1. Spring term 2nd
-13th
Feb.
Dear Parents,
We have a busy 2 weeks left before the half term holiday. We shall be continuing
our focus on healthy bodies and our fruit of the week, by popular request is grapes.
Activities we will be doing in pre-school:
Using a variety of small world toys to encourage children to develop their
own imaginative ideas. This is ideal for children to begin to build friendships
as they join in with each other’s play.
Talking about Chinese New Year; having a Chinese restaurant in our role play
area and tasting some Chinese food.
Learning our rhyme of the week which is ‘Five peas in a pea pod pressed’.
This is a great rhyme to tie together both our focus on healthy eating and
that of using our fingers to represent numbers.
Activities to do at home with your child:
Visit the New Year celebrations in China Town, Liverpool on Sunday 22nd
Feb. If you take any photographs of this event please bring them in to pre-
school to show us.
Sing our rhyme of the week and encourage your child to use their fingers as
they count. This helps with mathematical understanding, it also develops
their finger strength which is a necessary pre-writing skill.
Notices:
Remember that we break up for half term on Friday 13th
Feb and return on
Monday 23rd
Feb.
We shall be having parent interviews with your child’s key person during the
week of 9th
Feb. You will be able to sign up for an appointment this week.
We are collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers, if you shop at
Sainsbury’s please help us with this as it enables us to get some useful
resources. Thank you.
