1. Questionnaire
analysis
I made a questionnaire and asked 10 people from
my target audience what their opinions were on
my final music magazine. Here are their
responses
2. Questions about the front cover
Q1) What stands out most to you on my front cover?
For this question the most popular response was the colour
scheme. I am happy that this stood out to the audience as
this was important in drawing people towards my
magazine. The colour scheme was also important as it
directly demonstrates who my target audience is. The other
responses were fairly equally distributed which shows that
my target audience thought lots of features stood out to
the.

as wanted my target audience to be interested in my
magazine as they would then buy it. I now feel that I
did a good job in making it appeal to my target

Q3) Do you like the layout and positions on this page?
I am pleased with the layout on my contents page as everybody
who answered my questionnaire responded with ‘a lot’ to this
question. This shows that nobody disliked the layout and
everyone was happy with the way things were positioned which
shows I have more potential in selling my product.
Q4) Would you be interested in reading the content shown?
The majority of the responses for this question said they would
be interested in the reading the content available in my
magazine. This is really encouraging as this shows that my
target audience would be interested in buying my magazine as
the content inside is one of the main aspects of buying a
magazine.
Q5) What do you like most on this page?
The most popular answer for this question was the layout
and I am pleased with this result as the layout is important
for this page as it shows the audience what is inside in a
presentable way. The pictures and colour scheme were also
popular in this question which is positive as the colour
scheme is important to draw customers in and pictures add
visual effect so I am happy the target audience like this.

Q6) Did you enjoy reading the article?
Nearly everyone who answered this question said
they enjoyed reading the article. This is good as it
shows my double page spread content has been
approved by my target audience. Two people,
however said they didn’t enjoy reading my article.
This may be due to the type of article it was –Q&A, as
some people may not enjoy reading these. They may
also have not been interested in the questions asked
in the interview, or the girl band itself.
Questions about the double page spread
Q7) Would you stay on this page when reading
my magazine, or skip to another page?
Eight people said they would stay on this page,
whilst only two people said they would move on.
If I was to carry out this questionnaire again I
would ask those people why they would move on
to help me get a better understanding of what’s
need improving and what put them off the page.
The amount of text on the page may be a reason
why they chose to move on.

Q8) Does my magazine look like a music magazine?
I am very happy with the response for this question as
everyone said that my magazine looked like a music
magazine. This was very important as this was one of the
key elements my magazine should have. I think the audience
may have agreed my magazine was a music magazine
because of the musical props I used in my photographs and
maybe my content as this featured music topics.
Q9) What gender do you think this magazine is aimed at?
Again, I am pleased with the answers for this question as
everyone said they thought my magazine was aimed at
females. As this was my selected target audience I am happy I
have been able to produce a magazine that fits with my
planning.
Q10) What age do you think my magazine is aimed at?
The majority of my target audience said that they thought my magazine
was aimed at 15-18 year olds. When planning and researching I decided
to use this age group to make a magazine for, therefore I am happy with
the feedback as it fits within the age range I planned my magazine for.
One person answered with ‘under 15’s’ and if I was to do this again I
would ask what made them think it was for younger females as this may
have helped make my magazine more suitable to my target audience.

Q11) Do you like the overall colour scheme?
Most people said they did like the overall colour scheme,
however 1/5 said they liked it ‘a bit’. If I was to do this
task again I would have researched more into my target
audiences ideal colour scheme as this would have given
me clearer options on what colour scheme to choose. I
would take into account that I may not be able to please
everyone as people in my target audience will have
different options. Overall I am happy with these results as
over half liked the overall colour scheme.
Q12) Does my magazine look like it belongs to the
pop genre?
I am pleased with my last question as everyone in my
questionnaire agreed that my magazine looked like it
belonged to the pop genre. This was a major aspect of
my music magazine as I wanted the pop genre to
stand out so the audience would be clear on what
genre they were reading. As everyone responded with
‘yes’ I also feel I have done well when researching into
pop music magazines as I used this research to
produce my music magazine.
