Assessment
MAIN TASK
For my main task I would give myself 24 marks,
making me a low level 3. The reason I didn’t give
myself higher than this is because I still need to
improve the layout and the content of my double page
spread. At the minute it looks empty because of the
white background and lack of text so I am going to add
pictures of the clothing on sale as well as the pictures
of the clothes being modelled. I am also going to add
more information on the clothing rather than just the
name of the item and the price.
The reason I gave myself the marks is because my
photographs were cropped and resized appropriately.
I have also used an accurate use of language and
register and a variety of fonts and text sizes.
ANCILLARY TASK
For my first ancillary task me and Chloe decided to
do a billboard advertising the magazine. I gave
myself 10 marks for this which put me at a level 1.
I gave myself these marks because I used the same
font as I used for the magazine and it was well laid
out. However, my billboard requires a lot of
improvement. To improve the amount of marks it is
worth I need improve the quality of the photos I
have used for the billboard as they are slightly
blurry and it looks unprofessional.
The second ancillary task me and Chloe decided to
do was the radio advertisement for the magazine. I
have had to give myself 0 marks for this task
because as we have been focusing all our efforts
on completing the main tasks we haven’t actually
made a radio advert yet. Although, we have planned
a script for the radio advert so we just need to
record it

ASSESSMENT 1
The first person to mark my work was
Cameron. For my main task he gave me 31
marks which made me a high level 3. He gave
me this mark because he said my magazine
had good content, good pictures, good range of
fonts and looks professional. To improve he
said I should make some sections of my
magazine more colour coordinated.
ASSESSMENT 2
The second person to mark my work was
Shakil. For my main task he gave me 32 marks
which put me at a low level 4. He gave me this
mark because because he loved my layout, it
looks like an official magazine, my use of fonts
was great and the colour contrast well with
each other. To improve he said I should add the
price of the magazine on the front cover.

MAIN TASK

● Make sure none of the colours clash
● Make my double page spread look more filled
● Make sure my contents page is filled
● Make sure all of my photos look high quality
ANCILLARY TASK
● Make sure the pictures on my billboard are high
quality
● Make sure I speak clearly and use appropriate
language to attract the target audience when
creating my radio advertisement

Assessing my work

  • 2. Self Assessment MAIN TASK For my main task I would give myself 24 marks, making me a low level 3. The reason I didn’t give myself higher than this is because I still need to improve the layout and the content of my double page spread. At the minute it looks empty because of the white background and lack of text so I am going to add pictures of the clothing on sale as well as the pictures of the clothes being modelled. I am also going to add more information on the clothing rather than just the name of the item and the price. The reason I gave myself the marks is because my photographs were cropped and resized appropriately. I have also used an accurate use of language and register and a variety of fonts and text sizes. ANCILLARY TASK For my first ancillary task me and Chloe decided to do a billboard advertising the magazine. I gave myself 10 marks for this which put me at a level 1. I gave myself these marks because I used the same font as I used for the magazine and it was well laid out. However, my billboard requires a lot of improvement. To improve the amount of marks it is worth I need improve the quality of the photos I have used for the billboard as they are slightly blurry and it looks unprofessional. The second ancillary task me and Chloe decided to do was the radio advertisement for the magazine. I have had to give myself 0 marks for this task because as we have been focusing all our efforts on completing the main tasks we haven’t actually made a radio advert yet. Although, we have planned a script for the radio advert so we just need to record it Self assessment
  • 3. ASSESSMENT 1 The first person to mark my work was Cameron. For my main task he gave me 31 marks which made me a high level 3. He gave me this mark because he said my magazine had good content, good pictures, good range of fonts and looks professional. To improve he said I should make some sections of my magazine more colour coordinated. ASSESSMENT 2 The second person to mark my work was Shakil. For my main task he gave me 32 marks which put me at a low level 4. He gave me this mark because because he loved my layout, it looks like an official magazine, my use of fonts was great and the colour contrast well with each other. To improve he said I should add the price of the magazine on the front cover. Peer assessment

Improving my work MAIN TASK ● Add a price to the front page ● Make sure none of the colours clash ● Make my double page spread look more filled ● Make sure my contents page is filled ● Make sure all of my photos look high quality ANCILLARY TASK ● Make sure the pictures on my billboard are high quality ● Make sure I speak clearly and use appropriate language to attract the target audience when creating my radio advertisement
