2. THE EQUIPMENT
Lens – Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm
Settings- manual Aperture f11 – Shutter Speed 1/300th
Soft boxes
The model lights use soft boxes – they disperse the light and gives a much
softer,rounder light on the models
Horseshoe flash trigger
Infra red signal sent to strobe flash – triggers the flash in-sync with the camera
shutter
(speed set to 1/300th sec to match the strobe speeds)

Dial on back adjusts output – modeling light on
Auxiliary light set to slave (triggered in-sync with by built in light sensors)

Is lit with a further two strobes on full power to create a high

5. THE HARDWARE

I have used an iMac and it was easy to use and
understand where everything is and also how to control the
Mac.
With knowing how this computer work I found it easy to find
the shortcuts by using the keyboard rather than trying to
click on them with my mouse along the top bar

6. THE SOFTWARE
Chrome helped with
researching all of my
resources and also
with enhancing my
ideas for my magazine
I have used prezi to help
me structure and plan
how I am going to make
my magazine and also
while making my
magazine I can look
back on what I have
written on what my
magazine could look like
for youtube I have found songs that are in the
genre of my magazine to help me get inspiration
from the style of music video and their style, to
help with how I should dress my subjects in that
genre's style

7. PHOTOSHOP
Helps with moving layers and also
their size. And I have used free
transform throughout the making of
my cover and contents
This helps with copying a layer, rather
than making a new one, and I have
used this a lot in both making my
contents page and the cover.
This helps with the
style o the layers
especially with the font
text, it helps it give
more dimension or
even texture to the
text.
This button can hide layers to
see if the page suits it or not.
Also with the effects that I have added
on the layers I can see what the
effects look like with or without.
This helped me with changing the
way the text on the contents page
and the cover look like, it changes
how you would want the spacing
of the paragraphs and the spacing
of the words. And by using this it
helped with giving more style on
the text.

8. PHOTOSHOP
Lasso helps with tracing the outline of
the models, so it helps take the
background away.
This crop tool helps to reduce the size of photos or shapes.
This plaster tool helps with covering blemishes and scars that might be on the model.
This tool helps with erasing parts of an image or shape to my desire.
The text tool is to add subtitles, cover lines and the main body text on my cover
and contents page.
This tool helps with making shapes especially the lines on my contents and cover
page.
Finally, I would use this colour changing tool to help with changing the colours of the
different parts of my magazine and also matching certain items to the colour theme

9. INDESIGN
This helps with placing photos or the
graphic on to the article page, however
by using ‘Place’ it would sometimes
make the photo either too large or too
small when the size of the box is drawn.
This would help fit the photo to the contents or frame that I have drawn out.
Also it helps with knowing how well the photo or graphic will fit with the
contents or the frame.
This was really useful in resizing the photo on the page, because there isn’t
‘free transform’ on InDesign.
For the effects, I have
used them to help make
some of the graphics on
my article to have a
decrease in opacity

10. INDESIGN
This tool helps with zooming in and out on
the article page, this would help me look at
my page from different perspective.
The selection tool is a general tool that
is used to help move and select object,
and I have used this through out
The text tool is used for drawing my text box
before adding any text to it, so I know where to
put it and how it would fit with the photo or
graphics around it.
This tool is used to draw a box, and this would
enable me to place an image within the box,
however without this tool I wouldn't’t be able
to put a photo the page.
Finally with this tool it helps with changing colours
I have used this tool
through making my
article because I
helped with the text
layout of my article
and also it has all the
other tool that I have
used in some aspects
of my article.

11. IMOVIE
This shows all of the videos, photos
and audio that I have imported.
This shows the audio that I have added
onto my video, in this case you can see the
song that I have chosen. I can change
where the song could start and end, and
you can change the volume of the song to
either be the only thing you can hear, so the
loudest or you can make it fade into the
background.
These are both photos that I have made them go side
by side, and I have done this by using the ‘side by
side’ tool.
I have used I movie before so it was easy
to know how it works in terms of editing a
video adding effect and transformation.
This shows all of the videos and photos that I have
added to make this video, also I can see where
each of them in order that I desire. I can also edit
the way the video is made by splitting the video
and cutting pieces of the video, and this would
make a jump shot when I do this.
