Essay on Family Relationships in Greek Mythology
Greek Mythology originated around 775 B.C.E. It all started with Homer s Iliad and continued on with
Hesiod s Theogany. These were the first two myths to be recorded in Greek Mythology. Both of these
myths reveal to us about their understanding of the universe, and about their culture. Not only do they
talk about their various gods, and heroes, but they also talk about how they viewed the universe in
general (Rosenberg 79). Greek Mythology evolved from two early civilizations, the Mycenaean s and
the Minoans. It was the combining of these different Greek cities and Kingdoms during 10th century
B.C. that created Greek Mythology. Its Geographic isolation gave it a place for mythologies to evolve

However, Uranus was afraid that Cronus might overpower him and one day obtain all his power.
Knowing this Uranus purposely tried to kill Cronus in multiply occasions, but Gaea would always
protect him. One day Gaea and Cronus made a plan to have Cronus challenge Uranus and take over
his power. So it happened, Cronnus challenged his father and was victorious during their battle and
Uranus was left to rot (Bernard 1) Now Cronus had become king of gods by killing his father Uranus
(Bernard 3). In both Greek and Roman Mythology, the relationship between parents and children are
distorted, strained, and bizarrely transformed, because of their greediness for power and obsessiveness
to be better than the other.
To begin with, the relationship between parents and their children are distorted, because of their
greediness and obsessiveness to be better than the other. In the story of Medea, Medea poisoned her
own children, because she wanted to see her husband suffer the way she suffered after he left her. She
decided they best way to get revenge is by poisoning her children, this way both their children and
Jason s new wife will die of poisoning and Jason will be left all alone in the world with no one to love
him (Rosenberg 204). This clearly shows that the relationship between parents and children is
distorted, because Medea was willing to poison her own children to get revenge on her husband.
Someone who is even willing to do that is twisted and evil in

Leitax Case Analysis
LEITAX CASE ANALYSIS:
QUESTION 1
Digital camera market has enjoyed tremendous growth since it was introduced in the photographic
industry. Starting in 1998, price has been falling rapidly. In addition, the development of CMOS
allowed digital camera to not only capture professional market, but also enter consumer market. It was
estimated that in 2006 forecast would peak with 63% penetration rate for digital cameras in the US.
After 2006, the growth rate was expected to fall negative.
Product lives for digital cameras had been shortened. While an average life was between 17 and 22
months, high end, feature packed products had the shortest life cycle. However, the manufacturing
lead time for digital cameras was long. Taking Leitax for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before, the concept of demand forecast was to serve the key functional groups in achieving their own
interest. Facing the new challenges, forecast needed to be more accurate. And therefore it needed a
new concept that is to have a consensus forecasting that would accurately reveal market demand and
align the needs of key actors in the forecasting process. Leitax implemented two specific changes in
forecasting process. The first one is to switch the focus from sell in to sell through and second one is
to ignore capacity constraints.
QUESTION 3
The mission of the Forecast Re Design Team was to reduce expenses and risks associated with
production and costs of procurement, inventory, quality control and technical infrastructure.
According to Fowler, there were four objectives: (1), to reduce inventory levels across the supply
chain; (2) to increase velocity and accuracy of planning information throughout the supply chain; (3)
to increase supply upside and downside flexibility; and (4) to improve on time performance to
customers.
The projects require individuals who have good technical skills and forecasting and industry
knowledge. But more importantly, it needs people who could help implement the new changes. To be
more specific, the qualities are the leadership abilities to shape an organization and know how to

protagonist of The Hunger Games is Katniss Everdeen. She is exceptionally strong, capable and much
more mature than you would initially expect. Katniss also happens to be extremely resourceful
because she is the head of her household and provides her family with food by hunting and foraging,
skills she learned from her father, who died in a mine explosion a few years ago. Katniss has
tremendous love for her 4 year old sister, Prim, in fact she volunteered to take her place in the annual
Hunger Games. Peeta Mellark Peeta Mellark is the male tribute from district twelve, who also happens
to be in love with Katniss Everdeen and eventually becomes her focal ally and love interest. Peeta is
best described by his immeasurable love for Katniss and his willingness to give up his life for her.
Katniss portrays him as kind hearted and generous because of what he did for her a few years before
the games. A while back, Katniss and her family were starving behind Peeta s family bakery, so her

Connectivity And Topology Of Wireless Networks
Connectivity and topology control: Some approaches tried to improve the system reliability by
carefully designing the connectivity or topology of wireless networks. Paper [50] addresses the
problem of fault tolerant deployment of wireless ad hoc networks. Based on the pre assumed
transmission range, the authors propose a scheme to calculate the probability that a given network is k
connected. Based on the intensive deployment, the redundant sensor nodes are used to cope the
random working nodes failure. Following the similar idea, a distributed algorithm is proposed in [52].
By deploying calculated necessary number of extra nodes in the given network, the objective of fault
tolerant topology control can be achieved. However, due to the limited space and cost constraint,
adding redundant nodes to a deployed WSN may not always be an acceptable solution. Another fault
tolerant topology control algorithm is presented by Li and Hou in [53], in which a spanning subgraph
is computed by each node. If a pair of vertices is not k connected, an extra edge will be added between
these two vertices. The authors further prove that the resultant global network is k connected. In [54],
by considering the mobility of nodes, the author shows the mobility resilient topology control
protocols. The author classifies the topology control protocols into two types. 1) In this case, the
topology is built and maintained by each node based on its own knowledge about its neighbors.

The Challenges Of Underachievement In Gifted Students
Underachievement in gifted education can be attributed to a number of challenges that gifted students
face. Gifted students are capable of achieving, but factors such as learning disabilities and poor self
efficacy, prevent them from performing adequately. There are interventions that teachers and parents
can work together to implement to help work against these factors of underachievement. According to
the article, Underachieving gifted students: Two case studies , gifted students need specific
interventions to help them be successful in the gifted classroom. Through the implementation of a
Creative Writing Program, it was found that positive reinforcement, one to one teacher support, and
differentiation are interventions that help to alleviate gifted underachievement (Bennett Rappell
Northcote, 2016). I personally loved this article because it spoke from the honest application of
specific interventions within a realistic classroom situation. The specificity of interventions and honest
reports of success when implemented were extremely helpful in determining effective instructional
decisions when working with this niche student group. As a new teacher, it is intimidating to see a
pattern happening amongst your students and not know the best practices that I should implement to
help alleviate the pattern. In addition, the article Exploring Teachers Experiences of Working with
Gifted Students Who Underachieve , explored a different side of underachievement in gifted

The Modern City of Paris
In this essay, I intend to look at Question 1, The Modern City 1, Paris. I have decided to choose and
examine Maison de Verre (1928 32) by architect, Pierre Chareau which is situated in Rue Saint
Guillaume, Paris. Maison de Verre, also known as House of Glass was built in the era of Modern
Movement and of course, it somehow has a strong relation with the early modernist issues materially,
structurally and spatially. I will first explore how the house relates to the industrialisation issue in
general but to be specific how Chareau s interest and decision to use certain materials like steel really
brought forward the sense of the industrial design of the house. Then, I will talk about the relation of
the house with the issue of mechanisation and how successful Chareau was in portraying a set of
machines to live in with amazing planning since the very beginning. His concept of mobility in most
of the mechanical designs really captured my interest. Last but not least, I will discuss the issue of
hygiene in this house as I think that it is somehow a response to the spread of diseases in the twentieth
century and people started to think more about the idea of cleanliness. At the end of this essay, I will
conclude it with a summary of the three modernist issues which will be discussed later and the
influence of Maison de Verre on the following architects generation.
As mentioned earlier, industrialisation is one of the early modernist issues which relates significantly

General Education Curriculum
The progress in the general education curriculum is broken down in a few parts. The general education
curriculum is to be taught to non disabled students, and IDEA requires students with disabilities be
involved to the maximum magnitude which is appropriate for each student individually. All students,
including those with disabilities, will participate in the general education curriculum and will meet
certain standards in that curriculum. Three practices or laws of progress in the general education
curriculum can be defined: progress toward IEP goals, which is required by federal law, participation
in State district wide assessments and establishment of state level performance goals and indicators.
First, progress talks about the importance of what the federal law requires and promotes. IDEA
(Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) requires specific categories of disabilities under which
children may be eligible for special education and related services. IDEA requires the IEP to show
how a student will be involved and progress in the general education curriculum. By using the student
assessments, IEP shows the student progress in present levels of performance, annual goal, and
supplementary aids and services, program ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
General curriculum must meet the standards of appropriate information given, improve instruction,
and making school accountable to students, their families, and the public. This general curriculum
allows the annual participation in state district wide assessments. The Common Core State Standards
(CCSS) was adopted by state education agencies. The standards were created to develop actuality
learning goals pertaining to each grade level, beginning elementary to high school graduate ready for
college and career. Students benefit for CCSS by being in high expectations to achieve success in their

The War Of The Nazi Party
Although Berlin commanded that the operation was to be continued as planned, Best had one more
card to play. In a meeting between Best, Mildner, and the plenipotentiary s deputy and old friend, SS
Brigadeführer Paul Kanstein, who would later be involved in the July 20, 1944 assassination attempt
on Hitler as the would be new head of the German security police, it was decided that a warning
should be issued to the Jewish community. This warning would be leaked by Best s confidant, Georg
Ferdinand Duckwitz.
Georg Ferdinand Duckwitz is a celebrated figure regarding Holocaust resistance and has been
recognized as one of the Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem since 1971. He was born in
Bremen, Germany in 1904 and became involved in the international coffee trade after college,
spending much time in Scadinavia. He joined the Nazi Party in 1932 but later drifted away from the
movement. However, in 1939 the Foreign Ministry appointed him the German maritime attaché
stationed in Copenhagen, responsible for coordinating commercial shipping between the two
countries. As he had previously worked in Denmark before the war, his knowledge of Danish affairs
and their language made him a valuable asset. When Best arrived in Denmark in late 1942, he and
Duckwitz soon became good friends. Their families were known to socialize privately and Best
trusted Duckwitz s counsel on Danish affairs. Duckwitz served as a confidant to Best, who clearly

to 450 words on conflict and conflict management. Record your answers in this worksheet. Part 1: The
Five Conflict Types Describe each of the five conflict types using paragraph form. 1. Pseudo conflicts:
Psueudo conflicts, are conflicts that are not real, but they are only perceived as real conflicts. Pseudo
conflicts can result from two causes: faulty assumptions, and false dilemmas. A faulty assumption

3. Ego conflicts: Ego conflicts occur when a dispute settles on status or power. The initial arguments
may be over some factual question that can be easily answered. However, the ego conflict results
when you argue who has the right facts. The question of which Republican had the most votes during
the presidential election becomes who knows more about politics. 4. Value conflicts: Value conflicts
focus on personal beliefs that you hold near and dear. Value conflicts usually surface in personal
relationships. For example, my boyfriend and I have been dating for 6 months. We have discussed
marriage with children. I am Catholic and he is a non denominational Christian. When we discuss
marriage, he constantly reminds me that he doesn t believe in Catholicism. I am a practicing Catholic,
he is not a practicing Christian. We have both decided that eventually we will come to a compromise
where both of our religious needs will be met. 5. Need conflicts: Need conflicts usually occur when
the needs of one individual are at odds with the needs of another. For example, when you begin
cooking Thanksgiving dinner for your family and friends, and you begin a brand new recipe that
requires your undivided attention so that your measurements are precise; your cellular phone rings and
your 6 month old wakes up from his nap. Need conflicts are easily resolved by redefining or

Sense And Sensibility Play Summary
My impression of the play Sense Sensibility adapted by Jessica Swale was that it was almost like a
soap opera . There were tons of drama throughout the play and was also was almost two and half
hours long. It was based on a family the lives in England from the mid 90 s called the Dashwood s.
Throughout the play it was mostly based on the struggles that the Dashwood s went through on a daily
basis. The main struggle was them losing their father John Dashwood. They lost their castle of a house
and almost all of the wealth. Everything went to Mr. Dashwood s half brother and his wife. Also, the
love feuds that went on between Elinor Dashwood and Marianne Dashwood played a huge part of the
play. Sense Sensibility started off with the Dashwood s losing their house and basically all of their
money. This caused great anger and fear for the Dashwood family. Before the family had to move out
of the house one of the protagonist Elinor Dashwood fell in love with her sister in law s brother
Edward. They had to move into their distant relatives the Middleton s family. Their house wasn t
anything special and lived in a small town. It was hard for the Dashwood s to adjust to a completely
different lifestyle. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lights didn t move with the actor. The Dashwood family were the main characters of the play and
they all wore white clothing, which made them stick out more. The director made a good call on
having them all in white because it made them seem more important than the others and when the
other played a different character it obvious. The other characters were dressed in typical mid 90 s
England wardrobe with lots of colors and pants. The scenery of the play was based on the screen in the
back of the stage. It was changed throughout different scenes. The scene would look like you were in a
house, or outside in the valley, or by the ocean. The music in the play was when Marianne would play
the piano or

the land of the Enchanted Forest, though far away from many of the castles, as its own kingdom of

Describe A Model Of Bravery, Selflessness, Courage, And...
When describing a model of bravery, selflessness, courage, and sensibility Shun Fujimoto is an

the floor competition, while tumbling Shun had broken his right knee. Perseverance willed Shun to

When this is Americanized a quote from President John F. Kennedy comes to mind Ask not what your
country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country . Shun gained the love and support from
both his teammates and his country for enduring unimaginable amounts of pain to see others succeed.
By placing his teammates before his own well being and priorities Shun shows interdependent self
construal. The interdependent self construal is based on belonging to a group or fitting in. The Asian
culture is very centered around an interdependent self construal. Being family orient is a large
expectation many in the Asian culture believe, based upon religion that one must achieve the
happiness of certain Gods and will, in turn, live their life to gain that happiness and respect.
Maintaining social connections and keeping harmony and peace is a core value in the Japanese
culture. This being a valid reasoning for Shun s ability to withstand such brutalizing pain to achieve
his goal of helping carry his teammates to victory. The interdependent self construal is a means of
valuing other opinions higher than that of your own. The respect gained from family and friends is of
higher importance to the self than that of the inner thoughts. These relationships are dependent on the
reflection of the self in terms of how one defines succeeding and bring harmony to others. When

Cretaceous-Triassic Extinction Research Paper
An extinction event (also known as a mass extinction or biotic crisis) is a widespread and rapid
decrease in the amount of life on Earth. It occurs when the rate of extinction increases with respect to
the rate of speciation. Extinction occurs at an uneven rate.
The most recent and debatably best known, the Cretaceous Paleogene extinction event, which
occurred approximately 66 million years ago (Ma), was a large scale mass extinction of animal and
plant species in a geologically short period of time.
It is now generally believed that the K Pg extinction was triggered by a massive comet or asteroid
impact 66 million years ago and its catastrophic effects on the global environment, including a
lingering impact winter that made it impossible for plants and plankton to carry out photosynthesis.

Analysis Of Selling Of A Serial Killer
Selling of a Serial Killer directed by Nick Bloomfield was a compelling documentary that followed
the trial of Aileen Wuornos, America s first female serial killer who had killed seven men along a
highway between 1989 and 1990. The film opens with newscasts covering the subject to show the
severity of the matter, that serial killing were more common in the later portion of the nineties (Selling
of a Serial Killer). Aileen s full confession for the murder of Richard Mullary is introduced to the
audience within the first five minutes. Her confession is one of self defense insisting that she was
continuing abused by her clients during the course of her career as an escort and prostitute. This is
used as a technique to insight pity and sympathy. Bloomfield takes great interest into her lawyer Steve
Grazer, asking about his multiple professions, including being an agent for Aileens adoptive mother,
Arlene Pralle in addition to pressing Bloomfield for money supposedly requested by Aileen for an
interview (Selling of a Serial Killer).
The great interest in Steve Grazer is a tacktick to insight suspicion into Steve, who is portrayed as a
controversial quirky character, with every little law experience. As well as portraying Arlene as less of
a mother figure, and more as a person willing to exploit Aileen for her personal gain, shown by the
multiple conflicts in the film (Selling of a Serial Killer). Bloomfield often uses film from newscasts
because of the conflicts that had

The United States Government System Essay
The United States government system is very interesting and complexly designed. The state and
federal government is a mirror of each other when it comes to the generics of the executive branch,

their borders against all foreign and domestic enemies. Then there is the legislative branch that is
comprised of representatives elected by the people of the state. This branch controls the state s articles
of impeachment, budget, initiates the tax legislations, and creates legislative laws to fix issues brought
forth by the governor and/or the people. All the states, with the exception of Nebraska have a
legislative branch comprised of a bicameral legislature with two chambers. These two chambers are
the smaller upper house (Senate) and the larger lower house (House of Representatives), with the
responsibilities of constructing state laws and fulfilling other state responsibilities such as the state
budget. (State Local Government) The last branch is the judicial branch, which comprises the state
court system that is headed by the state Supreme Court and is structured under the state constitution.
Many criminal offenses are handled by the state courts, but if corrections are to be made on the lower
court systems, it is handled by the State Supreme Court. The rules conducted by the State Supreme
Court become the binding rule, but if questioned on the consistency of the ruling, the trial may be
brought up to the Federal Supreme Court. (State Local Government) Though the Federal and State

people s lives. Now days fashion show parts of individual s identities, which shows who they are as

Identity can be defined as a form of social presentation that shows a relationship between an
individual and an social world. There are many other reasons that an individual the need to express
themselves and their identity and they mainly revolve around issues like social status, economic class,
gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, religious condition, recreation and individualism. With
the use of fashion individuals we can either show or no show factors of their identities. This is done by
transmitting visual messages about themselves, and according to Bennett Fashion and visual
appearances play a considerable part on informing notions of commonality (2005: 96). With the help
of fashionable items, Individuals demonstrated their memberships to a particular social group, and
their distance from groups who held a lower social position (Bennett, 2005: 100). This can refer to
Thorstein Veblen theory of conspicuous consumption that by consuming fashionable goods. The term
refers to consumers who buy expensive items to display wealth and income rather than to cover the
real needs of the consumer (Veblen, 1899).
Sex and gender are two significantly emphasized words when looking at fashion and identity as a
whole. Just like fashion and clothing, sex and gender are not the same. Sex is determined

High Population In Prison Essay
The High Price of Prison The United States spends $80 billion on incarcerating inmates per year. The
government is spending more money on keeping an inmate imprisoned in relation to educating
elementary/secondary school students. The government continues to spend more money on
imprisoning people and cutting funds from important societal needs, including education. When funds
get taken away, the amount of opportunities for others become limited. The United States should
decrease the amount of money spent on incarcerating inmates because there are more effective options
to prevent the high population of people in jail. The U.S. should increase the amount of money spent
on education/other methods to reduce the population in prison because the price of incarcerating

should change their policy for low level offenses because it creates over population in prisons
throughout America. Although the crime rate has decreased by 45%, the population in prison
continues to increase. This is because there are so many prisoners in jail for low level offenses.
According to Picchi of CBS News, Changes in how America deals with low level crimes such as drug
offenses mean the country now has an incarceration rate of 710 inmates per 100,000 residents,
compared with the typical rate of 115 amount nations in the Organization for Economic Co Operation
and Development . Rather than over crowding prisons with people who committed low level crimes,
the U.S. can create a more logical alternative. They can replace jail time with mandatory weekly
classes to help fix their addiction or bad habits. They can also be placed on parole in order to ensure
their safety and the safety of others. This will clear the jail and leave room for those who have
committed high level crimes. It is easily justified to put someone in jail who has committed a violence
offense, but it is not as easily said about someone who has committed a low level crime, such as

Dental Terminology Essay
Current Dental Terminology is a code set that is developed and updated by the American Dental
Association (ADA) in order to report the dental services and procedures for reimbursement. Many of
the codes were published by CMS as HCPCS D code in conjunction with ADA however, the
ownership of the CDT codes remained with the ADA. In 2010, ADA ended the distribution with CMS
and took over the CDT codes, which are available for purchase from ADA. The purpose of CDT codes
is to achieve uniformity, consistency, and specificity when reporting on the dental procedures and
being able to provide efficient processing of dental benefits claims. Since 2013, the ADA started
publishing the CDT codes annually. They publish the new codes, revised codes and deleted codes in
each annual edition. The dental professional are required to update these codes to be in compliance
with HIPAA regulations. As a result, the reimbursement to dental professionals is based on the CDT
codes reported in the ADA claim form, therefore, utilizing the new codes will not only maximize
reimbursement but, will also reduce audit liability. Moreover, there are five important sections in the
CDT manual that provide pertinent information regarding the codes. The first section covers the code
on dental procedures and nomenclature. There are 12 dental service categories for ... Show more

Reflection Paper On Weight
When I was in high school I was one of the smallest member in all of my classes, I joined the cross
country team and was among one of the fastest runners in my school but after I graduated I had a new
goal to gain weight and put an ending to just skin and bones. To begin with, I chose to achieve gaining
ten pounds in the four weeks of my psychology class. The reason why I chose this is because all my
life I have struggled to gain weight, I would go through tubs of protein and eat whatever my heart
desired and I would always stay the same weight. After joining the military I was able to plan out my
meals and with the exceeded workout plans every day I was able to put some weight on my body, but
yet my metabolism was still too fast and I would rapidly lose the weight I had worked so hard to gain.
My metabolism was so fast I even considered too stop exorcising and ate junk food for a whole month
but quickly realized that was not the right route to go.
Starting my weight gaining goal for these four week project helped me get back into the rhythm I had
once lost. The first week was the hardest, I had to go back and reorganize how I lived my day to day
life. First I had to relearn all about nutrition and what foods would help me achieve my ten pound goal
by the end of the four weeks. I had to make sure I ate enough calories throughout the day and
compensate the calories that I would burn with and without working out, so I started my plan off with
about MMM calories a day to see

Restaurant Analysis
Maurice s Piggie Park BBQ is located in Lexington, South Carolina right off of Highway Six. It is a
small restaurant, but large for a barbecue place. The building is a rectangle shape, inside and out, the
inside is split into sections, two sections for seating, a section for the drive thru window, and a section
for the drinks and BBQ sauces. When I visited Maurice s, half of the seating was blocked off, I am
guessing it is only used for larger parties, and the other half is full of families and couples, sweet tea
filling all of their styrofoam cups. The drive thru window is busy with people in cars being handed
food and drinks, and waitresses running around bringing customers their food. All the floors I can see

The key for a restaurant to run smoothly and efficiently, especially when there is only one register, like
Maurice s, is to have a well designed menu to explain the sandwiches and combinations enough so the
customer will not spend a lot of time asking the cashier questions. The main menu on display in
Maurice s Piggie Park BBQ does just that. Another important aspect the menu has is the prices, which
were a little higher than I had expected, some items were priced at almost twenty dollars. When I
visited Maurice s, I ordered a serving of banana pudding and five hush puppies and the order ended up
costing just over seven dollars, which is a whole meal and a milkshake at Cookout. I imagine the
owner s have to have it at this price, since everything is homemade and real southern cooking. The
prices also keep the noisy, crazy college students away, making the restaurant more of a family
establishment, attracting families and older people, the type of people who do not mind to spend a
little more for better quality food. Maurice s menu not only serves the obvious functions of showing
customers what is served and at what cost, but it also brings people together. The menu represents the
food people come in to order, so they can sit down and eat together. This heart of the restaurant shows
the love that is shown here when families choose to eat at Maurice s together, instead of eating by
themselves or eating in

1939 1945. It started when Germany invaded Poland, and led to France and Britain declaring war on
Hitler s nazi state. One of the largest and bloodiest battles in warfare history(1), The Battle of
Stalingrad, is said to take place during this war. America initially did not want to become involved

Arguments Against Racial Hostility
Racial Hostility: Is the Effort from College Administrators Towards Racial Incidents Effective?
In modern days, there have been many reports on African Americans who claim that they are unfairly
treated at universities and that there isn t any administrative responsiveness. Additionally, some say
that the effort administrators are giving isn t effective. Other students on these campuses say that the
African Americans are just overreacting and that the incidents aren t that serious. In contrast,
administrators claim that they are attending to the problems that these students have and that they are
trying their best to find a solution to the problem. Racial hostility is when someone or a group of

Blow asserts that African Americans aren t getting enough attention from the college administrators.
Accordingly, he states that the reason being is because when there are racial episodes going on at
colleges, the leaders do not attend to the problem in a timely matter. Now the black community is fed
up and is protesting for justice. Blow starts off with an account from Ebony G. Patterson, an artist, and
professor, who stated that, the black body is a site of contention (Blow 3). To justify the meaning of
the phrase, it means that black bodies are a battlefield because they are constantly fighting against
themselves to make white folks comfortable. In other words, black people are feeling as if they do not
obtain freedom because the administrators are not making movements towards making colleges safe
for them. Blow states that the time of placidity is at an end. Meaning that blacks will not tolerate it
anymore. Young black folks are refusing altercation or the mollification of conformity and are simply
demanding justice , said Blow (Blow 9). Reason being is because black people believe that white
people should accept them how they are. Nonetheless, he makes it clear that black people aren t

Types of Web Application Flaws
Some types of web application flaws are mostly caused by an attack, a threat or a weakness.
To present these security vulnerabilities, I have taken into consideration the results from OWASP
(Open Web Application Security Project) organization, which is focused on improving the security of
software. According to OWASP, top 10 most dangerous web vulnerabilities are listed below.
Injection Flaws
Injection flaws, such as SQL, OS, and LDAP injection, allow attackers to relay malicious code
through Web applications to another system, such as backend databases. This injection flaws, occur
when untrusted data is sent to an interpreter as part of a command or query with the purpose to access
unauthorized data. This type of vulnerability can be very dangerous and can potentially lead to all
types of application attacks. To compensate this, organizations can use commercial WAFs (Web
application firewalls), to identify when an injection flaw is successful by identifying information
leakages. Other caution that enterprises should take is implementing access controls in database and
the use of parameterized queries in which application API is used to set SQL parameters.
Broken Authentication Session Management
Authentication and session management deals with user authentication and management of active
sessions. Application functions related to authentication and session management are often not
implemented correctly, allowing attackers to compromise passwords, keys, session

Gender And Gender Roles
Society expects different behaviors from boys and girls. Gender socialization is the tendency of
socialization of boys and girls differently. Gender roles are personality, attitude, and behaviors
expected of people based on their sex. Socialization is one s process of acknowledgment, acceptance,
and awareness of societal values and norms. George Mead theorized that through social interactions,
one will develop their personal identity, such as a little girl being gifted a play kitchen set so she can
mimic her mother s role and a boy playing with a plastic tool box. Therefore, following the footsteps
of their parents, many grown men struggle to be emotionally available or expressive while women
continue to feel obligated to satisfy a man. Many are influenced by culture, and many parts of the
world, cultures are different. For example, in the U.S., many people associate the color blue with boys.
Even as babies, they are treated different and dressed different. A girl is seen only for her outward
appearance while a guy is seen for his interests and aspirations, again, objectifying a woman and
elevating a man. Men are shamed upon if they are not the bread earner of the household and women
are shamed for not being there for their child instead, working a job. As members of society, one will
accept these gender criteria and be disciplined to act according to one s gender to avoid being the
misfit of the group.

Roaring 20 s Use Of Hindsight In The Great Depression
The problem with comprehension is, it often comes too late. Rasmenia Massoud is talking here about
what is called hindsight. Hindsight is the way in which you can understand a situation only after it has
happened or developed. When looking at history, we use a lot of hindsight. In the case of the Roaring
20 s turning into the Great Depression, we can see in hindsight that there were many extraneous and
careless occurrences in the 20s that spawned the Great Depression whereas during the 20s we didn t
see this. We can now use hindsight to see that these detrimental factors stemmed from the stock
market, the government, and society at the time. At the time, things seemed great but we can see now
that they inflicted a lot of burden later on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
President Warren Harding and President Calvin Coolidge were the Presidents during the roaring 20s
and they favored large businesses and helped those businesses by making tax cuts that encouraged
business expansion. While the rising of these big businesses did help in decreasing unemployment,
they also played a role in the increase of the cost of living. This higher cost of living made the Great
Depression worse. Another lapse of judgement by the government pertained to both the stock market
and the federal banking system. In the 20 s banks were allowed to invest in land and the stock market
with very little government regulations. The banks were using the people s money to invest in unstable
and unpredictable endeavors. When the stock market crashed, the banks had no money to give back to
the people who stored their money in the banks.
Society in America also helped unknowingly cause the Great Depression. In the 1920s manufacturing
and agricultural advancements in technology caused the increase in efficiency in production. This
seemed to be a great thing, however there wasn t enough demand of these products to keep up with the
rapid production because people weren t making enough money. The leftover supply of these goods
increased dramatically while the income for the farmers stayed low. It set rural, farm areas up to

Richard Cory American Dream
One of Edwin Arlington Robinson s most popular and well known poems, Richard Cory, was first
published in 1987. The poem is a narrative that illustrates how the poor perceived a powerful, wealthy,
and well educated man who unexpectedly committed suicide. From the poor s perception, the reader
has a limited point of view into Richard Cory s personal life; therefore, we are unable to understand
Richard Cory s reasoning for committing suicide. What the reader does know is that Richard Cory was
living the American Dream, a desirable lifestyle to the poor people of society. While the definition has

The last two lines of the first stanza show Richard Cory s high social/economic status: He was a
gentleman from sole to crown, clean favored, and imperially slim. During this time period, gentlemen
were considered high class men, not just kind and respectful. The phrases from soul to crown and
imperially slim portray Richard Cory as royal, expressing the poor s perception of Richard Cory as a
celebrity. In the second stanza, the narrator describes Richard Cory as being quietly arrayed (line 5),
meaning he was dressed in conservative apparel, not trying to draw attention to himself. This shows
Richard Cory was humble despite his high economic/social status. Although Richard Cory is
portrayed as down to earth and human when he talked (line 6), the poor were charmed with fluttered
pulses (line 7) by his greetings along the street. The last line of the second stanza shows the poor
people s admiration for Richard Cory: he glittered (shined) when he walked. Such admiration and awe
for an upper class man makes Richard Cory a celebrity figure in the poor s perception. Not only was
Richard Cory of high status and good nature, he was living the American

  • 3. Essay on Family Relationships in Greek Mythology Greek Mythology originated around 775 B.C.E. It all started with Homer s Iliad and continued on with Hesiod s Theogany. These were the first two myths to be recorded in Greek Mythology. Both of these myths reveal to us about their understanding of the universe, and about their culture. Not only do they talk about their various gods, and heroes, but they also talk about how they viewed the universe in general (Rosenberg 79). Greek Mythology evolved from two early civilizations, the Mycenaean s and the Minoans. It was the combining of these different Greek cities and Kingdoms during 10th century B.C. that created Greek Mythology. Its Geographic isolation gave it a place for mythologies to evolve (Gale Virtual Reference Library: Greek ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Uranus was afraid that Cronus might overpower him and one day obtain all his power. Knowing this Uranus purposely tried to kill Cronus in multiply occasions, but Gaea would always protect him. One day Gaea and Cronus made a plan to have Cronus challenge Uranus and take over his power. So it happened, Cronnus challenged his father and was victorious during their battle and Uranus was left to rot (Bernard 1) Now Cronus had become king of gods by killing his father Uranus (Bernard 3). In both Greek and Roman Mythology, the relationship between parents and children are distorted, strained, and bizarrely transformed, because of their greediness for power and obsessiveness to be better than the other. To begin with, the relationship between parents and their children are distorted, because of their greediness and obsessiveness to be better than the other. In the story of Medea, Medea poisoned her own children, because she wanted to see her husband suffer the way she suffered after he left her. She decided they best way to get revenge is by poisoning her children, this way both their children and Jason s new wife will die of poisoning and Jason will be left all alone in the world with no one to love him (Rosenberg 204). This clearly shows that the relationship between parents and children is distorted, because Medea was willing to poison her own children to get revenge on her husband. Starting in 1998, price has been falling rapidly. In addition, the development of CMOS allowed digital camera to not only capture professional market, but also enter consumer market. It was estimated that in 2006 forecast would peak with 63% penetration rate for digital cameras in the US. After 2006, the growth rate was expected to fall negative. Product lives for digital cameras had been shortened. While an average life was between 17 and 22 months, high end, feature packed products had the shortest life cycle. However, the manufacturing lead time for digital cameras was long. Taking Leitax for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before, the concept of demand forecast was to serve the key functional groups in achieving their own interest. Facing the new challenges, forecast needed to be more accurate. And therefore it needed a new concept that is to have a consensus forecasting that would accurately reveal market demand and align the needs of key actors in the forecasting process. Leitax implemented two specific changes in forecasting process. The first one is to switch the focus from sell in to sell through and second one is to ignore capacity constraints. QUESTION 3 The mission of the Forecast Re Design Team was to reduce expenses and risks associated with production and costs of procurement, inventory, quality control and technical infrastructure. According to Fowler, there were four objectives: (1), to reduce inventory levels across the supply chain; (2) to increase velocity and accuracy of planning information throughout the supply chain; (3) to increase supply upside and downside flexibility; and (4) to improve on time performance to customers. The projects require individuals who have good technical skills and forecasting and industry knowledge. But more importantly, it needs people who could help implement the new changes. To be more specific, the qualities are the leadership abilities to shape an organization and know how to effect senior management to modify the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Connectivity And Topology Of Wireless Networks Connectivity and topology control: Some approaches tried to improve the system reliability by carefully designing the connectivity or topology of wireless networks. Paper [50] addresses the problem of fault tolerant deployment of wireless ad hoc networks. Based on the pre assumed transmission range, the authors propose a scheme to calculate the probability that a given network is k connected. Based on the intensive deployment, the redundant sensor nodes are used to cope the random working nodes failure. Following the similar idea, a distributed algorithm is proposed in [52]. By deploying calculated necessary number of extra nodes in the given network, the objective of fault tolerant topology control can be achieved. However, due to the limited space and cost constraint, adding redundant nodes to a deployed WSN may not always be an acceptable solution. Another fault tolerant topology control algorithm is presented by Li and Hou in [53], in which a spanning subgraph is computed by each node. If a pair of vertices is not k connected, an extra edge will be added between these two vertices. The authors further prove that the resultant global network is k connected. In [54], by considering the mobility of nodes, the author shows the mobility resilient topology control protocols. The author classifies the topology control protocols into two types. 1) In this case, the topology is built and maintained by each node based on its own knowledge about its neighbors. According to its own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Challenges Of Underachievement In Gifted Students Underachievement in gifted education can be attributed to a number of challenges that gifted students face. Gifted students are capable of achieving, but factors such as learning disabilities and poor self efficacy, prevent them from performing adequately. There are interventions that teachers and parents can work together to implement to help work against these factors of underachievement. According to the article, Underachieving gifted students: Two case studies , gifted students need specific interventions to help them be successful in the gifted classroom. Through the implementation of a Creative Writing Program, it was found that positive reinforcement, one to one teacher support, and differentiation are interventions that help to alleviate gifted underachievement (Bennett Rappell Northcote, 2016). I personally loved this article because it spoke from the honest application of specific interventions within a realistic classroom situation. The specificity of interventions and honest reports of success when implemented were extremely helpful in determining effective instructional decisions when working with this niche student group. As a new teacher, it is intimidating to see a pattern happening amongst your students and not know the best practices that I should implement to help alleviate the pattern. In addition, the article Exploring Teachers Experiences of Working with Gifted Students Who Underachieve , explored a different side of underachievement in gifted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Modern City of Paris In this essay, I intend to look at Question 1, The Modern City 1, Paris. I have decided to choose and examine Maison de Verre (1928 32) by architect, Pierre Chareau which is situated in Rue Saint Guillaume, Paris. Maison de Verre, also known as House of Glass was built in the era of Modern Movement and of course, it somehow has a strong relation with the early modernist issues materially, structurally and spatially. I will first explore how the house relates to the industrialisation issue in general but to be specific how Chareau s interest and decision to use certain materials like steel really brought forward the sense of the industrial design of the house. Then, I will talk about the relation of the house with the issue of mechanisation and how successful Chareau was in portraying a set of machines to live in with amazing planning since the very beginning. His concept of mobility in most of the mechanical designs really captured my interest. Last but not least, I will discuss the issue of hygiene in this house as I think that it is somehow a response to the spread of diseases in the twentieth century and people started to think more about the idea of cleanliness. At the end of this essay, I will conclude it with a summary of the three modernist issues which will be discussed later and the influence of Maison de Verre on the following architects generation. As mentioned earlier, industrialisation is one of the early modernist issues which relates significantly with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. General Education Curriculum The progress in the general education curriculum is broken down in a few parts. The general education curriculum is to be taught to non disabled students, and IDEA requires students with disabilities be involved to the maximum magnitude which is appropriate for each student individually. All students, including those with disabilities, will participate in the general education curriculum and will meet certain standards in that curriculum. Three practices or laws of progress in the general education curriculum can be defined: progress toward IEP goals, which is required by federal law, participation in State district wide assessments and establishment of state level performance goals and indicators. First, progress talks about the importance of what the federal law requires and promotes. IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) requires specific categories of disabilities under which children may be eligible for special education and related services. IDEA requires the IEP to show how a student will be involved and progress in the general education curriculum. • 16. Sense And Sensibility Play Summary My impression of the play Sense Sensibility adapted by Jessica Swale was that it was almost like a soap opera . There were tons of drama throughout the play and was also was almost two and half hours long. It was based on a family the lives in England from the mid 90 s called the Dashwood s. Throughout the play it was mostly based on the struggles that the Dashwood s went through on a daily basis. The main struggle was them losing their father John Dashwood. They lost their castle of a house and almost all of the wealth. Everything went to Mr. Dashwood s half brother and his wife. Also, the love feuds that went on between Elinor Dashwood and Marianne Dashwood played a huge part of the play. Sense Sensibility started off with the Dashwood s losing their house and basically all of their money. This caused great anger and fear for the Dashwood family. Before the family had to move out of the house one of the protagonist Elinor Dashwood fell in love with her sister in law s brother Edward. They had to move into their distant relatives the Middleton s family. Their house wasn t anything special and lived in a small town. In the 1920s manufacturing and agricultural advancements in technology caused the increase in efficiency in production. This seemed to be a great thing, however there wasn t enough demand of these products to keep up with the rapid production because people weren t making enough money. The last line of the second stanza shows the poor people s admiration for Richard Cory: he glittered (shined) when he walked.
