The Old Regulations Regarding Statutory Reform
Executive Summary:
In conducting this report, it became clear that significant flaws were present with the old regulations
regarding statutory reform. These issues created audited financial statements which investors were
never fully confident with trusting, as well as creating many opportunities for the independence of
auditors to be compromised.
For this report, both group work for a presentation, as well as significant individual research went into
finding the relevant content for a comprehensive report. Concluding this report it is evident that the
new regulations do cover a wide range of ground, however there are many critics of these new
regulations, who feel they will add cost and complexity, whilst possibly harming the quality of
services accounting firms can overall offer to their clients.
Table of Contents:

1.1 Introduction:
To fully understand this report, it is first important to understand the reasons as to why statutory audit
is important, and why the rules which regulate statutory audit to change over time. This can be broken
down into two questions.
Firstly, statutory audit is needed so that the financial statements which companies produce can have an
increased level of creditability and trustworthiness to them. This is so when users of the

Synthesis And Reflection Paper Example
Synthesis and Reflection on LEAD6163
This author has been involved in teaching and leadership activities as a member of the Port Orange
Church of the Nazarene (PONAZ), a small church in eastern Florida. Florida Department of State,
Division of Corporations (2017) stated that PONAZ was founded in 1985, with the current
congregation at about 110 attendees for Sunday morning worship. Other than Sunday worship,
programs provided by PONAZ include a preschool, Sunday School, children and youth activities,
recovery groups, and community outreach events. Recently, with the unexpected death of the long
time superintendent of church ministries, a need for the appointment of a strong leader was created.
Desired Leader Characteristics
The ideal leader of PONAZ church ministries would be able to exhibit concern for others as a
necessary soft skill found to be at the top of the list of admired qualities by Marques (2013). Marques
(2013) noted other important soft skills which included honesty, being true to values and beliefs,
humility and having the ability to lead by example. Each of these characteristics would be necessary
for a leader at PONAZ.
Drucker (2005) discussed leaders with values that fit with the organization. At PONAZ, as a Christian
organization, leaders must demonstrate characteristics that identify them as Christ followers. Evans
(1996) discussed leaders needing to walk the talk (p.2). Some of the Christ like characteristics include
loving people, listening to

John Ray Cash Essay
Johnny Cash was born February 26, 1932. His parents called him J.R. because they couldn t settle on
the name of John or Ray so they called him JR. His father was a poor farmer who moved the family
several times while Johnny Cash was a child. This made for a lot of instability in his younger years.
His father farmed and when the farms were not doing so well in the beginning of the 30 s his father
packed his family up and moved them to Dyess County in northeastern Arkansas. There was
government assistance there to be had. The government provided Johnny s family with a house, barn
and some farm land. This was so that their family could raise cotton. His family stayed there and made
a home finally. His father never really ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Johnny would pick up drinking and doing drugs like his father had done when he was smaller. All this
drove Johnny into depression. He never really liked to talk about it but it was known that he wasn t
happy in his life like he could have been. Even right up until the end of his life he was abusing drugs.
It was like he always tried to mask the pain but it never worked. He went into the military and went to
the Korean War as a Morris code decoder. He couldn t really make a living doing anything else where
he was from due to the economy so he enlisted. While he was in the military he picked up playing the
guitar very well and making music. At first he was mortified that people there partied, womanized and
swore but as the years went on he too picked up these bad habits. When he got home from the war he
got married to he first wife Vivian and had three daughters. He worked very hard at this time of his
career traveling and singing. This is where he was introduced to his drug habit. One day he was
driving and a friend of his offered another friend a drug to stay awake. Johnny asked if he could have
one and it rejuvenated him to the point of not sleeping for an entire day. He loved the energy that it
gave him but wasn t fond of how he felt when his high was over. He finally divorced from his first
wife Vivian because of his being not home and his womanizing nature. In time he married June Carter

How Language Affects Culture And Woman
Throughout history men have always been consider to be the more dominant and aggressive sex
therefore allowing them to take on more of a powerful and leadership like role amongst their
community. Although this sort of power has been in play for generations it has allowed for woman to
not always be able to express their opinions on a particular subject or be heard by the male population
at all. In today s society we still see many examples of how men are still dominating culture and the
language that surrounds it through the idea of muted group theory and the relationship it has between
men and woman A prime example of how language affects culture and woman are how we still use
certain words to describe objects or people in either a masculine or feminine sense. Words like Mr.
and Mrs. show the title of a person but when it comes to woman it shows their marital status. Whereas
with men it doesn t put emphasis on anything other than their gender. This example in today s society
shows to a sense that woman is sometimes thought of as objects or a piece of property that can be
owned rather than a human being with rights and opinions. Another example of language is when
people refer to professional jobs in the work force or when referring to a group of people by using a
masculine association with each term. The terms policeman, fireman, postman or using the phrase you
guys are all examples of how we as a society use masculine identities to describe a group of people
that can be

How Did Josef Mengele Become Synonymous With Evil
Josef Mengele is a name that has become synonymous with evil in more ways than one. In addition to
his highly visible and significant role in Hitler s homicidal reign of horror, he was also involved in
many medical experiments. He was then arrested in the year of 1946 for the murder of over a thousand
innocent human beings, including children at the Death Camp Auschwitz. Despite people s wishes for
him to stay imprisoned, he was later released in the same year he was imprisoned for unknown
circumstances. This caused an investigation to follow later on as to why Dr. Mengele was roaming
around free without any punishment. Dr. Josef Mengele wasn t just known for deciding people s fate
with his main pointing finger, but he was also known for the number of barbaric medical experiments
that he did on children and sometimes adults. Wanting to find the secrets of heredity, he d ask SS
officers to see if they could find anyone with unusual traits, including twins, whenever a new group of
cattle cars loaded with prisoners arrived at Auschwitz. Although, when twins were usually found at
camps such as Auschwitz, they usually turned out to be orphans. Therefore, many children, especially
the one s with unusual traits, had frequently witnessed the murder of their beloved ... Show more

DNA typing procedure that is also referred to as the Polymese Chain Reaction (PCR) Dot Blot Test.
Once the test results came in 1985, it was confirmed that the skeletal remains were Dr. Josef Mengele

threaten of appearing new competitors. When HTC released touched screen phone in 2007, apple
entered into same market with same technology. Other leading firms as NOKIA and MOTOROLA

Description Of An 11th Birthday Party
My 11th Birthday Party
Here I go, Splash! That was an epic cannonball. I was so excited when my 11th birthday rolled
around. I woke up, scrambled up the stairs and yelled everyone in the car NOW! We have a party to
get too. When we first got to the campsite at Yogi Bear, I got my bathing suit on and jumped in the
lake. When my friend, Harper, showed up we both got on the lake then we went to the JUMPING
PILLOWS! I love the jumping pillows although I did get banned from them when we left because I
was doing FLIPS! Oops. Finally, Karlie showed up eventually we all went to the jumping pillows and
jumped around with these boys that at first looked pretty cute but were real jerks. After we got back
we went swimming in the lake and my mom said that I had to help set up our tents before I could do
anything so she was sort of a fun killer. I got out of the water to help my mom when my mom gave me
a pack of water balloons which of course we blew up to throw at people.
I had invited one of my other friends, Elly she showed up after Karlie did. When all my friends were
there I finally go to open PRESENTS! I was so excited to open my present I could have died from an
excitement overdose. Everything became fuzzy and started spinning CanT bReaTh I m just kidding
but trust me it would have been bad. I vastly started tearing away at the gift wrap to get to the good
stuff it was like I was trying to get to Narnia.

When Does Tim O Brien Tell The Truth Analysis
When we tell a story that really took place in the past, we are honestly telling the truth or a lie because
the memory is something that remind us about our past that we want to remember or is our brain lying
to us about our past by choosing what to keep or leave out our memories about our past to help
comfort us moving forward in life. Do you believe Tim O Brien made the book all the more genuine
by using story truth instead of happening truth ?
Happening truth is telling something reality that you went through in the past. It leaves no pictures in
your mind, you don t feel what the story teller experienced. It s an event that realistic happen. It
implies you are left with faceless responsibility and left with hopelessness with how he felt. Example

These story truth he s telling are fictional, but they hold truthful emotions. It is consisting of the

and experience it for themselves. The examples he used were as follows: O Brien expresses that what

Mujahideens In Afghanistan
Afghanistan is a mountainous region in Central Asia that is home to more than 30 million people, with
a history that goes back thousands of years. Some of the biggest events that occurred in Afghanistan s
history are the Soviet Afghan War that stretched over ten years, the rise of the Taliban and the
establishment of the newest constitution that was put in place to help aid to the recovery of
Afghanistan. The state of Afghanistan has undergone many events throughout its history with each
event setting the stage for the following one. Since it has always been a country with little stability
within its government it is vulnerable and weak which makes it easier for other countries or groups to

The fighting was between groups that developed within the state called mujahideens. One of the most
popular mujahideen groups to emerge during this time period is called the Taliban, which had
developed into the dominant political and military force. It formed in the early 1990s and consisted of
men and students who didn t like like Soviets in power. One of the reasons that it became popular very
quickly was that it offered a chance of reaching stability within Afghanistan. By the year of 1996 the
Taliban had taken control over the capital, Kabul. During the same year the leader of another terrorist
group called Al Qaeda moved to Afghanistan, and the members of the Taliban graciously accepted
Osama Bin Laden. At the same time the U.S. was trying to get Bin Laden out of hiding so they asked
Afghanistan and the Taliban if they would give him up to them, but they disregarded it. Years later on
September 11th 2001Al Qaeda attacked the U.S. Targeting the Pentagon which was located in Virginia

the results were the same as before, the Taliban refused to give him up. The response of the U.S. was

Gender Roles are excepted behaviours belonging to each sex (Brian Furze, 2014) which is related to
gender binaries, which stipulates individuals of each sex to conform to the ideologies of masculinity
and femineity (Jack David Eller, Culture and Diversity in the United States 2015). There is a clear
connection between socialisation and gender identity in regards with adolescence, which is supported
through the findings of Erik Erikson and Lawrence Kohlberg.
Erik Erikson s Theory:
Erik Erikson (1902 1994) used Freud s findings as a foundation to develop a theory about human stage
development. During Erikson s work from 1950 1963 he added modifications to Freud s findings
resulting in a proposition of a psychoanalytic theory of psychosocial development that occurs over a
human s lifespan and encompasses all life stages of human development; infancy (birth to 18 months),
early childhood (2 to 3 years), preschool (3 to 5 years), school age (6 to 11 years), adolescence (12 to
18 years), young adulthood (19 to 40 years), middle adulthood (40 to 65 years) and maturity 65 to
death) (simplypsychology.org). Each stage has a positive or negative outcome based off when the
human experiences a psychosocial crisis in which results one s personality development. Erikson
based his findings off the term, crisis . He used the term for different implications of each human
development stage. Once

way that our men fighting in the War don t have to lay around on threadbare blankets and have very

with volunteers to help the wounded, both men and women. They are installed with beds, and

still some questionable methods as to what the hospitals do. Our readers ask, What about the mobile

Racial Profiling And The War On Terrorism
Racial Profiling applied in the War on Terrorism

July 13th, 2017
Racial profiling is a futile method in preventing domestic and international terrorism. But regardless
of this fact, the United States has attempted to employ this technique in its counter terror and
espionage efforts dating back as early as World War II. And as long as this has been present in has
been a point of contention and discussion amongst the American populace, as this country has well
documented accounts of this throughout their history that include: the internment of Japanese
Americans in WWII, the profiling of minorities and low income areas during the War on Drugs, ...

This was not the first time that a racial make up was used to classify and compartmentalize a possible
threat to the nation. (Elliott, 2006).
The earliest example of racial profiling would be during the Japanese internment Executive Order
9066 was a United States presidential order signed and issued during World War II by President
Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 19th, 1942. The order authorized Secretary of War, and the
Military Commanders whom he may from time to time designate to prescribe certain areas as military
zones, clearing the way for the removal, relocation and incarceration of Japanese, German, and Italian
Americans to internment camps. During this time racial profiling was used as a mode of creating
suspicion and investigation, and this was highlighted in the case of Korematsu v. United States, 323
U.S. 214. The case involved a man named Fred Korematsu, Mr. Korematsu was a Japanese American
citizen living in San Leandro, California who, when commanded to enter one of two Japanese
internment camps, declined to leave his town. Korematsu refused to do so based on the claim that the
Executive Order violated his personal rights and was unconstitutional as it violated the Fifth
Amendment to the United States Constitution. (Korematsu v. United States (1944), n.d.)

examples of this. All of the young men had grown up in Catholic families, and they had received a

Their families raised them to be Catholic, and they all attended Catholic school. At home, their faith

Born in 1973 Great Yarmouth, England, United Kingdom, Mark Dawson was bound for an interesting
life. At the age of 13 he wrote his very first novel even admitting now that is not very good. (interview
question #4) When he was a young adult he realized how hard it is being an author when his first book
was put out, and had so little advertising that it had little to no sales. This didn t stop Mark though. For
a brief time, he quit writing and returned to school to become a lawyer. He also worked a series of
jobs such as Disc jockey, factory hand, club promoter, etc. Not to mention at one point he also had a

Strategic Capabilities Of Samsung
Before we evaluate the Strategic Capabilities of Samsung Electronics, we must define the strategic
capabilities in question. We will also break the capabilities down in terms of function and scope.
Strategic capability refers to a business ability to successfully employ competitive strategies that allow
it to survive and increase its value over time. These capabilities are the abilities of an enterprise to
operate its day to day business as well as to grow, adapt, and seek competitive advantage in the
marketplace.
Strategic Capabilities are composed of two types: Ordinary Capabilities and Dynamic Capabilities.
4.2.1 Ordinary Capabilities
Traditional evaluation of a business strategic direction and implementation involved usage of several
tools and best case practices. The capabilities of a company are evaluated in terms of resources and
assets. Managing risks were one of the primary goals where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Here we look at any capability for the organisation to implement a new strategy when it comes to its
products.
Samsung Mobile as a smartphone manufacturer is the biggest company in the Android Market. It
released a record 78 models of smartphones in 2012. The 4 other major OEMs in the Android Market,
namely LG, Motorola, HTC and Sony released a combined total of 71 models in 2012.Samsung sold
384 million smartphones across these 78 models. The 4 other OEMs mentioned above sold a total of
approximately 155 million smartphones in the same year. Apple on the other hand, which is not a
player in the Android Market sold 130 million smartphones across 3 models, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4
and iPhone 4S in 2012.
If we look at sales, Samsung was not only the biggest player in the Android Market but also in the
smartphone market in general. However, if we look at net income, Samsung made 26.5 billion USD at
the end of 2013. Meanwhile, Apple made 38 billion USD in the same

The School For Free Marketing
Imagine a time where Non Profits weren t needed because everything ran perfectly and there were no
pain or suffering, a dream world for sure. There seems to always be a need and that need is constantly
trying to be filled. One need that is in high demand to be filled is the underfunding of our public
education Low in come neighborhoods are having a hard time funding their schools, which is only
making the issue worse of the low income neighborhood. Teachers of those schools are also feeling
the pressure to figure out other ways to obtain donations and funds to be contributed to the schools
they work for. Out of this desperation, funds are beings asked of for profit organizations that they in
turn use the schools for free marketing. The using of these businesses for the funds causes issues with
the schools and the teachers that feel guilty for becoming a walking billboard for these businesses.
Corporations stepping into nonprofits may cause mistrust with their patrons, a possible misdirection of
the mission, and the possible wrong influence on those they are serving. According to the law
professor Henry B Hansmann s journal, The Role of Nonprofit Enterprise , the mistrust of
organizations can occur if the persons they are serving do not feel that their moneys are being used the
way it is supposed to. (Hansmann, 1980) He states that the nondistribution constraint permits
Nonprofits to serve effectively. It is used to assure funds donated will go towards what collected

The Cloning Of Human Cloning
Technology is advancing at a greater rate than anyone could have imagined, it is said that the first
person to live up to 1,000 years old is alive today. However, many humans have a fear that this power
of creation is fashioning an earthy trinity of man, science, and technology. Many of those who believe
and fear this idea are apprehensive of various upcoming technological advances. After the first
successful cloning experiment of a sheep, Dolly, scientists have looked into human cloning and the
benefits it would offer humanity. Cloning of humans would give parents who are infertile the
possibility to have a child that would be biologically theirs and if they wish theirs partners.
Additionally, cloning would help aid people who are sick. Thru cloning humans, doctors would be
able to have a perfect organ transplant or bone marrow donor. Furthermore, the advancement in
cloning would generate an evolution in genetic research, helping clone identical cells and tissue along
with reproducing human organs identical to the one the patients needs with their own DNA. Under a
utilitarian stance, it is morally correct for us to conduct human cloning because it benefits the greater
good. Human cloning would not undermine God or create an uneven advantage to those cloned; it will
only help create advances in our society and help save more human lives. Human cloning should be
permitted under regulations that check where the child is going. One of the disadvantages of cloning
humans is

America Needs More Public Transportation Essay
America Needs More Public Transportation
Automobiles play a major role in today s society. Almost every American owns at least one motorized
transportation vehicle. Some say they make our lives better by reaching places faster than before.
Others say they are a harmful to the environment. Have they made our society better or worse? They
may be fast, but do we as humans want our environment to suffer because of time. Face it, cars
pollute. And they release destructive chemicals into the air. Air pollution can threaten the health of
many subjects in the environment including human beings.
Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start
making a difference to this problem. In order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would then decrease air pollution.
There are many forms of public transportation such as: buses, trains, airplanes, trolleys, subways, and
many more. Today these transits are not as widely used as they need to be in some areas, in my
opinion. Of course they are the preferred method of travel inside urban areas; the American Public
Transportation Association shows this data when they listed in 1999 the top thirty five largest transit
agencies. As seen, they are all major or larger metropolitan areas such as: New York, NY, Los
Angeles, CA, and Chicago, IL (10/3, http://www.apta.com/stats/modesumm/35mbag.html). Rural
areas need these wonderful services just as often too. People in these settings drive farther to reach
their destinations so therefore they drive just as much as in major cities but have more driving time. So
therefore air pollution needs to be taken care of everywhere, not just in metropolitan areas.
Fifty cents of the gasoline tax dollar increase will go towards making the public transit system more
feasible to people. This includes more bus stop locations, more arrival and departure times, more
accessible train and airplane facilities, and increased safety precautions. Cheaper fares would also be a
good means to increase the use of public transportation. In Huntsville, Alabama where the town is
trying to have an efficient city system and is doing well at it, the tourist trolley fare is one dollar per
trip and two

La Edad Media, de los siglos V al XV
Edad Media

Drug Corruption In American Politics
Mexico has had an extensive history with drugs and drug cartels influencing everyday life in the
country, largely shaping how politics are run in the country. Many claim that in order to cut out issues
of drug and crime in Mexico, corruption in politics must first be dealt with. Over time, drug corruption
in Mexico has caused a worldwide chain of events, affecting citizens and political decisions around
the globe. Drug corruption begins politically before elections even take place, and continue after
politicians are out of office. Political exploitation has caused violence and other illegal conduct for a
long time, but influence and issues have escalated significantly to reach the peak that they are at now.
At its core, drug corruption takes place between drug cartels and politicians that already hold positions
politically. From smaller scale police officers, to higher ups in Mexico s political system, drug cartels
have an impressive influence. Considering the huge income that drug cartels bring in daily, they have
the money, resources, and connections to control even the highest members of the government.

They claim that ending drug funded politics would solve the whole problem, and that in order to end
the war on drugs, we simply need to carefully analyze the finances of each political candidate, and
eliminate any candidate that is funded by drug money. The problem is, drug cartels are smart; they
funnel their money very cleverly in order to not get caught. Often times, politicians will own
businesses that will suddenly boom due to drug cartel influence. For years, Mexico has been at war
with drug cartels, and both sides have been learning and adapting. Cartels cannot be discredited: they
know what they re doing. Mexico must take this into account when trying to eliminate drugs influence

Romeo and Juliet Movie comparison Essay
Movie Compare and Contrast
There are many similarities and differences between the sixties version of Romeo and Juliet and the
modern version of Romeo and Juliet. It is very easy to spot these differences considering the time
period each movie was set in. There are some things in the play that totally got cut from both movies.
There are also some things that they added to the movies that weren t in the play. Let us get on to the
similarities and differences.
First off, the biggest difference is the time periods of each movie. The older movie was set in Early
Renaissance times. The newer movie is set in the early ninety s. Another difference is the use of
special effects. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Romeo got dizzy for a minute at the party and then he was fine. It had no relevance to the story line
what so ever. Another big difference is Juliet saw Romeo die in the modern version. In the old version
Romeo dies without knowing Juliet was really alive. In the modern version Juliet wakes up seconds
after Romeo drinks the poison. If Juliet would have taken the sleeping potion a minute earlier, the two
lovers could have been together. My final difference is in the modern version once Romeo goes back
into the Verona walls the cops start to chase him. While being chased Romeo makes a stop at the
Apothecary who sells him the poison. In the old version they didn t have an apothecary. Romeo just
shows up with the poison. Those are my differences.
Now how about some similarities. My first similarity is in both versions how the people carried
around weapons. In the old one the people of Verona carried swords. In the modern version of the play
the people of Verona carried handguns. Two different weapons, but they were used in the same fashion
in both versions of the play. Another likeness is Paris didn t bite the dust in any of the versions. He is
only in a few scenes. He s not even in the last scene where he was supposed to meet his maker. While
on the subject of death, Lady Montague does not die in either version. She is seen exiting the final
scene in both versions. She doesn t even have a big role in the story. My next similarity is the

for a particular product. She also explains in depth the significance of carrying out both the market
and the use research activities. The misconceptions related to both the types of the research activities,
the objective of carrying these research activities. To validate her evidence on the misconceptions on
the market and the user research activity she has provided proper examples. It also explains the
similarities between both the user and market research activities. The author has covered almost all the
questions which are required to do the user research activities. She has tried to explain that none of the
activities are competing or better than the other. These two research activities were blended at Move
Inc. due to the limitation of time and budget. The benefits that occurred after combining these two
activities at move Inc. has been explained in detail by the author. Significance: The main aim of the
author is to combine the two research activities and create a complete story for the product. Doing

The Great Train Robbery And Edwin Porter
In this essay I will be discussing five key points throughout Post Production history between the 1900s
1960s. Post Production is seen as a vital component in the cinematic industry as it essentially finalises
the final products. Techniques that have been developed over the years are incredibly important, but
they all have an origin. Although these techniques started out without overwhelming effect, they are
now unbelievably crucial to how films are constructed. The five points I wish to discuss go as follows:
The Great Train Robbery and Edwin Porter himself, D.W. Griffith and his overwhelming influence on
editing, The Jazz Singer, the Kuleshov Effect and finally, 2001: A Space Odyssey. As well as
discussing these key factors, this essay will take into consideration secondary material. In the early
years of post production, there was a distinct lack of editing within the film industry. Everything
filmed was for the most part one continuous shot and lacking too much creativity in the post
production region. Edwin Porter was one of the key founders that changed the way post production
was addressed. Although he originally filmed following what is referred to as Aristotelian construction
(Musser, 1991, p167) he began paying closer attention to how a story could be told more effectively
through visual representation. Edwin began straying away from Aristotelian construction and instead
opted to use cutting to help him create the story he wished to create. Whilst this was not an

Themes in Early American Literature Essays
Themes of Early American Literature
Early American literature does a tremendous job of revealing the exact conditions and challenges that
were faced by the explorers and later by the colonists of the New World. From early shipwrecks to the
later years of small colonies barely surviving through dreadful winters, the literary works of the time
period focus on some very recognizable themes. The theme of any given work being simply the
unifying subject or idea is a very important element of any piece of writing. As one reviews some of
this early literature, it becomes obvious that several themes appear repeatedly, and it is these subjects
that were clearly very common among people from all over the New World. While a number of
themes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The explorer narratives, however, were not the only ones which described a dark and forbidding
quality of the New World. The colonists at Jamestown and all along the eastern coast suffered through
harsh winters with minimal supplies, causing many deaths and making life in the New World
extremely challenging. For example, in William Bradford s Of Plymouth Plantation he remarks that 50
of the 102 Pilgrims who landed at Plymouth had died within the first year (Perkins and Perkins 50).
The reasons for the high number of deaths in the colonies vary, but disease and harsh winters certainly
claimed their share. In addition, the colonies struggled to establish crops and solid dwellings for
months or years after they first landed, and supply ships proved to be unreliable at best. John Smith of
the Jamestown Colony is responsible for writing The General History of Virginia, New England, and
the Summer Isles in which he depicted the grievous condition of the colonists only days after the ships
departed and left them to the mercy of the land (Reuben 6). He wrote, Being thus left to our fortunes,
it fortuned that within ten days scarce ten amongst us could either go, or well stand, such extreme
weakness and sickness oppressed us. (Perkins and Perkins 36). In the same piece of literature, Smith
also noted another very ominous threat to the well being of the

Pitbull Persuasive Speech
When I say I have a pit bull does that frighten you? For most people, it does, even though it shouldn t.

as their owners. Did you know that in a way pit bulls are not even a breed? There are seven different
dog breeds that are classified as pits. My puppy, a terrier, lab, retriever, and pit bull mix, is both loving
and affectionate, but because she is part pit bull many already have a bad image plastered in their
heads without even meeting her. When uneducated people say bad things about pit bulls, it devastates
me. My personal opinion to this topic may be different than yours; however, I m just asking you to
have an open mind and take into consideration what I am saying. Maybe at the end, you will start to
feel why I am so heartbroken by what people have said about this specific breed. When people
stereotype a pit bull as vicious they are limiting the capabilities as well as opportunities for this breed.

The Stimulus Of The Words
In Jabberwocky the stimulus of the words in context activates thought and the ability to recognize
known structures in memory. The context and the placement of the words in sentences allow us to
make assumptions about grammatical structure. We determine how a particular word functions in that
sentence, i.e., an adjective, verb, adverb, etc. And the words placement within the sentence helps to
reveal meaning. ( Sukar Ray ) Lewis Carroll makes up words that tell a story, when strewn together in
patterns that mimic known grammatical structures. Here, no one to one relationship between word and
referent exists in the world, but it very much feels as if it does because of the context in which the
poem is set. It is also an example of how closely related the concept of musical metaphor is with
poetic metaphor. In his book Bernstein describes the three metaphors used in music: As concisely as
possible, this is it: music has intrinsic meaning of its own, which are not to be confused with specific
feelings or moods, and certainly not with pictorial impressions or stories. These intrinsic musical
meanings are generated by a constant stream of metaphors, all of which are forms of poetic
transformations. (131) Bernstein seeks to prove that music has intrinsic, extrinsic and analogical
meaning much the same way language does for non musical meanings. But the exploration can be
turned inside out so that we might say that Carroll in his quirky sounds and made up strange

If prior evaluation of one s teeth condition shows a misaligned bite or malocclusion, a commonly

cosmetic and reconstructive dental procedure will take a full month to complete. Although such a
surgery requires a painstakingly long time to recover, patients are usually more than happy with the
end result.
A cosmetic dentistry Smile Makeover also takes into careful consideration the skin tone, the hair color
as well as the hue of the eyes in order to make a perfect match for the teeth.
Improvements will usually include optimal tooth color, which usually comes in silver, but there s
always the option of having it in a more natural hue. A tooth colored composite, on the other hand,
will greatly benefit chronic smokers and coffee drinkers as this procedure will bleach their teeth back
to their former pearly white color. If a patient would want to avail of a dental implant, the dentist will

  • 2. These issues created audited financial statements which investors were never fully confident with trusting, as well as creating many opportunities for the independence of auditors to be compromised. For this report, both group work for a presentation, as well as significant individual research went into finding the relevant content for a comprehensive report. Concluding this report it is evident that the new regulations do cover a wide range of ground, however there are many critics of these new regulations, who feel they will add cost and complexity, whilst possibly harming the quality of services accounting firms can overall offer to their clients. Table of Contents: 1.1 Introduction 2.1 Issues with the existing regulations 2.2 What a Green Paper is, and what was discussed within 2.3 The new regulations 2.4 Views of critics 3.1 Conclusion 3.2 Words and phrased cited 1.1 Introduction: To fully understand this report, it is first important to understand the reasons as to why statutory audit is important, and why the rules which regulate statutory audit to change over time. Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations (2017) stated that PONAZ was founded in 1985, with the current congregation at about 110 attendees for Sunday morning worship. Other than Sunday worship, programs provided by PONAZ include a preschool, Sunday School, children and youth activities, recovery groups, and community outreach events. Recently, with the unexpected death of the long time superintendent of church ministries, a need for the appointment of a strong leader was created. Desired Leader Characteristics The ideal leader of PONAZ church ministries would be able to exhibit concern for others as a necessary soft skill found to be at the top of the list of admired qualities by Marques (2013). Marques (2013) noted other important soft skills which included honesty, being true to values and beliefs, humility and having the ability to lead by example. Each of these characteristics would be necessary for a leader at PONAZ. Drucker (2005) discussed leaders with values that fit with the organization. At PONAZ, as a Christian organization, leaders must demonstrate characteristics that identify them as Christ followers. Evans (1996) discussed leaders needing to walk the talk (p.2). His father was a poor farmer who moved the family several times while Johnny Cash was a child. This made for a lot of instability in his younger years. His father farmed and when the farms were not doing so well in the beginning of the 30 s his father packed his family up and moved them to Dyess County in northeastern Arkansas. There was government assistance there to be had. The government provided Johnny s family with a house, barn and some farm land. This was so that their family could raise cotton. When he got home from the war he got married to he first wife Vivian and had three daughters. He worked very hard at this time of his career traveling and singing. This is where he was introduced to his drug habit. One day he was driving and a friend of his offered another friend a drug to stay awake. Johnny asked if he could have one and it rejuvenated him to the point of not sleeping for an entire day. He loved the energy that it gave him but wasn t fond of how he felt when his high was over. • 5. How Language Affects Culture And Woman Throughout history men have always been consider to be the more dominant and aggressive sex therefore allowing them to take on more of a powerful and leadership like role amongst their community. Although this sort of power has been in play for generations it has allowed for woman to not always be able to express their opinions on a particular subject or be heard by the male population at all. In today s society we still see many examples of how men are still dominating culture and the language that surrounds it through the idea of muted group theory and the relationship it has between men and woman A prime example of how language affects culture and woman are how we still use certain words to describe objects or people in either a masculine or feminine sense. Words like Mr. and Mrs. show the title of a person but when it comes to woman it shows their marital status. Whereas with men it doesn t put emphasis on anything other than their gender. This example in today s society shows to a sense that woman is sometimes thought of as objects or a piece of property that can be owned rather than a human being with rights and opinions. Another example of language is when people refer to professional jobs in the work force or when referring to a group of people by using a masculine association with each term. The terms policeman, fireman, postman or using the phrase you guys are all examples of how we as a society use masculine identities to describe a group of people that can be ... Dr. Josef Mengele wasn t just known for deciding people s fate with his main pointing finger, but he was also known for the number of barbaric medical experiments that he did on children and sometimes adults. Wanting to find the secrets of heredity, he d ask SS officers to see if they could find anyone with unusual traits, including twins, whenever a new group of cattle cars loaded with prisoners arrived at Auschwitz. When my friend, Harper, showed up we both got on the lake then we went to the JUMPING PILLOWS! I love the jumping pillows although I did get banned from them when we left because I was doing FLIPS! Oops. Finally, Karlie showed up eventually we all went to the jumping pillows and jumped around with these boys that at first looked pretty cute but were real jerks. After we got back we went swimming in the lake and my mom said that I had to help set up our tents before I could do anything so she was sort of a fun killer. I got out of the water to help my mom when my mom gave me a pack of water balloons which of course we blew up to throw at people. I had invited one of my other friends, Elly she showed up after Karlie did. When all my friends were there I finally go to open PRESENTS! I was so excited to open my present I could have died from an excitement overdose. Everything became fuzzy and started spinning CanT bReaTh I m just kidding but trust me it would have been bad. By the year of 1996 the Taliban had taken control over the capital, Kabul. During the same year the leader of another terrorist group called Al Qaeda moved to Afghanistan, and the members of the Taliban graciously accepted Osama Bin Laden. Many of those who believe and fear this idea are apprehensive of various upcoming technological advances. After the first successful cloning experiment of a sheep, Dolly, scientists have looked into human cloning and the benefits it would offer humanity. Cloning of humans would give parents who are infertile the possibility to have a child that would be biologically theirs and if they wish theirs partners. Additionally, cloning would help aid people who are sick. Thru cloning humans, doctors would be able to have a perfect organ transplant or bone marrow donor. Furthermore, the advancement in cloning would generate an evolution in genetic research, helping clone identical cells and tissue along with reproducing human organs identical to the one the patients needs with their own DNA. Under a utilitarian stance, it is morally correct for us to conduct human cloning because it benefits the greater good. Post Production is seen as a vital component in the cinematic industry as it essentially finalises the final products. Techniques that have been developed over the years are incredibly important, but they all have an origin. Although these techniques started out without overwhelming effect, they are now unbelievably crucial to how films are constructed. The five points I wish to discuss go as follows: The Great Train Robbery and Edwin Porter himself, D.W. Griffith and his overwhelming influence on editing, The Jazz Singer, the Kuleshov Effect and finally, 2001: A Space Odyssey. As well as discussing these key factors, this essay will take into consideration secondary material. In the early years of post production, there was a distinct lack of editing within the film industry. Everything filmed was for the most part one continuous shot and lacking too much creativity in the post production region. Edwin Porter was one of the key founders that changed the way post production was addressed. Although he originally filmed following what is referred to as Aristotelian construction (Musser, 1991, p167) he began paying closer attention to how a story could be told more effectively through visual representation. Edwin began straying away from Aristotelian construction and instead opted to use cutting to help him create the story he wished to create. Whilst this was not an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The theme of any given work being simply the unifying subject or idea is a very important element of any piece of writing. The colonists at Jamestown and all along the eastern coast suffered through harsh winters with minimal supplies, causing many deaths and making life in the New World extremely challenging. For example, in William Bradford s Of Plymouth Plantation he remarks that 50 of the 102 Pilgrims who landed at Plymouth had died within the first year (Perkins and Perkins 50). The reasons for the high number of deaths in the colonies vary, but disease and harsh winters certainly claimed their share. In addition, the colonies struggled to establish crops and solid dwellings for months or years after they first landed, and supply ships proved to be unreliable at best. John Smith of the Jamestown Colony is responsible for writing The General History of Virginia, New England, and the Summer Isles in which he depicted the grievous condition of the colonists only days after the ships departed and left them to the mercy of the land (Reuben 6).
