Lake Hamilton Narrative
It was mid September 2016 we were on our making our way to Lake Hamilton. An hour and a half
later we arrived, it had been my first time in Lake Hamilton ever. I walked into the sunlight exiting the
bus. We all ran to the locker room and got a drink of water and went to stretch so we wouldn t have
problems with cramps and charley horses. We started hitting practice and ran some sprints to warm up.
Soon after the Lake Hamilton football team came out. I wasn t intimidated to the slightest, I knew
what I was capable of and was hunting for fresh blood.
Before I knew it the game was starting they got the ball first that meant that it was my time to shine. I
walked onto the field, my adrenaline was rushing through my body I was ready to show

Persia And Greece
Nowadays, technology may be considered the issue of tremendous consequence. It provides all
spheres of the life being as well as people throughout the planet with the possibility of permanent
development. However, the impact of technology may be also harmful and result in negative outcomes
in the long run. There are many historical examples of how civilizations, which had all predispositions
to successful development, ceased to exist under the influence of the technological aspects. Ronald
Wright states that one of the key debatable issues of the progress is dealing with innovations.
According to the scholar, innovations not only result in new opportunities but also in problems, which
were absent before the appearance of innovations. In case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their achievements in the field of engineering, architecture, culture, and medicine are truly enormous.
Greece is also famous for its great philosophers, like Socrates and Plato, who developed many
theoretical issues, which are relevant even today. Darius the First is considered a consolidator of the
Persian Empire. He managed to develop a strong organizational structure of the country, which lasted
for nearly two hundred years. Xerxes, the son of Darius I, continued the policy of his father. However,
the unsuccessful wars with Greece had a significantly negative impact on the further process of the
development of Persia. An enormous amount of unrecoverable resources, like timber, was used to
build ships and maintain an army. After the death of Xerxes in 465 B.C., Persia did not have a strong
ruler and, consequently, the process of decline started. From the side of the possible impact of
technology on the development of civilization, the situation in Persia is controversial. Despite the fact
the country had valuable mineral resources copper, tin, silver, gold, and iron, people had limited
knowledge concerning the peculiarities of minerals extraction. Therefore, the utilization of the
resources was also limited. The situation with agriculture was unsuccessful. People at that time faced

Summary Of The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes
The message conveyed in Langston Hughes poetry Mother to Son, and I, Too, Sing America shed a
light on the hardship of growing up African American through Hughes experiences as a boy and
young man. In The Weary Blues, Hughes depicts the downside of African culture through jazz. The
author was born in Joplin Missouri, and began writing poetry in the eighth grade. Some of Hughes
earlier poems were published in the magazine Crisis which was run by the National Association for
the Advancement of Colored People. He was a social activist and celebrated the black life and culture
throughout his works (Bouchard). Hughes poetry and short stories include aspects of the African
American life through his eyes as he shares his experiences with the readers.
Hughes wrote about what he knows; the author let his background and early life inspire his writing, as
it is reflected through many of his pieces. Poems written by the author share his beliefs, and lessons he
has learned about his culture growing up (Bouchard). Life was not always easy for him, and Hughes
depicts that message in a handful of his short stories. There are several collects that the author has
written, which inform the audience on the African American experience, Hughes portrays the black
American experience most successfully in five collections of short stories... ( Thematic 39). The
author s mother is included in several pieces along with the common theme of life being a climb;
Hughes gathers information and stories from her, as he realizes his culture is something to be proud of
(Bouchard).
Hughes mother had a huge impact on his style of writing, along with his perspective on certain things.
She was one of the first to teach him life s a climb, and being African American is indeed a struggle
(Thematic). The author writes a poem called, Mother to Son that shares some of his experiences and
lessons learned from his mother. Hughes mother had a very challenging life and shares that with her
son, along with some advice on how to keep pushing through, And sometimes goin in the dark/ where
there ain t been no light./ So boy, don t turn back (Hughes, Mother 187). Hughes mother tells him life

Explain The Realism Of The Gulf War
Abstract
The Gulf War was a brief affair between Kuwait and Iraq in 1990 and 1991 when Iraq invaded
Kuwait, yet many additional state and non state parties involved. Realism is a theory attempting to
explain international relationships, which says that states struggle to hold power and will inevitably be
in conflict with each other because of this. Although realism was a core theory before the Cold War,
many believe that it is no longer applicable post Cold War.
This paper has three parts. First, it will provide a brief explanation of the Gulf War. Second, it will
explain realism including the view of realism s relevance post Cold War. Finally, it will discuss the
realist interpretation of the actions of three large actors involved in the war: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and
the United States. This paper will critically discuss the Gulf War and investigate the dynamics and
motivations of the three main actors involved from a realist perspective. This paper will prove that
although realism is no longer overt, hidden intentions and behaviors line up to agree with a realist
methodology in international relations.
Realism is one theory that has been used to explain international relationships. However, many say
that it is less relevant post Cold War due to changes in politics and interactions between states. The ...

manner, the state acts in a manner explained by realism, which is to take it by sheer force, perhaps

Essay 1900 Vs 2000
1900 Versus 2000
I think that we take for granted the things that we have today. Just look at all of the innovations in
technology and quality of living over the last 100 years. Back in the year 1900, things went crazy. All
sorts of new inventions were coming out all of the time, and people were becoming rich beyond their
wildest dreams. In my opinion, the past 100 years have left us in a completely different world.
Back in the early 1900 s people were amazed to see a person driving down the road in something
called an automobile. This was astonishing. People were getting around without a horse to pull them.
All the person had to do is press the gas pedal to make the car move. ... Show more content on

They had no idea how all of these complicated things worked and that scared them. many of them
wished that none of these things had ever been invented.
Today, technology is advancing at an incredible rate. You can t even buy a computer that isn t already
obsolete. People can now communicate with a video phone, or fly to another country in a matter of
hours. You can run a multi million dollar business from your computer at home. People can go on the
Internet and find out information on everything from the weather to a recipe for chicken soup.
Unlike 1900, if you don t get a good education in today s world, you will not be successful. Even
people who go to college aren t guaranteed to make a lot of money. Today, a car can cost tens of
thousands of dollars, where as back in 1900 you could get one for under a thousand. Back then people
were worried about the destruction of the forests, and today, we worry about what countries might
destroy us with nuclear weapons.
It seems to me that people at the early part of the last century were a lot happier than people of today.
They were surrounded by all of the excitement of the rapidly changing world. People were always
going to parties and having fun. Today,
I hear a lot of talk about how bad people are. There is always something on the news about how a little

The Great Gatsby Narrator Analysis
A narrator is a character who recounts the events of a novel. These characters narrate the novel in their
point of view and how they perceive the events that occur. Their narration may be unreliable due to
bias and dishonesty. F. Scott Fitzgerald s, The Great Gatsby, Nick Carraway, a first person narrator,
tells the story through his point of view and interprets the events and characters in the novel. Nick is
an unreliable narrator because he is biased on his interpretations of the characters and the events that
occur, like Gatsby s death. For example, he speaks negatively of Tom throughout the novel, and
speaks highly of Gatsby due to their relationship. Nick s interpretation of Gatsby s death is seen as
unreliable because Nick s morals change, and he focuses the event on himself.
Nick s interpretations of the characters in the novel are biased due to the relationships he has with
them. Nick describes himself as one of the few honest people that [he has] ever known (Fitzgerald 59).
Nick desperately tries to prove that he is reliable and trustworthy, showing that he is insecure. Early in
the book, Nick shares the piece of advice that his father gave to him when he was younger. He says,
Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone . . . just remember that all the people in this world haven t
had the advantages that you ve had . . . I m inclined to reserve all judgments (1). Nick s desire to be an
authentic narrator, compels people to trust him and his side of the story.

history. He was a controversial figure that surrendered Japan to the Allied Forces in 1945. HiroHito

However, the economy failing, militarism rising and many political assassinations caused a crisis for

HiroHito, who was the highest spiritual authority and commander in chief of the armed forces, fired
the prime minister in 1929. The two prime ministers to follow were both assassinated. One was shot
and mortally wounded, and the one to follow was murdered by naval officers who had quarrels with a

Japan and China s conflict were growing. In 1931, a railway explosion caused by Japaneses army

200,000 civilians and Prisoners of War in the area surrounding and within Nanking. HiroHito did not

The Azusa Street Revival
Allan Anderson, a reader at the Graduate Institute for Theology and Religion, states that
Pentecostalism received global recognition during the events at Azusa Street in spite of having various
origins in the beginning of the twentieth century (Anderson 180). The intense apocalyptic eschatology
of the Pentecostals thus created a self appraisal that their movement was something profoundly
original and which had few precedents in Christian history, suggests Steven Hunt, author of A History
of the Charismatic Movement in Britain and the United States of America (117). Joe Creech, a
doctoral candidate in history at the University of Notre Dame, suggests that Pentecostals believed

Gorman reports that manifestation of the Holy Spirit took precedence over the rules of dogma. He
explains that the unorthodox church practices, which allowed any person to speak behind a pulpit,
created discord among the congregation (Gorman 520). Ben Pugh, a Lecturer in Theology at Cliff
College, UK, describes how William Seymour implemented a third aspect of the evidence of speaking
in tongues to the Wesleyan belief system (Pugh 17). Hegertun explains that rather than attacking the
dogmatic positions of others the evidence of the Holy Spirit and charismatic gifting served as
justification of their theology (37 38). Pugh states that the trifold aspect of theology is implemented to
date by the Holiness Pentecostals with the majority being African American (17). He also reveals that
by 1910, the end result would be a metamorphosis of American Pentecostals to the trifold model of
sanctification (Pugh 17). Hunt explains that receiving the gift of utterance, according to Synan, is the
driving force behind Pentecostalism (117). Dodson proposes that the evidence of the gifts of the Holy
Spirit happening at the revival demonstrated God s authority and existence (52). Hunt reports there
were numerous personal accounts of healings, deliverance, and miracles (116). He reveals that by

The Impact Of Career Dynamics On The 21st Century Essay
The Impact of Career Dynamics in the 21st Century
As envisaged right from the beginning, Career Dynamics in the 21st Century was meant to help
readers to either avoid scarcity mentality or help them embrace the desirable abundance mentality.
Once a critical mass of individuals is driven by the latter, it is possible to synergize and create great
teams, great organizations and eventually a great country. Consequently, is Career Dynamics in the
21st Century performing as desired?
Actually, there are enormous indicators to the effect that matters have taken the desired direction. The
book has now been approved for readership in the entire school system, by the Kenya Institute of
Curriculum Development. It is not only circulating in secondary schools, but also universities, as well
as organizational libraries. Interestingly, the author has continually been invited to speak not only in
national and county secondary schools, but also private as well as public universities. He has also been
interviewed about the book on radio and television stations.
This life changing guide has also been widely embraced by the religious sector, especially the
mainstream churches which include Catholic, Anglican, PCEA, Methodist, CITAM, Baptist PEFA just
to name a few. Actually, countless Leaders of these churches have acquired copies of Career
Dynamics in the 21st Century, especially in Nairobi and its environs.
Alongside, numerous mainstream churches have invited the author of Career

Essay on Technology in Greg Bear s Blood Music
Technology in Greg Bear s Blood Music Different genres of literature are particular responses to
society; therefore, cyberpunk, as a genre, is a response to our contemporary society, known as the
information age. One of the attributes given the genre is that it has an apocalyptic or post apocalyptic
tone, warning the reader of the perils of technology, while at the same time celebrating the
possibilities of technology, usually through a strong character in the novel. In Greg Bear s Blood

Although the idea of having a world without sickness, age, and death seems appealing, Greg Bear
approaches the idea from the what if perspective of something going wrong that could be detrimental
to the whole of society. In Bear s novel, Vergil, an ingenious scientist, creates smart cells from his own
body, going behind the experiments of his company which is trying desperately to develop the
nanotechnology that we are trying to achieve in our own time, and creates natural cells that can think
on their own to manipulate their environment and make it better. Only, when the cells realize the
problems within the living system and begin to change things, it is more that Virgil bargained for.
Each cell from every other living thing is incorporated and melted into an alternate society, making
each cell sentient, but also part of a communal group, sharing DNA, and ultimately throughout the
information transference, making each individual a part of the genetic whole. Because Virgil s creation
ended the world as we know it through the use of technology, it can be seen as the dark, forbidding
text common to cyberpunk fiction. People are melting down into sheets of skin and cities are stopping
like broken down cities, only to be enveloped by the floating masses of paper thin cells that think for
themselves, and yet share information and thoughts indiscriminately. Each person is loosing a sense of

An Modern Methodology For Water Treatment Plant Affecting...
relationship is described by a collection of fuzzy control rules ( IF THEN RULES) involving linguistic
variable [13].
6.1 METHODOLOGY
In this paper we introduce an modern methodology for water treatment plant affecting factors analysis.
The proposed expert system manages and explores the knowledge in this specific application by
reasoning on a database of facts by means of suitable inference rules. The proposed comprehensive,
homogenous framework uses a set of Fuzzy Inference Systems to interpret, standardize and fuse
heterogeneous data in order to estimate normalized factors. The FIS for affecting factor analysis is
divided into four main components: the fuzzification, knowledge base,
Inference engine, and the Defuzzification.
Fuzzy logic controller has four components:
1) Fuzzification: It transforms input into suitable linguistic value so that can be compared to the rule in
rule base.
2) Knowledge Base: It contains the knowledge in form of a set of rules to control the artificial system.
It is the collection of rules. The basic function of rule base is to provide the required information to
fuzzification module, the rule base and the defuzzification module. If part is called antecedent and
then part is called consequent.
3) Inference Engine: If control rules are relevant then it decides the input to the plant. The Inference
system provides the mechanism for invoking or referring to the rule base such that the proper rules are
fired on the situation.

On the Origin of Species
In his On the Origin of Species, written in 1859, Charles Darwin clearly explained the gradual
progression toward the speciation of organisms with his five main principles: variation, inheritance,
competition, selection, and propagation. Darwin hesitated to publish his findings because he
understood that his findings were based on the animal kingdom and on an evolutionary process that
had to have spanned millennia. He specifically did not think that his discoveries were applicable to the
evolution of human society. Contrary to Darwin s preference, Herbert Spencer did exactly what
Darwin hoped to avoid by publishing numerous works supporting his own, new thesis of Social

He lived off of his family s wealth and instead of working, he devoted himself wholly to his studies. In
1896, he published his most comprehensive work, The Synthetic Philosophy, a work encompassing
many of his theories on society, evolution, morality, and psychology. Spencer died December 8, 1903
while working on his autobiography, which was then published in 1904. Through his anti clerical and
rejectionist upbringing, Spencer was raised to attach to a theory like Darwinian evolution. In his first
published article on the development of Social Darwinism, entitled The Development Hypothesis,
1852, Spencer established his lack of faith and claimed that creationism was a theory which is
supported by no facts at all. He further elaborated on the issue and asserted that there must be another
mode by which the world was created. He even went as far as to write that, if he were to interrogate
any leading geologist or physiologists they would be forced to confess that the notion was put into his
mind in childhood as part of a story which he now thinks is absurd. Spencer believed that creationism
was not a viable medium on which to base scientific thought, and as a result, he was forced to find
another way to explain the creation of the world. For this reason, he was drawn to evolutionary
Darwinism. Spencer however, could not just accept Darwinian evolution as fact. Rather, he expanded

Captcha as Graphical Passwords A New Security
Primitive Based on Hard AI Problems
Abstract User authentication has become one of the important topics in information security. Many
graphical password schemes have been proposed, which are used to improve password usability and
security. In this paper, we present a new approach to solve the hard AI problems, namely, graphical
passwords are combined with Captcha technique, which will be referred them as Captcha as graphical
password otherwise we call it as CaRP. CaRP solves security problems such as online dictionary
attacks, relay attacks and shoulder surfing attacks combined with dual view technologies. Captcha as
graphical passwords also offers an efficient approach to address the well known image hotspot

Importance Of Ethics In Anthropology
Vishan Neupane Professor Ritu Khanduri ANTH 2322 002 1 December 2017 Ethics, fieldwork and
anthropology Anthropology is a worldwide discipline which involve social institution, humanities and
natural sciences. Cultural anthropology studies the contemporary human cultures and shows how
social behavior are formed and how they shape the world around them. Anthropological researchers
always have ethical obligations, especially to the materials they study, and the group of people with
whom they work. When exploring the community, anthropologists learn about matters that their
informants would prefer to keep their identity secret which leads them to protect informant identity.
Social research can impact ethical dilemmas. A simple mistake of the anthropologist may lead to
social isolation of an informant. Anthropologists should always know whether the group they are
being researched wishes to stay anonymous or receive recognition. During an anthropologist s
fieldwork, anthropologists look over enculturation. Enculturation is a process by which we obtain and
transmit culture which is experienced universally among humans. It teaches the individual about their
role in the society as well as what kind of behavior is accepted within that culture and lifestyle. Some
anthropologists are ethnocentric. They critique other groups relative to their own ethnic group or
culture, especially with concern for customs, language, behavior, and religion. The group of people

The Necessities Of Developing Green Construction Project...
1. The necessities of developing green construction project management
With the continuous deterioration of the global environment and increasingly serious ecological
problems, it is imperative to promote the sustainable development of the earth. The high speed
economic development and urbanization promote the rapid development of construction industry,
expand the industrial scale, upgrade the industrial structure, and enhance the project quality.
Promoting the sustainable development of construction industry in line with the basic requirement of
energy saving and ecological protecting have become important tasks that are attached more
importance. Under the background of advocating sustainable development, the construction energy
conservation and emission reduction are impossible to ignore. Green construction and its relative
technology have emerged and become the hot issue of in future research.
Currently, the concept of green construction project management has gained popularity and
recognition, but there still exist a number of problems such as ambiguous consciousness of green
construction, immature management technology and poor working competence, etc. The overall
planning of green construction project is the starting point of the implementation of the entire green
construction project management. Without a high level of overall planning of green construction,
green construction project cannot be effectively implemented. In the green construction project, the

Essay on Love in Shakespeare s Sonnet 138
The Philosophy of Love in Sonnet 138
Shakespeare was a superb philosopher, but in his sonnets, he was a philosopher of love. Shakespeare
sets forth the experiences of love and its torments fully within his sonnets. The philosophy of love is
that, love reconciles all. Love is the evil and the good, the lies and the truth. Love is all there is. It
passion as well as deception and lies.
Sonnet 138 , is a notable example of Shakespeare s philosophy of love. Written as a dramatic
monologue, this sonnet (also known as song ) is a lyric. Like all sonnets, there are fourteen lines, with
every four lines written as quatrains in a b a b format. The last two lines are known as a couplet. This
sonnet has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the above six lines, the narrator is explaining the situation of the lies, as they are being shared
between the two of them.
At line 7, the narrator takes on a change of heart as he simply or foolishly places the responsibility of
the lies on his companion. Simply I credit her false speaking tongue (l. 7). The style of mirrored lines
and thoughts, as show through the fist six lines changes at this moment. Yet, in line 8, He say s that On
both sides the ugly truth is suppressed. It appears that he is saying that although he gives her credit for
maybe starting the lies in the first place, they are both currently in the position of the deceiver.
Once again, in lines 10 11 we see another shift in thought as the narrator questions the reality of their
love and the imposing lies. But wherefore says she not she is unjust? And wherefore say not I that I
am old? He is asking himself why she doesn t tell him that she is unfaithful, and why does he not
admit that he is old. In the lines following, he answers this question. Because loves best disguise is the
pretence of truth, and older lovers do not like to have their age pointed out (l. 11 12).
In Line 13, Therefore I lie with her and she with me, notice the double meaning of lie . The line can
also be interpreted as That is why I sleep with her and she with me. In the end, the narrator concludes
that the lies they tell each other help them forget

having this dream for many moons now. He looked down at his food bowl and ate the food. His fur
was glimmering in the morning sun. His dream reminded him of how he always wanted to live in the
forest and hunt for mice. He went out to his twolegs garden. He looked at the forest beyond his home.
He wanted to go and live a life in the forest ever since he was a kit. He had heard of stray cats that
lived in the forest beyond. He thought that maybe he could join them.
He decided it was time he journeyed away from his home into the forest beyond. He knew it was
going to be hard but it was life he had always dreamed of. He thought that maybe other cats might
want to come along with him. He knew that none of his kittypet friends would want to come along. I
might be able to find other cats along the way , he thought. He knew that it was to early to leave today.
He to prepare for the long journey ahead. He had to find the cats that wanted to go with him today. He
jumped down from the fence and started looking.
This task is harder than I inferred , he said to himself. Maybe I should ask some cats I know, he
thought. None of the cats knew any strays that might want to come with him, but one cat

Analysis Of Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House
Henrik Ibsen s play A Doll House addresses the importance of the roles women play throughout this
time period. Women are thought to be like dolls to their husbands, by obeying their commands and
keeping a good image. We see the main character, Nora Helmer struggle to keep her perfect image of a
great wife as troubles start to arise. Throughout the play we begin to see Nora push through her
troubles and find her true identity, Nora shifts from being the loving, perfect wife, to being a strong
and independent woman. Starting in Act one we see Nora Helmer as a loving, wife that likes to spend
all her husband s money. Although, she asks for money quite often and seems to spend freely, she
never spends the money on herself. She only purchases things for the house or her children. Nora
seems like a very selfless individual whose main concerns are her family. Through the statement her
husband, Torvald says that is, if you actually hung onto the money I give you, and you actually used it
to buy yourself something (800), we get the impression that Nora cares more about the happiness of
others than her own happiness. Instead of spending the money on herself, she would rather spend it on
her family. Nora plays the role of a loving woman who wants to please her husband and be the perfect
wife. We later realize there is more to Nora s spending habits than we know. When Mrs. Linde arrives
at the Helmer home, we see a shift in gears with Nora. At first Nora is very happy and

Definition Essay About Words
Each word has a meaning. A word is a name we give things so we can call it something. The definition
of a word according to the dictionary is noun. a single distinct meaningful element of speech or
writing, used with others or sometimes alone to form a sentence and typically shown with a space on
either side when written or printed. To break down, or to simplify what that definition means is, a
more technical meaning. This definition is saying that thing, that a english essay was made up of has
spaces in between all those letters that are crammed together.
When you think about it everything we say is consisted of words. Its how we talk, in any language ,no

Although they are a huge positive resource to civilization there is a downfall. For example Mother
Teresa once said kind words are short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. what she
was saying is that yes words are good but, like the game telephone that most people have played in
their youth; they can be repeated twisted or changed for bad and/or evil. They can start out good but
then change or become evil. Same way opposite though; they could start out evil and then change
good. Another quote from an unknown source is that words are free. Its how you use them, that may
cost you. this quote relates to the previous quote to an extent. But also adds in that you can say any
word you want. There is nothing stopping you from speaking unless you are being physically kept
from speaking or have a disability that does not allow you to do so. If you do decide to use any word
and that word or language causes harm to others there might be conceived that come with those words

Raleigh Was Right Essay
Everyone is necessarily the hero of his own life story. John Barth Throughout this unit the theme is the
concept of a central idea and the idea that works of art often leave many central ideas up to
interpretation for their audience, and to make it even better authors often leave more than one
interpretation up for debate for even one central idea. Four examples of this being The Passionate
Shepherd to His Love by Christopher Marlowe, The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd by Sir Walter
Raleigh, and Raleigh Was Right by William Carlos Williams which use an overarching narrative done
by responses from other author. The poems are about a shepherd pronouncing his love to a woman by

The poem takes the setting of summer and it s droughts and harsh living conditions and runs with it.
One can see this in lines Not now. Love itself a flower with roots in a parched ground. , What can the

bring us no peace. (1 17) The central idea develops with the use of Not now. Love itself a flower with
roots in a parched ground. which uses imagery and a metaphor to associate that nature harsh
conditions can not provide for humans. What can the small violets tell us that grow on furry stems in.
which uses the word furry to convey repulse to the reader to contrast the normally attractive flower.
We cannot go to the country for the country will bring us no peace. the previous two poems talk about
the countryside without directly stating it while in this poem William directly goes out and say it this
shows the core message of his poem that humans cannot have a relationship with nature because it

Immediately after deceiving Hamlet for her father s request, telling him that Polonius is at home,
Hamlet shames and insults Ophelia: Get thee to a nunnery, farewell. Or if thou wilt needs marry,
marry a fool, for wise men know well enough what monsters you make of them. (Shakespeare Hamlet

proceeds to promptly exit the scene. The tension between Ophelia and Hamlet is a direct cause of

Summary Of Django Unchained
An auteur is a director that influences their films so that they can be considered as an author. Quentin
Tarantino is considered an author through his unique directorial film style, examples of Tarantino s
directorial film style are; his use of camera work especially with extreme close ups, bloody violence,
and long drawn out scenes. We have studied Quentin Tarantino s 2012 film Django Unchained, as well
as Tarantino s first box office movie Reservoir Dogs to analyse.
Quentin Tarantino uses camera work in both Django Unchained and Reservoir Dogs to display
character emotion. From what I had analysed I noticed that Tarantino s use of close up and mid shots
help the audience to examine the character s facial expression, from when Calvin Candie is showing
them the skull of an African, you can really see the pity in Dr. King Schultz s eyes and the anger in
Django s face, from Reservoir Dogs cafe scene, you can see each individual character s facial
expression, representing their personalities.
A scene in Django Unchained , that Tarantino applies great camera work is during the skull
examination scene , the scene featured Dr. King Schultz, Django, Calvin Candie, Stephen, and
Broomhilda. The scene opens up with a mid shot on Calvin Candie presenting to them an African
skull, the camera then shifts back and forth to Dr. King Schultz and Django. The camera provides us
with close up shots of both Dr. King Schultz and Django, presenting to us their emotions. Through the

Rikki Tavi Theme
Rikki Tikki Tavi Argumentative Essay
Theme is the colossal idea we grab from a story after reading it. It s a central idea in literary work. In
the story Rikki Tikki Tavi , by Rudyard Kipling the theme is good versus evil.
Rikki tikki and Nagaina are the main characters of this story. Rikki tikki is the hero, in this short story
or protagonist, and the antagonist, Nagaina is the viscous, mean one. Rikki helps people and Nagaina
is greedy and selfish. This story can possibly have another theme to it. Throughout the story, Rikki
tikki tavi ,Rikki tikki represents the good side of the theme in this story. He s protective because he
asked Nag if he thought it was right for him to eat fledglings that fall out of a nest. Rikki tikki is also
courageous because he isn t afraid to fight Nagaina. In the story Rikki tikki tells Nagaina, I m not
afraid to fight you even if I m small. Wow!! He s a brave guy! Rikki tikki is also loyal to Darzee. He

She s extremely evil in the story Rikki tikki tavi. She was also very selfish. In the story, she said, We
got the garden all to ourselves and were not sharing with any of you. Woah!!! That was harsh!
Nagaina also sent Nag into the house to kill the family while she stayed outside. This too shows how
selfish she truly is.The next example shows how Nagaina also threatens the child saying, Son of the
big man that killed Nag she hissed, Stay still, because I m not ready yet. If you move I ll strike, and if
you, do not move I strike. Nagaina is very determined to fight Rikki tikki because she said I m ready
to fight you so get over here. The alternative claim could be courage versus fear. Rikki tikki has
courage and Chuchundra has fear. Rikki tikki shows courage in the way he stands up to the cobras,
who are the bullies, no matter if he s small or not. Chuchundra shows fear because he s afraid to mess
with the bigger bullies so he stays clear and on the outside of

Basic Principles Of The Polymerase Chain Reaction ( PCR )
a. Describe the basic principles of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
PCR is biochemical research technique developed in 1985 by Kary Mullins. It is based on the
principle of amplifying DNA through a series of cycling reactions with varying temperatures. PCR
uses the ability of thermostable polymerase enzymes to synthesize a new complementary DNA strand
to a template strand.
b. What are the essential components of a PCR reaction?
The essential components of PCR reactions are:
i. Taq polymerase: A thermostable DNA polymerase isolated from the bacterium Thermus aquaticus
that survives at 750C. ii. DNA primers: Approximately 20 nucleotides in length that are specific to a
DNA region of interest. They are complementary in sequence to the ends of the target DNA. Primer is
chosen based on what part of DNA needs to be copied or amplified. iii. Sample DNA: Containing
target DNA iv. Nucleotides: dNTPs or deoxynucleotide triphosphates are single units of bases of A, T,
G and C.
v. PCR Buffer: Contains Tris HCL, KCL, and MgCl2. Buffer helps to create optimal conditions for the
activity of Taq DNA polymerase.
c. What is the name of the instrument typically used for PCR? Describe its operations and how it is
useful for performing PCR reactions.
PCR reaction is typically performed in a thermocycler also called as a PCR machine or DNA
amplifier.
Thermocycler operation and PCR process:
Thermocycler consist of a thermal block with holes to fit tubes in which the PCR reaction

The Hawthorne Effect
Hawthorne Effect
The Hawthorne effect was discovered as an outcome of analyzing older experiments that were
conducted at the Hawthorne Works, a factory outside Chicago between 1924 and 1932. The term
Hawthorne Effect was first suggested by Henry A. Landsberger in 1955. According to Landsberger,
the Hawthorne effect is a type of reactivity. It refers to any short term increase in productivity that
may occur in an organization as a result of being watched or appreciated.
In organizations, it has been observed that small changes like increasing lighting, clearing obstacles
from the floor, maintaining clean work stations or even increased attention to the workforce has a
short term impact on productivity.

These counsellors then took the feedback to supervisors and helped them modify their behavior. This
exercise resulted in better intra organizational communication.
Definitions for the Hawthorne Effect
Hawthorne effect in research refers to the scenario where a non manipulated variable causes and
unexpected impact on the variable that was originally to be manipulated. The Hawthorne effect may
also refer to experimental subjects complying increasingly well with what they perceive as the wishes
of the experimenter.
In an experiment, a Hawthorne effect would refer to an effect that happens in a desired direction but
not because of the expected reason. The positive effect happens not because of a variable being
modified or introduced but rather the effect takes place because the participants know they are being
watched. Experimenters need to consider how the consequences of performance affect how a subject
behaves. The reactions of a participant to an experiment can itself cause some changes. The
conclusion therefore is that any novel change in environment or attention on subjects will be well
received by

Racial Inequality In Caged Bird And Nothing s Changed

Both Angelou and Afrika contrast the situation of an African American and a white person, conveying
the emotions caused by racial discrimination, segregation, to well as making the reader empathize and
understand an African American in the setting of their poems in hopes of spreading their message
across, as both poets express that the whites in power usually don t care, nor are they able to
empathize. Caged Bird explores the impact of racial inequality by using an extended metaphor and

Focus of Research of Viral Infections Involves...
Introduction An emerging area of research focus on the investigation of viral infections involved in
neurodegenerative diseases. Data suggests that viral infections promote hallmark events seen in
neuronal degeneration such as in Alzheimer s Disease (AD). In AD, protein aggregates of β amyloid
peptides forming plaques and neurofibrillary tangles composed of hyperphosphorylated tau has been
shown to impair brain functions. Areas affected are the hippocampus and cerebral cortex responsible
for cognitive and locomotor skills. Other contributing factors to neuronal degeneration includes
oxidative stress, and modifications to autophagic and apoptotic pathways. This paper looks at herpes
simplex type 1 involvement in AD.
History
The origin of Herpes Virus is unknown but its lesions and transmission were recognized by
Hippocrates and Shakespeare during earlier times (Kaplan 1973). In 1919, the experimental works of
Lowenstein confirmed the infectious nature of HSV (Holden 1932). Twentieth century Herpes simplex
virus (HSV) research lead to the discovery that aside from skin infections, HSV also infects the central
nervous system (CNS) (Kaplan 1973).
Molecular Biology Herpesviridae, a family of viruses whose name is derived from the Greek word

Former Slaves Role In Reconstruction
During the Reconstruction, former slaves got many opportunities to things they would have never
been able to do before. In my opinion, the three most important opportunities were the building of
churches, the right to education, and the job opportunities. All of these gave the African Americans or
former slaves help to accomplish what they could not do as slaves. These three opportunities were
giving them the chance to a better life. When churches were built the former slaves were eager to go to
them and build them. This was the most important institution. Churches played a very important role
in the African Americans. They had always gone to white churches or had to hide their own secret
services. Black churches grew quickly. Many

The Use of Literary Techniques in Robert Frost s Stopping...
Robert Frost s, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening tells a story of a man and his horse who are
walking in the woods that are possibly owned by someone the man knows. Snow falls softly from the
sky and the woods are silent. He mentions that the horse does not want to stop with him without a
reason. The only sound audible is the horse s bell that jingles around his neck. Snow makes a
sweeping sound in the wind around them. The man wants to stay and enjoy the peacefulness, but
realizes that he must get back to his responsibilities. The theme of this poem is the simplicity of nature
and how alluring it can be. To be able to enjoy such a scenery and not have obligations is the man s
dream, but reality quickly reminds him of his responsibilities. Frost uses symbols, allegorical
meanings, and metaphors to help reveal the theme of his poem; that duties and responsibilities limit
people from being able to do the things they love sometimes. The most important symbol in Frost s
poem is the woods which are lovely, dark, and deep (13). and are very seducing to the reader. These
woods are tempting the man to stay and enjoy them. One could interpret this as a longing to lay down
in the woods to a deep, dark sleep and never wake up, possibly death. The man stops with his horse in
these woods and watches them fill up with snow (4). In relation to the theme, the woods confirm the
simplicity of nature and all its wonder. Another symbol in this poem is the horse s bells that

  • 2. Lake Hamilton Narrative It was mid September 2016 we were on our making our way to Lake Hamilton. An hour and a half later we arrived, it had been my first time in Lake Hamilton ever. I walked into the sunlight exiting the bus. We all ran to the locker room and got a drink of water and went to stretch so we wouldn t have problems with cramps and charley horses. We started hitting practice and ran some sprints to warm up. Soon after the Lake Hamilton football team came out. I wasn t intimidated to the slightest, I knew what I was capable of and was hunting for fresh blood. Before I knew it the game was starting they got the ball first that meant that it was my time to shine. I walked onto the field, my adrenaline was rushing through my body I was ready to show ... • 3. Persia And Greece Nowadays, technology may be considered the issue of tremendous consequence. It provides all spheres of the life being as well as people throughout the planet with the possibility of permanent development. However, the impact of technology may be also harmful and result in negative outcomes in the long run. There are many historical examples of how civilizations, which had all predispositions to successful development, ceased to exist under the influence of the technological aspects. Ronald Wright states that one of the key debatable issues of the progress is dealing with innovations. According to the scholar, innovations not only result in new opportunities but also in problems, which were absent before the appearance of innovations. In case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their achievements in the field of engineering, architecture, culture, and medicine are truly enormous. Greece is also famous for its great philosophers, like Socrates and Plato, who developed many theoretical issues, which are relevant even today. Darius the First is considered a consolidator of the Persian Empire. He managed to develop a strong organizational structure of the country, which lasted for nearly two hundred years. Xerxes, the son of Darius I, continued the policy of his father. However, the unsuccessful wars with Greece had a significantly negative impact on the further process of the development of Persia. An enormous amount of unrecoverable resources, like timber, was used to build ships and maintain an army. After the death of Xerxes in 465 B.C., Persia did not have a strong ruler and, consequently, the process of decline started. From the side of the possible impact of technology on the development of civilization, the situation in Persia is controversial. Despite the fact the country had valuable mineral resources copper, tin, silver, gold, and iron, people had limited knowledge concerning the peculiarities of minerals extraction. Therefore, the utilization of the resources was also limited. The situation with agriculture was unsuccessful. People at that time faced difficulties with generating the agricultural ... • 4. Summary Of The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes The message conveyed in Langston Hughes poetry Mother to Son, and I, Too, Sing America shed a light on the hardship of growing up African American through Hughes experiences as a boy and young man. In The Weary Blues, Hughes depicts the downside of African culture through jazz. The author was born in Joplin Missouri, and began writing poetry in the eighth grade. Some of Hughes earlier poems were published in the magazine Crisis which was run by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He was a social activist and celebrated the black life and culture throughout his works (Bouchard). Hughes poetry and short stories include aspects of the African American life through his eyes as he shares his experiences with the readers. Hughes wrote about what he knows; the author let his background and early life inspire his writing, as it is reflected through many of his pieces. Poems written by the author share his beliefs, and lessons he has learned about his culture growing up (Bouchard). Life was not always easy for him, and Hughes depicts that message in a handful of his short stories. There are several collects that the author has written, which inform the audience on the African American experience, Hughes portrays the black American experience most successfully in five collections of short stories... ( Thematic 39). The author s mother is included in several pieces along with the common theme of life being a climb; Hughes gathers information and stories from her, as he realizes his culture is something to be proud of (Bouchard). Hughes mother had a huge impact on his style of writing, along with his perspective on certain things. She was one of the first to teach him life s a climb, and being African American is indeed a struggle (Thematic). The author writes a poem called, Mother to Son that shares some of his experiences and lessons learned from his mother. Hughes mother had a very challenging life and shares that with her son, along with some advice on how to keep pushing through, And sometimes goin in the dark/ where there ain t been no light./ So boy, don t turn back (Hughes, Mother 187). • 5. Explain The Realism Of The Gulf War Abstract The Gulf War was a brief affair between Kuwait and Iraq in 1990 and 1991 when Iraq invaded Kuwait, yet many additional state and non state parties involved. Realism is a theory attempting to explain international relationships, which says that states struggle to hold power and will inevitably be in conflict with each other because of this. Although realism was a core theory before the Cold War, many believe that it is no longer applicable post Cold War. This paper has three parts. First, it will provide a brief explanation of the Gulf War. Second, it will explain realism including the view of realism s relevance post Cold War. Finally, it will discuss the realist interpretation of the actions of three large actors involved in the war: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the United States. This paper will critically discuss the Gulf War and investigate the dynamics and motivations of the three main actors involved from a realist perspective. This paper will prove that although realism is no longer overt, hidden intentions and behaviors line up to agree with a realist methodology in international relations. Realism is one theory that has been used to explain international relationships. However, many say that it is less relevant post Cold War due to changes in politics and interactions between states. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Where there were small moments of collaboration, it was only to position one s self to gain power by force. Countries have learned, as if through rote memorization, that it is not appropriate to attack other states in order to get what they want; they have been taught to try (or pretend to try) and work together. However, it is all too clear that as soon as the state does not get what it desires in the easy manner, the state acts in a manner explained by realism, which is to take it by sheer force, perhaps providing a guise for a ... • 6. Essay 1900 Vs 2000 1900 Versus 2000 I think that we take for granted the things that we have today. Just look at all of the innovations in technology and quality of living over the last 100 years. Back in the year 1900, things went crazy. All sorts of new inventions were coming out all of the time, and people were becoming rich beyond their wildest dreams. In my opinion, the past 100 years have left us in a completely different world. Back in the early 1900 s people were amazed to see a person driving down the road in something called an automobile. This was astonishing. People were getting around without a horse to pull them. All the person had to do is press the gas pedal to make the car move. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They had no idea how all of these complicated things worked and that scared them. many of them wished that none of these things had ever been invented. Today, technology is advancing at an incredible rate. You can t even buy a computer that isn t already obsolete. People can now communicate with a video phone, or fly to another country in a matter of hours. You can run a multi million dollar business from your computer at home. People can go on the Internet and find out information on everything from the weather to a recipe for chicken soup. Unlike 1900, if you don t get a good education in today s world, you will not be successful. Even people who go to college aren t guaranteed to make a lot of money. Today, a car can cost tens of thousands of dollars, where as back in 1900 you could get one for under a thousand. Back then people were worried about the destruction of the forests, and today, we worry about what countries might destroy us with nuclear weapons. It seems to me that people at the early part of the last century were a lot happier than people of today. They were surrounded by all of the excitement of the rapidly changing world. People were always going to parties and having fun. Today, I hear a lot of talk about how bad people are. There is always something on the news about how a little elementary student ... • 7. The Great Gatsby Narrator Analysis A narrator is a character who recounts the events of a novel. These characters narrate the novel in their point of view and how they perceive the events that occur. Their narration may be unreliable due to bias and dishonesty. F. Scott Fitzgerald s, The Great Gatsby, Nick Carraway, a first person narrator, tells the story through his point of view and interprets the events and characters in the novel. Nick is an unreliable narrator because he is biased on his interpretations of the characters and the events that occur, like Gatsby s death. For example, he speaks negatively of Tom throughout the novel, and speaks highly of Gatsby due to their relationship. Nick s interpretation of Gatsby s death is seen as unreliable because Nick s morals change, and he focuses the event on himself. Nick s interpretations of the characters in the novel are biased due to the relationships he has with them. Nick describes himself as one of the few honest people that [he has] ever known (Fitzgerald 59). Nick desperately tries to prove that he is reliable and trustworthy, showing that he is insecure. Early in the book, Nick shares the piece of advice that his father gave to him when he was younger. He says, Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone . . . just remember that all the people in this world haven t had the advantages that you ve had . . . I m inclined to reserve all judgments (1). Nick s desire to be an authentic narrator, compels people to trust him and his side of the story. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Emperor Hirohito HiroHito was the Emperor of Japan from 1926 to 1989. Also the longest reigning Emperor in Japanese history. He was a controversial figure that surrendered Japan to the Allied Forces in 1945. HiroHito was born on April 29, 1901 in Tokyo, Japan as the Eldest son of Crown Prince Yoshihito. Yet, he was not raised by his parents. Rather, he spent his early years raised by a retired vice admiral and then an imperial attendant. Between ages 7 and 19, HiroHito attended schools designed for nobility. He attended Gakushuin School (also known as Peers School). He was instructed in military and religious matters, along with math and physics. In 1921, HiroHito brought a 24 man entourage to Western Europe for a tour that lasted six months. This was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the economy failing, militarism rising and many political assassinations caused a crisis for the pro democracy movement. HiroHito, who was the highest spiritual authority and commander in chief of the armed forces, fired the prime minister in 1929. The two prime ministers to follow were both assassinated. One was shot and mortally wounded, and the one to follow was murdered by naval officers who had quarrels with a treaty limiting the number of Japanese warships. After that, all prime ministers were pulled from the military rather than form political parties, which disbanded altogether in 1940. Around the same time, Japan and China s conflict were growing. In 1931, a railway explosion caused by Japaneses army officers was blamed on Chinese bandits. They then used the event to take over Manchuria in northeastern China. And set up a puppet state there. Following this incident were numerous Excursions and by 1937, war had broken out. During that winter, the Japanese army murdered about 200,000 civilians and Prisoners of War in the area surrounding and within Nanking. • 9. The Azusa Street Revival Allan Anderson, a reader at the Graduate Institute for Theology and Religion, states that Pentecostalism received global recognition during the events at Azusa Street in spite of having various origins in the beginning of the twentieth century (Anderson 180). The intense apocalyptic eschatology of the Pentecostals thus created a self appraisal that their movement was something profoundly original and which had few precedents in Christian history, suggests Steven Hunt, author of A History of the Charismatic Movement in Britain and the United States of America (117). Joe Creech, a doctoral candidate in history at the University of Notre Dame, suggests that Pentecostals believed Azusa was the place where God would reestablish the church. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gorman reports that manifestation of the Holy Spirit took precedence over the rules of dogma. He explains that the unorthodox church practices, which allowed any person to speak behind a pulpit, created discord among the congregation (Gorman 520). Ben Pugh, a Lecturer in Theology at Cliff College, UK, describes how William Seymour implemented a third aspect of the evidence of speaking in tongues to the Wesleyan belief system (Pugh 17). Hegertun explains that rather than attacking the dogmatic positions of others the evidence of the Holy Spirit and charismatic gifting served as justification of their theology (37 38). Pugh states that the trifold aspect of theology is implemented to date by the Holiness Pentecostals with the majority being African American (17). He also reveals that by 1910, the end result would be a metamorphosis of American Pentecostals to the trifold model of sanctification (Pugh 17). Hunt explains that receiving the gift of utterance, according to Synan, is the driving force behind Pentecostalism (117). Dodson proposes that the evidence of the gifts of the Holy Spirit happening at the revival demonstrated God s authority and existence (52). Hunt reports there were numerous personal accounts of healings, deliverance, and miracles (116). He reveals that by 1914, all churches implemented the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Only, when the cells realize the problems within the living system and begin to change things, it is more that Virgil bargained for. Each cell from every other living thing is incorporated and melted into an alternate society, making each cell sentient, but also part of a communal group, sharing DNA, and ultimately throughout the information transference, making each individual a part of the genetic whole. The proposed expert system manages and explores the knowledge in this specific application by reasoning on a database of facts by means of suitable inference rules. The proposed comprehensive, homogenous framework uses a set of Fuzzy Inference Systems to interpret, standardize and fuse heterogeneous data in order to estimate normalized factors. The FIS for affecting factor analysis is divided into four main components: the fuzzification, knowledge base, Inference engine, and the Defuzzification. Fuzzy logic controller has four components: 1) Fuzzification: It transforms input into suitable linguistic value so that can be compared to the rule in rule base. 2) Knowledge Base: It contains the knowledge in form of a set of rules to control the artificial system. It is the collection of rules. The basic function of rule base is to provide the required information to fuzzification module, the rule base and the defuzzification module. If part is called antecedent and then part is called consequent. 3) Inference Engine: If control rules are relevant then it decides the input to the plant. The Inference system provides the mechanism for invoking or referring to the rule base such that the proper rules are fired on the situation. 4) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spencer died December 8, 1903 while working on his autobiography, which was then published in 1904. Through his anti clerical and rejectionist upbringing, Spencer was raised to attach to a theory like Darwinian evolution. In his first published article on the development of Social Darwinism, entitled The Development Hypothesis, 1852, Spencer established his lack of faith and claimed that creationism was a theory which is supported by no facts at all. He further elaborated on the issue and asserted that there must be another mode by which the world was created. He even went as far as to write that, if he were to interrogate any leading geologist or physiologists they would be forced to confess that the notion was put into his mind in childhood as part of a story which he now thinks is absurd. Spencer believed that creationism was not a viable medium on which to base scientific thought, and as a result, he was forced to find another way to explain the creation of the world. • 18. Importance Of Ethics In Anthropology Vishan Neupane Professor Ritu Khanduri ANTH 2322 002 1 December 2017 Ethics, fieldwork and anthropology Anthropology is a worldwide discipline which involve social institution, humanities and natural sciences. Cultural anthropology studies the contemporary human cultures and shows how social behavior are formed and how they shape the world around them. Anthropological researchers always have ethical obligations, especially to the materials they study, and the group of people with whom they work. When exploring the community, anthropologists learn about matters that their informants would prefer to keep their identity secret which leads them to protect informant identity. Social research can impact ethical dilemmas. A simple mistake of the anthropologist may lead to social isolation of an informant. Anthropologists should always know whether the group they are being researched wishes to stay anonymous or receive recognition. During an anthropologist s fieldwork, anthropologists look over enculturation. Enculturation is a process by which we obtain and transmit culture which is experienced universally among humans. It teaches the individual about their role in the society as well as what kind of behavior is accepted within that culture and lifestyle. Some anthropologists are ethnocentric. They critique other groups relative to their own ethnic group or culture, especially with concern for customs, language, behavior, and religion. The group of people that falls in this ... One could interpret this as a longing to lay down in the woods to a deep, dark sleep and never wake up, possibly death. The man stops with his horse in these woods and watches them fill up with snow (4). In relation to the theme, the woods confirm the simplicity of nature and all its wonder. Another symbol in this poem is the horse s bells that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
