Analyzing Ads Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "Analyzing Ads" can be quite challenging due to various reasons.
Firstly, the subject requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of marketing
strategies. Analyzing advertisements involves dissecting visual and textual elements to uncover
the underlying messages, intended audience, and persuasive techniques employed by advertisers.
This task demands not only critical thinking skills but also a certain level of creativity to interpret
the subtle nuances within the ads.
Moreover, the field of advertising is dynamic, and new trends constantly emerge. Staying
updated with the latest advertising techniques and understanding the cultural context is crucial
for a comprehensive analysis. This makes the research process time-consuming, as one needs to
delve into the historical and contemporary aspects of advertising to provide a well-rounded
perspective.
Crafting a coherent and insightful essay requires the ability to organize thoughts logically.
Analyzing ads often involves exploring multiple dimensions, such as visual design, rhetoric,
psychology, and sociocultural influences. Integrating these diverse elements into a seamless
narrative while maintaining a clear thesis can be challenging for writers.
Furthermore, the subject demands a certain level of subjectivity, as interpretations may vary.
Balancing personal insights with academic rigor is essential to produce a well-rounded essay.
Additionally, the writer must be adept at using language effectively to convey nuanced
observations and interpretations.
In conclusion, writing an essay on analyzing ads poses several challenges, including the need for
a keen analytical eye, staying updated with industry trends, managing a broad scope of
information, maintaining logical coherence, and navigating the subjective nature of
interpretation. Overcoming these challenges requires a combination of research skills, critical
thinking, and effective communication.

Compare And Contrast Canadian Culture Vs American
Culture
Canadas s culture is in many ways very similar to our culture in the United States.
This in part due to our proximity to one another. However despite the similarities of
our two countries there is some very distinct differences between the two. We as
Americans make several misconceptions about the large country to our north, which
are made out of ignorance. Such as the Title of this essay. In this essay I will provide
you with some brief history about Canadaand its establishment. As well as elaborate
on many key characteristics, holidays and demographics of that make up what it is
to be a Canadian. The name Canada is derived from the word Kanata which
translates to Village in the Iroquois language. The country of Canada is so large...

The largest ethnic demographic of the Canadian population are either English
Canadian or French Canadian, making up a staggering 80% of the population of
Canada. Most of the French Canadians located mostly in Quebec can trace their
lineage back to the first French colonial families. After whiles the second largest
ethnic group is Asians. Making up four percent of the population many of these
people migrated to Canada for their willingness to work for low pay in dangerous
conditions for the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Blacks make up
three percent of the population and are Canada s largest minority. Many of these
people are fairly recent immigrant families from Africa or the Caribbean, but there
is a small minority of black Canadians that can trace their roots to the millions of
African Slaved imported during the era of the Slave trade. Canada has taken the
stance that everyone is equal, and because of this multi culturalism has thrived within
the large country over the past 4 decades. Their brand of multiculturalism does not
impose a burden to assimilate into idealized norms of what a Canadian is. The
country which was once 97% white back in 1981, It now welcomes roughly 300,000
immigrants a year 80% of those are non white immigrants. Of course there is still
some level discrimination and social tension caused between the multiple cultures
that inhabit Canada, but it is their practice
The Plight Of Young Males
As discussed in a recent essay by Saul Kaplan The Plight of Young Males , there is
a serious academic gender achievement gap in the United States and as I will
discuss, around the world. Young women are doing significantly better than young
men, and the results are shocking. In the latest census, males make up 51 percent of
the total U.S. population between the ages of 18 24. Yet only 40 percent of today s
college students are men. Since 1982, more American women than men have
received bachelor s degrees. In the last ten years, two million more women graduated
from college than men. As Kaplan reveals, the average eleventh grade boywrites at
the level of the average eighth grade girl. He also states that women dominate high
school honor rolls and now make up more than 70 percent of class valedictorians.
Kaplan says, I am happy to see women succeeding. But can we really afford for our
country s young men to fall so far behind, (733)?
Historically boys were top of the class. Today that is no longer the case. A recent
article in The Economist discusses a 2009 study by the OECD (Organization for
Economic Co operation and Development) that examined how 15 year old boys and
girls performed in reading, mathematics and science. They found that girls are
performing better than their male classmates. This gender gap is worldwide. Girls
score higher than boys on tests measuring reading ability in every country in the
world (Loveless).
Why? According to the study
When I Respect Research Paper
Over the latter parts of my 18 years of existence I have gotten pretty good at people
watching. Therefore, I have become prone to know who I respect and those I don
t. The way one speaks, acts, and obeys has a strong influence on how they will be
first viewed. First impressions are very important and if one is saying mean
things, lashing out, or disrespecting my view of said person will more than likely
be negative. Overall, respect is a characteristic that is not simply received but
gained. Growing up my parents taught me to look at people and see their hearts,
not the clothes they are wearing or the shoes on their feet. This trait hasn t always
been easy to come by and by no means is it natural. Upon first glance of an
individual with a scouring look on their face, anyone would not think highly of
them, at least I don t. For all I know they could just be having a rough day or perhaps
received bad news but I don t think about that until after my wrongful judgement has
been made.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I tend to watch the actions of people I pass by and can t help but notice when
someone is on their phone, completely clueless to what is going on around them.
This makes it easy to be invisible to someone in need. I have zero respect for
someone who is unwilling to help another when they have the opportunity to make
a big impact. When someone is struggling, my first intention is to help and when a
passerby keeps walking I have a hard time to comprehend. This could be because of
how I was raised. Moreover, helping is not limited to assisting someone in need.
Not everyone is a genius, therefore, people need homework help and that is an easy
service to grant. Everywhere you look there is someone in need whether they admit it
or not. Being a person who is so self involved will get you nowhere in life but if you
humble yourself, you will be able to see the world for how it is and not how you
want it to

What is a referencing system?
A referencing system is a set of rules and principles that is used to attribute the
contributions of other authors within your own written work. This is achieved by
both acknowledging, and identifying the source of, the other authors work.
There are two parts to academic referencing: the acknowledgement (of the other
authors words and ideas) in the body of your text (the in text citation); and the
identification of their work in full at the end of your document (the end text citation
in the reference list).
Copying the words and ideas of others without acknowledging correct ownership is
called plagiarism. Plagiarism may result in failure of a unit or entire course, fines,
prevention from entry into professional associations and other disciplinary
Sacraments As A Critical Part Of The Catholic Faith
Sacraments Sacraments are a critical part of the foundation of the catholic faith, but
where did the sacraments originate? Our faith comes from the preachings of Jesus but
he never specifically described the sacraments and how to perform them. There are
seven sacraments in the catholic church and three initiation sacraments, which must
be completed in order to be a full member of the church. These sacraments when
completed together allow you t become one in God, but where do the sacraments
draw their power and how?
The first recorded baptism was performed by John the Baptist. John the Baptist is
Jesus cousin and was deemed the preparer for his cousin. John was called to
prepare for the coming of the lord and the kingdom of God as well warn people for
their ultimate judgement. John called on his followers to repent and make ready
their hearts for the Lord, this was accomplished through baptism. John would
immerse his follower in the river Jordan; however, in order for the sacrament to
have validity multiple essential things must first be accomplished. John s followers
must have complete faith in his message of the Messiah; they must also recognize
that this was a sacrament of repentance that must lead to change. Confession was
also a necessary part of John s baptism and ultimately repentance and the
forgiveness of sin. Through this process, one is able to be renewed in the Lord and
be prepared for the arrival of the Messiah and their final judgement. For by one
The Changing Faces Of Violence
The Changing Faces of Violence
Towan Cook
Georgia Gwinnett College
In essence, violence is the act of causing some degree of harm to your own body,
property, or another form of life. Like many words in the English language, there is
several definitions for one word. Likewise, violence has several definitions that
depend on the perspective in which the word violence is being viewed. When
looking at every aspect of violence, there are many events that at first would not be
considered violent, but in actuality are very violence for instance, sports. Everyday
somewhere around the world, men and women are paid to fight each other until a
knock out or decision is ruled. Violence also is seen on news stations, video games, ...

One reason why there are so many definitions for violence is because there are so
many ways to harm people. According to Violence: The Enduring Problem violence
also consist of protecting yourself from harm such as, using a firearm to defend your
family from an attack (Alvarez, 2007). Likewise, harm can be transferred to another
through physical contact, voice, and other physical actions. In the United States the
definition of violence has changed drastically over time. For example, it was not
long ago that in the state of Georgia a woman could have been raped by her
husband. When challenged in court, the Supreme Court of Georgia held that if a
women agrees to get married to a man then she thereby, agrees to always give
consent to intercourse (Warren v. State, 1985). Therefore in the state of Georgia
during this time, women could be raped by her husband. According to the law
neither crime nor violent act has been committed; however, the woman who was
raped probably would say otherwise, stating that she was forced to have sexual
intercourse against her will, which would constitute as being a violent act. Another
type of violence that has been shown to have very negative results on ones psyche
is verbal abuse (Gadit, 2011). The article titled, Verbal Abuse: Does it lead to Mental
Disorder? illustrates that children who are repeatedly exposed to verbal abuse often
grow up with insecurities, low

Research Topic Development of the Dark triad personality traits in adolescence
Research Question Does the development of the dark triad personality traits in
adolescence contribute as the main factor to juvenile delinquency?
As Humans, we are understood to have a higher degree of variance in our
behaviours than most other species and this has a significant impact on the way we
interact with others in society. My personal interest in behavioural studies and
criminology lead me to research more on the characteristics of adolescence in
relation to juvenile delinquency. Upon further research, I stumbled across the subject
of the dark triad , that focuses on three areas of ... Show more content on

The key findings so far have suggested that the psychopathic and narcissistic traits are
highly prevalent among adolescents. They also show factors leading to delinquency
which include callous unemotional and sadistic traits particularly in boys.
Disengagement is another factor that plays a large part in the emergence of
Machiavellianism at an early stage. These findings will be useful in locating a link
between these behaviours and if they can be the main reason for juvenile delinquency.
The gap in these research papers is that they have not yet looked into why it was
particularly boys that developed these traits were more prone to delinquent behaviour
than girls who did. Works Cited

1.1 Identify the differences between Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi and parasites.
The common characteristics of bacteria:
Bacteria are microscopic single cell organisms.
Different types of bacteria can be identified by their size and shape.
Bacteria can multiply outside the body.
Most bacteria need moisture, time, warmth and nutrients to survive and multiply.
Some bacteria are helpful.
Some bacteria produce toxins which cause unpleasant symptoms.
Most bacteria can be treated with antibiotics.
Some bacteria are resistant to antibiotics.
The common characteristics of viruses:
Viruses can only be seen with an electron microscope because they are so small.

2.1 Explain the conditions needed for the growth of micro organisms.
The main requirements for the growth of micro organisms are time and moisture,
some need oxygen and warmth, (although micro organisms can live without air and
live in temperatures from 0 to 40 + degrees).
2.2 Explain the ways an infection agent might enter the body.
Microorganisms must either attach to, or penetrate one of bodies surfaces. The site
through which a microorganism enters the body is called the route of entry. The skin
acts as a protective barrier, in order to cause infection the microorganism must break
through the protective barrier. they either do this through a natural opening such as
the mouth ,nose, ears, eyes, urethra, rectum or vagina, or enter through a unnatural
break in the skins surface such as cuts and grazes, bites or scratches. They can also
occur through a surgical wound caused by a operation. Also conditions such as
psoriasis or eczema cause breaks in the skin which microorganisms can enter.

The Importance Of The Mapping Project For A Better
Insight...
I received a call from an elderly shut in lady explaining that she had no access to
transportation and that there was some problem with her SNAP benefits that
month. She was in poor health and had specific dietary needs. Her friend, that
normally would help, was not able to take her to a local pantry. She wanted to know
if we would be able to bring just a little foodto tie her over until someone could take
her somewhere for food. Imagine the feeling of insecurity that this woman must have
been experiencing. This is just one of many calls the food bank receives. It is just
such a call that made the mapping project GMFB conducted so necessary.
The purpose of the mapping project was to gain a better insight into the counties

http://map.feedingamerica.org/county/2014/overall . USDA defines food insecurity
as a household level economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to
adequate food. While it may be the assumption that larger areas of food insecurity are
in the more densely populated areas, you can see that in areas of Lumpkin County
this not the case. In Union County it appears that food insecurity is not nearly as
prevalent. A deeper look will show that considering more factors is necessary when
determining need. Some of the counties GMFB services have large rural areas where
transportation can be a barrier as well as limited access to food sources near them.
Figure 1 below also indicates the locations of the agencies GMFB supports and gives
us a clear picture of how well we are meeting the areas of need as well as any gaps.
Dawson County appears at first glance as a county with a large area of moderately
high level of food insecurity in the northwestern part of the county and a smaller area
with a low level of food insecurity in the southeastern part of the county.
Notwithstanding, this is a very rural county where schools and social services are all
located in a central location. Limited transportation is a barrier for this county.
Limited access to transportation can in include no or limited access to public
transportation and/or no access to reliable transportation. Dawson County has limited
public transportation with only 4
Functionalist Perspective Of Education
The opening to chapter 13 begins with the experiences of various families that have
different problems with education that led them to the conclusion of homeschooling.
Education contributes to what is known as the credential society that we have today,
as the degrees earned in education determine jobs that people are eligible for. The
certification that education provides a person is used as evidence that the individual
is capable of certain tasks and has certain skills. The more developed a nation, the
more extensive an education that they provide their people, and this trend is seen
across Most Industrialized, Industrializing, and Least Industrialized Nations.
Education is seen in many different perspectives, especially amongst sociologists.
Functionalists focus on the major functions that education serves, such as teaching of
knowledge and skills, cultural transmission of values, social integration, social
placement, and mainstreaming. The conflict perspective, on the other hand, focuses
on how education reproduces the social class structure through unequally funding and
having schools exclusive to the elite. This is while the symbolic interactionist s
perspective focuses on the interaction of the classroom and how student performance
typically conforms to the expectations that the teacher has over them. Like everything
else in the world, education isn t perfect by far, as there are many problems, such as
mediocrity, grade inflation, social promotion, fake data, and
Ponyboy Character Analysis
Sometimes people judge a book by its cover. Ponyboy from The Outsiders was a
person that was judged by many people. He is in a gang, they call themselves the
greasers. They are poorer than the Socs and the middle class. When people see them
they immediately think, dirty troublemakers but they are more like a group of friends
hanging out. They are like one big family and very few of them from the gang
actually start trouble. Being that Ponyboy is a greaser, people think that he is a
troublemaker and a bad person but that is not the case. Ponyboy is a unique young
man that does not start trouble and does not like fighting. He is also a very good
friend. I can say that I am most like him because I find that we have very many
things in common when it comes to identity and personality. He is a nice person
who s smart in school and that is what sets him apart from the rest of his gang.
Although he may not think properly when he s out of school and it leads him to
trouble, he still keeps his good grades and respect towards others.
Ponyboy is a very good friend. He has a friend named Johnny who is also a greaser.
Johnny is going through so much throughout the story. He runs away from his home
because he heard his mother and father fighting like they always do. He goes to the
park and he says, I can t take much more. I ll kill myself or something. Johnny hated
that his parents fought so much and he didn t want to be around it. His parents were
neglectful and abusive, both
The Major Differences Between Democratic,
Authoritarian,...
The major differences between democratic, authoritarian, and anarchic political
systems are who holds the power, who has freedom/how much, and how much
involvement the government has in the workings of its country. For authoritarian
states, the power is held mainly by a single person or an elite group of people, few
people have freedom, with what freedom they have being limited, and the
government, or rather the leader/leaders, is involved in almost every aspect of the
country from controlling the economy to making decisions for the lifestyles of its
citizens like deciding how many kids they may have or what hair styles are
approved. Everything is at the whim of those in charge and can change at any
second. Anarchic is the exact opposite of this. In an anarchic government, everyone
has power all the power they can take for themselves, nothing is unpermitted as there
are no laws and since a government doesn t exist, it can t have any involvement in
anything. Finally there is the democratic system which is a happy medium between
these two extremes. In a democracy, everyone has some power through the right to
vote directly or for elected officials who will run the country (who are limited by a
constitution of some kind), everyone has freedom within the country s generally
reasonable laws, and government involvement is limited to making laws and
regulations within reason to protect its citizens, economy, etc. For example, you
would not see a democratic nation forbidding speaking

Written by Horatio Alger, in the late 1800 s, hit upon the most important topic in
America at the time; the American Dream. The American Dream, being the idea
that everyone, from all walks of life, can come to America and be successful, in
any way in which they want to, so long as they have hard work and determination
to do so. Ragged Dick for filling this Dream by making his way up in society, and
eventually making a wealthy man of himself. The first was that fact that no one
should give up. Through all of the hardships Dick was put through, including the
loss of his parents, the misfortune of receiving no education, and the fact that he
lived on his own for most of his life. Another important topic that was covered, was
that hard work pays off. In Dick s case, he worked hard at a boot black, treated people
with respect, and finally caught a break from his hard work, by receiving a high
paying job. The kind of people that would enjoy this story would be people of all
ages. No matter what age, or what level of education one may be, this story teaches
lessons that anyone can benefit from. It doesn t matter if a twelve year old boy, or
a fifty year old woman picked up Ragged Dick, because they will both benefit from
what the story speaks about. I think it is a heroic act to set up dream and tend to
achieve it, because there is a fine line between a dreamer and a successful person.
A dreamer is a person that day dreams without the aim of act towards it. But a
heroic person like what we have in the novel of Ragged Dick is that he worked so
hard and started from a very simple job a shoe shiner to finding a job to earning
more money helping himself to become a successful

Management And Processes Performance Metrics Essay
Freddie Mac is highly regulated by administrative policies and Federal Register
procedural guidelines of the Federal Register. When receiving massive amounts of
information on a daily basis it is difficult to sift through the information, match the
information to a specific program, and create the principal agents specific program.
What is this information tied to?
Freddie Mac s website articulates the organization s mission guidelines and strategic
plan. These guidelines are strict and heavily weighted by deadlines, procedures for
the reduction/elimination of marginal errors in delivery of a securitized loan to
Freddie Mac. As part of the interview and orientation process each principal agent is
required to systematically follow through the plan. For comparison of management
and processes performance metrics to Freddie Mac s best practices, a portion of the
delivery period is dedicated to a benchmarking process. Over the course of several
office visits, an assessment was conducted to analyze Freddie Mac s staffing,
policy, procedures and systems. The results were used to gauge the professionalism
and expertise of the principle agent. Additionally, the organization s goals and
objectives were assessed to identify any factors that could potentially jeopardize the
success of its principal agent performance in reaching its goals and objectives of
submitting a fully funded loan within the required timeframe. It is less difficult for a
principal agent to adapt to Freddie Mac s
The Electoral System Of New Zealand Essay
The government in New Zealand is chosen via an electoral system, which currently
is the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) system. In simple terms, an electoral
system is a key component in making a government. Prime Ministers are only
successful under the MMP system if they have the required qualities that are needed.
This essay will talk about one such Prime Minister namely Helen Clark. Further, it
will provide an insight to the MMP electoral system as opposed to the First Past the
Post (FPP) electoral system. The essay will then differentiate between the required
leadership qualities under MMP and FPP electoral systems. The essay will also
shower some light on Helen Clark s leadership under the MMP electoral system. It
will then conclude by determining whether Helen Clark was successful under MMP
or not and whether she possessed the required qualities of successful prime ministerial
leadership under MMP system.
To start with, Mixed Member Proportional electoral system was chosen by the legal
voters of New Zealand in a binding referendum that was initially started in 1992,
where it obtained an astonishing 85% support. The second electoral referendum
was carried out in 1993 and MMP got 54% support. Upon this referendum, New
Zealand s new electoral system was embraced. (The Road to MMP 2012, p. 3) Prior
to 1993, the predominantly used electoral system was the First Past the Post system.
Under the FPP system, each voter has one vote and the candidate who receives the
most votes

SEC v. Graham, No. 14 13562 (11th Cir. May 26, 2016), reached an important
decision. The court extended the reach of 28 U.S.C. В§ 2462, the five year statute of
limitations for any civil fine, penalty, or forfeiture applicable to enforcement actions
by the Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ). The court held that SEC
enforcement actions for declaratory relief and disgorgement were subject to the five

by the Supreme Court, Gabelli v. SEC, 133 S. Ct. 1216 (2013), which held that 28
U.S.C. В§ 2462 applied to SEC civil penalty actions.

Analysis Of The Movie Runaway Love By Ludacris
Music is part of everyday life and serves as the center of many cultures across the
world. Music brings out the best parts of a movie, a car ride, or even a special
event. The purpose of music varies from artist to artist and different cultures. Every
piece of music carries a unique message, but a song, in particular, carries meaning.
Runaway Loveby Ludacris, featuring Mary J. Blige, exploits the struggles of young
girls by using rhetorical techniques, such as pathos, ethos, logos, tone, and visual
rhetoric throughout the music video to raise national awareness about youth runaways.
Christopher Bridges was born in 1978 in Champaign, Illinois where he spent the
first twelve years of his life before moving to Atlanta, Georgia with his family
(Ludacris). During this time, Christopher was introduced to hip hop music,
attended Banneker High school, and dropped out of Georgia State University to
follow his dream. The aspiring rapper landed a radio internship that eventually led
to his major break into the music industry. Because Christopher needed a stage
name, he came up with Ludacris because he declares part of him is calm, cool, and
collective, while the other side is just beyond crazy (Ludacris). The timing was
impeccable as the fresh rapper stepped into the music scene when the music industry
was focused on the Dirty South Sound that was taking over the music charts
(Ludacris). Ludacris was the first artist to sign to the new Def Jam Records. The

Diagnosing and Treating Illness with the Imaging...
The study of radiology involves the use of imaging technology to diagnose and treat
an illness. The method most commonly used to diagnose is projection radiography
which produces radiographs by transmitting X Rays through the patient to create an
image. Other forms of radiology that are used to diagnose include CT scanning,
Ultrasounds, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Fluoroscopy, and Nuclear Medicine.
The story of radiology started in 1895 when Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen made the
discovery in November of 1895. While working with his Cathode Ray generator
Röntgen noticed the ability to view an image using electromagnetic radiation. To
test his discovery Röntgen performed an X Rayon his wife s hand which revealed
that the ray could pass through human tissue leaving the bones and metals to show.
In December of 1895 Röntgen published his manuscript On a New Kind of Ray to
the Wurzburg Physical Medical Institute. His discovery was quickly transmitted

What Are The Advantages Of Acrylic Mugs
Plastic Acrylic
Using promotional acrylic and plastic mugs is a practical way of marketing your
business since the products will be appreciated by the recipients who ll use them on
a daily basis.
Difference Between Plastic And Acrylic
Plastic is a general term for material consisting of a wide range of synthetic and semi
synthetic organic compounds that are malleable, hence can be moulded into different
solid objects. Depending on the chemical process used in their synthesis, different
types of plastic can be made, characterised by their hardness, resistance to heat, tensile
strength, density and glass transition temperature. One such type is acrylic plastic.
Acrylic is moulded plastic that has great clarity and transparency, making it a great
substitute for glass since it s also shatter proof. You should however be careful
when handling acrylic mugs because they could crack or break when dropped. This
type of plastic is safe to use given that it s BPA free, and will not yellow with time.
Additionally, its colours are weather and sunlight resistant, making it a high quality
material for personalised promotional mugs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This makes them ideal promotional items which Santa can distribute to kids during
office Christmas parties. Parents will definitely appreciate them because they ll not
only last long, but will be appropriate kids drinkware. Plastic mugs are also scratch

Bobby Flay Research Paper
Do you ever get tired of being an ordinary person? Living the same boring life
everyday? Going to school, going home, day after day.Do you ever wish that you
could just switch lives with someone? Even just for a day? I do. If I got to switch
lives with someone I would want to switch lives with Culinary chef Bobby Flay.
One reason is because Bobby Flay is a chef that has worked hard to become so
famous. His first restaurant Mesa Grill in 1991 became an automatic hit . He first
began working in a restaurant shortly after finishing school. He was called in by his
father a manager at Joe Allen s restaurant one day to fill in for a busboy. He soon
started working there full time. His boss later on payed for him to attend culinary

Usually I don t like having all the attention on me but if I were Bobby Flay then the
attention would be because of my food. Bobby Flay has been on many shows
including Throwdown with Bobby Flay , Worst cooks in America and Grill it .I
think if I had to replace Bobby in any of his shows it would be Worst Cooks in
America because in the show Bobby is a mentor who teaches people who don t
know how to cook how to handle and prep all kinds of food. This goes to show that
Bobby is such a good cook that people are willing to listen and learn from him. If i
were Bobby Flay then I could teach people kitchen people and they would
hopefully they would want to use them the way that they want to use Bobby Flay
s. Another reason I would choose to switch places with Bobby Flay is because he
doesn t have a very good reputation and if I changed it then I would be taken more
seriously then Bobby Flay. Bobby Flay dropped out of highschool at 17 giving
himself a rough start at life. Even Though he was able to get later schooling attending
a Culinary school I would consider him
Examples Of Mature In Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet are believed to mature throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet , but
in reality, their sophistication did not change at all. At the beginning of the story, they
both threatened to kill themselves because they didn t get what they want but by the
end of the story, they actually took their lives. Being mature consists of being
responsible, and acting a few years over a current age. Romeo and Juliet were not
mature with their relationship. They got married in a matter of hours. These reasons
make Romeo and Juliet not mature, although they were believed to mature somewhat
throughout the play/book. Romeo and Juliet are considered to be royal rich kids who
get what they want, but one thing they can not get is an either
Grey s Anatomy As A Medical Drama
Grey s Anatomy is a medical drama that focuses on the personal and professional
lives of the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Over twelve seasons Grey s
Anatomy has had many controversial and spiritually based storylines. Women
make up the majority of the shows demographic. One of the most explicitly
religious episodes aired as the thirteenth episode of the ninth season, aptly named
Bad Blood. It focuses on a nineteen year old boy named Rich who is brought to the
hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by a car while skateboarding
with a friend. Christina, a cardiac resident, is the surgeon in charge of his case,
Rich had lost a lot of blood and Christina first order was to have some hung. Just at
that moment something falls to the floor and Christina s resident Leah picks it up,
its Rich s medical ID stating he is a Jehovah Witness. Christina automatically
ordered the nurse to stop hanging the blood, stating they could not give him blood
because he is a Jehovah s Witness. Jehovah Witnesses believe that blood is sacred
and a representation of life, so that to take blood they would be disrespecting God,
the Giver of Life. (Bible Questions Answered, 2015) Their belief comes from
scriptures in the New and Old Testament, Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:14 and Acts
15:20. In each, God commands the people to abstain from blood and to not consume
blood or else they would be cut off. (Bible Questions Answered, 2015) It must be

The two major players are YPF, a state owned company with approximately half of
crude oil production, and PAE, a private company with approximately 19% of total
oil production in Argentina. PAE currently operates one of Argentina s largest
hydrocarbon producing fields, Cerro DragГіn field.

Major Reserves
Argentina s current proven oil reserves are estimated at 2.4 billion barrels and
unproven reserves are estimated at 27 billion barrels of shale oil and considered to be
fourth largest in the world. Despite that, Argentina has low level of oil production,
which has been declining during past several decades. In 2016, it extracted 693,000
barrels per day (b/d), of which 489,000 b/d was from crude oil and 112,000 b/d was
from natural gas plant liquids.7
Main oil deposits are in NeuquГ©n Basin, Gulf of San Jorge, Northeast, Austral

for 60% of 27 billion barrels of shale oil and it is in preliminary stage of
development and remains vastly untapped. 7 Analysts estimate that YPF is expected
to need up to $200 billion to fully exploit the formation. XTO plans to invest up to

Making A Good Compensation Plan

Video Games May be Able to Help Essay
There is a common misconception that video games brainwash kids and do
nothing but damage their intellect. Although that is not the case, video games have
been proven to improve one s everyday motor skills and even improve vision.
Some parents may believe that their son/daughter will grow up to be some sort of
lonely psychopath due to video games, but that is not the case. The truth of the
matter is that video games do little to no damage to kid s brains. There are many
more things that improved rather than decreased. There is even scientific evidence to
support of this. With tests showing gamers develop the ability to use the smaller and

Daphne Bavelier says It s not the case that the action game players are trigger happy
and less accurate; they are just as accurate and also faster. Action game players
make more correct decisions per unit time. If you are a surgeon or you are in the
middle of a battlefield, that can make all the difference (Current Biology 2). All of
these aspects can improve one s everyday life. There are many basic skills that are
improved due to these aspects, such as driving, reading, navigating, multitasking,
listening, and locating; which are all essential to one s everyday life. Pure science
also backs up this theory with proof of gamers brains using a smaller and faster
portion to process data. Gamers use their frontal cortex, which is already naturally
faster than the parietal cortex that non gamers use (Brain Power 3). The frontal
cortex is a surprisingly small portion of your brain that processes and makes
suggestions based on the data it receives. Similar functions were found in
musicians who play the guitar or the piano, in which they need to have fast
reactions to be able to process all the notes that they are hitting.(Brain Power 3)
Non gamers use the part of their brain called the parietal cortex, which takes up a
larger portion of one s brain that is less complex and takes longer to process things.
Not only is the parietal

Similarities Between Inca And Aztecs
DBQ 5 Inca and Aztec Comparison Throughout the early fourteenth and fifteenth
centuries C.E., empires such as the Chinese and Byzantine thrived and prospered.
South and Mesoamerican cultures such as the Aztec and Inca arose at this time.
These cultures grew to become very advanced, each inventing a wide selection of
technologies to suit their social and economic needs. The economic characteristics of
the Aztecand Inca Empires were similar in agricultural focus and an importance of
trade; however, they differed in their governmental organization. The Aztec and Inca
economies and technology focused directly on agricultural trade products. Document
two provides visual representations of Aztec chinampas, which were floating islands
approximately seventeen feet long and one hundred to three hundred thirty feet wide.
These chinampas were used as an irrigation technique, allowing the Aztecs to produce
four crops a year. The Aztecs built thousands of acres of chinampas, as they allowed

Document one depicts the extent of Inca road systems, which covered the western
coast of South America. The Inca used these roads to transport goods to South and
Mesoamerican cultures. The Inca constructed this vast road system to ensure
connection to other civilizations to maintain the goods that their people needed,
though they were not the only culture that relied heavily on trade. As recorded by a
travelling conquistador, the Aztecs were seen daily buying and selling, and where
are found all kinds of merchandise produced in these countries, including food
products, jewels of gold and silver, lead, brass, copper, zinc, bones, shells, and
feathers, (document 7). Trade was the center of Aztec life. They traded their goods
for items like vanilla and rubber from surrounding countries, which was the basis of
their economy, along with tributes from conquered lands,
Gods and Immortals in Marilyn Todd’s Bad Day on
Mount Olympus
Marilyn Todd s Bad Day on Mount Olympus , retells the stories of Roman, Greek
God s and immortals, in a modern day language.
The first myth system to note is the story of Io, in which Zeus, King of the gods, is
unfaithful to his wife Hera, with a maiden named Io. Zeus does not want his wife to
find out about this, so he turns Io, into a heifer so as Hera will never see her. Jupiter
thinking he s best get in first, if he s looking to protect the girlfriend, so... spotting
a herd of cows on the hill, quick as a flash, he turns her into a heifer. This shows he
does want to protect Io, however, we see his cowardly ways by him not telling Hera
in the first place. In other interpretations of the story, we see Io get turned into a
beautiful white cow and also Zeus disguising the River Nymph as a cow meaning
she can blend among a herd. The effect of doing this changes the tone of the story, in
a sense of making it more comical to readers, instead of it being about betrayal and
trust.
The second myth system to note is Hercules and the Thespian Lion. When
Hercules was 18 he killed the Thespian Lion, because it was part of his Twelve
Labours in which he must abide by as penance for killing family, and once he
completed all of these, Hercules was a free man once again. When Hercules killed
the Lion, he wore the fur for the rest of his life, and we have mention of this in Todd
s story, no one wears the full Lion s pelt on a sweltering day like this without
courting some sort of

I can t believe how much time has gone by. This was my first thought when I
looked at the clock on my laptop screen. I had done it again. I was researching a
topic we had discussed that day in history, and I got side tracked. Instead of just
reading what needed to be read, I dug even deeper into the subject, reading article
after article on The Renaissance. Why did I have to be so fascinated with The
Renaissance? I asked myself. I could have this entire assignment done by now. I
looked down at the worksheet, and I had only done half of it. I laughed at this
because I knew all the answers. Well, I guess all that researching was worth it. I

He is known as The Renaissance Man because he was a jack of all trades, including
artist and scientist. He is the first person who accurately depicted and documented
human anatomy. His medical journals became the basis for what we know
commonly today as Gray s Anatomy. Without his curiosity of the human body, we
might not have the same knowledge as we do today. History shapes every subject we
take in school, not only science. We have art and music history, the history of
language, psychology, as well as others, and of course, the history of history itself.
In conclusion, my love for European history engulfs me. I love reading about it and
watching documentaries about it. I have my own collection of books on it that I
bought to further my learning and education of it. It has also influenced my career
path because I m considering a major in history. I am thankful for my love of history
because I have learned so much about other cultures, societies, and even civilizations.
History enriches our lives and expands our minds and our experiences, both real and
vicarious. Knowing the past and embracing it will, hopefully, point us to a bright
Risk Assessment Strategy
1. 3 Risk assessment strategy
Currently, several approaches are in use to assess the risk of compounds which
are genotoxic and carcinogenic. One of the approaches advised by European
Commission is using as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). However, no risk
manager to set priorities for action concerning the urgency was provided (25). Since
data on genotoxic and carcinogenic potency from human are rarely available, data
from animal study exposed to high dose levels of compound are often used, which
then extrapolated using a wide range of models to the lower doses in which human
are exposed. Nevertheless, the models to extrapolate the dose often resulted in
different conclusion for the same compound. Therefore, the margin of exposure

These chemicals may act jointly which can affect the level of toxicity (addition,
antagonism, potentiation, synergies, etc.). Several approaches, such as dose addition
and response addition are being used to assess the risk of mixture compounds.
However, three key concepts must take into account to assess the chemical mixture:
toxicological and mode of action similarity; similarity of mixture compounds
independent of action; and assumption of additivity (27). Based on the key
concepts mentioned above, dose addition approach is used to assess the risk of
mixture compounds which has similar toxicological effect and mode of action. In
this approach, relative potency factor (RPF) and toxicity equivalence factor (TEF)
method are being used if the mechanism of action are well understood, whereas
hazard index (HI) methods is being used if mechanistic data are not available (27). To
determine the RPF values, the potency of the compound was calculated in relative to
an index chemical, a well characterized chemical based on toxicity studies of the
effect and the exposure condition of interest in assessment. In TEF method, the
determination of the cumulative impact of the mixture was done using concentration
of each chemical and the appropriate TEF based on extensive mechanistic
information that shows all the toxic effects of concern share a common mode of
action (28). Hazard index, the last method used in dose addition approach, is derived
from sum of the exposure measures for the mixture component chemicals

Tennessee Williams And The Great State Of Tennessee
On March 26, 1911 the human version of the great state of Tennessee was born in
Columbus Mississippi. His name was Thomas Lanier Tennessee Williams.
Tennessee was one of the most amazing playwrights of the 20th century. Although
he was one of the greatest playwrights of his time he had to endure many obstacles
throughout his lifetime. He had to deal with the complicated marriage that he had
with his wife. Also his parents marriage was very strained, and caused problems in
his life as well. Tennessee s father was an alcoholic, and was often times very
violent. Also as a child Tennessee Williamsalmost lost his life to a very serious
disease. As a result of Tennessee Williams flaws, obstacles, and determination he
went on to become one of the greatest playwriters of the 20th century.
To start with, Tennessee was born on March 26, 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi he
was the second child of his siblings. According to the New York times article
(2014), Tennessee suffered from a bad case of Diphtheria in which he almost died.
This incident left Tennessee weak, and he was confined to the house for almost a
year. Tennessee s father was an alcoholic, and often times had a very bad temper
(New York Times 2014). I think that Tennessee s father drinking problem effected his
life in a big way. Tennessee often times had to move around a lot due to his father s
drinking problem when he was 16 years old he won his third prize for an essay that

A Picture Of The Shadows
A Picture of the Shadows: A Discussion of How Chiaroscuro Illustrates
Remembering and Forgetting in In the Skin of a Lion
In the novel, In the Skin of a Lion, Michael Ondaatje uses the motif of chiaroscuro, or
the relationship between light and shadow, to illustrate the themes of remembering
and forgetting. A motif is a narrative element that reoccurs throughout a narrative, an
idea that has a symbolic meaning. As described by H. Porter Abbott, it is not
abstract but a concrete idea, which moulds the theme of a literary work. The concept
of chiaroscuro, or shadow play, originally comes from painting, and is used to
characterize works in which the darkness strongly contrasts with the light. In other

7). He also witnesses the dark horrors of these workers dying of pneumonia or from
the sulphur in their lungs from the mills (pg. 8). This is our first glimpse through
Patrick s eyes at the horrors the working class historically faced. Even in the
Countryside, where there is little light from development, there is a lot of danger as
death spreads its shadow alongside the dimmer light of development and progress.
Patrick s own father, a self taught explosives expert, is killed in a mining accident.
Here both the metaphorical light, progress and industry, and the literal light, the
dynamite explosions, cast the shadow of death onto Patrick s father, to remind the
reader how many lives of workers were sacrificed for development. No one
remembers their contributions except for their closest family members.
Despite the country shadows such as the death of Patrick s father, a clear contrast is
drawn between light and shadow in urban versus countryside environments. Patrick
is seen reminiscing about his father and recalls the old skill he learned from his
father... in the sunlight, in rivers (p. 107). He contrasts his current work in the dark
tunnels, the terrible place where he feels banished from the world (pg. 107), to the
outdoor logging work he did in his hometown, contrasting the positive sunlit
memories of his childhood with his darker struggles,

This is by no means the lowest accomplishment in the history of the
Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP). The lowest recorded was
59,495 hectares of land distributed in 2009 because of the uncertainties brought
about by the transition to implementing Republic Act No. 9700. The second lowest
was 97,795 hectares, recorded in 2003. Last year alone, the Department of
Agrarian Reform (DAR) distributed 111,889 hectares of land nationwide, which is
slightly higher than the 107,180 hectares distributed in 2010. The DAR completed
the acquisition of 18,414 landholdings with a total area of 120,286 hectares for a
gross accomplishment rate of 60 percent. Of this area, 8,397 hectares are exclusions
from the same landholding and retention areas of landowners. Thus, 111,889
hectares were actually distributed to 63,755 agrarian reform beneficiaries. The total
area that is still to be distributed (called the Land Acquisition and Distribution or
LAD balance) totals 961,974 hectares from 107,639 landholdings. Around 93.58
percent of the LAD balance (900,188 hectares) are private agricultural land; almost
85 percent of the LAD Balance (816,491 hectares) are LBP compensable. Therein
lies the challenge. The large portion of previous accomplishments are acquisitions
that are easy : government owned lands, voluntary land transfers, and voluntary offer
to sell. These are the less tedious and less

suddenly flee Paris to a safer town, Saint Malo, because of the beginning of World
War II. Not only do they have to travel all the way to Saint Malo, but Monsieur
LeBlanc has to carry a diamond that may or may not be the famous Sea of Flames
diamond and Marie is completely blind. Through their journey to Saint Malo and
beyond, Marie Laure puts faith in others to take care of her, while Monsieur
LeBlanc has faith in Marie to take care of the possible diamond he left her, and
Marie has to learn to trust her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You re leaving. Aren t you, [father]? I won t be long, Marie. A week. Ten days at
most (Doerr 189). Little to his knowledge, he will not come back to Saint Malo in
a week like he thought, but he will be detained and questioned about the diamond
as if he were a criminal, leaving Marie to take care of it for much longer than
expected. When he gives the diamond, secretly concealed inside of a model house,
to Marie he does not know what is going to happen to himself, but he knows she is
the person he can put his faith in to take care of it. Marie holds true to taking care
of the diamond for her father, even to the extreme extent when she is threatened
over it, because she understands the great faith her father put in her. During the
time Monsieur LeBlanc spends in the prison he continues to express the faith he
has in Marie keeping the Sea of Flames safe when he spends time praying for her.
Every hour is a prayer for Marie Laure. Every breath (Doerr 197). Through all of
the uncertainties of if he will ever even get to see Marie again, Monsieur LeBlanc
remains completely certain that he chose the best person to take care of the diamond
and that Marie will always make wise decisions regarding its
What Has Been The Most Important Event In Their Life
1. Give a brief introduction about your person. Who are they, what do they do, where
do they live, what is important to them, etc.?
As Small explained, Palu or Emma is the one who left her family to live her own
life and dreams. She was one of the daughters of Atu. At one point, she worked at a
credit union due to her father and his connections. There, she made about $5 which
is decent. Overtime, she worked her way up to become the secretary. Palu did not
like the job. Her only reason for staying is the money she gets from Atu which is
$20 and the allowance from her job as secretary which is $30. Currently, Emma, she
prefers to be called by her American name, lives in The United States along with her
non Tongan boyfriend Greg. Her first part time job in the us was work in a
mailroom where she made $10 an hour (Small 93).

Within two years in her part time job, she managed to accumulate money to pay
for a used car and her own apartment (Small 94). without this migration, she would
continue to live as the quiet and dutiful child of Atu and Malia (Small 88). In
America, she learned how to fend for herself. She did not enjoy the fact that a
Tongan elderly was taking advantage of her modesty. She used to let her borrow
money in which took a year and few months to pay back. She would buy food for
herself and the lady and they would eat together. Now, they alternate in buying lunch
which seemed to prove to be more equal (Small
Leslie Marmon Silko s The Man To Send Rain Clouds
Ever since we can remember, the water cycle has been a part of our life. No matter
where we are, we can see the spectacle continue its infinite loop in nature. From
evaporation to the runoff that awaits to begin the cycle again, we have constantly
trained and memorized the importance and resourcefulness of the water cycle
through schooling. In Leslie Marmon Silko s The Man to Send Rain Clouds, Silko
illustrates the different stages of the water cycle symbolically throughout the story.
The first place we can catch the symbolic usage of the water cycle (mainly
evaporation) is in the first section labelled Part One . The paragraph starts out with
They found him under a big cottonwood tree, (Silko) him being Teofilo. The tree that
is mention... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To start us off, in section two they start preparing Teofilo for burial as well as
things they will need. The first thing they start to do to prepare is set the clothes
they will change him into. ... and a new brown flannel shirt and pair of stiff new
Levis were arranged neatly beside the pillow (Silko). In sequence with the facepaint
in section one, the brown of the flannel can represent dirt and the Levis are the
ground water buried deep within the ground. This could represent the look of nature
after precipitation, after the cycle begins to end, which I find kind of correlates with
Teofilo lifecycle.
Furthermore, in the third section is the condensation. Though the funeral ended
this is where the climax builds up the next section coming forward. The symbolism
in this section is when Louise asks for holy water to give Teofilo. About the priest
sprinkling holy water for grandpa. So he won t be thirsty, (Silko). The holy water
can represent the start of the gathering of water that defines what condensation does.
Once the priest comes to give the holy water he will then sprinkle it like
precipitation on the old man so he won t be thirsty . Hence, the reason why I say
buildup of climax like
Leadership Is Intangible, And Therefore No Weapon Ever...
As an Air Force ROTC cadet, I am required to learn a number of quotes during my
training. One from General Omar Bradley connects to what I have learned as a
student in Exploring Strengths: Leadership is intangible, and therefore no weapon
ever designed can replace it. Although my strengths are intangible, gaining an
understanding of what they are and how I can develop them not only gives me a
weapon against mediocrity, this knowledge of my strengths will assist me in
becoming the kind of officer, leader and person I want to be. My first strength is
Relator. Relators want to make connections on a deep level with people. This
strength values the intimacy of relationships. It allows you to draw strength from
being around your close friends and family. This past July, my Relator strength
was very valuable to me as I went to Air Force ROTC Field Training, which is
essentially the officer equivalent of basic training. During this difficult 24 day
experience, my Relator strength helped me form strong bonds with my entire flight
of seventeen cadets within the first few days. My second strength is Harmony. This
strength focuses on keeping people out of arguments so that the whole group can
work more successfully. Part of this strength is also having the patience and
flexibility to change your goals if arguing about them will damage the effectiveness
of the group. Those with the strength of Harmony are able to find what brings people
together and use it effectively. I was
Road King Trucks Case Analysis Essay
Abstract
This paper is an analysis of Road King Trucks new project which is introducing a new
product into its product line. I will decide whether run the project or not. Six issues
will be discussed as follows 1) importance of energy cost; 2) project s cash flows; 3)
cost of capital; 4) choose an engine 5) evaluation 6) accept or reject.
We should accept the project because of the positive NPV and high IRR. We will
gain $532 million in wealth which is a big money on the scale like this. The
company has a bond rating of AA that makes the risk relatively low. So we should
definitely say yes.
Issues
Importance of Energy Cost
Road King Trucks, Inc. is a truck manufacturing company. The new CEO Michael
Livingston arranged a meeting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The land was accounted for opportunity cost. If we don t run the project, we can sell
it and earn $6 million right now.
Cost of Capital (see table 2) I used WACC as the discount factor, we expect the rate
of return to be higher than it, the same at least. The WACC reflects the average risk
and overall capital structure of the entire firm [2]. It s the required return and it
presents how much the company pays for the capital it finances. In this case, the
cost of equity is 10.33%, the cost of debt is 6.50%. I calculated WACC using those
numbers and got a result of 8.49%.
Choose an Engine (see table 3)
There are two options for engines will be installed on buses. And so are the
warranties. The decision should be made according to engines quality,
effectiveness, etc. But to investors, cost is the main factor. In this case, Detroit
engine has an installation cost of $20,000 and a warranty of $1,000 each year for 5
years; the cost of installation of Marcus engine is $2,000 less but the warranty is
$1,500 per year. To figure out the cost I calculated the NPVs of each year for 20
years. The NPVs of the warranties for each bus are same at the year it been produced.
For example, the warranty of a Detroit engine has a NPV of $4,276 in the year it
been produced. (This method is coming from Mr. Hasse. I used to combine the
warranty for each year and use those numbers in calculation.)
The NPV of installation cost and warranty of Detroit engine is $252,154,
The Death Of Puerto Rican Immigrants
In 2009 after the retirement David Souter from the Supreme Court president Obama
appointed Sonia Sotomayor as the replacement judge. The judge is the daughter of
Puerto Rican immigrants...She is a first Generation Americans. According to multiple
multiple American news outlets such as CNN, Fox News, Msnbc, etc. To these news
outlets this was the info that was groundbreaking the daughter of immigrants was
both groundbreaking to the media as well as inspiring. The true definition of what
the American dream stands for.The media thought the info was important enough
that they covered this story on the top of the newshour , and relayed this
information to people of the the US as a matter of fact. Yet this claim was false and
the truth being that her parents aren t immigrants didn t it wasn t before 1917. Yes it
is true that Judge Montemayor is born of people who came from Puerto Ricobut
according to US law established 1917 called Jones Shafroth Act people born in
Puerto Rico are US citizen as well as a person from any other state. So this doesn t
make her parents immigrants as multiple news outlets say. So all her parent s did
was move they didn t imigrate to a new country they like a lot of Americans moved
to a different place. Through this spread of false information the pride of puerto
ricans were angered. An example of this angerement came from my father the person
who is hardly takes offense anything. Was infuriated by the 60 Minutes news report
that he made me watch
Community Is The Goal Oriented Community
A community is an interacting group of various species and abiotic things that live
within the same location. Each community is different due to being comprised of
unique organisms and inanimate objects. The basic unit of community relies on
survival. As stated by de Waal, the primate community is a prime example which
displays how we perform innate behaviors to ensure our survival. The next level of
community is the goal oriented community. Goal oriented communities strive to
bring about change in their communities whether it be for better or worse. The goal
oriented community can be allotted into different categories. One type of an
ambitious community is that of associations as described by Tocqueville. The other
goal oriented community is that of the revolutionary community. This community
attempts to raise awareness about injustice found in a community and urges that
members of the community fight to make injustice cease to exist. The final stage of
community ends with the community that cares for the environment as a whole. Not
only does it care for the living thingsthat reside in the community, but it appreciates
the nonliving things that are found in the community as well. The nature loving
community recognizes that everything within the community is necessary to have
and to care for. Each of these communities start with having the need for survival but
become more complex until they are able to incorporate love in their communities.

Accolades In Beowulf
Heroes shouldn t seek accolades, heroes should stay humble and never be selfish;
not doing so makes you selfish and non heroic in every aspect possible. Risking
your life for treasure isn t worth it, it s also not what being a true hero is really about.
Definition of a hero summed into my own words a person who does selfless acts
without thought of reward. In the Story Of Beowulf all Beowulf wanted was
accolades, because of that Beowulf died selfishly instead of dying as a true hero.
Living a more modest life as a hero gets you remembered no matter what you did,
Neil Armstrong was the first guy to step foot on the moon; even though he did
such a big thing or big leap for the future of the country he still lived a very humble
life, thirty years later he s still remembered like it happened yesterday. When you
seek accolades you re the one losing, Beowulf seeked accolades his whole life and
he also lost his life fighting a dragon for some treasure, that really wasn t worth it,
it just doesn t make him a true hero, the dragon was not hurting anyone he risked
his life for the treasure and not the people which brings me back to my point you
shouldn t seek accolades because it does not make you the true hero, the real
reward is the feeling of helping the person in need or doing the extraordinary at the
end of the day that s all that really matters. On the other end of the scale heroes
could seek accolades, they deserve the reward for saving
Walmart Observation Paper
On May 16, 2018 at approximately 2319 hours, I observed a W/M riding a bicycle
into the parking lot of the Walmart located at 8701 US HWY 19 Port Richey, FL. I
observed the bicycle to not have a white light on the front of it. I maneuvered my
unmarked patrol vehicle (116) behind the bicycle and conducted a lawful traffic
stop on the W/M. The W/M was identified by his Florida identification card as Elias
Everett Horn. An NCIC / FCIC check was conducted through dispatch, which
revealed Elias to have an active warrant out of Pasco County Florida, for FTA
carrying concealed weapon. PRPD Dispatcher M. Rudy (989) sent for and received
confirmation reference Pasco County warrant # 2018MM000261MMAXWS.
Elias was placed under arrest and read Miranda from an agency issued card. Elias
verbally acknowledged he understood his rights and agreed to speak with law
enforcement. He denied having anything illegal on his person or in his backpack,
but stated he had found a black case on US HWY 19. He advised he put the black
case into his backpack, but was not sure what was inside of it.... Show more content

green leafy substance, which was field tested for marijuana with a positive result.
There was also a pipe and scale containing a small amount of marijuana. There was

pill was methadone or hydromorphone and he replied it was just something he took to

Teacher Relationship And Instruction
Interpretation of Results The results from the survey revealed new insightful
information from students in regard to the perceptions of the transition from middle
school to high school. The survey was composed of five distinct areas that were
overarching and broad. The goal was to use questions to discover the concerns and
issues that eighth grade students might have. The categories were: social interaction,
teacher relationships and instruction, academia, environmental factors and student
safety. Each category brought interesting and new information. The study found that
the area of teacher relationship and instruction was the highest area of concern as
perceived by students in the study. The area of academia was another area of high
concern for students. The study found the area of safety as the area of lowest
concern by students in the study. The areas of environmental factors and social
relationships while found to be areas of high concern scored well above the area of
safety, but well below the area teacher relationships and instruction and academia.
Teacher Relationship and Interaction The area of teacher relationship and interaction
was an expected area of concern from prior reading and research. From the results,
students placed it as the highest area of concern. This area was defined as the
establishment of a warm caring environment that is conducive to meaningful learning
coupled with teaching strategies that are motivational and expectations that are in

Background Of The Progressive Era
In the late 19th century, when a period of social activism and economic reform,
historically known as the Progressive Era (Maligned), coincided with the capitalistic
expansion at an unprecedented rate, a series of ideas on eradicating systematic
soldiering and increasing the overall productivity quiet sprouted at steel industry, later
growing into the theories of scientific managementin the next two decades. Scientific
management, also known as Taylorism, was one of the earliest attempts to apply
scientific methods to optimize of management and achieve economic efficiency. Its
founder, Frederick Winslow Taylor, was also the prominent figure in the Efficiency
Movement in the U.S. The principles of scientific management have shaped
American industry and on management science in three major ways since the 1880s.
On the corporate level, scientific management had streamlined manufacturing
process; on the individual level, it instilled many fundamental management ideas into
the American industry; as the leading thought during the Progressive Era, it laid the
foundation for various disciplines, many of which serve as guidelines even for
modern day industries.
Background Origin of Taylorism:
Frederick Taylor s fundamental thoughts on scientific management dated back to
early 1880s when he was employed at Midvale Steel Company and observed his
coworkers soldiering at work. In the following two decades, he moved around
different companies while developing his management theory
Police Power Structures
The articles I chose are from The Guardian and the Washington Post, and essentially
combined they are an overview of what caused the tragic deaths of Michael Brown
and Eric Garner, the community response to it, and how large of a problem police
violence is. The argument put forth in the Guardian article is that the reason why
black men are killed by white policeofficers is not due to an atmosphere of tension
and mistrust between minorities and police officers or police in general, that
atmosphere is merely a manifestation of the institutional racism that exists within
police forces throughout America. And in turn the government has been essentially
inactive when it comes to real reforms of the structure of police departments and their
policies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
government itself, specifically the Congress. The police department is failing
minorities because it is targeting them more than whites, and creating and enacting
rules and instructions within departments that provide an atmosphere of tension and
hate between minorities and police officers. Additionally, the subconscious racial
profiling and targeting present in police officers is failing minorities because rather
than protecting them, the police are treating them as their enemies. The government,
specifically the Congress, is failing minorities because lawmakers are not passing
proper measures to combat the institutional racism present in police departments.
The evidence that not enough is being done by Congress is shown by the fact that
already in 2015 385 people have been shot and killed by police in America, 100 of
which are black according to the Washington Post. There needs to be proper
legislation and reform to fight the discrimination and racism present in the structure
of police

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Canadian Culture Vs American Culture Canadas s culture is in many ways very similar to our culture in the United States. This in part due to our proximity to one another. However despite the similarities of our two countries there is some very distinct differences between the two. We as Americans make several misconceptions about the large country to our north, which are made out of ignorance. Such as the Title of this essay. In this essay I will provide you with some brief history about Canadaand its establishment. As well as elaborate on many key characteristics, holidays and demographics of that make up what it is to be a Canadian. The name Canada is derived from the word Kanata which translates to Village in the Iroquois language. The country of Canada is so large... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The largest ethnic demographic of the Canadian population are either English Canadian or French Canadian, making up a staggering 80% of the population of Canada. Most of the French Canadians located mostly in Quebec can trace their lineage back to the first French colonial families. After whiles the second largest ethnic group is Asians. Making up four percent of the population many of these people migrated to Canada for their willingness to work for low pay in dangerous conditions for the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Blacks make up three percent of the population and are Canada s largest minority. Many of these people are fairly recent immigrant families from Africa or the Caribbean, but there is a small minority of black Canadians that can trace their roots to the millions of African Slaved imported during the era of the Slave trade. Canada has taken the stance that everyone is equal, and because of this multi culturalism has thrived within the large country over the past 4 decades. Their brand of multiculturalism does not impose a burden to assimilate into idealized norms of what a Canadian is. The country which was once 97% white back in 1981, It now welcomes roughly 300,000 immigrants a year 80% of those are non white immigrants. Of course there is still some level discrimination and social tension caused between the multiple cultures that inhabit Canada, but it is their practice
  • 3. The Plight Of Young Males As discussed in a recent essay by Saul Kaplan The Plight of Young Males , there is a serious academic gender achievement gap in the United States and as I will discuss, around the world. Young women are doing significantly better than young men, and the results are shocking. In the latest census, males make up 51 percent of the total U.S. population between the ages of 18 24. Yet only 40 percent of today s college students are men. Since 1982, more American women than men have received bachelor s degrees. In the last ten years, two million more women graduated from college than men. As Kaplan reveals, the average eleventh grade boywrites at the level of the average eighth grade girl. He also states that women dominate high school honor rolls and now make up more than 70 percent of class valedictorians. Kaplan says, I am happy to see women succeeding. But can we really afford for our country s young men to fall so far behind, (733)? Historically boys were top of the class. Today that is no longer the case. A recent article in The Economist discusses a 2009 study by the OECD (Organization for Economic Co operation and Development) that examined how 15 year old boys and girls performed in reading, mathematics and science. They found that girls are performing better than their male classmates. This gender gap is worldwide. Girls score higher than boys on tests measuring reading ability in every country in the world (Loveless). Why? According to the study
  • 4. When I Respect Research Paper Over the latter parts of my 18 years of existence I have gotten pretty good at people watching. Therefore, I have become prone to know who I respect and those I don t. The way one speaks, acts, and obeys has a strong influence on how they will be first viewed. First impressions are very important and if one is saying mean things, lashing out, or disrespecting my view of said person will more than likely be negative. Overall, respect is a characteristic that is not simply received but gained. Growing up my parents taught me to look at people and see their hearts, not the clothes they are wearing or the shoes on their feet. This trait hasn t always been easy to come by and by no means is it natural. Upon first glance of an individual with a scouring look on their face, anyone would not think highly of them, at least I don t. For all I know they could just be having a rough day or perhaps received bad news but I don t think about that until after my wrongful judgement has been made.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I tend to watch the actions of people I pass by and can t help but notice when someone is on their phone, completely clueless to what is going on around them. This makes it easy to be invisible to someone in need. I have zero respect for someone who is unwilling to help another when they have the opportunity to make a big impact. When someone is struggling, my first intention is to help and when a passerby keeps walking I have a hard time to comprehend. This could be because of how I was raised. Moreover, helping is not limited to assisting someone in need. Not everyone is a genius, therefore, people need homework help and that is an easy service to grant. Everywhere you look there is someone in need whether they admit it or not. Being a person who is so self involved will get you nowhere in life but if you humble yourself, you will be able to see the world for how it is and not how you want it to

A referencing system is a set of rules and principles that is used to attribute the contributions of other authors within your own written work. This is achieved by both acknowledging, and identifying the source of, the other authors work. There are two parts to academic referencing: the acknowledgement (of the other authors words and ideas) in the body of your text (the in text citation); and the identification of their work in full at the end of your document (the end text citation in the reference list). Copying the words and ideas of others without acknowledging correct ownership is called plagiarism. Plagiarism may result in failure of a unit or entire course, fines, prevention from entry into professional associations and other disciplinary
  • 6. Sacraments As A Critical Part Of The Catholic Faith Sacraments Sacraments are a critical part of the foundation of the catholic faith, but where did the sacraments originate? Our faith comes from the preachings of Jesus but he never specifically described the sacraments and how to perform them. There are seven sacraments in the catholic church and three initiation sacraments, which must be completed in order to be a full member of the church. These sacraments when completed together allow you t become one in God, but where do the sacraments draw their power and how? The first recorded baptism was performed by John the Baptist. John the Baptist is Jesus cousin and was deemed the preparer for his cousin. John was called to prepare for the coming of the lord and the kingdom of God as well warn people for their ultimate judgement. John called on his followers to repent and make ready their hearts for the Lord, this was accomplished through baptism. John would immerse his follower in the river Jordan; however, in order for the sacrament to have validity multiple essential things must first be accomplished. John s followers must have complete faith in his message of the Messiah; they must also recognize that this was a sacrament of repentance that must lead to change. Confession was also a necessary part of John s baptism and ultimately repentance and the forgiveness of sin. Through this process, one is able to be renewed in the Lord and be prepared for the arrival of the Messiah and their final judgement. For by one
  • 7. The Changing Faces Of Violence The Changing Faces of Violence Towan Cook Georgia Gwinnett College In essence, violence is the act of causing some degree of harm to your own body, property, or another form of life. Like many words in the English language, there is several definitions for one word. Likewise, violence has several definitions that depend on the perspective in which the word violence is being viewed. When looking at every aspect of violence, there are many events that at first would not be considered violent, but in actuality are very violence for instance, sports. Everyday somewhere around the world, men and women are paid to fight each other until a knock out or decision is ruled. Violence also is seen on news stations, video games, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One reason why there are so many definitions for violence is because there are so many ways to harm people. According to Violence: The Enduring Problem violence also consist of protecting yourself from harm such as, using a firearm to defend your family from an attack (Alvarez, 2007). Likewise, harm can be transferred to another through physical contact, voice, and other physical actions. In the United States the definition of violence has changed drastically over time. For example, it was not long ago that in the state of Georgia a woman could have been raped by her husband. When challenged in court, the Supreme Court of Georgia held that if a women agrees to get married to a man then she thereby, agrees to always give consent to intercourse (Warren v. State, 1985). Therefore in the state of Georgia during this time, women could be raped by her husband. According to the law neither crime nor violent act has been committed; however, the woman who was raped probably would say otherwise, stating that she was forced to have sexual intercourse against her will, which would constitute as being a violent act. Another type of violence that has been shown to have very negative results on ones psyche is verbal abuse (Gadit, 2011). The article titled, Verbal Abuse: Does it lead to Mental Disorder? illustrates that children who are repeatedly exposed to verbal abuse often grow up with insecurities, low

Dark Triad Research Assignment Activity 1.1 Research Area Behavioural Sciences Research Topic Development of the Dark triad personality traits in adolescence Research Question Does the development of the dark triad personality traits in adolescence contribute as the main factor to juvenile delinquency? As Humans, we are understood to have a higher degree of variance in our behaviours than most other species and this has a significant impact on the way we interact with others in society. My personal interest in behavioural studies and criminology lead me to research more on the characteristics of adolescence in relation to juvenile delinquency. The key findings so far have suggested that the psychopathic and narcissistic traits are highly prevalent among adolescents. They also show factors leading to delinquency which include callous unemotional and sadistic traits particularly in boys. Disengagement is another factor that plays a large part in the emergence of Machiavellianism at an early stage. These findings will be useful in locating a link between these behaviours and if they can be the main reason for juvenile delinquency. The gap in these research papers is that they have not yet looked into why it was particularly boys that developed these traits were more prone to delinquent behaviour than girls who did. Some bacteria are helpful. Some bacteria produce toxins which cause unpleasant symptoms. Most bacteria can be treated with antibiotics. Some bacteria are resistant to antibiotics. • 10. The Importance Of The Mapping Project For A Better Insight... I received a call from an elderly shut in lady explaining that she had no access to transportation and that there was some problem with her SNAP benefits that month. She was in poor health and had specific dietary needs. Her friend, that normally would help, was not able to take her to a local pantry. She wanted to know if we would be able to bring just a little foodto tie her over until someone could take her somewhere for food. Imagine the feeling of insecurity that this woman must have been experiencing. This is just one of many calls the food bank receives. USDA defines food insecurity as a household level economic and social condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food. While it may be the assumption that larger areas of food insecurity are in the more densely populated areas, you can see that in areas of Lumpkin County this not the case. In Union County it appears that food insecurity is not nearly as prevalent. A deeper look will show that considering more factors is necessary when determining need. Some of the counties GMFB services have large rural areas where transportation can be a barrier as well as limited access to food sources near them. Figure 1 below also indicates the locations of the agencies GMFB supports and gives us a clear picture of how well we are meeting the areas of need as well as any gaps. Dawson County appears at first glance as a county with a large area of moderately high level of food insecurity in the northwestern part of the county and a smaller area with a low level of food insecurity in the southeastern part of the county. Notwithstanding, this is a very rural county where schools and social services are all located in a central location. Limited transportation is a barrier for this county. Limited access to transportation can in include no or limited access to public transportation and/or no access to reliable transportation. Dawson County has limited public transportation with only 4
  • 11. Functionalist Perspective Of Education The opening to chapter 13 begins with the experiences of various families that have different problems with education that led them to the conclusion of homeschooling. Education contributes to what is known as the credential society that we have today, as the degrees earned in education determine jobs that people are eligible for. The certification that education provides a person is used as evidence that the individual is capable of certain tasks and has certain skills. The more developed a nation, the more extensive an education that they provide their people, and this trend is seen across Most Industrialized, Industrializing, and Least Industrialized Nations. Education is seen in many different perspectives, especially amongst sociologists. Functionalists focus on the major functions that education serves, such as teaching of knowledge and skills, cultural transmission of values, social integration, social placement, and mainstreaming. The conflict perspective, on the other hand, focuses on how education reproduces the social class structure through unequally funding and having schools exclusive to the elite. This is while the symbolic interactionist s perspective focuses on the interaction of the classroom and how student performance typically conforms to the expectations that the teacher has over them. Like everything else in the world, education isn t perfect by far, as there are many problems, such as mediocrity, grade inflation, social promotion, fake data, and
  • 12. Ponyboy Character Analysis Sometimes people judge a book by its cover. Ponyboy from The Outsiders was a person that was judged by many people. He is in a gang, they call themselves the greasers. They are poorer than the Socs and the middle class. When people see them they immediately think, dirty troublemakers but they are more like a group of friends hanging out. They are like one big family and very few of them from the gang actually start trouble. Being that Ponyboy is a greaser, people think that he is a troublemaker and a bad person but that is not the case. Ponyboy is a unique young man that does not start trouble and does not like fighting. He is also a very good friend. I can say that I am most like him because I find that we have very many things in common when it comes to identity and personality. He is a nice person who s smart in school and that is what sets him apart from the rest of his gang. Although he may not think properly when he s out of school and it leads him to trouble, he still keeps his good grades and respect towards others. Ponyboy is a very good friend. He has a friend named Johnny who is also a greaser. Johnny is going through so much throughout the story. He runs away from his home because he heard his mother and father fighting like they always do. He goes to the park and he says, I can t take much more. I ll kill myself or something. Johnny hated that his parents fought so much and he didn t want to be around it. His parents were neglectful and abusive, both
  • 13. The Major Differences Between Democratic, Authoritarian,... The major differences between democratic, authoritarian, and anarchic political systems are who holds the power, who has freedom/how much, and how much involvement the government has in the workings of its country. For authoritarian states, the power is held mainly by a single person or an elite group of people, few people have freedom, with what freedom they have being limited, and the government, or rather the leader/leaders, is involved in almost every aspect of the country from controlling the economy to making decisions for the lifestyles of its citizens like deciding how many kids they may have or what hair styles are approved. Everything is at the whim of those in charge and can change at any second. Anarchic is the exact opposite of this. In an anarchic government, everyone has power all the power they can take for themselves, nothing is unpermitted as there are no laws and since a government doesn t exist, it can t have any involvement in anything. Finally there is the democratic system which is a happy medium between these two extremes. In a democracy, everyone has some power through the right to vote directly or for elected officials who will run the country (who are limited by a constitution of some kind), everyone has freedom within the country s generally reasonable laws, and government involvement is limited to making laws and regulations within reason to protect its citizens, economy, etc. For example, you would not see a democratic nation forbidding speaking

The American Dream, being the idea that everyone, from all walks of life, can come to America and be successful, in any way in which they want to, so long as they have hard work and determination to do so. Ragged Dick for filling this Dream by making his way up in society, and eventually making a wealthy man of himself. The first was that fact that no one should give up. Through all of the hardships Dick was put through, including the loss of his parents, the misfortune of receiving no education, and the fact that he lived on his own for most of his life. Another important topic that was covered, was that hard work pays off. In Dick s case, he worked hard at a boot black, treated people with respect, and finally caught a break from his hard work, by receiving a high paying job. The kind of people that would enjoy this story would be people of all ages. No matter what age, or what level of education one may be, this story teaches lessons that anyone can benefit from. It doesn t matter if a twelve year old boy, or a fifty year old woman picked up Ragged Dick, because they will both benefit from what the story speaks about. I think it is a heroic act to set up dream and tend to achieve it, because there is a fine line between a dreamer and a successful person. A dreamer is a person that day dreams without the aim of act towards it. But a heroic person like what we have in the novel of Ragged Dick is that he worked so hard and started from a very simple job a shoe shiner to finding a job to earning more money helping himself to become a successful

When receiving massive amounts of information on a daily basis it is difficult to sift through the information, match the information to a specific program, and create the principal agents specific program. What is this information tied to? Freddie Mac s website articulates the organization s mission guidelines and strategic plan. These guidelines are strict and heavily weighted by deadlines, procedures for the reduction/elimination of marginal errors in delivery of a securitized loan to Freddie Mac. As part of the interview and orientation process each principal agent is required to systematically follow through the plan. For comparison of management and processes performance metrics to Freddie Mac s best practices, a portion of the delivery period is dedicated to a benchmarking process. Over the course of several office visits, an assessment was conducted to analyze Freddie Mac s staffing, policy, procedures and systems. The results were used to gauge the professionalism and expertise of the principle agent. Additionally, the organization s goals and objectives were assessed to identify any factors that could potentially jeopardize the success of its principal agent performance in reaching its goals and objectives of submitting a fully funded loan within the required timeframe. It is less difficult for a principal agent to adapt to Freddie Mac s
  • 17. The Electoral System Of New Zealand Essay The government in New Zealand is chosen via an electoral system, which currently is the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) system. In simple terms, an electoral system is a key component in making a government. Prime Ministers are only successful under the MMP system if they have the required qualities that are needed. This essay will talk about one such Prime Minister namely Helen Clark. Further, it will provide an insight to the MMP electoral system as opposed to the First Past the Post (FPP) electoral system. The essay will then differentiate between the required leadership qualities under MMP and FPP electoral systems. The essay will also shower some light on Helen Clark s leadership under the MMP electoral system. It will then conclude by determining whether Helen Clark was successful under MMP or not and whether she possessed the required qualities of successful prime ministerial leadership under MMP system. To start with, Mixed Member Proportional electoral system was chosen by the legal voters of New Zealand in a binding referendum that was initially started in 1992, where it obtained an astonishing 85% support. The second electoral referendum was carried out in 1993 and MMP got 54% support. Upon this referendum, New Zealand s new electoral system was embraced. (The Road to MMP 2012, p. 3) Prior to 1993, the predominantly used electoral system was the First Past the Post system. Under the FPP system, each voter has one vote and the candidate who receives the most votes

Music brings out the best parts of a movie, a car ride, or even a special event. The purpose of music varies from artist to artist and different cultures. Every piece of music carries a unique message, but a song, in particular, carries meaning. Runaway Loveby Ludacris, featuring Mary J. Blige, exploits the struggles of young girls by using rhetorical techniques, such as pathos, ethos, logos, tone, and visual rhetoric throughout the music video to raise national awareness about youth runaways. Christopher Bridges was born in 1978 in Champaign, Illinois where he spent the first twelve years of his life before moving to Atlanta, Georgia with his family (Ludacris). During this time, Christopher was introduced to hip hop music, attended Banneker High school, and dropped out of Georgia State University to follow his dream. The aspiring rapper landed a radio internship that eventually led to his major break into the music industry. Because Christopher needed a stage name, he came up with Ludacris because he declares part of him is calm, cool, and collective, while the other side is just beyond crazy (Ludacris). The timing was impeccable as the fresh rapper stepped into the music scene when the music industry was focused on the Dirty South Sound that was taking over the music charts (Ludacris). • 20. Diagnosing and Treating Illness with the Imaging... The study of radiology involves the use of imaging technology to diagnose and treat an illness. The method most commonly used to diagnose is projection radiography which produces radiographs by transmitting X Rays through the patient to create an image. Other forms of radiology that are used to diagnose include CT scanning, Ultrasounds, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Fluoroscopy, and Nuclear Medicine. The story of radiology started in 1895 when Wilhelm Conrad RГ¶ntgen made the discovery in November of 1895. While working with his Cathode Ray generator RГ¶ntgen noticed the ability to view an image using electromagnetic radiation. To test his discovery RГ¶ntgen performed an X Rayon his wife s hand which revealed that the ray could pass through human tissue leaving the bones and metals to show. In December of 1895 RГ¶ntgen published his manuscript On a New Kind of Ray to the Wurzburg Physical Medical Institute. His discovery was quickly transmitted throughout the world and his experiment was easily repeated due to the fact that many places had the Cathode Ray readily available. As the results began to improve and become more accurate, so did the technology allowing the radiographs that were made on glass photographic plates be replaced by film; a contribution made my George Eastman in 1918.The first radiology department of the world opened up at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1896 and in the same year came the first diagnosis by Dr. Hall Edwards. Growing knowledge made it

The first myth system to note is the story of Io, in which Zeus, King of the gods, is unfaithful to his wife Hera, with a maiden named Io. Zeus does not want his wife to find out about this, so he turns Io, into a heifer so as Hera will never see her. Jupiter thinking he s best get in first, if he s looking to protect the girlfriend, so... spotting a herd of cows on the hill, quick as a flash, he turns her into a heifer. In other interpretations of the story, we see Io get turned into a beautiful white cow and also Zeus disguising the River Nymph as a cow meaning she can blend among a herd. The effect of doing this changes the tone of the story, in a sense of making it more comical to readers, instead of it being about betrayal and trust. The second myth system to note is Hercules and the Thespian Lion. When Hercules was 18 he killed the Thespian Lion, because it was part of his Twelve Labours in which he must abide by as penance for killing family, and once he completed all of these, Hercules was a free man once again. One of the approaches advised by European Commission is using as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). However, no risk manager to set priorities for action concerning the urgency was provided (25). Since data on genotoxic and carcinogenic potency from human are rarely available, data from animal study exposed to high dose levels of compound are often used, which then extrapolated using a wide range of models to the lower doses in which human are exposed. These chemicals may act jointly which can affect the level of toxicity (addition, antagonism, potentiation, synergies, etc.). Several approaches, such as dose addition and response addition are being used to assess the risk of mixture compounds. However, three key concepts must take into account to assess the chemical mixture: toxicological and mode of action similarity; similarity of mixture compounds independent of action; and assumption of additivity (27). Based on the key concepts mentioned above, dose addition approach is used to assess the risk of mixture compounds which has similar toxicological effect and mode of action. In this approach, relative potency factor (RPF) and toxicity equivalence factor (TEF) method are being used if the mechanism of action are well understood, whereas hazard index (HI) methods is being used if mechanistic data are not available (27). To determine the RPF values, the potency of the compound was calculated in relative to an index chemical, a well characterized chemical based on toxicity studies of the effect and the exposure condition of interest in assessment. In TEF method, the determination of the cumulative impact of the mixture was done using concentration of each chemical and the appropriate TEF based on extensive mechanistic information that shows all the toxic effects of concern share a common mode of action (28). Hazard index, the last method used in dose addition approach, is derived from sum of the exposure measures for the mixture component chemicals

The lowest recorded was 59,495 hectares of land distributed in 2009 because of the uncertainties brought about by the transition to implementing Republic Act No. 9700. The second lowest was 97,795 hectares, recorded in 2003. Last year alone, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) distributed 111,889 hectares of land nationwide, which is slightly higher than the 107,180 hectares distributed in 2010. The DAR completed the acquisition of 18,414 landholdings with a total area of 120,286 hectares for a gross accomplishment rate of 60 percent. Of this area, 8,397 hectares are exclusions from the same landholding and retention areas of landowners. Thus, 111,889 hectares were actually distributed to 63,755 agrarian reform beneficiaries. The total area that is still to be distributed (called the Land Acquisition and Distribution or LAD balance) totals 961,974 hectares from 107,639 landholdings. Around 93.58 percent of the LAD balance (900,188 hectares) are private agricultural land; almost 85 percent of the LAD Balance (816,491 hectares) are LBP compensable. Therein lies the challenge. The large portion of previous accomplishments are acquisitions that are easy : government owned lands, voluntary land transfers, and voluntary offer to sell. These are the less tedious and less

In an immigrant s perspective, on the other hand, they have a hard time calling home home. Laviera a famous Nuyorican poet, decribed his battle in the poem NUyorican. As Small explained, Palu or Emma is the one who left her family to live her own life and dreams. She was one of the daughters of Atu. At one point, she worked at a credit union due to her father and his connections. There, she made about $5 which is decent. Overtime, she worked her way up to become the secretary. Palu did not like the job. Her only reason for staying is the money she gets from Atu which is $20 and the allowance from her job as secretary which is $30. Currently, Emma, she prefers to be called by her American name, lives in The United States along with her non Tongan boyfriend Greg. No matter where we are, we can see the spectacle continue its infinite loop in nature. From evaporation to the runoff that awaits to begin the cycle again, we have constantly trained and memorized the importance and resourcefulness of the water cycle through schooling. In Leslie Marmon Silko s The Man to Send Rain Clouds, Silko illustrates the different stages of the water cycle symbolically throughout the story. The first place we can catch the symbolic usage of the water cycle (mainly evaporation) is in the first section labelled Part One . The paragraph starts out with They found him under a big cottonwood tree, (Silko) him being Teofilo. The tree that is mention... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first thing they start to do to prepare is set the clothes they will change him into. ... and a new brown flannel shirt and pair of stiff new Levis were arranged neatly beside the pillow (Silko). In sequence with the facepaint in section one, the brown of the flannel can represent dirt and the Levis are the ground water buried deep within the ground. This could represent the look of nature after precipitation, after the cycle begins to end, which I find kind of correlates with Teofilo lifecycle. Furthermore, in the third section is the condensation. Though the funeral ended this is where the climax builds up the next section coming forward. The symbolism in this section is when Louise asks for holy water to give Teofilo. About the priest sprinkling holy water for grandpa. So he won t be thirsty, (Silko). The holy water can represent the start of the gathering of water that defines what condensation does. Once the priest comes to give the holy water he will then sprinkle it like precipitation on the old man so he won t be thirsty . Hence, the reason why I say buildup of climax like

One from General Omar Bradley connects to what I have learned as a student in Exploring Strengths: Leadership is intangible, and therefore no weapon ever designed can replace it. Although my strengths are intangible, gaining an understanding of what they are and how I can develop them not only gives me a weapon against mediocrity, this knowledge of my strengths will assist me in becoming the kind of officer, leader and person I want to be. My first strength is Relator. Relators want to make connections on a deep level with people. This strength values the intimacy of relationships. It allows you to draw strength from being around your close friends and family. This past July, my Relator strength was very valuable to me as I went to Air Force ROTC Field Training, which is essentially the officer equivalent of basic training. During this difficult 24 day experience, my Relator strength helped me form strong bonds with my entire flight of seventeen cadets within the first few days. My second strength is Harmony. This strength focuses on keeping people out of arguments so that the whole group can work more successfully. Part of this strength is also having the patience and flexibility to change your goals if arguing about them will damage the effectiveness of the group. Those with the strength of Harmony are able to find what brings people together and use it effectively. I was

Six issues will be discussed as follows 1) importance of energy cost; 2) project s cash flows; 3) cost of capital; 4) choose an engine 5) evaluation 6) accept or reject. We should accept the project because of the positive NPV and high IRR. We will gain $532 million in wealth which is a big money on the scale like this. The company has a bond rating of AA that makes the risk relatively low. So we should definitely say yes. Issues Importance of Energy Cost Road King Trucks, Inc. is a truck manufacturing company. If we don t run the project, we can sell it and earn $6 million right now. Cost of Capital (see table 2) I used WACC as the discount factor, we expect the rate of return to be higher than it, the same at least. The WACC reflects the average risk and overall capital structure of the entire firm [2]. It s the required return and it presents how much the company pays for the capital it finances. In this case, the cost of equity is 10.33%, the cost of debt is 6.50%. I calculated WACC using those numbers and got a result of 8.49%. Choose an Engine (see table 3) There are two options for engines will be installed on buses. And so are the warranties. The decision should be made according to engines quality, effectiveness, etc. But to investors, cost is the main factor. In this case, Detroit engine has an installation cost of $20,000 and a warranty of $1,000 each year for 5 years; the cost of installation of Marcus engine is $2,000 less but the warranty is $1,500 per year. To figure out the cost I calculated the NPVs of each year for 20 years. The NPVs of the warranties for each bus are same at the year it been produced. For example, the warranty of a Detroit engine has a NPV of $4,276 in the year it been produced. (This method is coming from Mr. Hasse. I used to combine the warranty for each year and use those numbers in calculation.) The NPV of installation cost and warranty of Detroit engine is $252,154,

Each community is different due to being comprised of unique organisms and inanimate objects. The basic unit of community relies on survival. As stated by de Waal, the primate community is a prime example which displays how we perform innate behaviors to ensure our survival. The next level of community is the goal oriented community. Goal oriented communities strive to bring about change in their communities whether it be for better or worse. The goal oriented community can be allotted into different categories. One type of an ambitious community is that of associations as described by Tocqueville. The other goal oriented community is that of the revolutionary community. This community attempts to raise awareness about injustice found in a community and urges that members of the community fight to make injustice cease to exist. The final stage of community ends with the community that cares for the environment as a whole. Not only does it care for the living thingsthat reside in the community, but it appreciates the nonliving things that are found in the community as well. The nature loving community recognizes that everything within the community is necessary to have and to care for. Each of these communities start with having the need for survival but become more complex until they are able to incorporate love in their communities. The foundation for most

Risking your life for treasure isn t worth it, it s also not what being a true hero is really about. Definition of a hero summed into my own words a person who does selfless acts without thought of reward. In the Story Of Beowulf all Beowulf wanted was accolades, because of that Beowulf died selfishly instead of dying as a true hero. Living a more modest life as a hero gets you remembered no matter what you did, Neil Armstrong was the first guy to step foot on the moon; even though he did such a big thing or big leap for the future of the country he still lived a very humble life, thirty years later he s still remembered like it happened yesterday. When you seek accolades you re the one losing, Beowulf seeked accolades his whole life and he also lost his life fighting a dragon for some treasure, that really wasn t worth it, it just doesn t make him a true hero, the dragon was not hurting anyone he risked his life for the treasure and not the people which brings me back to my point you shouldn t seek accolades because it does not make you the true hero, the real reward is the feeling of helping the person in need or doing the extraordinary at the end of the day that s all that really matters. On the other end of the scale heroes could seek accolades, they deserve the reward for saving

The survey was composed of five distinct areas that were overarching and broad. The goal was to use questions to discover the concerns and issues that eighth grade students might have. The categories were: social interaction, teacher relationships and instruction, academia, environmental factors and student safety. Each category brought interesting and new information. The study found that the area of teacher relationship and instruction was the highest area of concern as perceived by students in the study. The area of academia was another area of high concern for students. The study found the area of safety as the area of lowest concern by students in the study. Police Power Structures The articles I chose are from The Guardian and the Washington Post, and essentially combined they are an overview of what caused the tragic deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, the community response to it, and how large of a problem police violence is. The argument put forth in the Guardian article is that the reason why black men are killed by white policeofficers is not due to an atmosphere of tension and mistrust between minorities and police officers or police in general, that atmosphere is merely a manifestation of the institutional racism that exists within police forces throughout America. And in turn the government has been essentially inactive when it comes to real reforms of the structure of police departments and their policies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... government itself, specifically the Congress. The police department is failing minorities because it is targeting them more than whites, and creating and enacting rules and instructions within departments that provide an atmosphere of tension and hate between minorities and police officers. Additionally, the subconscious racial profiling and targeting present in police officers is failing minorities because rather than protecting them, the police are treating them as their enemies. The government, specifically the Congress, is failing minorities because lawmakers are not passing proper measures to combat the institutional racism present in police departments. The evidence that not enough is being done by Congress is shown by the fact that already in 2015 385 people have been shot and killed by police in America, 100 of which are black according to the Washington Post. There needs to be proper legislation and reform to fight the discrimination and racism present in the structure of police
