1. Audience Research – Final Magazine Questionnaire
1. What gender are you?
For the first question, 4 people answered female and 2 answered male. This means
that the range people I asked were representative of my target audience and real life
readership.
2. What age are you?
In this question, 3 people answered with 16, 2 answered with 17, and 1 answered
with 18. I think that this shows how my audience appeals more to a younger
audience rather than those closer to adulthood.

2. 3. What is your ethnicity?
In this question, 5 people answered “white” and 1 wrote “Thai”. This shows how
many people who listen to rock music are in fact white, and maybe this style of
music doesn’t appeal to ethnic minorities as much as other types might.
4. Which genre do you think my magazine is?
In question 4, all six people answered with “Rock” rather than the other two options,
I think that this means I have created a very clear, targeted music magazine.
5. Would you buy this magazine for the price given?

3. On this question, 4 people answered yes, and 2 no. I think this could be to do with
social class differences, as many middle class teens would be more likely to be able
to afford this magazine regularly than the working class.
6. Did you think my colour scheme was effective?
In this question, all 6 people answered yes, proving that my idea to use quite a dark,
harsh colour scheme on my rock magazine did give the desired effect.
7. Do you think these are original designs for a rock magazine?
On this question, half of the people answered yes, and so the other half answered
no. I think that this could be to do with the fact that I followed many codes and
conventions of rock magazines, so some may not see these as original ideas.

4. 8. Do you think that my contents page was set out in a way that made it clear and
easy to find the stories you wanted to read?
Here, five people answered yes and 1 answered no. Next to the no, this person
wrote “Use categories”. This could have made the positioning of certain articles
more clear.
9. Did you find my article interesting and engaging?
4 people answered this question with yes, and 2 with no. I think this is down to
personal preference and taste.

5. 10. Were my models and pictures appropriate and relevant to my genre?
All people answered this question with yes, showing that it was a good idea to use a
very alternative model for my front cover.
Finally, please express any opinions you had on the pages of my magazine you have seen
and point out any strengths or things that could be improved upon
