The document summarizes feedback received on media products created by the author, including a music video and ancillary tasks like a digipak and magazine advertisement.
From feedback on the music video, the author learned that it effectively communicated the narrative of an abusive relationship to viewers of various ages and genders. Some feedback suggested making text shots in the video longer to read and improving lip syncing.
Feedback on the digipak said the cover and back looked professional but images inside could be clearer. Feedback on the advertisement noted the unique editing style but suggested including more information. Overall, the feedback helped the author identify strengths in design and areas to provide more clarity and detail in future projects.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Audience feedback

Question 3 –
What have you
learned from
your audience
feedback?

2. My Music Video Feeback
– My music video is what I got the most feedback on out of all of my media products that I produced. I posted
The video to YouTube and then shared the link to Facebook and Snapchat in hope of receiving feedback and
constructive criticism.
– From these written feedbacks shown here it seemed that people of different ages were enjoying the video and
so I had achieved my aim of having a target audience of 16 and above as 2 of these comments are from 18
year olds and one is from a 48 year old. I also learnt from Emma’s comment in particular that my wide range of
camera angles and lighting changes worked well and created a more professional looking product. However I
had neither got any constructive criticism or any massively detailed feedback, so I then went on to ask people
in person what they thought of the video.
– The first question I asked was what did they think the videos narrative was about. Everyone I asked had a very
clear understanding that the narrative was about an abusive relationship as people gave answers such as:
• “I thought it was showing a relationship that was once happy but turned controlling and toxic”
• “I think it shows an abusive girlfriend manipulating her partner”
• “I think it’s a relationship that has gone bitter and angry and quite scary and aggressive.”
– From those responsive I was really glad to hear that I had managed to communicate the idea of abuse to my
audience for them to be able to recognise it. I also received feedback from both males and females meaning
that my video was attracting an audience of all ages and genders.
– The only criticism I had was saying that they wished some of the shots with text in were slightly longer so they
could read all of the text, and some lip syncing moments are ever so slightly off time with the beat. This allows
me to know to be even more careful with using lip syncing in future and look in even more detail at my
footage once edited to make sure it all pieces together nicely. Overall I was pleased with my feedback on my
music video as I had managed to accomplish my goal of attracting an audience of all genders and ages and I
also managed to create a product with a strong and clear narrative.
3. Ancillary Tasks Feedback
For my ancillary tasks it was harder to get feedback as I did
not post them to any forms of social medias, so I instead got
feedback by asking fellow peers and classmates.
For my digipak I got feedback saying:
“It looks like possibly an indie album, based on the cover”
• “Its really good, the cover and back look really
professional”
• “The cover is awesome”
• “I like it however I feel that the images for the inner of the
digipak could be clearer of what they are supposed to be
showing”
This feedback was really helpful as it showed me that
designing the layout and cover are my strong points and I
need to work on the inside of the digipak. I was happy to see
that it was clear to most of my audience that it was designed
for an indie song/band, however I feel that in future I would
be able to make it clearer through using more colour to make
it appear a bit happier as not all indie songs are sad or happy.
For my magazine advertisement I got feedback saying:
• “The editing is really different and unique so it really
stands out to me how she’s in colour against a black and
white background”
• “It matches well with the digipak through its colours and
fonts however there could be more information on it”
This feedback allowed me to know that there was clear
synergy between my products however I should have taken
more advantage of the space on my image in order to make it
appear more as an advertisement.
