Bronx called Mott Haven, which is America s epicenter for the plague of pediatric

Another translation problem is the mention of the cup twice. As explained in the
NIV Archaeological Study Bible, The cup refers either to the first of the four cups
shared during the regular observance of the Passover meal or to the third cup. Stein
explains the four cups in a Passover meal and suggests that [i]t may have been the
third of these cups that Jesus used in the Last Supper while referencing Luke 22:20.
Although these are explanations, they do not necessarily prove or disprove Jesus
eating at a Passover meal.
A third translation problem is the word bread . The word bread in this verse comes

early 1930s to after World War II, with the anti heroism aspect. The contrasting

The Baylor University Concert Jazz Ensemble Directed By...
I attended the Baylor University Concert Jazz Ensemble directed by Alex Parker
on Tuesday, November 10th. This ensemble consisted of saxes, trombones,
trumpets, drums, a piano, and bass. The concert showcased many individual
talents by including solo s or duet s in every song. The program consisted of seven
songs with no intermission. The pieces I selected were Big Dipper by Thad Jones
and Undecided by Frank Mantooth. The composition Big Dipper by Thad Jones
consisted of a duet by Hunter Horby playing the tenor sax and Ryan McArthur
playing the trumpet. The tone of the piece was in major. It had a happy feel to it
and made you want to get up and dance. It was moderato in tempo, meaning it was
an average pace of beats. It kicked off with a quick crescendo from mezzo piano, or
medium soft, to forte, or loud. The tenor sax and the trumpet had the melody and the
rest of the instruments were the background musicfor most of the piece however, the
rest of the ensemble had their time to shine with the melody a couple of times. I felt
as if I was in the 1950 s listening to swing music and jazz. The texture felt dancelike
and brassy. Jones incorporated many accents and staccato markings throughout the
composition. The song had many contrasts with pitches and dynamics. Most of the
crescendo s and decrescendo s seemed to be directly related to the amount of

Albert Camus utilizes an existential philosophy, absurdism, in his story, The Stranger
. Absurdism is when humans live meaningless lives in an irrational universe.
Meursault, the protagonist in The Stranger , has an absurdist view to life, which the
story revolves around. Meursault s unique view of life is unique and different from
the ethics of the society. Absurdismplays a key role in Meursault s life as the absurd
suninfluences his actions while his absurdist philosophies make him a stranger to
society. The absurd sun physically weakens Meursault leading him to make irrational
decisions. The sun is symbolic in The Strangeras it presents the irrationality in
Meursault s universe. The sun is a recurring symbol in the story and the first
instance where it displays the irrationality in Meursault s world is when Meursault
is faced with the Arab at the beach as the sun was starting to burn [his] cheeks, and
[he] could feel drops of sweat...It was this burning that made [him] move forward
(58). Meursault encounters the Arab and the intense weather dictates his actions
and makes Meursault think irrationally. The use of the words made him show how
the sun dictates his actions, which is completely irrational. When Meursault is

weakens him physically as it is burning and leads him to step forward thinking he
could get the sun off of him, which is irrational. The irrationality of the weather

would be the end of it. But, the whole beach, throbbing in the sun, was pressing on

he needs to do is turn back; however he takes a few steps forward showing how the
sun dictates his actions. Furthermore, Meursault is physically weakened as the
intense heat was pressing on his back leading to his irrational thought to disregard his

In my research on child poverty, I read a scholarly journal entitled UNICEF Child
Poverty in Perspective Report: A view from the UK. In the journal they compared
the conditions of the children living across the world in the industrialized

People generally seek comfort in cults when that comfort cannot be found
elsewhere within their family, friends or community thus those who join tend to
be vulnerable, seeking a place where they feel safe and secure. But as they become

A World of Difference (Introduction): In the book The Universe Next Door written
by James Sire begins with a brief explanation of what a Worldview is. As stated in
the book by Sire, The essence of a worldview lies deep in the inner recesses of the
human self. A Worldview involves the mind, but it is first of all a commitment, a
matter of the soul. It is spiritual orientation more than it is a matter of mind alone
