This document discusses assessing and measuring a school's value proposition. It outlines several tools and challenges schools may face in determining how well they are achieving their mission and impact, including: 1) Using accreditation processes, alumni surveys, and program reviews to evaluate a school's mission and students' post-graduation experiences. 2) Implementing accountability mapping, logic models, and balanced scorecards to link a school's resources, activities, and outcomes to their mission and strategies. 3) Facing challenges such as a lack of shared understanding of mission, imperfect data, and resistance to change. Schools have opportunities to address current interest in accountability by connecting planning and budgeting to make their case for support.
