the University of Georgia, I find Mr. Disney's words to be quite true. Earning my biological
engineering degree is by far the most challenging goal I have ever set out to accomplish, but I have
found that over the years, my peers and the incredible faculty and staff at UGA have ignited in me a

I worked as a civil engineering intern with Carter & Sloope after my freshman year. In 2017, my
dreams came true and I spent 7 months as a Professional Engineering Intern at the Walt Disney
Company working with their Environmental Programs team on projects related to their energy,
water, and waste usage. I am now spending my last summer interning with Lockheed Martin
Aeronautics in Marietta, Georgia with their environment, health, and safety team. The experience I
have accumulated during my time at The University of Georgia has navigated me through new

Social constructivism is a worldview that argues that the nature of reality is based on the individual
and his or her beliefs and experiences. Gergen (1985) stated, "From the constructionist position the
process of understanding is not automatically driven by the forces of nature, but is the result of an
active, cooperative enterprise of persons in relationship" (p. 267). This perspective acknowledges
"historical and cultural biases" as primary influences on the construction of an individual's
worldview and suggests that "Descriptions and explanations of the world themselves constitute
forms of social action" (Gergen, 1985, pp. 267–268). As a social constructivist, I recognize that
when people tell stories of their lived experiences, certain phrases may be expressed through body
movements, facial expressions, and gestures, and these actions further illuminate what the individual

The term comes from the Greek "protokollon," which was the cover page to a manuscript that
provided a description of the contents...how fitting a choice. In context, it is defined by American

The military recognizes that respect for authority is what maintains order and prevents the eruption
of chaos and is hence willing to set an example for all who might be tempted to oppose their leaders,
by administering these punishments first hand without any judicial representatives. Furthermore,
Article 90 makes it clearly illegal to disobey an order by a military officer.
In society there has to be a guideline––something that regulates the conduct of people toward each
other. Just think of it in smaller terms, in a family environment. Mother and Father establish rules by
which children have to abide.
For example, when parents tell their children that they cannot scream and yell at each other they are
establishing with their children some (very important) protocol. It regulates the behavior of the
children––and as much is a huge factor in why positive protocol is so important. The conduct
between people in a society is better because of it. Since the children from the above example
establish guidelines not to scream and yell at each other, they in turn become more effective
communicators. This positions the children to contribute on a greater level later in life.
On a larger scale it sets the stage for an environment where that behavior is something that is not
desirable, therefore creating a new norm.
We can also take a stance here at the importance of protocol in an academic setting. It

Having everything in one place allows for more class time to collaborate and also allows for parents
to stay on top of their child's assignments and grades. First of all, tablets allow for parents to stay on
top of the child's schoolwork and frees up class time for collaboration rather than book work which

Etienne Provost was born in 1735 in Chamly, Quebec. Provost passed away July 3, 1850. Etienne
was described as a short, fat, and a very round man. Around 1841 he was involved in the St. Louis,

Currently, the college is in the stage of developing solutions. Of the different search methods
available, the College is utilizing the trap search and the active search. Outside vendors have been
brought in to demonstrate the services their products can provide. The focus of these products
varies, but all share a feature that provides students with improved degree planners and student
monitoring software. The similarities are outnumbered by their differences, however, which does
include cost. The selection/analysis process is not being conducted by a committee, but is instead
being conducted by the Associate Provost for Student Success. Since there is no committee, he is
inviting representatives from all the affected departments to observe the demonstrations from the
vendors and asking for feedback of on their opinions. This has created some tension among various
groups on campus. The reason for this is that some of the software demonstrated could completely
change resources that not all agree would be improved. When it has been determined that there are
options that meet the needs of the college and its students, a screening process will occur with the

We started our semester with the main goal of establishing UNITY Roundtable with an updated
version of constitutions and bylaws. After a couple of weeks of receiving feedback from the UNITY
Roundtable reps we settled and voted on the latest version of them. After that was completed,
Deshauna and I with the help of the reps we worked to recruit a SFAC Liaison and after several
weeks we elected Vincent Wan. He will oversee the allocation of next year budgets and make sure
the process and decisions is equitable and inclusive of multicultural organizations.
Through the semester, we came up with different long term goals such as creating a proposal for the
renovation of the three multicultural houses. To complete the research and plan we formed a
workgroup that will be chaired by Senator Carter. This working group is formed by three UNITY
Roundtable members and three Student Senators. They will research best practices from other
institutions and create a proposal that UNITY will vote on and present to the board of Trustees
during their spring gathering.
This semester was hard for students from marginalized communities, hence, most of UNITY's
organizations. Starting with the hate crime targeting two Latina students on campus. We reacted to

Admitted students with high need and lower probability of four–year completion, were de–
incentivized from matriculation by way of inadequate funding to support their enrollment. Students
most impacted by these changes in policy and practice were disproportionately from
underrepresented backgrounds and under resourced secondary schools, creating conflict between
