1. September is always a fun month as we welcome new and old families back and start the year with our new classes. At the same time it
is also a busy month, so please bear with us if we may seem a little overwhelmed at times. I am sure you may be feeling the same way
as your children start back to school as well.
As we kick off another school year here are a few reminders:
• If you missed our parent meeting your packet of information is on your child’s hook
• Birds = AM half day preschool Giraffes = All day preschool
• Birds go to the Library the first Thursday of the month, and you will need 5-point harness car seats.
• Giraffes go to the Library the third Friday of the month, and you will need 5-point harness car seats.
• If you have questions at any time please feel free to ask any one of us.
Welcome & have a great month, Jeni Hoover

Healthy Tidbit for the Month:
Have you ever thought about how we celebrate with food
for birthdays, holidays, and accomplishments? We want to
try to practice celebrating birthdays in a different way here
at Kendal.
Challenge this Month:
When it is your child’s birthday, bring your child’s favorite
book to read instead of bringing sugary snacks to share.
Kendal Intergenerational News:

2. From the KELC Teachers:
From the Classroom:
August was very busy and full of fun to end the summer. The weather was perfect for walking around and
exploring at the Zoo and the Fair. Both field trips were a hit with the children. They loved seeing all the animals at
both venues. They saw a wide variety of animals at both places. We want to thank all of the parents that were able to
join and help us on the field trips, as it’s always great when parents can join us.
We can’t believe it is a new school year already! You will see many new faces during the next couple of
weeks and some old ones returning. Please make sure to remember drop off is between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. This will
give your child plenty of time to sign in, answer the question of the day, and be ready for large group that starts
promptly at 9.
During this month we will be learning about our classrooms and friends. We want to familiarize the children
with the classroom as well as with each other. We have many fun activities planned and are excited to get to know
everyone.
If you ever have any questions please feel free to talk to or e-mail us.
