2. The Battle Of Gettysburg Battle Analysis
Battle of Gettysburg Battle Analysis It is our duty, as soon to be Second Lieutenants in the Army, to
learn from history. Learning from mistakes in the past is necessary to understand the responsibilities
we will soon have. The Battle of Gettysburg shows prime examples of the nine principles of war:
Objective, Offensive, Mass, Economy of Force, Maneuver, Unity of Command, Security, Surprise and
Simplicity. In the military today, we are overwhelmingly blessed with every asset that we have
including technology and monetary resources the list could go on forever but the most invaluable asset
is history. Although all nine principles of war are pertinent to success on the battlefield, only five will
be discussed in this analysis.
Objective
What a cruel thing is war; to separate and destroy families and friends, and mar the purest joys and
happiness God has granted us in this world; to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our
neighbours, and to devastate the fair face of this beautiful world! I pray that, on this day when only
peace and good will are preached to mankind, better thoughts may fill the hearts of our enemies and
turn them to peace. ... My heart bleeds at the death of every one of our gallant men. (General Robert
E. Lee. 1862) General Robert E. Lee, as renowned as he is for his tactfulness in wartime, resents war

Since all of us in our group are international students and a few of us are in our first semester at
Swinburne, it was almost impossible for us to find an Information Systems Manager and would like to
thank Jason for leading us to Mr. Mim Saznus. We understand that we are required to draw a direct
correlation between what we ve learnt in lectures and textbooks and see if we could relate it to
challenges that Information Systems Managers face in the real world or see how much of a gap we
have between what we learn and what actually happens in the corporate world. We would like to
extrapolate inputs received from Mim during the interview in our research report and build on the
points that he has made.
Mr. Saznus was gracious enough to spare some time for an interview and we had a few great learnings
and insights into the Information Systems space. He isn t an Information Systems Manager however

4. The Taming Of The Shrew And 10 Things I Hate About You...
How has the process of detecting intertextual relationships between texts also enriched your
understanding of a significant cultural issue or idea?
The explicit and implicit subjects of this play arranged marriages, the authority of fathers and
husbands, the obedience expected from daughters and wives, the economic helplessness of most
women were issues and experiences that touched the lives of everyone in Shakespeare s audience.
Dorothea Kehler
Detecting intertextual relationships between The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare and 10
Things I Hate About You directed by Gil Junger has enriched my understanding of feminism in the
American society. The Taming of The Shrew, written in 1593, challenges cultural expectations of
women s rights at that time. 10 Things I Hate About You however, was produced to fit the context of
1990 s America. A period when a great deal of anxiety was focused on adolescent girls, following
publication of reports which found that the education of adolescent girls was marginalized.
In the 16th century, it may have been a historical fact that Eve was created from Adam s rib, thus the
socially accepted system of patriarchy. The Taming of The Shrew promotes typical 16th century
attitudes towards matrimony and relations between fathers and daughters. Baptista, Katherine s father,
treats marriage as a transaction, where his daughters are the commodities to be exchanged.

support systems, research has demonstrated and substantiated reduced decision cycle time, increased
employee productivity and more timely information for decision making. The time savings that have

Enhance effectiveness. A second category of advantage that has been widely discussed and examined

6. Social Class and Power in the Novel “Great Expectations”
Social class played a major role in the society depicted in Charles Dickens s novel Great Expectations
. Many characters were treated differently because of their social class in the story. Seeing the contrast
between how the poor and the rich were treated will give a clearer understanding of how much social
class mattered. During the nineteenth century, British society was dominated and ruled by a tightly
woven system of class distinctions. Social relations and acceptance were based upon position. Charles
Dickens utilizes Great Expectations as a commentary on the system of class and each person s place
within it. In the character of Pip, Dickens demonstrates the working class obsession to overthrow their
limitations and re invent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Realizing this will play a part in proving that social class did matter in most but not all cases. For
example, the lowest class people were Joe, Biddy, Magwitch, and Orlick. Joe and Biddy were very
poor but had very good hearts. Joe was always there for Pip and Biddy had moved in to help Mrs. Joe.
Magwitch was a dirty convict of the lowest class, but he turned out to be a very caring and generous
man. Orlick was low class and his character also turned out to be very low because he was a murderer.
The fact that there are both good and cold hearted people in the lower class shows that class has no
connection with how people really are. Another example is the richer class. This includes Ms.
Havisham, Estella, Herbert, Jaggers, and Wemmick. Ms. Havisham and Estella were both very
wealthy but they had no heart and their intentions were to bring hell to all men. While Herbert was the
opposite, he was a true friend to Pip and always stayed by his side. Jaggers and Wemmick also in the
higher class had supported Pip through his gentleman years. Being aware that not all of the high class
were necessarily good people states the fact that class does not determine character. Even though class
mattered in most things, this is an example it did not take part in.
The theme of social class is central to the novel s plot and to the ultimate moral theme of the book. Pip
s realization that wealth and class are less important than affection, loyalty, and inner worth. Pip

7. Brokeback Mountain Essay
Movies can be divided in to so many categories nowadays and there are different reasons why there is
an emergence of these. One reason being that movies evolve with society and this is evident in the
way movies are presented from black and white to colored and now 3D movies. But we must also look
at how the different plots have evolved from the usual light home movies to mafia influenced movies
and now more socially relevant movies. As society evolves, so does our opinions and views on
different ideologies or concepts about life and our surroundings.
In the case of bisexuality, our cultures dictate whether or not we will accept it freely or with a little
opposition. This is most evident in the movie Brokeback Mountain which stirred the ... Show more

This practice is called aretē wherein two individuals seek the excellence that the other possesses and
in the process they are led to a union, even if they are married, that society accepts. Although in the
case of the movie and our society at present, this practice isn t accepted, we can see that people who
lived during that time have an open mind which people should have at present.
The emergence of this movie also shows us that there is an initiative on the part of film directors to
shape society s view on gays. Especially since a lot of people misunderstand them because they don t
take that initiative to see that they only differ in preference and not necessarily in their genetic
makeup. With this in mind it should also be noted that as these directors and other organizations make
those initiatives, people will be more likely to understand and accept others differences and eventually
coexists without prejudice and violence.
According to Heath Ledger when asked about what he can say about the movie, he said, It transcends
a label. It s a story of two human beings that are in love; get over the fact that it s two men that s the
point. This wonderful quote summarizes what everyone should take into consideration. The
bottomline of all relationships should be love. Whether that love would be with a man or woman,
everyone should give that level of respect because no one can dictate who the right one is but

In American society, the common stereotype is that the father has the role of the dominant figure in the
household. Sylvia Plath and Sharon Olds may come across as two seemingly different poets, however,
they are really quite similar, especially in their driving forces behind their writing styles in poetry. The
lives of Plath and Olds are both expressive of the realities of a father dominated family, in which both
of these poets lost their fathers at a young age. This is significant because both poets have faced a
similar traumatic event that has had everlasting effects on their adult womanhood, which is reflected
in their writings. For both these woman, their accesses to father daughter relationships were denied

Both poems make allusions to Greek deities as a metaphor for the common perception that the father
is the dominant one in a family. The numerous attempts of the speaker s infatuation with The Colossus
with restoring the fallen statue and Olds comparison of alcoholism to the Greek deity, Saturn both
vividly symbolize that a father s decisions whether its life or in death, has its consequences. In,
addition it is for a young girl growing up to have a father figure in their lives and how the absence of a
father figure can impact a young woman s life tremendously.
Plath touches upon the highs and struggles of her life growing up, such as the tragic loss of her father,
which is reflected within her work. Sylvia was confused and angry about her father s death. Plath
expresses her hate for why her father is gone, hence why she became depressed and mentally ill
because deep down inside she felt like she could ve prevented his death. Plath always felt like a victim
to the male dominated society, especially when it came down to her father. In The Colossus , the
speaker tries in vain to piece fallen Colossus of Rhodes back together and to make it speak to her. This
depicts her broken relationship with her father for which she was trying to piece back together as well.

The Acts have vastly improved bilingual education over the years. The current programs available to
culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students are numerous and are found throughout the U.S.
The fact that educating CLD students has historically been a hot button issue so much that it is part of
the political arena. Bilingual education has become a controversial issue tied up with immigration
policies, government funding, and political parties. Therefore, there have been great changes made
overtime to how the program is administered, and what types of certifications the educators require.
The State of Texas has issued a Texas Education Code that includes laws and codes passed by the state

$5000.00, MCSD was the lowest at $52,000.00 and CCSD being the highest at $57,000.00. Looking

11. Analysis Of Blood Meridian Or The Evening Redness Of The West
Blood Meridian or the Evening Redness in the West, is a novel written by an author by the name of
Cormac McCarthy. Cormac McCarthy wrote this to show a teenage runaway perspective of living on
your own during the late 1800 s. Throughout this novel, McCarthy shows the reader the feeling of
being in hell and describing a kid s journey through hell. This eye opening novel takes place in Texas,
Mexico and the American Southwest, Circa. This historical fiction novel is surprisingly accurate when
describing the events that occurred during the situations in the Southwestern U.S. and Mexico around
the 1850 s. McCarthy s Blood Meridian contains a lot of violent and bloody events that build up to the
subjugation of the Apaches, as well as other Native tribes, and the southwestern expansion of the
United States of America. All these events are proven to be an accurate description of the way
Indigenous people were treated and how they lived throughout this time. The story Blood Meridian or
the Evening Redness of the West, explains a couple of the major frontier themes of a man s kinship for
violence, religion, and power in the Western American History. These can be found as the theme
depending on the way the reader interprets it. The story represents the traditions of the American
Southwest, as the kid meets different people with different perspectives on life. This novel describes a

Introduction
Ultrasound is a type of energy produced by sound waves that belong to a frequency which are
extremely high to be noticed by human ear; anything above 16 kHz [Jayasooriya et al. 2004]. When
ultrasound travels through a living structure, it creates a compression and depressions, and a high

In comparison, the Holy Quran, written after the Old Testament, remains in its original form. Written

14. Essay about The Ancient Relatives of Mammals
The mammalian line of descent reaches back to over 300 million years. The ancient relatives of
mammals were extremely different in terms of appearance from living mammals, and are often
mistaken for reptiles (for example dinosaurs). In reality though, these relatives of mammals, called
synapsids, are more like mammals than reptiles. Synapsids are often described as mammal like
reptiles because they show both reptilian and mammalian traits. They lived right before the Mesozoic
Era, during the Permian Period (286 251 mya). Synapsids derive their name from the fact that they
had only one temporal opening on each side of the skull (called laterotemporal fenestrae), just like all
mammals. Many synapsids had features that were considered ... Show more content on

They are believed to have hunted larger herbivores in packs (similar to wolves). Lystrosaurus was
another hippo like aquatic creature. Cistecephalus lived underground, where it most likely dug for
insects and worms. Estemmenosuchus was another Permian carnivore whose skull had many bony
outgrowths. According to Neo Darwinian theory, all the functional diversity (the various synapsid
types) was wiped out as the reptiles of the Mesozoic Era overtook the synapsids. It is usually said that
only the basic structural plan of modern day mammals was derived from the synapsids. This view is
technically flawed because in terms of fossilized remains (the only basis by which the structure of an
extinct animal can be remade), only a small amount of traits consistently distinguished mammals from
reptiles. In damaged and fragmented fossils, these traits are practically undetectable. So how can one
tell what the basic structural plan that was derived from synapsids was?
Regardless of this, only one thing is known for sure Non mammalian synapsids did not evolve from
reptiles. We know for a fact that non mammalian synapsids have something to do with the origin of
mammals, but what happened to these fascinating creatures during the Mesozoic Era and how they
gave rise to real mammals is unknown.

15. Symbolism And Symbolism In Sylvia Plath s Tulips
Sylvia Plath s Tulips explores the idea of disconnecting oneself from life, only to remember their
responsibilities in life. The speaker in the poem is in a hospital room, separate from her family. No one
is present in the white hospital room, except for the speaker and the tulips. The room is peaceful and
allows the speaker to enjoy a lack of commitment towards anything. Unfortunately for the speaker, the
tulips in the room remind her of her life and bind the speaker to her prior commitments. Color
symbolism and personification contrast the peace of disconnection and obligations in life.
Color symbolism of the white hospital room and the red tulips juxtapose the peacefulness of the
speaker s temporary freedom from responsibility and the harsh reality of life. For instance, the hospital
room which the speaker resides in is white. The speaker draws attention to this, stating Look how
white everything is as the light lies on these white walls (Plath 2, 4). White is traditionally symbolic of
purity and peace. The hospital, with its white walls, is wholesome and calming, emphasizing the
peacefulness of freedom. Clashing with the white hospital room are the vividly red tulips in the room.
The tulips are a harsh red color, typically associated with pain, that threatens the speaker and is
uncomfortable. The disdain for the tulips is evident, as the tulips are too red in the first place and they
hurt the speaker (36). The red tulips evoke pain as they are juxtaposed with the calmness of the white
room. The vividly red tulips are striking against the white walls of the hospital, as they revoke the
peacefulness of the speaker s surroundings. Furthermore, the redness of the tulips reminds the speaker
of their prior commitments. The tulips are more than just flowers, for they upset the speaker with their
sudden tongues and their color and serve as a dozen red lead sinkers round my neck. (41, 42). The
tulips bring the speaker back to reality as they drag her down. The white hospital room serves as a safe
haven from responsibility, while the tulips present in the room remind the speaker of her obligations in
life. The color symbolism of the white hospital room and the red tulips juxtapose the peacefulness of

Eyewitness testimony is defined as, an area of research that investigates the accuracy of memory
following an accident, crime, or other significant event, and the types of errors that are commonly
made in such situations. Much emphasis is placed on the accuracy of eyewitness testimony as often
inaccurate eyewitness testimony can have serious consequences leading to wrong convictions.
Eyewitness testimony is a powerful tool within any field, particularly that of justice, as it is a readily
accepted form of evidence that allows for convictions. However, Tests conducted by Loftus have

Huff recently estimated that about 7,500 people arrested for serious crime in the United States were
wrongly convicted in 1999. He further noted that the rate is thought to be much lower in Great Britain,
Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and others, especially those that have established procedures for
reviewing cases involving the potential of wrongful conviction. Ronald Cotton was convicted in 1986
of raping a 22 year old college student, on the basis of her testimony, Cotton was sentenced to prison
for life. DNA testing, 11 years later proved Cotton as innocent. Another man, Bobby Poole, pleaded
guilty to the crime. (Ref: Egeth, H. E. What do we not know about eyewitness identification?) This
case shows, as I mentioned earlier, how much jurors rely on eyewitness testimony, yet it perhaps is the
most unreliable source of evidence in the first place.
A key reason for memory distortion is that witnesses pick up information from other sources, a
combination of memory from different experiences. Much research shows that memory more closely
resembles a synthesis of experiences. Bartlett (1932) carried out research on reconstructive memory.

The biggest western country that enforces compulsory voting is Australia. The major strength of this
particular voting method is of course the numbers. As mentioned earlier 92% of Australia s voting
population came and voted compared to Americas 41%. This obviously makes the result more fair and
democratic as it shows what the majority of the population want. On numerous occasions in recent
history there have been numerous attempts to accept voluntary voting and ditch compulsory, however
every time the idea was ditched, mainly due to how successful it was working but also because of the
popularity and the social backing behind it. Another strength for compulsory voting is that it educates
people on politics and the policies each party applies. This comes in the sense that citizens, knowing
they have to vote, will do research on each party gaining a better understanding. For the people who
are very uneducated on politics the possible idea of research can help them select the major or minor
party they want to back. A weakness of compulsory voting goes against the previous strength this is
that people who are uneducated in politics may just select a random party that they know nothing
about only so they don t get fined. This could be a party that the majority of the country s population
dislike, for Australia s example Pauline Hanson s one nation party. If every politically uneducated
person in Australia was to do this it could pose an issue to the people who actually know what they are
doing and their votes. Some people believe that compulsory voting is wrong as it forces the citizens to

For thousands years, the world societies had enjoyed trade. People and nations have traded their
product from one country to another and many nations have enjoyed the easy way of exchanging of
goods and services without restrictions. However, after the world war one Free trade has been crippled
due to free trade restrictions called trade protections. Trade protectionism is defined as the use of

main trade protectionism is the use of tariffs. Tariffs are form of trade barrier by which government or

21. How Did Paul Revere s Ride By Henry Longfellow Differ
In contrast, the two documents Paul Revere s Ride, by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and the letter
from Paul Revere to DR. Jeremy Belknap are different because in the letter written by Paul Revere he
was encountered by British soldiers and people warned him of the British soldiers ahead of him and it
gives detail about where Paul warned people from one place to the other unlike the other article
written by Henry. The first reason the the two documents are different is because Paul Revere he was
encountered by British soldiers in the letter but in the poem there is not writing saying that he
encountered british. A quote to support this is I saw two men on horseback under a tree. When I got
near them, I discovered they were British Officers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That supports my reasoning. Another reason the poem and letter written about Paul Revere are similar
is because in the letter he is warned of British soldiers ahead of him by other people while there is no
evidence of this in the poem. A quote to support me is from the letter written by Paul Revere it states
While the horse was preparing, Richard Devens, Esq., who was one of the Committee of Safety, came
to me and told me that he came down the road from Lexington after sundown that evening; that he met
ten British Officers, all well mounted, and armed, going up the road. This quote is important because
in the quote someone is warning him of ten enemy soldiers ahead. There is no evidence in the reading
written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow this proves that the two documents because one reading has
something the other doesn t. Lastly, the two reading are different because in the letter it gives details
about where Paul warned people from one place to the other unlike the other article. A quote to
support this is from the letter it states In Medford, I awaked the Captain of the minutemen; and after
that, I told almost every house, till I got to Lexington [10]. This quote is important because it say how
far he went to warn people and how and a person he did

22. Cultural Differences In Deaf Culture
In most societies of today deafness is seen as a defect and a major disability. Helen Keller said, that
being deaf it was more difficult than being blind, Blindness cuts people off from things; deafness cuts
people off from people. (Harrington, 2000).
Many hearing people, might think of a deaf person as defected, or handicapped, and pity them, but
most people in Deaf communities do not think of themself as disabled or handicapped, they embraced
the way they are, and turn a physiological difference, in to something beautiful, creating what we
know today as Deaf culture.
Deaf people as a linguistic minority have a common experience of life, and this manifests itself in its
culture. This includes beliefs, attitudes, history, norms, values, traditions, art, and shared institutions of
communities that are affected by deafness and which use sign languages as the main means of
communication. (World federation of the deaf).
Deaf culture intersects with nationality, race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, education, gender,
etc. This leads to a culture that is small and also tremendously diverse, but unified by their own unique
characteristics which some of them are:
One of the main differences in Deaf culture is making the distinction between big D and little d in the
word deaf. When referred as Deaf culture, the word deaf is written with a capital D and referred to as
big D Deaf . When used as a label for the audio logical condition, it is written with a lower case d.

23. King Lear And Hamlet Essay
The concept of madness and those who suffer from its hold is something that is apparent in both
Shakespeare s Hamlet and King Lear, both plays treat madness in similar ways it is often not
understood by the characters, it is often feminized and there are characters who choose to assume
madness for their own specific reasons. Another similarity is that both plays have two central
characters that suffer from madness, each has one character whose madness is real and each has a
character whose madness is faked. It is said the mad characters in these plays are given a type of
freedom to do and say what they please and are able to speak a certain kind of truth that would not be
acceptable in their typically sane society. Though that statement ... Show more content on

Though Edgar is faking his madness it is for good reason due to the lies of his brother Edmund, Edgar
must evade his father s knights who are after him and he has lost his status and must right the wrongs
that have been committed against him. Edgar s presence on the beach strongly influences the madness
of King Lear, they play off each other s madness and both find a freedom in their mad speeches. What
do all of these four characters have in common? Their madness can be seen as a kind of freedom from
whatever constraints society may have placed on them or it is a freedom to get information without
any of questioning their motives. The main difference of these characters each of their madness is
influenced by something else. The characters who assume roles of madness do so for their own
reasons one must avenge their father s death while another must clear his name. The characters who
are truly mad are finally able to do and say as they please, even though it may not end

24. Personal Note On Computer Science Essay
1. WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN COMPUTER SCIENCE? HOW DID THIS LEAD YOU
TO MAJOR IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH WITH
YOUR DEGREE? IN YOUR ANSWER, PLEASE DESCRIBE HOW YOUR EXPERIENCES HAVE
INFLUENCED THE GOALS YOU HAVE FOR YOURSELF.
The world of Computer Science has always been a fascinating field to me. Right from elementary
school when I was taught about the evolution of computers, from the early counting mechanisms
using the abacus to the father of computer s difference machine and down to reinventions of various
concepts, to what we have now in our modern day world as efficiently serving computers. Also while
growing up, I had an Uncle who lived with my family for a while. He was always trying to solve
Computer Science related programs. In fact, his room at the time was like a Computer laboratory, with
lots of gadgets and resources like infrared enhancing equipment, CPU systems all dismantled into
little pieces, lots of books and encyclopaedias on how to be an excellent computer programmer, to
different things I could not comprehend at the time but knew they were out of this world.
My passion for Computer Science is not just because of its intriguing nature but also because evidence
of reinventions constantly show that anyone can make a difference or contribution no matter how little
that contribution may be, which is why I believe the field of Computer Science to be continually
evolving day after day. All of these helped to not just

25. Food Multitasking Persuasive Speech
Food is something essential to the life of a human. Humans have come so far from when they would
have to hunt and kill their food. We now have all these flavors we can make with food, seasonings,
and just simply fire. Yet we waste the way the food really tastes. How? You ask, by allowing our food
to rest within each other in an explosion of stupidity! We disrespect the art of eating by allowing the
food to touch and mix together. Allowing the food to touch is very disrespectful, and it shows
unserious we take the art of eating, which means you don t totally immerse yourself in the item you
allowing it to your mouth for consumption. Eating is something that takes dedication and cleanliness,
and most essential is of course organization. Food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the first thing you think of, on the Thanksgiving holiday that you re going to eat is obviously turkey.
Now the turkey is the middle or whole make up of your dinner just as you are the center of you
universe. The turkey must be cooked and prepped to a certain degree in order to get the most flavor
and memorable taste that the Thanksgiving turkey is supposed to have. The next thing that matters in
this glorious meal is the dressing; the dressing is something that can only be done a specific way that
allows it to be moist and most forthcoming of its amazing flavor. The dressing is something that helps

turkey is as money from your job can be to you. It helps you stay afloat and tasty. The

and their skeletal remains, as this led on Forensic Anthropology started to become known. The crime
rate in today society is dramatically rising. With the help of Forensic Anthropology people can help
solve crimes committed. When Forensic Anthropology became popular it made an impact on society
and everyone around the world, and still does today. To truly understand the complicity of Forensic
Anthropology you need to know: what is it, what they do in the field of work, and why it is important
to society.
Forensic anthropology is the study The analysis of human biological and cultural remains for legal

the human body as it helps figure out the severity of the accident. Determining a humans cause of
death is done by the help of forensic anthropology. There are many ways a scientist can determine the
cause of the of death. The process to determine a deiced human body usually involves an examination
on the skeleton remains. Their study of human remains aids in the detection of crime by working to
assess the age, sex, stature, ancestry, and unique features of a skeleton, which may include
documenting trauma to the skeleton and its postmortem interval (Forensic Anthropologist job

John Agard and Unrelated Incidents by Tom Leonard.
You can clearly see before you begin to read these poems that they are set out differently to your
average poem. For example in Unrelated
Incidents that there are no more than four words per poem. The punctuation in Unrelated Incidents is
based on the phanetic way of spelling, this means that you spell the way speak and pronounce words.
The poems is also meant to be spoken in a Glaswegian accent. In Half
Caste it s spelt and meant to be spoken in a Caribbean Patois.
In both poems they re defending the way that they are (The colour of his skin in Half Caste ... Show

He says he is interested in the political nature of voice in British culture .
The poem is carefully written in a phonetic version of the Glasgow accent. If you pronounce it exactly
as it s written, it should sound more or less like a Glaswegian voice. Tom Leonard has played with
language in a number of ways, apart from the phonetic spelling: there is almost no punctuation, there
are lots of slang and colloquial words like scruff and belt up , the newsreader talks directly to the
reader .
Tom Leonard is arguing that this is the way the media thinks about him. He believes that the media see
the viewers in Glasgow, or indeed the viewers in most other parts of Britain, as scruffs . Which isn t
fair and is a form of racism. The humour has a satirical edge, he uses humour to make serious
criticisms.
In the persona of the announcer he states that you wouldn t want him to give the news in any other
accent or dialect, because you wouldn t accept that it was true, a voice speaking in a working class
accent and using slang is given less credit and has less authority than a BBC voice. Halfe Cast
I think that the gentleman writing this poem (in a rather strange vernacular I own) is somewhat
confused.
To my mind half caste refers to one born of two parents, one of a race where the predominant skin
colour is black and the other typically white European, or white

28. Blindness In King Lear By Traglear
Life is all about sight in two senses. Our eyes present us with the world in its entirety bright lights and
dancing colors, evil foes and dark corners, and an unyielding perception of the truth before us.
However, the stark truth we see through our eyes excludes the forces our retinas cannot detect. No
matter how bright the sun, our eyes will never show us the shadowed intentions of another, and no
matter how vivid the coloration, our eyes can never perfectly paint the depth of someone s love.
Sometimes, as in the case of King Lear, a person s sight can blind them to the realities their eyes do
not reveal. King Lear s crooked sight not only leads him to misinterpret the intentions of his three
daughters and the sincerity of their affection, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

29. The Court System Of Civil Law And Common Law System
III The court system or the structure of court in civil law and common law system A The court system
in civil law systems The courts have divided according to public law cases and private law cases.
Courts in civil law countries are more specialized than in the common law. There are multiple sets of
courts and each has its own jurisdiction, hierarchy, judiciary and procedure, For example, in addition
to ordinary courts that deal with private law matters, there may be Labor Courts, Social Security
Courts, Commercial Courts, Administrative Courts and Agriculture Courts addressing public law
cases. Furthermore, the general rule is that private law problems are dealt with by the ordinary courts
and criminal law is also dealt with by ordinary courts, even though it rightly belongs in public law,
decisions of the ordinary courts can be appealed to Appellate Courts, at the head of the ordinary courts
(and above Appellate Courts) sits the Court of Cassation. This court decides on only questions of law
and the interpretation of statutes. It is purpose is to ensure uniformity in the law. It can either affirm
the ruling of the Appellate Court or declare the ruling to be incorrect. For example, Iraqi court system.
Iraqi civil law system has more than one type of court like many countries that practice civil law
system. The Federal Supreme Court is a modern court in Iraq, the Court is composed of a number of
judges, the FSC, must be enacted by the Council of

32. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Frequency Modulation
ANGLE MODULATION
Chapter Objectives
This chapter will help you to:
1. Define and explain the processes of frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM) and
state their differences.
2. Calculate the modulation index given the maximum deviation and maximum modulating frequency,
determine the significant number of sidebands in an FM signal, and calculate the bandwidth of an FM
signal.
3. Define pre emphasis and de emphasis, state their benefits, and show how they are accomplished.
4. Name the advantages and disadvantages of FM and PM compared to AM.
Angle modulation is a technique in which the angle of the carrier wave is varied according to the
instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. There are two types of angle modulation.
1. Frequency Modulation
2. Phase Modulation
Frequency Modulation: (Definition Introduction)
FM is a technique in which the instantaneous frequency of the carrier wave is varied according to the
instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. In other words if the amplitude of the modulating
signal increases, then there will be a corresponding increase in the frequency of the modulated wave,
similarly if the amplitude of the modulating signal decreases, then there will be a corresponding ...

As can be seen in Figure 3.1 (a) the modulating signal increases from its negative peak value during
this quarter, and at time t3 it becomes zero. This sinusoidal increase in the amplitude of the
modulating signal is mapped on to the carrier signal by increasing its frequency. At time T3, the
amplitude of the modulating signal is zero and hence there will not be any deviation in the carrier
frequency from its original value. Thus between time T2 and T3, the frequency of the modulated
carrier increases from its minimum value attained at time t2. This is shown in Figure 3.l(c) by
inserting more cycles during quarter III as compared to the number of cycles that occurred during the
quarter
