Language teachers often resort to video to present their students with linguistic and cultural aspects of communication in their context. Since learning-by-doing is generally considered more effective than learning-by-viewing, they try to find active tasks for their learners, such as note-taking, answering questions, summarizing or discussing the video with peers. Familiar Audiovisual Translation modalities, such as subtitling and dubbing, can be used in this context as multimodal resources that can account for a very active and motivating educational framework.
ClipFlair proposes an authentic way of working with audiovisual material which results in a product, valuable in its own right: a subtitled or dubbed clip. Learners are asked to add to the clip their own subtitles, captions for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, annotations or intertitles. Alternatively, they can record their voice to simulate foreign film dubbing, voice-over, free commentary, or audio description for the blind. Clips can be short video or audio files, including documentaries, film scenes, news pieces, animations and songs.

Mixing Computer-Assisted Translation and Machine Translation
Curious to learn more about how much a translator could really benefit from this daunting combination, Cris Silva and Giovana Boselli conducted an experiment in which we combined machine translation and translation memory. They were first taught different language concepts and terms used in dubbing to understand how to approach different materials. Then, the students participated in hands-on activities where they drafted translations of scripts and practiced using the scripts.

Delhi before metro
A 1969 study found that Delhi had more motor vehicles than Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, necessitating policies to discourage private transport when traffic exceeded 20,000 people per hour. In 1984, proposals were made for Delhi's first metro system consisting of three underground lines and improvements to existing rail and road networks. Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Dubbing, subtitling, localisation, and media accessibility (audio description, subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing) are some of the most common techniques (oral or written) with sound and image. Audiovisual translation is an exciting new field in translation studies ranging from dubbing and voice-over to subtitling. This field has witnessed a growing professional demand.

Software localization projects, on the other hand, often run in parallel with the development of the source product to enable simultaneous shipment of all language versions. For example, the translation of software strings may often start while the software product is still in the beta phase.
