Each ward is allocated Rs 2,000,000 annually by GoK.
GoI has extended a helping hand to the urban local bodies through Jawaharalal Nehru
National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
The JNNURM aims to encourage cities to initiate steps to bring about improvements in the
existing service levels in a financially sustainable manner. The primary objective of the
JNNURM is to create economically productive, efficient, equitable and responsive city.
