Dear Parents,
Our “integrity” word of the month is Lovely. Our Bible verse is:
“How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for
the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for you to the living God.”
Psalm 84:1-2
What a blessing it is that we can teach our children what it means to LOVE and be loved as God
wished-for it to be. It can be so tough to teach Love for others in a society that is so “me”
oriented. My dad used to always say “you don’t have to like ‘em, but you have to love ‘em”. It
was hard to understand that as a child but I believe it is an important lesson to learn. What a
blessing it us for us to be able to teach and more importantly show love to our students. We
thank you so much for lending them to us so that we can have that joy daily.
RED/PINK/PURPLE DAY FEBRUARY
12th and 13th
As we get closer to celebrating Valentine’s
Day we will discuss love and friendship and
take comfort in the love God showers over us
each day. What a joy it is for our teaching
staff to be able to share this love with each of
your children. God has commanded that we
“love our neighbors”, as we enter the church
Lenten Season (Wednesday, February 18th) we
will focus on the cross and how through the
act of Jesus’ death on the cross we see the
ultimate gift of love displayed. If you would
like to visit our church during this season,
services are:
You’ve heard the saying “Laughter is the best
medicine.” It’s a well-known fact that a good
laugh often reduces stress. As a parent, you
can show your child how to use humor to
improve a bad day.
Imagine that you’ve just burned the meal you
spent all day preparing. Rather than letting it
become a disaster that ruins everyone’s day, try
turning it into a hilarious family memory.
“This turkey’s getting a big laugh today. He’s
thinking, ‘Ha! They should’ve had a ham.’”
Then, ask everyone what they want on their
pizza.
If your child learns to see the humor in a
difficult situation, they will be better prepared
to cope with stress as they grow.
My mom always said, “If I don’t laugh, I’ll cry”.
Choose your attitude and you will have a better day.
2. UNITS
We have introduced all of the practical life material and
most of the sensorial materials, which included various
color activities and number games. We will continue
working on shapes and numbers as we continue to
introduce various math activities and specific pre-reading
skills, such as sequencing and rhyming. These types of
games will be added to our shelf units daily. Feel free to
ask your child (4K) what items they have been learning
about each day.
REGISTRATION
Registration for 2015-2016 is currently underway. If
you wish to reserve a place for your child in the MWF
4/5K (8:30-11:30) program for next year, please ask your
child’s teacher about Enrollment Packages. If you have
neighbors and friends who are looking for a school for
their child we ask that you would have them call us at 468-
3596 so that we can meet them and share our programs
with them.
We appreciate your sharing about OSLC Preschool.
We are hoping to fill all our programs next year and we
need your help. If you would like to pick up a Pre-K
informational pamphlet to pass out we would be glad to
get that to you. We know that you have a tough choice to
make about your child’s preschool experience. We pray
that you consider continuing to partner with us for one
more year as we work with you to continue to shape your
child’s character development.
We hope that you take the time to visit the school your
child may enroll in and make sure it is a fit for your family
and your child’s physical, emotional & spiritual needs.
Remember we have a FULL DAY program available for
your child with before and after school available next year.
If you are interested in before school care and after school
care please let us know. We will be offering extended
care to Trinity students as well.

Obeying School Rules
Let your children know it’s
important to follow the rules at
school. Example: if your child
complains that they aren’t allowed
to run in school, say, “The teacher’s
right, they need to create a safe
environment and they don’t want
you to be hurt.”
Brush, brush, brush your teeth
To encourage your child to brush
their teeth, consider these
suggestions. Let him/her brush your
teeth or their doll’s teeth before you
help them brush their own. Or sing
a silly made-up song using a familiar
tune while they brush.
Worth Quoting
“The greatest gift we can give the
next generation is the ability to
laugh at themselves.” Charles Schulz
Just For Fun
Q: Why does a flamingo hold up
one leg?
A: Because if he held up both, he
would fall over!
