1. Autumn Term 21st
Nov-2nd
Dec
Dear Parents,
Activities we will be doing in Preschool:
The children will be practising their pouring skills as they play in the water and
help to pour their own drinks at snack time. This type of activity is important to
help build the muscles which they need to hold and control a pencil in order to
become confident writers.
Encouraging the children to give meaning to their marks as they draw, for
example making a mark at the top of their picture which represents their name or
drawing a squiggle and saying ‘that’s mummy.’
Singing our Christmas songs which include some old favourites but also some new
ones such as ‘The wide eyed owl’ and ‘Mousie went a creeping.’
Activities to do at home with your child:
Get some jugs and bottles for them to play with in the bath.
Practise singing their rhymes with them and encourage them to show you the
actions they are learning.
Notices:
Thank you all for supporting us on Friday as we raised money for Children in Need.
We were overwhelmed by the response to our cake sale and have so far raised
£258.84.
On the last day of term, Weds 21st December you are invited to join us for a
stay and play sessions which will include watching the children’s Christmas sing-
along. Please dress your child in any outfit appropriate to the nativity story for
this occasion. A letter with more details will follow shortly.
Please remember that if your child needs to take Calpol they are not fit for
school and need to stay at home. This is for their sake and to avoid spreading
infections to other children.
