Best practices for DB2 for z/OS log based recoveryFlorence Dubois
The need to perform a DB2 log-based recovery of multiple objects is a very rare event, but statistically, it is more frequent than a true disaster recovery event (flood, fire, etc). Taking regular backups is necessary but far from sufficient for anything beyond minor application recovery. If not prepared, practiced and optimised, it can lead to extended application service downtimes – possibly many hours to several days. This presentation will provide many hints and tips on how to plan, design intelligently, stress test and optimise DB2 log-based recovery.
Think about EVERYTHING you have done in / learned about using Photoshop
provide proof via before and after pics if you have them or by slideshows as some students have already created.
Imagery is important. You could also video your self with an over the shoulder shot to show how exactly you created certain effects (to reach higher grade bands)
Use your print screens you have used in your planning and research and talk about the tools you used.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2. Placing my image I first put a rectangular box
over the page which was
where the main image on my
front cover would fit. I did this
by pressing the ‘Rectangle
Frame Tool’ which is found on
the left hand side of the
programme on the long tool
bar.
I then went to ‘File’ which is
found at the top left of the
programme. Then a drop
down menu appeared as you
can see on the screen shot
to the left. To place my
image I pressed the ‘Place’
button. After this my files
popped up and I picked
appropriate image.
3. Resizing my image
To resize my main image I
clicked on the image and then
pressed the circle in the middle
which is shown on the
screenshot to the left.
I then put my cursor on the
corners of my image in the
small squares (shown to the
left) and dragged the image
into the correct position and
size.
4. Editing my image quality
To ensure my main image
wasn’t blurry to give my
magazine a professional
look, I edited the quality of
the image. To do this I right
clicked on my image and a
large menu of options
appeared. I then pressed on
‘Display Performance’ and
ticked ‘High Quality Display’
5. Adding text
To add text to my front cover I
had to press the ‘Type Tool’
which is found on the left tool
bar. I then resized the text box,
clicked on it and added my title
‘Leeds Life’
6. Choosing a font
When deciding which font I
wanted to use for the title of
my magazine I pressed the
drop down menu and looked
at all the different options
before deciding on ‘Chanson
Heavy SF’
7. Layout of my front cover
I made my masthead central by pressing
this central align button which is found at
the top right of the programme.
I also changed my font to
bold using the drop down
menu found underneath
the font menu.
I changed my
masthead font to
96pt using the font
size tool next to the
font menu.
8. Changing my text
colour
After deciding the font and
size of my text I needed to
change the colour. I did this
by using the ‘Fill’ button at
the top of the page. As I
had already decided the
colours I was going to use
for my magazine I was able
to type in the correct
numbers to get my specific
shade blue.
