Jewish Enlightenment
The Haskalah, or Jewish Enlightenment was a movement that sought to rejuvenate the
Jewish way of life by synthesizing it with secular knowledge and reshaping it according
to Enlightenment values, appealing for reform in education and acquisition of secular
knowledge.
