Damian goes on a midnight walk near his village and encounters a ghostly wolf that stalks and chases him through the fields. Though the wolf passes through him without harm, Damian realizes he has been haunted by a dead wolf. The wolf now follows Damian home each night, haunting both him and his family with its glowing red eyes.

The time period is modern day because at one point it talks about Covid-19.
They use an old classical music track at the end, which may make the listener feel like
the drama is set then.
The background sound that they add in when the man and the woman are talking
makes me think that they are in the countryside.
When the two older women are talking you can tell that they are on a phone call.
The music plays right at the end, just before an important message is announced.

The subtle music in the background adds to the suspense of the story as it progresses.
However, it can make you loose concentration.
The mans voice is low and furthermore makes the situation sound more scary /
spooky / awful.
At about 14:19 in the video there is a deep booming noise, which has deliberately
been added in, that definitely adds more fear and uncomforting for the listener.
At different points during the stories, the narrator would add in sounds used to
demonstrate the things that he is talking about.

from their friends.
They rate the stories on a scale from 1 – 10 for how scary they are.
There is a gentle, quiet spooky song playing in the background.

There is a man, narrating the stories, who has a very deep voice. I think that this is key
to make the story more scary / spooky, and to add the sense of suspension as the
story progresses and when it is at its worst moments.
As the background on the screen there is a picture of a full moon and clouds moving in
front of it. This is thought to be a spooky background picture as it is associated with
something that kills and hunts anything it can.
Very subtly, in the background, there is a collection of low noted played in a sequence
repeatedly. They sound like noises that could be made by different mythical creatures
during the night. Or in a horror / thriller show like Stranger Things.

8. Idea Generation/Initial Reaction
When I researched a few stories, I instantly liked the idea of
making the story to do with wolves, woods, and foggy
fields. I read about a story that involves werewolves and
zombies in small village called Wold Newton. I did a bit
more research about the area and it seemed like a great
setting for my story. And I can change my story to make it
suit the location more. I wanted Damian to be walking
during the night in the fields near to where the wolf lives. I
want it to be a winter night so that it is cold, frosty, and
foggy because it adds to suspense and makes the story
more thrilling and exciting for the reader and the writer.

It was a little bit hard to find the right places for the audio recording, because the
device could pick up noise from a great distance. You would have to try and find a
place where this didn’t happen. Although some places worked well, a little bit of the
background noise can be cancelled out by the audio from other clips. It may make the
quality less great, but it works.

I imagine my target audience to be teenage boys, aged 13-16. I feel like my story would appeal to this target audience because my story
is about wolves and ghosts, which in my opinion would suit well for teenage boys. I feel like it would suit boys better because it is to do
with ghostly wolves, and I don't think that a girl would really like that, but I could be wrong. This story would be a free audio book, so
that everyone could listen to it without having to pay for a thing. My story could be best suited for the emulator psychographic.
Geodemographics: This story would be best suited for a teenage boy, between the ages of 13 – 16, who lives in the UK or America.

I am going to write a story about a ghostly wolf that haunts a teenage boy named Damian, and then his family as well. I would like the
main part of my story to be read by someone who has a deep voice, as I think that any good spooky story sounds so much better read
by someone who has a deeper voice. I could say the Damian's dialogue lines.
From the research I found out information about the area around Wold Newton. I saw that there was a perfect place for the setting of
my story, just at the edge of the small village. There were some horse fields which were trapped by fences and small trees / bushes.
There was also a crop field right next to the horse fields, which would be the perfect place for Damian to go to on his midnight moonlit
walk. The story starts when Damian says “These horses are always getting spooked” to himself. The ghost wolf lives in the trees and
bushes at the edge of the horse fields, and also the wooded areas around Wold Newton, and other villages in the area.

a midnight moonlit walk in the fields at the edge of his small village, Wold Newton. It is getting darker earlier
now, and it is freezing cold, so Damian has decided to wear his large parka coat, and snow boots.
In this instance he is quite far out in the fields, and pretty close to the area from the old chilling stories that his
grandparents would tell him. It is said that wolves can be seen lurking in the woods and fields here. Damian
likes to take risks though. He loves to take photographs, especially on nights when there is a full moon
because it lights up the area around.
He wonders on for a bit longer, but suddenly freezes still as he hears a howl from behind him. “What was
that?” whispers Damian. He has never had an experience like this. It has to be in the field, at least 200 metres
away. Damian slowly turns to try and see the wolf, but he cannot locate it. “Why can’t I see it?” says Damian.
He hears panting and growling coming for him, the fear properly starts to kick in now. He starts to run away
from the wolf, but does not get that far, as the wolf is much faster than him in the cold weather. Damian hears
that the panting, from the wolf, is starting to be louder but less frequent meaning that he is slowing down.
Damian decides to slow down to a halt as well. He then chooses to lie down amongst the still standing dead
crops that sway in the gentle breeze. The wolf is really close now, Damian can hear it panting and sniffing the

In the story Damian is going out on one of his regular midnight moonlit walks
in the fields on the edge of his village, Wold Newton. But, during this walk he
experienced something that he has never experienced before…
During the walk he has a scary experience with a ghostly wolf.
After the spooky situation, Damian and his family is haunted by the ghostly
wolf.
I would like the story to be told like it is kind-of being made up on the spot. I
don't want the narrator to read it as they see it, but to read it as if they are
quickly thinking about what to say. By this I mean, that there should be
noticeable short breaks at certain moments throughout the story.

https://freesound.org/ website. I took different parts from these tracks,
and I changed them by adding different effects of tampering with the

Like for example, for the wolf howl at the end, I changed the volume so that
it would start high, and descend over time to a lower volume. I also added
the delay and echo effect to it, so that it would seem like it is ringing out
through the night.

27. Daily Reflection Day 1
On Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th December, I recorded the main
audio parts for the project. I did this with my friend Elliott in an empty
classroom in the college. I then recorded my parts at home.
During Wednesday I also looked at the website Freesound, and I found
some audio tracks that I liked, and thought would suit well for the
project. I picked out some audio tracks that I could use for the sound
effects.
I added these to my project on Premier Pro 2021. I was starting to
collect all the parts that I needed.

28. Daily Reflection Day 2
On Monday 13th December, I edited most of the video in Premier Pro.
I started by listening to all the tracks and shortening them to the
correct size.
I then ordered them accurately, making sure to separate them onto
different levels and to leave gaps where the sound effects needed to
be added in.

29. Daily Reflection Day 3
On Tuesday 14th December, I shortened the length of the sound
effect tracks and added them in at the necessary points.
After that I asked my tutor for some feedback. When I received
the feedback, I adapted / changed the project to the feedback.
I added some extra parts, of the sound effect audio tracks that I
had, to make it more suspenseful and thrilling at times of danger.
I also took out a line at the end and replaced it with a howl of a
wolf which faded out to the end.

wanted to separate each part by putting them at different
levels and adding in different colours. You can also see when I
have altered the volume levels on selected audio tracks.

I listened to a BBC Audio Drama called The Archers. It wasn't based on
anything spooky. There were several stories told, they were set in modern
times with things said about Covid-19.
I also listened to a few different YouTube videos that had people talking
about their own / families experiences, and some people were reading them
from the internet and rating them.
After listening to the videos / audio dramas, I typed out things that they
added in for suspense. Subtle things that have deliberately been added in. I
used these ideas for when it came round to editing my audio project.
We also had to look around on the internet for spooky stories in England or
Yorkshire. I took some ideas from a story that particularly interested me.

33. Planning
For the planning section I had to write my story which must have taken a fair few
hours. I read over it multiple times to check if it was how I wanted it. I would
change different parts, of the story, as the project would go on. At first the
dialogue was a bit too unrealistic, so it had to be changed.
I also had to write out the script for the project. While writing out the final script, I
changed some more parts to make it sound better. I added some words / lines, I
also took some words / lines away.
In the planning I had to fill in different tables.
One was for the sound effects that I would need for the project.
Another was for the actors & locations for recording.
The last one was for what resources I would need to recreate the sound effects.
And for the Music slide, I added that I used the website Freesound.com to look for
suspenseful audio tracks.

34. Time Management
I think that I managed my time during this project very well.
The research took about a week in college to complete. We had to listen to other audio projects, like a BBC
Drama, or a spooky story being told for a YouTube video. We then had to write down ideas of things that we
could add into our project.
The planning took about a week in college to complete. We had to explain our ideas for our story, and answer
questions on different slides of a PowerPoint.
The story took about a week in college to complete. We wrote some parts at home and some parts at college. I
then also had my teacher check over the story, to give some feedback on it. After that, I changed my story so
that it was more realistic.
The recording took two days to complete. We recorded Elliott's part on a Tuesday, at the end of the day, in an
empty classroom. I recorded my parts, on the same day, at home after college. I then recorded any extra parts
on the following day.
The following day, I transferred all the files from my phone to my computer in the college. I reviewed the audio
tracks, to see which ones I would be using, as I had multiple of each line / paragraph.
The next week, I started to find sound effect tracks from free audio track websites. I then started to line up the
audio clips that we recorded into the correct order, on Premier Pro 2021, and then add in the sound effect
audio clips too. To finish off the project, I added a background picture of a foggy field.

35. Technical Qualities
When me and my friend Elliott recorded the different parts of the story / script,
we left a few seconds before and after the line / paragraph. I thought that this
would be useful because then when it came round to editing, I didn't want
words to be cut off at the end or at the start of the line / paragraph. I shortened
it down when editing, but I left some silent breaks for longer, at times, for effect.
On most of the sound effect audio tracks, I edited them by adjusting the volume
to emphasize different parts of the clips. I did this for the twig snapping, and for
the howl.
I also reused sound effects, for instance the howl. I use this when Damian first
hears the howl, and then at the end of the project. When using it for the second
time, I made the volume louder at the start, and then it quietens towards the
end. Along with that, I added the echo & delay effect to make it seem like it is
drifting through the night.

36. Aural Qualities
My friend Elliott helped me out, with the project, by being the main voice actor.
I asked him because I knew that he would be good at that sort of thing, and he
has a deep voice. I wanted to have someone telling the story who had a deep
voice, because for me I felt like that would be the perfect thing to use to make
the story seem spookier and more mysterious.
I added a suspenseful soundtrack throughout the whole project. I put this over
Elliott's voice, and I was very satisfied with the amount of thrilling effect.
I also added different sound effects when there was the possibility of fear or
danger.
Some lines had to be filmed again and merged onto the end of the specific
paragraph. This can be somewhat easily recognized, when listening, which
would be a negative point of the project.
At some of my whispering lines, they were very quiet, so I had to adjust the
volume. However, I didn't make it too loud because I didn't want it to not be
seen as a whisper anymore.

37. Audience Appeal
I think that my project would be aimed at teenage boys between the ages 13 – 16. I
think that it would suit this demographic because I imagine that teenage boys, at
these ages are more into wolves, ghosts, and spooky stories, than anyone else.
However, I could be wrong, and this story could be interesting / engaging for so many
different groups of people. The story involves a teenage boy who is taking a nice
midnight moonlit walk in the fields near his village. He hears a howl from behind him,
and in terror, he starts to run as quickly as he can from the area. He is now being
hunted by the ghostly wolf. Near the end of the story Damian has decided to walk
quickly back to his house, he does not know that the wolf is following him. It haunts
him and his family forever.
I picked to base my story on tales from a village called Wold Newton. There were
several reports of werewolves and zombies seen in the fields here. I thought that I
would use parts of this story, to make my own.
