diversity or conflicts that will arise so that they can move ahead and continue to brainstorm. The team members need to make amends during this stage in order to move on to the next stage to have a team of unity. By the third stage, group members are occupied in active acknowledgment of all members contributions and solving of group issues. Members are willing to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Effect OfBirth Order On Personality For many years, there s been an ongoing debate as to whether birth order truly has an effect on the way we behave throughout our development. The article I ve selected argues against the notion that these two correlate. The sample can be found at PNAS.org, otherwise known as the Proceedings of the National Academy of the United States of America. Titled, Examining the Effects of Birth Order on Personality three authors collectively come to this agreement that there are no lasting effects from birth order in long term personality traits. The names of these authors are, Julia M. Roher, Boris Eglaff, and Stefan C. Schmukle. They explore previous research on the subject from various psychologists, and later decide to conduct their own research and draw conclusions thereafter. I found the article to be very straightforward in its approach. The subject matter was presented clearly within the opening sentences. Each point was elaborated thoroughly, and it was written in a way both professionals, and average readers could comprehend the language. The terms were relatively relatable, no advanced medical terminology was mentioned, and evidence was given for each argument presented in their research. Statistics and table charts played a significant role in demonstrating credibility of the findings. There were three distinct points made in contrast to birth order affecting personality. One such example would be the way each use their land and how they manage it, and different land uses stem from different values and morals. The biggest difference is that aborigines think of their environment and its inhabitants no lower than themselves, they live with the environment, take care of it, preserving the balance of ecosystems. Habitat destruction is the greatest threat to both animals and plants. Deforestation of rainforests as such, physically kills of plant species, and these plants and the environment they form are the habitats that are vastly inhabited by all types of living matter, from elephants in the African jungles, to the beetles that live in logs. What Is TheMood Of The Poem Blackberry-Picking In the poem Blackberry Picking, the author discusses the harshness of life by describing his experience picking blackberries. While the poem is rather dark, he maintains the message that childish hopes still exist despite the continual blockade of reality. In the first stanza, Heaney describes the berry picking as a rather unimportant task. The blackberries represent the hope and excitement that summer is: summer s blood was in it (6). The childish hopefulness is expressed in the conversational tone, created by the syntax found within the rhythm. The author organizes the sentences in a way that varies the stressed and unstressed syllable to keep the experience of berry picking casual and light. The rhyme scheme of AABB keeps a sense of organized structure throughout the poem. The author often includes slant rhyme to eliminate the sing song pattern many poems have: for /hunger (7 8). The use of descriptive diction allows the reader to clearly visualize the experience. The clear imagery of the berry s flesh (5) sweetened like thickened wine ... Laminar Flow andConvective Heat Transfer of Water-Alumina... Laminar flow and convective heat transfer of water/alumina nanofluid inside horizontal annuli with a streamwise moving inner cylinder are investigated theoretically. Employed model for alumina /water nanofluid is the modified two component four equation non homogeneous equilibrium model that fully accounts for the effects of nanoparticles volume fraction distribution. Aiming to consider the effects of thermal boundary conditions on nanoparticles migration, two cases including constant heatflux at the outer wall and insulated inner wall (Case A) and constant heat flux at the inner wall with insulated outer wall (Case B) have been considered. The numerical results obtained indicated that the thermal boundary conditions at the pipe walls are significantly affecting the nanoparticle volume fraction distribution particularly in the cases where the ratio of Brownian motion to thermophoretic diffusivities is small. Moreover, increasing the velocity of the moving inner cylinder reduce the heat transferrate for case A. In this case nanoparticles migration has negative effects on the performance of the heat transfer system as it decreases the heat transfer rate. In contrast, in case B, movement of the inner cylinder enhance the heat transfer rate and anomalous heat transfer enhancement take place when the thermophoretic force is dominant (larger nanoparticles). His response was, why would you come in here? I told him, I needed to use the restroom, is it wrong for a lady to use the men s restroom? They both laughed and the other guy asked if it was a prank. Right when that question was asked, an older man entered the restroom. When the man saw all of us in there, he looked confused and decided to walk right back out. At that point I told the two guys speaking to me that I did it for a school assignment. We all laughed again and then the young man I was speaking with mostly, asked for my number. I politely declined and left the restaurant afterwards. Breaking the social norm was definitely interesting seeing that I did not fully know what to expect. Overall I was kind of nervous at first but I knew it had to be done. I liked how the two young men had a good sense of humor about it as well. I Have ForMy Remix Project For my Remix project, I have done the blog kind of think that helps the students what they should do while they are in college. I have seen so many students in Michigan State University(MSU) who feel pretty stressed out about their studies. I think that is because so many people do not do the things that they suppose to do. The other reason I have selected this topic to do the remix on, is that I have seen one of my friends go though this, I mean he was about the drop out of the college, but he changed his life style totally. Like, he started going to class and taking notes and all other things. I have used Storify, which is one of the best platforms for writing the blogs. I have used this website because I was familiar with it and I knew how to use it. For this remix project, my audience was the group of people who want to do well in college like high school students, and other group of people who are thinking about dropping the college or even feeling stressed out (I also consider some international students too). I tried to make the blog as funny as I can. I mean the reason for that is if you go online and try to find this type of article that talks about the same topic as mine, you probably end up with boring article. The article that I used to do the remix on was the most boring article and it also talks about this type of topic which clearly makes it much more boring that is why I decided to add some pictures and some GIF things so that I can attract number of people. ... The Civil RightsMovement And The African American Freedom... However, Soundtrack For A Revolution only shows half of what the Civil Rights Movement is about. This documentary fails to show the Armed resistance aspect of the African American Freedom struggle. As the documentary shows the nonviolent part of the Civil Rights Movement it leaves out how important the role of armed resistance was in the African Americanfreedom struggle. It unsuccessfully shows how armed resistance made the Civil Rights Movement possible and protected many civil rights leaders such a Martin Luther King. Soundtrack For A Revolution does not demonstrate how gun owners protected institutions of the movement like churches and freedom house nor does it explain how nonviolent protesters would ve been driven out of town without armed resistance. Armed resistance was a vital part of the Civil Rights Movement and the failure to include it in the documentary does not accurately represent the African American freedom struggle. While on the subject of nonviolence, Soundtrack For A Revolution also does a good job in utilizing many important civil rights activists who were apart of the nonviolent movement, some of which are SCLC and SCLC members, John Lewis, and Martin Luther King. Although conversely, the film exhibits the myth of the Civil Rights Movement being King Centric. The documentary focuses on many facts of Martin Luther King s life including, his involvement in Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), his view on nonviolence, the bombing of his house, ... Modernist poetry is not too abstract to convey any meaningful social or political message because it depends on the readers how they read it or analysis it. If the readers read the poem carefully and think afar, then the poem conveys meaningful social and political messages. However, the poem Metaphors of a Magnifico by Wallace Stevens convey both social and political messages where the social message that he conveys to the reader is to work in group rather than working individual in the society and the political message that the poet conveys to the readers is that in order to write a book or poem, the author or the poet needs to borrow the ... Renaissance Period ResearchPaper The Renaissance Period Lasting for a little more than a century, the Renaissance took a huge leap from the art of the Middle Ages. Focus shifted from the intangible religious world to the tangible real world. However, religious art did not die out. Instead, it too became more realistic looking as new techniques emerged. Perspective now played an immense role in much of art, as did the three dimensional portrayal of human figures. Also, it became extremely fashionable to be multi skilled. To be skilled in many arts or trades was to be a Renaissanceman. Three pieces of art exemplify this pivotal era: Jan van Eyck s Arnolfini Wedding , Michelangelos Pieta , and Leonardo da Vincis Mona Lisa . First is Arnolfini Wedding by Jan van Eyck. ... Example Of CampaignFinance Reform Campaign Finance Reform It is time that the voters are the only one s deciding elections. Candidates should be running on issues, not money. They should not be allowed to get money from wealthy investors, who keep the playing field unlevel. Any person who wants to run for office, and is qualified to run for office, should be able to regardless if they have a lot of money to set up a campaign or not. It is time for Campaign Finance Reform. The Fair ElectionsNow Act was introduced by Senator Durbin of Illinois in February 2014, and it would change the way Congressional candidates can finance their elections. The Act stipulates that qualified Congressional candidates would earn grants, matching funds, and television vouchers based on a minimum amount of small dollar contributions from their local community (Durbin, 2015). Air Pollution IsAn Unavoidable Mixture Of Substances That... Air pollution is an unavoidable mixture of substances that we breathe in. There is no way to escape air pollution nowadays since it can be encountered indoors as well as outdoors. The type of pollution we breathe in can be divided between indoor and outdoor by the different types of air pollution that are released in these environments. Fine particles such as burning fossil fuels (such that come from traffic and energy production), tobacco smoke, and chemical vapors are found in the air breathed in from outdoors, while solvents (such as found in household cleaners and products), mold, and carbon monoxide are sadly breathed in from within homes and businesses on a daily basis. There is no question to anyone s mind that these air pollutants cause harmful effects to one s health. Studies have been conducted to link air pollution to the hundreds of ailments that many men, women and children have suffered over the years. Cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses are without a doubt caused by air pollution as studies have shown. Today there are studies showing that Autism is linked to air pollution. The purpose of this paper is a review of the current state of knowledge on air pollution and whether it plays a role in children developing autism. All The BrightPlaces By Jennifer Niven All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven 1.Making Personal Connections. All The Bright Places is a story about love and depression, where a boy, Finch, helps Violet find the will to live, while he has trouble keeping his head above water. My family has gone through the stress, anger and sadness of depression, too: my cousin, Mitch, committed suicide by hanging himself. Although it has been two years, the pain has still not completely gone away. Violet Markey has lost her older sister (and best friend) in a fatal car crash on an icy bridge. She is overwhelmed by guilt, as she was the one who begged her sister to take her home, and told her to take the shortcut, ultimately leading to Eleanor s death. When this happens, she loses friends and is afraid to make any, afraid she will lose them too. After losing Mitch, I also lost my Nana and Papa (grandmother and grandfather). My cousin, Dimity had bowel cancer and although she is alive and well now, it is still scary to think how close we were to losing her. This made me realize, unlike other people my age, how close death is in our everyday lives, and, unlike cartoon character, we cannot peel ourselves from the rubble and complete our quest or journey. Losing some of the major people in my life has, just like Violet, made me scared to let go of people and even more scared of letting them into my heart. However, just like with Violet, her friends help her world to grow. Violet is also a writer, and although her words ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Death OfTrotsky By David Ives Violence has been a part of plays for centuries. It keeps the play interesting and intriguing, but however, most of the time there is a greater purpose of violence. When looking for it in plays one would automatically look for weapons or signs of physically harming someone like. However, verbiage can be an act of violenceas well. The phrase, sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me is false. Your tongue has no bones, but is strong enough to hurt another person. Like in the playThe Stronger by August Strindbergwhere Miss Y is verbally insulted countless of times. Whereas in the play Variations on the Death of Trotsky by David Ives one can see the physical violence by the tragic murder that occurred. After distinguishing where the violence is coming from one can then analyze the true role of the violence and compare how the violence affect the dramas. When looking at The Stronger you can see just how Miss Y in verbally insulted over and over again by Mrs. X. While Miss Y is just sitting at a table by herself minding her own business when Mrs. X shows up. The major health care industry players such as insurers, employers, and conservative states, may push against strengthening the mandate because of the extra cost they may incur as a side effect. The Effect OfMilk And Milk Of Magnesia On Seed Germination Background A seed is the plants way of reproducing and allows the plant to produce plants of the same kind. A seed is a developing plant that is bounded by a seed coat that covers the seed and usually has stored food and nutrients inside. Seeds allow the plant to reproduce so they don t become extinct. Radish seeds are rapid growing seeds that grow best in full sunlight with their own space, soil with a pH level of 6.5 7, water with a pH level of 7, and cool/moist soil. Lemonade has a pH level of 2.5 and is acidic, so the seed most likely will grow at a very slow rate compared to a seed with normal tap water. Milk of magnesia has a pH level of 10.5 which is more basic and higher than the pH level of water, the substance radish seeds grow best in. Therefore, the milk of magnesia might be too strong for the seeds and will cause them to either grow extremely slow or not at all. The effect of lemonade and milk of magnesia on seed germination can be measured by using a ruler and measuring the sprout growth of each seed in centimeters daily. Question Will lemonade and milk of magnesia affect radish seed germination and growth? Hypothesis If I have 5ml of lemonade and 5ml of milk of magnesia and dilute each liquid with 5ml of tap water and apply each solution twice to ten radish seeds, I believe the seeds will grow at a slower rate than radish seeds with 10ml of tap water. Realism In TonyKushner s Angels In America Angels in America: Millennium Approaches by Tony Kushner can be conventionally defined as a work of Theatricalism. Breaking the preconceived notions of theatre such as gender casting, fluent scenes, and varying extremes ranging from characters, to visuals, to the introduction of historical figures. However, the work strikes a note of realism. We find ourselves encompassed by passionate actors sharing real emotions with us, scenes based in historical events, and characters placed in events that we then find to be our own realities. While we find our realities to be true and heightened by those in the work could it be possible that some of these characters realities are in fact false, or being defined by the theatricality that surrounds them?
